Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems
Data Indexing
Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to
handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL
(Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace
technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object in
CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via ltree
structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way. This
structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes.

All the communication between the master web worker and slave web workers are made in a message
passing fashion. At (2), master web worker distributes the URL list of the data segments across the
slave web workers which are created in the loading event of the web page. onmessage is an event
handler that is called when the message is posted to the corresponding web worker. In onmessage
handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web worker, then
each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage, again, by means
of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the retrieval of the data
segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master web worker (4). Index of the
data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache created by the master web worker.
Because the data is passed to the master web worker using pointers, there is no data copy overhead.
Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval operations, the master web worker writes out the cache
to the hard disk (5). The downside of this technique the total amount of retrieved data is limited by the
RAM capacity of the user, although we anticipate this feature to be introduced in the future as a part of
HTML standard with the introduction of the File API:

Overtones In To Kill A Mockingbird
Harper Lee is a fan of using subtle undertones and overtones everywhere in her book To Kill a
Mockingbird. A good example of this is with the quote Sometimes the Bible in the hand of one man is
worse than a whiskey bottle in the hand of [another]...There are just some kind of men...who re so
busy worrying about the next world they ve never learned to live in this one, and you can look down
the street and see the results. (pg. 60). This quote, as a stand alone, gets gears turning, but once it s
paired with the rest of the book, it gives an entirely new perspective on a problem that so many people
ignore or don t notice. Her book is completely littered with examples that back up this quote and it s
intended meaning. A few examples of this is when the foot washers call Miss Maudie and her flowers
a sin, when the foot washers quote scripture to Miss Maudie and she quotes some right back, when
Mrs. Farrow talks about the blacks as if they are wild animals, when Mrs. Merriweather talks about
the cooks and field hands grumbling after Tom s Trials and when Jem is explaining to Dill why
Dolphus Raymond is somewhat of a town outcast.
Some of the extremely devout people (the foot washers for example), tend to be more worried about
the next life instead of enjoying the one they currently have. By preferring to be inside reading the
Bible instead of outdoors enjoying life and wanting others to do the same, they show how the Bible
gives the ability to be scrutinized less by peers. But

Concussion Frameworks For Concussions
There are enough concussion protocols to determine a concussion, but there are not enough protocols
for preventing concussions for Football Athletes. The SCAT5 Assessment Tool does provide beneficial
and accurate tests to determine concussions. The protocols for recovery and return to play are very
detailed and straightforward so there is no further damage or impairments to the brain. Although,
concussions are still happening at high rates, especially in football because they are not being fully
prevented, they are only being treated after they happen. The SCAT5 Assessment Tool, also known as
Sport Concussion Assessment Tool, is a variety of tests for athletes, given by an AT or physician, to
determine whether an athlete has a concussion. The SCAT5 Tool is made up of the On Field
Assessment and the Off Field Assessment . Some tests that make up the On Field Assessment are
determining any Red Flags or obvious signs of a concussion such as double vision, nausea, headache,
fogginess , and memory loss. This section is also made up of testing the athlete s memory, using the
Glasgow Coma Scale , and a Cervical Spine Assessment. The tests and sections that make up the Off
Field Assessment are the athletes general information and background information, evaluating the
athlete s symptoms and the severity of the symptoms, Cognitive Screenings, and Neurological
Screenings. When done correctly, the SCAT5 Assessment Tool is a very valuable tool to determine

Opposing Views Of Zhuang Zi s Philosophical Perspectives
Zhuang Zi was born in Song State in 375 BC, and he is supposed to have died at the age of 75.
Zhuang is credited with establishing the classical Dao School, and he was a prominent historian. His
writing presents profound truths on how individuals should view life and other objects in their
environment. In particular, it is possible to evaluate different issues based on the philosophical
perspectives of Zhuang. Furthermore, looking at other things, based on the other individuals
perspectives can be instrumental in enhancing people understanding of specific issues. As a result,
Zhuang theory provides a rationale for solving challenges based on an in depth creative thinking. On

Society as a whole is now more geared towards the use of internet and video games. Victorians weren

an active fire to pull out small objects, all the while with the possibility of being burnt. This game
should be handled with extreme caution and adult supervision. To start off this game, the player would
need to fill a waterproof bowl with Brandy, or other flammable liquid, and place various household
ingredients, including various fruits, almonds, and a handful of raisins. With players scattered around
the bowl, each one of them will take turns sticking their hands inside. They all try to pull out as much
as they can within the small timeframe of them getting burnt. When each player has taken their turn to
pull objects out of the flaming bowl, they will then proceed to count how many of the miscellaneous
pieces of food are in their hand. When done counting, each player will go around stating how many of
the various pieces of food are in their hand, tracking of scores if required. When each player is done
counting, and the winner is determined, then it s said to be that whoever the winner is, will be the first

Cub The Most Beautiful Thing Human Eyes
Cuba
How would you like to travel to the wonderful country of Cuba? Christopher Columbus described it as
the most beautiful thing human eyes have ever seen! Along with its rich culture, Cuba also has an
aggressive history, flat geography, harsh government, rich culture, and a poor economy. First, Cuba is
known for having an aggressive history. During Cuba s beginning, Christopher Columbus landed in
Cuba in 1492. Many years later there was a measles outbreak in 1529 which killed most of the
population at that time. A few hundred years later, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes led a rebellion to free
Cuba in 1868. In 1898 Spain and the U.S. sign the treaty of Paris. In addition to Cuba s formative
years, it has several newsworthy events. Cuba fought many wars like the ten years wars in 1868 1880
and the Little War in 1879 1880. In 1875 Cuba ended slavery. Thereafter, Cuba fought for their
independence against Spain in 1895 1898. On October 13th, 1910 a horrible hurricane called the
Cyclone of the Five Days, hit the country, and nine hundred people died. Cuba suffered against
another hurricane, Hurricane Flora in 1963 were 1,000 Cubans lost their lives. In 1956, Fidel Castro
Ruz launched a revolution from the Sierra Maestra mountains. The U.S. ended military help to Cuba
in 1958, and on New Year s Day 1959, Batista fled into exile and Castro took over the government.

How Did The Lodz Ghetto Affect The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a time when Jews were sent to concentration camps and force to work. There were
some people who had hope to live and had survived till the very end but there were people who lost
hope and died. Lodz ghetto was a laboring camp the had both Jews and Non Jews. Non Jews suffered
in the Holocaust alongside those of Jewish faith because they were sent to ghettos like the Lodz
Ghetto.
The Lodz ghetto was one of the many ghettos with the purpose of hard laboring. Lodz was crowded
area populated with about 160,000 Jews and was enclosed with barbed wire fencing on all sides incase
if anybody tries to escape. The evidence proves that they had to live in a harsh condition not being
able to breathe because of how crowded it was. The Lodz ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the holocaust, non Jews experienced very hard times and some non Jews started using black
market ration cards to get food and the Germans says they sold
(them) at profiteering prices ( Maria ). As a result, The non Jews, once they are arrested, were sent to
Auschwitz and were place in the Bunker of Death to get exterminated day by day, but some were able
to escape this and were sent to labor camps or ghettos. They were cruel to kill innocent people just
because they had black market ration cards to survive during the holocaust. Using a black market
ration cards was very scary, because there is no way to tell when they were getting caught.
Living in a ghetto was worse that living outside without enough food. Living in the ghetto was tough
for the people because hard labor(ing), over crowding, and starvation were the dominant features of
life and as a result 20 percent of the ghetto s population died. ( Lodz ). The Nazi s didn t care who
died. It must have been that bad for about 20% of the population to die because of starvation and
crowding. Most of the workers in the ghetto worked in the German Factories and received barely any
food ration and they didn t have any running water or a sewer system which made life even harder
than not having enough food. There is no way for an average human these days to not have any

Writer s Memo On Marginalization And Argumentative Writing
Writer s Memo
During this week s draft our topic was marginalization. Marginalization is to put someone into a social
group such as their gender, or how able the are to do something,or their age, their race, etc. In today s
draft I decided to write about racial slurs. My goal for this piece was to bring some awareness to the
topic and debate about the n word.My intended heartbeat was heart ache (slow and painful). Today I
tried to use the claim data warrant method to organize my writing. I don t think I accomplished the
organization.

Selma March Research Paper
The Selma marches have had an immense impact on United States history. In 1964, the Civil Rights
Act was passed. Even after its passing, many southern states were still segregated and nothing really
changed. The Selma marches were three marches that protested the state of Alabama for its
discrimination against African Americans. The state of Alabama made it hard for African Americans to
register to vote and even the few who were registered had a hard time voting. These marches had a big
impact on African Americans living the United States. Because of the Selma marches, LBJ signed the
Voting Rights Act in 1965. This was an important milestone for African Americans getting equal

The Virtue Of Civil Disobedience
The clock struck noon. Harry automatically put his head down when the orderlies entered the room.
He realized that avoidance wouldn t help, but self preservation was instinctual. At the top of every
hour, they had entered the waiting room. Their white smocks stained a bit redder than when they last
left. It was all very routine; the clock strikes, two people enter, three people leave. It would continue
until there was no one left. Harry breathed a sigh of relief, when they took the lady next to him. She
was the ideal citizen and had gone with them willingly. Her mind conditioned since infancy to do

The Leading Fuel Ethanol From The United States
POET LLC is one of the leading fuel ethanol producers in the United States, operating twenty seven
corn to ethanol plants and one of only three corn stover to ethanol plants in the United States. The
success of the company has come from capitalizing on government policy. This policy under the EPA
s renewable fuel standard provides incentives in the market place. Due to this incentive along with
process innovation POET has grown into an industry leader. The company has a wide range of
intellectual property and is constantly pushing its employees to come up with new ideas and
processes. As an Associate Research Scientist, I am able to collaborate on new ideas first hand. I see
many new ideas come through the pipeline every day. Once an idea is developed it is subjected to
scrutiny, it must survive benchtop experiments, economic modeling, and ultimately a run through at a
research plant. Ultimately then trials are done at one of the twenty six plants that POET manages. This
whole process can be stopped at any time if an experiment fails, the economics do not make sense, or
if managers decide other ideas get priority of resources. I see firsthand that employees of POET are
expected to maintain confidentiality when it comes to intellectual property. All full and part time
employees are expected to sign non disclosure, confidentiality and non compete agreements upon
hiring. POET requires employees to have a training session about their intellectual property within the

Genomic Structural Variants
Genomic structural variants (SVs), including deletions, duplications, inversions, and translocations of
genetic sequences, account for at least five times more variable base pairs than single nucleotide
variants among human genomes. However, traditional genome wide scans for adaptive evolution and
disease association tend to ignore thousands of complex structural variants because these scans rely
heavily on intact linkage disequilibrium blocks. This is because a majority of deletion polymorphisms
in the human genome is not in linkage with single nucleotide variants around it due to frequent gene
conversion events in this locus. Recent locus specific studies have investigated a handful of such
complex structural variants and have made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aim 1. Resolving the haplotype architecture of GHRd3 to determine its functional and evolutionary
impact: In our preliminary studies, we have now resolved the haplotype architecture using focused
analysis of thousands of genomes. This will allow us to thoroughly interrogate associations of
different GHR haplotypes with metabolic and developmental diseases, expression and methylation
and levels of neighboring genes in different tissues. In addition, using population genetics and model
based analysis of the newly resolved haplotypes will enable us to trace back the adaptive pressures
acting on the locus, shedding light on the evolutionary forces maintaining this deletion in the
population.
Aim 2. Determining the mechanisms through which GHRd3 affect cell function: Based on previous
studies, we hypothesize that GHRd3 leads to multiple downstream consequences in the growth
hormone pathway, including sensitization to growth hormone stimuli. We have now established
CRISPR Cas9 induced isogenic human cell lines with all three possible GHRd3 genotypes. Using this
experimental model, we will comparatively measure the impact of growth hormone treatment to rate
of cell division and to growth

to be address but neither person is trying to bring it up. As the couples continue to staying in silent it
becomes The Dangling Conversation that rips them apart. The main theme of this song is failed
communication between two lovers. It explains how the couples values knowledge over passion. The

The Problem Of Homeless Homelessness
Do you know that homelessness is an occurring matter in Australia, a country that is considered a
developed country? In fact, there are more than 100,000 people that are having the problem of no roof
to give themselves shelter. Homelessness is such an important issue to be worried about, because as a
society, we should look after for our surrounding people. Everyone needs a shelter for safety purposes,
this is one of the essentials of human needs. This essay will talk about how system thinking could help
to smooth out the wicked problem.
In order to talk about system thinking, first, we need to understand what systems are in the context of
sustainability. Every problem or situation is made from several elements and parts, they are
interconnected and affect each other. Any changes towards the parts will change how the whole
system works. System thinking is an alternative way to look at a problem, it focuses on the big picture
instead of the individual parts to solve complicated problems. It focuses on how a small change
towards a single part interacts with another part towards affecting the picture (Aronson, n.d.).
Homelessness is a global problem where there is not an ultimate solution to solve this problem. The
most obvious way to define homelessness is the absence of shelter, secondly is define as people that
have no control or access to a social relation. There are about 100 million people that are homeless
worldwide. According to The World Bank and The Human development

Water Scarcity A Growing Threat Of Humanity
Water Scarcity a Growing Threat to Humanity The world s population is growing. The need for water
is rising with the birth of every child. Sooner than most people would want to admit, the water
resources available in the world would be inadequate to cater for the needs of humanity. As
developing countries seek to become industrialized, more water will be needed for their industries.
The developed world is also not slowing down its water usage in its industries. Given the important
part it plays in growth, the world is well in its path to facing its worse season yet: living without water.
When one goes to a country where water problems are real, they find businesses have made water a
prominent factor in determining whether or not to set up and run their businesses there. No one can
afford to bury their head in the sand anymore. The water problem that is not far away in the future
must be addressed now. Water resources by 2050 The society cannot afford to ignore the fact that
water resources are limited. According to IFPRI (International Food Policy Research Institute), by
2050, there will be 4.8 billion people who will be struggling with limited water resources. This is over
half of the world s population. As the world s population grows, there will be a greater need for
economic development and more food. Factories producing grain use water more than any other input.
In fact, water accounts for almost half of all inputs in the manufacturing industry across the globe. By

Examples Of Naturalism In The Call Of The Wild
Naturalism, expressed through the submission of living beings to nature in the novella, shows the
dominant power of heredity and the social environment against a creature s will, a major concept in
the 19th century realism movement. Buck, the protagonist that metamorphosed from a companion to a
pack dog serves as a metaphor for the impermanence of previous discipline. Also, the violent mood
provoked by Buck s brutal instinctive behavior towards Spitz and other characters in the novel
represents the power of the social and physical environment even against centuries of evolution and
domestication. In the novel, Buck is a domestic dog who is stolen and shipped north during the
Klondike Gold Rush to drag sleds for the prospectors heading to and from Dawson. He stands for one
of the many dogs that were turned into machines for the benefit of humans. He was taught to obey the
club and man and was severely punished by the man for failing to do so Buck s introduction to

Why Interest Rates On Fast Loans
Consumers who encounter a financial emergency often need to borrow money, but they typically need
lenders to process their applications quickly. Cash strapped borrowers may not have the ability to wait
a week or more to receive the funds needed to repair the family car, pay for a spouse to visit a doctor
or patch a roof that is leaking. Therefore, they often turn to fast loans online or through a storefront.
Despite their immediate need, many borrowers wonder why the interest rates on fast loans are so high.
Why Interest Rates on Fast Loans Are High
To understand why fast loans carry such high interest rates, it might be helpful to review how a typical
bank determines the interest rates it will charge. The first thing to remember is that ... Show more

Without considering risk, the lender could offer a loan with an interest rate of 8 percent and still earn a
profit. Once risks are evaluated, however, the interest rate will rise.
How Greater Risks Affect Interest Rates on Fast Loans
Borrowers are individuals with different circumstances, which has always made the risk premium a
challenging factor for lenders to assess. To minimize their risks, lenders put mortgage applications
through a process known as underwriting. During the underwriting process, the lender verifies the
applicant s employment history, income and down payment. The borrower s debts will be evaluated to
ensure that all payments, including the mortgage payment, can be met. The underwriting process also
includes a careful evaluation of the borrower s credit history.
The underwriting process can take days or even weeks, according to FinWeb.com. Although most
people think that lenders only send mortgage applications through underwriting, many banks also
underwrite personal loans, business loans and home equity loans. Underwriting can help lenders
determine the level of risk associated with each loan, but these certainly cannot be considered to be
fast loans.
After evaluating the chances that the borrower will not make timely payments or may default on the
loan, the lender can then assign a risk premium. In the example given in the previous section, the
lender would be able to offer an interest rate of 8 percent plus the risk premium. If the

Forsaken Promises
What does the future hold? What will happen at the end of the age? Will the church be raptured up
into Heaven or will the church remain on Earth? Are the Jews still God s chosen people? Has the
church replaced Israel? These and other questions have been asked since Jesus left Earth and ascended
into Heaven. Since that day Christians have been looking and longing with eager anticipation for the
return of Christ. The study of the return of Christ, or last things, is known as Eschatology, and within
Eschatology there are several schools of thought concerning the Church and Israel. These schools of
thought are known as Covenant and Dispensational Theology. Two similar schools of thought within
Dispensational theology are known as Classical and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Boice writes, In the OT there is the creation of an ekklesia, an assembly of those who are called out of
a normal relationship to the world in order to be a special people of God. The church is not Plan B in
God s plan of salvation but rather was hinted at in the OT through the calling out of Abraham and
Israel but was not fully realized until the NT. Blaising argues this point when he writes, The church is
seen less and less as a parenthesis in the divine program. Instead it is seen as vitally linked to and
comprehended in the plan of God revealed in the Old Testament. The sharp line which is drawn
between the Church and Israel is dulled within PD as this view attempts to harmonize the two
Testaments into one unifying work of God throughout all of history.
TD views the church as in a parenthetical relationship with God and His plan for Israel. TD taught that
the offer to the kingdom of Israel was genuine, but it was also conditional and contingent on the
nations response, when Israel choose to reject the Messiah, the offer of Jesus Christ was offered to the
Gentiles and the kingdom did not immediately appear but was postponed. TD argue that had the
Israelites accepted the Messiah the Kingdom would have begun immediately, however, since Israel
rejected Jesus the offer went to the Gentiles. Therefore, since

The Romantic Imagination in Action
The human imagination has been a concept or characteristic which has invoked various speculations,
theories, ideologies and philosophies throughout history. It would seem to be the one main
characteristic which separates humans –homo sapiens, from all other species in the world.
‘Imagination , seems to be the source and foundation of human evolution, and the founder of humans
as the master species.
Technically speaking ‘imagination is in general, the power or process of producing mental images
and ideas. The term is technically used in psychology for the process of reviving mind percepts of
objects formerly given in sense perception.

For Schelling nature is a necessary step toward ‘self . The understanding of the object world, begins
with sensation and moves through to understanding. Hence the awareness of the world, can only be
possible as a result of our consciousness, the ‘absolute consciousness .
In Schelling s philosophy, he elevates art into a central position of his system and the ‘self plays a
key role in the production of art. Although it seems that Schelling moves away from the centrality of
art that he has ascribed in the System of Transcendental Idealism, the aesthetic remains as the central
point of his thought.
For Schelling activities of conscious and unconscious are free acts which form an organic unity, one
which Schelling establishes as an organic product. These two activities are supposed to always never
be separated, because the opposite forces of these two activities form a contradiction
Schelling, dismantles the opposition between nature and art. For him imagination creates nature and
art. The ‘artistic genius as he so names, is only different from normal man to the extent that he has
become aware of the unity of his conscious and unconscious imagination.
With Schelling the creative imagination of the artist takes on a metaphysical significance as it
becomes the free activity in which the real is fused with the ideal.
Art achieves the impossible, ‘to resolve on infinite opposition infinite product.

It is the obligation of the parents to take care and nurture their newborn. Parents are to deliver for their
children both through emotional needs as well as survival needs.
One thing about caring for a newborn is needing to be fed through the means of milk. Formula bottle
feeding or milk from the breast is a decision made by the mother and father over doing their research
of the health of their child. As stated in Nancy E. Wright s article on the progression of breastfeeding,
Aristotle said, There is a reason behind everything in nature. Certain incidences take place in nature
that has effects or consequences to them. Choosing to breastfeed is a decision that new mothers make
that requires sacrifice and hard work, yet has the prospective to be a very healthy food nutrient for
infants.

Evil And The Existence Of Evil Essay
Evil and miracles, can they both exist in our modern everyday life? Evil s existence has no doubt to be
present due to all the horrors we have heard about or witnessed. While as for miracles, the existence is
constantly questioned if they exist and what classifies as a true miracle. These concepts battle with
theism and cause a great uproar to the existence of a powerful, omnipotent, and omniscient being. The
definition of evil is the absence of good while the definition of a miracle is an unexpected, beneficial
event. These definitions have counter arguments which include the questioning off both the existence
of evil, the existence of a powerful being, and miracles. Evil no doubt has a strong presence and many
theologians try to comprehend and offer a solution to the existence of evil. Evil has two forms which
are known as the logical form of evil and the evidential form. These two forms of the problem of evil
have been distinguished in order to understand the issue of evil. The main argument to the existence of
an all good and powerful being is the existence of evil. If an omnipotent being exist evil would be
presumed to be absent in our world, however evil remains present. Evil s existence gives ground for
atheism and the belief that an all powerful being does not exist. The logical form of evil implies an
inconsistency in theism conspiring the belief of both the existence of God and evil. Statements in
which theologians believe in are: (1) God exists and is

The, Siddhartha, By Herman Hesse
Set in ancient India, Siddhartha, written by Herman Hesse, narrates a soul s quest in pursuit of the
answers to humanity s role in this realm. Centered around a Brahmin s son, Siddhartha, Hesse
illustrates how powerful society is to both promote and hinder Siddhartha s pilgrimage towards
spiritual enlightenment. It is through sin, lust, and profound despair that Siddhartha learned to not
resist but to love all as is. Through this mindset of accepting everything, Siddhartha attains Nirvana.
Siddhartha had one single goal to become empty, to become empty of thirst, desire, dreams, and
sorrow to let the self die (11). As a young Indian, Siddhartha suffered thirst, he thirsted for knowledge.

Before, he saw the world as an illusive veil , which he disregarded and ostracized from his thoughts;
he saw his Self as Atman, the eternal nature of everything. Now awakened, Siddhartha listened only to
the voice within his Self, He would only strive after whatever the inward voice commanded him, not
tarry anywhere but where the voice advised him (39), and this voice led him to the town of Kamala
and Kamaswami. This town, or society, was very monumental to the development of Siddhartha. It
was necessary to isolate himself in this society. Though he was isolated, he felt separated and superior
to the people, He saw people living in such childish or animal like way (57), which he laughed at; this
was because he had been a Samana, where he had despised money, small pleasures, and trivial honors.
Siddhartha viewed the people s lives as a game, which he derived amusement from. While his
physical body resided in the town, his real self wandered elsewhere, invisibly; he had remained a
Samana at heart. But, over the years he became enveloped in comfortable living. He hardly noticed the
years passing as he had become rich, possessed both a house and servants. His glorious awakening
and the prominent voice within him slowly became a memory, had passed. His ascetic philosophy
slowly died as well. Siddhartha became accustomed to fine living; He had learned to wear fine

Descriptive Essay On Nantucketu
I am fortunate enough to live on the beautiful island of Nantucket. Growing up here in such a close
knit community, has put me aside from your average high schooler in the best way possible.
Nantucket is full of incredible wildlife and conservation land that is so unique it looks untouched.
Wintertime, when all the summer people leave, you know everybody on the island. It s literally
impossible to drive through town without seeing a familiar face. But by the time summer comes the
island explodes with electricity that s unlike anywhere else. Massive yachts pack our tiny harbor and
enormous private jets fill the airport on the weekends. Having such a drastic change is something that
makes Nantucket so unique. Personally, I don t have a favorite season, Nantucket is perfect year round
and that s why I feel so blessed to call it home. When the days are shorter and the water is colder the
tourists are driven away, leaving a small community, one of the greatest communities on the planet. So
close that when someone dies it can affect the whole island. The best feature Nantucket has to offer is
how the locals come together and help others in need. When something happens, news travels fast and
everyone knows. Having a small community also makes our sports teams closer, we have no choice
but to play together. We spend a lot more time together than other teams, every away game we have to
take a boat then a school bus to the game. Doing that gets us more comfortable with each other

Human Body Art
The human body is a significant object in the art of all the periods of human life. Since the time when
people started to use tools and made first steps in the art they always tried to depict human body. The
human figure has been represented in various forms such as sculptures and paintings (Morphy, 2014).
Various civilizations, however, are different in their representation of human figures and the reasons of
the art representation are also different. To understand these motives only visual analysis is not enough
but learning the cultural and historical shreds of evidence behind these artworks is necessary. I chose
two artworks to analyze, Marble Statue of a Wounded Amazon and Hatshepsut Seated.

Hatshepsut Seated is an Egyptian sculpture, which was used to represent the image of kingship and

The current economic situation is terrible. In 2011, blacks made 66 cents for every dollar earned by
whites, compared to 55 cents for every dollar earned by whites in 1963. How do Black Americans
break the poverty cycle? What caused this? One suggestion says that under resourced schools and
mass incarceration drives this cycle. Both must be eradicated, neither is adequate in itself. Schools in
poor neighborhoods most of the time are inadequate to handle the mission of educating the youth. On
the other hand, a black student in a suburban school is six times more likely to graduate on time and
be college ready than a black student in a segregated urban school. Five times as many Whites are
using drugs as African Americans, yet African Americans are sent to prison for drug offenses at 10
times the rate of Whites. This is due to unfair drug laws, over policing and prosecutions in black
neighborhoods and overenthusiastic district attorneys. If America can find a way to improve

would begin to break the poverty cycle. The main characteristic of Latinos is, get in where you fit in ,

Every growing practice needs a steady stream of leads and new patients that not only generate
revenue, but help advance your practice through word of mouth. It is essential to clearly define your
practice on all advertising materials and during consultations to help build your brand and lend
credibility to your practice.
Many chiropractors make the mistake of trying to be everything to everyone. Doing so can lead to
confusion between you and your clients and less effective treatment programs. You will find that
focusing your practice on a few specific treatments will lead to higher response rates in advertising,

By trying to appeal to everyone all at once, you lose the ability to grab someone s attention and
conquer their anxiety and concerns about chiropractic. Maximize the potential of each advertisement
by eliminating the unnecessary information and appealing as strongly as possible to your target
audience.
Over time, you can create a newspaper insert campaign for each type of symptom and slowly build
your client list the right way. In doing so your response rates will increase and you will soon know
exactly which treatments are the most lucrative in your area. This is key for future success and can
quickly put you in at an advantage over your competitors.
Do some research on chiropractic advertising to gather ideas and topics for your own marketing
materials. You can even use a competitor s flyers or promotions to help you learn about your area.
What are they marketing? What is their target audience?
A great way to start your chiropractic advertising is to design, print, and deliver full color flyers

Atonement Research Paper
Worship and sin cannot coexist. For example, before the fall, Adam and Eve did not need to acquire
atonement to worship God, but instead lived in the Garden of Eden with Him. The Temple and
Tabernacle were the places where man encountered God, so they served as vital religious components
of Judaism. In addition to atonement, tabernacle and temple, further elements of Old Testament
worship include scripture, singing, and covenant renewal/remembrance. This essay will go over Old
Testament worship practices and the significance of these practices. Atonement is the physical ritual
conveying a sentiment of repentance. In the Old Testament, atonement was the method used in order
to attain purity and restore relationship with God and the community of believers through a sacrificial
statement. We see this demonstrated in time of the creation and fall, the patriarchs, the
exodus/law/conquest, the kings, and the post exile (Lecture 1, 2016). There are numerous types of
sacrifices that can be found in Leviticus: burnt offering (1:3 17), associated cereal offerings (2:1 16),
peace offerings (3:1 17), sin offering (4:1 5:13) and guilt offering (5:14 6:7) (Peterson, 1993, p.38).
The sacrificial system in the Old Testament to atone for unintentionally and intentionally committed
sins and social failures that caused Israelites to become unclean so that they can once again join the
worshipping community of God (Leviticus 4:20; 5:16 18). These sacrifices acted in some cases as

Irony In Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey
Towards the beginning of Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey she starts to rant on the fact that all

custom, so common with novel writers, of degrading by their contemptuous censure the very
performances, to the number of which they are themselves adding joining with their greatest enemies
in bestowing the harshest epithets on such works, and scarcely ever permitting them to be read by
their own heroine. (Austen 36). Although, during her entire novel she tends to make fun of Gothic

starting the burlesque books, she now unconsciously makes life decisions based on the actions of
characters from the stories she is reading. If a rainy morning deprived them of other enjoyments, they
were still resolute in meeting in defiance of wet and dirt, and shut themselves up, to read novels

reading has developed something that she wants the people closest to her to branch out on as well.
And what are you reading, Miss ? Oh! it is only a novel! replies the young lady...in short, only some
work in which the greatest powers of the mind are displayed, in which the most thorough knowledge
of human nature, the happiest delineation of its varieties, the liveliest effusions of wit and humor are

Accredited programme requirements were created from the Criminal Justice Act 2003 but in order to

The Probation of Offenders Act was established in 1907 and under this act the release if offenders into

probation was made clear under this act which was to advise, assist and befriend and it continued that

However, research carried out in the 1990 s as part of what works movement identified that the most
successful sentences were those that attempted to change, not only the offender s behaviour but also
their attitude towards their offending (Hollin, 2007). This catalysed the push towards cognitive
behavioural approaches and by 1999 one especially important development was the establishment of
the Correctional Services Accreditation Panel, which quality assured probation and prison
programmes for rehabilitating offending. This technique brought an emphasis of individual
responsibility of an offender (Mair,2004). A criticism of this was the lack of attention of sociological
factors that can influence criminal behaviour.
Responsibility of offenders can be considered to have arose as part of the Just Deserts in which is
fundamental to it rational in two ways. First, the need to sentence individuals for the crime committed
rather than sociological or behavioural issue that may have been a factor in the offender committing
the crime. Secondly, under the concept of proportionality in which the sentence is proportionate to the
crime. At this point a very subtle difference in sentencing had an impact on the way probation was
viewed because non custodial sentences became recognised as an alternative to prison rather than an
alternative to punishment (Worrall, 2006). Thus, probation was regarded as a punishment in its own
right which is

Questions On The Origins Of Philosophy
Eren Halliburton 12/1/2016 Problems of Philosophy Research Paper Dr. Hutcherson
The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual
reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come
with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in
the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three
philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all
came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first
school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any
pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is
fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek
mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to
find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales,
water is the one and only Arche.
Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off
of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being
broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements,

Many home buyers in this home owning crisis are hoping that the house prices increase just like the
trend line suggests. Another common alternative instead of buying is renting which proposes a not as

With housing affordability presenting more of a problem for first home buyers, some are searching for
property alternatives, such as renting. The average weekly income for north ward population is $1276
which can make buying a home very difficult whereas renting can present itself as much more
desirable. Renting is becoming much more familiar this is due to renting being much more static and
the trend is extremely predictable, with a rather straight trend line of the past 10 years. Another key
factor which persuades buyers to rent is the safety of renting. Renting a house doesn t leave you with
mortgage payments and long term commitments. With the declining sales market in Townsville,
selling a house could prove quite difficult and a loss in money could occur with sudden decrease in
price over the past year. With a decrease in house prices comes a drop in rental price which is
immensely positive as there is no waiting period and need to sell any property. Not only does renting
have many potential short term gains, renting is also much cheaper at $350 p/w/. This price is also

Letter To Danbury Baptist Rhetorical Analysis
The Separation of Church and State
The central idea is that church and state should not be considered mutual. In the article, Letter to
Danbury Baptist, Thomas Jefferson respectfully rejects the Danbury Baptist pursue to making their
religion the only religion known to state. He also explains that the separation of church and state is a
part of the first amendment and it is one that we are going to keep and adhere to. Another article, First
Amendment to the US Constitution it states the first amendment and all the freedom we have as
Americans. An image, No Union Upon Any Terms shows how religion is not part of state. Therefore,
church and state should be separate.
In the Letter to Danbury Baptist, the author Thomas Jefferson develops and refines the central idea of
separation between church and state by explaining the importance of keeping a good relationship
between himself and the Baptist people but also standing firm on the importance of the first
amendment. The danbury Baptist people wanted to change the division of church and state but
Jefferson used his rhetoric to help explain to the people that the separation of church and state is good

  • 2. Object Storage Systems Are Complex Systems Data Indexing Object storage systems are complex systems that require high speed data management system to handle the vast amount of object attributes. In CADOS, we take advantage of PostgreSQL (Stonebraker and Rowe, 1986) database to store the object and stripe information. Namespace technique is widely used to prevent the name conflict of objects with the same name. Each object in CADOS is accessed via well defined namespace paths. The object path column is represented via ltree structure (ltree, 2015) in order to support hierarchical tree like structure in an efficient way. This structure allows us to use regular expression like patterns in accessing the object attributes. Security One of the distinctive property of the object ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All the communication between the master web worker and slave web workers are made in a message passing fashion. At (2), master web worker distributes the URL list of the data segments across the slave web workers which are created in the loading event of the web page. onmessage is an event handler that is called when the message is posted to the corresponding web worker. In onmessage handler of the slave web workers, unique IDs with URLs are posted to the slave web worker, then each slave web worker starts retrieving data segments from the cloud object storage, again, by means of AJAX communication technique (3). As the slave web worker finishes the retrieval of the data segment, it posts the data pointer and corresponding index to the master web worker (4). Index of the data segment is used to locate the data segment on the main cache created by the master web worker. Because the data is passed to the master web worker using pointers, there is no data copy overhead. Once all the slave workers finish data retrieval operations, the master web worker writes out the cache to the hard disk (5). The downside of this technique the total amount of retrieved data is limited by the RAM capacity of the user, although we anticipate this feature to be introduced in the future as a part of HTML standard with the introduction of the File API: ... • 3. Overtones In To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee is a fan of using subtle undertones and overtones everywhere in her book To Kill a Mockingbird. A good example of this is with the quote Sometimes the Bible in the hand of one man is worse than a whiskey bottle in the hand of [another]...There are just some kind of men...who re so busy worrying about the next world they ve never learned to live in this one, and you can look down the street and see the results. (pg. 60). This quote, as a stand alone, gets gears turning, but once it s paired with the rest of the book, it gives an entirely new perspective on a problem that so many people ignore or don t notice. Her book is completely littered with examples that back up this quote and it s intended meaning. A few examples of this is when the foot washers call Miss Maudie and her flowers a sin, when the foot washers quote scripture to Miss Maudie and she quotes some right back, when Mrs. Farrow talks about the blacks as if they are wild animals, when Mrs. Merriweather talks about the cooks and field hands grumbling after Tom s Trials and when Jem is explaining to Dill why Dolphus Raymond is somewhat of a town outcast. Some of the extremely devout people (the foot washers for example), tend to be more worried about the next life instead of enjoying the one they currently have. By preferring to be inside reading the Bible instead of outdoors enjoying life and wanting others to do the same, they show how the Bible gives the ability to be scrutinized less by peers. But ... • 4. Concussion Frameworks For Concussions There are enough concussion protocols to determine a concussion, but there are not enough protocols for preventing concussions for Football Athletes. The SCAT5 Assessment Tool does provide beneficial and accurate tests to determine concussions. The protocols for recovery and return to play are very detailed and straightforward so there is no further damage or impairments to the brain. Although, concussions are still happening at high rates, especially in football because they are not being fully prevented, they are only being treated after they happen. The SCAT5 Assessment Tool, also known as Sport Concussion Assessment Tool, is a variety of tests for athletes, given by an AT or physician, to determine whether an athlete has a concussion. The SCAT5 Tool is made up of the On Field Assessment and the Off Field Assessment . Some tests that make up the On Field Assessment are determining any Red Flags or obvious signs of a concussion such as double vision, nausea, headache, fogginess , and memory loss. This section is also made up of testing the athlete s memory, using the Glasgow Coma Scale , and a Cervical Spine Assessment. The tests and sections that make up the Off Field Assessment are the athletes general information and background information, evaluating the athlete s symptoms and the severity of the symptoms, Cognitive Screenings, and Neurological Screenings. His writing presents profound truths on how individuals should view life and other objects in their environment. This game should be handled with extreme caution and adult supervision. To start off this game, the player would need to fill a waterproof bowl with Brandy, or other flammable liquid, and place various household ingredients, including various fruits, almonds, and a handful of raisins. With players scattered around the bowl, each one of them will take turns sticking their hands inside. They all try to pull out as much as they can within the small timeframe of them getting burnt. When each player has taken their turn to pull objects out of the flaming bowl, they will then proceed to count how many of the miscellaneous pieces of food are in their hand. When done counting, each player will go around stating how many of the various pieces of food are in their hand, tracking of scores if required. When each player is done counting, and the winner is determined, then it s said to be that whoever the winner is, will be the first to have a partner in marriage. This is a dangerous and unsafe game, but nonetheless, a somewhat fun and enjoyable game, as long as none is hurt or burned during the competition. Genomic Structural Variants Genomic structural variants (SVs), including deletions, duplications, inversions, and translocations of genetic sequences, account for at least five times more variable base pairs than single nucleotide variants among human genomes. However, traditional genome wide scans for adaptive evolution and disease association tend to ignore thousands of complex structural variants because these scans rely heavily on intact linkage disequilibrium blocks. In addition, using population genetics and model based analysis of the newly resolved haplotypes will enable us to trace back the adaptive pressures acting on the locus, shedding light on the evolutionary forces maintaining this deletion in the population. Aim 2. Determining the mechanisms through which GHRd3 affect cell function: Based on previous studies, we hypothesize that GHRd3 leads to multiple downstream consequences in the growth hormone pathway, including sensitization to growth hormone stimuli. Homelessness is such an important issue to be worried about, because as a society, we should look after for our surrounding people. Everyone needs a shelter for safety purposes, this is one of the essentials of human needs. This essay will talk about how system thinking could help to smooth out the wicked problem. In order to talk about system thinking, first, we need to understand what systems are in the context of sustainability. Every problem or situation is made from several elements and parts, they are interconnected and affect each other. Any changes towards the parts will change how the whole system works. System thinking is an alternative way to look at a problem, it focuses on the big picture instead of the individual parts to solve complicated problems. It focuses on how a small change towards a single part interacts with another part towards affecting the picture (Aronson, n.d.). Homelessness is a global problem where there is not an ultimate solution to solve this problem. How Greater Risks Affect Interest Rates on Fast Loans Borrowers are individuals with different circumstances, which has always made the risk premium a challenging factor for lenders to assess. To minimize their risks, lenders put mortgage applications through a process known as underwriting. During the underwriting process, the lender verifies the applicant s employment history, income and down payment. The borrower s debts will be evaluated to ensure that all payments, including the mortgage payment, can be met. The underwriting process also includes a careful evaluation of the borrower s credit history. The underwriting process can take days or even weeks, according to FinWeb.com. Although most people think that lenders only send mortgage applications through underwriting, many banks also underwrite personal loans, business loans and home equity loans. Underwriting can help lenders determine the level of risk associated with each loan, but these certainly cannot be considered to be fast loans. After evaluating the chances that the borrower will not make timely payments or may default on the loan, the lender can then assign a risk premium. In the example given in the previous section, the lender would be able to offer an interest rate of 8 percent plus the risk premium. If the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evil s existence has no doubt to be present due to all the horrors we have heard about or witnessed. While as for miracles, the existence is constantly questioned if they exist and what classifies as a true miracle. These concepts battle with theism and cause a great uproar to the existence of a powerful, omnipotent, and omniscient being. The definition of evil is the absence of good while the definition of a miracle is an unexpected, beneficial event. These definitions have counter arguments which include the questioning off both the existence of evil, the existence of a powerful being, and miracles. Evil no doubt has a strong presence and many theologians try to comprehend and offer a solution to the existence of evil. Evil has two forms which are known as the logical form of evil and the evidential form. These two forms of the problem of evil have been distinguished in order to understand the issue of evil. The main argument to the existence of an all good and powerful being is the existence of evil. If an omnipotent being exist evil would be presumed to be absent in our world, however evil remains present. In the Old Testament, atonement was the method used in order to attain purity and restore relationship with God and the community of believers through a sacrificial statement. We see this demonstrated in time of the creation and fall, the patriarchs, the exodus/law/conquest, the kings, and the post exile (Lecture 1, 2016). There are numerous types of sacrifices that can be found in Leviticus: burnt offering (1:3 17), associated cereal offerings (2:1 16), peace offerings (3:1 17), sin offering (4:1 5:13) and guilt offering (5:14 6:7) (Peterson, 1993, p.38). The sacrificial system in the Old Testament to atone for unintentionally and intentionally committed sins and social failures that caused Israelites to become unclean so that they can once again join the worshipping community of God (Leviticus 4:20; 5:16 18). These sacrifices acted in some cases as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Irony In Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey Towards the beginning of Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey she starts to rant on the fact that all published authors should stick together on not criticizing or making joke of characters who read books or literary works in general. Jane states: Yes, novels; for I will not adopt that ungenerous and impolitic custom, so common with novel writers, of degrading by their contemptuous censure the very performances, to the number of which they are themselves adding joining with their greatest enemies in bestowing the harshest epithets on such works, and scarcely ever permitting them to be read by their own heroine. On countless occasions during Northanger Abbey Jane Austen makes Catherine look as if she is a complete fool for finding an enthusiasm for reading. She makes joke of how tremendously fast Catherine is involved in the books, how it starts to effect Catherine s social life, and the way, since starting the burlesque books, she now unconsciously makes life decisions based on the actions of characters from the stories she is reading. If a rainy morning deprived them of other enjoyments, they were still resolute in meeting in defiance of wet and dirt, and shut themselves up, to read novels together. (Austen 56) This quote is her demonstrating Catherine s overall thought process on how reading has developed something that she wants the people closest to her to branch out on as well. And what are you reading, Miss ? Oh! it is only a novel! replies the young lady...in short, only some work in which the greatest powers of the mind are displayed, in which the most thorough knowledge of human nature, the happiest delineation of its varieties, the liveliest effusions of wit and humor are conveyed to the world in the best chosen language. Accredited programme requirements were created from the Criminal Justice Act 2003 but in order to understand how this came to be it is significant that the history and political context of the probation service is understood. The Probation of Offenders Act was established in 1907 and under this act the release if offenders into the community under the control of probation officers were made official. The primary aim of the probation was made clear under this act which was to advise, assist and befriend and it continued that way until 1970 s. However, research carried out in the 1990 s as part of what works movement identified that the most successful sentences were those that attempted to change, not only the offender s behaviour but also their attitude towards their offending (Hollin, 2007). This catalysed the push towards cognitive behavioural approaches and by 1999 one especially important development was the establishment of the Correctional Services Accreditation Panel, which quality assured probation and prison programmes for rehabilitating offending. This technique brought an emphasis of individual responsibility of an offender (Mair,2004). A criticism of this was the lack of attention of sociological factors that can influence criminal behaviour. Responsibility of offenders can be considered to have arose as part of the Just Deserts in which is fundamental to it rational in two ways. First, the need to sentence individuals for the crime committed rather than sociological or behavioural issue that may have been a factor in the offender committing the crime. Secondly, under the concept of proportionality in which the sentence is proportionate to the crime. At this point a very subtle difference in sentencing had an impact on the way probation was viewed because non custodial sentences became recognised as an alternative to prison rather than an alternative to punishment (Worrall, 2006). Thus, probation was regarded as a punishment in its own right which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Questions On The Origins Of Philosophy Eren Halliburton 12/1/2016 Problems of Philosophy Research Paper Dr. Hutcherson The origins of philosophy began with the dynamic question of What if? followed by intellectual reasoning for the ways of the world. To look past the general purpose of life and the things that come with it; is when a new philosophy is discovered. The first recorded philosopher came about early on in the sixth century B.C.E. His name was Thales of Miletus or what is now Turkey. The first three philosophers, Thales, Anaximander, and Anaximenes, are known as the Milesians because they all came from the Greek colony of Miletus on the Persian coast and because they constitute the first school of philosophy. (Pg. 24) However, little is known about Thales due to the fact, there weren t any pieces of literature connecting to him. However, he did make it known that everything is fundamentally made up of water. This belief went against the theological perspectives of Greek mythology, introducing a more scientific view of the cosmos. Thales made it known that he wanted to find the Arche or unifying principle that linked every aspect of life together. According to Thales, water is the one and only Arche. Two of Thales successors and fellow Milesians, Anaximander and Anaximenes based their beliefs off of Thales philosophy. However, they didn t seem to agree with Thales ideology of everything being broken down to water. Anaximander completely dismissed the idea of the four primary elements, ... Another common alternative instead of buying is renting which proposes a not as challenging alternate. With housing affordability presenting more of a problem for first home buyers, some are searching for property alternatives, such as renting. The average weekly income for north ward population is $1276 which can make buying a home very difficult whereas renting can present itself as much more desirable. Renting is becoming much more familiar this is due to renting being much more static and the trend is extremely predictable, with a rather straight trend line of the past 10 years. Another key factor which persuades buyers to rent is the safety of renting. Renting a house doesn t leave you with mortgage payments and long term commitments. With the declining sales market in Townsville, selling a house could prove quite difficult and a loss in money could occur with sudden decrease in price over the past year. With a decrease in house prices comes a drop in rental price which is immensely positive as there is no waiting period and need to sell any property. Not only does renting have many potential short term gains, renting is also much cheaper at $350 p/w/. This price is also most likely to keep decreasing, a slow decline can be ...
