There are about 300 non SI units! Converting to SI would not only be beneficial to
our teachers, making their jobs easier because they don t have to waste time on
teaching two systems or teaching conversions, it s also making the lives of
students a lot more simplistic. No longer would they have to worry about if they
made their conversion correctly, or what system they should be using. In the long
run converting will have an immense impact. Now, it s no surprise that Americans

system was thwarted by big businesses and American citizens who didn t want to go
through the time consuming and expensive hassle of changing the country s entire
infrastructure. Many also believed that the United States should keep its particular
system, setting it apart from other countries and symbolizing its status as a leader
