Hard Times And Pride And Prejudice Essay
The novels Hard Times (1854) written by Charles Dickens (1812 1870) and Pride and Prejudice
(1813) written by Jane Austen (1775 1817) are two very distinct literary works, written and published
in two completely different eras. While Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice in the Georgian era, Dickens
s novel Hard Times is a part of the Victorian age. These novels represent disparate worlds, that of rigid
and utilitarian aspects on one hand and domestic concerns over marriage and property on the other.
These novels represent women in a certain light, quite different from the each other, but the same. This
paper thus aims to analyse the portrayal of female characters by Dickens and Austen in the
aforementioned novels, in view of their gender identities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is an opposition with which Dickens makes extended ironic play later in the story, when Sissy
becomes the homemaker, the most settled and the most respectable member of the Gradgrind family.
She is,at the beginning of the book, not only of questionable parentage but a virtual orphan. From this
situation there develops an ironic opposition between the ties of blood and those of affectiom, for
Sissy, deprived of a family by blood, is supported by the extended, unorthodox family of the circus
people and she eventually becomes Gradgrind s honorary and truest daughter. Her love is undying and
is not affected by his loveless teaching. Her devotion brings about family feeling in her new father and
sister as when, in Louisa s grave trouble, the once deserted girl shone like a beautiful light upon the
darkness of the other (Dickens, 248). Sissy becomes the motherly, sisterly and daughterly heart of the
adoptive family and her very nickname signals her familial role throughout the story, as the
archetypical sister. However, the reward for this depiction of virtue is confined within the family.
Although Sissy grows from child to woman in years, she does not move, like most of Dickens s good
women, beyond the roles of a surrogate mother, daughter and sister to sexual maturity. Initially, the

The Disaster Recovery Plan And A Business Continuity Plan
Compared and contrasted business continuity plans with disaster recovery plans
A disaster recovery plan and a business continuity plan, are very important to all business and their
marketing plan. These plans provide detail strategies on how the business will continue to operate,
before, doing and after a disaster. About 25% of business that do not have these plans and are hit by a
disaster, fail to reopen. (Smith, n.d.). This is why a disaster and recovery and business continuity plan
are important to a business if they wish to withstand a disaster and reopen with little or no problem.
The Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) provides comprehensive strategy on the actions that employees
should follow doing and after a disaster. The plan should provide exit procedures, the online
communication instructions to make sure that all employees are accounted for and the main
communication and rally point, with the central hub. The hub should carry emergency supplies,
backup information, flashlights and other important items need for the safety of the business,
employees and their customers.
The Business Continuity Plan (BCP) enhances the DRP a few step further. It outlines how the business
will ran and managed after the disaster. It should outline how the business should continue after a
small disaster event, like a power outage to a major problem like a major storm that might last a few
days. Within the outline it should there should be information as to where the business will operate,

Personal Computer Data Recovery
Anyone who has had the unfortunate experience of having their personal computer crash knows the
anguish that can result. When irreplaceable files, email addresses, pictures, videos and other personal
details are seemingly lost for good, despair doesn t begin to describe the feelings involved.
You might be relieved to hear there are four effective computer data recovery options available which
could help restore some, if not all of your files, as noted below.
1. Check other hardware components.
Occasionally a computer data recovery effort will not even be required at all. While it might seem like
a hard drive has crashed, another component may be to blame. For example, the mother board or
power supply might be faulty. Therefore, it makes sense to check ... Show more content on

Data recovery software programs.
If the operating system or hardware issues are not blame for the failure and the computer will still boot
up, a computer data recovery disk might help restore missing or accidentally deleted files. There are
programs available from computer shops and online that are specifically designed to help with data
recovery efforts.
4. Professional data recovery services.
There are companies that specialize in computer data recovery. They have the necessary hardware and
software tools required to be able to recover files that individuals will not have at home or in the
office. While these services can be costly, I m sure that if your data is restored, you ll agree that the
expense is worth it. Beyond regular computer professional services that specialize in data recovery,
computer forensics companies might be able to help out in extreme cases (for example, computers
damaged in the case of fire or flood).
Computer data recovery is possible even when a hardware crash or failure has occurred. While the
results will vary depending on the severity of the crash, the cause and the methods used, it is possible
to retrieve files and data off of even the most severely damaged of hard

An Analysis Of Hans Taparia And Pamela Koch s New York...
Rhetorical Analysis Essay: A Seismic Shift in How People Eat In Hans Taparia and Pamela Koch s
New York Times online article A Seismic Shift in How People Eat, posted on November 6, 2015, the
current struggle that big food companies are experiencing in relation to increased consumer awareness
is discussed. Prompting this article is the overwhelming movement to healthy eating by the general
populace and the havoc it is wreaking on corporate companies. Highly popular among health
enthusiasts of all ages, the topic of this paper appeals to a wide audience. Although easily missed at
first due to the beautiful flow and structure of the paper, the opinions and claims by Taparia and Koch
are primarily based in logos where facts and statistics are quoted, and a fair amount of pathos where
vivid imagery is utilized to paint a picture of the scenario for the reader. Differing slightly from the
normal presentation, the ethos of the paper is not so much enforced through personal titles or
anecdotes, but rather through the combination of presenting the ideas and facts clearly and
persuasively, all adding to the author s credibility. When the paper comes to a conclusion, the reader is
left with a solid understanding of how big food companies are finally being forced to share their dirty
secrets and clean up their act in order to compete with the small scale, organic based companies and
the jeopardy they are facing unless they change their ways drastically. As the paper begins,

Quarantine Essential Questions
Essential Question #1 What does the experience of the blind in the quarantine tell us about modern
government? The Experience in the quarantine is a critic on the different forms of government in the
modern world. At first look there is a stark contrast between the two regimes in parts 8 11 of the novel.
At first there is the doctor s regime , which is democratic but ultimately inefficient as the attendees
must waste time by making decisions diplomatically. But as seen in part 8, as more and more of the
members begin to lose their sight, diplomacy falls to the side. (Gradesaver.com). The Ward becomes
more and more hopeless as the facility reaches maximum capacity and news from the outside world
stops due to the radio broadcaster s sight being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The doctors wife seemed so overwhelmed knowing she was the one responsible for the group because
she was the one who had to go through these obstacles with them only she could visibly see what they
were facing. The people in the group had to put their trust in her and I think that really weighed
heavily on her shoulders knowing their lives were in her hands. The doctor s wife is also extremely
happy that she can care for the blind less and less as the ward members continue to get their sight back
and the fact that her and her husband will no longer have to live in the filth of the ward. I believe the
wife had many moments of doubt when it came to taking care of the group because it would take a lot
of responsibility for just one person. I think from this, you can get glimpses of her character and
personality. From the beginning we see that she just couldn t leave her husband and wanted to stay
which led to her lying to the doctors and telling them that she was indeed blind
(www.psychologytoday.com). So how could we assume she would just leave the rest of the group
there? Leaving them in those conditions to die would be unthinkable when there was still a glimpse of
hope out there. The doctor s wife feels as if since she has been given this gift (or arguably, burden) of
immunity to the sickness, she should take this as an advantage into helping others who can t help

Criminal Behavior And Strict Liability
When studying criminal behavior and strict liability, exploring the possible causations that may
contribute to criminal behavior is important. Examining family backgrounds, genetic make ups and
parenting are some factors that influence criminal behavior. Understand the possible risk factors of
criminal behavior helps us to better understand why people commit crimes. This paper will attempt to
critically analyze two articles on the concept of criminal behavior and law as it pertains to strict
liability. Criminal Conduct In the early 1960 s the movement of the Model Penal Code transformed
American criminal law by the American Law Institute. The MPC seek to bring analytical clarity to the
definition and interpretation of criminal statutes that were encrusted with ill defined law terms such as
malice aforethought (Brown, 2012, p. 287). Criminal conduct can be defined as conduct of an offender
that leads to and including a commission of an unlawful act (USLEGAL, n.d.) A recent current event
that is a prime example of criminal behavior or criminal conduct is the tragedy that occurred at Smith
Mountain Lake in Virginia. A former disgruntled employee, Vester Lee Flanagan aka Bryce Williams
opened fire on WDBJ news reporter Alison Parker, camera man Adam Ward and chamber of
commerce executive woman Vicki Gardner during a live morning broadcast. Flanagan s criminal
conduct was escalated by years of what he claimed as being harassed and a victim of racial slurs and

The Role Of Evolution In A Combat Environment
The need to evolve in a combat environment is not a new concept and seems that as technology
advances, the need to race to the forefront becomes ever more critical. Over the past few decades to
include every day of the United States combat operations in Afghanistan, the 160TH Special
Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR)has met the needs of the warfighter and also been brutally
made aware of the need to evolve people, equipment and tactics. Starting Operation Enduring
Freedom with the MH 47E Heavy Assault Helicopter caused the Army to realize first that the
operational environment was complicated enough to need to improve the equipment (highlighted by
the events of Roberts Ridge and other operations). Technology made it possible to adapt a ... Show

Maya Angelou
Tiavounta Hudson
Thesis
Even though Maya Angelou had several problems in her life she overcame them and became
successful, she became a civil rights activist and she also wrote poems and books that inspired people
to become writers and many more other things. Background
In the late 1950 s the civil rights movement begins,The civil rights movement was about racial
discrimination and the segregation between African American people and white people. African
American people didn t have much to do or an opportunity to do many things, like there wasn t a lot of
African American women as writers. There really wasn t a lot of African Americans as a anything,
because they didn t have rights to do anything.
Build up
As Maya Angelou grew up she had to deal with racial discrimination and she wanted to do something
about it so she wrote books, poems even tried to team up with Malcolm x and Martin Luther King to
do something about it but she didn t get a chance to actually work with Martin Luther king and

Who Is Tcheltchew s Hide-And-Seek
The Hide and Seek painting which was completed in 1942 is the most celebrated work of Pavel
Tcheltchew . Even though it was completed in 1942, he had been working on various images since
1934 that were incorporated into this painting. Tcheltchew was born in 1898 and was raised in
Moscow until the Russian Revolution forced his family to flee. He had various jobs working for local
theatres building stage sets while he also worked on his paintings. In the 1920 s he changed the focus
of his art to one of using multiple images which sought to reveal both the organic substructure of an
object as well as its place in space and time. He intended to reveal not just the illusion of an object as
seen by the normal eye but the sum of inner knowledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this picture was strange and somewhat scary. The painting presents an apocalyptic vision of
the childhood game. The canvas is dominated by a large tree and has profiles of children with their
mouths open in horror. The painting offers double or multiple readings; the game of hide and seek
where children are depicted in the work and by the viewer who can make endless discoveries
embedded in the dense thicket of designs. Words that come to mind when looking at this painting have
dark connotations. Words such as burning, fire, horror story and hellish have been used to describe
feelings that may be experienced when looking at the painting Upon close inspection of the painting,
there can be found images that cannot be seen from a distance. An example is the vein in one child s
face that has a faint dandelion that served as a pedestal for another child. This kind of imagery is
understandable because of the time period in which it was painted, during World War II. The design in
this painting is a consummate statement of figure ground, which is the situation where an image on
one side of its boundary can be reversed to become the background of a different image on the other
side of the boundary. Every visible object in the painting, tree, hand, child, leaf, and bird is perceived
in a state of change reflecting the transformations that occur in nature. The

Think about an average person in the American society lasting a lifetime without one? Well luckily
thanks to the invention of the toilet, most people in the world do not have to worry about living in
unsanitary conditions without one. The invention of the toilet has helped change the ways of the early

arrangement that made our modern toilet (Keating 1). The valve and siphon is such a great importance
because it made the modern day toilet possible. Kay Keating points out that Thomas Crapper also held
nine patents towards the formation of the modern toilet (Keating 1). Many parts and pieces have been
attributed to the invention of the toilet along with many types of decorations that have been added to
the toilet throughout its time of being created as works of art. Writers from
Inventhelp.com state that Sir John Harrington invented a facility (toilet) that had a seat, a bowl, and a
cistern (Inventhelp.com 1). This shows an importance of early contributors striving to create a toilet.
Inventhelp.com also writes that Sir John Harrington invented a very primitive version of the water
closet which was water stored in a compartment used for washing away contaminants(Inventhelp.com

somewhat more of an art for decorating rather than a sanitary device since it was so expensive at the

On The Waterfront, by Elia Kazan Essay
For a near championship boxer to fall from the limelight after a defeat is fairly common, but to lose
due to his own brother betting against him is unheard of. Elia Kazan s On the Waterfront portrays the
role of this former fighter living his life as a bum under a local mob boss. This movie stands out from
how movies are portrayed today. It didn t have a lot of fast chase scenes, immense battles, or over the
top special effects. This movie focused on its characters, by portraying their reactions to the
cumbersome niche they play on the dockyard. It was driven by a series of intertwined conflicts, and a
strong mix of character development and storytelling, and made for a phenomenal piece of art.

She is portrayed as moral innocence, beckoning to Terry to tell the truth and bring justice to those that
slew her brother. She helps the audience relate to an outsider looking in on a society that has accepted
their role as slaves to those with greater power. Father Barry, a minister who preaches against the
crimes of the mob, pushes Terry along the path to truth. He urges him to speak out against his
oppressors for the good of the entire dock. He brings a strong sense of justice and righteous action to a
community otherwise broken and accepting of their roles as thralls. The conflicts fueling this story are
also provided by a livid cast of characters and a dark story to be told. Development of both characters
and story can be hard to draw a fine line on, but On the Waterfront walks that line like an acrobat.
There was a strong emphasis on getting the viewer to feel what the main characters were feeling. As
Father Barry gave his crucifixion speech, the emotions and reactions portrayed by the father and his
onlookers simply added to the powerful statements he was preaching. The dockworkers with no
connections in the mob knew he spoke the truth, and yet their faces showed that they were too afraid
to even mention working conditions or recent killings committed by the mob. Although the movie had
an emphasis towards building knowledge only about the main characters, background characters only
amplified the feelings the audience

Eugene Sandow s Bodybuilding And The Bodybuilding Industry
Eugene Sandow started bodybuilding in the late nineteenth century. He was known of his time to have
a great physique, and it drew many admirers. Known as The Father of Bodybuilding , he began the
bodybuilding industry by promoting competitions and selling exercise equipment. Today, the
bodybuilding industry is as big as ever as more people are interested in achieving their ideal physique.
The image of bodybuilders is still viewed negatively by the public. When people hear of
bodybuilding, they most often think of big, steroid abusing tools that are obsessed with gaining
muscle. They fail to observe the deeper reasoning behind bodybuilding. Fictional accounts of
bodybuilders, endured by writers who did not experience the lifestyle, is a moral transgression. It is a
moral transgression to write fictional accounts on bodybuilding because it is a form of art. It is an art
in which the artists (bodybuilders) present their physique as the artwork. Bodybuilders spend hours at

Saint Augustine Of Hippo Once Stated
Saint Augustine of Hippo once stated, The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one
page. It was after stumbling across this statement that I was influenced to call up my friend and
suggest a road trip.
When we started off, it was a beautiful day. The bright morning sun peeked over the Appalachian
mountains to bid us farewell as we packed our belongings into the 2011 Chevy Cruze. Dew still
perched on the delicate leaves of various summer flowers while we rode down the road towards
Tennessee.
My friend Sarah drove. Her fingers tapped the steering wheel in rhythm to the Carrie Underwood song
blaring from the radio. It was the radio s job to keep us awake since we had left so early in the
morning; however, it was not doing a good job as I fell asleep only twenty minutes into the ride. Sarah
had to wake me up at the rest stop just outside of Roanoke, Virginia.
Hey, Allyson, she called as she shook my shoulders, it would be nice if you woke up, so I could take a
nap.
I just mumbled an incoherent string of words in response.
I can just drive right back to Pennsylvania. We don t have to take a road trip.
That got me up. I had so much invested into this trip like money and time.
I sat in the driver s seat and watched the road continuously channel under the car sort of like a
conveyor belt. It was hypnotizing, just keeping my eye on the road. Before either Sarah or I knew it,
we were already parked in front of our hotel in Gatlinburg,

Music Influence On Music And Culture
Imagine going through the whole day without music. No radio, no Apple Music, no Spotify; nothing.
Most people fail to realize it, but music is a tremendous part of our everyday lives. But what makes
music so appealing to the human race? Why do we depend on music to get us through the day or to
relax us at night? Most people say they listen to music just because they like the way it sounds or they
like the artist that sings the song, but there are much deeper psychological reasons why people turn on
the radio in the car or plug in their ear buds at work. Music provides a means of escape, and it helps
our overall outlook on life and the world we live in (SchÀfer). Music is crucial to society and culture
due to its effects on our psyche and its power to bring people together. It creates a satisfying and
unifying emotional connection. A survey completed by Edison Research, a company that provides
election poll data and other important statistics for the public, revealed that an average American
listens to four hours of music a day (Peoples). When your car turns on so does the radio, and the
average American listens to music on the way to work or school every single day. This shows exactly
how impactful music is in society. Not only does it shape us individually, but it shapes our culture as a
whole. According to Nielsen Music reports, Hip Hop is the most listened to genre of music in the
United States, followed by Rock and Pop (Chesman). This can be a very good thing or a

A Report On Phosphorous Monoxide Radical
1. Introduction
Phosphorous monoxide radical is a diatomic molecule with molecular weight of 46.9732. It exists in
cationic and anionic states. It is present in a significant quantity in earth crust. It is an integral
component of Cell protoplast and most importantly it is present in DNA. The importance of
phosphorous in Biochemical processes can be easily determined from its preparations from animal and
vegetable materials. 1 4 Hennig Brand, for the first time isolated phosphorus in its elemental state in
1669 by urine distillation. 1 4 The isolated phosphorous glowed brightly in the dark and ignited on

of the excitation of the pentoxide by UV radiation emitted as a result of the oxidation.
Petrikaln falsified the theory put forwarded by EmelĂšus and Purcell and demonstrated that P2O5 did

the band in the region 3200 3400Å was absent, only bands relating the oxygen emission were

Viewpoints On Ageism
In the past one hundred years, the human life expectancy has increased by thirty years. This trend
continues to rise (Hooyman Kiyak, 2018). As a direct result, the amount of elderly people in our
society will also rise. At first glance, this may seem like a positive growth in our society. However,
when taking a second look, you come to realize that with such a positive trend comes a negative trend:
the growth of ageism. Ageism consists of the stereotypical and discriminatory viewpoints placed upon
an individual based solely on age (Hooyman Kiyak, 2018). Stereotypes generalize large groups of

Reflection Paper On Rmsel Family
Greetings fellow RMSEL civilians, I am Dinara for those who didn t know me. And today, I would
like to talk about our little RMSEL community. Our RMSEL community is wonderful, it is full of
compassion, comfort, social acceptance, you name it. I have always dreamed of a little world with all
of these components, and here I am today in that little world; my dream has come true. But, there is
always going to be a problem in this little world that we all live in, and that problem is that we can get
sad pretty easily. That sadness can get carried off to others all around us, it becomes contagious and
dreadful, we can get all these different kinds of emotions just from this sadness. And sometimes our
little community falls apart just because of that vile, cancerous sadness. As RMSEL citizens, we have
to get rid of this sadness, we have to overcome this sadness before it is too late. When I first came to
RMSEL in 6th grade, I felt uncomfortable with my surrounding others. I didn t recognize anyone s
faces and I didn t feel welcomed. But, I didn t give up, I came to this school because I wanted to
achieve in becoming a better person. So I tried to make myself comfortable with the school s system, I
asked questions to the students on how the system is like for this school. They gave me answers, and I
became more and more aware of the school. The students told me everything, but usually in a

Choosing An Occupation Of The United States
Introduction Choosing an occupation can be based on a number of factors including personal interests,
educational attainment, or family tradition. Farming is a profession that has existed for many years in
practically every country in the world. It is required to produce commodities that are needed for
human consumption such as meats, vegetables, and animal by products like dairy and eggs. The U.S.
Census describes a farm as any establishment which produced and sold, or normally would have
produced and sold, $1,000 or more of agricultural products during the year. The Census states that
there are over 2.2 million farms in the United States. In spite of the predominance of family farms,
there is strong evidence of a trend toward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite there being over 313,000,000 people living in the United States, there are less than 1% who
claim farming as an occupation (and about 2% actually live on farms). In 2007, only 45% of farmers
claimed farming as their principal occupation and a similar number of farmers claiming some other
principal occupation. The growing population will require more people to pursue a career in farming
to meet the demand of agricultural products. Like other occupations, farming requires a level of skill
and financial capital before one can begin to start an operation. Educational Issue The majority of
farms in the U.S. are owned and operated by individuals or families with the rest being either
partnerships or corporate farms. Many farm families have formed modest sized corporations to take
advantage of legal and accounting benefits of that type of business enterprise. One reason for this
business organization is that farm production expenses average $109,359 per year per farm. The high
operating expenses of a farm make it very difficult to produce enough income to meet living expenses.
In fact, less than 1 in 4 of the farms in this country produce gross revenues in excess of $50,000. Much
like the manufacturing field, the U.S. farm population has declined and the average age of farmers
continues to rise. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about sixty percent of the farmers in the

Recrystallization Of Organic Chemistry Lab Report

Experiment 4: Recrystallization of Pure Phthalic Acid, Benzoic Acid and Naphthalene
Introduction Section
Recrystallization is a technique frequently used in organic chemistry to purify solid organic
compounds. The goal of this technique is to allow organic compounds to form crystal lattice
structures, and to remove any of the impurities that do not align within this crystal structure.1 The
theory behind recrystallization revolves around entropy; as heat will cause a organic compound to
dissolve (increase in entropy), a decrease in heat will then allow that organic compound to reform
(decrease in entropy) and become purer.2
The recrystallization technique utilizes the ability of a compound to dissolve within a hot solvent and
produce a solution. As this solution cools, the solute reforms without impurities in a crystal lattice
structure.1 For this to work properly, an appropriate solution that will not dissolve the solute at low
temperatures, but will at high temperatures, must be used.1 There is no single solvent that will work
well for every solute s recrystallization; different solvents are better suited for some solutes than
others.2 Some impurities that do not dissolve within the solvent can be filtered out while the solution
is still hot, while other impurities that readily dissolve within the solvent shouldn t recrystallize with
the pure substance (as they are not concentrated enough to

Pretty Little Liars Narrative
I saved the highlight of my life for last. October 11th 2015 was the best day of my entire existence.
However before we get to that let us begin with a little bit of a backstory to why this day was amazing.
Ninety nine point nine percent of the general public knows that I have an unhealthy obsession with
Pretty Little Liars like I am crazy when it comes to this T.V. show. On my birthday my stepdad and
mother had gotten Ciarra and I tickets to this event called PaleyFest, which was a live questions and

came out so whatever. After what felt like years of waiting the cast finally came out and again I was

Tiennon And The Industrial Revolution
If the book could be summarized in a few sentences the following quote would suffice, As to farming
matters, I was certainly not one of those who like to throw themselves into novelties and expenses
without knowing what the result might be; but when I was convinced of the superiority of a tool I
adopted it without delay. This quote not only summarizes the book and the lifestyle of this era, but is
also an eye opener of the great differences between the past and present. Tiennon, the main character
of the novel speaks volumes of the conservative, but altogether practical attitude during this timeframe
for all the town folk. From 1823 to the turn of the 20th century, Tiennon s life period, and beyond the

changes we have seen in the course of our lives, of all the greater comfort that we have now. So now,
it is the historian s job to properly note and explain these changes to the common man: It was their

Write An Essay On Bioethanol From Ethanol To Brazil
Ethanol, also called ethyl alcohol or drinking alcohol, is an organic compound belonging to the
alcohol group. It could also be abbreviated EtOH. The hydroxyl, OH, functional group differentiates
the compound from the other organic compounds and hence shares some of the same physical and
chemical properties, with other alcohols. Ethanol is used as fuel, solvents and in alcoholic beverages.
It is also used as antiseptics, household cleaning products, varnishes and in alcohol thermometers
(Garcia). The molecular formula of ethanol is C2H6O, normally written as C2H5OH or CH3CH2OH.
The molar mass, boiling point and melting point of ethanol is 46.069g/mol, 78.29ÂșC and 114.14ÂșC,

How Music Has A Influence On Physical Aspect Of Sexual...
Music has a huge influence on physical aspect of a sexual relationship, as well as the emotional part of
relationships. Music speaks to the mind, body and soul and many singers take advantage of this
influence to express their views on sex and relationships. Song lyrics often have implicit meanings
and literary references. One song in particular called Stimulated, by the rapper Tyga; real name
Michael Ray Nguyen Stevenson portrays the physical aspect of a sexual relationship. In his song
Stimulated, Tyga sings about having sex with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner before she turns eighteen.
The lyrics include They say she young, I should ve waited/She a big girl, dawg, when she stimulated.
These lyrics imply a coarse, vulgar, sparsely disguised metaphor for having sex. The hidden message
in these lyrics is that if the underage girl is stimulated, then it is okay to have intercourse with her.
Furthermore, Tyga is violating the age of consent openly while at the same time indirectly admitting
statutory rape. These lyrics are clearly encouraging the sexual battery of statutory rape and blurring
the age of consent for sex. The lyrics are hypothetically influencing the thoughts and behaviors in a
way that it is lessening the importance of statutory rape. Encouraging the listener to take the age of
consent and the offence of statutory rape lightly. Switching gears onto the emotional component of
relationships, the singer Britney Spears promotes the idea of dating a bad boy

Effects Of The New Deal On African Americans
1. Discuss how the New Deal both assisted and discriminated against blacks and the effects that this

In 1933 Franklin D. Roosevelt promise of the New Deal goal was to provide all Americans with
security and bolster the American economy, with the intention to assist the under privileged. There
was many inequities in the New Deal housing, agricultural and economic programs; blacks had
opportunities to obtain employment, some in areas previously closed to them. The Agricultural
Adjustment Act of 1933 was one of the laws that was passed to assist farmers by cutting production
and forcing up food prices. But instead it left many poor Black sharecroppers out of work and caused
black consumers to pay higher food prices. The New Deal program eventually made it harder to hire
individuals at a minimum wage if they lacked skills. As the result many Blacks in the South and North

Essay on A Taste of Honey by Shelagh Delaney
In writing A Taste of Honey, what impact did Shelagh Delaney hope to have upon her audience? What
techniques did she use to achieve these aims? Shelagh Delaney wrote A Taste of Honey in 1958 when
she was only 18.
A Taste of Honey is a story about the relationship between a girl and her mother. The mother, Helen,
who is a semi whore, leaves her daughter, Jo, to get married to Peter. Jo has a relationship with a sailor
and gets pregnant. The sailor then leaves for duty. Jo meets

This was not how the working classes lived and Shelagh
Delaney outlined this very clearly in A Taste of Honey .
Although the characters live in a world where they are treated differently because of their class, race
and sexuality, they still enjoy life. Shelagh Delaney represents this and puts forward ideas without
prejudice.
From this play we can see that Shelagh Delaney wanted to change theatrical productions to represent
the working classes rather than the upper classes. In many previous productions the working classes
had been represented as gloomy and bad tempered. She was not afraid to try new ideas, bringing a
completely new angle to theatrical productions. The audience were now seeing plays about real people
living in a real world, not ideal families living in perfect situations. The audience would have been
shocked by the reality factor of this play.
Presenting the working classes in a play had been a problem to many previous playwrights. They had
wanted to include them in their plays but had wanted to miss out the reality factor. Shelagh Delaney
was not frightened to show this side of life and has overcome the problem by showing the working
classes as they really are. She achieves this by presenting the characters as down to earth and creates
an environment which is basic and slightly crude.

The Importance Of Visual Ethnography
The Importance of Visual Ethnography Reading an ethnographic research paper can allow us to
imagine and perceive cultures in a certain perspective that is the author s point of view. Ethnography
is a process of representing knowledge of human lives by collecting data to experience, interpret and
represent human cultures according to the researcher s view. However, this representation of data is
predetermined by the author and is therefore subjective in a way, as people s emotions are analyzed
according to the author s perspective. Moreover, there are certain aspects of their living style that
cannot be expressed in words such as their cultural ceremonies, describing sounds and arousing
certain feelings. There are ways to overcome this limitation of expression that is to include the use of
photography, audio recordings, filmography and performing a play. This visual representation of data
allows us to feel emotionally connected to the culture as we interpret it from our own perspective, but
this depends on the way the data is recorded. Humans consume the world visually, and photography is
a visual representation of the world. Photographs allow the informant to observe and analyze the
photo in their own perception. Visual images are not just the means of data collection or illustration of
text but as a medium through which new knowledge and critiques may be created (Chaplin qtd. in
Pink, 13). Sometimes it is difficult to describe certain objects or the surrounding in

Henry David Thoreau Summary
Thoreau from the beginning, showed how tight he was with his money and how much he valued what
he had even if it wasn t much. Throughout this paper he tells of his work he finds, the money he
makes and how wisely he spends it. He often thought that men who worked in the labor industry were
making a mistake, that they worked endlessly for so long they were basically machines. Henry reaches
out to his readers and lets them know that no matter how poor they start out that there s always a light
at the end of the tunnel as long as you re willing to work hard and spend your money wisely.
Thoreau believed that public opinion was weak compared to or own private opinion. Also, that what a
man thinks of himself determined their own fate, and that one generation after the next abandons what
s been learned from the hard working generation before. He started out doing simple outdoor work
like helping with snow storms, rain storms, watering of plants, all while minding his own business.
Thoreau made a decent allowance with these jobs but he sought out something more stating However,
I have not set my heart on that. Henry David Thoreau, Economy, 11.
Henry then began observing his fellow community on their work ethic and their techniques and

either and to invest in the native products there and face as few obstacles as possible to achieve the
maximum accomplishments. He believed acquiring

The Australian Work Health And Safety Strategy
The Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2012 2022 identifies several priority industries.
Priority industries are identified as having a high number of injury and / or fatalities or hazardous in
nature (Safe Work Australia, 2012). The foundation of risk management is to prevent incidents from
occurring. Accident causation theory are models or tools that are used to assist in investigating
incidents in order to prevent recurrence (Boyle, 2012). The construction industry has been identified
as a priority industry for Australia (Safe Work Australia, 2012) and will be the focus of the review.
The development of an incident reporting template will be supported by causation models identified as
relevant to the construction industry. This template will be designed for a medium sized organisation
defined as having 21 99 workers. This study starts by performing a review and literature critic of
accident causation theories and models. This review highlights the two most relevant causation
theories to the construction industry as Reason s Swiss cheese model and System dynamics model for
the causation of unsafe behaviours (SD CUB). Both models are discussed in more detail with a
comparison of model strengths and weaknesses. From the comparison an incident reporting template
is developed. Finally it is argued that a systematic robust model should be applied that can manage the
variables in the changing work environment of the construction industry and concludes risk

The Physics of Turbo Chargers Essay
Do you want your car to pick up speed faster? How about adding a turbo booster on that engine under
your automobiles hood. A turbo charger is a very efficient way to gain power. To fully understand the
function of this component, lets look at the physics behind it. The Ideal Gas model has much to do in
turbo chargers. I will explain the theory and components like the compressor, turbine, intercooler,
wastegate, and the BOV.
Matter is assumed to be composed of an enormous number of very tiny particles which are
indestructible. Gas is a state of matter. These tiny particles are separated by relatively large distances,
which interact elastically. This large space between the particles make it easy to compress a gas.
Which gives low mass to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A turbine is placed in the path of the exhaust gases which are exiting the engine. These gases are
caught in the turbine causing it to spin. This spins a shaft along with another pinwheel called the
compressor, which is placed in the intake air s path. This compresses the air on its way into the engine.
Normal aspirated engines work to draw in their intake air. As the intake valve opens, the piston s
downward movement creates a vacuum which sucks in some air through the intake system. After the
work performed by the expansion of the gas in a small space, where the high pressure creates a push
against the piston, most of the heat or energy is dumped into the exhaust. This heated air is not in the
cylinder long enough to convert all the heat into mechanical energy.
We need to get some use out of this other wise wasted energy. What we really want is more power,
and for this unfortunately the engine needs to burn more fuel. The turbine fed by the exhaust gases
connects to a compressor that compresses intake air into the engine, which builds up pressure in the
intake manifold. Now when the intake valve opens, the compressed air is forced into the combustion
chamber. This allows more air to fill the chamber. We will need more fuel to match the amount of air
in the combustion chamber. On computerized cars, computers take care of this accordingly. What you
get is a more explosive force from combustion, and more compression, about 60 percent better

Character Analysis of Shrek and Lord Farquaad Essay example
Character Analysis of Shrek and Lord Farquaad
In traditional fairytales, ogres are man eating beasts. The prince usually rescues the princess; they
marry and live happily ever after. How do the makers of Shrek use presentational devices to reverse
this tradition, to reveal the ogre as good, and the prince as evil?
In this essay, I am going to analyse the characters of Shrek and Lord Farquaad, and write about how
filmmakers use different presentational devices to create an unusual fairytale.
In conforming fairytales there are Princes such as prince charming, but they are the only kind of
prince you are normally going to find, whereas the ogres and giants are a mixed breed, there is the

This is an attempt to frighten the villagers away. He also tries frightening them by shouting at them
fully to scare them away from his home, and attempting to slay him. The storybook characters react in
shock, frozen in horror, and it takes Shrek to tell them what to do for them to runaway. This suggests
that Shrek does not really want to hurt them, and just wants to scare them off, and have some privacy
for himself.
When Shrek tries to intimidate Donkey, he reacts by laughing at him because he doesn t see the harm
that every other person sees, You need some Tic Tacs Donkey ridicules. Donkey keeps irritating Shrek
without noticing by running in to his house with Shrek letting him, jumping up and down on his chair
and when Shrek kicks him out, peering through the window staring at Shrek. Also just generally doing
things Shrek doesn t really want him to do, e.g. invading his privacy. The mice tease Shrek by thinking
that his house is their new home, but they cannot see what he is, so they believe him to be just some
big cuddly overgrown bear. Both these suggest that Shrek isn t as frightening as he should be, if he
was all he wants, he would be shouting and crushing bones, and terrifying the unwanted guests away.
Donkey tells Shrek that he should get his swamp back by going to Lord Farquaad and pulling off
some ogre stuff , he also tells him that he is too

your tire blows. What do you do? Do you panic and call roadside assistance, or are you lucky enough

change a flat tire. It is a shame that more people do not know how to perform such a simple and useful
task. Learning this skill will help you become more independent and get you back on the road quicker.
Luckily, it is not that hard to learn. If you follow these simple steps, you will have a new tire on your
car in approximately eight to ten minutes.

Next, you will loosen the lug nuts do not take the lug nuts completely off the hub assembly and begin
to place the jack. You will need to place the jack under a secure place on your specific car. You can
find this information in the owner s manual or by calling your dealership. After you have gotten the
jack positioned correctly, you will begin to lift the car. There are two types of jacks: a hydraulic jack
and a scissor jack. If you are using a scissor jack, you will insert the rod, and then you will begin to
crank it. If you are using a hydraulic jack, you will simply pump the handle up and down with long
even strokes. After the car is lifted, you place your jack stands in a safe position and start to lower the
jack. If at any point you feel like the stands are not holding the car correctly get all body parts out
from under the car and use the jack again to readjust the stands. Now that your car is safely positioned,
you will take the lug nuts completely off the wheel and take the flat tire off. You are now halfway
done with the changing process.
The last two steps are very challenging. But do not panic, you can complete this process. Now, you
will align the spare tire with the lug bolts and place your lug nuts over the bolts. You can now take
your lug wrench and tighten the lug nuts; you need to tighten your lug nuts in a star pattern instead of
a circular pattern. This ensures the wheel will not rotate while tightening your lug nuts. This step

How Does The Greater London Area Develop
The greater London area covers an area of approximately 1620 square KM. Technically speaking the
London area is divided into cities: Westminster and the city of London itself. The greater London
metropolitan area is home to approximately 12 million people. London is a highly multicultural city,
with 50 nationalities, and more than 300 languages are spoken. The site of London itself was settled

The flow of capital, information, goods and services, and people are among the more readily measured
indicators of such links between large cities. Generally, there has been a net transfer of funds from the
worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. The decision makers directing these
flows are typically located in world cities, such as London, while these on whom the decision impacts
are often found in the old industrial centres of the developed world, where the cash is being redirected
form. This also has a major effect on those in the developing world, which is the areas to which capital
is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and high unemployment in the old manufacturing
centres of the developed world and factory openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the
developing world. There have been many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such
as London, one such attempt focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the
flows of information, knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global
services, these being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these
criteria London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC
and Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The global
hierarchy of cities is essentially a functional hierarchy ranging from 12 cities down to national
regional and local scales, with London generally considered at the centre of the hierarchy, being the
largest contributor to the global

The Call Of Cthulhu And The Color Out Of Space
In general, humans tend to belief that they are the most important creatures inhabiting the earth.
Although this may be true, when thinking about the entire universe it is questionable whether or not
humans are important at all in the grand scheme of things. The idea of cosmism is just that. This idea
is prevalent in many of H.P. Lovecraft s stories, such as The Call of Cthulhu and The Colour out of
Space. The idea of cosmism is relevant to The Call of Cthulhu because it portrays the fact that humans
and the way in which they live their lives does not matter in the grand scheme of things. The idea of
cosmism is also relevant to The Colour out of Space, because it portrays a concept which shows that
human life is so insignificant that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The creatures in this story have a few signifying features. One feature of these creatures is that they
were unknown entities. For example, From Beyond, states, Indescribable shapes both alive and
otherwise were mixed in disgusting disarray, and close to every known thing were whole worlds of
alien, unknown entities (10). The fact that these creatures are aliens, prove that they are not known to
the human world. Another feature that these creatures have is that their physical features are very
strange. For example, they are described as Foremost among the living objects were great inky,
jellyish monstrosities which flabbily quivered in harmony with the vibrations from the machine. They
were present in loathsome profusion, and I saw to my horror that they overlapped; that they were semi
fluid and capable of passing through one another and through what we know as solids. (11). Similar to
the Dagon, the creatures in this story resemble sea creatures. Also, this description shows that these
creatures have the ability to pass through solid objects. This is out of this world because nothing in
this dimension possesses the power to pass through solid objects. The creatures in this story are
entities that are not blind to the human world. According to the story, the creatures can see the
scientists just as easily as they can see them. This story

Rise Of Christianity Research Paper
Rise of Christianity
Among the many religions, Christianity is one of the world s most widely spread, it has the most
number of believers and its teachings spread all over the world, the congregation distributed in various
countries, it is certainly the world s first religion. The core of the Christian faith is Jesus, mainly after
progress of the initial of the belief in Paul and John theology, Peter s Church believes.
This huge religion, its origin and development also experienced various ups and downs. At first,
Christianity was a sect of Judaism, the Jesus of Nazareth. He was raised in Galilee, stronghold of the

Believers in his divinity met in small assemblies or congregations, often in one another s homes, to
discuss the meaning of his message. These earliest Christians defined their faith to fit the life of Jesus
into an orthodox Jewish context. Only later did these congregations evolve into what can be called a
church with a formal organization and set of beliefs. Christianity might have remained just another
sect had it not reached Rome, the capital of the Western world. Events in Rome proved to be a
dramatic step in the spread of Christianity for various reasons. First, Jesus had told his followers to
spread his word throughout the world, thus making his teachings universal. The pagan Romans also
considered their secular empire universal, and early Christians there combined these two concepts of
universalism. Secular Rome provided another advantage to Christianity. If all roads led to Rome, they
also led outward to the provinces of central and Western Europe. The very stability and extent of the
Roman Empire enabled early Christians easily to spread their faith southward to Africa and northward
into Europe and across the channel to Britain.

  • 2. Hard Times And Pride And Prejudice Essay The novels Hard Times (1854) written by Charles Dickens (1812 1870) and Pride and Prejudice (1813) written by Jane Austen (1775 1817) are two very distinct literary works, written and published in two completely different eras. While Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice in the Georgian era, Dickens s novel Hard Times is a part of the Victorian age. These novels represent disparate worlds, that of rigid and utilitarian aspects on one hand and domestic concerns over marriage and property on the other. These novels represent women in a certain light, quite different from the each other, but the same. This paper thus aims to analyse the portrayal of female characters by Dickens and Austen in the aforementioned novels, in view of their gender identities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is an opposition with which Dickens makes extended ironic play later in the story, when Sissy becomes the homemaker, the most settled and the most respectable member of the Gradgrind family. She is,at the beginning of the book, not only of questionable parentage but a virtual orphan. From this situation there develops an ironic opposition between the ties of blood and those of affectiom, for Sissy, deprived of a family by blood, is supported by the extended, unorthodox family of the circus people and she eventually becomes Gradgrind s honorary and truest daughter. Her love is undying and is not affected by his loveless teaching. Her devotion brings about family feeling in her new father and sister as when, in Louisa s grave trouble, the once deserted girl shone like a beautiful light upon the darkness of the other (Dickens, 248). Sissy becomes the motherly, sisterly and daughterly heart of the adoptive family and her very nickname signals her familial role throughout the story, as the archetypical sister. However, the reward for this depiction of virtue is confined within the family. Although Sissy grows from child to woman in years, she does not move, like most of Dickens s good women, beyond the roles of a surrogate mother, daughter and sister to sexual maturity. Initially, the book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Disaster Recovery Plan And A Business Continuity Plan Compared and contrasted business continuity plans with disaster recovery plans A disaster recovery plan and a business continuity plan, are very important to all business and their marketing plan. These plans provide detail strategies on how the business will continue to operate, before, doing and after a disaster. About 25% of business that do not have these plans and are hit by a disaster, fail to reopen. (Smith, n.d.). This is why a disaster and recovery and business continuity plan are important to a business if they wish to withstand a disaster and reopen with little or no problem. The Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) provides comprehensive strategy on the actions that employees should follow doing and after a disaster. The plan should provide exit procedures, the online communication instructions to make sure that all employees are accounted for and the main communication and rally point, with the central hub. The hub should carry emergency supplies, backup information, flashlights and other important items need for the safety of the business, employees and their customers. The Business Continuity Plan (BCP) enhances the DRP a few step further. It outlines how the business will ran and managed after the disaster. It should outline how the business should continue after a small disaster event, like a power outage to a major problem like a major storm that might last a few days. Within the outline it should there should be information as to where the business will operate, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When irreplaceable files, email addresses, pictures, videos and other personal details are seemingly lost for good, despair doesn t begin to describe the feelings involved. You might be relieved to hear there are four effective computer data recovery options available which could help restore some, if not all of your files, as noted below. 1. There are companies that specialize in computer data recovery. They have the necessary hardware and software tools required to be able to recover files that individuals will not have at home or in the office. While these services can be costly, I m sure that if your data is restored, you ll agree that the expense is worth it. Beyond regular computer professional services that specialize in data recovery, computer forensics companies might be able to help out in extreme cases (for example, computers damaged in the case of fire or flood). • 5. An Analysis Of Hans Taparia And Pamela Koch s New York... Rhetorical Analysis Essay: A Seismic Shift in How People Eat In Hans Taparia and Pamela Koch s New York Times online article A Seismic Shift in How People Eat, posted on November 6, 2015, the current struggle that big food companies are experiencing in relation to increased consumer awareness is discussed. Prompting this article is the overwhelming movement to healthy eating by the general populace and the havoc it is wreaking on corporate companies. Highly popular among health enthusiasts of all ages, the topic of this paper appeals to a wide audience. Although easily missed at first due to the beautiful flow and structure of the paper, the opinions and claims by Taparia and Koch are primarily based in logos where facts and statistics are quoted, and a fair amount of pathos where vivid imagery is utilized to paint a picture of the scenario for the reader. Differing slightly from the normal presentation, the ethos of the paper is not so much enforced through personal titles or anecdotes, but rather through the combination of presenting the ideas and facts clearly and persuasively, all adding to the author s credibility. When the paper comes to a conclusion, the reader is left with a solid understanding of how big food companies are finally being forced to share their dirty secrets and clean up their act in order to compete with the small scale, organic based companies and the jeopardy they are facing unless they change their ways drastically. • 6. Quarantine Essential Questions Essential Question #1 What does the experience of the blind in the quarantine tell us about modern government? The Experience in the quarantine is a critic on the different forms of government in the modern world. At first look there is a stark contrast between the two regimes in parts 8 11 of the novel. At first there is the doctor s regime , which is democratic but ultimately inefficient as the attendees must waste time by making decisions diplomatically. But as seen in part 8, as more and more of the members begin to lose their sight, diplomacy falls to the side. (Gradesaver.com). The doctors wife seemed so overwhelmed knowing she was the one responsible for the group because she was the one who had to go through these obstacles with them only she could visibly see what they were facing. The people in the group had to put their trust in her and I think that really weighed heavily on her shoulders knowing their lives were in her hands. The doctor s wife is also extremely happy that she can care for the blind less and less as the ward members continue to get their sight back and the fact that her and her husband will no longer have to live in the filth of the ward. I believe the wife had many moments of doubt when it came to taking care of the group because it would take a lot of responsibility for just one person. I think from this, you can get glimpses of her character and personality. From the beginning we see that she just couldn t leave her husband and wanted to stay which led to her lying to the doctors and telling them that she was indeed blind (www.psychologytoday.com). So how could we assume she would just leave the rest of the group there? Leaving them in those conditions to die would be unthinkable when there was still a glimpse of hope out there. The doctor s wife feels as if since she has been given this gift (or arguably, burden) of immunity to the sickness, she should take this as an advantage into helping others who can t help ... • 7. Criminal Behavior And Strict Liability When studying criminal behavior and strict liability, exploring the possible causations that may contribute to criminal behavior is important. Examining family backgrounds, genetic make ups and parenting are some factors that influence criminal behavior. Understand the possible risk factors of criminal behavior helps us to better understand why people commit crimes. This paper will attempt to critically analyze two articles on the concept of criminal behavior and law as it pertains to strict liability. Criminal Conduct In the early 1960 s the movement of the Model Penal Code transformed American criminal law by the American Law Institute. The MPC seek to bring analytical clarity to the definition and interpretation of criminal statutes that were encrusted with ill defined law terms such as malice aforethought (Brown, 2012, p. 287). Criminal conduct can be defined as conduct of an offender that leads to and including a commission of an unlawful act (USLEGAL, n.d.) A recent current event that is a prime example of criminal behavior or criminal conduct is the tragedy that occurred at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. A former disgruntled employee, Vester Lee Flanagan aka Bryce Williams opened fire on WDBJ news reporter Alison Parker, camera man Adam Ward and chamber of commerce executive woman Vicki Gardner during a live morning broadcast. The Role Of Evolution In A Combat Environment The need to evolve in a combat environment is not a new concept and seems that as technology advances, the need to race to the forefront becomes ever more critical. Over the past few decades to include every day of the United States combat operations in Afghanistan, the 160TH Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR)has met the needs of the warfighter and also been brutally made aware of the need to evolve people, equipment and tactics. Tcheltchew was born in 1898 and was raised in Moscow until the Russian Revolution forced his family to flee. He had various jobs working for local theatres building stage sets while he also worked on his paintings. In the 1920 s he changed the focus of his art to one of using multiple images which sought to reveal both the organic substructure of an object as well as its place in space and time. An example is the vein in one child s face that has a faint dandelion that served as a pedestal for another child. This kind of imagery is understandable because of the time period in which it was painted, during World War II. The design in this painting is a consummate statement of figure ground, which is the situation where an image on one side of its boundary can be reversed to become the background of a different image on the other side of the boundary. On The Waterfront, by Elia Kazan Essay For a near championship boxer to fall from the limelight after a defeat is fairly common, but to lose due to his own brother betting against him is unheard of. Elia Kazan s On the Waterfront portrays the role of this former fighter living his life as a bum under a local mob boss. This movie stands out from how movies are portrayed today. It didn t have a lot of fast chase scenes, immense battles, or over the top special effects. This movie focused on its characters, by portraying their reactions to the cumbersome niche they play on the dockyard. He brings a strong sense of justice and righteous action to a community otherwise broken and accepting of their roles as thralls. The conflicts fueling this story are also provided by a livid cast of characters and a dark story to be told. Development of both characters and story can be hard to draw a fine line on, but On the Waterfront walks that line like an acrobat. There was a strong emphasis on getting the viewer to feel what the main characters were feeling. As Father Barry gave his crucifixion speech, the emotions and reactions portrayed by the father and his onlookers simply added to the powerful statements he was preaching. The dockworkers with no connections in the mob knew he spoke the truth, and yet their faces showed that they were too afraid to even mention working conditions or recent killings committed by the mob. He was known of his time to have a great physique, and it drew many admirers. Today, the bodybuilding industry is as big as ever as more people are interested in achieving their ideal physique. The image of bodybuilders is still viewed negatively by the public. Fictional accounts of bodybuilders, endured by writers who did not experience the lifestyle, is a moral transgression. It is a moral transgression to write fictional accounts on bodybuilding because it is a form of art. It is an art in which the artists (bodybuilders) present their physique as the artwork. It was after stumbling across this statement that I was influenced to call up my friend and suggest a road trip. When we started off, it was a beautiful day. The bright morning sun peeked over the Appalachian mountains to bid us farewell as we packed our belongings into the 2011 Chevy Cruze. Dew still perched on the delicate leaves of various summer flowers while we rode down the road towards Tennessee. My friend Sarah drove. Her fingers tapped the steering wheel in rhythm to the Carrie Underwood song blaring from the radio. It was the radio s job to keep us awake since we had left so early in the morning; however, it was not doing a good job as I fell asleep only twenty minutes into the ride. Sarah had to wake me up at the rest stop just outside of Roanoke, Virginia. Hey, Allyson, she called as she shook my shoulders, it would be nice if you woke up, so I could take a nap. I just mumbled an incoherent string of words in response. I can just drive right back to Pennsylvania. We don t have to take a road trip. That got me up. I had so much invested into this trip like money and time. I sat in the driver s seat and watched the road continuously channel under the car sort of like a conveyor belt. • 18. Music Influence On Music And Culture Imagine going through the whole day without music. No radio, no Apple Music, no Spotify; nothing. Most people fail to realize it, but music is a tremendous part of our everyday lives. But what makes music so appealing to the human race? Why do we depend on music to get us through the day or to relax us at night? Most people say they listen to music just because they like the way it sounds or they like the artist that sings the song, but there are much deeper psychological reasons why people turn on the radio in the car or plug in their ear buds at work. Music provides a means of escape, and it helps our overall outlook on life and the world we live in (SchĂ€fer). Music is crucial to society and culture due to its effects on our psyche and its power to bring people together. It creates a satisfying and unifying emotional connection. A survey completed by Edison Research, a company that provides election poll data and other important statistics for the public, revealed that an average American listens to four hours of music a day (Peoples). When your car turns on so does the radio, and the average American listens to music on the way to work or school every single day. This shows exactly how impactful music is in society. Not only does it shape us individually, but it shapes our culture as a whole. According to Nielsen Music reports, Hip Hop is the most listened to genre of music in the United States, followed by Rock and Pop (Chesman). This can be a very good thing or a ... • 19. A Report On Phosphorous Monoxide Radical 1. Introduction Phosphorous monoxide radical is a diatomic molecule with molecular weight of 46.9732. It exists in cationic and anionic states. It is present in a significant quantity in earth crust. It is an integral component of Cell protoplast and most importantly it is present in DNA. The importance of phosphorous in Biochemical processes can be easily determined from its preparations from animal and vegetable materials. 1 4 Hennig Brand, for the first time isolated phosphorus in its elemental state in 1669 by urine distillation. 1 4 The isolated phosphorous glowed brightly in the dark and ignited on exposure to air. Petrikaln falsified the theory put forwarded by EmelĂšus and Purcell and demonstrated that P2O5 did not absorb in the UV region in its highly purified form. The visible emission observed by EmelĂšus and Purcell was because of sample impurity.8,9,10 He then demonstrated the excitement of highly purified P2O5 vapour using discharges caused by external or internal electrodes, in that it was observed that the band in the region 3200 3400Å was absent, only bands relating the oxygen emission were observed.9,10 When Petrikaln excited P2O3 in a Geissler tube, two series of bands were emitted in the UV region, one above 31000 Å , the other from 2360 to 2640 Å .10The line positions of the were calculated with an accuracy of 0.1 Å and analysed, which lead to ʋ0= 1378 and 1221 cm 1 for the vibrational frequencies of the excited and ground electronic state species respectively. • 20. Viewpoints On Ageism In the past one hundred years, the human life expectancy has increased by thirty years. This trend continues to rise (Hooyman Kiyak, 2018). As a direct result, the amount of elderly people in our society will also rise. At first glance, this may seem like a positive growth in our society. However, when taking a second look, you come to realize that with such a positive trend comes a negative trend: the growth of ageism. Ageism consists of the stereotypical and discriminatory viewpoints placed upon an individual based solely on age (Hooyman Kiyak, 2018). Stereotypes generalize large groups of people primarily on the behaviors or appearances of just a small percentage of people within that group (Cambridge, 2017). Discrimination is the act of treating someone unfairly based upon certain personal attributes (Cambridge, 2017). Our RMSEL community is wonderful, it is full of compassion, comfort, social acceptance, you name it. I have always dreamed of a little world with all of these components, and here I am today in that little world; my dream has come true. But, there is always going to be a problem in this little world that we all live in, and that problem is that we can get sad pretty easily. That sadness can get carried off to others all around us, it becomes contagious and dreadful, we can get all these different kinds of emotions just from this sadness. And sometimes our little community falls apart just because of that vile, cancerous sadness. As RMSEL citizens, we have to get rid of this sadness, we have to overcome this sadness before it is too late. When I first came to RMSEL in 6th grade, I felt uncomfortable with my surrounding others. I didn t recognize anyone s faces and I didn t feel welcomed. Farming is a profession that has existed for many years in practically every country in the world. It is required to produce commodities that are needed for human consumption such as meats, vegetables, and animal by products like dairy and eggs. The U.S. Census describes a farm as any establishment which produced and sold, or normally would have produced and sold, $1,000 or more of agricultural products during the year. The growing population will require more people to pursue a career in farming to meet the demand of agricultural products. Like other occupations, farming requires a level of skill and financial capital before one can begin to start an operation. Educational Issue The majority of farms in the U.S. are owned and operated by individuals or families with the rest being either partnerships or corporate farms. Many farm families have formed modest sized corporations to take advantage of legal and accounting benefits of that type of business enterprise. One reason for this business organization is that farm production expenses average $109,359 per year per farm. The high operating expenses of a farm make it very difficult to produce enough income to meet living expenses. In fact, less than 1 in 4 of the farms in this country produce gross revenues in excess of $50,000. Much like the manufacturing field, the U.S. farm population has declined and the average age of farmers continues to rise. Recrystallization Of Organic Chemistry Lab Report Veneta Dinova CHM 2210 L Section: 006 Lab Partner: Jake Bodway TA: Benjamin Pollard Experiment 4: Recrystallization of Pure Phthalic Acid, Benzoic Acid and Naphthalene Introduction Section Recrystallization is a technique frequently used in organic chemistry to purify solid organic compounds. The goal of this technique is to allow organic compounds to form crystal lattice structures, and to remove any of the impurities that do not align within this crystal structure.1 The theory behind recrystallization revolves around entropy; as heat will cause a organic compound to dissolve (increase in entropy), a decrease in heat will then allow that organic compound to reform (decrease in entropy) and become purer.2 The recrystallization technique utilizes the ability of a compound to dissolve within a hot solvent and produce a solution. As this solution cools, the solute reforms without impurities in a crystal lattice structure.1 For this to work properly, an appropriate solution that will not dissolve the solute at low temperatures, but will at high temperatures, must be used.1 There is no single solvent that will work well for every solute s recrystallization; different solvents are better suited for some solutes than others.2 Some impurities that do not dissolve within the solvent can be filtered out while the solution is still hot, while other impurities that readily dissolve within the solvent shouldn t recrystallize with the pure substance (as they are not concentrated enough to ... Music speaks to the mind, body and soul and many singers take advantage of this influence to express their views on sex and relationships. Song lyrics often have implicit meanings and literary references. One song in particular called Stimulated, by the rapper Tyga; real name Michael Ray Nguyen Stevenson portrays the physical aspect of a sexual relationship. The hidden message in these lyrics is that if the underage girl is stimulated, then it is okay to have intercourse with her. Furthermore, Tyga is violating the age of consent openly while at the same time indirectly admitting statutory rape. These lyrics are clearly encouraging the sexual battery of statutory rape and blurring the age of consent for sex. The lyrics are hypothetically influencing the thoughts and behaviors in a way that it is lessening the importance of statutory rape. The Importance Of Visual Ethnography The Importance of Visual Ethnography Reading an ethnographic research paper can allow us to imagine and perceive cultures in a certain perspective that is the author s point of view. Ethnography is a process of representing knowledge of human lives by collecting data to experience, interpret and represent human cultures according to the researcher s view. However, this representation of data is predetermined by the author and is therefore subjective in a way, as people s emotions are analyzed according to the author s perspective. Moreover, there are certain aspects of their living style that cannot be expressed in words such as their cultural ceremonies, describing sounds and arousing certain feelings. There are ways to overcome this limitation of expression that is to include the use of photography, audio recordings, filmography and performing a play. This visual representation of data allows us to feel emotionally connected to the culture as we interpret it from our own perspective, but this depends on the way the data is recorded. Humans consume the world visually, and photography is a visual representation of the world. Photographs allow the informant to observe and analyze the photo in their own perception. • 40. Henry David Thoreau Summary Thoreau from the beginning, showed how tight he was with his money and how much he valued what he had even if it wasn t much. Throughout this paper he tells of his work he finds, the money he makes and how wisely he spends it. He often thought that men who worked in the labor industry were making a mistake, that they worked endlessly for so long they were basically machines. Henry reaches out to his readers and lets them know that no matter how poor they start out that there s always a light at the end of the tunnel as long as you re willing to work hard and spend your money wisely. Thoreau believed that public opinion was weak compared to or own private opinion. Also, that what a man thinks of himself determined their own fate, and that one generation after the next abandons what s been learned from the hard working generation before. He started out doing simple outdoor work like helping with snow storms, rain storms, watering of plants, all while minding his own business. Thoreau made a decent allowance with these jobs but he sought out something more stating However, I have not set my heart on that. Henry David Thoreau, Economy, 11. Henry then began observing his fellow community on their work ethic and their techniques and decided he needed to start a business himself. His plan was to not live cheaply but not expensively either and to invest in the native products there and face as few obstacles as possible to achieve the maximum accomplishments. • 41. The Australian Work Health And Safety Strategy The Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2012 2022 identifies several priority industries. Priority industries are identified as having a high number of injury and / or fatalities or hazardous in nature (Safe Work Australia, 2012). The foundation of risk management is to prevent incidents from occurring. Accident causation theory are models or tools that are used to assist in investigating incidents in order to prevent recurrence (Boyle, 2012). The construction industry has been identified as a priority industry for Australia (Safe Work Australia, 2012) and will be the focus of the review. The development of an incident reporting template will be supported by causation models identified as relevant to the construction industry. This template will be designed for a medium sized organisation defined as having 21 99 workers. This study starts by performing a review and literature critic of accident causation theories and models. This review highlights the two most relevant causation theories to the construction industry as Reason s Swiss cheese model and System dynamics model for the causation of unsafe behaviours (SD CUB). Both models are discussed in more detail with a comparison of model strengths and weaknesses. From the comparison an incident reporting template is developed. Finally it is argued that a systematic robust model should be applied that can manage the variables in the changing work environment of the construction industry and concludes risk ... • 42. The Physics of Turbo Chargers Essay Do you want your car to pick up speed faster? How about adding a turbo booster on that engine under your automobiles hood. A turbo charger is a very efficient way to gain power. To fully understand the function of this component, lets look at the physics behind it. The Ideal Gas model has much to do in turbo chargers. I will explain the theory and components like the compressor, turbine, intercooler, wastegate, and the BOV. Matter is assumed to be composed of an enormous number of very tiny particles which are indestructible. Gas is a state of matter. These tiny particles are separated by relatively large distances, which interact elastically. This large space between the particles make it easy to compress a gas. Which gives low mass to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A turbine is placed in the path of the exhaust gases which are exiting the engine. These gases are caught in the turbine causing it to spin. This spins a shaft along with another pinwheel called the compressor, which is placed in the intake air s path. This compresses the air on its way into the engine. Normal aspirated engines work to draw in their intake air. As the intake valve opens, the piston s downward movement creates a vacuum which sucks in some air through the intake system. After the work performed by the expansion of the gas in a small space, where the high pressure creates a push against the piston, most of the heat or energy is dumped into the exhaust. This heated air is not in the cylinder long enough to convert all the heat into mechanical energy. We need to get some use out of this other wise wasted energy. What we really want is more power, and for this unfortunately the engine needs to burn more fuel. The turbine fed by the exhaust gases connects to a compressor that compresses intake air into the engine, which builds up pressure in the intake manifold. Now when the intake valve opens, the compressed air is forced into the combustion chamber. This allows more air to fill the chamber. We will need more fuel to match the amount of air in the combustion chamber. On computerized cars, computers take care of this accordingly. What you get is a more explosive force from combustion, and more compression, about 60 percent better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The prince usually rescues the princess; they marry and live happily ever after. How do the makers of Shrek use presentational devices to reverse this tradition, to reveal the ogre as good, and the prince as evil? In this essay, I am going to analyse the characters of Shrek and Lord Farquaad, and write about how filmmakers use different presentational devices to create an unusual fairytale. There are two types of jacks: a hydraulic jack and a scissor jack. If you are using a scissor jack, you will insert the rod, and then you will begin to crank it. If you are using a hydraulic jack, you will simply pump the handle up and down with long even strokes. After the car is lifted, you place your jack stands in a safe position and start to lower the jack. If at any point you feel like the stands are not holding the car correctly get all body parts out from under the car and use the jack again to readjust the stands. Now that your car is safely positioned, you will take the lug nuts completely off the wheel and take the flat tire off. You are now halfway done with the changing process. Generally, there has been a net transfer of funds from the worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. This also has a major effect on those in the developing world, which is the areas to which capital is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and high unemployment in the old manufacturing centres of the developed world and factory openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the developing world. There have been many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such as London, one such attempt focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the flows of information, knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global services, these being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these criteria London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC and Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. Although this may be true, when thinking about the entire universe it is questionable whether or not humans are important at all in the grand scheme of things. The idea of cosmism is just that. This idea is prevalent in many of H.P. Lovecraft s stories, such as The Call of Cthulhu and The Colour out of Space. The idea of cosmism is relevant to The Call of Cthulhu because it portrays the fact that humans and the way in which they live their lives does not matter in the grand scheme of things. The fact that these creatures are aliens, prove that they are not known to the human world. Another feature that these creatures have is that their physical features are very strange. For example, they are described as Foremost among the living objects were great inky, jellyish monstrosities which flabbily quivered in harmony with the vibrations from the machine. They were present in loathsome profusion, and I saw to my horror that they overlapped; that they were semi fluid and capable of passing through one another and through what we know as solids. (11). Similar to the Dagon, the creatures in this story resemble sea creatures. Also, this description shows that these creatures have the ability to pass through solid objects. This is out of this world because nothing in this dimension possesses the power to pass through solid objects. The creatures in this story are entities that are not blind to the human world. Christianity might have remained just another sect had it not reached Rome, the capital of the Western world. Events in Rome proved to be a dramatic step in the spread of Christianity for various reasons. First, Jesus had told his followers to spread his word throughout the world, thus making his teachings universal. The pagan Romans also considered their secular empire universal, and early Christians there combined these two concepts of universalism. Secular Rome provided another advantage to Christianity.
