Debate Lawyer Research Paper
Three Reasons You May Need to Consult with a Probate Attorney as an Executor of Your Parent s
Estate
If you have been named the executor of your parent s estate and their has been a death, you may
think that the process of probate is straight forward, so there is no reason to involve a probate
attorney. But there are several reasons why this is not a good idea. The following are only a few
of the significant reasons you should consider speaking with a probate lawyer.
You have siblings who expect a certain inheritance
This can be a big problem if your parent s estate was not divided up equally between the children.
It is not uncommon for a man or woman to leave different portions of his or her wealth to different
children. If these children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Qualified experts will be needed to place an appraisal on the worth of the asset. A probate attorney
can advise you on how best to go about the sale of an entire business or a share of ownership, so
there is less of a chance of a problem developing over the proceeds.
Your parent s estate is worth less than the outstanding debts
In this case, the state where your parent resided likely has rules as to which creditor gets paid
first and how much. An attorney will know exactly how this is done, so legal assistance is the
only route to take. Also, you need to consider taxes as well. If your parent s estate owes taxes,
these will need to be paid first. After this, if the estate is still worth less than the total outstanding
debt, you need a probate lawyer.
Keep in mind that much of the probate process is governed by state law, so the specific advice
for your situation will relate directly to the particular rules of the state. In some states there is a
simple probate process, but this is only for estates that do not involve any of the above situations.
If you have any questions about the probate process, you can always consult with an attorney to
simply get information that you need. After this, you can decide if you need the services of a probate

The evolution how 3G to 4G technologies

1. Introduction Since contemporary communication came into daily life, people always keep
seeking unrestricted communication at all time. Mobile telecommunication satisfied people s
demand with the first generation (1G) and the second generation (2G). In the wake of development
in multimedia and internet, most of telecommunication mobile networks operators have offered the
third generation (3G) to the customers to replace 2G over the past two years. Currently, many ICT

The core technology of 4G is orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) which belongs
to Multi Carrier Modulation (MCM). It divides assigned channel into orthogonal sub channels,
modulating and transmitting on each sub channel of narrowband (AceГ±a 2005). 3.2
Telecommunication system structure 3G is based on cellular network (shown in Figure 1), the
core network of 3G is developed from GSM MAP, AMPS and ANSI 41 which is the core network
of GSM, the air interface and the corresponding system is backward 2G compatibility (Luo et al.

But contemporary communication requires to provide mobile user multimedia service over
broadband to enable full function of next generation mobile network based on internet technology.
As the 3G core network evolved from the 2G, it is not the optimal system that processing
Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) packets. Meanwhile, it cannot handle
data transmission with containing large images and information either. Therefore, a critical need is
to create a new telecommunication network with the optimal transmission of TCP / IP data packet,
it would be completely different from the 2G and 3G wireless network

The But for Test and Balance of Probabilities Essay
The but for test and balance of probabilities are used to determine whether the negligent act was
the cause of injury. The but for test is ideal for cases like Barnett where but for the negligence of
the doctor the claimant would have died because of the irreversible implications of ingesting
arsenic. More complex cases require the balance of probabilities to illustrate the chance of
recovery and the diminished prospects as demonstrated in Wilsher where the injury could have
been sustained from multiple causes. The House was unable to delegate liability due to unclear
evidence preventing causal link between any of the five possible causations proving inconclusive.

The European Court in Osman acknowledges the potential for policy concerns to be overridden in
certain circumstances which restrict a claimant s right to access the court. Ridenhalgh removed
blanket immunity for barristers who showed unjustifiable conduct, proving satisfactory as it did not
disturb the work ethics or restrict practice. Instead the immunity reduction ensured workers kept
within their duties realm and prevented actions ultra vires which guaranteed future claimants
received protection naturally expected from the profession. An Irish case Philip deemed liability for
the loss of chance in the absence of statistical data but through the misconduct of a solicitor who
tampered with documentation to hide his initial mistake. Illustrating the blanket immunity
perceived is fictional as misconduct is not tolerated. This judgement acts on reason of policy and
justice but this necessity to protect against misconduct prevents consistency of jurisprudence as the
range of medical negligence possibilities is indefinite and not quantifiable in a singular method
such as the balance of probabilities. Loss of chance dilutes causations without restriction. Philip is
distinctive due to gross misconduct and misdiagnosis whereas Gregg s case rests solely on
misdiagnosis; because of the lack of fact and dependence of hypothetical facts dependence on
statistical data is unavoidable. The inconsistency is

Dysfunctional Family
Dysfunctional Family
A dysfunctional family is a family, in which conflict, misbehavior and even abuse on the part of
individual members of the family occur continually, leading other members to accommodate such
actions. Dysfunctional families are most often a result of the alcoholism, substance abuse, or other
addictions of parents, parents untreated mental illnesses/defects or personality disorders, or the
parents emulating their own dysfunctional parents and dysfunctional family experiences.
Types of Dysfunctional Families

Criticism can be aimed at the child s looks, intelligence, capabilities, or basic value. Some verbal
abusers are very direct, while others use subtle put downs disguised as humor. Both types are just as
damaging.
Definitions of physical abuse vary widely. Many parents, at one time or another, have felt the urge
to strike their child. With physically abusive parents, however, the urge is frequent and little effort
is made to control this impulse. The Federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act defines
physical abuse as the infliction of physical injuries such as bruises, burns, welts, cuts, bone or skull
fractures; these are caused by kicking, punching, biting, beating, knifing, strapping, paddling, etc.
Striking a child has much to do with meeting the parent s emotional needs and nothing to do with
concern for the child; parents often erroneously justify the abuse as discipline intended to help the
child. Physically abusive parents can create an environment of terror for the child, particularly since
violence is often random and unpredictable. Abused children often feel anger. Children of abusive
parents have tremendous difficulties developing feelings of trust and safety even in their adult lives.
While parents may justify or rationalize verbal or physical abuse as discipline aimed at somehow
helping the child, there is no rationalization for sexual abuse. Sexual abuse is the most blatant
example of an adult abusing a child purely for that

Army Drones Essay
Many industries have included drones into their business. Delivery service, UPS and amazon are
testing drones to deliver packages faster. By just simply having someone control the aircraft with
a remote without moving locations is faster than having someone driving place to place to deliver
a package. Also, the sky has no traffic, thus avoiding all the people and cars on the ground. Some
other industries use the aircraft for aerial view of agricultureto quickly spot issues with crops;
architecture/construction to quickly create concepts of their projects; engineering for inspections;
environmental monitoring; creating or updating maps most notably Apple and Google and the
media for news coverage instead of the expensive helicopter. These are only a couple of the many
industries that have found ways to incorporate drones into their businesses. Drones allow
companies cut cost to complete task, fewer manpower per assignment, and allow for less time
spent on just one project. This will allow big or small companies to have a... Show more content on

Lust By Simon Blackburn Quotes
Lust: the seven deadly sins by Simon Blackburn is part of a seven book series covering the seven
deadly sins. In the book Blackburn takes a wide ranging, historical approach, discussing lust as
viewed by Aristophanes and Plato, lust in the light of the Stoic mistrust of emotion, and the
Christian fear of the flesh that catapulted lustto the level of deadly sin. He describes how
philosophical pessimists like Schopenhauer and Sartre contributed to our thinking about lust and
explores the false starts in understanding lust represented by Freud, Kinsey, and modern
evolutionary psychology. ( Lust. Google Books. Oxford University Press, n.d. Web. 1 May 2017. .)
The Author, Simon Blackburn relays all of the information and gives his opinion on what he is

An assumption could be made based off of how he views other philosophers and people he has
decided to write about but without any actual interaction it is hard to tell his personality toward
others. In the chapter introduction of the book he says It is not a task to undertake lightly, and I
have to ask questions of myself. Do I really want to draw aside the curtains and let light disperse the
decent night that thankfully veils our embarrassments? Am I to stand alongside the philosopher
Crates, the Cynic, who believing that nothing is shameful, openly copulated with his wife
Hipparchia? Certainly not, but part of the task is to know why not. (Blackburn, Simon.
Introduction. Lust: The Seven Deadly Sins. Oxford: Oxford UP, 2004. 4. Print.) This makes it
explicitly clear in the beginning of the book that Blackburn is going to take factual, historical
information, analyze it and give his opinions based on what he believes is

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay
The seventh commandment of the Ten Commandments states Thou shalt not commit adultery.
(Exodus 20:14).
Adultery, according to the Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary, is voluntary sexual intercourse
between a married man and someone other than his wife or between a married woman and
someone other than her husband. Some people may think that adultery is only an occurrence in the
21st century, but it also occurred frequently in the 1600s as well. For example, in The Scarlet Letter,
written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, a novel that was set in the 17th century tells the story of Hester
Prynne who was convicted of adultery with a man named Reverend Dimmesdale. Even though
adultery seems to be the most important theme throughout the novel, ... Show more content on

These literary elements help make the novel into one of the most profound written pieces of
literature of its time.
The author of The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne, was born into a Puritan family, as was
Hester Prynne, in the city of Salem Massachusetts on July 4, 1804. Hawthorne never fully had a
male head figure in his life because at the age of four, Hawthorne s father died in Surinam. His
dad worked full time as a ship captain. One of Hawthorne s fore fathers was a judge in the Salem
Witch Trials. Hawthorne shunned his family because of their involvement in the Salem Witch
Trials by adding the w in what should have been his last name, Hathorne. Adding the w
characterizes the relationship between Hester and the letter A . Hester knew that she could not
run away from the past, but Hawthorne let this problem torment him for the rest of his life.
Hawthorne, for the majority of his adult life, had to deal with the self imposed guilt of shunning
his own family, which he reflected in the characters of Reverend Dimmesdale, and Robert
Chillingworth. Hawthorne came across the files of Hester Prynne while working as a surveyor at
the Salem Custom House. These files triggered Hawthorne to write The Scarlet Letter. The years
following the publication of The Scarlet Letter were probably the happiest years of his life. At one

focuses on the attempted therapeutic, medicinal, recreational, etc. applications of LSD with the
goal of curing or helping to mitigate some other undesired effect. Use of LSD is not without its
own risks so a portion of this paper will also focus on potential problems with short/long term
LSD treatment applications. This paper is by no means cumulative or holistic in its approach to
this subject and seeks only to inform the reader on an aspect of legal applications of otherwise

For the most part LSD treatment plans ceased in the 1970s this was mainly due to the fact that
unregulated experiments involving highly hallucinogenic drugs on sometimes unwilling
participants became frowned upon and rightly so. LSD can be dangerous depending on the
dosage and back in the 50s and 60s researchers would just keep upping the dosages until they felt
they got the desired results. You can see how that could get morally and ethically confusing. The
first example this paper covers is a study published in 1957 involving the use of LSD on
psychoneurotic patients under day hospital conditions; the overall goal being to make these
psychoneurotic people more manageable on a day to day basis. According to the author of the
study, Dr. Joyce Martin, the patients selected for treatment had to meet certain criteria such as:
no prior psychotic episodes, a good personality and high intelligence. (Martin, 1957). It is
unclear if the patients in this study knew what was going to happen to them and it is also unclear
if these patients participated willingly. This was of course a time where strict ethics board did
not exist and patient consent/knowledge was not always required to conduct scientific
experiments. Regardless, the experiments themselves were simple: patient arrives at the hospital,
eats breakfast, is put into their own room, an initial dosage of 25 to 50 gamma of LSD was
administered, dosage is increased until desired effect is achieved, patients are monitored and
offered lunch which they often refused due to nausea and then the reaction was terminated by
administering Largactil. Results varied from the patients becoming more receptive to less
receptive. Patients were often reported to experience vivid past memories as well as saying they
saw themselves as being younger when looking at a

Essay about Social Media s Affect on Mixed Martial Arts
Introduction
In this research proposal, we aim to discuss the role social media has on the growth of Mixed
Martial Arts. This study was chosen because there is no getting around the fact that social media
has changed the way we communicate and interact. The biggest change is the sheer number of
people using social media websites and the interaction with each other.
The genre of MMA was chosen because it is a relatively new sport, but despite that, it has been
gaining grave amounts of publicity in the sporting world. Unlike other long established,
mainstream sports such as soccer and basketball, the sport of MMA only commenced
approximately 20 years ago, back in 1993. The power of social media has revolutionised the way

Although its negativity has simmered slightly throughout the years, it has not entirely been gone.
With that said, I believe recent advancement of web 2.0 and social media has a huge part to play
in the rapid development of MMA. In this research proposal, we aim to understand the different
arguments and opinions of this topic. Some ideas may be biased, but they stand firm to what they
believe in.
Research topic and field
The main research in the literature review will be broken down into two different fields, social
media and MMA. For social media, we will look into the various aspects of social media. Topics
such as social media marketing, advertising and how it integrates perfectly within a business
organization will be covered. We will also be covering the social media aspect of public relations
and how it helps organisations communicate with its public. As for MMA, we will understand
and study the history of MMA and how the sport has used social media to improve the
development of the sport. In the literature review, I would first start by giving a brief history of
MMA, how it all started, and subsequently go into the discourse of social media; the marketing and
advertising aspect, and how it has help the growth of MMA.

Housing For Veterans Essay
A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United
States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. Regardless of personal political
views, that is an honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember
that fact.
Data indicates that it takes years for the trauma associated with military combat to appear, hence the
name post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). After the Vietnam War it took nine to twelve years
before veterans began showing up at homeless shelters in large numbers. It s unfortunate that ANY
veteran who we reposed special trust and confidence in would someday find themselves living on
the street at ANY point in their life.

Tackling a project of this magnitude will require several phases of execution. The phases are as
follows: Non for profit (NFP) entity start up, Financing, Acquisition, Renovation, and Management.
PHASE ONE: NFP START UP
The first step we need to take is to establish a NFP entity with the primary mission of providing
stable housing for up to 24 months to military veterans. The ability to provide this type of housing
for veterans via a NFP entity will enable the organization to be eligible for a number of government
funded grants such as the Veteran Administration s Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem
Program and the Illinois Energy Grant. (2)
The estimated cost to establish a NFP is $3,300. This price includes but is not limited to assistance
with the development of mission statement, narrative of core programs and services, a three year
operational budget with financials, formation of NFP bylaws, articles of incorporation filing, the
preparation and submission of the 501(c) 3 application and various identification codes. (Note: Start

PHASE TWO: FINANCING This project will require a large amount of money for both capital
and operations. From a capital standpoint our end state is to build a facility that provides: 1)
supportive housing for up to 10 homeless Veterans in need of immediate and intensive services; and
2) affordable housing for up

Persuasive Essay On Driving
On October 6th, 2011 I was scheduled at 8:45 am to take my driver s license exam. I had been
preparing for this day the moment I received my temps six months prior. Instead of my
grandfather drive me to his home from high school every day, I demanded to start driving us
home. When my mom would come home late at night to pick me up from my grandparents
house to take me to my actual home I would drive us too. I was relentless when it came to
practicing driving. On late nights, I would take my future car, a 98 two door ford to a soybean
field behind my house and practice parallel parking. Although this may seem like overkill,
driving was something I wanted more than anything. You see, there were many reasons I
wanted to drive so bad, one, because of the freedom it would give me and two, I wanted to be
able to see something I had put so much time and effort into become a reality. It was not the
same as studying for a test, it was a life skill that would come in handy almost every day of my
life. At this point my life was not how I had pictured it being, and when I compared it to others
in my peer circle I realized how much of my life I had missed out on due to my father s parenting
style, my mother s inability to stand up for herself, and a series of other unfortunate events that
never seemed to let up. Up until the second grade I thought all kids went through what I went
through, dealing with an incarcerated father, who, when out of jail would be drunk for long periods

The International Monetary Fund Staff
Globalization has become much more prevalent in modern times. According to the International
Monetary Fund staff (2000), it is defined as the increased integration of economies around the
world, or movement of labor and technology across borders. Countries are connected through
globalization, and depending on personal opinion, this can make the world flat or spiky . Florida
states that globalization makes the world spiky because certain locations attract the top talent, thus
leaving others behind. Whereas a flat world, according to Zhao, focuses on the lack of preparation

ID #2: Individual, Institutional and Structural Discrimination Discrimination takes place in many
different forms and is often defined as an intent to treat an individual differently because of a group
that they belong to. Pincus defines three different types of discrimination: Individual, Institutional,
and Structural. Individual discrimination is when one person or a small group of people
discriminate, institutional involves the discrimination that can be found with institutions
themselves, and structural discrimination often seems unintentional. Usually in institutional, there
is a dominant group in control of the institution that discriminates against a minority. It is not rare
to see discrimination occur in education, even though as a society we wish it was a thing of the
past. The discrimination can create vastly different learning environments and experiences for each
student or for varying groups of students, and this can result in an education gap.
Individual discrimination can be seen if a staff member at the school treats a student differently
because of the group they belong to, institutional discrimination can be seen if someone ranked
high in the district gives orders to treat those of a certain group differently, and structural
discrimination can be seen in areas where you have to live within a

Comparison Of Erikson And Kohlberg s Theory
Erik Erikson and Lawrence Kohlberg are famous theorist who have contributed a lot to the nursing
profession. Erikson s theory is about psychosocial development whereas Kohlberg s theory is about
moral development. Erikson has eight stages, that he believed were accomplished at different
periods of life, in his theory of psychosocial development starting with; trust versus mistrust during
infancy; autonomy versus shame or doubt experienced at a toddler age; initiative versus inferiority
during preschool and school aged period; identityversus identity confusion during adolescence;
intimacy versus isolation experienced as a young adult; generativity versus stagnation experienced
as a middle aged adult; and lastly integrity versus despair... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Another stage of Erikson s theory that is similar to stages of Kohlberg s theory is identity versus
identity confusion where the adolescent learns the essence of what makes them who they are
from bringing together everything they have learnt and what kind of person they will be.
Kohlberg s stages that are similar is the conventional stage of good boy/ nice girl morality where
the school aged child follows rules to be accepted by those around them, and the
postconventional stage of social contract orientation where the adolescent will follow society
customs for the benefit of others. These three stages are closely associated as someone s identity
is usually shaped by the customs of society. People will do what is expected of them to be
accepted which in turn contributes to their identity. The last similarity between the two theories is
Erikson s stage of generativity versus stagnation where the middle aged adult broadens their
concern from themselves to the community and world, and Kohlberg s postconventional stage of
universal ethical principles where the adult s actions are determined by their own ethical
principles and standards of behaviour. These two stages complement each other as a person cannot
have concerns for the community and world if they do not have a sense of their own beliefs and
values as a foundation. A person needs to know what they value to then go on and have concerns

The Rorschach Inkblot Test Essay
The Rorschach inkblot test is one of the most widely known psychological projective test of
personality, and the most controversial. In general, projective tests are psychoanalytically based
tools that assist clients to reveal their unconscious conflicts via responses towards ambiguous
stimuli, and can also help psychologists to determine psychological disorders. Specifically, the
Rorschach allows individuals to interpret a series of abstract inkblots based on their emotional and
cognitive function, as well as interaction (Barlow Durand, 2009). Apparently it was Leonardo da
Vinci the first who realized a possible similarity between inkblot responses and personality, as he
had his students draw paintings while looking at ambiguous... Show more content on

Rorschach stressed the need for further experimentation and study but he died early in 1922 at
the age of 37 before achieving it and developing his method of systematic interpretation (Kaplan,
Saccuzzo, 2008). A Rorschach stimuli can be generated by dropping ink on a piece of paper and
folding it in the middle, but still the cards were not random but selected out of thousands that H.
Rorschach created. The test consists five black and white symmetrical inkblots with different
shades of gray, two black/gray with red stains, and three multicolored. Each inkblot is printed on
a separate white card, approximately 18x24 cm in size (Kaplan, Saccuzzo, 2008). To administer
the test, an examiner, trained in the field of psychology, presents one inkblot at a time and the
person he assesses says what each card portrays based on his emotional, and intellectual state. The
examiner keeps notes of clients verbal interpretation as well as his nonverbal behavioral responses,
such as silence, facial expressions, and gestures. Next, he asks the client based on which
perceptions, internal (personality) and/or external (inkblot) characteristics he utilized or was
influenced by in order to respond, and once again the administrator keeps notes. Afterwords, the
responses are categorized and evaluated based on client s distinguished observations and/or
movements derived from the cards,

Transnationalism And Immigration
One year ago, I found myself sitting in a strange and mesmerizing world that was hard to
comprehend. As I sat in the Charlotte D. International Airport, I was completely bewildered by the
inundation of new inputs. Growing up in Guyana, migrating to South Florida when I was nine, and
living in a multicultural environment, I was sure I had experienced everything the worldhad to offer.
Traveling would surely, only, be an extension of living in South Florida, I thought. Yet, I felt like a
foreigner sitting within my nation s own boarder.
As an immigrant to the United States, growing up in the Miami metropolitan area was forgiving for
an assimilating nine year old. Miami, with its diversity of representation, was contrasted against
American Airline s advertisements that portrayed the current hegemonic state of America
successful white males and white families.
Coupled with my experiences as an immigrant and after taking Marginalization in Israel with
Professor Dekel, I became increasingly fascinated by the study of transnationalism, identity, and the
privilege of inclusion. Through the class, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Historical Accuracy Of Henry Iv Plays By Shakespeare
Name Instructor Course Date Historical Accuracy in Henry IV Plays by Shakespeare Research
shows that Shakespeare s historical plays do not offer good sources for accurate rendering of
historical events. The details of place of issues such as place, time, and personality are all
subject to a great deal of artistic license just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the
past. However, to some extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his
famous works and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate
sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for Henry IV plays is
Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael Holinshed, the 1587 edition.
Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities and motivations of important historical
figures as well as much detail regarding Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source
used by Shakespeare in historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of
Lancaster and York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of
Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he had with
Hotspur. Shakespeare followed and used Daniel in portraying Hotspur as a much younger person
at the period of rebellion though history shows that he was older than King Henry IV was. Both
Daniel and Shakespeare use the battle of Shrewsbury as an occasion for the prince to prove his
valor as well martial

Alaska Is A Great Wealth Of Resources Essay
Alaska is home to a great wealth of resources, including but not limited to, various types of
valuable minerals, a large and populous variety of wildlife which provide furs, and large deposits
of natural gas. The surrounding ocean provides it s bounty as well. A thriving fishing and crabbing
community makes its home along the various cities along the coast of Alaska. Without these natural
resources, Alaska would have a failing economy in which the local government would fail to
function due to the lack of revenue.
Alaska is the largest state in the entire United States of America, and has one of the largest
economies. Despite this fact, it is also one of the least populated. This is perhaps due to the harsh,
cold climate, the likes of which are not seen in the rest of the continental United States. Alaska,
previously occupied by Russia, was purchased by the American government for the sum of 7.2
million US Dollars in 1867. It became an official state in the union on January 3rd 1959.
(Hutchinson, Par. 24)
For some intrepid souls, this is a land of opportunity. Petroleum, arguably the most extensive and
valuable natural resource available in Alaska, accounts for approximately 80% of Alaska s state
revenue. (Hutchinson, Par. 21) Alaska is unique in this way alone. Most other state governments in
the US derive their income from taxes of its citizens and businesses, in the form of property taxes,
income taxes, sales taxes, and the like. On the other hand, these types of

The Primitive Consistency Theory Is Heider s Balance Theory
Cognitive consistency theories suggest that individuals try to see their natural surroundings in ways
that are basic and uncomplicated. Early consistency philosophers formulated theories of conflict,
retention, and bigotry for indecisiveness by those with a controlling disposition. At the core of
subjective consistency theories, is the suspicion that individuals are propelled to seek coherent
attitudes, thoughts, beliefs, values, behaviors, and feelings. On the off chance that these are
conflicting, they will create a tension state in the individual, and rouse the person to decrease this
strain. People lessen this pressure, as indicated by consistency theories, by making their relevant
cognizance consistent. The primitive consistency theory is Heider s balance theory. This strategy is
correlated with an individual s view of the connections between himself (p) and (normally) two
different components in a triadic structure. In Heider s detailing, alternate components are
frequently someone else (o) and another article (e.g., an issue, object, a value). The approaches in
the structure are assigned as either positive or negative. The objective of surveying the structure of
a triad is to determine whether the connections (mentalities) between the performing artists and
alternate components are balanced, or consistent. An adjusted triad happens when every one of the
connections are positive, or two are negative and one is positive (i.e., two individuals have a
negative state

Scuba Diving And Physics Of The Underwater World
Scuba Diving and Physics
Introduction
Exploration of the underwater world is fascinating; both from an aesthetic and scientific point of
view. One must have a passion for adventure and the knowledge and skills that come with a diving
certification. Diving with a Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, S.C.U.B.A., remains
the ultimate way in which we can experience this wondrous environment and explore the scientific
principles behind humans delving into the expanse of the largest unexplored area on our planet.
The application of key fundamental tenets of science allows us to venture into a world in which we
are, without question, out of our element. The development of modern day scuba equipment is a
compelling one.

A significant breakthrough was not seen until 1943. Captain Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan
finished development of the Aqua Lung. The Aqua Lung used a similar on demand valve that
drew from two to three cylinders that each contained over 2500 psi of breathable gas. Some years
later, the Lambertsen Amphibious Respiratory System was completed. This was later named
S.C.U.B.A. This was developed and used by the military of several countries. It remains in use by
the military and civilians all over the world. (2)
The invention of scuba permitted divers freedom of movement and granted them access to deeper
depths due to the longer dive times that it allowed. Without the need for very expensive support
devices in order to dive with contained air, the cost to dive in such a manner decreased drastically,
which gave rise to the community of recreational scuba divers.
Discussion
Although buoyancy is a concern for scuba divers; the main focus, and science, behind scuba diving
lies in pressure. On land, air is exerting a constant, imperceptible pressure on our bodies. This
pressure is not felt because the human body is comprised mainly of liquid. This liquid evenly
distributes the pressure throughout the body. There are three air spaces in the human body. These
are the lungs, sinuses and ears. The air in these spaces is equal to the pressure of

Acute Stress Disorder ( Asd )
Within weeks after a traumatizing event, one may develop an anxiety disorder called acute stress
disorder (ASD). Acute stress disorder is a psychiatric condition characterized by acute stress
responses that may last from 2 days to 4 weeks do to a traumatic life event. Following the
experience of a traumatic event, an evaluation of ASD requires that a person experiences an
extreme emotional reaction to a stress contributor, along with receiving symptoms that lead to
impairment or distress (Shevlin, Hyland, Elklit, 2014). Acute stress is the most common form of
stress. It comes from insistence and pressures of the recent past and upcoming demands and
pressures of the near future. Acute stress can be thrilling and exciting in small measures, but having
too much can be exhausting (FeldmanHall et al., 2015). Acute stress disorder (ASD) was
introduced into DSM IV. Scientists wanted to be able to describe acute stress reactions that takes
place in the initial month after dealing with a traumatic event and before the possibility of
diagnosing post traumatic stress disorder. They wanted to be able to identify trauma survivors in
the acute phase who are high risk for post traumatic stress disorder (Bryant., 1999). Scientists
created a review that considers ASD in relation to other approaches to Acute stress responses, to
critique and discuss ASD in relation to Adjustment Disorder. After completing the review the
scientist found the evidence suggests that ASD does not adequately

Again we need to look at how the Bible uses these words. In John 17:3 it says that This is eternal
life that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (New
American Standard Bible, 1995 revised). In that verse it talks about how having eternal life is
to also knowing God. Also only the believer is known by Jesus (John 10:27; Gal. 4:8 9; Romans
8:29). The unbeliever is not known by Jesus (Matt. 7:21 23). In every verse except for one, God
says that he knows only the believers. Knowing this is a kind of salvation knowing, it is a kind of
knowing that God gives to the Christians. He knows them and knows that they are saved. The
unbelievers are not known and therefore are not saved. It would seem to be consistent with
scripture to say that ...as I m fully known would refer to salvation relationship between the
Christians and Jesus Christ. When the return of Christ comes, we as Christians will see him face to
face. Another argument is that present day tongues are further revelation and then must be equal to
scripture and ought to be included into the Bible. But since the Bible has nothing to add to it, the
gift of tongues must no longer be valid. The problem with this argument is that faulty because
recognizes revelation that cannot be added into the Bible. 1 Cor. 14:26 talks about the church in

Franchising Is The Single Most Successful Marketing...
Franchising is the wave of the future, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce. John
Naisbitt writes in Megatrends that Franchising is the single most successful marketing concept
ever. Nowadays, McDonald s Corporation has 36,368 restaurants around the world. McDonald s
has established its success based on a widespread practise in capitalistic societies, known as
franchising. Many entrepreneurs (the franchisees) have chosen to acquire a franchise to access the
knowledge, the trademark, and the processes of a corporation (the franchisor); in order to sell a
product, or provide a service under the business name. In return, depending on the franchise
contract, the franchisee usually pays additional money for the start up of his company, and annual
licensing fees. Franchises are extremely popular among entrepreneurs who wish to operate in highly
competitive industries, such as fast food industry. In fact, franchises biggest advantage is
trademarks. Through franchising, entrepreneurs gain access to an established company s brand
name, already known by the customers. Also, the franchisor often provides assistance before and
during the life of the franchise. Of course, success is not guaranteed, and work and talent have to be
invested to attain profits. Many americans have achieved wealthiness through franchising. Thus,
despite the fact that some entrepreneurs who attempted this endeavor have not been so fortunate,
and eventually declared bankruptcy, I strongly believe

Companies Are Treating The Animals We Will Ultimately Consume
In America, our everyday lives tend to revolve around our food choices. The average consumer
veers towards the quick and easy food options. Without prior knowledge, an individual could be
consuming contaminated meat products that were produced on a factory farm. Since the 1960 s,
factory farming has accounted for over 99% of the meat sold in the United States (Zacharias,
2011). The move towards large, factory farms saves meat industry millions of dollars a day. These
farms pose a huge risk to public health and environmental safety. Currently, four major companies
produce 85% of all the beef in the United States (Bernice, 2014). It is important to examine how
these companies are treating the animals we will ultimately consume. Knowing what these animals
are fed, the conditions they are kept in and the effect that these factory farms have on the
environment is essential for our health. But are there other options other than Big Ag corporations?
Smaller, family owned farms might be the key to better nutrition and a smaller, ecofriendly
footprint. Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) are defined as agricultural operations
where animals are kept and raised in confined situations (Foundation). The EPA estimates that there
are over 450,000 CAFOs in the United States (Humane Society). These operations can hold over

The Importance Of Music In Education
Music has always been and still is one of the greatest heritage that we have as a human being, that
s the reasons why people called it the universal language of humankind. No matter where we are
music is always there around us and that show s how important music is for us human beings.
Without music, we don t have the way to express our feeling with, technically life will be dulled
without any music.
By saying that, we need to understand that music is one of the essential tools for children
development and it also helps their brain function. Through music, children learn how to
communicate their thoughts and their feelings. According to (Cecil Fizdale 1991 in The Arts and
Early Childhood) state that Children s ability and need to express feelings fully and freely with
their bodies makes movement and dance a vital part of any educational program.
Young children love to sing, they love hearing their own voices by experimenting with different
melody, tone, and rhythm. That s one of many ways younger children learn how to play. When a
softer and soothing music is playing during the day, children tend to be more relaxed and quiet.
Music is a primary experience for us human. This is why music should be the important subject to
have in early childhood curriculum.
Greata (2006) talk about the ideas of Edwin Gordon, a researcher in music education, tells us that:
if a child is not stimulated in a particular area such as music, she will lose some of her natural

For example, Waddel et al (2007) see diversity as differences among people in age, gender, race,
ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background and capabilities/disabilities.
Schwind, Das, and Wagar, (2007, cited in Panaccio Waxin 2010) categorise those differences by
Waddel et al as core dimensions of diversity. Moreover, Schwind, Das, and Wagar (2007 cited in
Panaccio Waxin 2010) also add secondary dimensions of diversity which include education, status,
language, income levels, etc. Nevertheless, McMahon (2010), Burgess, French and Strachan (2010,
p. 78) argue that diversity itself remains an unclear concept.
2.2Approaches to Managing Diversity
There are many approaches to managing diversity. According to Burgess, French, and Strachan
(2010), there are two main approaches to managing diversity, namely productive diversity which is
based on business case for diversity management and valuing diversity which is based on human
resource or organisational development approach. However, O Leary and Weathington (2006)
believe that organisations must go beyond the business case for diversity management if they want
to use the existing diversity effectively. In addition, according to Das (1998, cited in Panaccio and
Waxin 2010), there are 4 steps in managing diversity. They are the identification of current and ideal
future state, the analysis of present systems and procedures, the changing of policies, procedures,

Pop Culture Summary
Popular forms of entertainment have always existed. Popular culture exists not just in the recent
hundred years, but also in the ancient world. Marcel Danesi wrote Popular Culture: Introductory
Perspectives to introduce different way of existence of the modern day popular culture, in order to
open up debates on the pop culture. There are twelve chapters in this book, the first three chapters
are providing an overview of popular culture. The following eight chapters are depth discussion
on the forms of popular culture, including the advent of the media, the relationship between
media and pop culture, also the impact of different forms of popular culture on the society. The
last chapter is a conclusion on the previous eight chapters, also a prospect of popular culture on
the Internet. Marcel Danesi raised a question What is pop culture? at the beginning which is
linked with another question Who owns pop culture? , as we know pop culture is populist,
unpredictable, and ephemeral, so how to determine who is the owner of pop culture. The fact that
popular culture is created by people, but also for people, so popular culture represents the taste of
a generation. In the following eight chapters, Marcel Danesi provided comprehensive information
about the forms of popular culture, also stated his views towards different forms of popular culture.
However, there is common feature regarding the forms of pop culture. Marcel Danesi stated that

What the Stamp Act Really Meant Essay
The central thesis of my paper is the Stamp Act and how it was brought about and what it meant
to the American Colonies. As well as why it was necessary. February 6th, 1765 George
Grenville came forth in Parliament to propose his Stamp Bill. Not knowing that it would forever
be a significant part of history. The Act was a tax on every piece of printed paper the colony
used. Including, legal documents, licenses, and even playing cards. The tax also had to be paid
with British currency. Colonial paper money was not valid. This made it more difficult for the
colonists to even pay the tax. The actual cost of the Stamp Act was pretty small in fact. However it
was the principle that upset the colonists. The way the British saw it was that it... Show more

Except this method had never worked before and Great Britain had already had success with the
Stamp Act method in Great Britain. So it made more sense to them to impose the Stamp Act.
However it did not make much sense to the colonists because they argued that their rights as
Englishmen were being taken away because they were being taxed without representation.
Benjamin Franklin said it best when he said That it is suppos d an undoubted Right of
Englishmen not to be taxed but by their own Consent given thro their Representatives. That the
Colonies have no Representatives in Parliament. Patrick Henry is quoted as saying that the
Stamp Act was the very beginning of the Revolutionary war. Patrick Henry was one of the first
colonists to openly attack the Stamp Act, he compared George III to Julius Caesar as well as
Charles I. Patrick Henry was opposed to the Stamp Act as soon as it was passed. He wrote seven
resolutions for the Stamp Act all of which were very radical. These resolutions were published
throughout the colonies. These resolutions really started the talk of independence from Great
Britain. One of which was Resolved, That the first Adventurers and Settlers of this his majesty s
colony and Dominion of Virginia brought with them, and transmitted to their Posterity, and all other
his Majesty s subjects since inhabiting in this his Majesty s said Colony, all the Liberties,

Crown Of Thorns Starfish Essay
The Crown of Thorns Starfish robot (COTSbot) developed by the Queensland University of
Technology will kill the crown of thorns starfish (COTS) which is responsible for destroying
about 50% of Australia s Great Barrier Reef, Discovery News reports. COTSbot, which operates
autonomously, recently performed well on trial test and its creators plan to deploy it in December.
Until then, the robot needs to be tested on the reef. HOW IT DETECTS THE PREY In an
interview with the BBC, COTSbot researcher Matthew Dunbabin explained how the robot operates,
and how it detects starfish. The core of the detection is a state of the art computer vision and
machine learning system, Dunbabin said. This system has been trained to recognise COTS [crown

One of the chief tasks of programming the robot was giving it the ability to identify COTS as
separate from other sea life and strike it accordingly. During a single session at sea, the
COTSbot can give out 200 of the poisonous injections. Its starfish killing capability has led the
AAU to call it a mechanical hitman . In an interview with the Australian news agency, Dunbabin
said It will never out compete a human diver in terms of sheer numbers of injections but it will
be more persistent . WHY THE ROBOT WAS MADE Overpopulation by any species can have
negative effects on any ecosystem, and an explosion in the starfish population led to the species
eating away at the Great Barrier Reef. And as the COTSbot s university website says, the
movement of nutrients to sea from land in the area since the 1960s has accelerated outbreaks of
COTS to the detriment of the reef. According to Popular Science, Dunbabin began work on
COTSbot ten years ago. Back then, however, the best usable poison known to them required 20
injections to kill a single starfish. Since then, they ve discovered that using bile (which the robot
currently uses) injections is a much more efficient method of killing them. CHECK OUT THE

Another way I took advantage to build a business network is to be an active, vocal member on
online forums, especially those that pertain to our particular business.
I do delegate some people by voting, whose take care of our image.
Usually, they deal with post messages in online forums that concern our own business in any way.
Their comments need to be helpful and genuine to others (or they won t visit our business website).
That means, we can link back to our business website here and there, but not constantly, as that can
be annoying .
In other words, we do some promoting and business networking on online message boards and
forums.
People from other fields of business can easily have contact with us , and better socialize with
themselves.
To build client relationships..
We should be nice for our customers, everybody knows that people don t like to do business with
grumpy and irritable people.
We considered, what we can give our clients and our network that will help them grow or help
them solve a problem.
We always approach relationships in a generous, giving, and positive manner.
Other way to build client relationships we need to be honest, and to show them our trust.

Poetry Compare And Contrast Essay
In the history of literature, different aspects are prevalent during the different time periods. The
Victorian poet Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote in the nineteenth century in England, which was a
time when the literature reacted against science. During this era, most people in England
believed in God being the creator. Conversely, Robert Frost is a modern poet that wrote in
America during the twentieth century. He has been described as the purest classical poet of
America (Browning and Cousin 243). Many authors throughout this time period rebelled against
religion in their writing. The poems Pied Beauty by Hopkins and Design by Frost are both
characteristic of the time periods in which the authors wrote them. These two poems have
distinguishable similarities and differences, and the main aspects of these poems that have
similarities and differences is their imagery and theme. The two poems Pied Beauty and Design
have many similarities in their imagery. Both of these poems contain natural imagery in great
detail, and the imagery focuses on the unusual things about nature. A vivid example from Beauty
is I found a dimpled spider, fat and white (Frost 1). В№ This quote describes the appearance of
the spider that is one of the characters that Frost includes in this poem. An example from Pied
Beauty is For skies of couple coloras a brindled cow (Hopkins 2). ВІ Hopkins is painting a picture
of what he believes is beautiful in nature, which includes a

would be beneficial to do some job shadowing for this career. During my spring semester of my
senior year, I will do student teaching and should be looking at schools I might want to do that at. I

Children in Hospice
Research suggests that every year there are between 100,000 to 150,000 children born in the
United States with a genetic disorder or defect. This represents approximately 20% of infant deaths
each year. However, many of these children live to age well beyond the expectation, and some are
enrolled in hospice. According to Armstrong Daily and Zarbock (2001), The concept of hospice
today is applied to patients who are traveling through the final stages of their lives in effect seeking
shelter and comfort. Hence, the main focus of this program is to prepare families for the death of a
loved one. Although accepting these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even when hospitalized, parents must be prepared to fight for the right of their child to live
because many medical professionals give the impression that any effort would be useless. Many
parents are even willing to care for the child within the home but there are no resources available
to assist with care other than nursing. This should be a key area for concern as the patient is
expected to live six months in most cases and it is more than enough time to prepare for the child s
death. When that time has passed and the child is still progressing, one is only left to wonder the
next step. At this point, time spent creating memories with family should be top priority.
It is my recommendation that the health care community implement a network of resources for
parents who are not willing to accept and grieve but are willing to accept and fight to prolong the
life of their child. Resources and information should be readily available to assist with any type of
services that would bring relief for situations ranging from housing to therapy. Medical
professionals also should be required to take a course in patient relations giving some insight into
the emotional turmoil that many parents experience. This probably would change some parent s
perception of the medical profession because discretion and empathy would be used when
providing information about the child s condition. Any feelings of hopelessness may be eliminated
and replaced with feelings of relief

We need to make sure we are getting collateral material into the hands of the
executives. Me personally, as a practice manager I am more inclined to refer to a facility for
rehabilitation and home health agency when I can develop a trusting relationship with the
representative. We deal with a lot of Home Health and Ostomy Nurses, I want to make sure my
patients are taken care of and that the doctors are being informed of any changes with the patient.
I want to get a phone call immediately of any changes, not reading about it in a daily progress
note. As for payers, this is a tricky relationship to build. Many health organizations try to build
relationship with their area representative with the insurance carriers they participate with. I
know, when I was doing credentialing for a health organization I built a relationship with the
area representative to help me out with any credentialing issues and contract issues. By building
this relationship, when issues did arise I was able to speak with the representative. I was also
able to put the patients mind at ease by letting them know I was speaking to a direct
representative with their insurance company and not just a customer service representative. Also
by building this relationship, I am better able to address any questions or concerns regarding
specific plans without having to direct them to the 800 number on the back of their card.

Blurred Lines In J. C. Burke s The Story Of Tom Brennan
In life, the line that separates victims from perpetrators is as clear as a window pane, but in some
situations that window can crack, causing damage and danger. A victim is someone who has been
harmed, or worse, due to a crime or accident. A perpetrator is a person who has committed a crime,
either accidently or purposely. Three stories that capture this blurred line are Shattered, an
Australian Story episode on ABC s website, The Story of Tom Brennan, a story written by
Australian author J.C.Burke, and In My Little Town, another Australian Story episode. They all
share the common theme of having a blurred line between victimand perpetrator.

Iago Character Analysis
William Shakespeare was born in 1564. Very little is known about his personal life but he is one
of the most well known authors in history. One of his famous works is Othello. There are many
key characters in the play but there is one that plays a major key role in what happens and that is
Iago. He is a supposed to be Othellos best friend but as the play goes on, his true colors begin to
show. No other character can even come close to his evil. Most of the characters in the play have a
reason for what they do. Iagolies and manipulates the characters of the play because he is a very
ruthless man.
Shakespeare does a very good job in showing what kind of person Iago is right from the
beginning of the play. The reader begins to realize this before any of the characters in the play
do. I believe he did this so the reader will begin to see how evil Iago is yet how unjustified his
reasoning is. Iago is the main reason there is conflict in Othello. I feel as if he had not entered
the play Othello would have married Desdemona and they would have lived happily ever after.
Right from the beginning of the play to the very end he causes conflicts. He is responsible for the
deaths of Othello, Desdemona, Emilia, Cassio, and Roderigo. Which happen to all be the main
characters. All the problems he causes are through lies, manipulation, and a deep unknown hate.
Some of his hate is fueled by jealousy and revenge. The ironic part is that he wants to be known as
honest Iago . Every act

  • 2. Debate Lawyer Research Paper Three Reasons You May Need to Consult with a Probate Attorney as an Executor of Your Parent s Estate If you have been named the executor of your parent s estate and their has been a death, you may think that the process of probate is straight forward, so there is no reason to involve a probate attorney. But there are several reasons why this is not a good idea. The following are only a few of the significant reasons you should consider speaking with a probate lawyer. You have siblings who expect a certain inheritance This can be a big problem if your parent s estate was not divided up equally between the children. It is not uncommon for a man or woman to leave different portions of his or her wealth to different children. If these children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Qualified experts will be needed to place an appraisal on the worth of the asset. A probate attorney can advise you on how best to go about the sale of an entire business or a share of ownership, so there is less of a chance of a problem developing over the proceeds. Your parent s estate is worth less than the outstanding debts In this case, the state where your parent resided likely has rules as to which creditor gets paid first and how much. An attorney will know exactly how this is done, so legal assistance is the only route to take. Also, you need to consider taxes as well. If your parent s estate owes taxes, these will need to be paid first. After this, if the estate is still worth less than the total outstanding debt, you need a probate lawyer. Keep in mind that much of the probate process is governed by state law, so the specific advice for your situation will relate directly to the particular rules of the state. In some states there is a simple probate process, but this is only for estates that do not involve any of the above situations. If you have any questions about the probate process, you can always consult with an attorney to simply get information that you need. After this, you can decide if you need the services of a probate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Zhao (10810164) University of Technology, Sydney minghui.zhao@student.uts.edu.au Lecturer: Gay Valerie 13th September, 2010 1. Introduction Since contemporary communication came into daily life, people always keep seeking unrestricted communication at all time. Mobile telecommunication satisfied people s demand with the first generation (1G) and the second generation (2G). In the wake of development in multimedia and internet, most of telecommunication mobile networks operators have offered the third generation (3G) to the customers to replace 2G over the past two years. Currently, many ICT professionals and research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The core technology of 4G is orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) which belongs to Multi Carrier Modulation (MCM). It divides assigned channel into orthogonal sub channels, modulating and transmitting on each sub channel of narrowband (AceГ±a 2005). 3.2 Telecommunication system structure 3G is based on cellular network (shown in Figure 1), the core network of 3G is developed from GSM MAP, AMPS and ANSI 41 which is the core network of GSM, the air interface and the corresponding system is backward 2G compatibility (Luo et al. 2003). As the 3G core network evolved from the 2G, it is not the optimal system that processing Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) packets. Meanwhile, it cannot handle data transmission with containing large images and information either. Therefore, a critical need is to create a new telecommunication network with the optimal transmission of TCP / IP data packet, it would be completely different from the 2G and 3G wireless network

The but for test is ideal for cases like Barnett where but for the negligence of the doctor the claimant would have died because of the irreversible implications of ingesting arsenic. More complex cases require the balance of probabilities to illustrate the chance of recovery and the diminished prospects as demonstrated in Wilsher where the injury could have been sustained from multiple causes. The European Court in Osman acknowledges the potential for policy concerns to be overridden in certain circumstances which restrict a claimant s right to access the court. Ridenhalgh removed blanket immunity for barristers who showed unjustifiable conduct, proving satisfactory as it did not disturb the work ethics or restrict practice. Instead the immunity reduction ensured workers kept within their duties realm and prevented actions ultra vires which guaranteed future claimants received protection naturally expected from the profession. An Irish case Philip deemed liability for the loss of chance in the absence of statistical data but through the misconduct of a solicitor who tampered with documentation to hide his initial mistake. Illustrating the blanket immunity perceived is fictional as misconduct is not tolerated. This judgement acts on reason of policy and justice but this necessity to protect against misconduct prevents consistency of jurisprudence as the range of medical negligence possibilities is indefinite and not quantifiable in a singular method such as the balance of probabilities. Loss of chance dilutes causations without restriction. Philip is distinctive due to gross misconduct and misdiagnosis whereas Gregg s case rests solely on misdiagnosis; because of the lack of fact and dependence of hypothetical facts dependence on statistical data is unavoidable. Criticism can be aimed at the child s looks, intelligence, capabilities, or basic value. Some verbal abusers are very direct, while others use subtle put downs disguised as humor. Both types are just as damaging. Definitions of physical abuse vary widely. Many parents, at one time or another, have felt the urge to strike their child. With physically abusive parents, however, the urge is frequent and little effort is made to control this impulse. The Federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act defines physical abuse as the infliction of physical injuries such as bruises, burns, welts, cuts, bone or skull fractures; these are caused by kicking, punching, biting, beating, knifing, strapping, paddling, etc. Striking a child has much to do with meeting the parent s emotional needs and nothing to do with concern for the child; parents often erroneously justify the abuse as discipline intended to help the child. Physically abusive parents can create an environment of terror for the child, particularly since violence is often random and unpredictable. Abused children often feel anger. Children of abusive parents have tremendous difficulties developing feelings of trust and safety even in their adult lives. Some other industries use the aircraft for aerial view of agricultureto quickly spot issues with crops; architecture/construction to quickly create concepts of their projects; engineering for inspections; environmental monitoring; creating or updating maps most notably Apple and Google and the media for news coverage instead of the expensive helicopter. In the book Blackburn takes a wide ranging, historical approach, discussing lust as viewed by Aristophanes and Plato, lust in the light of the Stoic mistrust of emotion, and the Christian fear of the flesh that catapulted lustto the level of deadly sin. He describes how philosophical pessimists like Schopenhauer and Sartre contributed to our thinking about lust and explores the false starts in understanding lust represented by Freud, Kinsey, and modern evolutionary psychology. • 12. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay The seventh commandment of the Ten Commandments states Thou shalt not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14). Adultery, according to the Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary, is voluntary sexual intercourse between a married man and someone other than his wife or between a married woman and someone other than her husband. Some people may think that adultery is only an occurrence in the 21st century, but it also occurred frequently in the 1600s as well. For example, in The Scarlet Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, a novel that was set in the 17th century tells the story of Hester Prynne who was convicted of adultery with a man named Reverend Dimmesdale. Even though adultery seems to be the most important theme throughout the novel, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These literary elements help make the novel into one of the most profound written pieces of literature of its time. The author of The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne, was born into a Puritan family, as was Hester Prynne, in the city of Salem Massachusetts on July 4, 1804. Hawthorne never fully had a male head figure in his life because at the age of four, Hawthorne s father died in Surinam. His dad worked full time as a ship captain. One of Hawthorne s fore fathers was a judge in the Salem Witch Trials. Hawthorne shunned his family because of their involvement in the Salem Witch Trials by adding the w in what should have been his last name, Hathorne. Adding the w characterizes the relationship between Hester and the letter A . Hester knew that she could not run away from the past, but Hawthorne let this problem torment him for the rest of his life. Hawthorne, for the majority of his adult life, had to deal with the self imposed guilt of shunning his own family, which he reflected in the characters of Reverend Dimmesdale, and Robert Chillingworth. Hawthorne came across the files of Hester Prynne while working as a surveyor at the Salem Custom House. These files triggered Hawthorne to write The Scarlet Letter. The years following the publication of The Scarlet Letter were probably the happiest years of his life. At one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the most part LSD treatment plans ceased in the 1970s this was mainly due to the fact that unregulated experiments involving highly hallucinogenic drugs on sometimes unwilling participants became frowned upon and rightly so. LSD can be dangerous depending on the dosage and back in the 50s and 60s researchers would just keep upping the dosages until they felt they got the desired results. You can see how that could get morally and ethically confusing. The first example this paper covers is a study published in 1957 involving the use of LSD on psychoneurotic patients under day hospital conditions; the overall goal being to make these psychoneurotic people more manageable on a day to day basis. According to the author of the study, Dr. Joyce Martin, the patients selected for treatment had to meet certain criteria such as: no prior psychotic episodes, a good personality and high intelligence. (Martin, 1957). It is unclear if the patients in this study knew what was going to happen to them and it is also unclear if these patients participated willingly. This was of course a time where strict ethics board did not exist and patient consent/knowledge was not always required to conduct scientific experiments. Regardless, the experiments themselves were simple: patient arrives at the hospital, eats breakfast, is put into their own room, an initial dosage of 25 to 50 gamma of LSD was administered, dosage is increased until desired effect is achieved, patients are monitored and offered lunch which they often refused due to nausea and then the reaction was terminated by administering Largactil. Results varied from the patients becoming more receptive to less receptive. Patients were often reported to experience vivid past memories as well as saying they saw themselves as being younger when looking at a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Essay about Social Media s Affect on Mixed Martial Arts Introduction In this research proposal, we aim to discuss the role social media has on the growth of Mixed Martial Arts. This study was chosen because there is no getting around the fact that social media has changed the way we communicate and interact. The biggest change is the sheer number of people using social media websites and the interaction with each other. The genre of MMA was chosen because it is a relatively new sport, but despite that, it has been gaining grave amounts of publicity in the sporting world. Unlike other long established, mainstream sports such as soccer and basketball, the sport of MMA only commenced approximately 20 years ago, back in 1993. I had been preparing for this day the moment I received my temps six months prior. Instead of my grandfather drive me to his home from high school every day, I demanded to start driving us home. When my mom would come home late at night to pick me up from my grandparents house to take me to my actual home I would drive us too. I was relentless when it came to practicing driving. On late nights, I would take my future car, a 98 two door ford to a soybean field behind my house and practice parallel parking. Although this may seem like overkill, driving was something I wanted more than anything. You see, there were many reasons I wanted to drive so bad, one, because of the freedom it would give me and two, I wanted to be able to see something I had put so much time and effort into become a reality. It was not the same as studying for a test, it was a life skill that would come in handy almost every day of my life. At this point my life was not how I had pictured it being, and when I compared it to others in my peer circle I realized how much of my life I had missed out on due to my father s parenting style, my mother s inability to stand up for herself, and a series of other unfortunate events that never seemed to let up. Individual discrimination is when one person or a small group of people discriminate, institutional involves the discrimination that can be found with institutions themselves, and structural discrimination often seems unintentional. Usually in institutional, there is a dominant group in control of the institution that discriminates against a minority. It is not rare to see discrimination occur in education, even though as a society we wish it was a thing of the past. The discrimination can create vastly different learning environments and experiences for each student or for varying groups of students, and this can result in an education gap. Individual discrimination can be seen if a staff member at the school treats a student differently because of the group they belong to, institutional discrimination can be seen if someone ranked high in the district gives orders to treat those of a certain group differently, and structural discrimination can be seen in areas where you have to live within a ... Kohlberg s stages that are similar is the conventional stage of good boy/ nice girl morality where the school aged child follows rules to be accepted by those around them, and the postconventional stage of social contract orientation where the adolescent will follow society customs for the benefit of others. These three stages are closely associated as someone s identity is usually shaped by the customs of society. People will do what is expected of them to be accepted which in turn contributes to their identity. The last similarity between the two theories is Erikson s stage of generativity versus stagnation where the middle aged adult broadens their concern from themselves to the community and world, and Kohlberg s postconventional stage of universal ethical principles where the adult s actions are determined by their own ethical principles and standards of behaviour. These two stages complement each other as a person cannot have concerns for the community and world if they do not have a sense of their own beliefs and values as a foundation. Historical Accuracy Of Henry Iv Plays By Shakespeare Name Instructor Course Date Historical Accuracy in Henry IV Plays by Shakespeare Research shows that Shakespeare s historical plays do not offer good sources for accurate rendering of historical events. The details of place of issues such as place, time, and personality are all subject to a great deal of artistic license just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the past. However, to some extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his famous works and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for Henry IV plays is Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael Holinshed, the 1587 edition. Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities and motivations of important historical figures as well as much detail regarding Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source used by Shakespeare in historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of Lancaster and York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he had with Hotspur. Shakespeare followed and used Daniel in portraying Hotspur as a much younger person at the period of rebellion though history shows that he was older than King Henry IV was. The surrounding ocean provides it s bounty as well. A thriving fishing and crabbing community makes its home along the various cities along the coast of Alaska. Without these natural resources, Alaska would have a failing economy in which the local government would fail to function due to the lack of revenue. Alaska is the largest state in the entire United States of America, and has one of the largest economies. Despite this fact, it is also one of the least populated. This is perhaps due to the harsh, cold climate, the likes of which are not seen in the rest of the continental United States. • 27. The Primitive Consistency Theory Is Heider s Balance Theory Cognitive consistency theories suggest that individuals try to see their natural surroundings in ways that are basic and uncomplicated. Early consistency philosophers formulated theories of conflict, retention, and bigotry for indecisiveness by those with a controlling disposition. At the core of subjective consistency theories, is the suspicion that individuals are propelled to seek coherent attitudes, thoughts, beliefs, values, behaviors, and feelings. On the off chance that these are conflicting, they will create a tension state in the individual, and rouse the person to decrease this strain. People lessen this pressure, as indicated by consistency theories, by making their relevant cognizance consistent. The primitive consistency theory is Heider s balance theory. This strategy is correlated with an individual s view of the connections between himself (p) and (normally) two different components in a triadic structure. In Heider s detailing, alternate components are frequently someone else (o) and another article (e.g., an issue, object, a value). The approaches in the structure are assigned as either positive or negative. The objective of surveying the structure of a triad is to determine whether the connections (mentalities) between the performing artists and alternate components are balanced, or consistent. An adjusted triad happens when every one of the connections are positive, or two are negative and one is positive (i.e., two individuals have a negative state ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With growing up in a Charismatic church, I saw the gifts in action. There is a lot of debate on whether the gift is relevant for today or have they ceased from the church. One side says that the gifts are in the past and is not relevant for the day that we live in and another side says that the gifts are still relevant for today. Again we need to look at how the Bible uses these words. In John 17:3 it says that This is eternal life that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (New American Standard Bible, 1995 revised). In that verse it talks about how having eternal life is to also knowing God. Also only the believer is known by Jesus (John 10:27; Gal. 4:8 9; Romans 8:29). The unbeliever is not known by Jesus (Matt. 7:21 23). In every verse except for one, God says that he knows only the believers. Knowing this is a kind of salvation knowing, it is a kind of knowing that God gives to the Christians. He knows them and knows that they are saved. The unbelievers are not known and therefore are not saved. It would seem to be consistent with scripture to say that ...as I m fully known would refer to salvation relationship between the Christians and Jesus Christ. When the return of Christ comes, we as Christians will see him face to face. Another argument is that present day tongues are further revelation and then must be equal to scripture and ought to be included into the Bible. But since the Bible has nothing to add to it, the gift of tongues must no longer be valid. The problem with this argument is that faulty because recognizes revelation that cannot be added into the Bible. 1 Cor. 14:26 talks about the church in Corinth were revelations were revealed that were not included in the Bible. • 36. Franchising Is The Single Most Successful Marketing... Franchising is the wave of the future, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce. John Naisbitt writes in Megatrends that Franchising is the single most successful marketing concept ever. Nowadays, McDonald s Corporation has 36,368 restaurants around the world. McDonald s has established its success based on a widespread practise in capitalistic societies, known as franchising. Many entrepreneurs (the franchisees) have chosen to acquire a franchise to access the knowledge, the trademark, and the processes of a corporation (the franchisor); in order to sell a product, or provide a service under the business name. In return, depending on the franchise contract, the franchisee usually pays additional money for the start up of his company, and annual licensing fees. Franchises are extremely popular among entrepreneurs who wish to operate in highly competitive industries, such as fast food industry. In fact, franchises biggest advantage is trademarks. Through franchising, entrepreneurs gain access to an established company s brand name, already known by the customers. Also, the franchisor often provides assistance before and during the life of the franchise. Of course, success is not guaranteed, and work and talent have to be invested to attain profits. Many americans have achieved wealthiness through franchising. • 38. Companies Are Treating The Animals We Will Ultimately Consume In America, our everyday lives tend to revolve around our food choices. The average consumer veers towards the quick and easy food options. Without prior knowledge, an individual could be consuming contaminated meat products that were produced on a factory farm. Since the 1960 s, factory farming has accounted for over 99% of the meat sold in the United States (Zacharias, 2011). The move towards large, factory farms saves meat industry millions of dollars a day. These farms pose a huge risk to public health and environmental safety. Currently, four major companies produce 85% of all the beef in the United States (Bernice, 2014). It is important to examine how these companies are treating the animals we will ultimately consume. Knowing what these animals are fed, the conditions they are kept in and the effect that these factory farms have on the environment is essential for our health. But are there other options other than Big Ag corporations? Smaller, family owned farms might be the key to better nutrition and a smaller, ecofriendly footprint. Without music, we don t have the way to express our feeling with, technically life will be dulled without any music. When a softer and soothing music is playing during the day, children tend to be more relaxed and quiet. Music is a primary experience for us human. This is why music should be the important subject to have in early childhood curriculum. February 6th, 1765 George Grenville came forth in Parliament to propose his Stamp Bill. Not knowing that it would forever be a significant part of history. The Act was a tax on every piece of printed paper the colony used. Including, legal documents, licenses, and even playing cards. The tax also had to be paid with British currency. When that time has passed and the child is still progressing, one is only left to wonder the next step. At this point, time spent creating memories with family should be top priority. It is my recommendation that the health care community implement a network of resources for parents who are not willing to accept and grieve but are willing to accept and fight to prolong the life of their child. Resources and information should be readily available to assist with any type of services that would bring relief for situations ranging from housing to therapy. Three stories that capture this blurred line are Shattered, an Australian Story episode on ABC s website, The Story of Tom Brennan, a story written by Australian author J.C.Burke, and In My Little Town, another Australian Story episode. • 54. Iago Character Analysis William Shakespeare was born in 1564. Very little is known about his personal life but he is one of the most well known authors in history. One of his famous works is Othello. There are many key characters in the play but there is one that plays a major key role in what happens and that is Iago. He is a supposed to be Othellos best friend but as the play goes on, his true colors begin to show. No other character can even come close to his evil. Most of the characters in the play have a reason for what they do. Iagolies and manipulates the characters of the play because he is a very ruthless man. Shakespeare does a very good job in showing what kind of person Iago is right from the beginning of the play. The reader begins to realize this before any of the characters in the play do. I believe he did this so the reader will begin to see how evil Iago is yet how unjustified his reasoning is. Iago is the main reason there is conflict in Othello. I feel as if he had not entered the play Othello would have married Desdemona and they would have lived happily ever after. Right from the beginning of the play to the very end he causes conflicts. He is responsible for the deaths of Othello, Desdemona, Emilia, Cassio, and Roderigo. Which happen to all be the main characters. All the problems he causes are through lies, manipulation, and a deep unknown hate. Some of his hate is fueled by jealousy and revenge. The ironic part is that he wants to be known as honest Iago . Every act ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
