Outline For An Argumentative Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "Outline for an Argumentative Essay" can be both challenging
and rewarding. The difficulty lies in the need to strike a balance between presenting a coherent
structure and developing compelling arguments. Firstly, you must thoroughly understand the
intricacies of argumentation and be adept at organizing your thoughts logically.
Constructing a solid outline involves careful consideration of the introduction, body paragraphs,
and conclusion. Each section requires meticulous planning to ensure a seamless flow of ideas.
The introduction should grab the reader's attention, provide background information, and end
with a clear thesis statement. In the body paragraphs, you need to present your arguments
cohesively, providing evidence and counterarguments to strengthen your position. Transitioning
smoothly between points is crucial for maintaining the essay's overall coherence. Finally, the
conclusion must succinctly summarize your main points, restate the thesis, and leave a lasting
impression on the reader.
One of the challenges is conducting thorough research to gather relevant and credible evidence
to support your claims. This requires time and effort to sift through various sources and discern
the most persuasive information. Additionally, anticipating and addressing potential
counterarguments adds complexity to the task, as it demands a comprehensive understanding of
the topic from multiple perspectives.
Moreover, achieving a balance between being persuasive and respectful is essential in an
argumentative essay. Striking the right tone and avoiding overly emotional language can be
challenging, as it requires a nuanced approach to convince readers without alienating them.
In conclusion, while composing an essay on the topic "Outline for an Argumentative Essay" can
be demanding, it offers an opportunity to hone critical thinking and persuasive writing skills.
With dedication and attention to detail, navigating through the complexities of structuring
arguments and presenting evidence can lead to a well-crafted and impactful essay.

Dr. Martin Luther King Observation Report
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. a great man who is still respected and honored by all
Americans. Dr. King is admired today, due to his leadership and Charisma skills,
as well as his non violence approach to solving problems. However, on Monday the
18, of January 2016, Americans all over the United States celebrated the life and
legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On the third of January each year this day is set
aside for the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, (Carson, 1987). Government

King is remembered because of the Montgomery bus boycott, and Rosa Parks
being arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white person, she was a part of
the bus boycott as well (Faragher, Buhle, Czitrom, Armitage, 2009). Dr. King led
the boycott in Montgomery bus system that lasted over a year (Faragher et al.,
2009). Due to the boycott, White and African Americans in 2016, can sit together
and ride the buses together without any hostility or violence. Several movement
activists today view Dr. King as one of the most conspicuous among some of the
most exceptional movement tacticians, ideologues, and strategists, influential
leaders in the United States (Carson, 1987). In addition, Dr. King is known as a
Civil Rights leader, which stood behind President Johnson as he signed the Civil

The United States Of America Should Legalize Prostitution
INTRODUCTION
Attention Getter: Is your job considered socially acceptable? Does the government
protect you and your rights as a human beign? Do you get health insurance? You re
not reduced to your profession when they report your brutal murder in the news,
right? People don t say that you had it coming, that you were asking for it when you
entered your job, right? Well, if the answer is yes, that means you aren t a sex worker.
Controversy and Significance Statement(s): Prostitution is a crime in Amreica and
criminalizing it is putting more sex workers in jail.
Credibility Statement: I have researched and read about prostition.
Persuasive Thesis: The United States of America should legalize prostitution.
Preview Statement: Today, we ll will be defining what prostitution is and examining
it s difference from human trafficking. Then, we ll be examining why we should be
legalizing prostitution rather than just decriminalizing it . After that, we ll be
discussing how it can benefit both sex workers and the US government.
BODY
MP1: Prostitution vs Human Trafficking
a.What is prostitution?
Prostitution, according to Merriam Webster, is the act of engaging in sexual
activities in exchange of money. It is a business transaction between the sex worker
and the client, one that is considered illegal here in America save for the brothels in
Nevada.
b.What is human trafficking?
Human trafficking, on the otherhand, is an organized crime where human beings of
all ages are sold off as if
Fallacies To An Argument
Throughout this school year, I ve learned that an argument it s the most common
writing task, even though people don t notice that they are using it. Frequently, the
goal of a writing is to describe or explain a point of view and support it with
evidence. Indeed that is what makes an argument, to have a claim and try to
convince people by giving examples that help illustrate the reason why the claim it s
true or not. However, writingan effective argumentcan be challenging as it requires
strategies to be convincing, as well as consideration of how to formulate it in order
to avoid fallacies. On one hand, rhetorical strategies are necessary to write a
persuasive argument; strategies such as an appeal to logos, ethos, or pathos,
rhetorical devices, etc.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, it is important to consider the subject, the occasion, the audience, the purpose,
the speaker, and the tone to ensure all of those connect adequately to each other and
the message is delivered in a right way. On the other hand, fallacies are very common
within arguments since finding a convincing justification can be difficult. Some
fallacies dealing with tradition, patriotism, or ethnicity go unnoticed due to the fact
that people use it often, but it lacks validity and it makes the argument weak. If one
compares an argument to an analysis, the two are different since an argument serves
to prove a point of view while an analysis it s more similar to an evaluation of how
authors use rhetorical strategies. However, an argument and a synthesis essay are
very similar, the only difference it s that in a synthesis argument the evidence comes
from sources and not the mind of the writer. An argument can be difficult to write, but
with the right rhetorical strategies, complexity such as a concessions and a
counterarguments, and precaution to avoid fallacies, it can be highly
Sea Of Monsters Themes
After reading The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan, I found that one of the main
themes is that everything comes from something and for a specific reason. It can
be very important to know where we come from and other things about our
background helping us discover our purpose. In this book you can obviously see
that Tyson is an outcast and isn t properly appreciated. Annabeth and many others,
such as the gray ladies, didn t even want to be anywhere near him. In paragraph 6 on
page 23 the text states, Annabeth gave him a look of distaste that I didn t quite
understand. Everyone seemed to underestimate him. They thought that he was no
good and useless, purely because of the fact that he was a cyclops. Everyone was so
caught up on how much
Differences Between Seventeenth Century England And
17th...
The following are the primary differences between the political paths of seventeenth
century England and the seventeenth century France. Factors that led their different
political paths was the military concerns. Changes in military organization, weapons,
and tactics that sharply increased the cost of warfare. Monarch sought new sales with
the growing expenses. Seventeenth century is a time when the rulers of France were
becoming more and more absolutist, Englandwas moving away from absolutism. The
seventeenth century was the time of Louis XIV. He was known as the Sun King and
declared himself “without equal.” He is generally considered to be
the most powerful monarch to ever rule in Western Europe. Louis ruled with an
iron fist, and never became dependent on a single advisor. He often spied on
ministers, even opening their mail. In religious matters, Louis revoked the Edict of
Nantes primarily to prevent religious differences from erupting into a civil conflict.
Louis XIV took absolutism to extremes, claiming to be a servant of God (the divine
right of Kings ) and dissolving France s only general assembly. Why absolutism
failed in England but grew in France is due mainly to the political situation in each
country when the idea was first introduced. In England, the English people had been
proud of their rights as Englishmen which dated to the Magna Cartaof 1215. They
were never ruled by an absolute monarch and had no intention of submitting. When
Charles I attempted to dissolve Parliament and finally declared war on it, he was
executed for treason, the first monarch to be executed by his own people. After a
brief experiment with the Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell, Charles II returned to
England as monarch. He was succeeded by James II who also isolated (divided) the
English people and was forced to flee. At the invitation of Parliament William of
Orange (in the Netherlands) and James daughter Mary were invited to assume the
English throne; (this was the Glorious Revolutionof 1688) but were required of
accepting the Throne to sign the English Bill of Rights, which stated the monarch
could not suspend laws passed by Parliament, judges would hold office during good
Phylogenetic Analysis of Thermophilic Bacteria
We report the community of thermophilic bacteria cultivated from Tanjung Sakti Hot
Spring in South Sumatera Indonesia that has temperature 80 91 0C and pH 7 8.
Based on phylogenetic analysis, the 16 sequences of 16S rRNA gene fragments
obtained from the community clustered within four distinct genera as Anoxybacillus,
Geobacillus, Brevibacillus, and Bacillus. Two sequences that have 96% similarity
with data sequences in GenBank, are potentially as novel species/sub species.
Hot spring is a unique area that characterized by high temperature and has a great
diversity of natural environments. Understanding of thermophilic microbial diversity
has opened up a lot of information about microbial interactions with the environment.

DNA extraction from microbial culture
Microbial chromosomal DNA was isolated using Protein Purification Kit
(Promega). Pellet cells derived from microbial cultures were resuspended in 300
mL cell lysis solution, incubated at room temperature for 10 minutes, then added
300 mL nuclei lysis solution and 2 mL RNase and incubated at 37 В° C for 15 min.
Next, add 300 mL of protein precipitation, and centrifuged 13,000 rpm for 10 min at
20 В° C. To the filtrate was added 300 mL of chloroform: isoamilalkohol (24:1),
vortex and centrifuged at 16,000 rpm for 30 seconds, the top layer is taken. The
treatment is done 2 times. Subsequently, 0.6 volume of isopropanol was added and
incubated at room temperature for 60 minutes, centrifuged at 13,000 rpm for 15
minutes. DNA pellet formed was washed with 70% ethanol and then dried. DNA
pellet is then dissolved in 50 mL ddH2O.
16S rRNA gene amplification
16S rRNA gene fragment was amplified by PCR using primers 27F and 1492R
(Baker et.al, 2003, Frank, et.al 2008). Amplification was performed by 30 cycles
(denaturation 95 В° C for 30 s, annealing 55 В° C for 60 s, chain extension 72 В° C
for 90 seconds) with an initial denaturation 95 В° C for 3 min and a final chain
extension of 72 В° C for 5 min . Taq DNA polymerase enzyme (GoTaq Green Master
Mix from Promega) was used for the amplification reaction according to standard
usage.
Corruption In A Small Place By Jamaica Kincaid
Antigua is a possibly one of the most beautiful places to visit in the world, let alone
the Caribbean. In A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid, she describes Antigua as place
of prioritizing the foreigners and the white people. Regrettably, the country has been
designed to become a tourist attraction over the years, causing the author s sense of
Antiguato dissipate over time (p.23). Kincaid s perception of Antigua can be summed
up by the unrepaired library, the past social and cultural interaction of the Antiguans
(p. 42 43). To the tourist, the ruin library is possibly just another damage structure;
however, to the locals and Kincaid, it has meaning, a place, a locale, and more
importantly, a sense of place. In the story, it references the corruption of the
politicians always trying to benefit themselves... Show more content on

Despite the disturbance of place and the negative stigma of corruption, this paper
argues that Antigua s single dependent economy (tourism) has caused the government
to favor the monetary benefits over the social and cultural benefits. To explore the
cultural and social demise Kincaid is telling through her story, this paper will explore
the issues of corruption affecting the local s sense of place, but ultimately, corruption
is not entirely bad for Antigua.
Literature review Before exploring the underlying reasons and critiquing Jamaica
Kincaid s A Small Place, it is important to establish a mutual understanding of place
and how corruption could affect the Antiguans. According to Cresswell (2009),
place refers to important and substantial site that combines location, locale, and
sense of place (p.169). Location indicates the exact area of the site, while locale
refers to the visible and tangible aspects of a place
Descriptive Essay About A Coffee Shop
The dim lights of the coffee shop create an elegantly soft glow of orange that invite
shadows to dance across the room and across the faces of the unsuspecting patrons.
All of whom are busily chatting with each other, laughing, and enjoying everything
the shop has to offer. Today, hot chocolate and freshly squeezed orange juice are the
specialties. The beverage list is short, sweet, and to the point with extravagantly curvy
letters that spell out Amsterdams Finest Damn Coffeeat the bottom. Soft jazz is
making its way around the room inspiring little dances here and there and adding
to the relaxing ambiance of the place. I order a round of hot chocolates and make
my way to the giant lavish purple couch in the corner where a few of my best
friends are waiting. I take a seat on the plush upholstery and immediately sink in
afraid it just might gobble me up whole. I giggle at the image and reach for my
cocoa when two perfectly rolled spliffs fall on the table next to my decadent mug.
I am immediately informed that one is rolled with AK and the other with White

Paper Airplane Experiment
The paper airplane experiment The Paper Airplane Experiment is to test how
people interpret my instructions on creating a paper airplane. The paper airplane
instructions have short descriptions and pictures. I gave my instructions to three
people and asked the three people to follow them. The paper airplane instructions
stated the following: get a piece of paper, fold the paper according to the diagrams,
and throw the paper airplane. The three people I gave the paper airplane
instructions to are: Valerie a biology major, Pratap a business major, and Robbie a
philosophy major. As they made their airplanes, I observed, timed, and recorded their
actions. I had preconceived notions on how each subject would perform based on
their majors. The results... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and so on. When I ended the experiment, Robbie told me that my instructions were
unclear. I was surprised when Robbie told me that. Valerie and Pratap were able to
follow the instructions with little trouble. Robbie said the wording I used for the
explanations were not clear. I asked Robbie what kind of learner he identified as

I did not account for visual learners. Visual learners learn from watching
demonstrations. The paper airplane instructions would not help a visual learner. I
asked Robbie how he usually learns new topics. Robbie told me he would ask friends
to teach him or watch YouTube videos. I decided to change how Robbie would learn
how to make a paper airplane. I took out a piece of paper and made a paper airplane.
I stopped at every step to make sure Robbie understood why I did each step. Once I
finished, I asked Robbie if he could redo the

the most important advantage of employing in house staff it is their level of

Employees are feeling proud of the work they perform on an everyday basis, they
take ownership of their responsibilities, and they then carry out. They can go that
extra mile and push themselves more as they feel involved and a part of the team.
By hiring outsource staff, we cannot expect the same level of involvement and

What Is The Critique Of The Marvel Movie Doctor Strange
Critique
Imagine, that the world you ve lived in, and known for your entire life was; in fact,
a completely different world that you knew nothing about at all. A world that
consisted of multiple dimensions and sorcerers protecting our world from evils that
subsist in other realms. In this exact moment, you could be standing in the middle of
a battle happening in a mirror image and not even know it. After viewing Marvel
Film Doctor Strange, the graphics will have you questioning if all these things could
actually be nonfictional; indeed, you may even find yourself wondering if you too
might have the power of mind to enter the Astral Plane. Although the graphics of this
film are incredible there are still some faults in this movie pertaining to onscreen
relationship connections between certain characters, and the underdevelopment of
some characters.
Leading role Dr. Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch was executed perfectly
throughout the movie. His character did a full three hundred and sixty degrees turn
around during the movie and the buildup during this turn around was very clear,
leaving no room for confusion. His character development had some very key
moments to keep the audience fully engaged in his healing process. To set the mood
for Dr. Strange, they had a moment where Strange had just finished brain surgery
and was confronted by Dr. Palmer (Rachel McAdams) for a second opinion about a
case that she had, where he, within minutes had resolved and knew how to save
Essay about Legislation against Pit Bulls and Owners in...
If you re a pit bull owner in Sioux City, Iowa, you are faced with certain ordinances
that make it more difficult to own and keep your dog. This is Sioux City s attempt
to keep its citizens safe and prevent the abuse and harm of the pitbull. The city is
trying to promote safety and animal advocacy. This ordinance is not effective
because it punishes the animal and not the owner; it also does not take into account
the animals individual personality. Legislators should create laws that consider all
dogs based on their individual behavior and hold owner accountable for their
animals. These types of ordinances are referred to Breed Specific Legislation or
BSL. When lawmakers impose BSL on communities they are singling out specific...

Some of these dogs are so similar in appearance not even the experienced eye can
tell them apart. Those that support BSL believe that dangerous dogs are dangerous
because of its breed and physical characteristics and not its individual behavior.
Furthermore, any animal that has the general characteristics of a pit bull type dog is
considered to be a pit bull as well according to Sioux City s law (Sioux City Animal
Control). Not only is a dog deemed dangerous just because of its breed, it is also
dangerous due to its appearance. This creates controversy because the dogs are
classified as dangerous and subjected to following Sioux City s BSL without having
a chance to prove themselves otherwise. These dogs are considered guilty without
the chance to prove themselves innocent. Responsible owners have followed the
laws that Sioux City has passed. They have been willing to jump through hoops to
do whatever it takes to keep their beloved dog in their home. On the other hand,
irresponsible dog owners have taken a much more careless approach to breed specific
legislation. Often times, irresponsible dog owners do not care about the overall well
being of their dog. To these people, instead of doing whatever it takes to keep their
pet, they simply surrender the dog to a shelter when the going gets tough. Sioux City
officials often exercise their right to euthanize these dogs. Section 7.10 of the

Rod Serling s The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street
Rod Serling s message to the readers of The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street is
just because your re afraid doesn t mean, you should accuse others. The theme of
fear begins to appear in the story when they all saw there was a shadow. They
thought it was the monster, but when Charlie killed it , he realized that it was Pete
Van Horn. When everyone saw that Charlie killed Pete Van Horn, they were so
afraid that they accused Charlie of him killing Pete Van Horn on purpose.
Everyone was so scared when they saw the shadow. Charlie didn t think before he
shot the monster , he just wanted to protect everyone. A quote from this story that
supports my claim is, You were so quick to kill, Charlie, and you were so quick to tell

Well some of us won t! This shows that Charlie was accusing Steve because Steve
didn t even take action, and Charlie at least tried to protect and save everyone from
the monster . They wouldn t have reacted that way if they weren t so afraid. and it
was just an accident and Charlie was just protecting people around him. Later in
the story, Lese s car started turning on, but he was acting like he had NO IDEA
why the group of people had come over to his house. They came because they were
very sucpicious of him when 1st. His car turned on, and 2nd why he didn t even
come outside to see when this big space ship was flying over all the houses on
Maple St. And that s why they were so suspicious of Lese. In the text Lese said,
You were so quick to kill, Charlie, and you were so quick to tell us who we had to
be careful of. Though Lese was so scared because He thought he was getting blamed
by Charlie, and then he started blaming Charlie for everything even though Lese
knew most of what was going on. In conclusion, everyone should know that, you do
not blame anyone for at least trying to protect you, and accusing you because you are
afraid and having a reaction. I think the author included this theme in their text
because, they want people to know not to judge/accuse people of what they do on

If the equilibrium lies to the right, the solution is basic and will be yellow. The first
solution turns pink because the HCl is a strong acid and methyl orange is pink in
acidic solutions. The equilibriums shift to the left side showing an increase in the
amount of acid in the solution that is why the color changes to pink. The
concentration of the solution then turns yellow because NaOH is a base and turns
yellow in a basic solution. The equilibrium is shifted to the right when the NaOH is

Moral Confusion in Mister Pip
Mister Pip written by Lloyd Jones is a story told by Matilda. It is set in the 1990 s
on the South Pacific tropical island of Bougainville. The islanders are living in fear
in the grip of a civil war rages between the rebels and the Redskins. Mr. Watts or
Pop Eye as the children call him, is the only remaining white man on the island and
he volunteers to teach the village children. He reads Charles Dickens novelGreat
Expectations to the children, who are fascinated by it. Matilda is especially
engrossed by it and by the story of the white boy Pip whose story is a lot like hers.

At this point, it is clear in the story that both Matilda and her mother have been
emotionally split apart.
As the story of Great Expectations develops, Matilda has accepted herself as one
of the characters. She has been so involved in the book that she begins to connect
Great Expectations to her own life. This, she does by relating herself to the
character of Pip and noticed she is part of the story but has no real part in it. Mr.
Watts had given us kids another world to spend the night in. We could escape to
another place. This attraction is especially strong for Matilda, whose father
abandoned her and her mother to live in the city; like Pip, she feels the loss of her
parent keenly. For Matilda, Pip represents hope I knew things could change because
they had for Pip (p51) which she celebrates by constructing a seashell shrine on the
beach in Pip s name. As the battle between the island rambos and the government
supported redskin missionary s rage in the hills behind her village, Great
Expectations offers a relief in that it contained a world that was whole and made
sense, unlike ours. (p67) Matilda starts to see Mr. Watts outside of school. There, he
tells Matilda two secrets: one, Grace is not my wife s name (p72) and two, There is
a boat coming on the night after the full moon (p175) This opened up the relationship
between Mr. Watts and Matilda and showed that Mr. Watts
Earth Day Is An Annual Events That Happen
Earth Day is an annual events that happen on April 22th in every year. It is a mark in
the history, also the environment field. On April 22th, 1970, it woke everyone that
human need to protect the environment they are living today (The History of Earth
Day | Earth Day Network). This brought the caution to people that we need to aware
the environmental concerns from now. The EarthDay can bring more knowledge and
information to educate people. It also reminds people years and years that we need
to do everything and protect the world we only have before it is too late.
Forty six years later, there are more and more countries, organizations, schools and
others institutions join activities which help protect the environment. For instance,
cut the electricity for an hour, planets more trees, and build up protect areas. The
government also release many laws to enforce the protection such as Clean Water Act
and Clean Air Act.

The Effects Of Global Climate Change On The United States
For someone to say that they do not believe in the idea of global climate change is
like saying that they do not believe in science. About 200 nations, including the
United States, have all come to the conclusion that climate change is indeed a real
and that we, human beings, have become responsible for finding a solution to this
precarious situation that we have put ourselves in. However, there is still a small
population of people that believe that there is nothing we can do to forestall the
destructive effects of global climate change. To retract the naysayers current idea, in
his climate change address, Barack Obama talks about his plans to reduce America s
carbon emissions by at least 17 percent by 2020 and at least 26 to 28 percent... Show

Each gallon of gasoline you burn creates 20 pounds of GHG. That s about 7 to 10
tons of GHG produced a year for a regular vehicle ( Reduce Climate Change 1).
Getting better gas mileage is a good thing because it means that people can get
better miles per gallon without releasing as many carbon emissions. According to
Barack Obama s administration, they have approved regulations that will force
automakers to nearly double the average gas mileage of all new cars and trucks
they sell in America by 2025 (Krisher 1). This will make it so all automakers will
produce vehicles that will be less detrimental to the environment and will help fend
off the hazardous effects certain to come with climate change. Fuel efficient cars
are considered advantageous because of their smaller gasoline engine , which
release fewer pollution emissions ( Fuel Efficient Cars... 1). A car that is
considered fuel efficient does not consume a lot of gas and gives the best possible
mileage. The less fuel consumed by the car, the less smoke that will come out of the
exhaust. As a result, the damage done to the global atmosphere is less ruinous.
Gases, like carbon dioxide are harmful to us as well as our environment. They aid in
depleting our ozone layer, causing detrimental global climatic changes. Fuel efficient
cars will help in reducing pollution by at least 50% ( Environmental Benefits of
The Pros And Cons Of Wilful And Wanton Doctrine
The child injured on our client s property would most likely be ruled a trespasser
by the courts, as he was not invited onto the property and willingly admitted such. A
property owner only has the duty to not wilfully or wantonly injure a trespasser.
Leffler v. Sharp, 891 So. 2d 152 (Miss. 2004). Wilful and wanton injuryhas been
defined by the courts as the conscious and intentional disregard of and indifference
to the rights and safety of others, which the defendant knows or should know is
reasonably likely to result in injury, damage, or other harm. Estrada v. Consol. Util.
Servs., Inc., No. 5:10 CV 161 RLV, 2011 WL 2174467, *2 (W.D.N.C. June 2, 2011)
Our client probably wouldn t be ruled to have willfully or wantonly injured the
trespassing child as he did not consciously or intentionally injure the child. There is
an exception which allows for premises liability in the absence of wilful or wanton
injury to a trespasser. The exception is premises liability under the attractive nuisance
doctrine.
There are two main purposes of the attractive nuisance doctrine. First, the attractive
nuisance doctrine acknowledges that children will trespass and may be injured while
doing so. The doctrine considers this, and then weighs the interest in protecting
children with its second purpose: to avoid an unreasonable burden on the property
owner when ensuring their property is safe for trespassing children. Liability to an
injured child, that was either too young to appreciate
Just in Time Distribution Essay
Just In Time Distribution and Barilla SpA
Anybody who knows something about business had heard the term Just in time (JIT)
inventory. It involves producing only what is need, when it is needed. The principle
of Just in time is to eliminate sources of manufacturing waste by getting the right
quantity of raw materials and producing the right quantity of products in the right
place at the right time.(1) In this way, manufactures receive parts and materials just in
time to meet the day s manufacturing quota with hardly any extra.(3)
JIT is a manufacturing management method developed in Japan during the 70 s to
meet customer demands. The individual most credited with the ... Show more content

One study showed that the average benefits accrued by US manufactures over 5 years
from using the JIT system were extraordinary. There was 90 percent reduction in the
manufacturing cycle time, 70 percent reductions in inventory, 50 percent reductions in
labor costs, and 80 percent reductions in space requirements.(2) All these benefits
affect the channel relationship in some way and will benefit the end user, whether it s
the cost of the product or the quality.
Now that I ve given a little overview on the JIT system, I want to talk about a new
concept that a company called Barilla SpA wanted to try called, Just in time
Distribution (JITD). But before I talk about JITD I want to tell you a little about the
company.
Barilla SpA was founded in 1875 when Pietro Barilla opened a small shop in
Parma, Italy. Connected to the shop was a small laboratory that Pietro used to make
the pasta and bread products that he sold in his store. Eventually over the years, the
company grew and was handed over to Pietro s grandchildren, Pietro and Gianni.
Over this time, Barilla evolved from the small
Basic Fundamentals And Design Parameters Of Patch
CHAPTER 3
BASIC FUNDAMENTALS AND DESIGN PARAMETERS OF PATCH
3.1Introduction As we all know, Selection of antenna is very important in designing
of successful rectenna because antenna is responsible for how much power is
received by the circuitry following after the antenna. This chapter describes the theory
of antenna and its property, design process, simulations and fabrication of an
Microsrip antenna that operates within the microwave frequency range. First we start
with a brief explanation of the main design parameters of an antenna then we briefly
explain the advantages of using microstrip antennas in these applications [4 18]. Also
a brief introduction of the software used for the design and simulations stages. Then
we will explain how making some changes to the shape of the ground plane and the
radiating patch of the antenna can improve the performance. After all the parametric
simulations a final antenna version was chosen and subsequently built.
An antenna also known as midair is an electrical expedient which translates electric
power into radio waves, and apposite to it. It is typically cast off with a radio
transmitter or radio receiver. In broadcast, a radio transmitter deliveries an electric
current wavering at radio frequency (i.e. a high frequency alternating current ) to the
antenna s terminuses, and the antenna produces the energy from the current as
electromagnetic waves (radio waves). In reception, an antenna interrupts certain of
the power of an
Sexism In Visual Arts
I selected Penn State University specifically for their dual degree program in
women s studies. My interest is researching visual culture and imagery of Black
female artists expressed in diverse societies; in everyday life, in art education, and
from feminist perspectives. These areas reflect my general interest both as an artist,
educator, and researcher. I have first hand experiences of being marginalized based
one s raceand gender, and being stereotyped based on the imagery of black women in
the media.
I began drawing as a little girl and looked at artists like Norman Rockwell, Ernie
Barnes, and Georgia O Keefe as a source for inspiration, however, I wondered was
there any black female artists. It wasn t until I took an undergraduate ... Show more

narrative told I understood the need to pursue the question, is there a black
feminist art movement to support and protect black women artists? Troubled by
the answer I received from the interviewees, I realized I was not the only one
feeling alone. Guided by black feminist theorists Lorde (2014) otherness, Collins
Hill (2000) inequality and oppression, I wanted to give these women a platform to
share their stories. After realizing the token black female artists in mainstream art
world gave the illusion of equality, I began to enact a space of feminist
consciousness raising theory (Reed, 2017) for these women to share their personal
experiences to public discussions and turn them into an analysis of the commonality
in inequality (Dill Zambrana, 2017). Grateful for my opportunities, I realize how
feminist scholarship allows me to create a feminist space to challenge the hegemonic
Legalization Of Recreational Drugs Essay
The legalization of recreational drugs in the United States is a polarizing issue that
affects every American, whether they are a drug user or not. Both sides present
arguments that call for changes to federal drug policy. The pro drug side says that
the recreational use of drugs should be allowed and the law should change to legalize
it. The anti drugside says that the use of drugs should continue to be illegal and more
should be done to control drug use. All side of this issue have a point they want to
make and it is important to understand the verifiable facts surrounding the use of
recreational drugs.

They cite many cases where all of these issues have happened and where they could
happen in the future. They view their side of the argument as a serious and major
policy decision that can affect Americans for generations to come. Their first point
in their favor is that while police and other law enforcement agencies are trying to
enforce drug laws, minorities are disproportionately targeted. They say that
minorities, especially African American males, are subject to arrest more often,
are incarcerated at a higher rate and serve longer sentences in prison ( Against ,
2017). Law enforcement tends to enforce drug laws in areas that have been
determined to be high crime and often, these areas are predominately African
American communities. As the population of cities, especially the inner city,
continue to grow over time, the number of people imprisoned for drug offenses
will continue to rise ( Against , 2017). Their next point covers the government s
spending on the enforcement of drug policy. The DEA had a budget in 2016 of
$2,080,000,000 ( DEA , 2016). Of course, not all of this is spent on stopping
people from doing recreational drugs, but any money spent, in the eyes of pro
legalization proponents, is too much. In 2015, the federal government spent $36
billion on drug enforcement across all of its agencies ( Alarming , 2016). The
United States spends around $80 billion per year on its prisons and

Disadvantages Of Cars
When you start looking for a new car, it can be little daunting at first. There are
hundreds of manufacturers to choose from; each offering the latest deals on
finance and upgrade packages. In recent decades, there has been a lot of choices
on the kind of cars to choose from, like hybrid, SUV s, and compact cars. All the
cars have advantages and disadvantages depending on how you plan to use the cars
whether it s for business or personal use. There are a lot of things you have to think
about before you decide which kind of car to buy. Gas mileage, impact on the
environment, what the automobileis going to be used for, and how much maintenance
and upkeep will cost. Safety, quality of engine, and driving convenience are some of
the things to be taken into consideration before making the choice, especially when
the automobile is for business use.
As a business that delivers medical parts to patient homes and physician offices, it
is important that we have automobiles that are reliable, good quality, safe, easy to
maintain, and good quality gas mileage that should save the company money and at
the same time good on the environment. We have used SUV s and compact cars on
our fleet before, but we have never had any hybrid cars. Both cars have advantages

Non Commissioned Officer Essay
Non Commissioned Officers must exhibit expertise in both management and
leadership to be truly successful. Management is the ability to attain quantifiably
measurable success, while Leadership is the art of capitalizing on a person s
individual motivators to inspire. While a mission may be complete utilizing only
managementtactics, we must motivate our Soldiers and groom them to one day take
our place. It is necessary to make the distinction between the two and to find a
balance.
As a Non Commissioned Officer (NCO), it is my foremost job to train and lead
Soldiers. The ways that an NCO may approach this task are as varied as the
personality types within the Army, and are specific to the element for which an
NCO is responsible. We are charged to groom the future NCOs who will take our

Gambling Addiction and Problem Gambling

winning streak. Back then in the 1970s 30 55 years old was the typical age that
most people gambled but now the typical age is 17 70 years old. In the United States
the legal age to gamble is 21 in most casinos and in some Indian casinos the legal age
is 18. There are many ways to gamble there are casinos, online gambling and even

Internet gambling is easy to get hooked on. There are advertisements for casinos at
almost all of the major search engines and home pages (ex: yahoo, metacrawler,
excite etc.) Many of these advertisements claim that they have free gambling or
give away free money. For example one casino will give you $125.00 for a $50.00
deposit. Do you think they would really give you that money if they weren t
confident that you would get hooked and spend it all there or if they thought that
they wouldn t get it all back? Once they have lured you to their websites it is easy
for them to get your money. It seems a lot easier to spend virtual casino tokens
purchased with a credit card than it is to spend your actual hard earned cash at a
real casino. Another obvious problem with having online casinos is that children
have easy access to them. There is no way to check ID. Anyone with a credit card
number can play. Parents of children who gamble online are legally responsible for
the debt that their children accumulate. It is especially easy if the parents have
already been to that particular casino and set up an account. All the child would
need is a password and many computer operating systems have the option of saving
passwords and filling them in for the user. Young people are especially vulnerable to
Internet gambling. In virtually all studies of the rates of gambling problems at
various ages, high school and college aged individuals show the highest problem

God wants more Christians to stay in the business world, the arts, entertainment,
politics, journalism, etc. and bring their Christian convictions and world view to
bear on how they conduct their business, write songs or films, or paint pictures.
One of the reasons for the recent decline of Christian impact on our culture is
because too many Christians have left the fields of science, math, film, art,
journalism, and especially politics, and hence there was a vacuum left that the
humanist, skeptic, atheist, and agnostic filled. So, now when in recent years
Christians have tried to boldly make an impact on culture in these various fields,
especially politics, we are finding the whole world view of our culture has changed
and the world view of absolutes, right and wrong, the Ten Commandments, prayer,
belief in God, convictions about abortion and homosexuality as sin are scoffed at,
laughed at, labeled as intolerant, and even pushed out by media blitz or ignoring
the facts or not giving Christians opportunity to voice their opinion. When
considering a call to ministry, let me encourage you to not dichotomize too sharply
between the secular and sacred. God wants to use all kinds of vocations to both

Religion played a very important role in the Aztec and Inca culture. Religious rituals

Paul David Tripp says, Personal ministry is not about always knowing what to say.
It is not about fixing everything in sight that is broken. Personal ministry is about
connecting people with Christ, so that they are able to think as he would have them
think, desire what he says is best, and do what he calls them to do even if their
circumstances never get fixed. It involves exposing hurt, lost, and confused people
to God s glory, so that they give up their pursuit of their own glory and live for his.
Supervised ministryhas allowed me to work with others with the hope of connecting
others to Christ on a personal level. In this paper I would like to reflect on the
ministry assignments I was given over the past few months and talk about... Show

The topics on spiritual formation and assimilation in our churches were extremely
beneficial. I have come to learn and understand why self care is critical for any
leader. I never realized how dangerous it is if a person is always saying yes to
different meetings and commitments in ministry. I also discovered the benefits of
saying no sometimes to these same commitments. If a person keeps going without
taking a pause for reflection or self care it is possible, it can have an effect on the
individual s health and longevity in ministry. As I learn the importance of self care
to prevent burnout or stress I am encouraged to teach others the same importance.
Lack of self care can have a grave effect on the church, family, and community.
Many pastors over the years have decided to walk away from the call because they
were burned out. It is important that I make self care a crucial part of my daily
routine now, so when more responsibilities or expectations come my way I would
be prepared to handle it better. When it comes to self care of our congregation
there are times when we miss the boat on taking care of them. The assimilation
class on guarding the church s back door has helped to put things into perspective
for me. We were taught how important it is to follow up with the members of the
church to make sure they are not forgotten. We want people to grow in Christ, not
become lost and give up because no one ever reached out or followed up with them.
One of my final assignments is to organize a 5K Walk/Run for the church. This
activity will definitely bring one aspect of self care to the

Discovering Freedom in Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour
As humans, we live our life within the boundaries of our belief systems and moral
guidelines. Yet, one unexpected event can suddenly knock us out of our comfort
zone and thrust us into a completely different arena. Such is the case of the central
character in Kate Chopin s The Story of an Hour. Louise Mallard, upon hearing the
news of her husband s tragic death then subsequent revelation of its fallacy, finds
herself quickly moving from grief, through a sense of newfound freedom, and finally
into the despair of the loss of that freedom.
After learning of her husband s death in a railroad disaster, Mrs. Mallard sinks into a
deep state of grief, as one would be expected to ... Show more content on

Mallard tastes new life for the first time. Even though she loved her husband and will
weep for him again, one thought comes to her over and over again: free, free, free!
. Mrs. Mallard realizes at that instant that her life from now on is her own to live as
she chooses; no more will she have to succumb to the needs and wishes of her
husband. Her body betrays her excitement for the thought of this new life; her
pulse races and her chest repeatedly rises and sinks with fervor, as she recognizes
this thing that was approaching to possess her. At this moment a change takes place,
for with this freedom Mrs. Mallard ceases to exist and Louise emerges. She has found
a new desire for life, which she now hopes will be long.
Louise returns to the friends and family who had so recently brought the news
which began her metamorphosis. It is then that the door opens and Louise s
husband enters their home, completely unaware of the train accident or the
indication that he had been involved. With Brently Mallard s return her new life,
her freedom, is lost to her in an instant, taken even quicker than it had been
discovered. How can she return to the suppression which had been such an integral
part of her marriage? Where will she find the resolve to return to the way of
thinking that was such a part of her being at the start of day? This loss is much too
great to bear.
Louise learns in a brief hour what it is like to be her own person, to live for herself
without the
The Origins Of Virtue By The Zoologist Matt Ridley
The zoologist Matt Ridley explores the question of why human beings are so
cooperative, even though we are built of selfish genes in his book: The Origins of
Virtue. The book lines up a large selection of examples of cooperation, utilizing
different scientific approaches such as economy, sociology, evolutionary biology,
anthropology (Rinaldo, 1997). It argues that in some human relationships natural
selectionpromotes virtue and trust, but at the same time humans are egoistic and
motivated by self interest (Leigh, 2000). The book begins with the description of the
genetic foundations of human nature and argues that cooperation is grounded in
evolutionary theory (Dugatkin, 1998) and describes cooperation and selfishness
utilizing the examples of ants, corals, bees, mother and embryo relationship. Next,
the division of labour is examined using the notion of Adam Smith about
specialization which is essential to trade and elevates the society to be more than
just the sum of its parts. Chapter 3 is devoted to the Prisoner s Dilemma from game
theory, which can be traced through the rest of the book. It deals with how people
are led by self interest or cooperation, how reciprocal humans and animals are
because eventually we gain more from cooperation, despite the temptation to cheat
(MarkГіczy Goldberg, 1997). This chapter is followed by the extensions and
conditions that are necessary to get reciprocal altruism, which is uniquely mastered by
humans. The next two chapters

Evidence of the Resurrection of Jesus
What the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Accomplished? In order to understand the
meaning of the death and resurrection of Jesus it is imperative to comprehend the
meaning of the Old Testament and the covenants that God made to Noah, Abraham,
Moses, and David. When God created the world and humans it was for God to inhabit
the world with humans. However, Adam and Eve the first humans that God created,
sin against Him by eating from the tree that God had forbidden. From that moment
on, the world fell into sin. God tries to renew the relationship that was intended for

Yet Solomon also drifted away from God. God never breaks his covenant and He
continues to be faithful time after time. However, he also punished Israel when they
were not faithful to the mosaic covenant. In order for the relationship to be restored,
God made the last covenant with Israel. He would write the covenant in their hearts.
We can see the fulfillment to this promise with Jesus.
The Messiah, Last Covenant
There is not a lot of information recorded regarding the early years of Jesus.
However, there is abundant information regarding the beginning of Jesus ministry.
Jesus s baptism was a symbol of the beginning of his ministry. The devil tried to
stop Jesus by tempting him but Jesus being the son of God did not give in to the
temptation. Jesus was focused on His mission to renew the relationship between
God and man kind. He knew he was the only one that could fix the damage done in
the beginning of time. Jesus message to people was to love one another but most
importantly it was a message of repentance. The time has come, he said. The
kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news! (Mark 1:15, New
International Version).
In order to reach his audience Jesus would speak in parables in that manner, his
message was delivered in a simple way to understand. In addition to his message of
repentance and love, Jesus performed many miracles in order to show that God was
with Him. When Jesus proclaimed to be the son of God,
Deforestation In Japanese Essay
Japan as a whole is a disaster prone country, mostly due to its position on the Pacific
Rim fault line, but also because of climatic and seismic factors. However, for the
purpose of this assignment I will be focusing specifically on the region of Tokyo
Yokohama. Yokohama is a city of 3.7 million located on the western coast of Tokyo
Bay, roughly 17 miles south of Tokyo. Yokohama is the second largest city in Japan,
beaten out only by Tokyo. The combined population of Tokyo and Yokohama
Metropolitan Area is 16,889,000 so roughly 17,000,000 people are living in 1,013

Tokyo is on the ocean side of the island, making the city incredibly susceptible.
Typhoons can cause flooding and landslides, which can be extremely dangerous to
people and cause destruction such as collapsed buildings and fallen trees. The
volcanoes belong to the Pacific Ring of Fire, caused by subduction zones of the
Pacific plate beneath continental and other oceanic plates along its margins. Japan
lies in a zone of extreme crustal instability. Mount Fuji poses the biggest threat the
Tokyo. Located only 60 miles from Tokyo, this stratovolcano is very much active
and could cause mass hysteria for many people when it next erupts. A volcanic
eruption can pour ash and lava all over the city. Over the years, Japan has taken lots of
steps to lighten the damage future earthquakes could inflict. Scientists are studying
ways to predict the occurrence of quakes more accurately. Authorities have put strict
laws on the construction buildings so they are more resistant to quakes. Many local
governments have adopted an earthquake prevention plan that outlines the steps that
should be taken in case a major earthquake strikes, including the regulation of traffic,
closing of banks and department stores, and evacuation of residents. The Tokyo
metropolitan government conducts periodic checks on the safety of buildings in
designated danger zones. At schools and workplaces, evacuation drills are held
several times a year.
Essay on Impetigo
Introduction: Impetigo is a skin infection in the form of a cluster of blisters that
usually occurs on the face, but can infect any area of the body. This skin infection
can affect all age groups but is most common with toddlers who develop a rash and
cannot or do not understand that they need to keep from rubbing or scratching the
rash because it could irritate and make the rash bigger and cause other skin or health
problems to occur, e.g. impetigo. It is considered as a common skin infection and the
most common in America. Ways to prevent and break the chain of infection is to
practice regular hand hygiene and sterilize materials and objects that had contact with
the infected area.
Etiology:

Signs and Symptoms: There are two types of impetigo infection: bullous impetigo,
large blisters and non bullous impetigo, crusted. Both are usually caused by staph
or strep. The infection appears as a fluid filled blister that starts out clear and then
cloudy. If popped, the skin underneath is red and raw and left untreated, can grow
and spread to other areas of the body and form a yellowish crust (Durani, 2011).
These blisters usually just appear on uncovered skin, such as the face and hands, but
can also be found anywhere on the body once they have taken root.
Mode of Transmission: Breaks in the skin would be a portal of entry in to the body
where the body becomes a reservoir for the bacteria to grow and spread. However,
even bacteria can grow on unbroken skin surfaces. In the case of impetigo, usually
this infection is a result of an already present rash, rash as a reaction due to poison
ivy, over wiping your nose when you have a cold, etc. The constant rubbing and
scratching breaks the skin and become infected from the already present bacteria that
live on the body like staph (Durani, 2011). Therefore, when infected, try to keep the
child or person from touching the area and be sure to washing your hands after
applying any ointment so as to not infect yourself. Also, impetigo can be transferred
to another area of the body through scratching and rubbing the already
The Testament Of Love In Porphyria s Lover By Robert
Browning
Porphyria s Lover by Robert Browning is a poem in which a psychotic man is driven
by his need for contentment. Porphyria s essence is not that of his, and he will do
anything to keep her for the moment. The testament of love that is, Porphyria s Lover
is quite disturbing. Porphyria s Lover suggests that nothing is more beautiful than
death.
The rain set early in to night, The sullen wind was soon awake,
It tore the elm tops down for spite, And did its worst to vex the lake: I listened with
heart fit to break.
When glided in Porphyria; straight She shut the cold out and the storm,
And kneeled and made the cheerless grate
The poem starts with Porphyria s love listening to an earnest storm. Robert Browning
s use of the words sullen, spite, and vex (line 2 3) give true metaphorical meaning
to this storm. This storm was not only raging outside of his cottage, but it was
raging inside of himself. He feels anger and resentment because of his solitude.
Porphyria s love hears his own emotions within the wind. The wind is slowly
making its way towards him, and the derangement is inevitable. He adds, I listened
with heart fit to break. (line 5). His heart is made to be destroyed, and the words
within his mind are not only strong but loathsome. Porphyria soon comes indoors
from what seems to be a harsh storm. As the wind roars Porphyria Shuts out the
storm (line 7). She contains him, the monster inside, by making him feel warm.
Porphyria starts a fire to enliven her love and the cottage they share. As the wind is
howling outside, Porphyria hasn t stopped the storm, but she has brought momentary
serenity. Porphyria gets settled in and sits beside her love, calling for him.
Murmuring how she loved me she Too weak, for all her heart s endeavour,
To set its struggling passion free From pride, and vainer ties dissever, And give
herself to me for ever.
But passion sometimes would prevail, Nor could to night s gay feast restrain
A sudden thought of one so pale For love of her, and all in vain: So, she was come
through wind and rain.
Be sure I looked up at her eyes Happy and proud; at last I knew
Porphyria worshipped me;

My Hawaii Vacation
It was the Summer of 2016 and My family and I were deciding where to go for
vacation. I had suggested we go to Hawaii. At first they said no because of how
expensive it was. But after a lot of convincing they finally agreed. I was very happy
and couldn t wait to go and think about how fun it was going to be. Time wasn t
passing by as fast as I wanted it to go. It was the day before the trip and we had to
start packing. Our plane was at 4 a.m. and my dad made us leave 3 hours earlier
because the airport was an hour away. We had to wait about an hour at the airport
and it was very boring. After lots of waiting, we were allowed to get on the plane.
Sadly we did not have first class seats so we had to go to the normal seat section.
We put our luggage and sat down in our seats. The plane took off after 30 minutes of
us being on the plane.
After 7 hours of being on the plane we got to our next stop. From there Hawaii was
about
3 hours away from the plane. We didn t have to wait much at the next airport and we
had gotten on our plane and were almost to Hawaii. When we landed in Hawaii there
was a driver waiting for us to take us to the hotel. The hotel was really big and looked
nice from the inside. Our room was also good. From the room balcony we could see
the ocean, It was a beautiful view. Let s go get some food . Said, my dad We should
go to the pizza place right by our hotel . I said Sure, let s go , said, my mom
The restaurant had more things than just pizza.

  • 1. Outline For An Argumentative Essay Crafting an essay on the topic "Outline for an Argumentative Essay" can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies in the need to strike a balance between presenting a coherent structure and developing compelling arguments. Firstly, you must thoroughly understand the intricacies of argumentation and be adept at organizing your thoughts logically. Constructing a solid outline involves careful consideration of the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Each section requires meticulous planning to ensure a seamless flow of ideas. The introduction should grab the reader's attention, provide background information, and end with a clear thesis statement. In the body paragraphs, you need to present your arguments cohesively, providing evidence and counterarguments to strengthen your position. Transitioning smoothly between points is crucial for maintaining the essay's overall coherence. Finally, the conclusion must succinctly summarize your main points, restate the thesis, and leave a lasting impression on the reader. This requires time and effort to sift through various sources and discern the most persuasive information. Additionally, anticipating and addressing potential counterarguments adds complexity to the task, as it demands a comprehensive understanding of the topic from multiple perspectives. Dr. King led the boycott in Montgomery bus system that lasted over a year (Faragher et al., 2009). Several movement activists today view Dr. King as one of the most conspicuous among some of the most exceptional movement tacticians, ideologues, and strategists, influential leaders in the United States (Carson, 1987). In addition, Dr. King is known as a Civil Rights leader, which stood behind President Johnson as he signed the Civil Rights Bill in 1964 (Columbia Southern University (CSU) n.d.). • 4. Fallacies To An Argument Throughout this school year, I ve learned that an argument it s the most common writing task, even though people don t notice that they are using it. Frequently, the goal of a writing is to describe or explain a point of view and support it with evidence. Indeed that is what makes an argument, to have a claim and try to convince people by giving examples that help illustrate the reason why the claim it s true or not. However, writingan effective argumentcan be challenging as it requires strategies to be convincing, as well as consideration of how to formulate it in order to avoid fallacies. On one hand, rhetorical strategies are necessary to write a persuasive argument; strategies such as an appeal to logos, ethos, or pathos, rhetorical devices, etc.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, it is important to consider the subject, the occasion, the audience, the purpose, the speaker, and the tone to ensure all of those connect adequately to each other and the message is delivered in a right way. On the other hand, fallacies are very common within arguments since finding a convincing justification can be difficult. Some fallacies dealing with tradition, patriotism, or ethnicity go unnoticed due to the fact that people use it often, but it lacks validity and it makes the argument weak. If one compares an argument to an analysis, the two are different since an argument serves to prove a point of view while an analysis it s more similar to an evaluation of how authors use rhetorical strategies. However, an argument and a synthesis essay are very similar, the only difference it s that in a synthesis argument the evidence comes from sources and not the mind of the writer. An argument can be difficult to write, but with the right rhetorical strategies, complexity such as a concessions and a counterarguments, and precaution to avoid fallacies, it can be highly

It can be very important to know where we come from and other things about our background helping us discover our purpose. In this book you can obviously see that Tyson is an outcast and isn t properly appreciated. Annabeth and many others, such as the gray ladies, didn t even want to be anywhere near him. In paragraph 6 on page 23 the text states, Annabeth gave him a look of distaste that I didn t quite understand. Everyone seemed to underestimate him. They thought that he was no good and useless, purely because of the fact that he was a cyclops. Everyone was so caught up on how much
  • 6. Differences Between Seventeenth Century England And 17th... The following are the primary differences between the political paths of seventeenth century England and the seventeenth century France. Factors that led their different political paths was the military concerns. Changes in military organization, weapons, and tactics that sharply increased the cost of warfare. Monarch sought new sales with the growing expenses. Seventeenth century is a time when the rulers of France were becoming more and more absolutist, Englandwas moving away from absolutism. The seventeenth century was the time of Louis XIV. He was known as the Sun King and declared himself “without equal.” He is generally considered to be the most powerful monarch to ever rule in Western Europe. Louis ruled with an iron fist, and never became dependent on a single advisor. He often spied on ministers, even opening their mail. In religious matters, Louis revoked the Edict of Nantes primarily to prevent religious differences from erupting into a civil conflict. Louis XIV took absolutism to extremes, claiming to be a servant of God (the divine right of Kings ) and dissolving France s only general assembly. Why absolutism failed in England but grew in France is due mainly to the political situation in each country when the idea was first introduced. In England, the English people had been proud of their rights as Englishmen which dated to the Magna Cartaof 1215. They were never ruled by an absolute monarch and had no intention of submitting. When Charles I attempted to dissolve Parliament and finally declared war on it, he was executed for treason, the first monarch to be executed by his own people. After a brief experiment with the Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell, Charles II returned to England as monarch. He was succeeded by James II who also isolated (divided) the English people and was forced to flee. At the invitation of Parliament William of Orange (in the Netherlands) and James daughter Mary were invited to assume the English throne; (this was the Glorious Revolutionof 1688) but were required of accepting the Throne to sign the English Bill of Rights, which stated the monarch could not suspend laws passed by Parliament, judges would hold office during good

  • 8. Corruption In A Small Place By Jamaica Kincaid Antigua is a possibly one of the most beautiful places to visit in the world, let alone the Caribbean. In A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid, she describes Antigua as place of prioritizing the foreigners and the white people. Regrettably, the country has been designed to become a tourist attraction over the years, causing the author s sense of Antiguato dissipate over time (p.23). Kincaid s perception of Antigua can be summed up by the unrepaired library, the past social and cultural interaction of the Antiguans (p. 42 43). To the tourist, the ruin library is possibly just another damage structure; however, to the locals and Kincaid, it has meaning, a place, a locale, and more importantly, a sense of place. In the story, it references the corruption of the politicians always trying to benefit themselves... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite the disturbance of place and the negative stigma of corruption, this paper argues that Antigua s single dependent economy (tourism) has caused the government to favor the monetary benefits over the social and cultural benefits. To explore the cultural and social demise Kincaid is telling through her story, this paper will explore the issues of corruption affecting the local s sense of place, but ultimately, corruption is not entirely bad for Antigua. Literature review Before exploring the underlying reasons and critiquing Jamaica Kincaid s A Small Place, it is important to establish a mutual understanding of place and how corruption could affect the Antiguans. According to Cresswell (2009), place refers to important and substantial site that combines location, locale, and sense of place (p.169). Location indicates the exact area of the site, while locale refers to the visible and tangible aspects of a place

The three people I gave the paper airplane instructions to are: Valerie a biology major, Pratap a business major, and Robbie a philosophy major. I was surprised when Robbie told me that. Valerie and Pratap were able to follow the instructions with little trouble. Robbie said the wording I used for the explanations were not clear. In our company we are employing mainly general operatives but also some more specialised cleaning staff beside administration and management employees. One of the most important advantage of employing in house staff it is their level of investment into our organisation. By working directly for our company personnel develops a strong sense of loyalty and belonging within the organisation overtime. Employees are feeling proud of the work they perform on an everyday basis, they take ownership of their responsibilities, and they then carry out. They can go that extra mile and push themselves more as they feel involved and a part of the team. By hiring outsource staff, we cannot expect the same level of involvement and integration. What Is The Critique Of The Marvel Movie Doctor Strange Critique Imagine, that the world you ve lived in, and known for your entire life was; in fact, a completely different world that you knew nothing about at all. A world that consisted of multiple dimensions and sorcerers protecting our world from evils that subsist in other realms. In this exact moment, you could be standing in the middle of a battle happening in a mirror image and not even know it. After viewing Marvel Film Doctor Strange, the graphics will have you questioning if all these things could actually be nonfictional; indeed, you may even find yourself wondering if you too might have the power of mind to enter the Astral Plane. Although the graphics of this film are incredible there are still some faults in this movie pertaining to onscreen relationship connections between certain characters, and the underdevelopment of some characters. Leading role Dr. Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch was executed perfectly throughout the movie. His character did a full three hundred and sixty degrees turn around during the movie and the buildup during this turn around was very clear, leaving no room for confusion. His character development had some very key moments to keep the audience fully engaged in his healing process. To set the mood for Dr. Strange, they had a moment where Strange had just finished brain surgery and was confronted by Dr. Palmer (Rachel McAdams) for a second opinion about a case that she had, where he, within minutes had resolved and knew how to save
  • 13. Essay about Legislation against Pit Bulls and Owners in... If you re a pit bull owner in Sioux City, Iowa, you are faced with certain ordinances that make it more difficult to own and keep your dog. This is Sioux City s attempt to keep its citizens safe and prevent the abuse and harm of the pitbull. The city is trying to promote safety and animal advocacy. This ordinance is not effective because it punishes the animal and not the owner; it also does not take into account the animals individual personality. Legislators should create laws that consider all dogs based on their individual behavior and hold owner accountable for their animals. These types of ordinances are referred to Breed Specific Legislation or BSL. When lawmakers impose BSL on communities they are singling out specific... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these dogs are so similar in appearance not even the experienced eye can tell them apart. Those that support BSL believe that dangerous dogs are dangerous because of its breed and physical characteristics and not its individual behavior. Furthermore, any animal that has the general characteristics of a pit bull type dog is considered to be a pit bull as well according to Sioux City s law (Sioux City Animal Control). Not only is a dog deemed dangerous just because of its breed, it is also dangerous due to its appearance. This creates controversy because the dogs are classified as dangerous and subjected to following Sioux City s BSL without having a chance to prove themselves otherwise. These dogs are considered guilty without the chance to prove themselves innocent. Responsible owners have followed the laws that Sioux City has passed. They have been willing to jump through hoops to do whatever it takes to keep their beloved dog in their home. On the other hand, irresponsible dog owners have taken a much more careless approach to breed specific legislation. Often times, irresponsible dog owners do not care about the overall well being of their dog. To these people, instead of doing whatever it takes to keep their pet, they simply surrender the dog to a shelter when the going gets tough. Sioux City officials often exercise their right to euthanize these dogs. Section 7.10 of the ordinance

The theme of fear begins to appear in the story when they all saw there was a shadow. They thought it was the monster, but when Charlie killed it , he realized that it was Pete Van Horn. When everyone saw that Charlie killed Pete Van Horn, they were so afraid that they accused Charlie of him killing Pete Van Horn on purpose. Everyone was so scared when they saw the shadow. Charlie didn t think before he shot the monster , he just wanted to protect everyone. A quote from this story that supports my claim is, You were so quick to kill, Charlie, and you were so quick to tell us who we had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well some of us won t! This shows that Charlie was accusing Steve because Steve didn t even take action, and Charlie at least tried to protect and save everyone from the monster . They wouldn t have reacted that way if they weren t so afraid. and it was just an accident and Charlie was just protecting people around him. Later in the story, Lese s car started turning on, but he was acting like he had NO IDEA why the group of people had come over to his house. They came because they were very sucpicious of him when 1st. His car turned on, and 2nd why he didn t even come outside to see when this big space ship was flying over all the houses on Maple St. And that s why they were so suspicious of Lese. In the text Lese said, You were so quick to kill, Charlie, and you were so quick to tell us who we had to be careful of. Though Lese was so scared because He thought he was getting blamed by Charlie, and then he started blaming Charlie for everything even though Lese knew most of what was going on. In conclusion, everyone should know that, you do not blame anyone for at least trying to protect you, and accusing you because you are afraid and having a reaction. I think the author included this theme in their text because, they want people to know not to judge/accuse people of what they do on

This, she does by relating herself to the character of Pip and noticed she is part of the story but has no real part in it. Mr. Watts had given us kids another world to spend the night in. We could escape to another place. This attraction is especially strong for Matilda, whose father abandoned her and her mother to live in the city; like Pip, she feels the loss of her parent keenly. For Matilda, Pip represents hope I knew things could change because they had for Pip (p51) which she celebrates by constructing a seashell shrine on the beach in Pip s name. As the battle between the island rambos and the government supported redskin missionary s rage in the hills behind her village, Great Expectations offers a relief in that it contained a world that was whole and made sense, unlike ours. According to Barack Obama s administration, they have approved regulations that will force automakers to nearly double the average gas mileage of all new cars and trucks they sell in America by 2025 (Krisher 1). The Pros And Cons Of Wilful And Wanton Doctrine The child injured on our client s property would most likely be ruled a trespasser by the courts, as he was not invited onto the property and willingly admitted such. A property owner only has the duty to not wilfully or wantonly injure a trespasser. Leffler v. Sharp, 891 So. 2d 152 (Miss. 2004). Wilful and wanton injuryhas been defined by the courts as the conscious and intentional disregard of and indifference to the rights and safety of others, which the defendant knows or should know is reasonably likely to result in injury, damage, or other harm. Estrada v. Consol. Util. Servs., Inc., No. 5:10 CV 161 RLV, 2011 WL 2174467, *2 (W.D.N.C. There is an exception which allows for premises liability in the absence of wilful or wanton injury to a trespasser. The exception is premises liability under the attractive nuisance doctrine. There are two main purposes of the attractive nuisance doctrine. First, the attractive nuisance doctrine acknowledges that children will trespass and may be injured while doing so. The doctrine considers this, and then weighs the interest in protecting children with its second purpose: to avoid an unreasonable burden on the property owner when ensuring their property is safe for trespassing children. Liability to an injured child, that was either too young to appreciate

Basic Fundamentals And Design Parameters Of Patch CHAPTER 3 BASIC FUNDAMENTALS AND DESIGN PARAMETERS OF PATCH 3.1Introduction As we all know, Selection of antenna is very important in designing of successful rectenna because antenna is responsible for how much power is received by the circuitry following after the antenna. This chapter describes the theory of antenna and its property, design process, simulations and fabrication of an Microsrip antenna that operates within the microwave frequency range. First we start with a brief explanation of the main design parameters of an antenna then we briefly explain the advantages of using microstrip antennas in these applications [4 18]. After all the parametric simulations a final antenna version was chosen and subsequently built. An antenna also known as midair is an electrical expedient which translates electric power into radio waves, and apposite to it. It is typically cast off with a radio transmitter or radio receiver. In broadcast, a radio transmitter deliveries an electric current wavering at radio frequency (i.e. a high frequency alternating current ) to the antenna s terminuses, and the antenna produces the energy from the current as electromagnetic waves (radio waves). They view their side of the argument as a serious and major policy decision that can affect Americans for generations to come. Their first point in their favor is that while police and other law enforcement agencies are trying to enforce drug laws, minorities are disproportionately targeted. They say that minorities, especially African American males, are subject to arrest more often, are incarcerated at a higher rate and serve longer sentences in prison ( Against , 2017). Law enforcement tends to enforce drug laws in areas that have been determined to be high crime and often, these areas are predominately African American communities. As the population of cities, especially the inner city, continue to grow over time, the number of people imprisoned for drug offenses will continue to rise ( Against , 2017). God wants more Christians to stay in the business world, the arts, entertainment, politics, journalism, etc. and bring their Christian convictions and world view to bear on how they conduct their business, write songs or films, or paint pictures. One of the reasons for the recent decline of Christian impact on our culture is because too many Christians have left the fields of science, math, film, art, journalism, and especially politics, and hence there was a vacuum left that the humanist, skeptic, atheist, and agnostic filled. So, now when in recent years Christians have tried to boldly make an impact on culture in these various fields, especially politics, we are finding the whole world view of our culture has changed and the world view of absolutes, right and wrong, the Ten Commandments, prayer, belief in God, convictions about abortion and homosexuality as sin are scoffed at, laughed at, labeled as intolerant, and even pushed out by media blitz or ignoring the facts or not giving Christians opportunity to voice their opinion. When considering a call to ministry, let me encourage you to not dichotomize too sharply between the secular and sacred. God wants to use all kinds of vocations to both disciple the nations ( Matt. 28:19 ) and be salt and light in the culture ( Matthew 5:13 16) and have dominion and manage the earth (Genesis 1:26 28) Inner Calling and External Confirmation: Subjective and Objective Criterion Is a call to

After all this was assembled, the Inca would sit in the plaza of Haucaypata, which is the large plaza of Cuzco. There the children and other sacrifices walked around the statues of the Creator, Sun, Thunder, and Moon that were already in the plaza for this purpose. They made two turns around them, and after finishing, the Inca summoned the provincial priests and had the offerings divided into four parts for the four suyos: Collasuyo, Chinchaysuyo, Antisuyo, and Cuntisuyo, which are the four regions into which this land is divided. Personal ministry is about connecting people with Christ, so that they are able to think as he would have them think, desire what he says is best, and do what he calls them to do even if their circumstances never get fixed. It involves exposing hurt, lost, and confused people to God s glory, so that they give up their pursuit of their own glory and live for his. The topics on spiritual formation and assimilation in our churches were extremely beneficial. I have come to learn and understand why self care is critical for any leader. I never realized how dangerous it is if a person is always saying yes to different meetings and commitments in ministry. I also discovered the benefits of saying no sometimes to these same commitments. If a person keeps going without taking a pause for reflection or self care it is possible, it can have an effect on the individual s health and longevity in ministry. As I learn the importance of self care to prevent burnout or stress I am encouraged to teach others the same importance. Lack of self care can have a grave effect on the church, family, and community. Many pastors over the years have decided to walk away from the call because they were burned out. It is important that I make self care a crucial part of my daily routine now, so when more responsibilities or expectations come my way I would be prepared to handle it better. When it comes to self care of our congregation there are times when we miss the boat on taking care of them. The assimilation class on guarding the church s back door has helped to put things into perspective for me. The Origins Of Virtue By The Zoologist Matt Ridley The zoologist Matt Ridley explores the question of why human beings are so cooperative, even though we are built of selfish genes in his book: The Origins of Virtue. The book lines up a large selection of examples of cooperation, utilizing different scientific approaches such as economy, sociology, evolutionary biology, anthropology (Rinaldo, 1997). It argues that in some human relationships natural selectionpromotes virtue and trust, but at the same time humans are egoistic and motivated by self interest (Leigh, 2000). The book begins with the description of the genetic foundations of human nature and argues that cooperation is grounded in evolutionary theory (Dugatkin, 1998) and describes cooperation and selfishness utilizing the examples of ants, corals, bees, mother and embryo relationship. Next, the division of labour is examined using the notion of Adam Smith about specialization which is essential to trade and elevates the society to be more than just the sum of its parts. Chapter 3 is devoted to the Prisoner s Dilemma from game theory, which can be traced through the rest of the book. It deals with how people are led by self interest or cooperation, how reciprocal humans and animals are because eventually we gain more from cooperation, despite the temptation to cheat (MarkГіczy Goldberg, 1997). This chapter is followed by the extensions and conditions that are necessary to get reciprocal altruism, which is uniquely mastered by humans. The next two chapters

The infection appears as a fluid filled blister that starts out clear and then cloudy. If popped, the skin underneath is red and raw and left untreated, can grow and spread to other areas of the body and form a yellowish crust (Durani, 2011). These blisters usually just appear on uncovered skin, such as the face and hands, but can also be found anywhere on the body once they have taken root. Porphyria s essence is not that of his, and he will do anything to keep her for the moment. The testament of love that is, Porphyria s Lover is quite disturbing. Porphyria s Lover suggests that nothing is more beautiful than death. The rain set early in to night, The sullen wind was soon awake, It tore the elm tops down for spite, And did its worst to vex the lake: I listened with heart fit to break. When glided in Porphyria; straight She shut the cold out and the storm, And kneeled and made the cheerless grate The poem starts with Porphyria s love listening to an earnest storm. Robert Browning s use of the words sullen, spite, and vex (line 2 3) give true metaphorical meaning to this storm. This storm was not only raging outside of his cottage, but it was raging inside of himself. He feels anger and resentment because of his solitude. Porphyria s love hears his own emotions within the wind. The wind is slowly making its way towards him, and the derangement is inevitable. He adds, I listened with heart fit to break. (line 5). His heart is made to be destroyed, and the words within his mind are not only strong but loathsome. Porphyria soon comes indoors from what seems to be a harsh storm. As the wind roars Porphyria Shuts out the storm (line 7). She contains him, the monster inside, by making him feel warm. Porphyria starts a fire to enliven her love and the cottage they share. As the wind is howling outside, Porphyria hasn t stopped the storm, but she has brought momentary serenity. Porphyria gets settled in and sits beside her love, calling for him. Murmuring how she loved me she Too weak, for all her heart s endeavour, To set its struggling passion free From pride, and vainer ties dissever, And give herself to me for ever. But passion sometimes would prevail, Nor could to night s gay feast restrain A sudden thought of one so pale For love of her, and all in vain: So, she was come through wind and rain.
