The Power and Light District (PLD) of downtown Kansas City is the city s major entertainment
center. The growth of PLD and the four other entertainment districts (Zona Rosa, Country Club
Plaza, Westport, 18th and Vine Jazz District) resulted in greater choices for the community (AP,
2011); however, it additionally became a choice target for juvenile activity. Crowds of underage
youths flocking to entertainment districts have been a problem for years in Kansas City. In the past,
the prime destination was the Westport area near the Plaza, where the under 18 crowd sometimes
topped 1,000. Law enforcement reported seeing children as young as 7 walking through the area

The current television advertising for New Belgium is an extension of the personality of the
company (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). The original commercial was a manifestation of the life of an
urban professional who wanted to spend more time enjoying the mountain life in Colorado. The
story is of a guy named Tinkerer who rehabs a bike in order to go on a riding adventure across
the Colorado Mountains (Beirne, 2005). This is similar to the story of how New Belgium
Brewery was founded when Jeff Lebesch, the co founder went on a bike trip through Belgium and
was inspired to brew a beer based on yeast found on his journey. The Tinkerer commercial about

Department of Housing and Urban Development (2012) depicted how many people are
homeless in a single night in America. The findings revealed that there were approximately
633,782 people who are homeless in America or 20 out of every 10,000. Approximately 394,379
are single individuals and 239,403 are people in families with 77,157 homeless families in a
single night, and approximately 162, 246 are children. Veterans are more likely to be homeless
than those who are non veterans, approximately 29 out of every 10,000 veterans are homeless.
Unfortunately, 38 percent of those who are homeless are unsheltered, either living on the streets or
in places that are not suitable for human inhabitation. Most states account of for less than 1% of
homeless population, whereas Texas contains approximately 5.4% of America s homeless
population. In San Antonio, there are approximately 2,981 people who are homeless each day,
and 1,243 are unsheltered. Through a sociological perspective, the social problems of

Two of which, they are both written by Robert Browning and from a male s point of view. The
