THE MERIT CORPORATION 1
THE MERIT CORPORATION Family owned and operated for three generations, the Merit
Corporation manufactured and sold children s furniture. John Kirschner, Merit s CEO and grandson of
the company s founder, was actively involved with every aspect of the firm s operations. Now, as he
was considering early retirement in the next few years, he began to think about his legacy for the
future. Merit s headquarters and the biggest of its three manufacturing plants were located in an
industrial park 10 miles outside of Boston. Merit shared the large six story building with several small
firms, having its corporate offices on the second and third floors. Employees began work promptly at
8:30 a.m. and most left before 6:00 p.m. A devout family man, ... Show more content on

Kirschner, who had attracted the above individuals based on his compelling vision that they would be
doing something completely different and of vital importance, believed that the group would be most
effective if given extensive freedom and encouragement. The only things he required from it was a
biweekly progress report, so that the executive committee could be kept abreast of its activities, and a
monthly financial report. Group members were free to work as they wished; as long as they focused
their energies on coming up with viable ideas for durable, multipurpose children s furniture products
those consumers would consider a good value. The only structure he imposed was having one person
report directly to him. Thus, he appointed Kane the group head, in large measure because Kane was
the first to be hired, but also because he had made such a positive impression on him. When the eight
people began work at Merit, they did not know each other. Given Kirschner s rather broad mandate,
they also did not know what they would be expected to do on a daily basis. They soon discovered that
they had different ideas not only about what they should do, but also about how they should approach
their work. Those like Jacobson, who had worked in large corporate environments in the past, were
the most outspoken about how the group should approach its task. He was a proponent of a more
systematic approach. Kiris was

The Principle Of Equity Law
INTRODUCTION
Contract is a part of our everyday life. We might not be aware of it but simply buying your lunch
involves an agreement between you, as the buyer, and the seller. The contract is an agreement between
two or more parties under which legal rights and obligations are created which will be enforced in
courts. In addition, law of contract is all about the concepts relevant to the development,
implementation and violation of the agreement.
On the other hand, equity law is a set of rules exercised if there is no appeasement based on the
common law of contract. Here, the court is given the right and freedom to use their own discretion in
giving just and appropriate decisions.
So, the principle of equity is applied when the common law of contract is not sufficient to give
objective and fair judgement. But when would one say it s not adequate? How can it be perceived as
unfair? What is the basis of this fair mindedness? Is this really justice?
ANALYSIS Technically, if we look at the law of contract, there are a lot of loopholes that can be
detected to escape from obligations. A mere breach of the essential requirements or conditions of an
agreement can make the promisor be free from punishment provided he pays for the damages the
other party had suffered. Easy right? Especially if you have the extra money to spare and just laugh
about it afterward. This is where the equity law butt in and the court can apply various equitable
remedies to the disadvantageous ones.

A Comparison Of Willy Loman And Death Of A Salesman
Arthur Millers Death of a Salesman is considered to be both a playwright s masterpiece, and a
cornerstone contemporary American drama. The subtitles consist of a central private conversation in
two of the acts and a requiem. The play was first introduced in 1949 and begin to strike an immediate
emotional chord with audiences. The work of the play would receive numerous awards, and honors,
including the most important one the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle award.
Both plays ran 742 performances on Broadway. The premiere Death of a Salesman became one of the
most performed and adapted plays in American theatrical history. With much of the Millers family
being attributed to the Miller s facility in the portraying of the universal hopes and fears of the middle
class Americans today. Arthur Miller uses Willy Loman as one of the main characters. Miller

Willy believes that if you can talk the right people into buying something, then you could end up
making a deal like the rich people. Willy also showed irresponsibility on his part of his family when
he would never care for his family and through work was more important than family. I also think that
Willy tries to compare himself to Dave Singleman who was an 84 year old traveling salesman who
made sales in hotel rooms and was well known, and liked. When he died all salesmen, and buyers

The Application Of Quantitative, Quantitative And Mixed...
Abstract
The primary goal of this study is to systematize the knowledge about different research
methodological approaches applied in high ranked academic journals in the area of Business
Management. The essay will examine the application of qualitative, quantitative and mixed research
methods in journals, assess their usefulness and present the results of the analysis. An examination of
research methods and research design will identify trends in research methodologies employed in
journals and try to explain the reason of its application in academic papers.
Key words: qualitative research, quantitative research, mixed method research, methodology
Introduction
Defining a case study method indicates the problem and entails finding a solution to solve it.
However, to answer the research questions it is vital to demonstrate deep consideration of the elements
related to particular research design, and to show the ability to reflect upon research philosophy and
approach to theory (Easterby Smith et al., 2012; Eisendhardt, 1989).
In business and management research a regular investigation not only leads to solving business
problems, but also contributes to management knowledge (Edmondson and McManus, 2016). There
are different methods solutions as well as various ways of conducting them. Based on the literature
review, we can distinguish qualitative, quantitative and mixed research methodological approaches.
Despite the fact that the quantitative method based their theory on

The Book Thief Movie
The film opens with a train traveling through the European countryside. It is 1938. Liesel Meminger
sits on the train with her mother and younger brother, only to look over and find that her brother dies
in her mothers arms. As they bury her brother, the gravedigger drops a book and Liesel picks it up and
takes it with her. It is the only left that she has to remember her brother. She is then taken to her new
foster parents, Rosa and Hans Hubermann. Upon her arrival, she meets Rudy Steiner who will be her
best friend until the end; his end at least. Liesel loves to read and it doesn t take her long to withhold
her title as Book Thief. She starts with The Grave Digger s Handbook which is the book she picks up
after her brother s death. Hans teachers her to read and painted her a chalkboard in the basement so
that she can write down the new words she has learned. There ends up being a town parade which is
really a book burning event where Hitler and the Nazis are commemorated, during this time Germany
was looking towards invading new countries. Liesel is handed a book and pressured to throw it into
the fire, to which she eventually does so. However, once the fire has been put out and everyone has
gone home, she notices a book that is only slightly charred, not destroyed by the fire and picks it up. A
car drives by and a woman, who is Ilsa Herman, the mayor s wife, sees her take the book, but Liesel

There Will Come Soft Rain Analysis
Technology is a useful servant, but a dangerous master, a quote said by Christian Lous Lange. I find it
astounding how attached we are to our technological devices.Technology has attached itself to us and
infiltrated our lives. Moreover, we walk around as if technology is cane for us to lean on. If we aren t
careful, we could become too dependent on that cane to the point where it becomes a wheelchair.
Also, in The Veldt, by Ray Bradbury, the children in the story become so dependent on technology to
do everything for them, that they can t even perform basic everyday tasks without the help of
technology. I don t want to believe that this is where society is heading, spiraling downhill into a
world that is completely ruled by technology. It is so =apparent ... Show more content on

Consequently, we are willingly falling into a trap set for us by technology. It is time for us to decide
whether or not we are going to start fighting back or not. Do we want to just become submissive to
technology and let it eat us whole? The differences between the two texts, by Ray Bradbury, The Veldt
and There Will Come Soft Rain are evident, but the similarities are striking. In the first place,
technology is taking over and controlling our lives and one reason why it is, is because we depend on
technology to perform simple tasks for us. In both The Veldt and There Will Come Soft Rains, the
humans of those stories have a deep emotional connection to technology that they wouldn t know
what to do if it was taken away from them. You ve let this room and this house replace you and your
wife in your children s affections. This room is their mother and father, far more important in their
lives than their real parents, says David McClean, a psychologist, referring to George

Banking Regulation Basel II
Procyclicality in minimum regulatory capital charges for credit risk
There is a vast amount of literature available on the additional procyclicality of regulatory capital
charges in Pillar 1 of Basel II. In this section, we shall briefly visit this literature and see if any
conclusions can be drawn from this, before proceeding to the conclusion and mitigation of these
procyclical effects. The majority of the literature, as expected, focuses primarily on the IRB approach,
as this aspect of Basel II has drawn the most criticism from financial practitioners and academics
alike. The greater part of this literature has found that there is an overwhelmingly substantial rise in
procyclicality of minimum regulatory capital charges originating ... Show more content on

This is the biggest problem, and has to be addressed correctly once economic conditions are
conducive to do so. Within the specified Tier 1 requirement, common shares and retained earnings
should be a priority and form the predominant form of capital. To ensure the quality of this capital, the
Basel Committee should harmonize capital deductions and prudential filters (FSF BCBS, 2009). The
committee should also enhance the disclosure of the components of regulatory capital in order to
increase transparency within the system and avoid confusion in terms of the quality of capital
required.
(2) The Basel Committee should make adjustments to their framework to inhibit excessive cyclicality
of the minimum capital requirements
The Basel Committee has made a reasonable effort to mitigate this cyclicality already, by monitoring
the impact of cyclicality through data collection (via their Capital Monitoring Group). This data is
available every 6 months, and helps the committee monitor the extent to which the capital regime
reveals excessively high levels of capital cyclicality. In correspondence with this data monitoring, the
Basel Committee must review the ways in which cyclicality, arising from the Pillar 1 capital
requirement calculation, can be abated. They must try and maintain the risk sensitivity of the inputs,
but also create an emphasis on dampening the effects of cyclicality on the outputs. This way the

The Main Key Ideas Of Socrates Concern With The Betterment...
Introduction and Background:
The purpose behind this thesis is to identify the main key ideas of Socrates concern with the
betterment of the Soul. Highlighting the word Psyche as the soul which is immortal or imperishable.
Defining Soul as the main identity of a person, it is what defines a person, his acts and his mindset. He
added that every soul has happiness in it but not all choose to obtain it, not all the Souls take
advantage of it. Those souls that are wise and are truly happy, lead a genuine life containing
happiness. While the inverse, those who are not happy lead a life concerning the material possessions
and involving themselves in materialistic pleasure resulting in to dissatisfaction and ego in their
personalities. This makes these souls corrupt and diseased. Socrates; The Physician of the Soul
believed that people make choices either good or bad, they are unaware of how to choose to live in
happiness and fulfillment.
Socrates believes that betterment of the soul is main concern in philosophy and his core teachings are
the foundation for improvement for us.
Key Ideas or Theory:
In this chapter betterment of soul is further elaborated in the following key points;
Plato was credited with the quote An unexamined life is not worth living . It does, indeed, come from
Plato s Apology. The ideal of the examined life is noble. It sounds unobjectionable: an encouragement

Why Gluten Is Bad
Gluten is in everything. While some believe gluten diets are worth it, others will do it because a lot of
people are doing it. Gluten diets are not beneficial because it is needed for your immune system, and
the lack of fiber can hurt you.
First of all,The main reason why people need gluten is for their body s health. For example, people
need gluten specifically in the immune system. Gluten can help fight cancer in your Immune system.
High gluten bread improves triglyceride levels, which is good for your blood. One month of no gluten
can hurt your body. That s one reason why I think gluten diets are not worth it.

The Wrestler, By Darren Aronofsky Essay
The human condition, or what it means to be human, is a term the encoumpasses the innate and
unchangable aspects of human nature. It is the unique and inherent features of being human,
uninfluenced by factors such as race, class, gender or time. This idea has been examined through
literature for hundreds of years by the likes of Shakespeare, who through his philosophical depth has
given profound insights into human nature. As Noam Chomsky expressed it is quite possible
overwhelmingly probable, one might guess that we will always learn more about human life and
personality from novels than from scientific psychology. Darren Aronofsky s 2008 film The Wrestler,
due to its emotive exploration of what it means to be human, is strikingly compelling and speaks to the
audience on a human level. The film is a poignant portrayal of a washed up wrestler, Randy, in the
twilight of his career. Through Randy, Aronofsky is able to explore intrinsic characteristics that define
the human condition such as humans need for relationships and connections, search for recognition,
and awareness of the inevitability of death. Cormac McCarthy s The Road is an exemplary novel
which discusses the human condition and where these ideas are also seen. Texts that explore what it
means to be human are most compelling as they impart knowledge about aspects of human nature that
reside in us all, and rous strong feelings of interest among the reader or audience. Sociality is essential

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Technology And...
What do we understand from the word technology ? Technology is defined as the branch of
knowledge dealing with engineering or applied sciences. It originates from the Greek word
tekhnologia which means systematic treatment. In this modernised era, technology is a major part in
our society. People depend on technology with a growing need as it benefits many and solves
numerous problems in our daily life. However, for every advantage technology brings us, it also
brings disadvantages, especially in the aspects of creativity and communication. Creativity is the use
of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of artistic work. According to Rollo

For example, if a child had the capacity for expansive thought, and was able to readily engage
themselves in a variety of activities alternate to technology, they would have a constant need to be

writing skills will deteriorate significantly and vocabularies will shrink due to their minds being
unused with the information needed with use a flick of a hand over a phone screen. All in all,
creativity will benefit many who will use their imagination to educate themselves in creative ways.
Communication technology is a tool which allows the technology for communication. This technology
has a tremendous impact on the communication process. It has changed the face of the entire
communication process in today s world. Technology has revolutionized the way people
communicate, linking humans in a real time network across the globe. However, technology has also

Spongebob Vs. Squidward Tentacles
Nickelodeon s Spongebob Squarepants has two main characters, Spongebob (of course) and
Squidward Tentacles. The two have some similarities but many difference between each other. Even
though they both live under the sea and next neighbors, it s clear that they are two different characters.
One obvious difference between Mr. Tentacles and Squarepants is their appearance. For one,
Spongebob is a yellow sponge where Squidward is, well a gray squid. Spongebob has only four limbs
and Squidward has eight. One is a long, lanky character and the other is more of a short, stubby
individual. It s clear when you look at Spongebob, you see his white shirt, brown box pants, red tie,
white tube socks and black shoes. On the other hand, Squidward only ... Show more content on

Spongebob is a joyful character that loves life itself. Squidward just seems to mope and complain bout
everything. You can see how much Spongebob loves Squidward but he always knows to shut
Spongebob out of life. Squidward is more of a matured character because he doesn t goof around like
Spongebob does with his best friend, Patrick. Kind of explains why Squidward is continuously yelling
at him and telling him to grow up.
Spongebob and Squidward (like their personalities) have interest in absolutely two different things.
For example, Spongebob loves his job work as a fry cook as compared to Squidward, who hates the
fact that he even works as a cashier for Mr. Krabs. Spongebob loves to go jellyfishing with Patrick
while Squidward enjoy staying in his house to play his clarinet, Claire. When it comes to food,
Spongebob s favorite food is the Krabby Patty and jelly from jellyfish. Squidward s taste buds are
completely different because he likes the taste of bread in a can.

Matilda The Musical Analysis
Family friendly, heart tugging, hilarious, energy filled, Matilda the Musical does it all in this
unbelievable performance and is a must see for everyone. The humor is perfect for all ages and will

Matilda the Musical is currently playing in the beautiful Cambridge Theatre in London s West End

nonetheless. This show will have you laughing and talking about the performance for days to come!
Based on Roald Dahl s novel, Matilda is the story of an unwanted girl born to abusive parents, Mr. and

and immediately realized that Owens was a naturally gifted athlete who had not yet taken up serious
training. Riley started a rigorous training program for Owens in special morning sessions before
school. Within a year, Owens was running the 100 yard dash in eleven seconds and in 1928 he set two
world records for his age group in the high jump, at six feet, and the long jump, at twenty two feet,
eleven and three quarters inches. Under Riley s instruction to run as though the track were on fire,
Owens also improved his times on the track. Of the seventy nine races he entered in high school,
Owens won seventy five of them. Owens also formed a warm personal relationship off the track with
Riley, who continued to coach him after he entered East Technical High School in 1930. After Henry
Owens suffered a traffic accident in 1929 and experienced extended periods of unemployment in the
Great Depression, Riley s role as a surrogate father was especially important to the young athlete.

casino brands have been introduced to Russian shores. But not only that, the Russian Government

With increased innovation in VR technology on the way, it is clear that how online casinos conduct
themselves from a marketing perspective was a notable a hot topic. Furthering that, mobile casino

Unconventional Approach
Technically RACE 2015 had no headline speaker, but most seems to attach such title to Tal Itshak
Ron. His presentation drew the biggest crowd, largely as he addressed to underlying issues within the
industry to a great extent. Key to his speech was the niche and more unconventional online casinos
that have emerged. He discussed the validity of the concepts that many of these casinos represent,
along with how key they are to industry landscape diversity. Bitcoin was another issue placed under
the spotlight, as he discussed how it could change how the industry functions in the years to come.
RACE 2015 Awards
Obviously, as with any congress or expo these days there is an award ceremony incorporated into
proceedings. The awards at RACE have become highly coveted, largely as they stand as a symbol of
industry excellence. This year 9 different awards were handed out, with each award seemingly as
coveted as the last. The most prominent award from a marketing perspective went to BETCART, who

How Is Technology Changing Tv Narrative
As Alan Coren once joked, Television is more interesting than people. If it were not, we would have
people standing in the corners of our rooms ( Alan Coren Quotes ). From Good Morning America to
Gossip Girl, television offers its viewers an immense variety of programs to keep its audience not only
entertained but also glued to their TV set for hours everyday. Throughout his video, How is
Technology Changing TV Narrative, Mike Rugnetta uses a multitude of comedic examples to argue
that television narratives are more complex today because of time shifting technology. Mike Rugnetta
is the host of the Idea Channel, a PBS web series, as well as a performance lecturer for Meme Factory
where he educates people about the Internet ( Mike Rugnetta: Ask Meme Another ). In his Idea
Channel videos, Rugnetta is able to use unconventional methods to educate his audience. Although
pop up cartoons and comedic input weakens his organization, Rugnetta s style of interaction engages
his audience effectively through his ability to address his audience s questions and make the audience
understand the information through humor.
Rugnetta s use of pop up cartoons and humor allows him to take complex theories and make them
simpler for his audience to understand. Rugnetta s idea that TV shows are written in series rather than
episodes today because of new time shifting technology can not only be uninteresting but also
puzzling for his viewers. However, Rugnetta introduces this idea by suggesting

Persuasive Essay On Ketchup
Everyone else in the world still thinks of American food as ketchup. Jose Andres Puerta Most of us
cannot imagine a world without ketchup. This strange red substance is the lifeblood of fast food
everywhere. Nothing that taste good cannot be helped by ketchup and because of this simple truth
there are a number of things that can be cooked with it. I thought that the only time that I would not
see a bottle of the stuff was during Thanksgiving dinner and then this year my little girl demanded that
some of it be put on her turkey. Think of it ketchup on that perfect slice of turkey that I spent seven
hours carefully basting with butter and delicious turkey juice. (Okay fine, I know that turkey juice is

Back to the point of this chapter, I am hear to tell you about ketchup and how it can help you to make
awesome meals. I am going to do this with recipes. Recipes are these magical things that we in the
cooking world use to create meals. We may cook these meals in a ancient device called an oven or
even on top of this magical kitchen appliance using the burners. We may even use a microwave (I
have a best selling book on microwave cooking just thought I would mention it). You will find thirty
recipes in this book instead of the hundreds that are published in many other books. The reason why I
refuse to included more than fifty recipes in any cookbook is that you do not need a ton of recipes
once you got the basics down. Also, like many things in life, the important stuff can be covered in five
minutes instead of a state of the union address. I try my best to condense it down to the go to recipes
rather than a bunch of recipes that hopefully will never see the inside of your oven. If you want to
make lasagna with eggplants, mac and cheese and ketchup go right ahead and if I did not find the
thought of it repulsive I would tell you how to do

Relativity Of Truth In Life Of Pi
Life of Pi: The Relativity of Truth
The relativity of truth refers to truth relativism, which is the doctrine that there are no absolute truths.
The truth is always relative to some particular frame of reference. An example of truth relativism is
the The Dress trend which went viral because viewers disagreed over whether the colors of the dress
were black and blue or gold and white. Because of how a human perceives the color, it could be either
of these colors based on how a person sees it. The relativity of truth in the Life of Pi includes and
refers to the Blind Frenchman , the algae island, and which story Pi told the interviewers was true.
To begin, when Pi went blind in chapter 90 and practically gave up on surviving, he heard a voice. It s
astonishing what you hear when you re alone in the blackness of your dying mind. (Martel, Pg 242).
To people, this could refer to Pi hearing an actual person or it could just be a figment of his
imagination. Misery loves company, and madness calls it forth. (Martel, Pg 242). This adds to the
theory that the voice Pi heard was just a figment of his imagination. Further on in the novel, Pi meets
and speaks to the Blind Frenchman after figuring out that it wasn t Richard Parker he was talking to.
Later on, Richard Parker killed the Frenchman and Pi explored his boat, finding out that the
Frenchman had lied to him about having food. What doesn t add up is that Pi regained his eyesight
two days after the Frenchman s murder and when he went to check out the dead man s boat, he was
still blind. This could mean that Pi didn t actually go on the Frenchman s boat but was actually
exploring his boat and that the man was a figment of his imagination to suppress the loneliness Pi was
feeling.
Furthermore, in chapter 92, Pi discovers an algae island with food to eat and land to settle on. Pi stated
...that the island was not an island in the conventional sense of the term that is, a small landmass
rooted to the floor of the ocean but was rather a free floating organism... (Martel, Pg 271 272). One
could assume that this wasn t an actual island, but something that Pi made up to add depth to the story
he was telling or this was an island that has never been

Group Orientation Research Paper
Methods of Preparing/Orienting Members Group orientation is a crucial step in establishing a safe and
nurturing environment for all members. Group leaders will give an overview of the group and its
purpose of developing a support system of women who have given up a child or children for adoption.
Members and group leaders will be asked to introduce themselves and group expectations will be
discussed. Group leaders will stress the importance of confidentiality, what is said in group must stay
in group. Members will also be reminded that this group is a support group so supportive
encouragement is encouraged whereas negativity is discouraged. The Group Setting (Structural
Physical) This group is geared to provide support for women who have placed their child/children up
for adoption. Due to the subject matter, the group will remain closed so that the women can build
trusting relationships with one another throughout the group sessions. The familiarity of group
members will create a more welcoming environment for processing feelings and emotions. Group
membership will be voluntary since not all women who give children up for adoption cope in the same
way and therefore a group setting may not be beneficial for everyone. The support group room will be
warm and welcoming but not constricting. The room size will be large enough to comfortably fit ...

the confidentiality of what is shared by other group members (Workers, N. A., 2008). All members,

Women s Anger Research Paper
Life is like balancing a scale, and every shift in life is a function of the display or the demonstration of
power. Power is a force that governs everything in life, and out of the many forms of power, anger is
one form often dismissed. Anger is a type of power generated from the feeling of inequality aimed at
balancing out an uneven scale the victim feels. For a long time in history, women have been unequally
treated, discriminated against, and subdued in spite of their attempt to change the gender inequality
they experience. Their actions are being characterized as having temper tantrums, excessive rage and
often times, mental instability. The anger in women, fueled by gender inequality, is a display of their
power. This paper explores the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women s anger is considered an unjustified, futile claim that originates from an unintelligible object
who has no position or rights to be respected. Frye believes anger is an instrument that aids in
articulating one s power. However, women s anger is not viewed as a valid emotion because women
are not considered valid people, which thereby fails to convey their power. Without the ability to
declare their power and change this unequal standard, women remain demeaned and thus continuing
this cycle of gender

Poverty influences
Poverty is one of the main problem in the world, either developed country or developing country.
Poverty both influence developed country, America and developing country, Mexico. In The
Absolutely True Diary of a Part time Indian and The Devil s Highway, they both facing the poverty
issue. Sherman Alexie is telling us about the Indian American living in a hard life and Luis Alberto
Urrea is telling us about the poor Mexican people migrating to United States for gaining wealth. Both
of the two stories meets the same problem which is poverty forcing them to make change. The path to
success are tough and hard, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Comparing these two story, both Indian and Mexican are poor. Their poverty makes them living bad.
Therefore, Arnold wants to leave the Indian reservation and Mexican wants to migrant to America.
Their common target is to leave poor and achieve goodness. Although their original attention are
familiar, their way to success are painful in different ways. Rowdy is the toughest kid on the rez. He is
long and lean and strong like a snake. His heart is as strong and mean as a snake, too. But he is my
best human friend and he cares about me, so he would always tell me the truth.
And he is right. Nobody would miss me if I was gone. (Sherman Alexie 32). Arnold has paid his best
friend for leaving Indian reservation. On the other hand, it can be seen that Arnold has made up his
mind to leave the reservation. It is clearly shows that Arnold has endured poverty so much. For the
Mexicans, the blocks before migrant America are much more difficult than they expected.
By way of this letter, I ask forgiveness and pardon for what happed in the Arizona desert, because I
really am sorry from the bottom of my heart for what happened and it honestly wasn t my intention to
lead those people to their deaths. Rather, my intention was to help them cross the border. But we never
imagined the tragedy would happen. (Urrea 68)
From this situation it is clear to the audiences that the leader who can help Mexicans to cross

Additionally, Costco has its own brand named Kirkland Signature. This store label produces juice,
cookies, coffee, spices, tires, house wares, luggage, appliances, clothing, and detergent. The markup
here is at fifteen percent, which still result for the wholesale company to be five percent lower than
comparables named brand. The production selection is limited to 4,000 items classified in these
category: rotisserie chicken, prime steaks, caviar, flat screen TVs, digital camera, fresh flowers, fines
wines, caskets, baby strollers, toys and games, musical instruments, ceiling fans, vacuum cleaners,
books, DVDs, chandelier, stainless steel cookware, seat cover kits, for auto, prescription drugs,
gasoline, and one hour photo finishing. Although the range can appear wide, only a few products by
category are available. Those ones are fast selling models, sizes, and colors. It is a really good
strategy, because it appeals to a variety of element. Commons goods like soft drinks are sold only by
big containers, case, carton, or multiple pack, not individually. The last element is the

market amp;quot; at a discount price. While some manufacturers do not want to have their product at
Costco, because the low pricing strategy can hurt the image, others just do not have any issue with
that. This is why it is easy to get big international brand. The treasure hunt strategy consists of

Film Analysis Of The Critique Of William Shakespeare
The playwright is William Shakespeare. The director is Melissa Chalsma. The actors are: Duke
Vincento, later in disguise, as Friar Lodovico is David Melville. Angelo, his chosen deputy is William
Elsman. Isabella, a novitiate of the church is Kalean Ung. Claudio, her brother is Evan Lewis Smith.
Juliet, his beloved is Donna Zadeh. Lucio, a nobleman of Vienna is Nikhil Pai. Gentleman and women
are Bukola Ogunmela, April Fritz, and Nathan Nonhof. Mistress Overdone, a local businesswoman is
Xavi Moreno. Pompey Bum, her bawd is Lorenzo Gonzalez. Francisca, a nun is Bukola Ogunmola.
Friar Peter is Patrick Batiste. Provost, in command of the prison is Joseph Culliton. Elbow, a constable
is Richard Azurdia. Froth, a gentleman of Vienna is Patrick Batiste. Abhorson, an executioner is
Nathan Nonhof. Barnardine, a murderer is Xavi Moreno. Mariana, a gentlewoman of Vienna is April
Fritz. A Musician is Donna Zadeh. The name of the play, I saw was Measure for Measure. The
Independent Shakespeare Company at the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival hosted the play. I
saw it on July 7, 2017. During the play, I noticed a few different themes. Some of the theme I noticed
was justice, lying, mortality, and sin. Justice was present through the whole play; in fact, it was the
heart and soul of the play. Justice was present when Claudio was sentenced to be killed and the Duke
allowed Angelo to change Vienna s laws.
Measure for Measure to me was an interesting and convincing play. The part that worked the best was
when the Duke disguising himself as Friar. I would of never known the disguise without the program.
Another bit that worked well was when Claudio was arrested and sentenced to death. The opening,
when the Duke did the announcements, it was hilarious. The part where I felt scared was after Claudio
had sex with Juliet. The part where I felt sad was when Claudio was sentenced to death. Overall the
characters were entertaining. Most of the characters were genuine. The productions had a religious
message for the audience. The message was not to have sex before marriage.
The characters were all believable. The two characters that stuck out the most to me were Claudio,
Evan Lewis Smith and Abhorson, Nathan Nonhof. Evan

Columbus and Cortes encounters Native and Meso Americans...
1A COMPARISON OF THE NATIVE AMERICANS ENCOUNTERED BY COULUMBUS ON
THE ISLANDS OF THE CARIBBEAN WITH THE ENCOUNTERED BY CORTES IN THE MESO
AMERICA.
In the Age of Exploration these are two of the recorded encounters of Native Americans and here is
my comparison of those encounters. Each encounter was by a different explorer and were 27 years
apart as well as many miles apart. With each encounter comes a difference in sophistication and how
technologically advanced the Native Americans by Hernando Cortes in the Meso America to those of
the Native Americans encountered by Christopher Columbus on the islands of the Caribbean. The
main differences revolved around how their weapons were made, what constituted housing for each
group, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To Columbus the Natives did not seem to be sophisticated or technologically advanced in his
encounters with them. Some of them lived in villages with houses built in the shape of tents and the
only architectural structures that I can recall being describes were these houses and the very high
chimneys. They did know how to make cotton thread and traded these twenty five pounds of thread
with the Spaniards and the they wore pieces of gold in their noses, wearing it in bracelets on their
arms and legs. They traveled by canoes on the water and by foot on land and lived off the fruits from
the land as well as fish, shellfish and birds. Most did not wear clothes and if they did it was by
determined who wore what by status and age. At some island they saw cotton cloth covering some of
the women. Some of the people did have the same language and customs as from the other islands
visited on this voyage and appeared more civilized than others.
Hernando Cortes landed in Mexico in 1519 and entered Tenochtitlan, city of the Aztecs. The Native
Americans here welcomed the Spaniards into the city with the belief that the Sun god had returned to
save the people and allowed them to stay for some time there and apparently to move about most areas
of the city freely. These Natives did display a much more sophisticated and technologically advance
society

Pop Culture Study
Pop culture is a large aspect of modern society and therefore its study should be addressed similarly to
the study of history and art because of the political messages it can demonstrate, the influences
celebrities have on the current generation, and the stereotypes and lifestyles emulated which greatly
influence us from a consumerist point of view.
Pop culture, in particular television and film, very often will reflect the political status of the world
during the time in which it was produced: Saturday Night Live has recurring Donald Trump skits
featuring Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer who s original sketch has been viewed over sixteen

Stereotypes Of Today s Meeting
Hello, everyone,
I am emailing you because I am disappointed with the turnout of today s meeting. As president of the
club, it is my job to make sure all board members are pushing their own weight.
I understand you may not able to attend all the meetings, but you need to get into the habit of
informing another board member of your absence. It makes it difficult on myself as well as the other
board members when several of you do not show. Also, please only miss meetings if you absolutely
have to. I understand having to attend class or work but deciding you do not want to show up because
you just do not feel like it is disrespectful and inappropriate in your position.

The Prevalence Of Manifestations Of Falciparum Malaria Essay
Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out the prevalence of neurological manifestations of
falciparum malaria and the outcome of falciparum malaria in general and of neurological involvement
of falciparum malaria in particular.
Materials and Methods:
A prospective cross sectional hospital based study of 125 adult falciparum malaria patients using
simple, direct, standardized questionnaire including history, lab investigations and neurological
examination from January to December 2014.
Results:
The commonest age group affected was 15 30 years (62.4%). 48.6% presented with neurological
manifestations on admission. Altered sensorium was the most frequent neurological manifestation,
followed by convulsions and hiccups. The mortality rate was very high with neurological
manifestations. Case fatality rate was highest with convulsion. Perception about neurological
manifestation was poor among tribal. Health care providers also failed to diagnose on initial visit.
Conclusion:
Falciperum malaria with neurological involvement is associated with increased mortality. By
documenting different neurological patterns of falciparum malaria mortality and morbidity rates can
be reduced by early diagnosis and management. Tribals and health personnel should be trained to
make them aware of the different neurological presentations of this disabling disease.
Key words:
Falciparum malaria, neurological complications, mortality.

  • 2. THE MERIT CORPORATION 1 THE MERIT CORPORATION Family owned and operated for three generations, the Merit Corporation manufactured and sold children s furniture. John Kirschner, Merit s CEO and grandson of the company s founder, was actively involved with every aspect of the firm s operations. Now, as he was considering early retirement in the next few years, he began to think about his legacy for the future. Merit s headquarters and the biggest of its three manufacturing plants were located in an industrial park 10 miles outside of Boston. Merit shared the large six story building with several small firms, having its corporate offices on the second and third floors. Employees began work promptly at 8:30 a.m. and most left before 6:00 p.m. A devout family man, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kirschner, who had attracted the above individuals based on his compelling vision that they would be doing something completely different and of vital importance, believed that the group would be most effective if given extensive freedom and encouragement. The only things he required from it was a biweekly progress report, so that the executive committee could be kept abreast of its activities, and a monthly financial report. Group members were free to work as they wished; as long as they focused their energies on coming up with viable ideas for durable, multipurpose children s furniture products those consumers would consider a good value. The only structure he imposed was having one person report directly to him. Thus, he appointed Kane the group head, in large measure because Kane was the first to be hired, but also because he had made such a positive impression on him. When the eight people began work at Merit, they did not know each other. Given Kirschner s rather broad mandate, they also did not know what they would be expected to do on a daily basis. They soon discovered that they had different ideas not only about what they should do, but also about how they should approach their work. Those like Jacobson, who had worked in large corporate environments in the past, were the most outspoken about how the group should approach its task. He was a proponent of a more systematic approach. Kiris was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Principle Of Equity Law INTRODUCTION Contract is a part of our everyday life. We might not be aware of it but simply buying your lunch involves an agreement between you, as the buyer, and the seller. The contract is an agreement between two or more parties under which legal rights and obligations are created which will be enforced in courts. In addition, law of contract is all about the concepts relevant to the development, implementation and violation of the agreement. On the other hand, equity law is a set of rules exercised if there is no appeasement based on the common law of contract. Here, the court is given the right and freedom to use their own discretion in giving just and appropriate decisions. So, the principle of equity is applied when the common law of contract is not sufficient to give objective and fair judgement. But when would one say it s not adequate? How can it be perceived as unfair? What is the basis of this fair mindedness? Is this really justice? ANALYSIS Technically, if we look at the law of contract, there are a lot of loopholes that can be detected to escape from obligations. A mere breach of the essential requirements or conditions of an agreement can make the promisor be free from punishment provided he pays for the damages the other party had suffered. Easy right? Especially if you have the extra money to spare and just laugh about it afterward. This is where the equity law butt in and the court can apply various equitable remedies to the disadvantageous ones. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Comparison Of Willy Loman And Death Of A Salesman Arthur Millers Death of a Salesman is considered to be both a playwright s masterpiece, and a cornerstone contemporary American drama. The subtitles consist of a central private conversation in two of the acts and a requiem. The play was first introduced in 1949 and begin to strike an immediate emotional chord with audiences. The work of the play would receive numerous awards, and honors, including the most important one the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle award. Both plays ran 742 performances on Broadway. The premiere Death of a Salesman became one of the most performed and adapted plays in American theatrical history. • 5. The Application Of Quantitative, Quantitative And Mixed... Abstract The primary goal of this study is to systematize the knowledge about different research methodological approaches applied in high ranked academic journals in the area of Business Management. The essay will examine the application of qualitative, quantitative and mixed research methods in journals, assess their usefulness and present the results of the analysis. An examination of research methods and research design will identify trends in research methodologies employed in journals and try to explain the reason of its application in academic papers. Key words: qualitative research, quantitative research, mixed method research, methodology Introduction Defining a case study method indicates the problem and entails finding a solution to solve it. However, to answer the research questions it is vital to demonstrate deep consideration of the elements related to particular research design, and to show the ability to reflect upon research philosophy and approach to theory (Easterby Smith et al., 2012; Eisendhardt, 1989). In business and management research a regular investigation not only leads to solving business problems, but also contributes to management knowledge (Edmondson and McManus, 2016). • 7. There Will Come Soft Rain Analysis Technology is a useful servant, but a dangerous master, a quote said by Christian Lous Lange. I find it astounding how attached we are to our technological devices.Technology has attached itself to us and infiltrated our lives. Moreover, we walk around as if technology is cane for us to lean on. If we aren t careful, we could become too dependent on that cane to the point where it becomes a wheelchair. Also, in The Veldt, by Ray Bradbury, the children in the story become so dependent on technology to do everything for them, that they can t even perform basic everyday tasks without the help of technology. Consequently, we are willingly falling into a trap set for us by technology. It is time for us to decide whether or not we are going to start fighting back or not. Do we want to just become submissive to technology and let it eat us whole? The differences between the two texts, by Ray Bradbury, The Veldt and There Will Come Soft Rain are evident, but the similarities are striking. In the first place, technology is taking over and controlling our lives and one reason why it is, is because we depend on technology to perform simple tasks for us. In both The Veldt and There Will Come Soft Rains, the humans of those stories have a deep emotional connection to technology that they wouldn t know what to do if it was taken away from them. In this section, we shall briefly visit this literature and see if any conclusions can be drawn from this, before proceeding to the conclusion and mitigation of these procyclical effects. The majority of the literature, as expected, focuses primarily on the IRB approach, as this aspect of Basel II has drawn the most criticism from financial practitioners and academics alike. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is the biggest problem, and has to be addressed correctly once economic conditions are conducive to do so. Within the specified Tier 1 requirement, common shares and retained earnings should be a priority and form the predominant form of capital. To ensure the quality of this capital, the Basel Committee should harmonize capital deductions and prudential filters (FSF BCBS, 2009). The committee should also enhance the disclosure of the components of regulatory capital in order to increase transparency within the system and avoid confusion in terms of the quality of capital required. (2) The Basel Committee should make adjustments to their framework to inhibit excessive cyclicality of the minimum capital requirements The Basel Committee has made a reasonable effort to mitigate this cyclicality already, by monitoring the impact of cyclicality through data collection (via their Capital Monitoring Group). This data is available every 6 months, and helps the committee monitor the extent to which the capital regime reveals excessively high levels of capital cyclicality. In correspondence with this data monitoring, the Basel Committee must review the ways in which cyclicality, arising from the Pillar 1 capital requirement calculation, can be abated. They must try and maintain the risk sensitivity of the inputs, but also create an emphasis on dampening the effects of cyclicality on the outputs. This way the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is the unique and inherent features of being human, uninfluenced by factors such as race, class, gender or time. This idea has been examined through literature for hundreds of years by the likes of Shakespeare, who through his philosophical depth has given profound insights into human nature. As Noam Chomsky expressed it is quite possible overwhelmingly probable, one might guess that we will always learn more about human life and personality from novels than from scientific psychology. Darren Aronofsky s 2008 film The Wrestler, due to its emotive exploration of what it means to be human, is strikingly compelling and speaks to the audience on a human level. The film is a poignant portrayal of a washed up wrestler, Randy, in the twilight of his career. Through Randy, Aronofsky is able to explore intrinsic characteristics that define the human condition such as humans need for relationships and connections, search for recognition, and awareness of the inevitability of death. The two have some similarities but many difference between each other. Even though they both live under the sea and next neighbors, it s clear that they are two different characters. One obvious difference between Mr. Tentacles and Squarepants is their appearance. For one, Spongebob is a yellow sponge where Squidward is, well a gray squid. Spongebob has only four limbs and Squidward has eight. One is a long, lanky character and the other is more of a short, stubby individual. Athletic Success as a Teenager Owens enrolled in Cleveland s Fairmount Junior High School around 1927 and quickly attracted the attention of a mentor who would prove crucial in his future athletic success. Charles Riley worked at the school as a physical education teacher and track and field coach and immediately realized that Owens was a naturally gifted athlete who had not yet taken up serious training. Riley started a rigorous training program for Owens in special morning sessions before school. Within a year, Owens was running the 100 yard dash in eleven seconds and in 1928 he set two world records for his age group in the high jump, at six feet, and the long jump, at twenty two feet, eleven and three quarters inches. Under Riley s instruction to run as though the track were on fire, Owens also improved his times on the track. Of the seventy nine races he entered in high school, Owens won seventy five of them. Owens also formed a warm personal relationship off the track with Riley, who continued to coach him after he entered East Technical High School in 1930. After Henry Owens suffered a traffic accident in 1929 and experienced extended periods of unemployment in the Great Depression, Riley s role as a surrogate father was especially important to the young athlete. If it were not, we would have people standing in the corners of our rooms ( Alan Coren Quotes ). From Good Morning America to Gossip Girl, television offers its viewers an immense variety of programs to keep its audience not only entertained but also glued to their TV set for hours everyday. Throughout his video, How is Technology Changing TV Narrative, Mike Rugnetta uses a multitude of comedic examples to argue that television narratives are more complex today because of time shifting technology. Mike Rugnetta is the host of the Idea Channel, a PBS web series, as well as a performance lecturer for Meme Factory where he educates people about the Internet ( Mike Rugnetta: Ask Meme Another ). In his Idea Channel videos, Rugnetta is able to use unconventional methods to educate his audience. Although pop up cartoons and comedic input weakens his organization, Rugnetta s style of interaction engages his audience effectively through his ability to address his audience s questions and make the audience understand the information through humor. Rugnetta s use of pop up cartoons and humor allows him to take complex theories and make them simpler for his audience to understand. • 23. Relativity Of Truth In Life Of Pi Life of Pi: The Relativity of Truth The relativity of truth refers to truth relativism, which is the doctrine that there are no absolute truths. The truth is always relative to some particular frame of reference. An example of truth relativism is the The Dress trend which went viral because viewers disagreed over whether the colors of the dress were black and blue or gold and white. Because of how a human perceives the color, it could be either of these colors based on how a person sees it. The relativity of truth in the Life of Pi includes and refers to the Blind Frenchman , the algae island, and which story Pi told the interviewers was true. To begin, when Pi went blind in chapter 90 and practically gave up on surviving, he heard a voice. It s astonishing what you hear when you re alone in the blackness of your dying mind. (Martel, Pg 242). To people, this could refer to Pi hearing an actual person or it could just be a figment of his imagination. Misery loves company, and madness calls it forth. (Martel, Pg 242). This adds to the theory that the voice Pi heard was just a figment of his imagination. Further on in the novel, Pi meets and speaks to the Blind Frenchman after figuring out that it wasn t Richard Parker he was talking to. Later on, Richard Parker killed the Frenchman and Pi explored his boat, finding out that the Frenchman had lied to him about having food. What doesn t add up is that Pi regained his eyesight two days after the Frenchman s murder and when he went to check out the dead man s boat, he was still blind. This could mean that Pi didn t actually go on the Frenchman s boat but was actually exploring his boat and that the man was a figment of his imagination to suppress the loneliness Pi was feeling. Furthermore, in chapter 92, Pi discovers an algae island with food to eat and land to settle on. Pi stated ...that the island was not an island in the conventional sense of the term that is, a small landmass rooted to the floor of the ocean but was rather a free floating organism... (Martel, Pg 271 272). One could assume that this wasn t an actual island, but something that Pi made up to add depth to the story he was telling or this was an island that has never been ... The Independent Shakespeare Company at the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival hosted the play. I saw it on July 7, 2017. During the play, I noticed a few different themes. Some of the theme I noticed was justice, lying, mortality, and sin. Justice was present through the whole play; in fact, it was the heart and soul of the play. Justice was present when Claudio was sentenced to be killed and the Duke allowed Angelo to change Vienna s laws. Measure for Measure to me was an interesting and convincing play. The part that worked the best was when the Duke disguising himself as Friar. I would of never known the disguise without the program. Another bit that worked well was when Claudio was arrested and sentenced to death. The opening, when the Duke did the announcements, it was hilarious. The part where I felt scared was after Claudio had sex with Juliet. The part where I felt sad was when Claudio was sentenced to death. Overall the characters were entertaining. Most of the characters were genuine. The productions had a religious message for the audience. The message was not to have sex before marriage. The characters were all believable. They did know how to make cotton thread and traded these twenty five pounds of thread with the Spaniards and the they wore pieces of gold in their noses, wearing it in bracelets on their arms and legs. They traveled by canoes on the water and by foot on land and lived off the fruits from the land as well as fish, shellfish and birds.
