movie was met with moderate financial and critical success making $75.4 million dollars off a budget

and relevant is The Count of Monte Cristo? That is the question I will be answering in this short paper
but before I go over the historical accuracies and inaccuracies let me give you a brief summery of the

Surprisingly to me I couldn t find too many historical inaccuracies in this movie. The settings of
scenes match up well with 1800s France and all of the architecture is generally similar to French
architecture of the time period. Where I found the most inaccuracies was in the clothes that the
characters wore. Doing a little research on the fashion of the 1800s, specifically 1815 1844 when the
story takes place, I found that the style of clothes that the characters wear would be nearly half a
century old, the clothes worn in the film being more reminiscent to late 1700s fashion. Not to mention
the total negation of hats in the film which were a staple of men s fashion throughout the 1800s. But
the most glaring inaccuracy, concerning fashion of the time, are the clothes that are worn by the Count
of Monte Cristo himself, Edmond Dantès. In what I assume to be an artistic design choice to make the
count seem more regal or foreign, as he tries to appear as if he s not from France, only comes off as

group of people are deemed the norm, and everyone else is designated as the Other, who are
considered deviant (Fozdar, Wilding Hawkins 2009, pp. 4 5). In the case of the Indigenous people,
Racial Othering was originally based on physical differences determined by genetics that differed
from race to race, but today it also takes into account the cultural differences of people (Wilding
Hawkins 2009, p. 5). What exactly Racial Othering is, and just how it has contributed to the
inequalities experienced by the indigenous people of Australia, and what those inequalities are, will be

parents and medical personnel. Rates of non medical vaccine exemptions for children entering public
school continue to increase across the country. This increase has coincided with a resurgence in
outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases, or VPDs (Lynfield, 2014, p.1). There are a variety of
reasons why a family might apply for a non medical exemption and the validity of these exemptions
varies from state to state. Regardless of the justifiability of an exemption, growing numbers of non
vaccinated children entering school will increase the prevalence and mortality from VPDs (Lynfield,
2014, p.2). The recommended vaccinations for children entering kindergarten are 4 doses of
diphtheria, tetanus toxoid, and acellular pertussis (DTaP), 2 doses of the measles, mumps, and rubella
(MMR) vaccine, and 2 doses of the varicella vaccine. The national Healthy People 2020 goal for
kindergarten vaccination rates is 95%. Although the majority of states report vaccination rates at or
near the goal, clusters of non vaccinated groups can develop in some communities (Seither, 2014, p.1).

clear that many of the things in pop culture would be short lived. The short lived trends and
happenings are labeled as fads . Strangely enough, some fads progress beyond their short lifespan and
actually become a mainstay in the varying international cultures. One such example might be familiar
as it is common in today s society. This example is, indeed, video games. When video games were
first being introduced to the general public, they weren t all that exciting. Most gaming took place in
arcades and most arcades didn t have many game cabinets due to their being very few games to begin

One of the biggest keys to being a successful teacher is classroom management. Of course, there are
different needs depending on if you teach kindergartners or high school auto shop students, and every
teacher has his or her own individual style. A constant through out all classrooms is this, without good
classroom management, a teacher loses control. Once you lose control of the classroom the amount of
actual teaching and learning diminishes to almost nothing.
I am by nature not a strong disciplinarian and like to be relaxed and fun with my class. I will never be
known as that mean teacher . I am the teacher students think they can get away with mischief in class,
and in my early years, they did get away with a lot. I will never be up to the level of one of my
colleagues, who has been teaching high school English for almost 40 years. She is a wonderful woman
who can even scare other teachers during staff meetings if they were to talk or fidget.
I have however, over the years been able to find ways to combine my somewhat easygoing personality
with some constant classroom rules and ideas to maintain a good learning atmosphere. Here is a
simple list of six suggestions I think most teachers will agree with and should use.
