Mla 5 Paragraph Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "MLA 5 Paragraph Essay" can be quite challenging for several
reasons. First and foremost, the requirement to adhere to the MLA (Modern Language
Association) format adds an extra layer of complexity. This format comes with specific
guidelines for citing sources, formatting the paper, and creating a bibliography, demanding
meticulous attention to detail.
Crafting a 5-paragraph essay within the confines of MLA guidelines also requires a
comprehensive understanding of the topic at hand. One must be adept at formulating a clear
thesis statement, developing coherent arguments across three main paragraphs, and concluding
the essay effectively, all while maintaining proper citation standards.
Moreover, managing the essay's structure within the limitations of five paragraphs can be
restrictive. Balancing the introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion while ensuring
each section contributes meaningfully to the overall argument requires careful planning and
organization.
Additionally, finding and incorporating relevant sources to support arguments adds another layer
of difficulty. Properly integrating quotes, paraphrasing, and avoiding plagiarism are crucial
aspects that demand a keen eye for detail.
Furthermore, achieving a balance between depth of analysis and brevity within the confines of a
5-paragraph structure can be a daunting task. Students often find it challenging to delve into the
intricacies of a topic while adhering to the prescribed essay length.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the subject of "MLA 5 Paragraph Essay" is no simple feat.
It demands proficiency in MLA formatting, a deep understanding of the chosen topic, strategic
structuring, skillful integration of sources, and a delicate balance between depth and brevity.
However, with dedication and attention to detail, one can navigate these challenges successfully.

A Critique Of The Social Contract
A Critique of the Social Contract According To John Locke
Introduction
John Locke embedded his political ideas in the form of two treatises popularly
known as Two Treatises on Civil Government that he authored in 1690. In the first
treatise, Locke disagrees with the political and social philosophy of Robert Filmer in
his work known as Patriacha, authored in 1654. The second treatise contains Locke s
viewpoint on political philosophy where he expounds the origin, authority and the
significance of a civil government. In addition, the treatise contains his view on the
state of nature, the social contract, political groupings, types of government and a
citizen s right to own private property.
The Social Contract Theory

In other words, human beings can be depended upon based on the fact that they are
rational. Unlike Hobbes, Locke believed that human beings are unselfish and social.
It is only in exceptional cases that some human beings are selfish, overly competitive
and aggressive otherwise; most human beings are able to rule themselves through the
law of nature or through rational thinking. Human beings are born free and are equal.
The presence of reason in human beings ensures that they remain rational in their
dealings. This factor enables human beings to discover the right behavior as seen in
their control of emotions, anger, and expression of love among others. Instinctively,
man desires to live in peace and harmony with fellow men.
In regard to the state of nature, Locke contrasts Hobbes by asserting that there was
law, order, peace and private property. Political legitimacy and power is derived
from the state of nature since according to Locke, man has always lived in perfect
equality and freedom where human beings order their actions and use their property
within the confines of the law of nature. However, the state of nature does not imply
misuse of liberty but using such liberty for the good of self
Tray Smith Research Paper
Tray Smith was the best player in the state of California, and he already was
committed to play basketball at Duke the following year. It was the state
championship against Mater Dei, a team that Smith had already badly beaten in an
early December clash against the Monarchs. The score was 55 53, and Tray was sent
to the line to finish the gameoff. He calmly stepped to line, hoping to sink these 2
free throws, like he d done so many times before. He took the first shot, and it was
off the back iron of the hoop and right back to him at the line. The crowd groaned
now knowing that Mater Dei could win it, or tie it and send it to overtime. He got
the ball for the second free throw and threw up another brick. The Monarchs grabbed
the rebound, dribbled down the court, and with 3 seconds to go in the... Show more

Essay about The Cat and his Master
The Cat and his Master
Puss in Boots is a strange little folk tale in which a talking cat performs deeds of
heroism in order to further his master s lot in life. It is saddled with a moral which
implies that through hard work and ingenuity one can rise above his station. This
hardly seems to be the case, however, when we look at the contributions made by the
miller s youngest son and master of the puss himself. Furthermore, the symbolism
peppered throughout the tale would seem to indicate that there is more going on.
The tale begins with the death of a miller, who leaves his sole possessions to his
three sons. The youngest of the sons winds up with nothing but what he believes to
be a lowly cat, which he is convinced will be good ... Show more content on

The cat in turn becomes the son and the main protagonist of our story and the only
character to go through a transformation. When viewed at this angle, the moral
retains its truth.
The deeper story here seems to be a part coming of age, part underdog overcoming
the odds tale. The story begins with a miller. In a pre industrial society, the miller
would have had an important position, akin to a woodcutter. The miller was
responsible for grinding corn into meal, essential in making bread and other
staples. His death represents a lack of a provider in his sons lives. The two elder
sons are granted an inheritance that will allow them to make a living, but not the
youngest, who gets the cat. The cat, a possession of the miller, also finds himself
without a provider, and hatches a plan to prevent the son from eating him. In the
course of the story, the son becomes as reliant on the cat as he was on his father. It
is at this point that the cat replaces the son as a formal story element. In many
respects, the cat and the son are two halves of the same character, their fates
interlocked with one another. This is a deliberate device which reflects the medieval
superstition that cats were somehow linked to their masters, as Robert Darnton
suggests in his article The Great Cat Massacre.
The cat asks for some boots to protect his feet from the thorny undergrowth. Putting
boots on the cat reinforces the superstition and creates an

That day when I heard the discourse about the body from Gautama, I put forth

Candidiasis is a disease in which a fungal infection of the mucous membranes is
found in the mouth and throat. The organism may cause infections in other locations,
such as nails, skin (diaper rash), vagina, and the gastrointestinal tract. There are many
types of fungus that live in the human body including candida. Candida is a type of
yeast that normally lives in small amounts in areas like your mouth and belly, or skin
without causing any issues. The immune systemand the body s bacteriausually keep
Candida in balance. When this balance is interrupted, it can result in an overgrowth
of the Candida fungus, causing it to get infected. The infection is called Candidiasis.

Culture And Its Effects On Our Culture
Abstract
It s a given that culture powerfully influences thoughts, emotions and behaviors. In
fact, culture operates at primary cognitive, perceptual and motivational levels. Culture
is an important part of our blueprint for operation within our physical and social
worlds. We are an insecure species and cultureoffers us a reduction of anxiety through
its standard rules of thought, emotion and behavior. Culture offers predictability in an
often unpredictable world. We see things through a cultural lens that tints, magnifies,
shrinks and otherwise shapes our perceptions. Our culture is a mindset that we
developed during childhood socialization. The structural integrity, coherency and
stability of our personalities are rooted in our culture. ... Show more content on

Culture is designed to allow people a piece of sanity and balance within their
lifestyle. When it comes to culture many people have rules and customs that they
have been around all their lives. Which means that the effects of human behavior may
vary from person to person. Due to the fact that there are different cultures and
diversity in communities, we are able to learn different languages, interact with other
people and learn different things about people who are different.
Verbal communications is one of the most important skills that are needed when it
comes to verbally expressing themselves. When we talking about culture, verbal
communication is very important because it allows people to socialize with one
another. Sometimes culture can have barriers when it comes to communicating with
other people. For example, some people culture consist of them hugging or kissing
one another when they greet someone. In another culture they might find that
offensive. It can mean one thing to us and in another culture it might mean something
totally different. Cultures could take things as an insult therefore causing issues
between the two. But not only are greetings different, any type of verbal interaction
could be as well. For instance, one culture may find it abnormal to approach a person
at a party spontaneously whereas another culture may find it in their morals to
approach whoever they meet eyes with and ask them to join the festivities. You can

Comparing The Works Of Genji And Lady Akashi
In the Tale of Genji, there are various poems that make an appearance, each holding
a special meaning for the creator and the recipient. The waka poetry pervades the life
of the Heian Court, revealing the character s personality, illuminating their thoughts,
and expressing the love and desires they have. Thus giving us, the readers a
clarification of the relationships and progression of the characters. To answer the
prompt of who would I date based on the poetry, I would say that there is no one in
particular I would date. Not because their poetry wasn t romantic or didn t provoke
a dialogue, but rather because if the character was alive today, I think, it wouldn t
necessarily have the same effect as it did during the Heian period. I do enjoy... Show

If clouds or smoke in this case has an action attached or shows movement, then it
could also symbolize the passing or separation of these lovers. This meaning can be
seen in the poem above; thus reminding Genji of his lovers, whether they are alive or
dead.
The usage of poetry to express a characters interest or their feelings can cause a well
of emotions from the readers, possibly because of past experiences or because the
situation the character was in is relatable. I can t speak for others, but some of the
poems present in the Tale of Genji, and the situation that brought upon that poem, I
can relate to and understand why the character felt that way.
To quote the poet Robert Frost, poetry ...is a reaching out toward expression; an effort
to find fulfillment. A complete poem is one where an emotionhas found its thought
and the thought has found the words. It is difficult to put feelings into words,
because someone else might not share the same feelings, so, once we know the words
to use the emotions transform into words that we can then convey to

Comparing Gilgamesh And Noah s Ark
Many ancient legends recur in different cultures. The general theme gives the same
message or just has striking similarities but each story differs in many aspects. New
cultures develop from the older ones. They do so by taking stories from older ones
and further developing it to mirror their own time. One story that has been repeated
in several cultures is the legend of the disastrous flood. The epic of Gilgameshand the

several occasions. The Epic Of Gilgamesh is an epic poem from ancient
Mesopotamia that is said to be the earliest surviving great work of literature hence,
the epic was set 5000 years before the Bible, yet the same situation occurred in the

Economic System And Economic Systems
For this essay I will be focusing in on the three different economic system, which are
known as centrally planned economy, mixed economy, and market economy. I will
also be explaining why internationalizing firms should be aware of the differences
between all three economic systems and what roles should the government be taking
in the free market systems. Before I begin defining the different economic systemsI
would like to first explain what an economic systemis. Every country differs in what
economic system is being used. An economic system is a system of producing
goods and the exchange of goods and services. An economic systems also includes
a process which is used to allocate its assets. Culture can have a big impact because
of a country s economy. Just as a country s economy state differs from country to
country so does its culture. Why does it have an effect on a country s culture we
ask? The difference between having an individualist or a collectivist culture is where
we see it. In an individualist culture we see more people being rewarded then we see
in a collectivist culture. Being rewarded with things such as low tax rates which
inspires them to continue with their activities of their culture.
As mentioned in Chapter 7 no nation is either considered to be fully individualist or
fully collectivist. National economies are arranged on a scale in which we see the
three different economic systems. The scale is setup in a way in which centrally
planned economy is

dwarves have been trying to return home for many, many years. Bilbo thought
about his friends feelings, not just his own. He was willing to help them even
when it meant danger for himself. Bilbo shows courage in the face of danger. He
did not turn back when he faced the trolls, spiders, goblins, or even Smaug. Bilbo
had never encountered any dangerous monsters before this adventure. Still, he
defied them all, and many times alone. He had to rely only on himself. Luckily,
Bilbo was also very clever. He was able to have Gollum show him the way out of
the Goblin cave while avoiding him instantaneously. Also, when the dwarves were
imprisoned by the wood elves, Bilbo created a plan that lead to their escape. If it
were not for his masterful ideas, then the dwarves may have rotted in prison. In the
Misty Mountains, he was able to talk to Smaug and still live to tell the tale. Though,
Bilbo did not start off as a hero. It was throughout his adventure that he became
Qualitative Credibility
Introduction The credibility of quality research mainly sets on the following
elements: 1.The techniques used for rigorous methods that are used for the collection
of data. The analysis and the attention to the various issues like validity, reliability and
triangulation 2.The credibility of the researcher that is dependent on the experience
of the person along with the track record and the status obtained. 3.The philosophical
belief is the value of the enquiry and the application of diverse qualitative methods for
better sampling. Credibility of the methodology There are techniques for the usage

Cultural Factors Of Milka Milk
Back ground of the study
Most of the Sri Lankan people are using dairy product to get required vitamins and
mineral and as well as nutrition meal. The consumption of dairy products has
increased dramatically in the 170s when the government adopted open economic
policies. Currently Sri Lanka is about 15 20 percent self sufficient with its milk

How Did Pericles Grow As A Political Leader
Pericles Research Paper Pericles was one of the greatest political leaders in Greece
at the time. Not only did he affect Greece s future but he was also a huge influence on
the modern democratic world. It was under his leadership that Athenian culture
flourished and that the idea of equality became more universal. There s not much on
Pericleschildhood, however we do know that he was born into a rich family in
Athens and his father was a war hero from the Persian Wars. When Pericles was still
just a toddler, Persia was defeated at the Battle of Marathon. At the age of 13, young
Pericles had to evacuate Athens with his family during the Battle of Salamis. Then, at
the age of 17, Pericles inherited a large fortune. With this large fortune,
The Power Of Adolf Hitler
There are many powerful leaders around the world that are one with the words, but
one really stands out: Adolf Hitler. He was very persuasive and he used the power
of words to his competence to make people stand beside him. Hitler was not a
pleasant man, but he was a very astute one; he could convince so many people that
Jewish people were ominous in a couple of short sentences. Additionally, he was so
strong in various ways and that is why one may think of Adolf Hitleras the most
effective in using the power of words and language to influence others than any
other man. Hitler was always very persuasive, and three reasons why include: the
way he uses words to make the message persuasive, how he uses propaganda to
convince people, and the way he uses words to create emotion. To begin, the way
Hitler uses words to make the message persuasive is very imperative. Adolf Hitler
always convinced people that Jews were abhorrent people, and the way he did that
was scare tactics. People frequently make decisions off of fear, so he chose to tell
people about the scary things that Jews would do if they took over. To add, this
frightened Germans, making them rancor all Jews, which put Hitler in the right
direction to becoming a powerful leader. Even though everything Hitler said about
Jews was apocryphal, he made a lot of people believe that it was accurate, because
of the way he convinced people and got them on his side. In the political field he

What Is The Picture Of Dorian Gray Gothic
Oscar Wilde presents the use of gothic literature in his novel, The Picture of Dorian
Gray. Gothic literature is a genre of literature where elements of gloom and horror are
often used. For instance, deaths, murders, and curses are all examples of what could
occur in a gothic novel. The Picture of Dorian Gray is an example gothic literature by
means of gothic conventions being portrayed through characters, in settings, and
during events. Gothic conventions are being portrayed through characters throughout
the novel. For instance, Lord Henry Wotton is being used to represent the devil, a
gothic convention. At the beginning when Lord Henry is introduced, he is seen to be
a wicked and cunning man who uses his talents of persuasion to seduce... Show more

There is not logical or reasonable explanation for why the picture ages while
Dorian himself does not. However, the most supernatural event occurs when
Dorian dies and ...hanging upon the wall was a splendid portrait of [Dorian] as
they had last seen him...exquisite youth and beauty...lying on the floor was a dead
man... [Dorian] was withered, wrinkled, and loathsome of visage (229). Dorian
stabs the portrait not himself; however, it is magical that the portrait recovers to
its original state while Dorian dies with a knife in his heart. The aging portrait
shows a sense of supernatural forces which is known as a gothic convention. Along
with the painting showing a sense of magic per say, the yellow book Lord Henry
gives to Dorian also is an example of a magical object used in the novel. The
yellow book fascinates Dorian through means of forgetting how time was going
and allowing all the sins of the world to pass before him. The sense of magic can
be seen when Wilde relates the yellow book to be sort of an obsession and shares
that Dorian could not free himself from its influences. The yellow book has a magical
power over Dorian creating the gothic literature
The Effect Of Bubbles And How They Affect Investment
2. The definition of bubbles and how they affect investment This section will focus
on the analysis about how bubbles affect investors behaviors. Since bubbles are
closely connected with crises, doing research on investors behaviors about
overvalued assets can help economists to understand crises fundamental. Therefore it
is good for governments to take actions to prevent these crises. The first part of this
section will describe the definition of bubbles in detail, and the second part will
illustrate relevant empirical evidences to further explain how bubbles affect investing
behaviors. 2.1 Theoretical research C. Kindleberger (1978) first defined bubbles as a
continuously increasing process of assets price. This phenomenon... Show more

Finally he found investors behaviors in terms of the overvalued assets played an
important role in this process. Joesph E. Stiglitz (1990) agreed with the theory above,
and suggested that if investors thought assets could be sold over their expectation,
they would do more investment, and then assets actual price would increase, which
also means the bubbles would appearance. He thought it is important to prove the
existence of bubbles, since they can implicate the future decrease of assets price.
Therefore governments could take actions to control investors behaviors and avoid
crises. But by taking the 1960s crisis as an example, he found bubbles existence was
difficult to test. It is because bubbles would not exist only if the assets discount rate
increased equal to the assets price, which means the assets value would be equal to
the discount value. But this equilibrium is not expectable. Then Stiglitz proposed that
the markets might have multiple equilibriums, so he collected many economists
thoughts about this opinion. But he found models of different economists were
developed in terms of different methods, so they cannot reach an agreement. But he
suggested that it is still important for economists to analyze this problem in further
studies. Basing on the research of other economists, Robert S. Chirinko and Huntley
Schaller finally built a widely accepted model, Q equation, to test bubbles existence.

The Flynn Effect is the tendency of IQ scores to change over time, and specifically,
the apparent increase in intelligence in the general population evidenced by a steady
increase in IQ scores. It was first noticed by James Flynn (The Flynn Effect). As years
went by and IQ tests were restandardized, it was noticed that when previous tests
were taken the outcomes were better on the previous tests than the tests that were in
current circulation. The Flynn Effect has a number of factors that can attribute to the
effect taking place. One factor in particular that has been discussed by many different
people is the factor of overall better nutrition. Overall better nutrition has occurred in
many places over the last 100 years or so. This improvement has been linked to head
growth, earlier maturation of children, increased height, and faster growth
(Williams). Increased head growth most likely means that human brains are growing
which can subsequently be linked to the increased intelligence that is proven by IQ
scores. The earlier maturation and faster growth of children can also be linked to how
a population s intelligence improves over many years. The Flynn Effect and nutrition
are related through the correlation of increased intelligence and increased overall
nutrition. The effects of the Flynn effect on nutrition and vice versa are extensive. The

liberalizing Indian life and general insurance industry. However, due to political
instability the bill could not be ratified by the Indian parliament. The bill was

1999. With the passing of the bill the monopoly position of LIC was removed and
private companies were allowed to operate in the Indian insurance market. After the
IRDA bill was passed in the Parliament, private insurance companies were given
licenses to operate in the Indian market. Joint ventures between Indian and foreign

The Models Of The Automotive Industry
As general of a concept the automotive industry is, as time goes, anybody will start
to observe the different car platforms and consumer markets that emerge from the
growing industry. One of such platforms created was the Pony Car platform, or more
colloquially know as just the 2 door sports car platform. And with this new brand of
car came a new brand advertising as well as consumer. Consumers will start to
familiarize themselves with the various new ways of advertising through the years in
this market. The American consumer sports car market had one of the most dynamic
advertising markets of the automotive industry, it changed with the decades and
contributed to the creation of the sports car enthusiast demographic we know today....

These very appeals as well as what Fowles writes about in his article are very
relatable to the automotive industry.
Cars have been an essential part of living for some time now. Ever since mass
production allowed for the wide spread distribution of cars, they have been paramount
to everything from our economy to our daily commute. Globalization along with the
growing market caused competition among manufacturers, and so manufacturers had
to find ways to appeal to the new competitive consumer market. Automotive
advertising started to take a new form and targeted peoples particular interests,
emotions, and desires instead of being strictly informative or utilitarian. Even the car
themselves had to change along with the decades to provide luxuries and compete
with the market. Although many car manufactures took steps in the right direction,
one great example of this changing market is the 1955 Ford Thunderbird.
For Ford, the Thunderbird was a luxury consumer family car platform that started
in 1955. It featured specifications that fared well in the competitive market. The
Thunderbird could have come in either four seats or two seated versions. Ford
advertised the car like they would have any other car, however, the advertising
ultimately did not fit for the two car version of the car. Because of this, the two door
Ford Thunderbird is somewhat of a rarity now due to not having been so successful.
For Ford, its advertising

The age group with the highest reported creative personality was the group of adults

It is in this context that the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest is identified as a
possible medium to investigate the nature and effect of a psychiatric system as
accurately portrayed through this particular film, The film depicts the psychiatric

effect of the staff members behaviour on the patient s psychotherapeutic growth,
highlights the staff s ignorance and lack of knowingness of their individual
responsibility, contributing to the psychopathology of not only the patients , but also
the system as a whole. The interactional style of the psychiatric staff, as portrayed in
the film, serves to contribute to the deterioration of the mental and psychological well

Moreover, the pyramids boasted several other astronomical and geographical
equivalents in its architecture: The Great Pyramid s sides were aligned with each
cardinal direction, with the North side facing true north with only 3/60th degree

astronomical calendar as well. The spring equinox was marked when no shadow
was cast by the Great Pyramid due to its latitude and angle (Crystalinks). In order
to build these massive structures, there were several possible techniques
employed to lift, transport, and place the large limestone blocks that the pyramids
were comprised. The most probable method of transit being that the Egyptians
pulled the materials on sleds of cedar wood along oil or water dampened sand or
rails (Baldridge 1). Other theories discussed included the conjecture of John D.
Bush (1977), who assumed that the blocks were rolled using cut out circular
segments. For the purpose of lifting the blocks, a complex system of levers
utilizing counterweights and ramps were most likely used (Baldridge 1996);
however, arguments can be made for the use of one large ramp wrapping around the
Great Pyramid (Hadingham p 51) as performed by Mark Lehner, an archaeologist.
While several theories of construction of the pyramids have been made, a notable
theory was found in an engineer s belief that circular wedges surrounding the blocks

The Events Factors Caused By Driving And Low Standard...
As the preceding Tables 5 8 depicted, five scenario factors were investigated. First,
drivers at Path 1 have higher speed and low standard deviation of speed, standard
deviation of lane deviation, and acceleration noise than other paths. Vehicles from
the on ramp before toll plaza (i.e., Paths 4 and 5), as shown in Figure 3 (a), have
lower speed and higher dangerous behavior (i.e., standard deviationof speed,
acceleration noise, and standard deviation of lane deviation) compared to Path 1
at all zones. It can be explained that vehicles from the on ramp perform sudden lane
changing maneuvers before and after the toll plaza. Additionally, vehicles from
Path 3 which is driving through the express lanes to the off ramp after the toll
plaza have also lower speed and riskier behavior. This is because drivers are
reducing vehicle s speed to change lanes after the toll plaza. Furthermore, vehicles
from Path 2 which is driving from mainline to cash toll payment and back to
mainline have lower speed at and after the toll plaza, and riskier indicators at all
zones due to speed variation and sudden lane changing before and after the toll
plaza. Second, for signage, drivers who navigate in scenarios with Case 2 signage,
which is adding the DMS sign at the on ramp, removing the third overhead sign, and
relocate the second overhead sign as shown in Figure 3 (b), exhibited lower speed
variation after the on ramp than drivers who perform scenarios of the base condition
with the second and
Skeletal Muscle Contraction
Neuromuscular junctions play a key role in skeletal muscle contractions, and they
consist of axon terminals, synaptic clefts, and junctional folds. The contraction begins
with the arrival of a nerve impulse at an axon terminal which causes acetylcholine
(ACh) to be released into the synaptic cleft. ACh then diffuses across the synaptic
cleft and binds with receptors on the sarcolemma of skeletal muscles. This binding
creates electrical events that allow an action potential through musclefiber which
causes a muscle contraction. However, normal communication between a muscle and
nerve can be interrupted due to the neurological disorder, myasthenia gravis. In Latin
and Greek, Myasthenia gravis means grave muscle weakness, (fact sheet). As stated...

winning race horses. Paul is determined to achieve social status and money by

However, the rocking horse ends up taking Paul s life. The whispering in the house
symbolizes the desire to stay in the upper class. The family needs to have the best
things in order to keep their stature. There was never enough money, which means
that the family is always searching for more money. The whispering is partly
caused by Paul s mother because she says to Paul we re the poor members of the

only ones who can hear this whispering. Thus, symbolism is used here as a means of
revealing the theme.
In summary, the desire for money and social status ends up in taking the protagonist s
life. The author, D.H. Lawrence reveals the theme exceedingly well through the use
of relations between the engraved characters and the symbolic inferences. Paul in the
end receives the attention and love which he longs for, but unfortunately his mother
realizes this too late. The author in the end succeeds in revealing the theme which

way through they would get restless and start walking around the spacious room.
Our first small group consisted of basic get to know you questions. When asked what
store we would spend $1,000 at, I said a music store, Sydney said Hot Topic, and all
the boys said varying sporting goods stores. It was a little awkward, but by the end of
the weekend we all talked a bit more freely amongst each other.
When small group ended, we went to the tabernacle for group worship. After
singing a couple of songs, the youth pastor came up and introduced us to who
would be speaking for the weekend. The man who taught us had also gone to our
church growing up. He told us that he was once exactly where we were. He
launched into the message, where he talked about Peter laying down his fishing nets
to go follow Jesus. He then had us each take a notecard and write down what our nets
, or things holding us back from having a close relationship with God, and then put
them up on
America Is The Great Melting Pot
America is the great Melting Pot . From an early age every American is taught that
America contains a mixture of the world s cultures in a perfectly blended mixture. We
honor and respect all cultures and invite them to bring their customs here to the
United States. But do we really? Take for instance, the Hmong refugees who
involuntarily moved to America. Cultural Assimilation seemed to be forced down the
refugees throats. Keeping their native customs was looked on with horror and disgust.
Cultural Assimilation is the process in which a person s and or groups culture comes
to resemble that of another group. When most immigrants come to the Untied States
they are heavily advised to take up English as their first language. You are advised to
learn all about our government, how to drive, and the value of individualism. The
idea of the Great Melting Pot is completely ironic to me. It gives the impression that
we are all one big mixture of cultures. In reality the melting pot spreads thin all other
cultures, but the American culture. Other cultures seem to be lost and assimilated
into American ideologies and cultures. Cultural Assimilation for refugees and others,
such as the Hmong can be incredibly difficult and life threatening. Take the Lee
Family, for example. The Lee family arrived in the United Stateson December 18th
in 1980. They left their country seeking political asylum and ended up in the U.S.
They experiences first hand how different life
The National Football League
The National Football League is known for its prominence, dominance and
thrilling seasons that play a role in the lives of so many. From the summer months
of the pre season to the Super Bowl in February, American football dominates the
sports scene. However, college football and the draft are both equally important
factors for the NFL to live up to the expectations of the fans. Both the draft and
division one football are streamed on television so that each fan can tune in and see
who will be the next member of their beloved NFL team. For many across the
United States, the Dallas Cowboys, also known as America s team is that cherished
team. However, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled to have a strong offensive and
defensive presence in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He s taken the same approach to the second round of the NFL draft several times
since 2010 without hitting many gushers. Jones likes to pick players who are not a
sure thing when it comes to the game of Football and so far this has not paid off in
his or team s favor. If contacted by the team, to assist in the draft selection process,
my first suggestion would be no more wild cards. Through my quantitative analysis
proposal, I hope to ensure that the Dallas Cowboys receive defensive players that
can play and contribute to the beginning success of revitalized team. My proposal
would look at filling the two gaps left by the exits of the cornerbacks and strong
safety. The Dallas Cowboys need players who can perform at the level of the top
players in those specific positions to ensure that success for the team comes early.
My proposal would look at three different sets of statistics to ensure a positive draft
pick. First, I would analyze the other thirty one teams within the National Football
League, and deduct based off of the statistics of the cornerback and strong safety
position who is regarded as the top players in that specific position. The Strong
Safety is usually, well, strong, and fast. They are usually responsible for covering
TEs, RBs, and WRs and playing down the field, but are often expected to come up
in run support. While the cornerbacks try to break up passes, tackle players who
catch passes, and try to intercept passes
Factors Of Favor Of The Argument Essay
Module 2 Assignment 2: Factors in Favor of and Against
Name: Kellie Runyon
Topic: Universal health care: Governmental provision of free health care for all
citizens.
Part 1: Matrix
Strength of the Argument
(1 strongest,
6 weakest)
Reasons for
Reasons Against
1
Universal health care would be affordable for everyone
Millions of people would save money with universal healthcare due to everyone
paying an equal amount; whether it be through tax increase or some other form.
However, it will amount to less money than those who are paying for healthcare now
due to the fact that every citizen pays for it and not only the people who can afford
the raising prices.
Tax Increases to cover the healthcare change.
2
Public health would improve with universal health care
All citizens will have unlimited access to the medical professionals. Many people that
cannot afford insurance will now have unlimited opportunities to get annual exams
and help to prevent major health issues from going unseen.
With an increase in the amount of people needing/wanting medical treatment, there
will be a shortage of medical staff. This will cause longer wait times, limited
resources, as well as not having enough doctors and specialists to meet the demand.
3
The cost of healthcare would be lower for the US when expenses are prioritized.
Other countries that provided universal health care spend half as much as the US
does with the amount of people who currently have health insurance. The US is
Marketing And Managing An App
Abstract
The world of phone applications is expanding at a rapid rate every day. Apps are
now becoming more and more important in everyday life and they are also
becoming more and more valuable. With new horizons being reached and new
innovations being released it s important for computing students to try and tap into
the world of apps and mobile technology. Each D.I.M.E (Digital, Innovation,
Management and Enterprise) group was tasked with coming up with an app idea as a
group project.
This project involved creating, marketing and managing an app idea which could be
developed for the consumer. The goal was to show our lecturers that the idea
concocted by each group could be made into a popular and useful app for a target
market. This was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Introduction
In this group report group V will talk about the product, Siamsa, and the work that
went into conceptualising it, designing the poster and developing and website
including social media to support and market the app in a way that will give it the
best possible chance of taking off. This group report will show what the thinking
was behind coming up with Siamsa as a potentially successful application. What
was the reasoning behind deciding to make our target market eighteen year olds to
thirty year olds, especially people who go to the many colleges around Ireland. It
will also reveal why group V decided to make the app Siamsa free for all. As more
research was carried out on the idea it became clear that there is actually a market
for Siamsa and with some smart marketing and exposure the future possibilities are
endless for the app. For this purpose, the group report will focus on the steps that
will be taken to make sure that Siamsa will be innovative and bring something new to
the market, while at the same time showing that Siamsa is entirely feasible and could
be built to a high standard.
Background
After our group was formed our lecturer gave us different talks on topics like e
commerce and start ups where it gave us an idea on how to start our group project on
the right foot and give us the strongest chance
The Influence Of Tattoos In The American Culture
Tattoos have become more prominent in recent years in American Culture, as well
as all over the world. Approximately one out of every five Americans have a tattoo.
The American Heritage Science Dictionary defines a tattoo as a permanent mark
or design made on the skin by a process of pricking and ingraining an indelible
pigment . Many individuals choose to utilize their own bodies as an artistic
medium to create visible bodily expressions of their inner selves. For many years,
humans have used tattoos to adorn their bodies for multiple reasons personal
independence, religious beliefs, in remembrance of a loved one, showing allegiance
to a country, or gaining involvement in a social organization, club or gang.
Historically, tattoos date back over thousands of years and were created to beautify,
shock, humiliate, or narrate. Tattoos can vary by design, employing words, images,
or a combination of both. There are thousands of fonts to choose from, varying from
basic to highly ornate. Pictorial tattoos are chosen by an individualto represent a
personal event, relationship or connection. Tattoos vary in size, shape, and color, and
can be very influential and meaningful. Aspects of the tattoo depend on the
preference of the individual. Two people could have the exact same tattoo, however,
the tattoo could mean something different to each individual. Often times,
individuals even get matching tattoos as a way to show affection or love for one
another. Tattoos have become more
Pool Physical Therapy
Benefits of Pool Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialty that is
performed by physical therapists with a goal to improve a person s quality of life,
mobility and function. In short, it is a way of relieving pain and improving person
s life. A lot of the time it is used by elderly people, people with disabilities, or
wounded/now disabled military personnel to, at least partially, restore their mobility
and return their life to normal as much as possible. The main goal of physical therapy
is to relieve pain and pressure on certain body parts and make life as easy as possible.
Physical Therapy can help with:
Arthritis Pain
Accelerated Sports Rehab
Low Back Pain
Obesity
Fibromyalgia
Difficulty with Walking/Balance
Water or Aquatic physical therapy is the same way as regular physical therapy but
it is performed in water. Usually, people that I mentioned above that cannot do land
physical therapy because of the pain are put in water and do their physical therapy
there. The reason for that is because water moves the body weight all around and
does not focus on a specific body part. From the experiences I read on the internet,
people say that this type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Police Brutality In Chile Essay
Chile is a beautiful country in the continent of South America. They have a beautiful
coastline and a good population there. But underneath all of the beauty is the fact of
police brutality. The police are using excessive force, corruption, and racism against
certain groups of people. When is it time to put an end to police brutality all
together? It is time for the people of Chileto make a stand. Police brutality is leaving
thousands hurt and even causes some deaths. It is really getting out of hand. Chile is
located in the southernmost part of South America. It is found near Bolivia, Peru, and
Argentina. Chile has a beautiful coastline to its west. Chile is the longest country in

But how can you? Police are continuously causing problems throughout the
communities. Police brutality has not just occurred during these protests, it
happens all around the world. It makes it hard for the people of the community to
trust the police officers if all they are doing is causing problems. Many people are not
happy and just want to move forward from the incident but the police just keep
doing it over and over so these problems will not just go away. All people of Chile
need to work together as a whole to fix the
Hate Speech Stereotypes
According to the new FBI numbers, 47 percent of hate crimes in 2014 were
motivated by race, over 20 percent by anti LGBT animus, and approaching 19
percent by religion (Potok 2). The use of hate speech leads to imminent hate crimes,
especially when such speech is ramped within politics. Hate speech should be seen
as a precursor to more serious crimesand violence because hate speechcauses society
to be more accepting toward certain violent behaviors and hate speech allows for
negative stereotypes to be used against marginalized groups of people.
First, the constant use of hate speech allows society to become immune and more
accepting toward violence. Last August, a 58 year old homeless Latino man was
ambushed by two white men as he slept, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During Trump s speech announcing his presidential bid back in June, Trump said,
When Mexico sends its people, they re not sending their best... They re brining
drugs. They re brining crime. They re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,
according to CNN (Zaru 1). More importantly, Trump caters to the idea that
Mexicans are criminals who are only known for stealing American jobs and taking
money from Americans. According to the 2010 Census data, less educated native
born men age 18 39 had an incarceration rate of 10.7 percent, which is more than
triple the 2.8 percent rate among foreign born Mexican men, and five times greater
than the 1.7 percent rate among foreign born Salvadoran and Guatemalan men
(Ewing et al. 1). Therefore, the assumptions and fallacies Donald Trump, along with
many other GOP presidential candidates spew about Mexicans and illegal
immigrants, is far from the truth, seeing as native born men are more likely to
commit crimes than immigrants. According to the Washington Post, former GOP
presidential candidate Ben Carson suggested that Muslims might be dangerous, and
even compared Muslim Syrian refugees to dogs, saying, If there s a rabid dog
running around in your neighborhood, you re probably not going to assume
something good about that dog. It doesn t mean you hate all dogs, but you re putting
your intellect into motion (Ehrenfreund 4). Subsequently, after terrorist attacks in
places such as San Bernardino, California
The Narrative Of The Life Of Olaudah Equiano s ``...
Slavery for many was a time of despair and anguish, it felt like hell not only by the
heat of the sun, but, by the treatment many received from their owners as well.
Despite written almost 100 years apart, two of the most famous and well known
slave narratives that give the modern day reader just an idea of what slaverywas like
are, Aphra Behns Oroonoko, or, The Royal Slave and Olaudah Equianos The
Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano . The journey of these two
young men, although in many ways are similar, from a larger perspective could
not be more different. For Oroonoko a somewhat established young man who
comes from royalty, optimizes what it means to be a noble savage. As for a young
Equiano who seems to spend most of his childhood in slavery, must find a way to
overcome the hand he has been dealt and work hard to earn his freedom.
Throughout both of these stories there are similarities and there are differences as
well. Some of the most interesting aspects that might stand out to the reader are, the
aspect of slavery and or the lack of it, suicide and how both characters go about it in
their own way and points of view and how the reader is influenced by it. One of the
aspects that seems most intriguing in both of these stories is that of slavery and or
the lack of it. It is obvious that throughout both stories, Oroonoko and Equiano are
very much surrounded by slavery, however throughout both stories the two main
characters never seem to
Trench Warfare In The Trenches Essay
Soldiers within the trenches would illustrate their despair by singing, We re here
because we re here, we re here because we re here, we re here because we re here, we
re here because we re here. World War 1 was ignited and many perceived it would
be quick and easy. However, as trenches were dug, stalemate developed. The growing
development of trench warfarewas evident in the Western Front. As it revolutionized,
the war slowed down, causing little victory, but high casualties within the Allies
fighting in the Western Front Britain, France, and the United States as well as the
Central Powers, consisting of Germany and Austria Hungary. During World War 1, as
trench warfare progressed, a system began to develop, new weaponry was introduced,

Thus, trenches began to connect, so a soldier could be supplied with food, mail from
their family, ammunition, and fresh troops. Later, trenches contained first aid
stations, and some even small kitchens. Most importantly, there were machine gun
stations that would aid a soldier under attack, and dugouts that would sustain a large
amount of troops during an assault. Most soldiers could spend up to two weeks in a
trench at a time if they lived through it. First, they would spend time in the front line
trench, fighting the enemy. Then, they would progress to the support trenches, and
later rest. Even if the soldiers were not fighting, they were put to repair the trenches,
move supplies, clean weapons, and undergo inspection or guard duty. Trenches had
to be repaired constantly due to bombardment from the enemy or rain. In fact, daily
life within the trenches was foreseeable, Thirty minutes before sunrise, troops had to
stand to, ready to repel any attack. If no attack was forthcoming that day, the day s
routine consisted of breakfast followed by inspection, sentry duty, restoration of the
trenches, care of personal items, or whiling away the time as best they could. At last,
trench warfare developed to a point where soldiers had to constantly remain within
them and develop a
Passive Solar Heatinging Is Based On The Principles Of...
Passive solar heating The principle of passive solar heating is based on the
collection of short wave solar radiation in (building) mass that in return disperses
long wave heat radiation that can be used for space heating.
Earth coupling The general idea behind earth coupling is to take advantage of the
earth s large thermal storage capacity. Ground temperatures are quite stable at
relatively small depths and are quite similar to the local annual average ambient
temperature. Near the surface ground temperatures are more influenced by dynamic
ambient conditions.
Night sky cooling The effective temperature of a sky at night is typically much lower
than ambient conditions.
Therefore buildings cool down at night by radiating heat to the sky. This phenomenon
also occurs during daytime but is then levelled out by solar radiation.
Natural air cooling Natural air flows can be used to remove unwanted heat from a
building by flushing the building with large volumes of (cool) air. Natural air cooling
is based upon the natural ventilation principle of cross ventilation: openings on both
sides of the building allow natural occurring winds to pass through the building
carrying the heat along.
Evaporative cooling Evaporative cooling is based on the fact that energy is needed for
the evaporation of water. If this energy is withdrawn from the building, it will
instantly cool down the building. Just the presence of groundwater or surface water
will bring about a cooling effect on its direct

GENERIC NAME:LABETALOL ORAL (luh BET uh lol) BRAND NAMES:
Normodyne, Trandate DRUG CLASS AND MECHANISM: Labetalol is a drug
that is used for treating high blood pressure. Nerves from the adrenergic nervous
system travel from the spinal cord to arteries where they release norepinephrine.
Norepinephrine attaches to adrenergic receptors on arteries and causes the arteries
to contract, narrowing the arteries, and increasing blood pressure. Labetalol blocks
receptors of the adrenergic nervous system. When labetalol attaches to and blocks
the receptors, arteries expand, resulting in a fall in blood pressure. GENERIC

If combined with adrenergic stimulating drugs used for treating asthma, ex. albuterol
the adrenergic blocking effects of labetalol may counteract the effects of the
stimulating drugs and reduce their effectiveness for treating asthmatic attacks. More
of the adrenergic drug may be needed. SIDE EFFECTS: The most common side
effects of labetalol are fatigue, dizziness, nausea, headache, diarrhea, edema (fluid
accumulation), and shortness of breath. Postural hypotension (a rapid decrease in
blood pressure when going from the lying or seated position to the standing position
that may cause light headedness or fainting) occurs rarely. Patients should be
observed for this possible side effect within two to four hours of the first labetalol
dose and after any changes in dose. Sexual dysfunction, abnormal heart rhythm, slow
heart rate, liver failure, and allergic reactions may occur. GENERIC NAME:

John Okada s No-No Boy
The United States of America a nation known for allowing freedom, equality, justice,
and most of all a chance for immigrants to attain the American dream. However, that
America was hardly recognizable during the 1940 s when President Franklin
Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, ordering 120,000 Japanese Americans to be
relocated to internment camps. As for the aftermath, little is known beyond the
historical documents and stories from those affected. Through John Okadas novel, No
No Boy, a closer picture of the aftermath of the internment is shown through the
events of the protagonist, Ichiro. It provides a more human perspective that is filled

More importantly, it makes Ichiro loathe himself more because he feels as though
being a No no boy makes him incapable of being American since he is not deserving
or capable of walking around proudly like the veterans. Unlike the veterans, Ichiro
finds himself unable to prove that he is American which leaves him with his
Japanese identity. However, it is that same Japanese identity that got him interned,
imprisoned, harassed, and in the position that he is in now. Above all, what is
clearly visible is that there is not only a separation within the nation but a
separation within the entire Japanese community. The differences in Ichiro s
family contributed to his self hatred and seemingly lost identity. To him, he was
the emptiness between the one and the other and could see flashes of the truth that
was true for his parents and the truth that was true for his brother (Okada, 19). He
did not want to be Japanese because he did not know the language and was
consumed with anger and hatred towards his parents because even they weren t
any less Japanese even after living in America for thirty five years, thus utterly
rejecting America (Okada, 19). In addition, his mother s defiance of the reality of
Japan s loss in the war and their inability to go back to Japan as she hoped for, as
well as his father s lack of control and courage only increases his desire to not be
Japanese. However, Ichiro s

depicted in Figure 3. The results of these efforts have been (and will continue to be)
published in peer reviewed journals of science and presented in major engineering
conferences. Moreover, methods developed for this research can be made compatible
for advancing research in phase change materials, coatings, tissue engineering, and
many more frontiers of science.
During my master s degree at Villanova University, I conducted an experimental
research under the supervision of Dr. Jens O.M. Karlsson at Biothermal Sciences
Laboratory . In this NSF funded research position, I designed, built, and optimized
different types of glass capillary microfluidic devices, and utilized them for producing
micro emulsions. Subsequently, these micro emulsions were used for investigating
ice nucleation and crystallization in supercooled ultrapure water, for which I used
high speed imaging technique in conjunction with a powerful optical microscope and
a cryo stage. Figure 4 is a micrograph taken from one such video. Needless to
mention, the knowledge gained from these experiments can open new doors to
understanding mechanisms of damage in cells and tissue due to preservation at cryo
temperatures.

Mla 5 Paragraph Essay

  • 1. Mla 5 Paragraph Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "MLA 5 Paragraph Essay" can be quite challenging for several reasons. First and foremost, the requirement to adhere to the MLA (Modern Language Association) format adds an extra layer of complexity. This format comes with specific guidelines for citing sources, formatting the paper, and creating a bibliography, demanding meticulous attention to detail. Crafting a 5-paragraph essay within the confines of MLA guidelines also requires a comprehensive understanding of the topic at hand. One must be adept at formulating a clear thesis statement, developing coherent arguments across three main paragraphs, and concluding the essay effectively, all while maintaining proper citation standards. Moreover, managing the essay's structure within the limitations of five paragraphs can be restrictive. Balancing the introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion while ensuring each section contributes meaningfully to the overall argument requires careful planning and organization. Additionally, finding and incorporating relevant sources to support arguments adds another layer of difficulty. Properly integrating quotes, paraphrasing, and avoiding plagiarism are crucial aspects that demand a keen eye for detail. Furthermore, achieving a balance between depth of analysis and brevity within the confines of a 5-paragraph structure can be a daunting task. Students often find it challenging to delve into the intricacies of a topic while adhering to the prescribed essay length. In conclusion, composing an essay on the subject of "MLA 5 Paragraph Essay" is no simple feat. It demands proficiency in MLA formatting, a deep understanding of the chosen topic, strategic structuring, skillful integration of sources, and a delicate balance between depth and brevity. • 3. A Critique Of The Social Contract A Critique of the Social Contract According To John Locke Introduction John Locke embedded his political ideas in the form of two treatises popularly known as Two Treatises on Civil Government that he authored in 1690. In the first treatise, Locke disagrees with the political and social philosophy of Robert Filmer in his work known as Patriacha, authored in 1654. The second treatise contains Locke s viewpoint on political philosophy where he expounds the origin, authority and the significance of a civil government. In addition, the treatise contains his view on the state of nature, the social contract, political groupings, types of government and a citizen s right to own private property. The Social Contract Theory Unlike his predecessor, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In other words, human beings can be depended upon based on the fact that they are rational. Unlike Hobbes, Locke believed that human beings are unselfish and social. It is only in exceptional cases that some human beings are selfish, overly competitive and aggressive otherwise; most human beings are able to rule themselves through the law of nature or through rational thinking. Human beings are born free and are equal. The presence of reason in human beings ensures that they remain rational in their dealings. This factor enables human beings to discover the right behavior as seen in their control of emotions, anger, and expression of love among others. Instinctively, man desires to live in peace and harmony with fellow men. In regard to the state of nature, Locke contrasts Hobbes by asserting that there was law, order, peace and private property. Political legitimacy and power is derived from the state of nature since according to Locke, man has always lived in perfect equality and freedom where human beings order their actions and use their property within the confines of the law of nature. However, the state of nature does not imply misuse of liberty but using such liberty for the good of self

It was the state championship against Mater Dei, a team that Smith had already badly beaten in an early December clash against the Monarchs. The score was 55 53, and Tray was sent to the line to finish the gameoff. He calmly stepped to line, hoping to sink these 2 free throws, like he d done so many times before. He took the first shot, and it was off the back iron of the hoop and right back to him at the line. The crowd groaned now knowing that Mater Dei could win it, or tie it and send it to overtime. He got the ball for the second free throw and threw up another brick. The Monarchs grabbed the rebound, dribbled down the court, and with 3 seconds to go in the... One game he was being his normal self, dropping 30 points on some high school team from Los Angeles. Tray heard a murmur through the crowd that he heard during many games, but this one was bigger than normal. Once the game ended tray went to the bench to get some water, but he wasn t greeted by just his normal coach, he was greeted by the best coach in the country in Mike Krzyzewski. • 6. Essay about The Cat and his Master The Cat and his Master Puss in Boots is a strange little folk tale in which a talking cat performs deeds of heroism in order to further his master s lot in life. It is saddled with a moral which implies that through hard work and ingenuity one can rise above his station. This hardly seems to be the case, however, when we look at the contributions made by the miller s youngest son and master of the puss himself. Furthermore, the symbolism peppered throughout the tale would seem to indicate that there is more going on. The tale begins with the death of a miller, who leaves his sole possessions to his three sons. The youngest of the sons winds up with nothing but what he believes to be a lowly cat, which he is convinced will be good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cat in turn becomes the son and the main protagonist of our story and the only character to go through a transformation. When viewed at this angle, the moral retains its truth. The deeper story here seems to be a part coming of age, part underdog overcoming the odds tale. The story begins with a miller. In a pre industrial society, the miller would have had an important position, akin to a woodcutter. The miller was responsible for grinding corn into meal, essential in making bread and other staples. His death represents a lack of a provider in his sons lives. The two elder sons are granted an inheritance that will allow them to make a living, but not the youngest, who gets the cat. The cat, a possession of the miller, also finds himself without a provider, and hatches a plan to prevent the son from eating him. In the course of the story, the son becomes as reliant on the cat as he was on his father. It is at this point that the cat replaces the son as a formal story element. In many respects, the cat and the son are two halves of the same character, their fates interlocked with one another. This is a deliberate device which reflects the medieval superstition that cats were somehow linked to their masters, as Robert Darnton suggests in his article The Great Cat Massacre. The cat asks for some boots to protect his feet from the thorny undergrowth. Putting boots on the cat reinforces the superstition and creates an

The interior designing of three of The White Star Line ships were remotely similar as they may have one upped each other as the previous ship sunk. My husband has decided to go for hermitage ignoring my new youth. So why are you exciting me? Wherever I looked I saw the great power of love. I saw it the kiss of the bumblebee on the face of the flower. I felt the embrace of vines to the trees and the love filled chattering of the birds. The union of the fragrance with the breeze was exciting me. They were proclaiming the unimaginable power of love which I did not enjoy. The body is here because of the sadhana of the soul. Can one ignore the body completely on the way of illumination of soul? If the body is nothing, then why a human being takes different kinds of food to preserve the body? That day when I heard the discourse about the body from Gautama, I put forth clearly my view about the body in front of him. Many times I have arguments with Gautama about the body. Every time I have heard essence and philosophy from Gautama. Today also Gautama repeated it. In a grave voice he said, Ahalya! You are so much aware of the body because you are an ordinary woman. That is because you are able to see it in front of you. The body is another material. Instead of trying to improve your soul you are interested in the comfort of the bodily pleasure. Hello Ahalya! An economic system is a system of producing goods and the exchange of goods and services. An economic systems also includes a process which is used to allocate its assets. Finally he found investors behaviors in terms of the overvalued assets played an important role in this process. Joesph E. Stiglitz (1990) agreed with the theory above, and suggested that if investors thought assets could be sold over their expectation, they would do more investment, and then assets actual price would increase, which also means the bubbles would appearance. He thought it is important to prove the existence of bubbles, since they can implicate the future decrease of assets price. Therefore governments could take actions to control investors behaviors and avoid crises. But by taking the 1960s crisis as an example, he found bubbles existence was difficult to test. It is because bubbles would not exist only if the assets discount rate increased equal to the assets price, which means the assets value would be equal to the discount value. But this equilibrium is not expectable. Then Stiglitz proposed that the markets might have multiple equilibriums, so he collected many economists thoughts about this opinion. But he found models of different economists were developed in terms of different methods, so they cannot reach an agreement. But he suggested that it is still important for economists to analyze this problem in further studies. Basing on the research of other economists, Robert S. It was first noticed by James Flynn (The Flynn Effect). As years went by and IQ tests were restandardized, it was noticed that when previous tests were taken the outcomes were better on the previous tests than the tests that were in current circulation. The Flynn Effect has a number of factors that can attribute to the effect taking place. One factor in particular that has been discussed by many different people is the factor of overall better nutrition. Overall better nutrition has occurred in many places over the last 100 years or so. This improvement has been linked to head growth, earlier maturation of children, increased height, and faster growth (Williams). Increased head growth most likely means that human brains are growing which can subsequently be linked to the increased intelligence that is proven by IQ scores. The earlier maturation and faster growth of children can also be linked to how a population s intelligence improves over many years. The CPS required participants to rate adjectives on how much they relate to the adjectives on a scale from one to nine with one representing no connection to the adjective. The ratings were then broken down into losses and gains. Gains were calculated by looking at the increase of positive adjectives across age groups and losses were calculated the same way only with negative adjectives. Composite scores were calculated by subtracting the ratings of negative adjective from the ratings of positive adjectives (Hui et al., 2014). The age group with the highest reported creative personality was the group of adults over the age of sixty one. The pattern the study found seemed to suggest that there was a gradual decrease in creative endeavors from age eighteen to age sixty that began to increase in older age. A study entitled Layperson Perceptions of Malevolent Creativity: The Good, the Bad, and the Ambiguous sought to understand how people viewed creativity in malevolent acts. It is in this context that the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest is identified as a possible medium to investigate the nature and effect of a psychiatric system as accurately portrayed through this particular film, The film depicts the psychiatric system as rigid, leaving patients with little room to express their individuality. The effect of the staff members behaviour on the patient s psychotherapeutic growth, highlights the staff s ignorance and lack of knowingness of their individual responsibility, contributing to the psychopathology of not only the patients , but also the system as a whole. The interactional style of the psychiatric staff, as portrayed in the film, serves to contribute to the deterioration of the mental and psychological well being of the patients , thus inhibiting their psychological growth. The majority of One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest takes place in the Day Room of the hospital. Behind the magnificent creations was a group that employed their knowledge of advanced mathematics and building techniques to create such an impressive subject of wonder. The mystery involving the work needed physically to produce this structural behemoth remains a popular topic of discussion between historians and engineers who seek to unlock the secrets of the pyramids architecture. Moreover, the pyramids boasted several other astronomical and geographical equivalents in its architecture: The Great Pyramid s sides were aligned with each cardinal direction, with the North side facing true north with only 3/60th degree of error. There was also a possibility that the pyramids could be used as a sort of astronomical calendar as well. The spring equinox was marked when no shadow was cast by the Great Pyramid due to its latitude and angle (Crystalinks). In order to build these massive structures, there were several possible techniques employed to lift, transport, and place the large limestone blocks that the pyramids were comprised. The most probable method of transit being that the Egyptians pulled the materials on sleds of cedar wood along oil or water dampened sand or rails (Baldridge 1). Other theories discussed included the conjecture of John D. Bush (1977), who assumed that the blocks were rolled using cut out circular segments. For the purpose of lifting the blocks, a complex system of levers utilizing counterweights and ramps were most likely used (Baldridge 1996); however, arguments can be made for the use of one large ramp wrapping around the Great Pyramid (Hadingham p 51) as performed by Mark Lehner, an archaeologist. While several theories of construction of the pyramids have been made, a notable theory was found in an engineer s belief that circular wedges surrounding the blocks were used
  • 39. The Events Factors Caused By Driving And Low Standard... As the preceding Tables 5 8 depicted, five scenario factors were investigated. First, drivers at Path 1 have higher speed and low standard deviation of speed, standard deviation of lane deviation, and acceleration noise than other paths. Vehicles from the on ramp before toll plaza (i.e., Paths 4 and 5), as shown in Figure 3 (a), have lower speed and higher dangerous behavior (i.e., standard deviationof speed, acceleration noise, and standard deviation of lane deviation) compared to Path 1 at all zones. It can be explained that vehicles from the on ramp perform sudden lane changing maneuvers before and after the toll plaza. Additionally, vehicles from Path 3 which is driving through the express lanes to the off ramp after the toll plaza have also lower speed and riskier behavior. This is because drivers are reducing vehicle s speed to change lanes after the toll plaza. Furthermore, vehicles from Path 2 which is driving from mainline to cash toll payment and back to mainline have lower speed at and after the toll plaza, and riskier indicators at all zones due to speed variation and sudden lane changing before and after the toll plaza. Second, for signage, drivers who navigate in scenarios with Case 2 signage, which is adding the DMS sign at the on ramp, removing the third overhead sign, and relocate the second overhead sign as shown in Figure 3 (b), exhibited lower speed variation after the on ramp than drivers who perform scenarios of the base condition with the second and
  • 40. Skeletal Muscle Contraction Neuromuscular junctions play a key role in skeletal muscle contractions, and they consist of axon terminals, synaptic clefts, and junctional folds. The contraction begins with the arrival of a nerve impulse at an axon terminal which causes acetylcholine (ACh) to be released into the synaptic cleft. ACh then diffuses across the synaptic cleft and binds with receptors on the sarcolemma of skeletal muscles. This binding creates electrical events that allow an action potential through musclefiber which causes a muscle contraction. However, normal communication between a muscle and nerve can be interrupted due to the neurological disorder, myasthenia gravis. The whispering in the house symbolizes the desire to stay in the upper class. The family needs to have the best things in order to keep their stature. There was never enough money, which means that the family is always searching for more money. The whispering is partly caused by Paul s mother because she says to Paul we re the poor members of the family. From an early age every American is taught that America contains a mixture of the world s cultures in a perfectly blended mixture. We honor and respect all cultures and invite them to bring their customs here to the United States. But do we really? Take for instance, the Hmong refugees who involuntarily moved to America. Cultural Assimilation seemed to be forced down the refugees throats. Keeping their native customs was looked on with horror and disgust. Cultural Assimilation is the process in which a person s and or groups culture comes to resemble that of another group. When most immigrants come to the Untied States they are heavily advised to take up English as their first language. You are advised to learn all about our government, how to drive, and the value of individualism. The idea of the Great Melting Pot is completely ironic to me. It gives the impression that we are all one big mixture of cultures. In reality the melting pot spreads thin all other cultures, but the American culture. Other cultures seem to be lost and assimilated into American ideologies and cultures. Cultural Assimilation for refugees and others, such as the Hmong can be incredibly difficult and life threatening. Take the Lee Family, for example. Many people that cannot afford insurance will now have unlimited opportunities to get annual exams and help to prevent major health issues from going unseen. Passive solar heating The principle of passive solar heating is based on the collection of short wave solar radiation in (building) mass that in return disperses long wave heat radiation that can be used for space heating. Earth coupling The general idea behind earth coupling is to take advantage of the earth s large thermal storage capacity. Ground temperatures are quite stable at relatively small depths and are quite similar to the local annual average ambient temperature. Near the surface ground temperatures are more influenced by dynamic ambient conditions. Night sky cooling The effective temperature of a sky at night is typically much lower than ambient conditions. Therefore buildings cool down at night by radiating heat to the sky. This phenomenon also occurs during daytime but is then levelled out by solar radiation. Natural air cooling Natural air flows can be used to remove unwanted heat from a building by flushing the building with large volumes of (cool) air. Natural air cooling is based upon the natural ventilation principle of cross ventilation: openings on both sides of the building allow natural occurring winds to pass through the building carrying the heat along. Evaporative cooling Evaporative cooling is based on the fact that energy is needed for the evaporation of water. If this energy is withdrawn from the building, it will instantly cool down the building. Just the presence of groundwater or surface water will bring about a cooling effect on its direct

The differences in Ichiro s family contributed to his self hatred and seemingly lost identity. To him, he was the emptiness between the one and the other and could see flashes of the truth that was true for his parents and the truth that was true for his brother (Okada, 19). He did not want to be Japanese because he did not know the language and was consumed with anger and hatred towards his parents because even they weren t any less Japanese even after living in America for thirty five years, thus utterly rejecting America (Okada, 19). In addition, his mother s defiance of the reality of Japan s loss in the war and their inability to go back to Japan as she hoped for, as well as his father s lack of control and courage only increases his desire to not be Japanese. However, Ichiro s
  • 56. The Statement Of Engineering Methods For Design And... The ultimate goal of my research is to implement engineering methods for creating material designs that would improve the quality of the life for humanity. More specifically, I implement the knowledge and skills that I have developed over the past years to make progress in design and engineering of smart materials, biomaterials, and metamaterials. By the witness of my former projects, publications, degrees, and certificates, I possess solid knowledge and skills in designing and conducting experimental, numerical and analytical researchin interdisciplinary branches of material sciences. To date, I have obtain major background in the fields of composite design, bioengineering, and multi scale simulation, and accomplished multiple project in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A sample realization of the codes for simulating 3D particle reinforced composite is depicted in Figure 3. The results of these efforts have been (and will continue to be) published in peer reviewed journals of science and presented in major engineering conferences. Moreover, methods developed for this research can be made compatible for advancing research in phase change materials, coatings, tissue engineering, and many more frontiers of science. During my master s degree at Villanova University, I conducted an experimental research under the supervision of Dr. Jens O.M. Karlsson at Biothermal Sciences Laboratory . In this NSF funded research position, I designed, built, and optimized different types of glass capillary microfluidic devices, and utilized them for producing micro emulsions. Subsequently, these micro emulsions were used for investigating ice nucleation and crystallization in supercooled ultrapure water, for which I used high speed imaging technique in conjunction with a powerful optical microscope and a cryo stage. Figure 4 is a micrograph taken from one such video. Needless to mention, the knowledge gained from these experiments can open new doors to understanding mechanisms of damage in cells and tissue due to preservation at cryo temperatures. The demand for smarter design of materials for health related and energy related applications keeps
