Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: I am not seeing my updates! What can I do?
⢠A: You likely have template caching on! If you plan on working in your theme editor to make
updates, give us a heads up so we can turn off template caching.
If you have already made some updates, let us know and we will reboot your site so you can see
your applied updates!
Figure 24 : You will see a similar message when navigating to your Theme Editor if Template caching is on. Note that template caching is on to
improve your site performance and speed!

Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: When I edit a page, why does the SEO Meta look blank?
⢠A: When you edit a page, the SEO Meta section may appear blank initially. This is because the SEO
Meta information is dynamically generated based on the content of your page and additional
scripts embedded in the Tendenci software. However, you can customize the SEO Meta
information by editing the description, keywords, and setting the canonical URL if necessary.
To see and save the SEO
automation, instead of going to
the edit page, you can select
"Edit Meta." This is where the
SEO information is populated.
Click "Save" to apply those
changes. Once you've done this,
when you go back to edit your
page, you should see that the
SEO Meta section is no
Figure 25 : Editing your SEO/ Metadata. Tendenci does the heavy lifting for you, but
customization is always an option!

Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: Why does my image look âbrokenâ from a user perspective?
⢠A: If an image looks broken to your users, it might be due to incorrect permissions settings. To fix
this, check that the image has "Public can View" enabled and its status is set to active. This can be
located in /files or via the Admin Backend in the Files section portion of selections.
⢠When an image is broken, the image description is displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: How do I opt out of receiving email notifications?
⢠A: Edit your user profile, scroll down to the letter (C) section where it says âEmail and Internet
Informationâ, and in the drop down arrow, select your choice. *Note, that this prevents you from
receiving marketing email blasts, but you will still receive necessary emails such as password
resets and renewal reminders.

your user profile. Here you can opt out of email notifications.

Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: What online payment options have integration or are available with Tendenci?
⢠A: Tendenci currently integrates with the following:
â Stripe
â Authorize.net
â PayPal and PayPal Flow
â Square
We recognize organizations sometimes have the need for other payment options, particularly for
chapters and events sponsored by entities other than the organization, so we have the following
options:
â Stripe Connect to support multiple accounts - a main account with sub-accounts
â External payment link options in both the Chapter Memberships module and the Events
module (where any external payment platform can be specified)
37. Tendenci Site Components & Features
Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: How does a Corporate Membership differ from an Individual Membership?
⢠A: An individual membership in Tendenci software is just that - a membership for an individual
that will allow that person to leverage the many member benefits your organization has to offer.
But what about companies? A corporate membership is an organizational membership designed
specifically for companies, and may carry benefits such as being part of a well visited corporate
directory. An individual AT this company, of course, will need to fill out an application on the
companyâs behalf. Depending on what type of corporate memberships your organization offers,
you may then allow employees of that organization to sign up underneath the organizational
membership.
Individuals who sign up under an organization will then be recognized under that organizationâs
member roster - which is another way to organize members and allow benefits to filter down to
individual members.
38. Tendenci Site Components & Features
Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: Is it possible to import members from my previous AMS?
⢠A: Absolutely! Tendenciâs Membership module not only allows administrators to import main
membership fields such as member type, contact details and demographics, but will also allow
you to map member data to the user defined fields youâve built out in your membership
application for the more unique data you may have gathered from your members.
When you navigate to the Membership and/or Corporate Membership module, you will see in
your dropdown menu an âImportâ option, where there will be a template to download and follow.
39. Tendenci Site Components & Features
Frequently Asked Questions
â Q: Is it possible to add a specific font to the website?
⢠A: Yes. We personally like to use Google fonts (the most similar or equivalent Google fonts of any
font can typically be found with a quick Google search), as they are free.
Once youâve decided on your font, you will access the CSS file in your theme editor, and add this
information to the global styles section.
Note: You can also apply certain
fonts to specific areas of your
website, though it may take
someone versed in HTML and
CSS to apply them in the correct
areas. It is best practice not to
have too many fonts and styles
on your website.
