Free Trade And Lower Cost
As we know trading blocks are breaking down into several different union, and different countries
gather up in order to make trade intensely with each other. But that is just a brief definition,
because the intense trades could as reflect no more than variable in comparative advantage.
According to, What mainly matters is that each of these agreements allows trade between the
participating countries to take place more easily and at lower cost. (Economic theory and policy
for trading blocks, 1994).
Free trade and lower cost, these are one of the most important reasons to form a trading block, for
example, Free Trade Area, Customs union, Economic Union, political union, those are types of
trading block that we know. One of the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

main goal is to create a free trade area for these countries, and eliminate trade barriers and increase
investment opportunities, and protect intellectual property rights. According to CIA factbook, the

Social responsibility and ethical issues with Mexico
Great leaders do not adopt a purpose to increase their profitability. They believe deeply in the
purpose and the profitability follows (Spence, pg. 296). In order to make a business man
success in his career, understanding and solving social responsibility and ethical issues are one
of the most important class he have to pass. When people talk about Mexico, the things that
always come out of our mind is drugs, crimes and violence. But besides those negative factors,
what else people will see, that will be large populations, cheap labor and lower cost in all
different perspectives. To accomplish anything, we all have to take a risk on it. So a successful
business will focus on getting the positive factors and avoiding the negative factors. great leaders

Barn Burning Foreshadowing
In the short story Barn Burning, the narrator, William Faulkner, uses many different types of
descriptions and ways to make the reader think about the whole story. He puts so many conflicts
in the story that all comes back to one huge problem. The theme of this story is to show the way
men put their own pride before the law. The way Faulkner shows this theme is by using symbols,
conflict, and motifs. This first example of Faulkner using symbolism is by him using the
expensive rug he soils. Snopes soils the rug by stepping on it with manure on his shoes; this
eventually leads to the destruction of the rug. Snopes intentionally messes up this rug that is very
expensive, just to make a point. The rug is a symbol of everything Snopes had pride for and his
occasional opportunities. By him messing it up he shows that anything can be taken away from
you; thus, meaning all his opportunities and pride... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a lot of conflict in this story with fire. Fire is mentioned many times in this short story,
from the burning barn or the roadside fires. Fire is used to represent the honor and the way that
Snopes believes. He uses the fire to burn a barn, which sends Confederate troops go searching for
the Horse thief. He tries to use this fire to give him just one second of fame. All he wants is to be
in the spotlights for one second and he uses fire to do that. The last example is by using motif.
Faulkner uses the motif to show how darkness can take over one person s life. For example,
Snopes beats Sartoris at the roadside camp because he was mad Sartoris was planning to reveal his
guilt at the courthouse. This shows that Snopes doesn t care about the truth, all he cares about is
how his situation is. Snopes plans on burning another barn; however, Sartoris stands up for his own
morality during this whole episode. Snopes significantly cares about the way that he looks in
everyone else s eyes instead of the truth and the

Hispanic American Culture
Essentially, every culture has a specific basis, native language, religion and custom that reflects its
history, values and beliefs. These conceptual constructs represents the total reality of life within the
community of which is commonly known as Culture . Culture is not only a race, but is a way of
life. In the United States, there are many different races that integrate with the American race and
culture. However, these individuals often times may have difficulties adjusting, adapting or
maintaining their heritage. How well they acculturate and adapt to the process can have an impact
on how well the individual is able to integrate or engage to one or another culture.

A Brief Look at Field Hockey
There are hundreds of sports that are played all around the world; they are played outdoors,
indoors, and even underwater. One of these sports is hockey; hockey is played in a few ways,
street, floor, ice, and field. Although not widely televised, field hockey is popular in Canada, the
United States, Eastern Europe and regions where ice hockey is most popular. It is played in about
112 countries and is known to be one of the top six athletic teams in the world. Though the origin of
field hockeyis unknown, drawings about 4,000 years old have depicted men playing a like
version of hockey in the Beni Hasan Tombs of Egypt. Field hockey is believed to be around for
about 4,000 years; after periods of time, hockey evolved to how it is played today. In the middle
ages, hockey was very popular all around Europe, it was played in different ways and each
region had a different name for it. There were many people who were a fan of the sport, but
there were also people who hated it. In the 1300 s King Edward III of England passed a
proclamation to ban the playing of hockey along with a few other intense sports. In addition to
the banning of the sport, women weren t always allowed to play field hockey, it was considered
too intense and dangerous for women to handle until the late 1800 s when it was first introduced to
British Universities. In the early 1900 s a physical education teacher by the name of Constance
M.K. Applebee introduced field hockey to the United States. Field Hockey

Migrant Workers Research Paper
Committee: Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM)
Topic: Promoting the human rights of migrant workers
Country: Mexico
All persons, regardless of their nationality, race, legal or other status, are entitled to fundamental
human rights and basic labour protections, including migrant workers and their families. Therefore,
the human rights of migrant workers and their families include the universal, indivisible,
interconnected and interdependent human rights such as rights to receive equal wages, safe
working conditions: migrant s legal status freedom from forced labour protection against arbitrary
expulsion return home if the migrant wishes standard of living, families to reunification along with
other rights.
Fundamental demographic, economic, and educational changes have set Mexico on a new path,
significantly altering its migration related priorities and concerns regarding the United States and
Central America. Mexican migration is primarily a result of inadequate employment opportunities
and limited economic incentives in the country itself followed by kinship relations in destination
locations. Lack of opportunity for meaningful employment largely stems from stagnant growth in
Mexico, which has averaged 2.5% for the last three decades, far below the 5% to 6% growth rate
needed to create employment for new entrants into the labour force. As a result, many
entrepreneurial Mexicans seek ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Beneficial Properties of Edible Weeds
All too often, homeowners and gardeners wage war in their lawns and gardens against the plants
that grow incredibly well there, but that aren t intentionally planted, and many times, the
justification for these battles all comes down to the words we use to describe them.
When we buy and plant packets of common flower, vegetable, or herb seeds, we spend a lot of
time, energy, and water in our efforts to get those seeds to germinate and grow, and take pride in
our green thumb and homegrown food supply.
But when a plant that we identify as being a weed is found growing in our lawn or garden, out
comes the trowel and hoe (or for the ruthless and impatient gardeners, weedkillers such as
RoundUp), and we may spend the entire growing season keeping these opportunistic and resilient
plants at bay, in order to have neat and tidy garden beds and uniform lawns. And it s too bad,
really, as many of the common garden weeds are not only edible and nutritious, but can be a great
homegrown (and free) addition to our meals.
Part of the resistance to eating plants that we believe to be weeds, in my opinion, is that we are
conditioned to only consider the items we find in the grocery store as food, and not things that
the rest of the neighborhood sees as unwelcome invaders in lawns and gardens. And unless we ve
been exposed to eating plants that are seen as common garden weeds, and had them prepared for
us, we re probably not likely to try to eat them on our own. Once in a while, we might

Media Propaganda
Media propaganda
Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community
toward some cause or position.
As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents
information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus
possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to
produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result
is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political agenda.
Propaganda can be used as a form of political warfare.
While the term propaganda has acquired a strongly negative ... Show more content on

The Creel Commission provided themes for speeches by four minute men at public functions, and
also encouraged censorship of the American press. The Commission was so unpopular that after the
war, Congress closed it down without providing funding to organize and archive its papers.
The war propaganda campaign of Lippmann and Bernays produced within six months such an
intense anti German hysteria as to permanently impress American business (and Adolf Hitler,
among others) with the potential of large scale propaganda to control public opinion. Bernays
coined the terms group mind and engineering consent , important concepts in practical propaganda
work. The file Century of the Self by Adam Curtis documents the immense influence of these ideas
on public relations and politics throughout the last century.
The current public relations industry is a direct outgrowth of Lippmann s and Bernays work and
is still used extensively by the United States government. For the first half of the 20th century
Bernays and Lippmann themselves ran a very successful public relations firm. World saw
continued use of propaganda as a weapon of war, both by Hitler s propagandist Joseph Goebbels
and the British Political Warfare Executive, as well as the United States Office of War Information.

Neurological Amnesia
Amnesia can occur depending on the type and on the cause of amnesia. When the brain is injured,
it can interfere with memories because it damages the brain structure that forms the limbic which
is what controls the emotions and memories. This can affect many lives because the person could
forget a distant relative to a family member as well as it might cause mood swings from being
depressed into angry. There is amnesia called neurological amnesia. Neurological amnesia is when

memory had disappeared from. Occupational therapy could also allow you to get better memory
because of the games which could help memorizing new things and understanding of extended

thing you had to do day by day and can help the patient with amnesia remember your reminders
for example, taking medications. As of right now there is not a medication for most of the
amnesia s considering that there are many amnesia s.But the person can be always be supported
for example, the friend or family can talk to him about how he feels getting the person what he
needs also staying with him. If the person with amnesia has permanent for maybe a little less
severe some organizations might help him out. There are some prevention s of amnesia, avoid
alcohol because of the affects of it on the memory part of your brain, some amnesia s happen
because of concussions and concussions happen from hitting your head on the ground so you
should wear helmets when biking or playing a sport for example, football or hockey. Finally if a

Development Of The Company S Marketing Strategy

The population of the United Kingdom has been healthily rising, with an increased annual rate of
between 0.6% and 0.8% between 2009 all the way to 2013, hence reaching a projected target of
64.1 million. This increment in population was realized in the UK, mainly because of UK s high
birth rate as well as the ageing population. The growth of population will consequently boost
consumer spending, which means that more toys will be on demand. The result of this is high sales
of the building and Construction Company and the growth of the whole economy. Practically, the

Nowadays, the uptake of digital and electronic products commence at a very younger age as
children mature at a younger age than it was some few years ago. Therefore, the building and
construction kit industry should produce greater and better market innovation and products in a bid
to maintain competitiveness in a market that is already saturated with innovations and to
specifically outsmart its competitor, Lego Bricks and More creative suitcase.
The building and construction industry should focus a lot on the infant/pre school toys and
games, which account for the greatest market share in the UK toys and games market, accounting
for 440.1 million pounds, which represents a 19.7% of the total. As the infant/pre school toys and
games mainly targets children of two years and below, the company should go for toys that suit
the children. The company should preferably opt for the building and construction kit or game
which, in 2013, was seen to get the highest number of returns. The sales for activity toys
amounted to 341.8 million pounds, which represents 15% of the total toys and games sold in the
UK in 2013. Dolls, games and puzzles should also be considered by the company as they are also
greatly bought and utilized in the UK.

Fahrenheit 451 Materialism Analysis
Bradbury also warns against the materialistic view of his society. In all three texts, the characters
live in very materialistic societies. In Fahrenheit 451, people become so consumed with gaining the
newest in technology. Montag s wife asks him for a new TV, even though they had just gotten their
third one not that much earlier. With people so focused on buying more and more, by influencing
what is available, the people can be controlled. In an effort to please every minority, books are
outlawed. However the twist is that the people themselves outlawed books, without a government
decree. Beatty explains all of this to Montag by saying, It didn t come from the Government down.

The only people who still remain individual are the people connected to books. Leonard Mead,
one of the last writers, is the only person in his entire city to go for walks. He is also the only
person who seems at peace with himself, and is not inside watching TV. He also reveals that
books stopped selling, which again alludes to the fact that the people themselves led to their loss
of individuality. In Kaleidoscope, materialism is also exposed. One of the other astronauts that
are launched into the vacuum of space has multiple houses on multiple planets, and also has
several wives. He goes on and talks about it a little, until Morris interrupts him saying, I m not
jealous of you anymore, because it s over for you as it is for me, and right now it s like it never
happened (Bradbury 34). By him saying this, he rejects Lespere s materialistic ways, and proves
that he himself had thought in the same way. Yet now, he sees the faults of this thinking. This
exposure of materialism in all three texts shows that it also plays a role in the loss of individuality.
If everyone is buying exactly the same thing, people no longer create unique experiences or

`` Wrong Headed Victory `` By Michael Le Page
On his journey through his local Wal Mart, Bob stops to examine two ears of corn. The size, price,
and nutrition facts are the same. The only difference between them is on their labelling: Natural
and Genetically Modified. Bob, like many other people, instinctively chooses the natural option
without much thought.
Michael Le Page admits in his article Wrong Headed Victory, that he would unconsciously make
the same choice as Bob. He does not think it should be that way though. Through his article, he
effectively describes how to overcome the opposition of genetically modified food, and not through
the removal of labels.
Le Page s article starts by describing an ideal world, where in which people could always choose
if they wanted to consume genetically modified food products or not. He then argues that this is
not a perfect and ideal world, where billions of people are starving because there is not enough
food. Le Page also pronounces that this number will continue to grow as the earth s population
continues to increase and farming becomes more expensive. He then claims that farming is
contributing to global warming and the world needs a more efficient method of producing food.
Le Page enlightens the reader that the technology needed to accomplish that task already exists
through genetically modified food, but there are multiple reasons why it has not been fully utilized
yet. One of the problems is that the poorer countries do not have the money to afford these better

Sexual Assault And Assault Response And Prevention Program
History Sexual assault has plagued the military since its inception. The chain of command (COC)
is responsible for maintaining the good order and conduct of our service members (SMs).
Unfortunately, the U.S. military has not been able to effectively combat the occurrences of sexual
assault. Billions of taxpayer dollars have been thrown at the problem, programs have been
implemented and task forces have been mobilized. To combat this epidemic, the Sexual Harassment

Removing the authority from the victim s COC is believed to reduce bias and the fear of
retaliation by commanding officers (COs). Within 180 days of the enactment of the bill,
administrative hierarchies will convene to create policies and procedures to adhere to the
mandates of S.1752. Within the deadline, policies and procedures will be disseminated to the
lowest level in memorandum format (Military Justice Improvement Act, 2013). Victims of sexual
assault are intended to be empowered to safely and confidentially report a crime to their COC and
be assured that justice will be served without reprisal. S.1752 is designed to protect SMs who are
victims of sexual assault from a corrupt or neglectful COC by removing their authority in the matter.
Policy Analysis A systematic analysis of S.1752 is essential to forecasting potential intended and

extent to which this bill will accomplish it s purpose of removing the authority of sexual assault

prosecutors under the authority of the UCMJ. The economic feasibility is difficult to quantify

Abstract. “Astrobiology Is The Field Of Study Focused On
Abstract
Astrobiology is the field of study focused on searches for life and possible habitats for such life
on other worlds (2014). The science of astrobiology has many areas of study and is important
because it helps us find other places in the universe that could be habitable, determine the potential
for habitable planets beyond the solar system, and understand those planets that we can observe in
the universe. Scientists have many ideas on how to recognize signs of life on other planets (Des
Marais et al., 2008). NASA has done many missions to planets and moons in our solar system and
beyond, searching for life.

Habitable world s research uses the history of life on Earth to discover life on other worlds and how
it might develop. It also searches for life that once existed on dead planets. Research in the area of
emerging worlds tries to understand how the sun and the planets surrounding it developed.
Instrument development programs to see far off worlds involves building satellites and telescopes
that can see distant worlds and distant conditions for habitation ( NASA Astrobiology, n.d. )
Exoplanet research advances our knowledge and understanding of planets outside of our solar

involves efforts to not contaminate other planets by introducing hazardous organisms. This keeps
other planets in a natural state and it ensures any organisms found by scientists on other planets did
not originate from Earth. It also involves protecting our planet from organisms from other worlds.
This is done by setting planetary protection policy, designing sterile spacecraft, and planning to
protect the Earth from organisms in returned samples. The goal of the laboratory analysis of
returned samples is laboratory testing for samples returned from missions to

No Russian: The Modern Warfare Against Videogame Violence
While the movie industry has powerful rating boards such as the Motion Picture Association of
America (MPAA) that regulate and censor an offensive product, the video game industry does not
have a respectable, official rating board. Instead, the videogame industry has the Entertainment
Software Rating Board (ESRB), which is a non profit, self regulatory body that was created in 1994
by the Entertainment Software Association. The ESRB esteems itself as the vanguard of providing
concise and objective information about the content in video games and apps so consumers,
especially parents, can make informed choices (ESRB). To provide guidance about age

Consequently, while the liberal nature of the ESRB as a voluntary board existing merely for

thin line of moral boundaries concerning artistic expression.
As the elevator was rising, Russian ultranationalist terrorist leader Vladimir Makarov gazed intently
at his comrades and beckoned, Remember No Russian, initiating one of the most controversial
moments of videogame history. During the level Remember No Russian of the popular first person
shooter videogame Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the player assumes the role of a deep cover
CIA agent, Joseph Allen, who is attempting to gather Intel on a highly dangerous Russian
ultranationalist terrorist group. What started as a simple intel mission led to Agent Allen
participating in an armed plot to massacre all the people in a Russian airport. As the elevator doors

splattered all over the airport as civilians fled in terror from the oncoming slaughter. Amidst this
bloodbath, some civilians displayed altruism as they attempted to drag the injured to safety;
however, those self less efforts were trampled on by more shots and more deaths. At the end of

Captain America Societal Figure
Captain America: American Societal Figure
Ever since the early 20th century, superheroes have been created and written about for readers
around the world. Although they are popular for their entertainment value, superheroes provide a
deeper, more profound purpose for society. For example, they serve as role models, teach vital
morals, and help people cope with real world issues. Possibly the best example of these purposes
can be found in Captain America, as he represents the American people through his loyalty and
dedication to the citizens of the United States of America. He was created by Joe Simon and Jack
Kirby to represent a fighting figure for America in World War II. This would not only strengthen the
American identity, but also garner the interest of Americans in joining the war effort. Captain
America symbolizes patriotism as he relentlessly supports and fights for America.
Captain America was created in early 1941 by writer Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby. Since
Simon and Kirby strongly believed that the United States should intervene in World War II to fight
Adolf Hitler, they created Captain America as a vehicle to draw attention to the threat posed by
Nazi Germany, (Schnakenberg). In the first comics that he starred in, Captain America was
portrayed as a soldier who passionately fought on the American side of World War II. The soldier
went to war for America and was loyal to the American cause, inspiring American citizens to join
the war effort. His origin

The King Of Thailand s Philosophy Of Sufficient Economy
This paper takes a look at the King of Thailand s philosophy of Sufficiency Economy which
contains a Buddhist belief that stresses the middle path as a prime principle for proper conduct by
all levels of the population. Its application begins from the level of individuals and families through
to communities and the nation itself in terms of development and administration. Thailandwas well
known for its agricultural commodities and being one of the world s top rice exporters despite
being a developing country faced with challenges such as economic growth and poverty. The World

The National Education Act 1999 and the Constitution of the Kingdom 1997 urged for a reform

An Average Sized Person By My Own Society s Standards
An average sized person by my own society s standards, I have developed over the last few days,
a sudden complex: I feel gargantuan in size as I stand a head above the throngs of people I am
swarmed by, while attempting to make my way through the crosswalk. Rarely one prone to
anxiety, it is difficult not to become overwhelmed; never have I seen so many people in one
place. Tokyo after all, boasts nearly half the population that Canada does in its entirety. Feeling
the familiar wave of nausea that had accompanied me since landing, I signal to my friend
Yasuyo, my need to stop. It feels as though the world itself is tilting and that gravity has ceased
to exist, and as the earth continues to shift under my feet, I start to believe that in a moment I
will topple off its surface. I thought jet lag simply equated tiredness. I lean against a building in
an attempt to steady myself. My fear of humiliating myself and my company is slowly starting
to subside as the wave passes. What takes its place is a feeling so profound it too, becomes
physical. I look up to the sky and although it is mid day I can see the half moon. I wonder if any
of my friends back home happened to be gazing at the same moon in that very moment. It is then
that the sweeping realization came over me; I had succeeded in making a small but victorious step
towards fulfilling my dream of traversing the globe. Seventeen years and twenty five countries later,
that feeling is not one that has since been replicated,

The Trial of the Sensational Oscar Wilde
The Trial of the Sensational Oscar Wilde
Ed Cohen s Talk on the Wilde Side discusses the trial of Oscar Wilde in 1895. Cohen explores the
lack of legal transcripts of the case which relies on newspaper press reports and accounts to
document this lawsuit. His investigations into the clarity of the newspaper accounts found that they
were themselves highly mediated stories whose narrative structures organized and gave meaningful
shapes to the events they purported to accurately represent (4). In the second part of his book,
Cohen discusses Oscar Wilde s trial and its importance, the results of the fictionalized newspaper
accounts of the proceedings, as well as the role of Wilde s The Picture of Dorian Gray in the legal ...

This characterized Wilde as the epitome of effeminacy. He is also described as disrespectful of
the law and its proceedings. On the other hand, the Marquis of Queensberry is depicted as the
model of masculinity as well as a profligate and a degenerate aristocrat (138). These
characterizations did wonders for the Marquis s defense.
The newspapers suffered a setback that they actually ended up using to their benefit. The word
sodomy, although used in the courtroom, was deemed unrespectable and could not appear in the
newspapers that told of the legal proceedings. The newspapers proceeded to describe the
allegation in creative ways that actually incriminated Wilde. They negatively characterized Wilde
s behavior as immoral, immodest, unnatural, improper, indecent, unrespectable, disreputable,
etc., in order to avoid having to specify positively the actual sexual acts named in Queensberry s
defense (144). These negative terms helped characterize Wilde as a bad man and as a criminal.
The papers also named the crime in acceptable ways calling it the gravest of all offenses (148).
This news helped portray Wilde not only as a deviant, but as the guilty party in the case. The
newspapers not only helped start this trial inadvertently through the Scots Observer article, but
helped paint Oscar Wilde as the criminal and the Marquis of

Impact Of The French And Indian War
4) What was the impact of the Seven Years War (i.e., French and Indian War)? on the emergence of
American nationalism?
Almost 50 years of contention amongst Britain and France over North America was resolved in the
French and Indian War. At the point when the war started, there were more than around 2 million
British colonists already in America and around 65,000 French in Canada. The French focused to
secure the land against outside traders, and so they created a chain of posts along Pennsylvania s
Allegheny River. The British requested colonist governors to stop the French progress, by force
if essential. Congress affirmed the arrangement of managing Native American trade, and so on,
however the colonies declined to confirm it. In 1758, the British, with colonial powers helping,
seized Louisbourg, a French fort guarding the St. Lawrence River. In 1759, British powers
traveled up the St. Louis River, laid attack on the city of QuГ©bec for three months, and
vanquished French powers in September. The following year, Montreal additionally surrendered to
the British, finishing the war in America. The war arrived at an official end in 1763, with the
marking of the Treaty of Paris. The bargain gave Britain all French land in Canada aside from two
small islands south of Newfoundland. Essentially, triumphant Britain kept Canada as opposed to
the vanquished slave colonies of Guadeloupe and Martinique, which returned back to France.

The Emergence of Appalachian Stereotypes in 19th Century...
In the world of Appalachia, stereotypes are abundant. There are stories told of mountaineers as lazy,
bewildered, backward, and yet happy and complacent people. Mountain women are seen as diligent,
strong, hard willed, and overall sturdy and weathered, bearing the burden of their male counterparts.
These ideas of mountainlife did not come out of thin air; they are the direct product of sensational
nineteenth century media including print journalism and illustrative art that has continuously
mislead and wrongfully represented the people of Appalachia. These stories, written and told by
outsiders, served very little purpose to Appalachian natives other than means of humiliation and
degradation. They served mostly to convince readers of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These proliferated the idea of unkempt and unruly natured people, pastoral, lazy and at the same
time content to remain in a disparagingly hostile existence. These writers and illustrators were
often men who traveled through the mountain regions and spent time with the people there
(McNeil, 59). They were frequently invited to stay with families who were honored to have
them as guests, and treated to every hospitality an Appalachian family could afford. When James
Lane Allen, who was a teacher in Lexington KY for twelve years, decided to change careers in
1885, traveled to New York to become a writer, while there he was told to find a definite field and
explore it for literacy materials. (McNeal, 59) Deciding to return to Kentucky, Allen began
publishing his works in magazines in 1886, his work primarily focusing on Kentucky as two
distinct regions, the civilized Bluegrass Region and the rough Cumberland Mountains. In James
Lane Allen s Through Cumberland Gap on Horseback, the mention is made to the beauty of the
land and that the climate was just the same but that traveling to the mountain region was not only
difficult as they had to take a train then a wagon ride, followed by a trek on horseback, but a
lengthy process. Among the experiences recorded Allen describes the meeting of several locals and

Civil Liberties And The Government Of The United States
Legal historian Geoffrey Stones claims that the government of the United States has in the past
overreacted in times of war and crisis, and has seriously violated many civil liberties. A
democracy requires high levels of civil rights, liberties, and political openness in order for its
citizens to fully participate in political election, and other governmental activities; however, the
demands of national security usually require much less openness, secrecy, and limitations on civil
rights and liberties. Throughout history there have been times were large numbers of individuals
have experienced political discrimination and have had great difficulty exercising their civil
liberties. Ethnic minority groups, and immigrants have been among the most targeted by the
government in times of crisis. Under conditions of war, American civil liberties and political
participation are usually curtailed and violated in many ways by the government, usually with the
active support of some groups and people in society. Times of national security threat are often
accompanied by what historian Richard Hofstadter calls the paranoid style in American politics. In
other words, war produces preoccupation with internal threats to national security, and some
groups with in society are targeted as security ricks because of their ethnic or political belief. This
paper will briefly explore different times and crisis were civil liberties have been obstructed by the
government for national security

Valley Winery, a successful wine company based in California is quite profitable but faces many

With regards to continuous restructuring of the company. This issue is a big factor that even
stimulates the first problem. With the re evaluation of the organizational structure the employees
tend to lose confidence and trust in those in charge and therefore their performance is hindered
because of this. Concerning the hiring skills of the company it is very inefficient such as recruiting
college kids, newspaper advertisements, employment agencies and job notices on job search
websites. These hiring skills are very costly and time consuming. The high expectations of
management to meet high quotas is unreasonable and thus puts pressure on the salesmen causing
them to perform unethical actions such as posting incorrect sales figures just to please their
managers. Options that can assist the firm in these issues are by management evaluating the
company and making a consistent and permanent organizational structure. To make the hiring
process more efficient it needs to be shorter in length, be specific in the characteristics of the
potential employee to avoid the many steps and narrow the amount of hiring methods to reduce
costs. Not stretching quotas is another factor that needs to be considered by management. This can
be done through lowering their expectations of sales in the same time frame that currently exists
making them realistic, give incentives if they need to be stretched, employ feedback from sales
persons so as to assign comfortable quotas around each

Death Of The Ball Turret Gunner By Randall Jerrell Analysis
During war, there are two possible outcomes for a soldier engaged in battle life or death. In the
poem Randall Jerrell wrote in 1945, The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , the most significant
thing one notices about the speaker is the fact that he s dead. The airman is telling the story of his
own deathfrom the grave. This gives a different perspective on the poem than if his friend were
the speaker. If the airman s friend were telling the story, it would have a more dramatic detailed
account of the incident; however, since the speaker is dead, he doesn t get too worked up
recounting the graphic events that led to his demise. Speaking from the dead allows the airman to
completely center the account on himself and not the details of how someone

Samsung also came out with a variety of convergence products which gave the firm an extra boost

Beethoven Concert Symphony No 6
BEETHOVEN CONCERTS
The Pastorale Symphony and the Emperor Piano Concerto, one named by Ludwig van Beethoven
and the other by a friend, are splendid examples of Beethoven s musical acumen. These pieces are
more formally known as Beethoven s Symphony No. 6 and Piano Concerto No. 5. This concert
report will cover both pieces and will contain my impressions of each piece. Symphony No. 6
Pastorale was performed by the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and was conducted by
Paavo Jarvi during their Beethoven series. Piano Concerto No. 5 Emperor was performed by
Murray Perahia (Piano) accompanied by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, conducted by
Neville Marriner. The dates of the performances are not known because this... Show more content

The five movements of Beethoven s Symphony No. 6 Pastorale draw listeners in with a quick, but
leisurely tempo and rich developed movements. The symphony seemingly flows and fits the titles
beautifully. It is easy to paint a picture of a noble countryside, nature, and all the activities it entails.
Beethoven s Piano Concerto No.5 Emperor is a three part traditional concerto, an Allegro, Adagio,
and the Rondo. This concerto was named Emperor because of the powerful themes and heroic note
of the composition (www.all about beethoven.com/concerto5.html).
The opening of the concerto brings a main theme introduced by a solo piano with the full
orchestra providing a dramatic presence of several chords. The piano flourishes grow in length
until reaching a cadenza after the third time. The full orchestra joins in and carries the theme into
the full exposition. The theme is bold with a pleasant interjection of a second subject that seems
to tiptoe through the movement. The orchestra stays in the tonic key as the piano modulates and
reaches a wide variety of tones as the scales are worked. The development of the movement
effectively flips the lead. The orchestra now leads and the piano accompanies. The main theme
rhythm is reinforced by a powerful bassoon. The coda is lead by horns and joined by the rest of
the orchestra to a thrilling close.
The second movement is a slow movement and begins quietly

Evaluating A Remuneration Policy And Selecting Qualified...
Introduction I would like to discuss some of the plans I have established for the company. The
points that I will be discussing today are: formulating a remuneration policy, recruiting and selecting
qualified employees, design and implementation of a compensation and performance management
system, ensuring equal employment opportunities, and developing effective organization and
leadership. One of my main functions would be to formulate a remuneration policy in such a way
that employees give optimal performance and feel they get a fair deal, new employees are
attracted to the organization, and the organization is able to retain existing employees. This serves
as a motivation tool for employees to perform better. In order to arrive at a... Show more content on

I will also try to sell the organization to the potential candidates, which is to convince the
candidates that the organization is a good place to work and that we offer what they want in the
way of both tangible and intangible rewards. Attracting and selecting the most qualified
employees and matching them to the jobs for which they are best suited is important for the
success of our organization. When we are selecting the people who will join our workforce,
picking the best workers is inherent to this responsibility. The selection of the best employees will
be based not only on the candidates ability, knowledge, experience and skills to do the specific task
needed, but also their professionalism. When those people work for us, they represent more than
just themselves, they are the image of the organization. In an effort to improve morale and
productivity and limit job turnover, they also help the organization effectively use employee skills,
provide training opportunities to enhance those skills, and boost employee satisfaction with their
jobs and working conditions. Understaffing loses the business economies of scale and
specialization, customers, and profits. Overstaffing is wasteful and expensive. My plan requires
that an assessment of present and future needs of the organization be compared with present
resources and future predicted resources. Human Resources Policies In order to meet its

Aaron Is An Nfl Star
Aaron Hernandez was an NFL star. He was a college player the University of Florida, Hernandez
was an All American player and a member of the BCS National Championship Team. He was
drafted into the New England Patriots in 2010, where he became the youngest active player on
any roster in the NFL (Aaron Hernandez Essay). He was only one of two tight end players on
one of the leading teams in the National Football League. During his 2010 season, he was
named Rookie of the Week by Pepsi; he played in his second season the Super Bowl in the NFL;
and by his third year playing with the Patriots he received the highest signing bonus of an NFL
tight end in history. Other than all of that Hernandez had a dark side to him that had a severe impact

Hernandez not only imitated his father s sports star status playing for the Patriots, but also
became involved with criminals and took on the role of his father s gang type lifestyle and
began using drugs. His lifestyle choices almost prevented him from gaining his success as an
athlete in the NFL. Despite his obvious talents, NFL teams were wary of drafting Hernandez
due to his admitted flunking of a drug test. Privately, many teams also worried about his
association with gang types from his home neighborhood. He fell to the fourth round in the 2010
NFL draft before the New England Patriots selected him with the 113th overall pick (Bio, 2015).
Once he was drafted, Hernandez quickly proved his professionalism as a football player. He had
45 catches in his first year, which was a Patriots team record for the tight ends, helping the team
secure the AFC Championship. In his second year, playing alongside with Rob Gronkowski, he
led the Patriots offense with 24 touchdowns and 2,237 receiving yards, helping secure the team s
position in the Super Bowl XLVI. Then in his third year he was injured, but was still positioned to
become a leader of the team, which was recognized by the Patriots with his sizable signing bonus
(A E, 2015). Although Hernandez would not be indicted for murderuntil 2013, his legal problems
began in early 2007, while still attending the University of Florida.

Intern Project Essay
Projects
Intern Projects
Below I have compiled a quick list of all the projects that I worked on while I was at Garmin AT
and my role in the project. All the proprietary information has been removed so some details may
be intentionally vague.
Major Projects
Flight Data Logging Gathered flight data from many parts of the system in 1 second intervals.
Built a page that would allow exporting of this data to an SD card by the end user.
WAAS Data Logging Gathered WAAS data as it was being sent to our system and stored the
information in its own logs. Also allowed exporting of this data to an SD card by the end user.

Obstacle DB Integration I wrote the requirements for the integration of the obstacle database for the
system I was working on.
Mock up UI Options The pages I created all had to be accessed from other pages. Because of this
we had to do a review of how the pages would look after I had changed them to ensure they still
met Garmin standards. I had to adjust the size of some icons, text, and move buttons around. In
many cases I submitted multiple different possible layouts for the changed pages so that our UI
team could pick the option that looked best.
Wiki Pages Created a wiki page for new hires and interns on our team to show them how to use
the GIT repo our team had. This shows how to get it set up and how to use the features of GIT that
were used on the team I was on.
Main Project Details
Probably the single best project that describes my internship is the data logging project. This was
a project that I was given almost a month after I started but also lasted until almost the end of my
internship. This was also one of the largest projects I worked on that I can discuss in enough detail
to explain why it describes my internship.
This was a great project for any intern or new employee because of the amount of exposure that it
gave to the codebase. It required pieces of many different part of the Garmin libraries as there was
a lot of information that went into the logs. Because of this, I had to gain more understanding

Increase Student Achievement And Increase Teacher...
Abstract This topic brief is going to look at performance pay and if this type of program can be
used to increase student achievement and increase teacher accountability with maintaining a
positive culture. This is currently a hot topic in many states and there are states that are looking to
adopt this program and some states are dropping it. In some schools this type of program has
proven to raise student achievement, but people argue that although these schools have had
success, there is little evidence that shows that the results are sustainable for long term success.
Keywords: student achievement, merit pay, teacher accountability
Performance Pay Program I chose to focus on this topic because it is a topic that I have strong
feelings about when it comes to education. It is a topic that is highly debated in our country and is
a program that is said to fix the problem that some say we have in public education. In fact, we
see this topic being discussed by the President and Secretary of Education as they have instituted
the 4.3 billion dollar Race to the Top to enforce student achievement data into teacher evaluations
and help enforce the concept of pay for performance. In this paper, we are going to look at
performance pay and how we use student achievement to base a teacher s effectiveness and if it is
truly an effective way of helping increase our nation s educational success. The United States is
usually compared to other countries that

George Berkeley
George Berkeley sort of follows up on John Locke s philosophy in being immaterial or idealist.
The excerpt seems to me like an attempt in solidifying Locke s notions about ideas existing but
directly questions the existence of matter or substance. I don t feel Locke was being so bold.
According to Berkeley, something exists only if it can be perceived. An entity must be able to
perceive and form notions/ideas about the object in order for said object to exist. Anything that
cannot be perceived does not exist? As I was quickly forming counter arguments to this claim,
Berkeley goes on to say that God, of infinite mind, perceives all objects so even if no other entity is
there to perceive it, the object remains in existence. Talk about a master key. My... Show more

In some ways, I believe our thought functions have evolved sufficiently in the course of the last
few hundred years that allow us to conceive of bodies extended and moved without attributing
sensible qualities. A moving naked singularity somewhere out in the intergalactic medium comes to
mind. It has no sensible qualities that I can ascribe to it. Any primary and secondary qualities
would arise wholly from other material around the singularity. Without material around it, it still
exists to me without qualities (unless he would call my notions of the affect the singularity would
have on incident matter qualities). I still acknowledge its existence and therefore recognize its
potential roles in cause and effect. What would Berkeley s thoughts be on inertial forces in
accelerated reference frames? Specifically, the gravitational force, a force that arises by the mere
presence of substance. True to determine anything quantitative you would need the qualities of the
substance, but even a singularity imposes a gravitational force and a singularity doesn t even have
a formally defined radius or extent yet alone any of the other qualities he

The Most Dangerous Game
Richard Connell s The Most Dangerous Game is a very exciting story of a manhunt. This story
made me think about the morality of hunting: Humans are the cleverest creatures on earth, but does
it give them a license to kill the other animals and even human beings weaker than themselves? I
give below a short summary of the story to set the scene and then I will explore the ethics involved
in hunting as a sport. The Most Dangerous Gamepresents the story of a hunter, General
Zaroff, who finds hunting human beings as the most dangerous and fascinating sport. He likes
hunting humans because human beings, unlike the other animals, can reason better and so provide
a richer thrill for the hunter. He does not think hunting human ... Show more content on

Our knowledge of ecology also teaches us that by killing animals we may be tampering with the
delicate ecosystem and inviting our own destruction.
Human beings are probably the most intelligent creatures on earth. That is why they have a great
responsibility of keeping intact the life of the earth. Indiscriminate killing for sport is an uncivilized
and anti intellectual activity, because we should share this world with the other animals and live in
harmony with them.
Harmonious existence is the key to civilization and survival. It is our moral responsibility to tend
life on earth, not destroy it. Weak or strong every creature is beautiful and essential for the health
of the world, and it is our moral obligation to see that the other creatures share this world with us.

It has become fan favorites all over the world. It will literally take you out your seat in fear. Can
you guess which one it is? It is indeed the genre of horror. Horror has been around for ages in
entertainment and when it hit the games back in the late 1980s it wasn t as popular as it is now.
The game that started it all was Resident Evil 1 for PlayStation 1. As a kid, most remember
playing this game and enjoying every moment of the jump scares and total rampage. It was a
horror game that also added the factor of a third person shooter, surviving in a whole lot of
different scenarios, having you stay up for hours trying to complete the whole game and explore
every crevice of the game. The franchise is one of the most popular of them all. Another
example of the more popular games that came out back in 2014 is Five Nights At Freddy s. The
franchise has then released many more games after that ranging from Five Nights At Freddy s 1
all the way to 4, Five Nights At Freddy s World and Five Nights At Freddy s : Sisters Location.
(Five Nights at Freddy s)Every kid knowing this game and having played it, it shows how horror
and the aspect of not knowing can introduce curiosity in a person and have you playing these

Symbolism In Hatchet By Gary Paulsen
In the book hatchet there is a main theme, the theme is to symbolize survival in a harsh place. I
think this is the main theme because there is significant textual evidence Brian survives for
about 54 days. This is also shown when Brian tries and gets the medical kit inside the plane. So
basically the Symbolism of this book is to survive. Also, he uses his hatchet in some parts of the
book to make and build his fort. How would you react if you were in his situation? Would you be
in a position to survive?
In one of the scenes in Hatchet Gary Paulsen uses repetition. In one of the scenes of the book
Bryan thought to himself I am rich, rich with food now, just rich... He described the berries in
the book as Sweet and not as distasteful as the gut cherries. One effect of this is to show how
grateful Bryan is to find food and to show how desperate he was. Bryan acts like he has just found
a gold mine when he tastes the rich berries. This shows the main character in this book is super
happy. This relates to the theme because it depicts survival by Brian finding the berries.... Show

with his writing and his literary devices. This symbolizes survival because he was observant of his

Indications and Surgical Considerations for Implant Placement in Maxillary Incisive Canal a Case
Series
Rhebi, Nadia; Ochoa Durand, Daniel; Suzuki, Takanori; Cho, Sang Choon; Froum, Stuart
Introduction
Implant surgery in the edentulous premaxilla is often challenging because of esthetic, phonetic and
biomechanical considerations. In the maxilla, resorption following tooth extraction occurs mainly
within the first 3 12 months post operatively (1). Bone resorption following tooth loss occurs in
both a lingual and apical direction, resulting in an edentulous maxilla that is narrower with a loss
of vertical height. This resorption is responsible for the edge to edge or reverses occlusal relation
of the residual crests that is often observed in patients with completely edentulous maxillae (2).
At times, ridge resorption in the maxilla is so severe that is necessary to augment the bone in order
to place an implant. In some cases, conventional ridge augmentation cannot build enough bone to
place implants, especially in fully edentulous cases. A number of bone augmentation methods have
been developed specifically for implant placement in the severely resorbed maxilla. These include
split ridge augmentation (3), distraction osteogenesis (4), ridge augmentation using guided bone
regeneration with various kinds of graft materials, and sinus augmentation (5). Most of these
procedures are not only technique sensitive and

Renaissance Research Paper
The Renaissance, a time defined as the rebirth of classical ideals, occurred in Italy between 1350
and 1600. Spreading quickly throughout Europe, with the innovation of the printing press, it caused
rippling effects. The Renaissance ultimately altered the aged education of theology from the Dark
Ages and renewed it with studies of more ancient, classic works. Classic art and literature grew
extremely popular, contrasting the lack of interest in them before. Many artists became prominent
advocates for the revival of the ideals of the classical past. The artists, using their masterpieces,
tremendously determined how modern historians view the era. While several aspects of the
Renaissance contributed and influenced the time, artists like MichelangeloBuonarroti, Leonardo da
Vinci, and Raffaello Sanzio had a stronger effect on and are greater representations of the time.
Leonardo da Vinci, born April 15, 1452, has been labeled by History.com editors as the ultimate
Renaissance man, [who] practiced all the visual arts and studied a wide range of topics, including
anatomy, geology, botany, hydraulics and flight. (History.com Staff) Da Vinci is a renowned artist
of his time. As a child, da Vinci had not been educated in art, but at the age of 15 his father had
him apprenticed to Andrea del Verrocchio of Florence. Until da Vinci became an independent master
in 1478, he remained with Verrocchio studying and learning techniques. When da Vinci moved to

Battle Of Bunker Hill Essay
THE BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL Introduction The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the first
battles fought during the American Revolution between a misfit army of American colonists and
the Royal British Army. The Revolutionary War was a result of patriot colonists speaking out
against the taxes and regulations being imposed upon them by King George III and resulted in the
establishment of America as an independent nation. The objectives of the Battle of Bunker Hill
were first and foremost to stand up to the British army, and secondly, to keep the British from
gaining complete control over the city of Boston and the surrounding area. History Historically, The
Battle of Bunker Hill is one of, if not THE most notable battle during the American Revolution.
Events leading up to the Battle of Bunker Hill began twelve years prior with the British
Proclamation of 1773 which prohibited colonists from settling west of the Appellation Mountains.1
Over the next twelve years, British rule instituted many expensive taxes on everything from
marriage licenses to sugar and tea. Harsh treatment from the British troops occupying the American
colonies also contributed to the growing unrest among the colonists. Patriots such as Samuel Adams

Throughout this journal, one can see that Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as outgoing

amount of explanations. First of all, she went on a trip with her boyfriend and had to go a few
days without clothes. She has decided to make outfits on the go. Some people may believe that
she is outgoing because this is not easy to pull off. In addition, Rebecca is not afraid to take
risks. She went on a trip with Luke in a days notice. Rebecca may feel like she is being a good

innovated. She interacts with people well and can start a conversation with any person. She also
puts herself out there like talking to people she does not know at the wedding. On the other
hand, Rebecca Bloomwood can be characterized as ecstatic for an assorted number of reasons.
The first reason is she came up with a motto to go by. In the book it states, My new motto is buy
only what you need. I know, it sounds almost too simple but it really does work. Before each
purchase, I ask myself one question: do I need this? And only if the answer is yes do I make the
purchase. Its all just a matter of self discipline . This quote shows that she gives herself a goal in

  • 3. Barn Burning Foreshadowing In the short story Barn Burning, the narrator, William Faulkner, uses many different types of descriptions and ways to make the reader think about the whole story. He puts so many conflicts in the story that all comes back to one huge problem. The theme of this story is to show the way men put their own pride before the law. The way Faulkner shows this theme is by using symbols, conflict, and motifs. This first example of Faulkner using symbolism is by him using the expensive rug he soils. Snopes soils the rug by stepping on it with manure on his shoes; this eventually leads to the destruction of the rug. Snopes intentionally messes up this rug that is very expensive, just to make a point. The rug is a symbol of everything Snopes had pride for and his occasional opportunities. By him messing it up he shows that anything can be taken away from you; thus, meaning all his opportunities and pride... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a lot of conflict in this story with fire. Fire is mentioned many times in this short story, from the burning barn or the roadside fires. Fire is used to represent the honor and the way that Snopes believes. He uses the fire to burn a barn, which sends Confederate troops go searching for the Horse thief. He tries to use this fire to give him just one second of fame. All he wants is to be in the spotlights for one second and he uses fire to do that. The last example is by using motif. Faulkner uses the motif to show how darkness can take over one person s life. For example, Snopes beats Sartoris at the roadside camp because he was mad Sartoris was planning to reveal his guilt at the courthouse. This shows that Snopes doesn t care about the truth, all he cares about is how his situation is. Snopes plans on burning another barn; however, Sartoris stands up for his own morality during this whole episode. Snopes significantly cares about the way that he looks in everyone else s eyes instead of the truth and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. A Brief Look at Field Hockey There are hundreds of sports that are played all around the world; they are played outdoors, indoors, and even underwater. One of these sports is hockey; hockey is played in a few ways, street, floor, ice, and field. Although not widely televised, field hockey is popular in Canada, the United States, Eastern Europe and regions where ice hockey is most popular. It is played in about 112 countries and is known to be one of the top six athletic teams in the world. Though the origin of field hockeyis unknown, drawings about 4,000 years old have depicted men playing a like version of hockey in the Beni Hasan Tombs of Egypt. Migrant Workers Research Paper Committee: Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) Topic: Promoting the human rights of migrant workers Country: Mexico All persons, regardless of their nationality, race, legal or other status, are entitled to fundamental human rights and basic labour protections, including migrant workers and their families. Therefore, the human rights of migrant workers and their families include the universal, indivisible, interconnected and interdependent human rights such as rights to receive equal wages, safe working conditions: migrant s legal status freedom from forced labour protection against arbitrary expulsion return home if the migrant wishes standard of living, families to reunification along with other rights. Fundamental demographic, economic, and educational changes have set Mexico on a new path, significantly altering its migration related priorities and concerns regarding the United States and Central America. Mexican migration is primarily a result of inadequate employment opportunities and limited economic incentives in the country itself followed by kinship relations in destination locations. Lack of opportunity for meaningful employment largely stems from stagnant growth in Mexico, which has averaged 2.5% for the last three decades, far below the 5% to 6% growth rate needed to create employment for new entrants into the labour force. • 8. Beneficial Properties of Edible Weeds All too often, homeowners and gardeners wage war in their lawns and gardens against the plants that grow incredibly well there, but that aren t intentionally planted, and many times, the justification for these battles all comes down to the words we use to describe them. When we buy and plant packets of common flower, vegetable, or herb seeds, we spend a lot of time, energy, and water in our efforts to get those seeds to germinate and grow, and take pride in our green thumb and homegrown food supply. But when a plant that we identify as being a weed is found growing in our lawn or garden, out comes the trowel and hoe (or for the ruthless and impatient gardeners, weedkillers such as RoundUp), and we may spend the entire growing season keeping these opportunistic and resilient plants at bay, in order to have neat and tidy garden beds and uniform lawns. And it s too bad, really, as many of the common garden weeds are not only edible and nutritious, but can be a great homegrown (and free) addition to our meals. Part of the resistance to eating plants that we believe to be weeds, in my opinion, is that we are conditioned to only consider the items we find in the grocery store as food, and not things that the rest of the neighborhood sees as unwelcome invaders in lawns and gardens. And unless we ve been exposed to eating plants that are seen as common garden weeds, and had them prepared for us, we re probably not likely to try to eat them on our own. Once in a while, we might ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Media Propaganda Media propaganda Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political agenda. Propaganda can be used as a form of political warfare. The Creel Commission provided themes for speeches by four minute men at public functions, and also encouraged censorship of the American press. The Commission was so unpopular that after the war, Congress closed it down without providing funding to organize and archive its papers. The war propaganda campaign of Lippmann and Bernays produced within six months such an intense anti German hysteria as to permanently impress American business (and Adolf Hitler, among others) with the potential of large scale propaganda to control public opinion. Bernays coined the terms group mind and engineering consent , important concepts in practical propaganda work. The file Century of the Self by Adam Curtis documents the immense influence of these ideas on public relations and politics throughout the last century. The current public relations industry is a direct outgrowth of Lippmann s and Bernays work and is still used extensively by the United States government. For the first half of the 20th century Bernays and Lippmann themselves ran a very successful public relations firm. • 12. Development Of The Company S Marketing Strategy 2. DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPANY S MARKETING STRATEGY The population of the United Kingdom has been healthily rising, with an increased annual rate of between 0.6% and 0.8% between 2009 all the way to 2013, hence reaching a projected target of 64.1 million. This increment in population was realized in the UK, mainly because of UK s high birth rate as well as the ageing population. With people so focused on buying more and more, by influencing what is available, the people can be controlled. In an effort to please every minority, books are outlawed. Through his article, he effectively describes how to overcome the opposition of genetically modified food, and not through the removal of labels. He then argues that this is not a perfect and ideal world, where billions of people are starving because there is not enough food. Le Page also pronounces that this number will continue to grow as the earth s population continues to increase and farming becomes more expensive. Almost 50 years of contention amongst Britain and France over North America was resolved in the French and Indian War. At the point when the war started, there were more than around 2 million British colonists already in America and around 65,000 French in Canada. The French focused to secure the land against outside traders, and so they created a chain of posts along Pennsylvania s Allegheny River. The British requested colonist governors to stop the French progress, by force if essential. Congress affirmed the arrangement of managing Native American trade, and so on, however the colonies declined to confirm it. In 1758, the British, with colonial powers helping, seized Louisbourg, a French fort guarding the St. Lawrence River. In 1759, British powers traveled up the St. Louis River, laid attack on the city of QuГ©bec for three months, and vanquished French powers in September. The following year, Montreal additionally surrendered to the British, finishing the war in America. The war arrived at an official end in 1763, with the marking of the Treaty of Paris. In James Lane Allen s Through Cumberland Gap on Horseback, the mention is made to the beauty of the land and that the climate was just the same but that traveling to the mountain region was not only difficult as they had to take a train then a wagon ride, followed by a trek on horseback, but a lengthy process. Among the experiences recorded Allen describes the meeting of several locals and this is where his responsibility for Appalachian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Civil Liberties And The Government Of The United States Legal historian Geoffrey Stones claims that the government of the United States has in the past overreacted in times of war and crisis, and has seriously violated many civil liberties. A democracy requires high levels of civil rights, liberties, and political openness in order for its citizens to fully participate in political election, and other governmental activities; however, the demands of national security usually require much less openness, secrecy, and limitations on civil rights and liberties. Throughout history there have been times were large numbers of individuals have experienced political discrimination and have had great difficulty exercising their civil liberties. Ethnic minority groups, and immigrants have been among the most targeted by the government in times of crisis. Under conditions of war, American civil liberties and political participation are usually curtailed and violated in many ways by the government, usually with the active support of some groups and people in society. Times of national security threat are often accompanied by what historian Richard Hofstadter calls the paranoid style in American politics. In other words, war produces preoccupation with internal threats to national security, and some groups with in society are targeted as security ricks because of their ethnic or political belief. With the re evaluation of the organizational structure the employees tend to lose confidence and trust in those in charge and therefore their performance is hindered because of this. Concerning the hiring skills of the company it is very inefficient such as recruiting college kids, newspaper advertisements, employment agencies and job notices on job search websites. These hiring skills are very costly and time consuming. The high expectations of management to meet high quotas is unreasonable and thus puts pressure on the salesmen causing them to perform unethical actions such as posting incorrect sales figures just to please their managers. Options that can assist the firm in these issues are by management evaluating the company and making a consistent and permanent organizational structure. To make the hiring process more efficient it needs to be shorter in length, be specific in the characteristics of the potential employee to avoid the many steps and narrow the amount of hiring methods to reduce costs. Not stretching quotas is another factor that needs to be considered by management. This can be done through lowering their expectations of sales in the same time frame that currently exists making them realistic, give incentives if they need to be stretched, employ feedback from sales persons so as to assign comfortable quotas around each ... In the poem Randall Jerrell wrote in 1945, The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , the most significant thing one notices about the speaker is the fact that he s dead. The airman is telling the story of his own deathfrom the grave. This gives a different perspective on the poem than if his friend were the speaker. If the airman s friend were telling the story, it would have a more dramatic detailed account of the incident; however, since the speaker is dead, he doesn t get too worked up recounting the graphic events that led to his demise. (500 words) Answer 1 To understand how Samsung achieved global competitive advantage we first need to understand what do we mean by Strategy ? At the business unit level, strategy is a set of management decisions concerning which customers to target and what to offer them. (European Business Forum, 2007)1 Strategy is a concept that focuses on long term objectives of a firm keeping in view the changes that take place in the business environment and the possible implications that it has on the firm. In a similar manner Samsung also came out with a variety of convergence products which gave the firm an extra boost of competitive edge. For instance, Samsung launched 5 and 7 mega pixel camera phones in 2005 along with a 10 mega pixel camera in 2005. Beethoven s Piano Concerto No.5 Emperor is a three part traditional concerto, an Allegro, Adagio, and the Rondo. This concerto was named Emperor because of the powerful themes and heroic note of the composition (www.all about beethoven.com/concerto5.html). The opening of the concerto brings a main theme introduced by a solo piano with the full orchestra providing a dramatic presence of several chords. The piano flourishes grow in length until reaching a cadenza after the third time. The full orchestra joins in and carries the theme into the full exposition. The theme is bold with a pleasant interjection of a second subject that seems to tiptoe through the movement. The orchestra stays in the tonic key as the piano modulates and reaches a wide variety of tones as the scales are worked. The development of the movement effectively flips the lead. When we are selecting the people who will join our workforce, picking the best workers is inherent to this responsibility. Abstract This topic brief is going to look at performance pay and if this type of program can be used to increase student achievement and increase teacher accountability with maintaining a positive culture. This is currently a hot topic in many states and there are states that are looking to adopt this program and some states are dropping it. In some schools this type of program has proven to raise student achievement, but people argue that although these schools have had success, there is little evidence that shows that the results are sustainable for long term success. Surgical Considerations For Implant Placement Nadia Rhebi, nar344@nyu.edu, 201 496 491412/7/14 3:16 PM Indications and Surgical Considerations for Implant Placement in Maxillary Incisive Canal a Case Series Rhebi, Nadia; Ochoa Durand, Daniel; Suzuki, Takanori; Cho, Sang Choon; Froum, Stuart Introduction Implant surgery in the edentulous premaxilla is often challenging because of esthetic, phonetic and biomechanical considerations. In the maxilla, resorption following tooth extraction occurs mainly within the first 3 12 months post operatively (1). Bone resorption following tooth loss occurs in both a lingual and apical direction, resulting in an edentulous maxilla that is narrower with a loss of vertical height. This resorption is responsible for the edge to edge or reverses occlusal relation of the residual crests that is often observed in patients with completely edentulous maxillae (2). At times, ridge resorption in the maxilla is so severe that is necessary to augment the bone in order to place an implant. In some cases, conventional ridge augmentation cannot build enough bone to place implants, especially in fully edentulous cases. A number of bone augmentation methods have been developed specifically for implant placement in the severely resorbed maxilla. These include split ridge augmentation (3), distraction osteogenesis (4), ridge augmentation using guided bone regeneration with various kinds of graft materials, and sinus augmentation (5). • 52. Renaissance Research Paper The Renaissance, a time defined as the rebirth of classical ideals, occurred in Italy between 1350 and 1600. Spreading quickly throughout Europe, with the innovation of the printing press, it caused rippling effects. The Renaissance ultimately altered the aged education of theology from the Dark Ages and renewed it with studies of more ancient, classic works. Classic art and literature grew extremely popular, contrasting the lack of interest in them before. Many artists became prominent advocates for the revival of the ideals of the classical past. The artists, using their masterpieces, tremendously determined how modern historians view the era.
