The document discusses the choices facing the US intelligence community in the aftermath of the Edward Snowden leaks. It notes that intelligence community members believe they are exempt from normal societal rules. While most citizens feel Snowden should have acted differently, they are not overly bothered by government surveillance. The document argues that the intelligence community should make a deal to bring Snowden back from exile in exchange for no longer posing a national security threat, in order to demonstrate intelligence and avoid further damaging leaks to US adversaries.
4. Which Choice Will OUR
Intelligence Community Make?
Our Intelligence Community is composed of people who
really truly believe that the normal rules of society do not
apply to them. This is not irrational, but is actually rather
factual.

The problem is that sometimes it would not hurt if they
were to understand that sometimes, “A teaspoon full of
sugar is worth a gallon of vinegar.”

Most citizens feel that Mr. Snowden should have gone about his
revelations in a different manner. They also don’t really seem to
be bothered by being spied upon.

At the same time, they probably wouldn’t mind if a deal was made and Ed Snowden
came home and no longer posed a threat to National Security. We could all sip
Strarbucks Coffee and decide how to spy on us and the rest of the World, or not.
10. Bring Ed Home!
Bring the young man home. He was never fully indoctrinated into the
“spook” culture.
He believed that he was acting as a “True American”.
What has happened at GITMO was wrong!
Spying on the American People is wrong!
Wrong is not necessarily illegal, but it CERTAINLY is not RIGHT!
Americans Have Fought and DIED for What They Believed was RIGHT.
Not Because of Sneaky FISA Court Orders That Never See The Light of
Day!
MAKE A REASONABLE PLEA BARGAIN WITH THIS YOUNG MAN SO
THAT HE RETURNS HOME AND DOES NOT END UP IN CHINA!
