Personal Protective Equipment At Work Regulations 1992 (PPE)
Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 (PPE)
PPE stand for Personal protective equipment, this would refer to clothing, goggles, the equipment that
they would require within their environment. PPE is equipment law that will protect the workers and
customers against health or safety risks at work. I feel that this regulation is extremely important
because in the period of 1996/97 to 2002/03 1.1 million that involve PPE, this is where an
investigation has found there is a deficiency or there is a comment regarding the PPE in the report.
This regulation would require that the employer needs to provide safe equipment, within welding and
fabrication this would include: Items such as clothing, thick protective clothing because burns

Implications Of Economic Globalization
Economic globalisation is a multi dimensional process based on the continuous integration between
domestic economies along with the increased impacts of international influences on all aspects of
economic activity and general life. The process of globalisation is extensively characterised by:
An acceptance of a set of economic agreements by the entire consolidated world economy, designed to
maximise profits and productivity by universalising markets and production, and to obtain the support
of a nation with a view to its economy becoming more productive and competitive (R. Urzua, 2000).
technological innovation and organisational change centred on flexibilisation and adaptability; the
expansion of a specific form of social organisation based on information as the main source of
productivity and power. (R. Urzua, 2000)
And primarily comprises the globalization of production, finance, markets, technology, organizational
regimes, institutions, corporations, and labour (James et al., vols. 1 4 2007).
While economic globalization has been expanding since the emergence of transnational trade, it has
grown at an increased rate due to an increase in communication and technological advances under the
framework of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and World Trade Organization
(WTO), establishing the gradual decline in trade barriers. (Gao 2000) This recent boom in economic
integration has been largely supported by developed economies integrating with

Reflection Paper On Christmas Angels
Christmas Angels Christmas in the Chapel has been a huge staple in my childhood, and every year, I
ve looked forward to seeing the signing angels from my church Jefferson Street of from Lincoln
Christian Church. In January 2015, I was able to join their group, Praise Handmade, and entered the
Heavenlies , as we call it, that December. Our Head Angel , Angela, and three other girls, Rebecca,
Bethany, and Erin, were in my first group for two years, and they had done it before. I was new to all
of this, and I was the youngest and the smallest (I was 11 my first year); being afraid of heights did not
help at all.
The platform we were on was the highest part on the stage, and there was was nothing to keep us from
falling; the stage is about 15 feet into the air. During my first rehearsal on the stage, my skin turned as
pale as a ghost and my body was as still as a statue; I was completely petrified. When the song was
over, I moved to a lower level of the stage to calm down. One of the angels (I don t remember who)
asked me, Are you okay?
I told them I was fine, though I was still trembling a little bit from fear. How was I supposed to do it in
front of several people if I couldn t even rehearse up there without having a panic attack? Thankfully, I
soon got used to the height, though the first time up there every year still makes my heart pound; I
think it does for everyone. For my third year, I was able to look up for our last sign for the very first
time.

Direct Reimbursement Analysis
Direct reimbursement is a plan that involves direct and unlimited reimbursements as long as they are
allowed and reasonable (Johnston Marshall, 2009, p.379). This plan allows the sales manager a little
control over both the magnitude of sales expenses and the kinds of activities salespeople will be
motivated to do (Johnston Marshall, 2009, p.379). Moreover, direct reimbursement will allow sales
reps to take possible new accounts to lunch to try to get their business (Johnston Marshall, 2009). By
allowing sales reps to get direct reimbursement on expenses it will stimulate the sales reps to use it
(Johnston Marshall, 2009). The sales rep has to turn in receipts and justify the expenses before they
can be reimbursed (Johnston Marshall, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a company using limited reimbursement they set an expense budget at the beginning of the year,
moreover, this allows them to figure out how much each sales rep can spend (Johnston Marshall,
2009). Furthermore, the sales rep may only be able to spend $50 per lunch for possible new accounts
(Johnston Marshall, 2009). Limited reimbursement could hurt a company if they spend all the money
in the budget and still have a few months left in the year. Moreover, the sales rep will either have to
pay for lunch out of their pocket or not take the potential new account to lunch (Johnston Marshall,
2009). In this case for MedTech Pharmaceuticals and the sales force, I would suggest direct
reimbursement would work best. If MedTech used direct reimbursement they would know what the
sales rep used the money for, moreover, MedTech would know it was not used for personal items
(Investopedia, 2016). I would choose the direct reimbursement Moreover, I would not want my sales
reps worrying about the price of lunch; I would want them to concentrate on getting a new

VygotskyÂŽs Zone Proximal Development Essay
Vygotsky has had a profound impact on developmental psychology. One of his main contributions was
the idea of zone proximal development. He places emphasis the shaping of cognitive development. He
is one of the first in children development that emphasized on cultural context. I have chosen his
theory and what it entails for this paper because its very interesting and some certain parts of his
theory like scaffolding and the zone proximal development were relatable to my experience at my
field site. This theorist believed that our minds, cognition, and psychological abilities could be
development with mental tools as much our physical tools expand our physical abilities. This concept
is called the tools of the mind . This is something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They get a chance to interact with other students and children. Children make friends and can start to
develop social relationships. Students can get the attention they need that they don t get at home or
maybe from teachers at afterschool programs. The programs provide a positive surrounding for
students to be. Social environments do have an effect on them. It can be positive or negative, so it s
important that where they decide to be is going to have an optimistic and profound effect on children.
As a service learner, I learned that by just being around and being there with them weekly is giving
them a positive social environment that they might not get at home or the neighborhood they reside.
Also the afterschool program allows them to keep friendships and permit them to flourish. The Zone
of Proximal Development (ZPD) another part of Vygotsky theory is applied a lot in classrooms by
teachers. By definition it is the difference between what a learner can do without help and what he or
she can do with help. Apart of that is a concept called scaffolding, which helps us understand how
aiming coaching within a students/child s ZPD can stimulate and increase knowledge and
development. Although this theory is practiced predominantly in the classroom, us service learners can
attempt to use it as well. For example a student at my field site asked me for help with an assignment
she was given by her teacher. She

Case Study # 1 Sunspot Inc.
1. What are the most likely benefits of forming strategic supply alliances with Sunspot s key
suppliers?
I believe that it is important to realize that a strategic alliance or partnership is solely depended on
trust and faith in the relationship between all involved in simultaneous stages should not change or use
those stages for their own advantage without consideration of the organization involved. Some of the
advantages would be:
Developing competences and learning form the partners
Suitability and protection of resources is maintained
Developing low cost models hence financial benefit
Each partner can concentrate on different stages of the supply

4. Should Glass suggest a materials manager?
Material manager deals with the tangible components of a supply chain covering the acquisition and
replacement of parts, quality control of purchasing and ordering parts, and the standards involved in
ordering, shipping, and warehousing those parts. I think in this case, it would be beneficial for the
company to hire one; it would consolidate all aspects of the supply chain and better the
communication between all the departments involved.
5. Should Glass build up her inventories?
I don t think it s just a matter of building up the inventory. All you are doing there is trading the cost of
higher freight bills for the cost of keeping a larger inventory. It s not just building the inventory, its
accurately building the inventory through better forecasting.
Case Study # 3 Pacific Healthcare
1. What alternatives should Barney Rubble consider when addressing the problem?
It is clear that there are several cheaper options than Kodak. The problem is that Kodak also furnishes
X ray equipment at a lower price, including maintenance and service because of the single supplier
agreement they have with Pacific. So while he may save on film by going with a cheaper option, he
may have to pay more for the equipment service and maintenance. These are all things Mr. Rubble
should consider.

The Yellow Room
The Yellow Room
The yellow room rested peacefully at the end of the hall. Yellow had been my cousin s favorite color.
Nerla s favorite color. The twins, Ellery and Nerla s older brothers, told me she loved the sun so much,
she wanted to live in it. That s where her fascination with wanting to be an astronaut stemmed from, in
hopes that one day, just one day she d be able to live inside the sun. She used to carry it on her back
wherever she went, beam rays of light onto the petals of flowers and onto people s faces, the twins
always used to say. My aunt attested to that as well. My uncle just didn t ever want to talk about it.
We didn t go in her room after her death. It wasn t that it hadn t been allowed, we just knew not to. ...

And that s it. That s all. It just ends.
My heart broke for Ellery then, watching her take it all in. Nerla never finished it and she d never get

to the floor.
...
We didn t speak of sneaking into Nerla s room again, until one day when we were in the backyard.
The backyard was our place. Out on her family s little white gazebo, we d stretch out our designated
blankets, and makeup the past and future lives of our siblings and our parents and our friends or
anyone we could think of. Ellery would visualize her father as the never ending man. To her, for as
long as she could remember, her father exemplified a never ending man, thee never ending man. A tall
girth of massive body ending just before his chin. Her head inclined backward, her line of sight only
ever almost surpassing his thick neck, but never quite. No face lurked beyond.
Ellery and I would then wonder what my mother was like during her youth. I d thought she was a

All Quiet On The Western Front And Night
Long Essay #1 In the two books we read in class, All Quiet on the Western Front and Night we see
that the two world wars of the twentieth century produced unprecedented destruction to human life.
We see this because in Remarque s All Quiet on the Western Front, he says that after witnessing
bodies getting blown up, people getting shot, things burning down and loud noises every day, he was
forced to realize that he no longer belonged to the society that he came from. He realized that he now
belonged to the world of war and that even if he tried to go back to his home, there would be nothing
left for him to go back to. Throughout the books he makes references that his family becomes the
people he was fighting with, even the people he was fighting against because they were the only ones
who understood what he was going through (Remarque, 1929). He and his family no longer kept in
contact and so he was basically in the world alone with no practically no loved one to lean on. The
same goes for the Ellie Wiesel s Night. Ellie gets taken away from his family and forcibly put into a
concentration camp in which he never knew existed. The camp life was harsh and brutal. He saw sons
killing their fathers for food and people dying every day simply for the lack of water. He was forced to
do hard work and take long journey s in which had the intention of killing him and his counter parts
because they were Jewish. He no longer spoke to his mother or sister and his father had just died.

Descriptive Essay On My Home House
Fun, Love, Comfort in the Home with the Green Door
In a small town called Whigham located in the southwest part of Georgia is a home numbered 201 in
the middle of Harrell Avenue Northwest. The home is shaded by a mighty oak tree, its exterior is
white in color with a forest green metal door and window trim painted forest green to match the door.
On the outside this house is full of plant life, two domestic dogs that guard the home from morning to
night, and wild animals living off the provisions of the land. The inside of the house is full of geckos,
family, and love. This is the house I was raised in since my mother and father brought me home from
Grady General Hospital in the month of January in 1991. This home will forever be my safety and my
delight.
This small family home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, one laundry room, a pantry with a dog
kennel built on the side, a kitchen, and a coat closet in the foyer. The entire house was located on one
level except two of the bedrooms which is located down the stairs on the front of the house; the
bedroom to the left down the stairs was my room. My room walls were painted baby blue in color
with a bright orange glass sun located over my headboard that was shaped like skyscrapers in New
York City. The carpet that was in my room was as soft as clouds and was milk chocolate brown in
color. The bonus to my bedroom was the walk in closet that held my black wood bookshelf, twelve

Pentecostal Movement Its Impact Among the Dalits and...
I. Introduction
The prime focus of this paper is to explore the modern Pentecostal or charismatic movement and its
impacts among the Dalits and the tribal in India. In this paper the presenter will also try to bring out a
brief origins and historical development of Pentecostalism, in order to understand the movement and
its impact on the Dalits and the tribal in India.
1. Etymology of the term Pentecostal
The term Pentecostal is derived from the Greek word pentekosté which literally means fifty . It is the
Greek name for the Jewish festival known as the Feast of Weeks in the Old Testament, which
celebrates the fiftieth day after Passover observances. The New Testament used the term to refer to the
established Jewish feast. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the Azusa Street revival on April 1906, Azusa Street soon became the Mecca for thousands of
visitors around the world. The people who visited this place went back to their homelands spread this
new experience and spread the Pentecostalism to other parts of the world and formed Pentecostal
churches. From the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles, Pentecostalism spread rapidly around the
world and began its advance toward becoming a major force in Christendom.
5. Pentecostalism Movement in India
We have observed the modern Pentecostal movement in the 20th century that sparked out of the
revivals that took place at Azusa Street, Los Angeles, which spread rapidly to the ends of the earth.
Most of the scholars traced back the origin of Pentecostalism to the Azusa Street revival in 1906.
However, it is not yet firmly established as to when the Pentecostalism started in India because prior
to the coming of Pentecostal missionaries in the 20th century there were Pentecostal like events in the
history of Christianity in India.
According to Gary McGee, the eminent historian of Assemblies of God, Pentecostalism had already
established itself in India long before word of Azusa reached the subcontinent. He validated by
showing the documentary evidence that Pentecost, with all the associated phenomena, came

A Distinct Concepts Of Liberty
Berlin argued that there were two very distinct concepts of liberty competing in the history of political
philosophy. Negative liberty describes the freedom not to be interfered with. It is the common and
common sense understanding of freedom. Liberal societies (small l) try to arrange government to give
individuals the largest sphere of liberty concerning important human values speech, worship, property
and so forth compatible with the maximum liberty of others.
Positive liberty is more complicated and not so common sensical. It is the freedom to do something. It
describes the capacity to exercise liberty, not just the absence of interference. What good is the
freedom to own property, for example, if you have no money? Liberty without capacity, in the positive
conception, is meaningless.
Negative liberty is the first political value among many in the political philosophies in the English
liberal tradition and in the liberal democracies they have shaped. In theocratic societies and in the
European political philosophies of the counter Enlightenment, negative liberty is trivial; their ultimate
political values vary by ideology from salvation to sharia to equality and liberty means having the
conditions and capacity for the right values to flourish. Positive liberty always entails a concept of the
good life; negative liberty assumes there are many good lives.
What gave Berlin s ideas such sway was not the brilliance and novelty of the distinction between

As well as discrimination, many older people suffer exclusion and social isolation. There are multiple
reasons that cause older people to become socially isolated including the loss of a partner, family
members moving away, living in rural and remote areas and chronic illness. Age discrimination can
intensify social isolation in a psychological sense just as much as poor transport, poor access to
appropriate housing, inadequate health services and living in isolated areas. Australia s aged care
system is funded and regulated through a complex set of arrangements, involving different levels of
government and a diverse range of stakeholders, including informal carers and formal care providers
from the not for profit (religious and charitable), for profit and government sectors. These
arrangements reflect, in part, the complexities inherent in the broader Australian health and welfare
system. Aged care services in Australia range from basic home support services in the community
(including assistance with house cleaning and meals) to more intensive care services delivered both in
the care recipient s own home and in residential settings. Government support for these services
occurs through a number of programs, subject to different regulatory arrangements, that have emerged
with the evolving roles of different levels of the government in the provision of health services,

The Supreme Law Of The Land
The Executive Branch which carries out laws by the President of the United States, Vice President and
Cabinet, whereas the Legislative Branch is where the Congress makes the laws. With each branch
being able to change the acts of the other branches, this is only if a president vetoes a law that
Congress has passed or if the Justice of Supreme Courts overturns an unconstitutional law and if
Congress accepts (USA.gov). Even though the connection among Congress and the President of the
United States is far different then the Founders imagined set forth in the Constitution, for many reason
the presidency assumed more power than the legislative branch over time.
The Constitution in all its glory holds, as the supreme law of the land , in that it controls the limits of
power that the legislative and executive branches have (Arnold 4). Before the Constitution the
executive branch had no provisions to implement the laws and no national court system to translate
them (U.S. Department of State). Then with the Articles of Confederation and the period in between
the drafting of the Constitution in 1787, was the only national government, the legislation congress
(U.S. Department of State). As the executive branch being the biggest branch in the federal
government it also seen as the most powerful as the President of the United States is at the head

Sign language has quickly been becoming a dominant language across the world in the way that
different culture has been changing in the past few decades. The only way for it to continue becoming
a bigger part of the future is if more and more people begin to understand at least the basics of sign
language. This would not just show how much the world has been changing, it would also benefit
those who really are deaf or hard of hearing and need sign language as a way to communicate with
others that they want to surround themselves with. It would encourage the deaf community to reach
out to more people hoping that they would understand them and appreciate them rather then just not
associating themselves with anyone. With more people beginning

Handwriting v Typing
The process of reading and writing involves a number of senses, she explains. When writing by hand,
our brain receives feedback from our motor actions, together with the sensation of touching a pencil
and paper. These kinds of feedback is significantly different from those we receive when touching and
typing on a keyboard.
Learning by doing
Together with neurophysiologist Jean Luc Velay at the University of Marseille, Anne Mangen has
written an article published in the Advances in Haptics periodical. They have examined research
which goes a long way in confirming the significance of these differences.

A lack of focus
There is a lot of research on haptics in relation to computer games, in which for instance vibrating
hand controls are employed. According to Mangen, virtual drills with sound and vibration are used for
training dentists.
But there has been very little effort to include haptics within the humanistic disciplines, she explains.
In educational science, there is scant interest in the ergonomics of reading and writing, and its
potential significance in the learning process.
Mangen refers to an experiment involving two groups of adults, in which the participants were
assigned the task of having to learn to write in an unknown alphabet, consisting of approximately
twenty letters. One group was taught to write by hand, while the other was using a keyboard. Three
and six weeks into the experiment, the participants recollection of these letters, as well as their
rapidity in distinguishing right and reversed letters, were tested. Those who had learned the letters by
handwriting came out best in all tests. Furthermore, fMRI brain scans indicated an activation of the
Broca s area within this group. Among those who had learned by typing on keyboards, there was little
or no activation of this area.
The sensorimotor component forms an integral part of training for beginners, and in special education
for people with learning difficulties. But there is little awareness and understanding of the importance
of handwriting to the learning

Data Mining and Warehousing Techniques
Background One of the most promising developments in the field of computing and computer
memory over the past few decades has been the ability to bring tremendous complex and large data
sets into database management that are both affordable and workable for many organizations.
Improvement in computer power has also allowed for the field of artificial intelligence to evolve
which also improves the sifting of massive amounts of information for appropriate use in business,
military, governmental, and academic venues. Essentially, data mining is taking as much information
as possible for a variety of databases, sifting it intelligently and coming up with usable information
that will help with data prediction, customer service, what if scenarios, and extrapolating trends for
population groups (Ye, 2003; Therling, 2009). . In any data warehousing model, the ultimate success
of the operation is entirely dependent upon the strengths and weaknesses of the information delivery
tools. If the tools are effective, data will be available in a robust manner that it ultimately appropriate
for the end user. Because there are so many different types of delivery mechanisms, the data must be
available in a variety of formats. In the data warehouse for instance, the data must be transactional
from numerous sources and have the ability to slice and dice into usable reports. We can think of it as
a major information repository functioning in three layers: staging used to store the raw data

The Rule Of The Ottoman Empire
Introduction
As early as 1516, Syria has been known to be ruled under Ottoman Turks Empire for well over several
centuries. In 1916 Arabs and British military collaborated together and rebelled against Turkish rules.
This allowed independence over the Turks for Arab countries and ending 400 years of supreme
political power of the Ottoman Empire. After many years of restructuring Syria economics, social, and
political fields, they combined the Ottoman, French, and Islamic laws up until the 1980 s. The
criminal, civil, and commercial codes were mostly based on the French way of practicing laws. In
1949, they had certain provisions that they had to follow due to religious minorities. Now the Islamic

They had the largest intelligence gathering and internal security was the National Security Directorate,
giving employment to about 25,000 personnel. With other security organizations they would be under
supervision with Ministry of Interior. Now these organizations were responsible for routine police
duties and also for national police force. In the 1960 s the civil police forces were used to extensively
combat against internal security threats to the government. During the 1970 s and 1980 s they used
more conventional ways of dealing with professionalism, also using ways to persuade internal security
asparadus effectively. Syria is considered to be a republic and it consists of executive, legislative, and
the judicial branch of government. The executive branch has a president, two vice presidents, prime
minister and a cabinet. The legislative branch is run by the people s council, which is mainly run by
outsiders. The judicial branch consists of the Supreme Court, the High Judicial Council and the States

in ancient Islamic history. There are three different courts that are in Syria: the courts of first instance,
court of appeals, and the highest court of all is the constitutional court. (Government in Syria.

Defense Of A Stronger Mind
Defense of a Stronger Mind
Definitive conclusions from a mass of observances, authors, and philosophers assume to call this
world A mans world. Accusations as these have placed on society, from past to present, a variety of
assumptions towards women and their place in a male dominated society. To this I ask to what depth
can creditability carry one s opinions or observations of said sex or creed to an absolute certainty?
Author Mary Wollstonecraft, in The Vindication of the Rights of Woman, pursues the definition of
women from their own negligence, to an awakening of a female revolution in becoming equals in this
society. I will first follow Wollstonecraft, in the beginning of an issue of how the environment plays
on women.
As girls, women are taught neither to challenge or question the superiority of men. In this thought
alone, one can believe that the ideological stance of the women of influence present in this time,
pressing these ideas to the youth, have themselves seen circumstances to believe that this idea would
be one to follow. Further, the depth of this idea, prove that women have been hindered by not only
social placing but also ideological constraints of the past. A girl raised in an environment such as this
would surely be hindered of her advancement or even her own idea of a successful life. Overtly made
to feel as less in those instances, this environment essentially strips women of their individuality,
placing thoughts of the ways of or how to become a

Compare And Contrast Napoleon Bonaparte And Sundiata
Napoleon and Sundiata
Two leaders, both prominent in their own respect, Napoleon Bonaparte, and the legendary Sundiata,
were important figures in their time. Napoleon, who helped restore France to a superpower, and
perhaps the only time in history France could be considered a world power, or at least a country that is
successful in war, led the French Army to many victories until the fateful and historic Battle of
Waterloo, in which he suffered a defeat that he never fully recovered from. Sundiata, born a cripple,
and deemed unfit for anything but a life of mediocrity by his peers, became a great warrior, a great
leader, through his determination and wit, and through his spite for those who shamed his weaknesses
and failed to see his potential. Both had a lasting impact in their ... Show more content on

He won the French many victories, reformed France economically and socially in ways that not only
still influence France today, but influenced much of Europe, and broadly, the rest of the world.
Sundiata, although much of his achievements are uncertain, was, in theory and tale, very similar to
Napoleon in that he started from the bottom of the heap and fought his way up, as well as that they
were both well respected in their leadership. However, there are a few key differences that I will
mention further into this paper. Sundiata Keita, more often called Sundiata, was born in Niani, Guinea,
in 1190. He was born into the royal family, the rulers of Mandinka (present day Guinea), was labeled
as crippled by those around him because he could not walk, and was very physically inept until around
the age of ten. The only reason for Sundiata marrying a woman as unattractive as Sundiata s mother
was an apparent prophecy, in which Sundiata was

Antz Civics
The movie Antz relates to the ideas we have studied in Civics in many ways. The idea in the movie
that different ants have different thoughts on how the country should be run, the idea of what a good
ant citizen should be like and the idea that all ants have their own physical and psychological needs
and wants are all similar topics we have discussed in Civics concerning the world we live in today.
The first character I will discuss is Z. Z believed that he should get a choice in how he contributes to
colony, and a say in what goes on in the colony. Z wanted a place where he could express himself.
These ideas are what lead Z in search of place with more freedom, Insectopia. Evidently, Z believes in
democracy. This government would have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They do what they are told, openly support the ways of the colony and are hesitant to disobey the
rules. An example of this is when Z was sharing his unhappiness of the way the colony is run to
Azteca. Regardless of what her friend was saying, Azteca stayed true to her colony and verbalized her
support for the government system. A colony needs loyal ants like this. Another example is when Z
asks to switch places with weaver and become a soldier for a day. Although Z is a good friend, weaver
is reluctant to say yes as this is against the rules. Members that follow these rules are vital to the
success of a colony. In these ways, Azteca and Weaver act in the interest of the colony. Characters that
acted in their own interests are Z and General Mandible. They make choices based on their own
beliefs and what makes them happy, regardless of the impacts it has on the colony. An example of this
is when Z and Princess Bala fall out of the colony and on to outside land. The princess demands that
she is escorted back as the princess is very important to a colony. Despite this and the needs of the
colony, Z marches towards Insectopia, prioritizing his desire for freedom over the survival of the
colony. Another example is when General Mandible attempted to mass murder thousands of ants
because he felt they were too weak. This kind of behavior is selfish and only supports the interests of
him gaining more power. As

Essay On Malnutrition In America
Mother of five, Cynthia, has a steady job at a nursing home as well as a supportive husband yet
struggles to feed her family on a daily basis. Like many other Americans she does not qualify for
government assistance because she makes too much; in her case thirty eight dollars too much. In cases
like Cynthia s, options seem incredibly limited and there is often no assistance for feeding her family
(abcnews). Over 12 million children under the age of eighteen in the United States are food insecure.
Meaning they are unable to consistently access adequate amounts of nutritious food necessary for a

Personal Narrative-Mandated Public Education System
Eric, I need you to be my monkey, I said, offering him a position in what was, in my twelve year old
mind, the con of a lifetime. Eric, as the ideal product of a state mandated public education system, was
a superb candidate for my morally debatable endeavor. He was just smart enough to follow orders and
even improvise (within set limits, of course) accordingly, yet not quite clever enough as to devise a
subterfuge of his own. His toothy smile flashed in the dark, damp environment of the sleeping tent;
this clearly was not his first con. I m in. I grinned back, wrapped my arm around his shoulder, and
walked off, concocting the ultimate scheme. One that, if we chose, could have been continued for
years. The plan was surprisingly simple. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shortly thereafter, cards began to circulate, and tactics that previously would only have been
employed during drastic psychological warfare quickly became commonplace. As time went on and
cigars were lit and distributed amongst the adults, cleverly crafted lies and bluffs became
indistinguishable from the truth, and elements that may very well have violated provisions of the
Hague and Geneva Conventions were instituted in increments. The little cousins started to squirm,
forced to deny themselves bathroom privileges upon penalty of forfeiture. The smoke began to stratify
in the tent, forming layers of toxic clouds so thick that it would not have surprised anyone if they
simply burst and rained liquid nicotine down upon us without warning. Eyes burned, slowly darkening
to a shade near carmine, but we persisted, accustomed to and to some extent, even secretly enjoying
this sort of foul play. Eric and I were impervious to even their best attempts and counter plays,
hardened by years of experience and protected by our brilliant strategy. Amounting chips faster and
more efficiently than anyone else infuriated the other players, practically forcing them to make larger
bets every hand in order to compensate for their past losses. As the night advanced, this sort of
behavior continued, quickly dwindling down the pool of competitors. So quickly, in fact, that within
the hour, there were only three of us left; an unprecedented and, to others, catastrophically rapid

Abstract:
„For every complex problem, there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong This quote is the best

Weightlifting Gloves
You can get a great workout with nothing but the clothes on your back, but the world of fitness is

fitness accessories on the market today, shopping for the right accessories for your routine can be

understanding the various benefits of these items will help you determine the effectiveness of other

However, you should keep two things in mind when using gym chalk. First, gym chalk makes a huge
mess on equipment and on the floor. Prepare to wipe off nearly everything that you touch. Second, it s
very common for gym chalk to be banned in gyms because of the mess that it makes. If you frequent a
gym, check the rules on gym chalk before using it there.
Lifting Straps
Lifting straps do more than reinforce your grip on a barbell. They also allow you to lift more weight
than you would without them. They wrap around your wrists and then they re securely strapped to the
barbell to support the weight while you prepare to lift or as you set it down. While they do help you
lift more, they have also been criticized for weakening grip strength. To combat this, perform
exercises that improve your grip and hand strength.
Weightlifting Belts
A weightlifting belt will keep your motion controlled to prevent strain and injury while exercising. It
restricts your movement in bending forward, keeping strain off of your spine and prompting you to lift
with legs instead of your back. This improved form will not only relieve pain and help prevent injury
but it will also help you achieve a good form while exercising to increase the effectiveness of your

Ethical Values From The Book The Dispossessed Written By...
What is ethics? It is a code of conduct that a human being lives by. Being ethical makes life a bit
easier and simpler because of the boundaries and code of conduct we set for our selves. Many authors
implement their own ethical values into their stories, which sometimes give the reader an insight into
the kind of person the author is. Making references to an article by Daniel P Jaeckle, I will be
analyzing the three ethical values from the book The Dispossessed written by Ursula K. LeGuin, that
have been layered together in a way that it creates interpersonal ethics, ethics of mutual aid, ethics of
shared pain, and ethics of the bond, designed to meet the needs of an anarchist society. Anarchism is a
philosophy based on voluntary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only weakness. (Ch. 7) In his article, Jaeckle hints that LeGuin borrowed this ethical value from the
work of a Russian anarchist Peter Kropotkin. It can be said that Shevek increases the variety of the
sociality to species way beyond human beings. He calls this so called species social species . The fact
that he does this is so important because it signifies that being social is not something that is
religiously necessary or related to someone s past. Being social or anti social can occur at any age
through out someone s life. From the above quote, Shevek s dialogue can be perceived as an
interpretation of Darwin s principle the survival of the fittest. Yes, it is somewhat true that people who
are social are the strongest and those who are anti social are weak, only because the social species
know how to get around people and the anti social ones are too afraid to speak to anyone else, hence
they sometimes get into trouble even if they didn t mean to. How does this relate to ethics? Well,
according to the quote above, a competitive society that focuses on domination rather than equality
will commit an unethical blunder. This blunder will lead to misunderstanding of the importance of the
forces that moves humanity and the other social species forward and to evolution. Where does mutual
aid come into play here? How is mutual aid connected to the social species? It is rather simple. Most
social species tend to live

shaping management styles in the three electronic plants. These four variables are: the initial culture

  • 3. Implications Of Economic Globalization Economic globalisation is a multi dimensional process based on the continuous integration between domestic economies along with the increased impacts of international influences on all aspects of economic activity and general life. The process of globalisation is extensively characterised by: An acceptance of a set of economic agreements by the entire consolidated world economy, designed to maximise profits and productivity by universalising markets and production, and to obtain the support of a nation with a view to its economy becoming more productive and competitive (R. Urzua, 2000). technological innovation and organisational change centred on flexibilisation and adaptability; the expansion of a specific form of social organisation based on information as the main source of productivity and power. (R. Urzua, 2000) And primarily comprises the globalization of production, finance, markets, technology, organizational regimes, institutions, corporations, and labour (James et al., vols. 1 4 2007). While economic globalization has been expanding since the emergence of transnational trade, it has grown at an increased rate due to an increase in communication and technological advances under the framework of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and World Trade Organization (WTO), establishing the gradual decline in trade barriers. (Gao 2000) This recent boom in economic integration has been largely supported by developed economies integrating with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Reflection Paper On Christmas Angels Christmas Angels Christmas in the Chapel has been a huge staple in my childhood, and every year, I ve looked forward to seeing the signing angels from my church Jefferson Street of from Lincoln Christian Church. In January 2015, I was able to join their group, Praise Handmade, and entered the Heavenlies , as we call it, that December. Our Head Angel , Angela, and three other girls, Rebecca, Bethany, and Erin, were in my first group for two years, and they had done it before. I was new to all of this, and I was the youngest and the smallest (I was 11 my first year); being afraid of heights did not help at all. The platform we were on was the highest part on the stage, and there was was nothing to keep us from falling; the stage is about 15 feet into the air. During my first rehearsal on the stage, my skin turned as pale as a ghost and my body was as still as a statue; I was completely petrified. When the song was over, I moved to a lower level of the stage to calm down. One of the angels (I don t remember who) asked me, Are you okay? I told them I was fine, though I was still trembling a little bit from fear. How was I supposed to do it in front of several people if I couldn t even rehearse up there without having a panic attack? Thankfully, I soon got used to the height, though the first time up there every year still makes my heart pound; I think it does for everyone. For my third year, I was able to look up for our last sign for the very first time. The chapel has 5 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Direct Reimbursement Analysis Direct reimbursement is a plan that involves direct and unlimited reimbursements as long as they are allowed and reasonable (Johnston Marshall, 2009, p.379). This plan allows the sales manager a little control over both the magnitude of sales expenses and the kinds of activities salespeople will be motivated to do (Johnston Marshall, 2009, p.379). Moreover, direct reimbursement will allow sales reps to take possible new accounts to lunch to try to get their business (Johnston Marshall, 2009). By allowing sales reps to get direct reimbursement on expenses it will stimulate the sales reps to use it (Johnston Marshall, 2009). The sales rep has to turn in receipts and justify the expenses before they can be reimbursed (Johnston Marshall, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With a company using limited reimbursement they set an expense budget at the beginning of the year, moreover, this allows them to figure out how much each sales rep can spend (Johnston Marshall, 2009). Furthermore, the sales rep may only be able to spend $50 per lunch for possible new accounts (Johnston Marshall, 2009). Limited reimbursement could hurt a company if they spend all the money in the budget and still have a few months left in the year. Moreover, the sales rep will either have to pay for lunch out of their pocket or not take the potential new account to lunch (Johnston Marshall, 2009). In this case for MedTech Pharmaceuticals and the sales force, I would suggest direct reimbursement would work best. If MedTech used direct reimbursement they would know what the sales rep used the money for, moreover, MedTech would know it was not used for personal items (Investopedia, 2016). I would choose the direct reimbursement Moreover, I would not want my sales reps worrying about the price of lunch; I would want them to concentrate on getting a new ... • 6. VygotskyÂŽs Zone Proximal Development Essay Vygotsky has had a profound impact on developmental psychology. One of his main contributions was the idea of zone proximal development. He places emphasis the shaping of cognitive development. He is one of the first in children development that emphasized on cultural context. I have chosen his theory and what it entails for this paper because its very interesting and some certain parts of his theory like scaffolding and the zone proximal development were relatable to my experience at my field site. This theorist believed that our minds, cognition, and psychological abilities could be development with mental tools as much our physical tools expand our physical abilities. This concept is called the tools of the mind . This is something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They get a chance to interact with other students and children. Children make friends and can start to develop social relationships. Students can get the attention they need that they don t get at home or maybe from teachers at afterschool programs. The programs provide a positive surrounding for students to be. Social environments do have an effect on them. It can be positive or negative, so it s important that where they decide to be is going to have an optimistic and profound effect on children. As a service learner, I learned that by just being around and being there with them weekly is giving them a positive social environment that they might not get at home or the neighborhood they reside. Also the afterschool program allows them to keep friendships and permit them to flourish. The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) another part of Vygotsky theory is applied a lot in classrooms by teachers. By definition it is the difference between what a learner can do without help and what he or she can do with help. Apart of that is a concept called scaffolding, which helps us understand how aiming coaching within a students/child s ZPD can stimulate and increase knowledge and development. Although this theory is practiced predominantly in the classroom, us service learners can attempt to use it as well. For example a student at my field site asked me for help with an assignment she was given by her teacher. She ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Material manager deals with the tangible components of a supply chain covering the acquisition and replacement of parts, quality control of purchasing and ordering parts, and the standards involved in ordering, shipping, and warehousing those parts. I think in this case, it would be beneficial for the company to hire one; it would consolidate all aspects of the supply chain and better the communication between all the departments involved. 5. Should Glass build up her inventories? I don t think it s just a matter of building up the inventory. All you are doing there is trading the cost of higher freight bills for the cost of keeping a larger inventory. It s not just building the inventory, its accurately building the inventory through better forecasting. Case Study # 3 Pacific Healthcare 1. What alternatives should Barney Rubble consider when addressing the problem? It is clear that there are several cheaper options than Kodak. The problem is that Kodak also furnishes X ray equipment at a lower price, including maintenance and service because of the single supplier agreement they have with Pacific. She used to carry it on her back wherever she went, beam rays of light onto the petals of flowers and onto people s faces, the twins always used to say. My aunt attested to that as well. • 10. All Quiet On The Western Front And Night Long Essay #1 In the two books we read in class, All Quiet on the Western Front and Night we see that the two world wars of the twentieth century produced unprecedented destruction to human life. We see this because in Remarque s All Quiet on the Western Front, he says that after witnessing bodies getting blown up, people getting shot, things burning down and loud noises every day, he was forced to realize that he no longer belonged to the society that he came from. He realized that he now belonged to the world of war and that even if he tried to go back to his home, there would be nothing left for him to go back to. Throughout the books he makes references that his family becomes the people he was fighting with, even the people he was fighting against because they were the only ones who understood what he was going through (Remarque, 1929). He and his family no longer kept in contact and so he was basically in the world alone with no practically no loved one to lean on. The same goes for the Ellie Wiesel s Night. Ellie gets taken away from his family and forcibly put into a concentration camp in which he never knew existed. The camp life was harsh and brutal. He saw sons killing their fathers for food and people dying every day simply for the lack of water. He was forced to do hard work and take long journey s in which had the intention of killing him and his counter parts because they were Jewish. He no longer spoke to his mother or sister and his father had just died. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Pentecostal Movement Its Impact Among the Dalits and... I. Introduction The prime focus of this paper is to explore the modern Pentecostal or charismatic movement and its impacts among the Dalits and the tribal in India. In this paper the presenter will also try to bring out a brief origins and historical development of Pentecostalism, in order to understand the movement and its impact on the Dalits and the tribal in India. 1. Etymology of the term Pentecostal The term Pentecostal is derived from the Greek word pentekostĂ© which literally means fifty . It is the Greek name for the Jewish festival known as the Feast of Weeks in the Old Testament, which celebrates the fiftieth day after Passover observances. The New Testament used the term to refer to the established Jewish feast. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the Azusa Street revival on April 1906, Azusa Street soon became the Mecca for thousands of visitors around the world. The people who visited this place went back to their homelands spread this new experience and spread the Pentecostalism to other parts of the world and formed Pentecostal churches. From the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles, Pentecostalism spread rapidly around the world and began its advance toward becoming a major force in Christendom. 5. Pentecostalism Movement in India We have observed the modern Pentecostal movement in the 20th century that sparked out of the revivals that took place at Azusa Street, Los Angeles, which spread rapidly to the ends of the earth. Most of the scholars traced back the origin of Pentecostalism to the Azusa Street revival in 1906. However, it is not yet firmly established as to when the Pentecostalism started in India because prior to the coming of Pentecostal missionaries in the 20th century there were Pentecostal like events in the history of Christianity in India. According to Gary McGee, the eminent historian of Assemblies of God, Pentecostalism had already established itself in India long before word of Azusa reached the subcontinent. He validated by showing the documentary evidence that Pentecost, with all the associated phenomena, came ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. A Distinct Concepts Of Liberty Berlin argued that there were two very distinct concepts of liberty competing in the history of political philosophy. Negative liberty describes the freedom not to be interfered with. It is the common and common sense understanding of freedom. Liberal societies (small l) try to arrange government to give individuals the largest sphere of liberty concerning important human values speech, worship, property and so forth compatible with the maximum liberty of others. Positive liberty is more complicated and not so common sensical. It is the freedom to do something. It describes the capacity to exercise liberty, not just the absence of interference. What good is the freedom to own property, for example, if you have no money? Liberty without capacity, in the positive conception, is meaningless. Negative liberty is the first political value among many in the political philosophies in the English liberal tradition and in the liberal democracies they have shaped. In theocratic societies and in the European political philosophies of the counter Enlightenment, negative liberty is trivial; their ultimate political values vary by ideology from salvation to sharia to equality and liberty means having the conditions and capacity for the right values to flourish. Positive liberty always entails a concept of the good life; negative liberty assumes there are many good lives. What gave Berlin s ideas such sway was not the brilliance and novelty of the distinction between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As well as discrimination, many older people suffer exclusion and social isolation. There are multiple reasons that cause older people to become socially isolated including the loss of a partner, family members moving away, living in rural and remote areas and chronic illness. Age discrimination can intensify social isolation in a psychological sense just as much as poor transport, poor access to appropriate housing, inadequate health services and living in isolated areas. Australia s aged care system is funded and regulated through a complex set of arrangements, involving different levels of government and a diverse range of stakeholders, including informal carers and formal care providers from the not for profit (religious and charitable), for profit and government sectors. These arrangements reflect, in part, the complexities inherent in the broader Australian health and welfare system. Aged care services in Australia range from basic home support services in the community (including assistance with house cleaning and meals) to more intensive care services delivered both in the care recipient s own home and in residential settings. Government support for these services occurs through a number of programs, subject to different regulatory arrangements, that have emerged with the evolving roles of different levels of the government in the provision of health services, welfare services and income ... The Supreme Law Of The Land The Executive Branch which carries out laws by the President of the United States, Vice President and Cabinet, whereas the Legislative Branch is where the Congress makes the laws. With each branch being able to change the acts of the other branches, this is only if a president vetoes a law that Congress has passed or if the Justice of Supreme Courts overturns an unconstitutional law and if Congress accepts (USA.gov). Even though the connection among Congress and the President of the United States is far different then the Founders imagined set forth in the Constitution, for many reason the presidency assumed more power than the legislative branch over time. The Constitution in all its glory holds, as the supreme law of the land , in that it controls the limits of power that the legislative and executive branches have (Arnold 4). Before the Constitution the executive branch had no provisions to implement the laws and no national court system to translate them (U.S. Department of State). This would not just show how much the world has been changing, it would also benefit those who really are deaf or hard of hearing and need sign language as a way to communicate with others that they want to surround themselves with. It would encourage the deaf community to reach out to more people hoping that they would understand them and appreciate them rather then just not associating themselves with anyone. When writing by hand, our brain receives feedback from our motor actions, together with the sensation of touching a pencil and paper. These kinds of feedback is significantly different from those we receive when touching and typing on a keyboard. Learning by doing Together with neurophysiologist Jean Luc Velay at the University of Marseille, Anne Mangen has written an article published in the Advances in Haptics periodical. According to Mangen, virtual drills with sound and vibration are used for training dentists. But there has been very little effort to include haptics within the humanistic disciplines, she explains. In educational science, there is scant interest in the ergonomics of reading and writing, and its potential significance in the learning process. Mangen refers to an experiment involving two groups of adults, in which the participants were assigned the task of having to learn to write in an unknown alphabet, consisting of approximately twenty letters. One group was taught to write by hand, while the other was using a keyboard. Three and six weeks into the experiment, the participants recollection of these letters, as well as their rapidity in distinguishing right and reversed letters, were tested. Those who had learned the letters by handwriting came out best in all tests. Furthermore, fMRI brain scans indicated an activation of the Broca s area within this group. Among those who had learned by typing on keyboards, there was little or no activation of this area. The sensorimotor component forms an integral part of training for beginners, and in special education for people with learning difficulties. • 21. Data Mining and Warehousing Techniques Background One of the most promising developments in the field of computing and computer memory over the past few decades has been the ability to bring tremendous complex and large data sets into database management that are both affordable and workable for many organizations. Improvement in computer power has also allowed for the field of artificial intelligence to evolve which also improves the sifting of massive amounts of information for appropriate use in business, military, governmental, and academic venues. Essentially, data mining is taking as much information as possible for a variety of databases, sifting it intelligently and coming up with usable information that will help with data prediction, customer service, what if scenarios, and extrapolating trends for population groups (Ye, 2003; Therling, 2009). . In any data warehousing model, the ultimate success of the operation is entirely dependent upon the strengths and weaknesses of the information delivery tools. If the tools are effective, data will be available in a robust manner that it ultimately appropriate for the end user. Because there are so many different types of delivery mechanisms, the data must be available in a variety of formats. In the data warehouse for instance, the data must be transactional from numerous sources and have the ability to slice and dice into usable reports. We can think of it as a major information repository functioning in three layers: staging used to store the raw data ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Accusations as these have placed on society, from past to present, a variety of assumptions towards women and their place in a male dominated society. To this I ask to what depth can creditability carry one s opinions or observations of said sex or creed to an absolute certainty? Author Mary Wollstonecraft, in The Vindication of the Rights of Woman, pursues the definition of women from their own negligence, to an awakening of a female revolution in becoming equals in this society. I will first follow Wollstonecraft, in the beginning of an issue of how the environment plays on women. As girls, women are taught neither to challenge or question the superiority of men. In this thought alone, one can believe that the ideological stance of the women of influence present in this time, pressing these ideas to the youth, have themselves seen circumstances to believe that this idea would be one to follow. Further, the depth of this idea, prove that women have been hindered by not only social placing but also ideological constraints of the past. A girl raised in an environment such as this would surely be hindered of her advancement or even her own idea of a successful life. Sundiata, born a cripple, and deemed unfit for anything but a life of mediocrity by his peers, became a great warrior, a great leader, through his determination and wit, and through his spite for those who shamed his weaknesses and failed to see his potential. Being ethical makes life a bit easier and simpler because of the boundaries and code of conduct we set for our selves. Many authors implement their own ethical values into their stories, which sometimes give the reader an insight into the kind of person the author is. Making references to an article by Daniel P Jaeckle, I will be analyzing the three ethical values from the book The Dispossessed written by Ursula K. (Ch. 7) In his article, Jaeckle hints that LeGuin borrowed this ethical value from the work of a Russian anarchist Peter Kropotkin. It can be said that Shevek increases the variety of the sociality to species way beyond human beings. He calls this so called species social species . The fact that he does this is so important because it signifies that being social is not something that is religiously necessary or related to someone s past. Being social or anti social can occur at any age through out someone s life. From the above quote, Shevek s dialogue can be perceived as an interpretation of Darwin s principle the survival of the fittest. Yes, it is somewhat true that people who are social are the strongest and those who are anti social are weak, only because the social species know how to get around people and the anti social ones are too afraid to speak to anyone else, hence they sometimes get into trouble even if they didn t mean to. How does this relate to ethics? Well, according to the quote above, a competitive society that focuses on domination rather than equality will commit an unethical blunder. This blunder will lead to misunderstanding of the importance of the forces that moves humanity and the other social species forward and to evolution. Where does mutual aid come into play here? How is mutual aid connected to the social species? It is rather simple. Most social species tend to live ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
