2. Background
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
1 Corinthians 2:21
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Christ, for it is the POWER of GOD unto
SALVATION to those who believe Romans
1:16
3. Dilemma
Sin separated God from man.
Mankind was in slavery to sin
Sin kept mam in bondage, keeping him
from who he truly was
Man could not obey God’s law perfectly
Man did not have fulfillment, was
lost, without hope.
4. Dilemma
The strength of sin is the law 1 Corinthians
15
The law was the schoolmaster unto Christ
Told us how much we needed a savior
The law does not have the power to
make one holy
5. Dilemma
Without God, we cannot do anything
We cannot live uprightly without trusting in
Jesus Christ.
No one is right with God apart from Jesus. No
one can be with him while being enslaved to
sin.
Obeying God’s laws will not make one
righteous Romans 3
Neither will our works---Isaiah 64:6
True peace and fulfillment is only found in
Jesus Christ
6. Dilemma
Sin must be punished
Fires of Hell
Forever
No one can save himself. Jesus said
whoever tries to save his life will lose
it, and whoever loses his life for my sake
will find it.
Our life we must lose-our self-centered life
7. Solution
For by grace are we saved through
faith, not of ourselves, it is the gift of God
Ephesians 2:8
And you shall know the truth and the truth
shall set you free John 8:32
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the
life, no one comes to the father except
through me John 14:6
9. The Gospel Made Simple
For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten son, that whosoever
believes on him shall not perish, but we
have everlasting life.
St. John 3:16
10. One facet of Grace is getting
what we do not deserve
Unmerited favor
We walked away from God in the
garden, we deserved to go to Hell.
We were enemies of God. Far off…
We had a debt we could not pay
But God sent Jesus do die in our place as
the final sacrifice for our sins.
…but brought nigh by the blood of Christ
(Romans 5:6-7)
11. True Love of God
God accepts us for who we are
He loves us unconditionally so that we
can be free from sin, and walk in his light.
He sent his son Jesus, so that we can be
restored back to the father and have a
loving relationship with him. 2 Corinthians
5
12. Not of ourselves…it is the gift
of God
Not of our works, lest any man
boast
This is nothing we can do, its God’s gift back
to us. All we need to do is receive Jesus as our
Lord and Savior.
Nothing we can do can earn God’s
righteousness or maintain our righteousness.
No additional effort on our part (God does
the repentance for us)
Nothing we can do to earn God’s love.
It is received by faith, trusting in his love.
Faith in God means you are repenting from a
lifestyle of sin into a Godly lifestyle.
13. Because of Jesus
It is Because of Jesus that we:
Are Holy (Colossians 2:10)
Have Joy and Peace (Ephesians 2:14, Philippians 4:4)
Are Successful (Philippians 4:13)
Are Complete (Colossians 2:10)
Are Satisfied
Can walk in him.
It’s really all about him, not about us
He gave us our positions, our food, our home (Psalms
23, 68), so the focus needs to be in him, not in ourselves.
Everything is THROUGH Jesus
14. The Non-negotiable Elements
of the Gospel of Christ (2 John
6-9)
Christ was born of a virgin (Genesis 3:15, Isaiah
7:14)
Jesus Christ is both God and Man (John 10:30)
Jesus Christ Alone is Sufficient (Galatians 3)
Christ was born in Bethlehem (Micah 7)
Christ fulfilled the law, was obedient unto death
(Romans 10:4, Philippians 2)
Christ died for our sins (Mark 15)
Christ was buried (Mark 15)
Christ rose again (Mark 16) (1 Cor 15)
Anyone who believes on him shall receive eternal
life (John 3:16)
15. Responding to This Gospel
Got to Receive by faith (Romans 10:9-10)
Prepare your hearts to receive.
Trust, not merely have head knowledge
(James 2:14-26)
Trust that Christ paid for your sins, and that
you want to be reconciled to him.
You want to be free from sin so you can
walk in the light. (John 8:32-36)
16. Recognizing Sin
Blessed are the poor in spirit
When one realizes how poor they are without
Christ, and how sin has robbed them of true
fulfillment…they will want to turn to Christ to pay
that off.
Many people trust that Christ paid their sin debt in
full…but do not want anything to do with living for
God. They missed the gospel by a long shot.
Believing in Christ means that you want to turn
from slavery to sin and become new in Christ. It’s a
change of heart that only God can do (Acts 3:26).
Its our part to believe in Christ for the remissions of
our sins and he does the turning for us.
17. Recognizing Sin
Sin is deadly and it causes us to have
misery in our lives. It is not fun.
It causes us to be separated from true
peace and Joy.
It fills us up with pride, which always leads
us to destruction.
18. The Nature of Grace
Grace is not a license to sin, like some say
Grace is an empowerment to live a
righteous, joyous and peaceful life (Romans
14:7)
Grace wants to set us free from sin, and help
us be more like him and in him everyday.
Grace causes us to deny ourselves (Mark
8:34) and turn to him and trust in him.
Grace is the empowerment to do the work
God has created you.
19. The Nature of Grace
God loves us all
Nothing can separate
But God loves us so much that he wants us to
restore us to what were created us to be.
He does not approve of sin.
But he loves us so we can repent and live for
him
Grace is all about being reconciled to the
father and serving him.
Deny Our Own Ambitions, Take up our
cross, and follow him. Mark 8:34
20. Its already done
Jesus already paid for our sins, past, present
and future (God is outside of time) (Galatians
2:13)
The war in the spiritual realm is over.
He already has done everything in how
word…we just have to receive it by faith.
Walk as if its already done.
21. How to Respond
Confess with Your Mouth
Believe in Your Heart
Romans 10:9-10
Confess & Believe that Christ died for you, was
buried and risen again. Believe in your heart that
he did die for you so you can be with God forever.
Its very simple. You do not have to say a prayer to
get saved, but you must confess with your mouth
that Jesus is your Lord and believe in your heart
that he is risen and still lives today.
22. Trust Only in Jesus
Through Jesus and him alone we are
saved
Jesus paid it all for me.
Trust in his sacrifice to cleanse you from all
unrighteousness, not yourself to make you
right with God.
23. If you trusted in Jesus today
You are a new creature
You (your sinful self) is dead and your life is hid with
God (Colossians 3:3)
You are buried with him (Romans 6)
You are risen with him (Romans 6)
You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:7)
God has imputed Righteousness to you through
Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Meaning, your spirit is changed
The Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit, he will
never leave you. (Romans 8)
24. In Christ You Are…
The righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Ambassadors for Christ
Joint-Heirs to God’s throne
Accepted
Worthy to be Called His Son
Competent
Holy
25. In Christ You Have…
Colossians 2:10
2 Peter 1:3
Hope
Faith
Purity
Joy
Everything You Need
Fulfillment
26. In Christ, You Have A…
Relationship with the Father
Relationship with the Son
Relationship with the Holy Spirit
27. With the Father
You can come to him and ask him for
anything you need, through his son
You can trust that he will meet every one
of your needs, through his son.
You can have a healthy relationship with
him and experience him in your day
life, through Jesus.
28. With the Son
You are the Bride of Christ
You can have anything through him
You are created to be like Christ
You are to model him to please the
father.
Christ is your intercessor, he intercedes for
those who trust him as their savior.
29. With the holy spirit
The Holy Spirit Convicts us of who we are
in him. He guides us on the right path.
He guides us into all truth
He tells us what the father and the son
want to tell us. He gets everything through
them
He comforts and edifies us. He helps us
and gives us peace and joy.
He helps us along the righteous path.
30. Walking By Faith
Grace-Second Facet-
Empowerment to Serve God
to do Good Works
The same way you receive Christ is the same way you walk in
him…In Christ
We are his workmanship created to do good works (Hebrews 11)
Trust in God along the way as you walk by faith. You cannot walk
while sitting down.
We rely on Jesus and not ourselves to make us into the person
God’s called us to be. Its by faith in him to finish the work in us
Salvation is Justification, Sanctification, and glorification.
Its all about living in God’s kingdom. You’re now a part of God’s
family, and you are entitled to many privileges so take advantage
of them.
When you are justified, you are born again, when you are being
sanctified, you are growing up in Christ and when you are
glorified, that’s the final deliverance from sin.
31. Freedom in Christ
You are free to walk by faith in him
You are free to be yourself, the righteousness
of God in Christ.
You do not need a list of rules to govern your
relationship with God, it is all done through
love.
Relationships are done through love, not law.
Since God loves you, you do things because
of God’s Love.
32. Being Yourself
Legalism will try to tell a person that they have
to be this or that to be a real Christian.
You already are the righteousness of God in
Christ Jesus.
See yourself the way God sees you, and you
will act the way God wants you to act.
Take authority by declaring God’s word and
living it out. Satan will mess with you, but keep
declaring God’s word.
Accept God’s love and do not try to win
people’s approval.
33. Third Facet of Grace-
Accepting God’s Approval
Those who haven’t accepted God’s
approval will try to find approval in man.
Only God’s approval one needs.
When we do, we can be accepting
towards others and please them so they
can come to know Christ.
We can love others without being in
bondage to others.
We can love without being in bondage/
34. The Gospel is Still Relevant
Even after you are born again, it’s the
same gospel that keeps you moving
forward.
Its because of him we have everything.
In everything give thanks, for it is the will of
God for us (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
It is in him we live and move our being.
35. Developing our Relationship
with God
Spend time with him
Get to Know him
Develop Your faith in him by growing in the grace
and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Basically in a nutshell…Grow in Christ.
Let Christ consume you and be everything to you.
Its all about Jesus when it comes down to it.
Walk in him, stay free from sin.
Forgive others and love others and show the same
love of God to others.
36. Loving Others
Serve others the same way you serve God, by loving them with the same love
God loves you with.
Be interested in pleasing them (in a non-manipulative way) for their
edification so they can come to know Jesus. Do not compromise so you can
win others. It does not work that way.
Pleasing others the right way means putting people into the equation when
you communicate. Be interested genuinely in them and love them
unconditionally. You do not have to do or allow anything that is ungodly.
Don’t judge others, show them compassion and love for their wretchedness so
they can come to know the Lord.
This is a hot-button issue because many people want us to love them and
support their causes. Many people justify their own behavior and say God still
loves them, but God doesn’t approve and neither shall we. We need to love
others and serve the world so they can know Christ.
Be an example to others, and love the people around you. Religious spirits
want to manipulate and control and put down, but Genuine love is respectful
and gentle and shows others compassion. It lets Go, and lets God.
37. Personal Discipleship
Add to your faith…virtue
And to virtue…knowledge
And to knowledge…temperance
And to temperance…perseverance
And to perseverance…Godliness
And to Godliness….brotherly kindness
And to Brotherly Kindness….Love
2 Peter 1:5-8
Develop your faith by reading God’s word and
staying in prayer. Find someone to hold you
accountable.
38. Corporal Discipleship
Find people in your life that will guide you
in the right direction.
Get plugged into a church where you
can grow spiritually and be accountable
to one another.
Remove this independent egotistical spirit
that wants it your way. You need others so
serve the brethren and offer help to
anyone who needs it.
39. The Result of Changed Lives
Fruit of the Spirit is:
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Gentleness
Faithfulness
Goodness
Self-control
Developped Faith:
1. Virtuous
2. Well-Knowledged
3. Well-Disciplined
4. Perseverant
5. Godly
6. Kind
7. Loving
40. Final Word
Neither circumcision or uncircumcision
profits anything, but faith, which works
through Love Galatians 5:6
