2. The Future of Innovative Research
Key Themes
1. Co creation - Working together with customers to build better products and
services
2. Being social - As we start to look to Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc for conducting
research, we have to keep in mind the importance of being active
3. Asking questions at more appropriate times- As technology continues to advance
we will have the capability to ask questions at more appropriate times. More quant
and qual conducted on mobile devices.
3. Planning for Community Panel Success
Three pillars of success:
1. Plan ahead to answer your information needs.
You need to have a solid process to manage the volume and speed of activities; and a
flexible roadmap that plans out what's coming up.
2. Keep stakeholders engaged.
If you don't involve your stakeholders with the community panel and what it can be
used for, they are unlikely to dip their hands in their wallets.
3. Panelists do not like feeling like lab rats.
Running a community panel is a lot different than doing traditional custom research -
mainly because your sample doesn't go away. You're building a relationship with your
customers and you need to ensure that you give back.
