Beverages
• Any portable drink except water is termed as
beverages.
• Water is not considered as beverage because
according to oxford dictionary water is a liquid
without color, smell or taste that falls as rain,
is in lake, river and sea and is used for
drinking, washing etc.

• Hospitality industry it is also called as table
water. This is water which contains very less of
natural minerals. Used for consumption during
meals. This is the water which is consumed in
Indian homes.
• It is also termed as filter water or RO water
(Reverse Osmosis

• Sparkling water is the water which contains
CO2. . It is also termed as aerated water. They
are charged or aerated with carbonic gas. The
charging with carbonic gas imparts the
pleasant effervescent characteristics.
• The flavors which is found at these sparkling
water are imparted from various essences

• The water which is rich in mineral by natural
method or minerals are added is termed as
mineral water. The natural source of mineral
water is Natural spring. The water which
comes from natural springs are often termed
as spring water.
• Mineral water can be still water and sparkling
water, depending upon the presence of
effervescence.

loss from the body. Example Aerated drinks.

nutrients to the body. Example Fruit juices,
shakes etc.

tea is derived from t’e of the Chinese Fukien
dialect.
• The Dutch introduced it to Europe.
• In Cantonese, tea is known as Ch’a and this is
the name by which this wonderful beverage
came to be known in Japan, India, Russia, Iran
and the Middle East.

in an ancient Chinese dictionary revised by
Kuo P’o, a celebrated Chinese scholar in AD
