Ocean acidification
Since the beginning of the
Industrial Revolution, Ocean
Acidification has lowered the pH
of the ocean from 8.179 to a
current pH of 8.069, which
means the ocean is about 30%
more acidic now than it was in
1751.
This increase is the result of
humans emitting more carbon
dioxide into the atmosphere and
hence more being absorbed into
the oceans
With ocean acidification, corals
cannot absorb the calcium
carbonate they need to maintain
their skeletons and the stony
skeletons that support corals and
reefs will dissolve and more
corals will be destroyed.
Indian Environment ministry works to remediate projects
initiated with an Environmental Impact Assessment
The Environment ministry in India has developed plan for
considering and clearing projects that have started constructions
or made expansions without obtaining an environment clearance
as a result of Environmental Impact Assessment.
It was learnt through draft notification issued "Environmental
Supplemental Plan" that the Indian Environment ministry deems
to review such projects that have violated the EIA process and
clear such projects by enforcing them to mitigate the damages
done by them.
Experts from Centre for Policy Research and Namati Environment
Justice Program point out that the draft notification lays out a
process, which legally allows for a violator to damage the
environment and subsequently obtain cover to compensate for
the damage.
The practice of EIA internationally has been to help make
environmentally sound decisions on development so that
decisions for economic growth take into account socio-
environmental concerns.

Top Recruitment Mistake
A recent survey conducted by us to gauge professional
dissatisfaction in across several organizations recently
converged to the single most basic mistake on part of an
organization was not creating an accurate job description.
Responses like “doing whatever boss is asking” to “boss
thinks professionals has interest in such a task” leads to
emotions such as aggression, frustration, disillusioned in
both active and passive forms and adds to the confusion of a
professional and his perceived career path.
Historically it has increased employee turnover and an
unrealized replacement expense to the organization.
A simple list of duties, responsibilities, authorities,
accountabilities with an overall purpose and certainly
without adding any misleading opportunities or promises
would be sufficient for any organization.
