AIESEC NEPAL 2013-2014
ENGAGEMENT
with AIESEC
What is AIESEC?
AIESEC is the global youth network impacting the world through leadership development experiences. AIESEC
has been facilitating youth leadership activities as well as international internships & volunteer experiences for
over 65 years, developing a global learning environment across 124 countries & territories. It is the largest not-
for-profit, student-run organization in the world. We are present in over 124 countries with over 100,000
members, and over 1 million alumni worldwide. We focus on providing an international platform for young
people to discover and develop their potential as to have a positive impact on society.
AIESEC provides its members with an integrated
development experience comprised of leadership
opportunities, international internships and
participation in a global learning environment.
Engaging with us is the first touch point with AIESEC.
AIESEC teaches youth how to engage with internationals,
corporate organizations, nonprofit organizations and students.
Customize and pick the path youth want to live in AIESEC.
The programs of AIESEC have been categorized as follows:
What is Engagement with AIESEC?
In 2010, we created our 2015 mid-term ambition. AIESECers from around the world expressed
that we should be delivering more life changing AIESEC experiences to more young people.
Hence, the Engagement with AIESEC phase was born! The aim of the phase was to drive
activities that enable more young people to be introduced to and to interact with AIESEC.
There are 3 types of activities in this phase of the AIESEC experience:
MICRO EXPERIENCES
Activities that create micro experiences for young people. These activities create a separate value proposition
from our core programmes. For example, short-term volunteering as part of an EwA programme, being buddy
or participating in host-family programme.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
PR activities increase our organisational reputation. These activities manage the flow of information between
AIESEC and the general public. For example, AIESEC’s participating in promotional event of recruitment.
MARKETING
Marketing activities that drive sales in our core programmes. These activities use the value propositions of our
core programmes. For example, creating posters or video for TMP recruitment.
NOTE: All three activities are closely linked. For example, MICRO EXPERIENCES can be combined with MARKETING activities to create a high
coonversion rate of customers to our programmes.
What do these activities look like in my Local Committee?
2 ways If you wanna be a member:
1. Apply → sign contract for going for Exchange within 1 year → you are
member
2. Apply → 3 month probation in EwA stage → interview → member (we
are going to select from EwA stage 50 members only)

Allocation into the team based on portfolio (Communication,
Business Development, Incoming Exchange, Outgoing
Exchange, Business Development, Talent Management,
University Relations)
Micro experience within 3 month: being buddy,
being host family, market research, on-line
materials creation, attendance of external
events
National Leadership Summit (Induction Conference
for New Members – Duration 2 days ()in June,
Attendance is required)
Review in 3 month

EwA AIESEC NEPAL (Engagement With AIESEC)

  • 2. What is AIESEC? AIESEC is the global youth network impacting the world through leadership development experiences. AIESEC has been facilitating youth leadership activities as well as international internships & volunteer experiences for over 65 years, developing a global learning environment across 124 countries & territories. It is the largest not- for-profit, student-run organization in the world. We are present in over 124 countries with over 100,000 members, and over 1 million alumni worldwide. We focus on providing an international platform for young people to discover and develop their potential as to have a positive impact on society. AIESEC provides its members with an integrated development experience comprised of leadership opportunities, international internships and participation in a global learning environment. Engaging with us is the first touch point with AIESEC. AIESEC teaches youth how to engage with internationals, corporate organizations, nonprofit organizations and students. Customize and pick the path youth want to live in AIESEC. The programs of AIESEC have been categorized as follows:
  • 3. What is Engagement with AIESEC? In 2010, we created our 2015 mid-term ambition. AIESECers from around the world expressed that we should be delivering more life changing AIESEC experiences to more young people. Hence, the Engagement with AIESEC phase was born! The aim of the phase was to drive activities that enable more young people to be introduced to and to interact with AIESEC. There are 3 types of activities in this phase of the AIESEC experience: MICRO EXPERIENCES Activities that create micro experiences for young people. These activities create a separate value proposition from our core programmes. For example, short-term volunteering as part of an EwA programme, being buddy or participating in host-family programme. PUBLIC RELATIONS PR activities increase our organisational reputation. These activities manage the flow of information between AIESEC and the general public. For example, AIESEC’s participating in promotional event of recruitment. MARKETING Marketing activities that drive sales in our core programmes. These activities use the value propositions of our core programmes. For example, creating posters or video for TMP recruitment. NOTE: All three activities are closely linked. For example, MICRO EXPERIENCES can be combined with MARKETING activities to create a high coonversion rate of customers to our programmes.
  • 4. What do these activities look like in my Local Committee? 2 ways If you wanna be a member: 1. Apply → sign contract for going for Exchange within 1 year → you are member 2. Apply → 3 month probation in EwA stage → interview → member (we are going to select from EwA stage 50 members only) MICRO EXPERIENCE PUBLIC RELATIONS MARKETING Buddy for interns Flash-mob Market Research Host-family program Any promotional event On-line materials creation Global village Press releases Email marketing Publications Recruitment campaigns Articles creation Advertising
  • 5. + You can apply for next recruitment Functional Education General Education EwA (Engagement with AIESEC) stage You can apply for next recruitment INTERVIEW You can go for AIESEC internship in 2014 and already have signed contract, and your profile is suitable for AIESEC You can`t go for AIESEC internship in 2014 but your profile is suitable for AIESECYour profile is not suitable for AIESEC YOU ARE MEMBER!! Allocation into the team based on portfolio (Communication, Business Development, Incoming Exchange, Outgoing Exchange, Business Development, Talent Management, University Relations) Micro experience within 3 month: being buddy, being host family, market research, on-line materials creation, attendance of external events National Leadership Summit (Induction Conference for New Members – Duration 2 days ()in June, Attendance is required) Review in 3 month YOU ARE MEMBER!
