Helping lecturers and students make the most of technologies in teaching and learning

A first career in the software industry made be aware of the social impacts of IT use, both on individuals and on organisations. As Senior Lecturer in Communication Studies at Sheffield Hallam (1996-2012), I used that knowledge in my teaching, by encouraging the development of online learning communities and focusing the curriculum on the social aspects of business and technical communication.
