24. Merchandise Strategy
Macy’s Private Brand -- Hotel Collection
Hotel Collection consists of bedding, mattresses, bath, fine bone China,
and tabletop, and also includes an easy-care product line extension
with a mix-and- match element. After I visited Macy’s several times, I
decided to extend a skincare line for Hotel Collection, customer service
that provides skin treatment, and connect with hotels to promote our
products. In store, the Skincare Line will be in a shelf stand alone in the
beauty department.
We will present the products by different skin types in different
categories, giving people a neat and clean view, helping customers find
their products fast.
25. The skincare line that I opened will sell face and body care. These
days skincare is very popular among men and women, if Hotel
Collection has a skincare line, it will attract more customers coming
to the store.
Hotel Collection – Customer Service
Hotel Collection skincare line will offer special customer service –
face treatment and body massage. When customers buy a set of
face care products in Hotel Collection, they will get a chance to enjoy
our special face treatment using our products to deep clean their skin
and for different types of skin using different treatments.
Hotel Collection – Promotion
In order to make our products familiar to people, we will give free
samples when people buy the skincare products in Macy’s, to let
people know about our products, and to like our products.
Merchandise Strategy
28. Merchandise Presentation
My beauty store is called THE MIRROR, and this store will be located in a mall. The theme of our store is
bold luxury, our store has a balanced design by placing similar fixtures on both sides of the store; the
colors of the store are mainly white, gold, and black.
In front of the store, people can see the door is in the middle of two windows, the windows display the
hottest items of our store, people can see the store through the glass windows, also they can see the lip
shaped sofa in the back of the store.
When people enter the store, there are 3 cabinets carrying merchandise on both sides of the store, two
perfume cabinets are next to the window display tables, followed by a perfume table, on the left is cash
wrap, and on the right is a customization station.
Behind the merchandise tables is a skincare station on the left, and a beauty studio on the right. The back
of the store has a management room, and a staff room on the left, and a stock room on the right, in the
middle is a lip shaped sofa on a display stage.
31. Business/Management
The business administration courses are designed to prepare for
the responsibilities, skills and challenges required of today’s
leaders. Emphasis is placed on how to be proactive to
changes in the marketplace, develop and implement strategies
to accomplish goals and exceed expectations in a team
environment.
