Save The World Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of saving the world is a daunting task that encompasses a
myriad of challenges. At its core, the topic is both broad and complex, demanding a deep
understanding of global issues, environmental science, social dynamics, and political landscapes.
To encapsulate the urgency and significance of saving the world, one must navigate through a
vast sea of information, extracting relevant data while avoiding the pitfalls of misinformation.
The difficulty intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between providing comprehensive
coverage and maintaining focus. The interconnected nature of global challenges makes it
challenging to address each aspect without succumbing to tangential discussions. Moreover, the
task involves grappling with the emotional weight of the subject matter – the impending
environmental crises, social injustices, and the pressing need for collective action.
Creating a cohesive narrative that resonates with readers is another hurdle. The essay must
transcend the technical jargon and statistics, engaging the audience on a personal and emotional
level. Striking this delicate balance requires a keen understanding of the target audience, ensuring
that the message is accessible to both experts and those less versed in the intricacies of the issues
at hand.
Furthermore, the call to action embedded in a "Save The World" essay necessitates careful
consideration. Crafting a compelling argument for individual and collective responsibility
demands not only persuasive writing skills but also a nuanced understanding of human behavior
and societal dynamics. It's a delicate dance between motivation and avoidance of overwhelming
the reader.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the imperative task of saving the world involves a
complex interplay of research, emotional intelligence, and persuasive communication. Navigating
through the intricacies of global issues while maintaining a coherent and engaging narrative is no
small feat. However, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that HelpWriting.net offers
a platform where similar essays, and much more, can be expertly crafted to meet your specific
needs.

The Great Pyramids Of Giza
The Great Pyramids of Giza

Egypt:
This research is on the Ancient Egyptian Culture. Ancient Egypt was located in
Northeastern Africa along the Nile River. Egypt was divided into Upper and Lower
Egypt from 5000 to 2950 BC; the unification of Egypt was around 3000 BC. Ancient
Egypt was around until about 50 BC. The Egyptians are known for many
accomplishments; they include: their complex irrigation system, hieroglyphics, and
the practice of medicine, the calendar, their art, and the construction of the pyramids.
The pyramids were built as monuments to honor the dead. There are many mysteries
concerning the construction of the pyramids. This research will be directed towards
the Great Pyramids at Giza. The pyramids are a very interesting subject matter
because they are gigantic structures that were constructed by only the minds of early
architects and the hands of many workers. This research will cover the ideas of how
these Great Pyramids were constructed.
The Age of the Pyramids:
The ancient Egyptian people were very religious. Their religion was very important
to them; they worshiped their gods, and they glorified them. Their kings or
pharaohs were also believed to be gods. The burial of their kings was a very
important aspect for Egyptian life, and their belief in afterlife. This belief led to the
construction of elaborate funerary architecture. These royal tomb structures were first
known as mastabas,
The Influence Of Reality Television
Reality Television Educates Television has had an impact on our lives, bringing
new information that we probably haven t heard of before. It informs the viewers of
lives of people who struggle with themselves and shows the viewers how to solve
them. Reality helps more people than does harm because it educates on certain people
s lives that need some educating on. These shows are improving young audiences
knowledge by spreading positive messages through blunt situations. For families, the
most viewed type of televisionis reality TV. The straight forward situations in the
lives of the stars show a perspective that presents a problem which is then solved by
the end of the episode. When people complain that there are fewer good tv shows
for families to watch together, it s often assumed that TV has become more vulgar
and adult... TV has become more various and fragmented, it s become more
specific (James Poniewozik). Television has a certain group they want to target and
that has a message spreading positive awareness. Reality TV teaches the younger
viewers on how to handle life situations and the life of others that they might not
know about. These messages inspire the other party positively and develops more
knowledge for the younger people. The spark of confidence in the younger crowd is
mainly from reality TV. Girls who watch reality tv ... thinking of themselves as
mature, a good influence, out going, funny and smart. More aspired to leadership

Hyperactive-Impulsive Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD is a disorder that can cause one to have a very short attention span. It also
leads you to be a very hyperactive person, which can make one appear overjoyed
and energetic about life. ADHD is found in young children and adults and varies
from person to person. This disorder has many levels. For example, you could be in
school working on an assignment and notice a friend playing with his/her pencil so
you get their attentionand tell them to do their work only to look back a few
minutes later and see him/her digging in their bag unfocused. This doesn t represent
anything bad ,it is a neurological disorder that cannot be controlled and the person
has a hard time staying focused for long periods of times. People affected by this

Agree on a time that works for both you and your child s teacher and stick to it.
Avoid cancelling. If it is convenient, meet in your child s classroom so you can get a
sense of your child s physical learning environment.
Create goals together. Discuss your hopes for your child s school success. Together,
write down specific and realistic goals and talk about how they can be reached.
Listen carefully. Like you, your child s teacher wants to see your child succeed at
school. Listen to what he or she has to say even if it is sometimes hard to hear. Avoid
interrupting. Understanding your child s challenges in school is the key to finding
solutions that work.
Share information. You know your child s history, and your child s teacher sees him
or her every day: together you have a lot of information that can lead to a better
understanding of your child s hardships. Share your observations freely, and
encourage your child s teachers to do the same.
Communication can only work effectively if it is honest. Be sure to list any
medications your child takes and explain any other treatments. Share with your

Semiotic Analysis Of An Advertisement
Introduction Semiotics refers to the study of signs in culture, symbols and their use
or interpretation. The following semiotic analysis of the advertisement for Frank
Rippingille s patent cooking stoves and an image of the Summer at the Cape of
Good Hope Afternoon tea on the stoep by Renhardt, which proceeds by a description
of the denotative meaning of the image and the advertisement and then followed by
the interpretation of the connotative meaning by drawing on knowledge of the
Victorian values (Walvin 1987). Semiotic analysis1: Summer at the Cape of Good

These stoves were a product of the empire as they were manufactured in
Birmingham in the 1880 s (Oil cooking stoves[Sa]). By using these stoves it
actually shows support to the empire and hence national pride (Walvin 1987). The
woman who is handing out the stoves is Queen Victoria because of the crown on
her head and the lion on her chair and lion represent royalty (Symbolic meaning of
lions[Sa]). She was the Queen of Britain from 1837 to 1901 which was the second
largest reign in the British monarch. The people who come from different cultures
represent the different nations and this is justified by the text which states
Englands gift a blessing to all nations Queen Victoria represents England and the
gift is the stove. The smile on the man who is carrying a board while looking at
Queen Victoria while she is handing out stoves shows that he is happy and he has a
cheerful character. The black man who is receiving the stove is on his knees which
expresses gratitude and shows good manners and respect to Queen Victoria, which is

Essay on Themes in the Tempest
Themes in the Tempest
The Tempest is generally considered to be Shakespeare s last sole authored play.
The play draws a number of oppositions, some of which it dramatises, and some of
which it only implies. Prospero, a figure exhibiting many resemblances to the
Elizabethan idea of the Mage , (of whom the best known is probably Dr. John Dee),
is opposed to both his corrupt brother, usurper of his role as Duke of Milan, and to
Sycorax, an evil witch and mother of the deformed slave Caliban. Sycorax does not
enter the action of the play, having died before it opens, but enough is made of her
evil disposition and behaviour to show Prospero as a model of human virtue in
comparison. This despite Prospero s own use of magic to ... Show more content on

The Tempest is involved in a discussion of nobility, seen here as a matter of
inheritance, but in the opposition of Prospero and his brother Antonio we see that
inheritance has two sides. Antonio betrayed Prospero and stole his inheritance
(materially; his Dukedom), so virtue, nobility , is not entirely a matter of having
noble parentage.
A further denotation of nobility, in line with fashionable Neo Platonism is that the
beautiful are good, and the ugly, wicked. This is explicit in Miranda s case, both in
herself and in the attitudes she expresses:
There s nothing ill can dwell in such a temple:
If the ill spirit have so fair a house
Good things will strive to dwell with t. (1:2:460 462)
Caliban, on the other hand, is deformed , and described as a fish and a monster
As with age his body uglier grows,
So his mind cankers. (4:1:191 192)
It is not so simple, however. At this very point Prospero has sunk to a level not much
above Caliban s:
I will plague them all
Even to roaring (4:1:192 193)
And Caliban himself is capable of making one of the finest speeches of the play, and
of saying, when Prospero has thought better of punishing, and renounced his
supernatural power
I ll be wise hereafter
And seek for grace. What a thrice double ass
Was I, to take this drunkard for a god,
And worship this dull fool.
Research Paper On Guy Fawkes
Guy Fawkes
Guy Fawkes is one of England s most famous criminals; the man most closely
associated with the group of English Catholics who planned the failed Gunpowder
Plot of November 5th 1605. Even though Fawkes wasn t the leader of the conspiracy,
he was given the important task of lightening the fuse to the gunpowder.
Guy Guido Fawkes was born in April 1570 in Stonegate in York, England. Fawkes
grew up in York with his parents Edith and Edward Fawkes, and his three siblings.
However, Fawkes father died in 1578, and a couple of years later, his mother
married the recusant Catholic Denis Bainbridge. Living with Bainbridge and
attending St. Peter s School in York at the same time is most likely the main reasons
why Guy Fawkes decided to convert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to catch the plotters, Cecil decided not to invade the cellar until the very last
minute, expecting some of the plotters to be in position only then.
Guy Fawkes even tried to light the fuse when he saw the soldiers coming, but he got
overpowered. Fawkes was taken directly to the Tower of London and was tortured
until he confessed the crime and gave up the names of the rest of the group.
Guy Fawkes was sentenced to the traditional traitors death; to be hanged, drawn
and quartered . However, on January 31st 1606, Fawkes jumped from the gallows
and broke his own neck. This way, he wasn t alive when his stomach was cut open
and his guts spilled before his eyes. The remains of him was chopped up and sent to
the four corners of the kingdom as a warning to the people.
Today, the failed Gunpowder Plot is celebrated as Bonfire night all over Britain,
with fireworks and big fires. This tradition first started when the people of London
lit fires to celebrate the safety of the King. It is also common to burn effigies of Guy
Fawkes on the bonfire, which makes some wonder whether the Brits are celebrating
Fawkes execution or honoring his attempt to do away with the
Leo Steinberg Flatbed Picture Plane Analysis
In the late 1950s, Rauschenberg began to make the groundbreaking works he
dubbed Combines. These works inspired Leo Steinberg s theorization of the flatbed
picture plane. This term was posited in his essay Reflections on the State of
Criticism. The essay s first manifestation was as a lecture given at the Museum of
Modern Artin March 1968, and was subsequently published in Artforum in 1972.
Notably, it was also the title essay in Steinberg s book Other Criteria: Confrontation
with Twentieth Century Art, of 1972. Steinberg s notion of the flatbed picture plane
has several facets. This picture plane relies on the actual flatness of the paintings
surface, the horizontality of the work s construction and reception, an interaction

Unlike canvas or paper, printing stones and plates can only be worked on while they
are flat. The weight of the lithography stones, the acid bath of etchings, and the
carving of woodcuts do not allow for any other orientation. Furthermore, presses are
always kept horizontal; any other orientation would not create enough pressure to
transfer the image to paper. Rauschenberg s affinity for lithography (I am
suggesting) is foreshadowed in his Combines as well as in his early indexical works.
In fact, it can be asserted that critical concerns like the flatbed and the index better
suit his lithographs than his other
Simon s Hostile Tender for Taubman
Introduction:
The Taubman Company is one of the preeminent retail developers/owners/managers
in the United States and its properties among the most productive in the nation.
Simon is the largest shopping center owner and manager in the country and was
interested in Taubman because Taubman, a much smaller company, has among the
most unique, profitable and high quality shopping centers in the country. It was much
easier to buy a shopping center company than to develop shopping centers from the
ground up, which is really why Simon was interested in Taubman. Thus, Simon
Property Group launched a hostile tender offer for Taubman Centers.
This was a hostile bid because Taubman was not for sale and, therefore, a negotiated
transaction was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To overcome with this problem, Umbrella Partnership REIT (UPREIT) was invented
in December of 1992 by the Taubman Realty Group. The UPREIT is a concept that
allows a real estate owner to go public without making a taxable real estate exchange.
As per the textbook and realestateportfolio.com web site, A UPREIT works as
follows: A REIT forms a partnership in which property owners contribute real estate
assets in exchange for partnership interests, which are called operating partnership
units or OP units. The former property owners can exchange their partnership units
on a one for one basis for REIT shares or cash, at the REIT s option. Since there is
no fundamental change in ownership, there is no taxable event until the property
owner actually receives REIT shares or cash. A transaction that exchanges real
property for stock would be a taxable event. The UPREIT helped by permitting
property owners to defer taxes until partnership units are converted to stock or cash.
The advantage is this structure provides a viable exit strategy to commercial
property owners who otherwise might have significant capital gain tax liabilities on
the sale of appreciated property. In addition, the investor benefits from additional
diversification because they have an interest in a portfolio of commercial properties
instead of just one property. This structure is not appropriate for every investor as
they must have property that the REIT wants to add to their
Ap Human Genetics Chapter 6 Analysis
In chapter 6, we are introduced to Barbara McClintock, a scientist who would
change how we viewed genetics as a whole. Similar to other some other female
scientist, she was largely ignored for her ideas but we came to realize the
importance of her research. McClintock focuses a lot of her research on corn and its
genetic material and evolutionary history. By studying corn she found that certain
areas of the corn would have different colors. For example, while most of the corn
would be yellow, there could be purple sections within the same corn. Upon further
research, she proved the hypothesis that sections of corn DNAwere actually
jumping or moving from one section of the genome to another. These genes that
could jump and move into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was also shown that the area where the genes moved into were not random but, in
fact, had a particular method of where and when genes would transpose. To modern
genetics, these ideas supported the idea that an organism s genome could actually
spur mutations if it could increase the survival of the organism. These ideas also
change how we view genomics because now areas where there are noncoding regions
could in fact have been areas where these transposons could have existed but have
since lost function. Therefore, we can study these regions to find evidence that they
may have previously been transposons. They may have lost their function due to the
increase stability of our environment or some other reason. Interestingly, her work has
some larger complications on evolution as a whole. In fact, her ideas suggest that
evolution may not have needed generations upon generations to produce a result, but
with transposons, could occur much faster than thought possible. This is because not
just one codon is being mutated but entire sections are being moved around.
However, it is important to note that the transposons are not imparting advantages
with every occurrence but rather are increasing the variation
The Cloud Of Cloud Computing Essay
1.1Project Background Cloud computing have revolutionized life as we know it; it
allows people to store, manage, and access their data by using a network of remote
servers which are hosted on the internet rather than using a local server or own
hardware. A recent study conducted by KPMG found that 81% of businesses were
either evaluating cloud services, planned a cloud implementation or had already
implemented a cloud strategy [1]. Organizations tend to use the cloud to reduce
costs and improve efficiency. Cloud is not a commodity, some people think that it
comes out of the sky, while in fact it comes from physical hardware inside brick
and mortar facilities which are connected to hundreds of miles by networking
cables. We can conclude from cloud computing that it is a significant technology
which can be utilized nowadays and in the coming future to make everything easy.
The project is to provide a web service using cloud computing, there are many web
services, but all the web services need a platform to run on it which in this case is
the virtual machine on cloud server. This will help users to access their data from
any device or machine instead of using hard drives. My target in this project is to
prove that cloud can be used for different kind of applications and purposes. An
example of cloud web services is enabling the user to create a virtual machine on the
cloud server of the web service provider. A virtual machine can be created and
customized by the web service
Individual Liberty and The Bill 94 in Quebec, Canada

Bentham s principle lacks stability because it disregards the individual rights of
those who face the pain. Mill s perception provides a more realistic approach
because it considers individual rights, and understands the value they hold to
society s general welfare. Mill would not support Bill 94 because it is refraining
Muslim women from living their life to full capacity. Mill and Locke would both
argue that the government has no place enforcing laws on private matters including
religious ones. Locke does not support discrimination against people because of the
personal choice of religious belief or practice. Both would agree that an individual
has the right to do as they please and should not be forced to conform. The overall
formation of Bill 94 is based upon unproven assumptions. Human rights activists
believe that Muslim would are forced to wear the niqab. It is also a general
assumption in Western society that Muslims do not want for integrate or conform to
Western values. This assumption leads to the question: How can Muslims integrate
when integration strategies are asking them to disregard their religious beliefs?
Muslims seem to be the only parties that need to make changes, why aren t the
legislative bodies of Western society changing, and providing more accommodating

Nursing Shortage And Increased Workload Essay
Hospitals nationwide are experiencing nurse shortage and increased workloads
because of shorter hospital stays, fewer support resources and higher acuity in
patients (Vahey, D. C., Aiken, L. H., Sloane, D. M., Clarke, S. P., Vargas, D., 2004).
Higher nurse workloads are directly associated with job burnout and job
dissatisfaction which in turn causes more voluntary nurseturnover and relates to the
increased nursing shortage. According to the Missouri Hospital Association the
turnover rate of nurses has increased by fourteen percent in the last five years
(Browning M., 2012). Nursing shortage is a real threat to the patient population.
According to the Quality Health Outcomes Model by the American Academy of
Nursing by Donabedian, effects of the healthcare interventions are characterized by
the environment the staff works in (Vahey et al., 2004). Donabedian describes that
quality metrics can be divided into three broad categories, structural, process, and
clinical. Structural measures the setting in which the health is carried out such as the
level of education the nurse receives before entering the work field, staffing
adequacy, and nurse autonomy. Process measures the care the patient actually
receives such as monitoring quality care measures like a decrease in catheter
associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI s), continuity of care, patient centeredness,
and nurse surveillance on particular units. Clinical measures the clinical outcomes
such as mortality rates and

The site has served as Los Angeles Asian community for over thirty years. However,
the cultural center has served different historical periods. For instance, during the
Second World War, Los Angeles faced a labor shortage that made African Americans
migrate from the south to seek employment. The Little Tokyo has always gone
through cultural changes. The Japanese have been into internment camps as many
southerners settled in downtown and the Little Tokyo was a vacant place that hosted
them. After the spring of 1943, the place became overcrowded with Southern African
American population who eventually took over the control of Little Tokyo. By the
end of the World War II, the Asian community had lost a lot of their land in

Compare And Contrast The Legal System Between The
United...
The legal systems of the United Kingdom and the United States share a number of
obvious resemblances which stem from the history of the countries. Today,
throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland the primary legal system in place is
still a Common Law system however the system in Scotland is a combination of both
common lawand civil law . A common law system will acquire the majority of its
laws through past cases with inferior courts being bound by higher courts, in civil
law systems there is no such precedent . Prior to gaining its independence, the US
began as an English Colony and so the US legal system was directly derived from the
English system . This therefore means that the legal system of the US is based upon
the same fundamental concept of Common Law with their common law being based
upon their constitution. Despite sharing the same basis upon which their legal
systems were developed, there are a number of differences between the two. Upon
researching these differences I will be looking to answer if it is accurate or not to
label these two systems as being part of the same legal family.
Arguably, the most imperative difference between the British and American legal
systems is the constitution. The fundamental dissimilarity between the US and the
UK is that the American constitution is codified in one document, whereas the UK
constitution is made up of several constitutional conventions found in numerous Acts
of Parliament. It is important to note, that

Title: Have developments in digital technology fundamentally changed the nature of
diplomacy or are they simply new means to pursuing the same ends?
Word count:
Intro:
This uncertainty reflects a growing awareness that a transformational international
system still dominated by sovereign states is having to respond to change at several
interrelated levels. Whilst complex policy agendas still demand a central, if
changing, role for the state, many of the norms, rules and roles associated with
diplomacy as it has developed over the last few centuries are no longer fit for
purpose. Clearly, fundamental questions regarding the purposes of diplomacy, who
is or should be involved in it and what forms and practices it should assume to deal
with new policy challenges need to be urgently addressed. This applies to
international organizations as well as the institutions of national diplomacy and
offers a fundamentally different perspective from that based on the familiar claim
that diplomacy is irrelevant to contemporary global needs. Rather, diplomacy has a
central role but needs to adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing environment.
Against this background, a central assumption of this report is that diplomacy as a
set of processes continues to be of central importance to the global policy milieu and
that these processes need to be constantly re evaluated.
Priscilla Queen Of The Desert Film Analysis
What is National Cinema ? A Question proposed by Tom O Reagan in Australian
National Cinema (2005). The question leads to the sociological understanding that
national cinema is constructed by both national and international film industries, the
national film text and also by the various cultural, social and political contexts.
National Cinema is a vehicle for social processes, emerging social identity and
movements. A film may categorised as a national cinema based on a number of
factors: the language spoken in the film, the nationalities or dress of the characters,
the country that supports the film financially, the setting, music or cultural elements
present in the film. Which points to The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert...

O Reagan perfectly explains that The Woman centred narrative is one feature genre
that has maintained an ongoing though minor presence on production schedules,
particularly from 1970. Then he goes on to explain that Public campaigns of the
domestic feminist movement have been strong, and a prioritising of relationships as a
central point of focus in Australian cinema has been necessary because it has had to
rely less on action and more on relationships. One of the strongest characteristics
associated with Australian cinema is the language, the Australian cinema has an
upper hand being that the spoken language is English. This establishes Australia in
the mainstream language majority. Although Australia has an impact on an
international level and has an extremely iconic accent, on one hand this works in
benefit being that the market for Australian language is demanding whereas on the
other hand the Australian slang/lingo is extremely hard to understand and interpret, it
is also very hard to translate without losing its comedic
A Diet Of Fasting And Its Effects On Children
A diet mimicking fasting alleviates MS symptoms the fast way to reduce the effects
of autoimmunity.

Reduces Autoimmunity and Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms which was published in
June 2016, by In Young Choi, Laura Piccio, Patra Childress, Friedemann Paul,
Markus Bock, Valter D. Longo
Abstract
Choi et al. have found that participating in a diet mimicking fasting can promote
regeneration of myelin and reduce autoimmunity and Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
symptoms. The paper reviews the effects a fast mimicking diet (FMD) has on EAE
mice models. The results have found than cycles of FMD result in a decrease in score
of disease severity, a decreasing in infiltrating immune cells i.e. CD11b+, MOG35 55
/IAb+ cells, IL 17, IFN Оі and an increase in the number of FoxP3+ helper cells and
GST ПЂ. There was also an increasing in myelin staining in spinal cord sections in
the FMD group. The results show that it is not chronic restriction that is most
effective in reducing autoimmunity but instead cycles of FMD, explaining why a
ketogenic diet did not perform as well in terms of disease reversing. Clinical trials
have been carried out and FMD is proving to be a safe and effective way of treating
MS symptoms, however further tests need to be applied to ensure efficacy, such as
MRI s and immune assays.

Women In Beowulf
In the essay you will be introduced to the women of Beowulf, and the roles they
played in this era. First, one may want to know who Beowulf is. Beowulf is an Old
English poem by an anonymous Anglo Saxon poet. The poem is made up of three
thousand lines that tells the story of 3 different battles. The period started in 410 and
ended in 1066.
Anglo Saxons lived in the Migration period. That s when moved from one place to
another due to the war at the time which caused them to move. It came to an end
with Edward had died and gave the kingdom to William of Normandy. Harold was
crowned to take over but failed after he tried to defend his crown. William and his

man when his courage is good (Beowulf, 12). That mean that the Anglo Saxon culture
was important to many people. Also, women had to take care of the household and
watch the kids while the men went to protect the country in Beowulf. In Anglo Saxon
period the women did the exact same thing that Beowulf describes. The story also
tells how they converted their faith to Christianity. Basically Beowulf and the Anglo
Saxon time period is telling us that it a strong, courage person to become a hero. That
the culture to them is very important and that they will do anything to protect
Wound Mold
One of the last places you want to run into mold is inside of your fridge. However,
your fridge is the perfect place for mold to thrive, with all that moisture inside and
the dark quarters. Luckily, with a few basic supplies you ll be able to eradicate the
mold in your fridge.
Act Fast
It is important that you act fast. As soon as you spot mold in your fridge, you need to
make time that day to clean and remove the mold. If you let the mold continue to sit
in your fridge, the spores can easily spread and ruin additional food in your fridge.
Make Sure You Protect Yourself
Mold spores affect each individual differently. Although the mold spores found on
food are not generally toxic to humans, it doesn t mean you should be breathing in the
spores.
You may want to wear a mask as well... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more you can minimize contact with the mold, the better.
Gather The Right Supplies
In addition to protective gear, you also need the right cleaning supplies. You can
purchase a kitchen mold cleaner from the cleaning section of a local store.
Or, you can make your own mold cleaner. All you need to do is create a cleaning
solution of one part water to one part. For convenience, you should put the cleaning
solution in a spray bottle.
Tackle The Job
Once you have all the right supplies, it is time to tackle the job. If only an enclosed
drawer in your fridge is affected with the mold, you can focus on cleaning that
target area. However, if the mold is in an open area of the fridge, you need to clean
your entire fridge.
First, remove all the food that has visible mold on it. If there is food that is
touching the mold, you should also remove that food. It could already be infected
with mold spores that just have not had enough time to grow so that you could see
them. Once you have thrown away all the mold infested and possible contaminated
food, seal off the trash bag and take it

Long term memory
Long term memory refers to the continuing storage of information. In Freudian
psychology, long term memory would be call the preconscious and unconscious.
This information is largely outside of our awareness, but can be called into working
memory to be used. Some of this information is fairly easy to recall, while other
memories are much more difficult to access. In long term memory, Tulving (1972,
2000) has proposed the existence of three kinds of long term memory storage, which
have different properties, and based on different brain mechanisms. The three long
term memory storage are; procedural memory, semantic memory and episodic
memory.
Procedural memory is used to storage the memory of movement and skills, such as
writing, cook or other movement and skills that related to our daily life. Semantic
memory is memory for meaning without reference to the time and place of learning,
and episodic memory refers to memory for specific experience that can be define in
terms of time and space.

Introduction
The goal of antimicrobial susceptibility testing is to predict the success or failure of
antibiotic therapy. Tests are performed and measure the growth response of an
isolated organism to a selected drug or medicine. The results of antimicrobial
susceptibility testing ought to be combined with clinical information and skill once

The Controversial Debate Of Abortion
Throughout our Women and Religion Course, we have analyzed how women s
lives have been shaped by religious affiliation, or lack thereof. Religious obligations
and ideals have historically placed women in a patriarchal box that has required
the submission or obedience of women in order to be a true follower. This
ideology has created a movement within different religions for a more progressive
understanding of the modern woman and her ability to increase participation and
visibility for similar women; who may be experiencing the same plight. Women,
who speak out about the emotional, sexual, and physical abuse that pervades certain
religions, as well as the lack of respect, provide a voice for woman who may
otherwise never have their stories... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it was only considered a crime because it deprived the husband of a child,
it was not criminal to deprive the fetus of life itself. American states developed their
initial stance on abortion through British law, which allowed the legality of abortion
so long as it was performed before quickening , also referenced as the first
movements of the fetus. The first detectable movements of the fetus occur primarily
between 13 25 weeks of pregnancy meaning that abortion was legal up until the end
of the second trimester. Although early abortion practices were still dangerous and
unregulated, they were openly advertised in the U.S. until 1821. Connecticut became
the first state to criminalize abortion. This would eventually lead to the subsequent
criminalization of abortion in all 50 states by 1965, with very few exceptions.
Connecticut began its descent into illegal abortion legislation by outlawing the sale
of an abortion inducing liquid. Initially, the law did not punish the women who used
this method of abortion, but soon after, New York criminalized female participation
in abortion practices. The 1845 New York law criminalized the woman regardless if
she participated in the abortion before or after quickening.
Scholars even in present day discussions have disputed the ideology behind the initial
outlawing of abortion. Some researchers argue that new implementation
Market Failure in Unemployment Benefits
Market Failure In Provision of Unemployment Benefit
Market failure occurs when resources aren t used efficiently. This can be seen in
any market, whether a publics good or a private good. Market failure can also be
seen in the provision of unemployment benefits and unemployment insurance, as the
resources could be used inefficiently and misused in different ways. For the purpose
of this essay I will focus on how MORAL HAZZARD, prevents the efficiency in
unemployment benefits and insurance, I will discuss the main issues to do with
moral hazard in unemployment and also ways of combating it. I will do this by
firstly defining market failure and the main components on it before leading to the
actual topic of moral hazard.
Market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moral hazard is greatly seen as an individual can influence their probability of
entering or leaving unemployment. Moral hazard creates a disincentive to work and
reduces the supply of labour in a country. Moral hazard is unobservable , this means
the providers of insurance and benefit are totally unaware of the unemployed
intention while receiving the benefit. In unemployment insurance the two parties are
involved in contractual relationships, as their intentions contradict. The receiver of
the benefit is acting in a hazardous way and the insurer is fully on aware which
makes the provision a market failure.
The money being received for unemployment benefit is substantially high in
Ireland. This means that people are less willing to look for work as they have a
good income already. Looking for work would mean a loss of benefit or a reduce
income due to tax which will reduce the incentive for a person to go look for work.
Due to Moral Hazzard the system of payment are structured with a view to ensuring
that the system of payments does not weaken the incentive of the unemployed to take
on paid employment. Income tax and social security contributions levied on earnings
determine the employee s net earnings, when unemployed a worker receives
payments. If the gap between this is too much it may affect the incentive to work. If
the ratio is high then moral hazard increases as those who are unemployed may cease
to work.
Essay Enlightenment from The Tao Te Ching
Enlightenment from The Tao Te Ching
The Tao Te Ching can be helpful to all, and the reading of it may be enlightening.
Reading the Tao can give much insight on the challenges and dangers that humans
must face in this world, how a person should live his life, the dangers of a powerful
ruler, how the state should rule, how citizens should serve the state, and the messages
or forewarnings for us today.
Mankind has the tendency to be self conscious, greedy, and materialistic, and human
history shows this to be the case in all societies. Even in China they suffer from the
selfish aspects of humans. The Tao states on page 9, Chase after money and security

On the other hand the Tao explains that one should lead a simple lifestyle. A simple
life, is just that, simple. A person can lead a very enjoyable life if one does not have
worries about money. The Tao states on page 8, In dwelling, live close to the ground.
/In thinking, keep to the simple./In conflict, be fair and generous./In governing, don t
try to control./In work, do what you enjoy./In family life, be completely present.
When one keeps their living conditions simple, are fair to others, and enjoys their
work, life can be very fulfilling. The Tao states that the family arrangement is the
most honorable virtue, and each family member must contribute to family unity
according to page 54, Let the Tao be present in your life/and you will become
genuine./Let it be present in your family/and your family will flourish. Having a
successful family life should be everyone s goal, but this simple statement is rarely
what we see in the western world today. Instead of unity we either see one out of
every two marriages ending in divorce, or we see disunited families. Rarely do we
see united families, and when we do it is very refreshing.
A ruler, in China, is the most honored person in the Chinese society, but the ruler has
an obligation to be a moral and upright individual. The Tao addresses these

Fastball Research Paper
The Science of Hitting a Major League Fastball You might think that hitting a
baseball is pretty easy just keep your eye on the ball and swing. Yet while it sounds
pretty straightforward, there is so much physics that goes into hitting a baseball.
When you consider all the aspects, getting a base hit is actually mind blowing.
These powerful bullets spin twenty times a second, traveling at speeds of more than
90 mph. The mound (where the ball is thrown from) is 60 feet and 6 inches from the
batter (who is trying to hit the ball). The average fastball passes through this area
within ВЅ to в…“ of a second. That basically means the batter has to evaluate the
pitch, decide whether or not to swing, and apply his decision.
According to Dr. Glenn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the reasons...is the shape of the baseball; the baseball is cork, wrapped around
by a cowhide, with stitches holding it all together. The stitches have an important
impact on a baseball s path as they create additional friction with the air.
Fastballs can rotate at up to 1200 rpm and differential pressure is created around
the ball as it rotates, exerting a force on the baseball, and changing its path. That is
called The Magnus Force. A forward upward spin causes lower pressure above the
baseball that slows the drop of a baseball. On the other hand, a forward downward
spin causes higher pressure above the baseball increasing the ball s drop to the ground.
Now that we know what the pitcher is capable of doing, it is time to see how the
hitter will overcome the monstrous arm they will face. You need good eyesight,
concentration, and experience. The batter will need 50 milliseconds to evaluate
the location and speed of an incoming pitch. If the swing is 7 milliseconds early or
7 milliseconds late, that s could be the difference between a base hit, and a foul
ball. That s tough to do, especially with a round baseball and a round bat, but each
bat does have a sweet spot. The sweet spot is where ball will receive the maximum
momentum from the bat. The bat will compress to ВЅ of its normal thickness, when
the ball is hit squarely, (but that contact with the ball and the bat will only last 1
/1000th of a second). A normal

Columbia competes with many different companies in the apparel industry. They
name a broad range of different companies manufacturing a very large number of
products, but their main competitor is VF Corporation, the holding company for

significantly larger than Columbia due to the additional brand names they carry in
the apparel sector but that do not directly compete with Columbia such as Lee jeans.
Columbia competes on a day to day basis with The North Face on product quality,

Ever since there was civilization there were laws, lawmakers, and law enforcers.
The Founding Fathers established the U.S. with special laws that give citizens the
freedom that the British had denied to them. When they traveled to the country, the
documents that the Founding Fathers wrote permitted them freedom of speech,
freedom of religion and the right to a speedy and public trial. Reading newspapers

justice system blunders and leads to wrongly convict people for what they do not
commit. This is the reality of a wrecked system that is resulted from injustice and
corruption. Ultimately, Errol Morris confirms this reality based on a true story of
an innocent convicted Randal Adams for a criminal case by creating a film, The
Thin Blue Line. David Harris, an important accuser, claims Adams was a murderer
and shot Robert Wood, a Dallas police officer. With Morris suspicion of Adam s
innocence, he turns himself to be a detective movie director and investigates the
criminal case that occurred in Dallas, Texas in 1976. His goal is to show that Adams
was wrongly convicted and justice system was flawed. By using juxtaposition,
recreations, and archival footage. Morris successfully contrasts Adams
The Negative Use Of Social Media
Social media has many unique uses, and is an invaluable tool. While it can be
harmful, and even dangerous, when you understand how to use it and what it
should be used for it can greatly enhance your life. One of the many ways social
media is beneficial is that it can help students who have just graduated from
college find a job. There are hundreds of networking sites out there that a student
can use to get there resume in front of the right people, and even doing something
as simple as creating a blog about your job search and skill set can mean the
difference between getting hired a month after graduation and a year after
graduation. Sites like LinkedIn, Jobster, and Simplyhired are designed to help
people find jobs in all fields. LinkedIn in particular, allows you to upload a resume,
write a personal statement, add a profile picture, and connect with potential
employers, friends who are pursuing a similar career, and family members who
already have a job in the field you are looking in. Students can create a profile on
LinkedIn before they graduate, and include information about internships they
completed while in College, volunteer work they may have done, athletic
involvement, leadership roles they held while in school, and a copy of their current
transcript. This will enable them to get in front of employers early, and hopefully
cause employers to think about their name when it comes time to start hiring. Once
students graduate, they can add information about where
Early Interventions Parents Of Preterm Infants
Introduction A preterm infant can be defined as an infant who is born before 37
weeks gestation. Babies who are born premature have a high risk for many health and
developmental problems as infants and, furthermore, as they develop into adults.
These health and developmental problems can include brain defects, recurrent
illnesses, short attention span, sensory impairments, poor motor coordination, delays
in language, and emotional and behavior problems. Since preterm infants are fragile
and minuscule, parents of preterm infants tend to be more distant when caring for
their child. Preterm infants are less likely to be held close, touched, or talked to by
their parents compared to full term infants (Berk, 2013). This paper focuses on...

Skin to Skin (Kangaroo) Care Through research, skin to skin (kangaroo) care has been
shown to be one of the most affective early interventions used by parents. It has been
stated that kangaroo care helps to regulate preterm infants body temperatures,
improve preterm infants breathing patterns and blood oxygen levels, and increase the
rate at which preterm infants gain weight. Kangaroo care has been known to diminish
apnea, slow heart rates, and hospital stays for preterm babies. Kangaroo care
intervention includes rhythmic, sensory, and tactile elements. These elements help
preterm infants attention span, development of both motor and mental skills, and
cognitive development. When a mother participates in kangaroo care, the preterm
infant is placed in between her breasts and when a father participates in this type of
intervention, the preterm infant is placed next to his chest. Mothers who participate
in kangaroo care state they have more positive emotions toward their baby and they
have a better feel of their parenting role (Feldman, Eidelman, Sirota, Weller, 2002).
According to Feldman et al. (2002), there are more positive interactions between
mothers and preterm infants who participate in kangaroo care than there are between
mothers and preterm infants who do not participate in the intervention. There are also
more positive interactions between mothers and preterm infants who participate in
The British Petroleum And Bp Oil Spill Essay
The British Petroleum (BP) Oil Spill occurred in April of 2010 and hurt many
people, animals, businesses, and the economy of the many cities it impacted. It is
recognized as the worst oil spill in the history of the United States, killing eleven
people. The spill occurred due to a leak in a pipe that spilled oil into the Gulf of
Mexico. The BP Oil well was not capped until 87 days later, by which 3.19 million
barrels of oil had already spilled into the the Gulf of Mexico. The BP Oil spill did
not only impact humans but sea animals too, including shrimp, lobsters, dolphins,
turtles, and more. To clean up the spill, more chemicals were dumped into the ocean
to reduce the size of the oil droplets causing the chemicals to also enter the food
chain of these sea creatures as well. Over one thousand miles of the Gulf of Mexico
shoreline was affected by the British Petroleumoil spill. But while the BP oil spill
caused many damages to the Gulf of Mexico, it also brought some benefits, including
jobs for immigrants and the national economic financial crisis started to withdraw.
Panama City and Destin being two cities, well known for their beautiful beaches
was severely impacted by this oil spill. Small and big businesses lost plenty of
business as this spill occurred during the two cities booming season of summer. If
the spill had happened in the winter, it wouldn t have been as big of a harm on the

What is Vietnamese Cuisine: Origin and Evolution If a Vietnamese cook is asked

Mongol tribesmen brought with them their love of beef, which resulted in the

occurs for the most common of reasons: driver distraction. In this case you were
lucky that the car was moving slowly and no one was injured. However, these
accidents don t always turn out so well and can result in whiplash, neck, and back

consequences. It depends on the speed of the collision as well as the size of the

seem not to understand or agree with each other. The conflict can either be between a
couple, siblings or even parents with their children. But as much as there are
numerous conflicting feelings flowing around our families, reconciliation should be
the most important factor and step towards uniting the family.
Reconciliation is the act of the restoration of friendly relations. It involves the
forgiveness of each other s flaws and forgetting all about them, moving forward
together. I am going to look at three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She confronts him and calls him ambiguous names such as old lecher , old liar and
daddy old pauper old prisoner, old man . These are not names to call someone who
you have forgiven; they are names that show how much hate and range you have
towards someone who is more like an enemy, therefore making the title of the book
Forgiving My Father to be an irony.
In addition to that, the girl seems to be holding a grudge against her father for
being poor. She thinks to herself that only if the father was rich she would have
taken all the wealth of herself. She thinks that her father did not do enough to her
mother and that he was supposed to give her mother everything for she felt that she
very much deserved it all. It is so obvious that she is very much annoyed by the fact
that her father was so poor and could not support the family financially; describing
him to a person whose pocket was not going to
A Rhetorical Analysis Of The Giorgio Armani Code
Giorgio Armani is an Italian fashion house that manufactures and designs haute
couture. Such luxurious and high fashions are visibly seen through their
advertisements such as their Armani Code fragrance. In the Giorgio Armani ad,
audiences can see the similarity in the different fragrance ads for men and women
such as the same models but in different positions. However, one could see the
difference in choice of audiences by closely analyzing the visual and rhetorical
appeals. Both the Giorgio Armaniadvertisements, Armani Code for men and
Armani Code for women look very similar in retrospect due to the intimate and
sexual appeal they exude. However, by analyzing visual and rhetorical appeals, one
could clearly see the distinct difference in choice of audiences despite selling the
same product which is the fragrance. The fragrance for women aims to sell their
product to adult females in the middle and upper class. The fragrance for men
however, directs their ad towards adult males in the middle and upper... Show more

In both the advertisements, there are two models, a man and a woman (Megan
Fox). The models are both dressed up in formal attire with the man in a black
tuxedo and the woman in a sexy black dress with a revealing back. Both of the ads
include the models bodies facing each other at an intimate distance. This image
displays a certain sex appeal which helps to connect the fragrance, Armani Code, to
the idea of sexiness. The women s fragrance ad shows the woman staring
confidently at camera as a man is gazing towards her body touching her arm. This
depicts the woman being desired. The men s fragrance does the same with the man
staring at the camera and the woman being entranced by the man. The two
advertisements are marketed towards different sexes and use the main figure as the
sexual object to be
Absorbance Spectrum Lab Report
Plotting the Absorption Spectrum of Lettuce Leaf Extract November 14, 2012 Aim:
To see how chlorophyll pigments absorb electromagnetic radiation at different
wavelengths, with the use of a spectrophotometer to vary the wavelength of
incident light, and then plot an absorption spectrum. Hypothesis: The chlorophyll
pigments of the spinach leaf s chlorophyll extract will absorb more electromagnetic
radiation at wavelengths which correspond to the wavelengths of colors other than
green, as chlorophyll is green and it will reflect green light. Collection of Raw Data
Beaker | 50mL beaker, same for each group | Filter paper | Semi transparent, thin |
Spinach leaves | 5 identical dark green leaves |... Show more content on

We were also careful about the concentration of the extract, as the transmittance of
the extract at first should be between 65% to 85%; when it is under 65% the solution
is too concentrated and some ethanol should be added, and when it is greater than
85% it is not concentrated enough. Another crucial point was placing the cuvette of
ethanol into the sample compartment and calibrating to 100% transmittance using
the 100%T/0A knob prior to placing the cuvette of extract, as it is essential to zero
the absorbance every time before qualifying the absorbance of the chlorophyll
pigments. With special attention to these details, the aim of the experiment was
achieved. Although we did achieve our aim, there were a few errors, limitations and
weakness that obstructed us from achieving the most accurate results. For instance,
we should have read the instructions more carefully, because due to
misunderstandings we were not setting the spectrophotometer properly at first, and
we were able to realize it only after our teacher s help. Because of this lack of
concentration, we wasted a small amount of ethanol and extract since we used them
with the wrong settings and had to re do that part of the experiment, and therefore we
also wasted time. Furthermore, we could have observed and recorded the data more
attentively, and hence obtain more accurate results for the
The Little Cloud Literary Analysis
Though they may seem like simple stories meant for children, picture books can
often contain deeper meanings using not only the story but also the design of the
book. The artwork, placement of the text, and even the usage of the book s gutter
is intentional and can contribute to the central theme of the book. Eric Carle s
Little Cloud is an example of a simple looking picture book that is more than it
seems. Through this story about a cloud changing shape, Carle demonstrates the
process of children discovering their own identities and being accepted into society.
The wrap around cover is a painted tissue collage of a smiling cloud, neither
cartoonish nor realistic, but rather like something an elementary student could
produce. However, the cloud is actually a deceptively intricate blend of white, grey,
and blue, and its background of blue is a combination of blues and greens. Inside of
the dust jacket are the flap covers, which Carle utilized with a handwritten note to his
readers. He talks about cloud gazing and the power of imagination,... Show more

There are no margins or white space apart for the clouds themselves, producing a
sense of freedom in the text. The typeface of the book is large and bold, and it
always appears on the side of the illustration where Little Cloud is. Throughout the
story, Little Cloud doesn t follow the other clouds, instead morphing into various
things it observes while drifting overhead. In one part of the book, the cloud takes
the shape of two trees because Little Cloud liked the way trees never moved and
stayed in one place (pg. 13 14). This is similar to what impressionable children do
when they imitate adults. To them, being an adult means they won t be forced to do
things they don t want to do. Little Cloud wants to know what it is like to be
stationary, but mimicking trees does not mean literally becoming a

  • 1. Save The World Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of saving the world is a daunting task that encompasses a myriad of challenges. At its core, the topic is both broad and complex, demanding a deep understanding of global issues, environmental science, social dynamics, and political landscapes. To encapsulate the urgency and significance of saving the world, one must navigate through a vast sea of information, extracting relevant data while avoiding the pitfalls of misinformation. The difficulty intensifies when attempting to strike a balance between providing comprehensive coverage and maintaining focus. The interconnected nature of global challenges makes it challenging to address each aspect without succumbing to tangential discussions. Moreover, the task involves grappling with the emotional weight of the subject matter – the impending environmental crises, social injustices, and the pressing need for collective action. Creating a cohesive narrative that resonates with readers is another hurdle. The essay must transcend the technical jargon and statistics, engaging the audience on a personal and emotional level. Striking this delicate balance requires a keen understanding of the target audience, ensuring that the message is accessible to both experts and those less versed in the intricacies of the issues at hand. Furthermore, the call to action embedded in a "Save The World" essay necessitates careful consideration. Crafting a compelling argument for individual and collective responsibility demands not only persuasive writing skills but also a nuanced understanding of human behavior and societal dynamics. It's a delicate dance between motivation and avoidance of overwhelming the reader. In conclusion, composing an essay on the imperative task of saving the world involves a complex interplay of research, emotional intelligence, and persuasive communication. Ancient Egypt was located in Northeastern Africa along the Nile River. Egypt was divided into Upper and Lower Egypt from 5000 to 2950 BC; the unification of Egypt was around 3000 BC. Ancient Egypt was around until about 50 BC. The Egyptians are known for many accomplishments; they include: their complex irrigation system, hieroglyphics, and the practice of medicine, the calendar, their art, and the construction of the pyramids. The pyramids were built as monuments to honor the dead. There are many mysteries concerning the construction of the pyramids. This research will be directed towards the Great Pyramids at Giza. The pyramids are a very interesting subject matter because they are gigantic structures that were constructed by only the minds of early architects and the hands of many workers. This research will cover the ideas of how these Great Pyramids were constructed. The Age of the Pyramids: The ancient Egyptian people were very religious. Their religion was very important to them; they worshiped their gods, and they glorified them. Their kings or pharaohs were also believed to be gods. The burial of their kings was a very important aspect for Egyptian life, and their belief in afterlife. This belief led to the construction of elaborate funerary architecture. The following semiotic analysis of the advertisement for Frank Rippingille s patent cooking stoves and an image of the Summer at the Cape of Good Hope Afternoon tea on the stoep by Renhardt, which proceeds by a description of the denotative meaning of the image and the advertisement and then followed by the interpretation of the connotative meaning by drawing on knowledge of the Victorian values (Walvin 1987). The people who come from different cultures represent the different nations and this is justified by the text which states Englands gift a blessing to all nations Queen Victoria represents England and the gift is the stove. • 6. Essay on Themes in the Tempest Themes in the Tempest The Tempest is generally considered to be Shakespeare s last sole authored play. The play draws a number of oppositions, some of which it dramatises, and some of which it only implies. Prospero, a figure exhibiting many resemblances to the Elizabethan idea of the Mage , (of whom the best known is probably Dr. John Dee), is opposed to both his corrupt brother, usurper of his role as Duke of Milan, and to Sycorax, an evil witch and mother of the deformed slave Caliban. Sycorax does not enter the action of the play, having died before it opens, but enough is made of her evil disposition and behaviour to show Prospero as a model of human virtue in comparison. This despite Prospero s own use of magic to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Tempest is involved in a discussion of nobility, seen here as a matter of inheritance, but in the opposition of Prospero and his brother Antonio we see that inheritance has two sides. Antonio betrayed Prospero and stole his inheritance (materially; his Dukedom), so virtue, nobility , is not entirely a matter of having noble parentage. A further denotation of nobility, in line with fashionable Neo Platonism is that the beautiful are good, and the ugly, wicked. This is explicit in Miranda s case, both in herself and in the attitudes she expresses: There s nothing ill can dwell in such a temple: If the ill spirit have so fair a house Good things will strive to dwell with t. (1:2:460 462) Caliban, on the other hand, is deformed , and described as a fish and a monster As with age his body uglier grows, So his mind cankers. (4:1:191 192) It is not so simple, however. At this very point Prospero has sunk to a level not much above Caliban s: I will plague them all Even to roaring (4:1:192 193) And Caliban himself is capable of making one of the finest speeches of the play, and of saying, when Prospero has thought better of punishing, and renounced his supernatural power

Even though Fawkes wasn t the leader of the conspiracy, he was given the important task of lightening the fuse to the gunpowder. Guy Guido Fawkes was born in April 1570 in Stonegate in York, England. Fawkes grew up in York with his parents Edith and Edward Fawkes, and his three siblings. However, Fawkes father died in 1578, and a couple of years later, his mother married the recusant Catholic Denis Bainbridge. Guy Fawkes even tried to light the fuse when he saw the soldiers coming, but he got overpowered. Fawkes was taken directly to the Tower of London and was tortured until he confessed the crime and gave up the names of the rest of the group. Guy Fawkes was sentenced to the traditional traitors death; to be hanged, drawn and quartered . However, on January 31st 1606, Fawkes jumped from the gallows and broke his own neck. This way, he wasn t alive when his stomach was cut open and his guts spilled before his eyes. The remains of him was chopped up and sent to the four corners of the kingdom as a warning to the people. Today, the failed Gunpowder Plot is celebrated as Bonfire night all over Britain, with fireworks and big fires. This tradition first started when the people of London lit fires to celebrate the safety of the King. It is also common to burn effigies of Guy Fawkes on the bonfire, which makes some wonder whether the Brits are celebrating Fawkes execution or honoring his attempt to do away with the
  • 9. Leo Steinberg Flatbed Picture Plane Analysis In the late 1950s, Rauschenberg began to make the groundbreaking works he dubbed Combines. These works inspired Leo Steinberg s theorization of the flatbed picture plane. This term was posited in his essay Reflections on the State of Criticism. The essay s first manifestation was as a lecture given at the Museum of Modern Artin March 1968, and was subsequently published in Artforum in 1972. Notably, it was also the title essay in Steinberg s book Other Criteria: Confrontation with Twentieth Century Art, of 1972. Steinberg s notion of the flatbed picture plane has several facets. This picture plane relies on the actual flatness of the paintings surface, the horizontality of the work s construction and reception, an interaction between... The weight of the lithography stones, the acid bath of etchings, and the carving of woodcuts do not allow for any other orientation. Rauschenberg s affinity for lithography (I am suggesting) is foreshadowed in his Combines as well as in his early indexical works. In fact, it can be asserted that critical concerns like the flatbed and the index better suit his lithographs than his other

Simon s Hostile Tender for Taubman Introduction: The Taubman Company is one of the preeminent retail developers/owners/managers in the United States and its properties among the most productive in the nation. Simon is the largest shopping center owner and manager in the country and was interested in Taubman because Taubman, a much smaller company, has among the most unique, profitable and high quality shopping centers in the country. It was much easier to buy a shopping center company than to develop shopping centers from the ground up, which is really why Simon was interested in Taubman. Thus, Simon Property Group launched a hostile tender offer for Taubman Centers. This was a hostile bid because Taubman was not for sale and, therefore, a negotiated transaction was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To overcome with this problem, Umbrella Partnership REIT (UPREIT) was invented in December of 1992 by the Taubman Realty Group. The UPREIT is a concept that allows a real estate owner to go public without making a taxable real estate exchange. As per the textbook and realestateportfolio.com web site, A UPREIT works as follows: A REIT forms a partnership in which property owners contribute real estate assets in exchange for partnership interests, which are called operating partnership units or OP units. The former property owners can exchange their partnership units on a one for one basis for REIT shares or cash, at the REIT s option. Since there is no fundamental change in ownership, there is no taxable event until the property owner actually receives REIT shares or cash. A transaction that exchanges real property for stock would be a taxable event. The UPREIT helped by permitting property owners to defer taxes until partnership units are converted to stock or cash. The advantage is this structure provides a viable exit strategy to commercial property owners who otherwise might have significant capital gain tax liabilities on the sale of appreciated property. In addition, the investor benefits from additional diversification because they have an interest in a portfolio of commercial properties instead of just one property. This structure is not appropriate for every investor as they must have property that the REIT wants to add to their
  • 11. Ap Human Genetics Chapter 6 Analysis In chapter 6, we are introduced to Barbara McClintock, a scientist who would change how we viewed genetics as a whole. Similar to other some other female scientist, she was largely ignored for her ideas but we came to realize the importance of her research. McClintock focuses a lot of her research on corn and its genetic material and evolutionary history. By studying corn she found that certain areas of the corn would have different colors. For example, while most of the corn would be yellow, there could be purple sections within the same corn. Upon further research, she proved the hypothesis that sections of corn DNAwere actually jumping or moving from one section of the genome to another. These genes that could jump and move into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was also shown that the area where the genes moved into were not random but, in fact, had a particular method of where and when genes would transpose. To modern genetics, these ideas supported the idea that an organism s genome could actually spur mutations if it could increase the survival of the organism. These ideas also change how we view genomics because now areas where there are noncoding regions could in fact have been areas where these transposons could have existed but have since lost function. Therefore, we can study these regions to find evidence that they may have previously been transposons. They may have lost their function due to the increase stability of our environment or some other reason. Interestingly, her work has some larger complications on evolution as a whole. In fact, her ideas suggest that evolution may not have needed generations upon generations to produce a result, but with transposons, could occur much faster than thought possible. This is because not just one codon is being mutated but entire sections are being moved around. However, it is important to note that the transposons are not imparting advantages with every occurrence but rather are increasing the variation

The Cloud Of Cloud Computing Essay 1.1Project Background Cloud computing have revolutionized life as we know it; it allows people to store, manage, and access their data by using a network of remote servers which are hosted on the internet rather than using a local server or own hardware. A recent study conducted by KPMG found that 81% of businesses were either evaluating cloud services, planned a cloud implementation or had already implemented a cloud strategy [1]. Organizations tend to use the cloud to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Cloud is not a commodity, some people think that it comes out of the sky, while in fact it comes from physical hardware inside brick and mortar facilities which are connected to hundreds of miles by networking cables. We can conclude from cloud computing that it is a significant technology which can be utilized nowadays and in the coming future to make everything easy. The project is to provide a web service using cloud computing, there are many web services, but all the web services need a platform to run on it which in this case is the virtual machine on cloud server. This will help users to access their data from any device or machine instead of using hard drives. My target in this project is to prove that cloud can be used for different kind of applications and purposes. An example of cloud web services is enabling the user to create a virtual machine on the cloud server of the web service provider. A virtual machine can be created and customized by the web service

  • 14. Nursing Shortage And Increased Workload Essay Hospitals nationwide are experiencing nurse shortage and increased workloads because of shorter hospital stays, fewer support resources and higher acuity in patients (Vahey, D. C., Aiken, L. H., Sloane, D. M., Clarke, S. P., Vargas, D., 2004). Higher nurse workloads are directly associated with job burnout and job dissatisfaction which in turn causes more voluntary nurseturnover and relates to the increased nursing shortage. According to the Missouri Hospital Association the turnover rate of nurses has increased by fourteen percent in the last five years (Browning M., 2012). Nursing shortage is a real threat to the patient population. According to the Quality Health Outcomes Model by the American Academy of Nursing by Donabedian, effects of the healthcare interventions are characterized by the environment the staff works in (Vahey et al., 2004). Donabedian describes that quality metrics can be divided into three broad categories, structural, process, and clinical. Structural measures the setting in which the health is carried out such as the level of education the nurse receives before entering the work field, staffing adequacy, and nurse autonomy. Process measures the care the patient actually receives such as monitoring quality care measures like a decrease in catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI s), continuity of care, patient centeredness, and nurse surveillance on particular units. Clinical measures the clinical outcomes such as mortality rates and

  • 17. Compare And Contrast The Legal System Between The United... The legal systems of the United Kingdom and the United States share a number of obvious resemblances which stem from the history of the countries. Today, throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland the primary legal system in place is still a Common Law system however the system in Scotland is a combination of both common lawand civil law . A common law system will acquire the majority of its laws through past cases with inferior courts being bound by higher courts, in civil law systems there is no such precedent . Prior to gaining its independence, the US began as an English Colony and so the US legal system was directly derived from the English system . This therefore means that the legal system of the US is based upon the same fundamental concept of Common Law with their common law being based upon their constitution. Despite sharing the same basis upon which their legal systems were developed, there are a number of differences between the two. Upon researching these differences I will be looking to answer if it is accurate or not to label these two systems as being part of the same legal family. Arguably, the most imperative difference between the British and American legal systems is the constitution. The fundamental dissimilarity between the US and the UK is that the American constitution is codified in one document, whereas the UK constitution is made up of several constitutional conventions found in numerous Acts of Parliament. It is important to note, that

Name: Jennifer Diane Ulloa SOAS ID: 643951 Course: Global Diplomatic Studies and Practice Tutor: Goitom Gebreluel Title: Have developments in digital technology fundamentally changed the nature of diplomacy or are they simply new means to pursuing the same ends? Word count: Intro: This uncertainty reflects a growing awareness that a transformational international system still dominated by sovereign states is having to respond to change at several interrelated levels. Whilst complex policy agendas still demand a central, if changing, role for the state, many of the norms, rules and roles associated with diplomacy as it has developed over the last few centuries are no longer fit for purpose. Clearly, fundamental questions regarding the purposes of diplomacy, who is or should be involved in it and what forms and practices it should assume to deal with new policy challenges need to be urgently addressed. This applies to international organizations as well as the institutions of national diplomacy and offers a fundamentally different perspective from that based on the familiar claim that diplomacy is irrelevant to contemporary global needs. Rather, diplomacy has a central role but needs to adapt to the demands of a rapidly changing environment. Against this background, a central assumption of this report is that diplomacy as a set of processes continues to be of central importance to the global policy milieu and that these processes need to be constantly re evaluated.

National Cinema is a vehicle for social processes, emerging social identity and movements. A film may categorised as a national cinema based on a number of factors: the language spoken in the film, the nationalities or dress of the characters, the country that supports the film financially, the setting, music or cultural elements present in the film. One of the strongest characteristics associated with Australian cinema is the language, the Australian cinema has an upper hand being that the spoken language is English. This establishes Australia in the mainstream language majority. A discussion of the article A Diet Mimicking Fasting Promotes Regeneration and Reduces Autoimmunity and Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms which was published in June 2016, by In Young Choi, Laura Piccio, Patra Childress, Friedemann Paul, Markus Bock, Valter D. Longo Abstract Choi et al. have found that participating in a diet mimicking fasting can promote regeneration of myelin and reduce autoimmunity and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) symptoms. The paper reviews the effects a fast mimicking diet (FMD) has on EAE mice models. The results have found than cycles of FMD result in a decrease in score of disease severity, a decreasing in infiltrating immune cells i.e. CD11b+, MOG35 55 /IAb+ cells, IL 17, IFN Оі and an increase in the number of FoxP3+ helper cells and GST ПЂ. There was also an increasing in myelin staining in spinal cord sections in the FMD group. The results show that it is not chronic restriction that is most effective in reducing autoimmunity but instead cycles of FMD, explaining why a ketogenic diet did not perform as well in terms of disease reversing. Clinical trials have been carried out and FMD is proving to be a safe and effective way of treating MS symptoms, however further tests need to be applied to ensure efficacy, such as MRI s and immune assays. Gather The Right Supplies In addition to protective gear, you also need the right cleaning supplies. You can purchase a kitchen mold cleaner from the cleaning section of a local store. Or, you can make your own mold cleaner. All you need to do is create a cleaning solution of one part water to one part. For convenience, you should put the cleaning solution in a spray bottle. Tackle The Job Once you have all the right supplies, it is time to tackle the job. If only an enclosed drawer in your fridge is affected with the mold, you can focus on cleaning that target area. However, if the mold is in an open area of the fridge, you need to clean your entire fridge. First, remove all the food that has visible mold on it. If there is food that is touching the mold, you should also remove that food. It could already be infected with mold spores that just have not had enough time to grow so that you could see them. Once you have thrown away all the mold infested and possible contaminated food, seal off the trash bag and take it

Religious obligations and ideals have historically placed women in a patriarchal box that has required the submission or obedience of women in order to be a true follower. This ideology has created a movement within different religions for a more progressive understanding of the modern woman and her ability to increase participation and visibility for similar women; who may be experiencing the same plight. American states developed their initial stance on abortion through British law, which allowed the legality of abortion so long as it was performed before quickening , also referenced as the first movements of the fetus. The first detectable movements of the fetus occur primarily between 13 25 weeks of pregnancy meaning that abortion was legal up until the end of the second trimester. Although early abortion practices were still dangerous and unregulated, they were openly advertised in the U.S. until 1821. Connecticut became the first state to criminalize abortion. This would eventually lead to the subsequent criminalization of abortion in all 50 states by 1965, with very few exceptions. Connecticut began its descent into illegal abortion legislation by outlawing the sale of an abortion inducing liquid. This can be seen in any market, whether a publics good or a private good. For the purpose of this essay I will focus on how MORAL HAZZARD, prevents the efficiency in unemployment benefits and insurance, I will discuss the main issues to do with moral hazard in unemployment and also ways of combating it. Moral hazard is greatly seen as an individual can influence their probability of entering or leaving unemployment. Moral hazard creates a disincentive to work and reduces the supply of labour in a country. Moral hazard is unobservable , this means the providers of insurance and benefit are totally unaware of the unemployed intention while receiving the benefit. In unemployment insurance the two parties are involved in contractual relationships, as their intentions contradict. The receiver of the benefit is acting in a hazardous way and the insurer is fully on aware which makes the provision a market failure. The money being received for unemployment benefit is substantially high in Ireland. This means that people are less willing to look for work as they have a good income already. Looking for work would mean a loss of benefit or a reduce income due to tax which will reduce the incentive for a person to go look for work. Due to Moral Hazzard the system of payment are structured with a view to ensuring that the system of payments does not weaken the incentive of the unemployed to take on paid employment. Income tax and social security contributions levied on earnings determine the employee s net earnings, when unemployed a worker receives payments. If the gap between this is too much it may affect the incentive to work. If the ratio is high then moral hazard increases as those who are unemployed may cease to work.

  • 30. Fastball Research Paper The Science of Hitting a Major League Fastball You might think that hitting a baseball is pretty easy just keep your eye on the ball and swing. Yet while it sounds pretty straightforward, there is so much physics that goes into hitting a baseball. When you consider all the aspects, getting a base hit is actually mind blowing. These powerful bullets spin twenty times a second, traveling at speeds of more than 90 mph. The mound (where the ball is thrown from) is 60 feet and 6 inches from the batter (who is trying to hit the ball). The average fastball passes through this area within ВЅ to в…“ of a second. That basically means the batter has to evaluate the pitch, decide whether or not to swing, and apply his decision. According to Dr. Glenn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the reasons...is the shape of the baseball; the baseball is cork, wrapped around by a cowhide, with stitches holding it all together. The stitches have an important impact on a baseball s path as they create additional friction with the air. Fastballs can rotate at up to 1200 rpm and differential pressure is created around the ball as it rotates, exerting a force on the baseball, and changing its path. That is called The Magnus Force. A forward upward spin causes lower pressure above the baseball that slows the drop of a baseball. On the other hand, a forward downward spin causes higher pressure above the baseball increasing the ball s drop to the ground. Now that we know what the pitcher is capable of doing, it is time to see how the hitter will overcome the monstrous arm they will face. You need good eyesight, concentration, and experience. The batter will need 50 milliseconds to evaluate the location and speed of an incoming pitch. If the swing is 7 milliseconds early or 7 milliseconds late, that s could be the difference between a base hit, and a foul ball. That s tough to do, especially with a round baseball and a round bat, but each bat does have a sweet spot. The sweet spot is where ball will receive the maximum momentum from the bat. The bat will compress to ВЅ of its normal thickness, when the ball is hit squarely, (but that contact with the ball and the bat will only last 1 /1000th of a second). A normal

The two advertisements are marketed towards different sexes and use the main figure as the sexual object to be

Absorbance Spectrum Lab Report Plotting the Absorption Spectrum of Lettuce Leaf Extract November 14, 2012 Aim: To see how chlorophyll pigments absorb electromagnetic radiation at different wavelengths, with the use of a spectrophotometer to vary the wavelength of incident light, and then plot an absorption spectrum. Hypothesis: The chlorophyll pigments of the spinach leaf s chlorophyll extract will absorb more electromagnetic radiation at wavelengths which correspond to the wavelengths of colors other than green, as chlorophyll is green and it will reflect green light. Collection of Raw Data Beaker | 50mL beaker, same for each group | Filter paper | Semi transparent, thin | Spinach leaves | 5 identical dark green leaves |... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We were also careful about the concentration of the extract, as the transmittance of the extract at first should be between 65% to 85%; when it is under 65% the solution is too concentrated and some ethanol should be added, and when it is greater than 85% it is not concentrated enough. Another crucial point was placing the cuvette of ethanol into the sample compartment and calibrating to 100% transmittance using the 100%T/0A knob prior to placing the cuvette of extract, as it is essential to zero the absorbance every time before qualifying the absorbance of the chlorophyll pigments. With special attention to these details, the aim of the experiment was achieved. Although we did achieve our aim, there were a few errors, limitations and weakness that obstructed us from achieving the most accurate results. For instance, we should have read the instructions more carefully, because due to misunderstandings we were not setting the spectrophotometer properly at first, and we were able to realize it only after our teacher s help. Because of this lack of concentration, we wasted a small amount of ethanol and extract since we used them with the wrong settings and had to re do that part of the experiment, and therefore we also wasted time. Furthermore, we could have observed and recorded the data more attentively, and hence obtain more accurate results for the

The Little Cloud Literary Analysis Though they may seem like simple stories meant for children, picture books can often contain deeper meanings using not only the story but also the design of the book. The artwork, placement of the text, and even the usage of the book s gutter is intentional and can contribute to the central theme of the book. Eric Carle s Little Cloud is an example of a simple looking picture book that is more than it seems. Through this story about a cloud changing shape, Carle demonstrates the process of children discovering their own identities and being accepted into society. The wrap around cover is a painted tissue collage of a smiling cloud, neither cartoonish nor realistic, but rather like something an elementary student could produce. However, the cloud is actually a deceptively intricate blend of white, grey, and blue, and its background of blue is a combination of blues and greens. Inside of the dust jacket are the flap covers, which Carle utilized with a handwritten note to his readers. He talks about cloud gazing and the power of imagination,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are no margins or white space apart for the clouds themselves, producing a sense of freedom in the text. The typeface of the book is large and bold, and it always appears on the side of the illustration where Little Cloud is. Throughout the story, Little Cloud doesn t follow the other clouds, instead morphing into various things it observes while drifting overhead. In one part of the book, the cloud takes the shape of two trees because Little Cloud liked the way trees never moved and stayed in one place (pg. 13 14). This is similar to what impressionable children do when they imitate adults. To them, being an adult means they won t be forced to do things they don t want to do. Little Cloud wants to know what it is like to be stationary, but mimicking trees does not mean literally becoming a
