4. Introduction
The Jaipur Metro is a rapid transit system in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
Construction on the mostly elevated part of the first line, called Phase 1A, comprising
9.63 kilometres (5.98 mi) of route from Mansarovar to Chandpole Bazaar, started in
November 2010, and was completed in 2014. The Jaipur Metro began commercial service
between Chandpole and Mansarovar on 3 June 2015. The Jaipur Metro Rail system is
India's sixth metro rail system after those in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Gurugram and
Mumbai. The Jaipur Metro is the first metro in India to run on triple-storey elevated road
and metro track. Phase 1-B, from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar, began operation on 23
September 2020.

6. SCADA
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system provide the highest level of monitoring ,
controlling and command . Basically, consists of data accessing feature and controlling process
remotely. Conversion of data is possible i.e., analogue to digital and vice versa. It works like a
supervisor who supervises the entire plant area, if needed it also controls the process as well as it
converts the data segments for storing process values i.e. level, pressure, switch positions, density,
temperature, messages, etc.

8. PSI (Power System Installation)
▪ 25 KV traction system is considered to be the best trade-off And hence, proposed for adoption
on Jaipur Metro System.
▪ Keeping in view of the reliability, there are two RSS (Receiving Sub-station) namely Sindhi
camp and Mansarovar.
▪ There are four transformers. Two of them are for traction Purpose and are called as Traction
transformer while rest two Are Auxiliary transformer.
▪ Auxiliary transformer steps down 132 kV to 33 kV while Traction transformer steps down 132
kV to 27.5 kV.
▪ The design of electrical system as a whole is based on providing safe, reliable & stable power
and efficient performance of electrical system. Redundancy feature will have to be built at each
level of power distribution.

10. OHE (OVERHEAD EQUIPMENT)
▪ Messenger and contact wire
The overhead equipment above the track comprises the following
(a). A standard cadmium copper wire of about 65 mm² section conductivity of 80%.
(b). A grooved hard-drawn copper contact wire of 150mm cross-section The messenger and the
contact wire together have an equivalent copper section of 202 sq. mm.
▪ Catenary wire
Bare copper cadmium alloy wire of 19 strands, 2.1 diameter each having a total cross-section of
about 655q mm. The overall diameter of catenary wire is 10.5 mm.
▪ Contact wire
Pure copper is a hard-drawn grooved cast and flattened type of a cross-section of 150 sq. mm.
contact wire is suspended from the catenary wire by droppers. The pantograph of locomotives
"collects" the electric current from the contact wire. The normal height of contact wire for
regulated OHE is 5.00 (with 5 cm/sag for 54m spans). Above rail level.
11. ▪ Dropper wire
The contact wire is held suspended from the catenary wire by tin bronze multi strand with each of 0.5
mm diameter, the 23 overall diameter of 5 mm and cross section 12 SQ mm fitted at ends with crimped,
catenary/ contact clips.
12. Lift & Escalator
▪ Jaipur metro is a rapid transit system built and operated by Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation.
▪ Lift have been provide for hassle free transit between different level of stations especially
for differently abled, elderly and ailing passengers.
▪ They are design for proper interface with visually or hearing impaired passengers.
▪ Station consist of three floors
1. Ground level – Entry points staircase, escalator, lift to concourse level.
2. Concourse level – passengers facilities like, Token counter, entry gate to paid area.
3. Platform level – Train track Assembly area, staircase, escalator, lift.
▪ Lift pit size should be minimum 2500*2200 for a 13 passengers lift capacity.
▪ Lift system must be machine room less to save the space.
14. E&M System (Elevated)
GIS SECTION (RSS) – Gas Insulated Sub-station is a space saving Sub-station.
Have high system reliability. Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) of 132 is proposed on
account of reduced land requirement, maintenance and reliability considerations.
Requirements for GIS :-
▪ Innovative solution (devices, switchgears)
▪ Low life cycle costs
▪ High system reliability
▪ Reliable and competent partners (operator , manufacturer)
▪ Smart and power grid adaptation
▪ Environmental-sustainability
▪ High flexibility of its solution (modularity, expandability)
▪ Compact space saving solution
16. AIR CONIDITIONING SYSTEM (AC)
Air conditioner is a device that lowers the air temperature. The cooling is typically done using a
simple refrigeration cycle. A ductable air cooled AC is employed with R22 is used as a refrigerant.
The system has indoor and outdoor system. The indoor unit consists of an evaporator and an
expansion tube and outdoor unit has a compressor and a condenser.
Chiller - Chiller is a machine that removes heat from a liquid via a vapors-compression or
absorption refrigeration cycle. This liquid can then be circulated through a heat exchanger to cool
air or equipment as required. As a necessary by product, refrigeration creates waste heat that must
be exhausted to ambient or, for greater efficiency, recovered for heating purposes. As it is not
possible to have A.C. for all rooms. In the Chandpole station there are two types of Chiller plants:
1.Water cooled chiller plant
2. Air cooled chiller plant

18. FIRE AND PUMPED STORAGE
Fire extinguisher -The various types of fire extinguisher put out fires started with different
types of fuel – these are called ‘classes’ of fire. The fire risk from the different classes of
fire in your business premises will determine which fire extinguisher types you need.
There are 5 main fire extinguisher types – Water, Foam, Dry Powder, CO2 and Wet
Chemical.
Classes of fire
There are six classes of fire: Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, ‘Electrical’, and Class F.
▪ Class A fires – combustible materials: caused by flammable solids, such as wood, paper,
and fabric.
▪ Class B fires – flammable liquids: such as petrol, turpentine or paint.
▪ Class C fires – flammable gases: like hydrogen, butane or methane.
▪ Class D fires – combustible metals: chemicals such as magnesium, aluminium or
potassium.
▪ Electrical fires – electrical equipment: once the electrical item is removed, the fire
changes class.
