Ratification of Constitution Essay
The Constitution has been operative since 1789 after the ratification of nine states (American Vision
and Values, Page 52). Today many question the relevancy of a document 222 years old to our society.
The Founders created a governmental framework, defining three branches and giving powers to the
government and others to the states. It also guarantees the rights of the people. It took two and one
half years for the 13 colonies to ratify the Constitution. This ratification period was one of great debate
and produced a series of essays complied into The Federalist. Authored by John Hamilton, James
Madison and John Jay during the ratification debate in New York, they tried to get public support for
the Constitution. Thus began the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To further strengthen the rights of the people, The Bill of Rights was ratified on December 15, 1791.
With only the first ten amendments, it is no accident that two amendments, 9 and 10, specifically
define the Constitutions purpose to protect rights, given to the government from the people; and the
powers of the government are only those delegated to it by the Constitution on behalf of the people
(Spalding, Page 145). Madison in Federalist No. 10 (Page 131) also supports the view of the Framers
to have great and aggregate interests being referred to the national, the local and particular to the State
legislatures . Madison expounds further in Federalist No. 39 (Page 135) about the constitutional limits
of government to certain enumerated objects only, and the states being delegated the remaining objects
. Federalism was created in the Constitution and while it seems a difficult concept U.S. Attorney
General, Edwin Meese s definition is very simply put institution design was to divide sovereignty
between two different levels of political entities, the nation and the states . (American Vision and

Crockett, Pierce and Cleveland vetoing or rebutting congressional bills

Air Canada s Rewards Program
Air Canada says it is will launch its own rewards program in 2020 and cut ties with Aeroplan air miles
in a move that sent the airline s shares to a 10 year high.
The share price of Aeroplan owner Aimia Inc., meanwhile, plummeted by more than 50 per cent on
Thursday.
Aeroplan air miles will not be transferable to its new program, but Air Canada it will accept Aeroplan
points after June, 2020, with pricing competitive with other third party rewards programs.
Air Canada said operating its own program will boost its financial performance while allowing it to
offer customers better value.
Air Canada launched Aeroplan in 1984, spun it off in 2002 and in 2008 severed financial ties with the
company.
Aimia said on Wednesday recent talks with Air Canada indicated the carrier would not renew the
agreement in 2020.

Analysts said Air Canada s move has significant implications for Canadian Imperial Bank of
Commerce and Toronto Dominion Bank, which offer co branded Aeroplan credit cards.
A big question most investors will have is if this announcement implies gradual erosion of a
significant cards portfolio for each bank over the next three years, said Gabriel Dechaine, a stock
analyst with National Bank Financial, predicting Air Canada s move will touch off a new round of
competition among the banks for credit card customers.
With Air Canada launching its own loyalty program, CIBC and TD Aeroplan customers appear
poachable by other banks, Mr. Dechaine said.
In a statement, TD said its Aeroplan credit card program will operate as usual, and it does not expect a
material change to its profit when the partnership expires in 2020.
But he said questions remain over transition costs and how Air Canada arrived at the 15 year, $2
billion forecast for the program s net present

Compare And Contrast The Government Of The People And...
The people of America and their government each owe their commitment to obey certain obligations
to each other. Since each component of the nation must work together in order for it to function
properly, the people and those governing them each have essential duties they must obey to sustain an
efficiently operating country. The government of the people, by the people, for the people. (Lincoln)
both serves the people and is served by the people.
The government is responsible for serving and representing its people. Because the people of today
generally understand that no human being is born superior or inferior to any other, the government
must promote equal opportunity and rights for all. It is commonly agreed that all men and women

ignorance and want
Set up against the rampant industrialization of the 18th century, Charles Dickens classic novella A
Christmas Carol endorses the notion that all people have a responsibility to ensure the safety and
welfare of every member of society. By taking his seemingly irredeemable protagonist Ebenezer
Scrooge on an other worldly journey. Dickens intends to convey to the complacent classes of the age,
the necessity of various traits that are essential in life, such as the responsibility for those whom are
less fortunate and other vital traits such as charity, generosity and simply caring for others. Dickens
warns the reader of the consequences that will follow if these lessons are not taken into consideration.

Lion Adaptations
Lions are really interesting animals they re really interesting because of its habitat it s adaptations and
the diet. Their environment has a lot of water and trees they live under the trees they are usually near a
cliff they keep the cups in a cave that has a lot of rocks. They live near the territory of hippos and
some times they meet and it does not end well! They will charge at lions and the lions run away the
lions know that he can t take on a hippo but as a pack maybe because hippos jaws can crush a lion s
skull? They hunt around the savannah. The savannah has long brown grass so the lions camouflaj in
with the grass. So that s the habitat of a lions thats what its does in its place.
The lions eats when it wants to and when the cups want to eat. So they will be 30 meters away from
the target. They eat gazelles, zebras, buffalo, and giraffes if they can manage to kill it. They only eat
meat no vegetables and sometimes they kill each other for food. When they hunt they usually do it as
a pack. So that s what they eat and that s their diet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cultural And Linguistic Boundaries And Influence
Survey design can raise issues that can traverse the cultural and linguistic boundaries and influence the
survey questions selection and procedure. These issues can become more pressing and critical
especially when surveys are conducted in support of vital entities such as government policies,
program evaluations, human rights investigations and government policies. Survey accommodation to
certain cultures and languages is an issue of importance and significance. There are logical reasons for
these issues as survey participants can interpret things and respond differently according to the
question order effects, cultural and language background. Also, the participants` understanding of the
survey construction, intention, data usage and assurance of their information, can influence the
designer`s approach of questions construction and organization (Blair Piccinino, 2005). The previous
literature reviews shed the light on several aspects such as the survey design implications. The
importance of the survey context becomes apparent when the researchers consider the situations where
cultural and linguistic factors are involved. These factors can influence the design due to several
reasons, Some researchers design the surveys from scratch for the purpose of using it in cultures and
language settings, which are not their own. Language consideration is characteristic features of
cognitive socialized skills that influence survey participants. This can result in social

The Impacts of Child Sexual Abuse
Child Sexual Abuse Introduction Child abuse has currently become a major societal issue because of
its high predominance and the devastating impacts victims. Children who have been sexually
mishandled frequently show depressive symptomatology, elevated anxiety, school problems, anger,
sleep difficulties, inappropriate sexual behaviors, social withdrawal and nightmares. Physiological
side effects like migraines and stomachaches might be part of the sequelae of child sexual abuse
(Smith, 2008). For a percentage of victimized children, these gushing and behavioral side effects
continue to show themselves for a couple of years. In different expressions, trauma identified
aggravation ought not to be rejected as something that is fleeting and clinically immaterial. Numerous
studies affirm that a huge extent of sexually abused children meet indicative criteria for PTSD when
assessed clinically. Assessment and medication systems are crucial to manage these youngsters and
their families effectively. From a cognitive behavioral perspective and directing variables, we
specifically conduct a review of child sexual abuse (Hudson, 2009). Embracing a cognitive behavioral
viewpoint, we accept this is a comprehensive analysis to be conducted on sexually mishandled
children. Sexually abused children might show symptoms, which reflect the specifics of their misuse
and how they cope with it. Suspicion is elevated when such a child gives some pointers especially
when there is a mixture of

The Idea Of Freedom From Fear
Article two of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights lists freedom from fear as a
fundamental human right. Freedom is the power or right to act, speak or think independently without
hindrance or restraint. Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by impending danger or evil. I do not
believe that the idea of freedom from fear has changed in the last seventy years, fear is a basic survival
mechanism and although its form may change, it will always be present in one form or another,
When Franklin Delano Roosevelt presented his inaugural address in 1941 the United States was in the
midst of a great economic depression and although the United States had not yet joined the war, the
world was at war. He made a serious speech trying to comfort and bolster the people in their times of
hardship and despair. Freedom from fear was the fourth freedom that he spoke about, defining it as a
world wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will
be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor. He aimed to create
world peace maintaining that wars were driven by fear and misunderstandings. His speech ou lined the

than Roosevelts and refers to more global issues, in a global world, whereas Roosevelt s makes
repeated references to freedom in various forms and has become known as the four freedom s speech.
In retrospect freedom from fear has not altered, we as a nation are more aware of it because of the
increased media coverage that global issues get today. There is always a desire to be free from fear,
but fear will always exist in our lives in one form or

A Beautiful Love Story Essay
She stands at 5 6 tall; she has pretty blonde hair, with the most beautiful green eyes you will ever see!
Her smile, her smile still gives me butterflies in the pit of my stomach. She walks with such grace, and
she is not afraid to show or share her love for Christ! She does so much to make sure that I am more
than satisfied. She is an amazing mother to our beautiful 4 year old daughter. As you might have
figured out, that woman, she is my wife Amanda! I never thought we would be together; 4.5 years
later, we have a beautiful love story. Prior to meeting my wife, we had a mutual friend named
Whitney. Whitney showed Amanda a picture of me in an attempt to set us up on a date; Amanda
thought I was cute, however, she was afraid to reach out to me. I am not sure why, because, as far I am
concerned, she is the real catch. About one week later, Whitney told me that Amanda thought I was
cute, so naturally, my confidence just sky rockets! I felt good; I reached out to her, and gave her my
phone number. We texted back and forth a few times, but it only lasted for about one week. We both
just let time go by, and lost contact with each other. Then we reconnected, and the same exact thing
happened about a week later, we just up and quit talking again. We never quit talking because of an
argument or anything; we had really good conversations, we just would literally not text each other
after the last conversation ended. In Cleveland, TN we have a park called The Greenway. It is a

The Westward Spread of Inca and Egyptian Culture Essay
The Westward Spread of Inca and Egyptian Culture The second half of the twentieth century has seen
many changes in theories concerning the mode of colonization of the islands of Micronesia, and the
rise of the Inca Empire, with it s striking similarities to Egypt. In the past, it has been suggested that
Asians had worked their way through the Pacific, over a period of thousands of years. It was believed
that each island group had formed independently, and that the residents, while they were of the same
race, had totally different cultures. Since the 1940 s, however, these views have been changing. It is
now accepted by many scholars that early Egyptians sailed as far west as South America, in their huge

appearing to the local Indians who at the time were ignorant of sun worship, architecture, and
agriculture (Ra 30). These reed boats were the same size and specification of the boats used by
Egyptians, and the people who crewed them began, among other things, building pyramids and
statues, many of which still stand throughout Central and South America (Ra 3). In fact, the most
concrete piece of evidence linking the Egyptians and early Americans is a small stone statue,
discovered in Mexico, bearing features that are decidedly similar to those of Egyptian sculpture. The
statue was carbon dated 800 BC (Begley, et al 28), long before Europeans were said to have contacted
Central and South Americans. The Aztecs and Mayas of Central America also provide evidence of
Egyptian contact. The starting date of the Maya calendar is 12, 3113 BC. This is in the middle of the
first dynasty of the Pharaohs. If these Indians had already been in the Western Hemisphere for 15,000
years, why was it only after the Egyptians started using calendars that they did, and used such similar
methods. Mayan and Aztec texts also state that they became civilized only after a man, claiming
descent from the sun arrived from the Gulf of Mexico, with a complement of astronomers, architects
and priests. The Aztecs called the man/god Quetzalcoatl, and the Mayans called him Kukulkan. Both

Language And Its Effects On The Formation Of Relative Clauses
INTRODUCTION
Kiswahili is one of the best documented and most studied African languages and much work has been
done in analyzing various aspects of the language. However, one area which has thus far been not
enough explored is that of the syntactic elements of the relative clause. To this end, the paper will
focus on by providing a detailed (though not exhaustive) analysis of relative clauses without
attempting to grapple with morphology. This is done deliberately so that time is not wasted on
restating too much previous research as morphology in Kiswahili is already a well researched area.
Moreover, Swahili syntax is deceptively simple and can cause one to imagine that it is of no
importance. In a language as highly agglutinative as Swahili, it seems that morphology is all that is
needed to appreciate the language, however, syntax, as will be shown, does have some powerful
implications in the formation of relative clauses.
The morphosyntactic glosses provided will follow the Leipzig glossing convention throughout. Given
the nature of this research, original data has not been collected, as opposed to the previous study of the
NP structure, and all of the examples have been taken from secondary sources namely: Zwart (1997),
Lippss (2011), and Ngonyani (2001).
Before dealing with relative clause syntax, outlining a few general features of Kiswahili and having an
idea of what a simple sentence can be in Kiswahili seems to be useful.
The basic declarative sentence structure in

How Does Janie Begin Her Narrative With The Pear Tree
Chapters 1 5
1. Consider how Janie s point of view affects the way this story is told. Why does she begin her
narrative with the pear tree? How is Janie s growth reflected in the way the story is told?
Janie seems to be a reliable, third person omniscient narrator, telling her story in the frame of telling
the story to her friend Pheobe. She begins her narrative as it represents her life with its stages and
branching paths. As the pear tree progress in growth, so does Janie. Janie also uses the tree to idealize
her life. One very clear example is the blossoming pear tree which is pollinated by a bee. This is Janie
s idea of the ultimate loving union, which she strives to find through three marriages.

Chapters 11 15
1. Reflect upon Janie s new life with Tea Cake. Why does her soul [crawl] out from its hiding place ?
Joe forces Janie to wear a head rag when in public, and Joe s jealously makes Janie bind her hair,
constraining Janie s femininity and stifling her identity. In an attempt to keep Janie all to himself, he
crushes her and shatters her image of him. When Joe dies, Janie wastes little time in burning all of the
head rags she owns. The head rag represents the constraints imposed on women by men in power.
With Tea Cake, she can express herself completely and is not suffocated.
Chapters 16 20
1. Why did you think Hurston chose her title? If you were required to change it, what title would you
choose? What themes does your title suggest?
Hurston explores personal independence and not following what others tell you your future holds, but
instead following God. Janie wants to do that and succeeds. She rejects other peoples ideas of what

Assessment of the SCADA/Stuxnet Worm on U.S. and Global Infrastructures
The rapid proliferation of malware and sophisticated computer viruses capable of electronically
interrupting and dismantling nuclear sites, key elements of infrastructure to the Programmable Logic
Controller device level while learning or accumulating knowledge at the same time is becoming more
pervasive. The well known Stuxnet worm, which experts theorize was originally funded and supported
technologically by one or more nations to attack Iran s Bushehr reactor (Greengard, 2010) is one of
the most strategically lethal cyberweapons in existence today. What makes the Stuxnet worm so lethal
is its ability to traverse and navigate Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks,
targeting specific devices and programmable controllers down to the manufacturer and operational
block level (Network Security, 2010). The Stuxnet worm is widely believed to be designed to quickly
navigate the Microsoft based platform of the Iranian Bushehr reactor and disable it from operating, as
this nation is widely believed to be using the reactor to produce uranium for their weapons program
(Network Security, 2010). The stealth like nature and speed of the Stuxnet worm has also been
problematic to catch even in controlled SCADA based infrastructure systems. The level of
sophistication of this threat is at a level not seen before by many organizations and national security
agencies (Greengard, 2010). The intent of

High school is all about having good grades and making sure that all the sporting teams make it to
state. Highs school sports have been around since the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Since
then, students, teachers, and other parts of the community have made sports a priority over academics.
Some parents, administrators, and even teachers are wanting to get high school sports taken away.
They say it takes up too much time, cost too much money, and too dangerous. Even though these
things may be true, there are plenty of alternatives to make sure that high school athletes can live their

Everything in the world cost money, but everyone makes sure that what they enjoy doing gets the
most priority of money spent towards it. The average cost of a high school sport per athlete is on
average $400 (Granata). This does not include any extra sporting gear for the athlete, hotel money,
traveling out of town, or anything else that is not base price. Many parents and other sport spectators
use money as a reason that sports should be taken out of high school because they see it as too
expensive for just a little bit of fame. There has been a tremendous amount of solutions for funding
high school sports. Many coaches around the entire country have come up with ways to start
fundraising to make sure that their sport does not get cut because of funding. A wrestling coach started
a program where the community could rent a wrestler and the wrestling team would get the benefits,
and a football coach at Wilsonville came up with a fundraiser chicken and bean bowl which would
generate $7,000 in donations and raffles (Daschel). There are many coaches that have gone through
the extreme to get money for their sport which shows that there are ways to fund any sport. Most
sports are very expensive, but it should not mean that a high school student s dream should be taken

Analysis Of The Book Of Cannibals
History: Whose Story Is It?
Interactions between people are often evaluated in terms of lands gained, lives lost, and valor earned,
but there is an arguably more powerful spoil of war that is rarely discussed: the right to write the story.
The victorious party gets to tell the tale, and indubitably the defeated are portrayed extremely
negatively if at all. Consider the many extant ancient Spanish texts compared to the lack of
decipherable Mayan texts: as part of their victory over the Mayans, the Spanish burned the Yucatan
almanacs. Cultural genocide of this sort is not rare by any means; imperialism leaves a trail of extinct
and dying cultures in its wake. The cannibalistic metaphor in Montaigne s Of Cannibals as well as the
essay itself illustrate how history is shaped by dominant narratives, made even more evident in King s
discussion of attitudes towards Native Americans in The Inconvenient Indian: A Curious Account of
Native People in North America.
Montaigne s description of natives consuming the defeated is analogous to European culture
displacing native culture. Just as the prisoner of war sang that part of him is his captor s own fathers
and grandfathers that he has previously consumed, the European domination of native culture became
another chapter in European history. The flesh the prisoner consumed, however, did not retain its
original shape. Instead, it was broken down and absorbed into his being. Similarly, the European
subsummation of Native American

Judith Butler Informative Acts And Gender Constitution...
Judith Butler, in her essay Performative Acts and Gender Constitution , claims that there is no
gendered self. As opposed to Simone de Beauvoir, who believes that sex is biologically determined
and gender is a social construct, Butler believes that sex can only be read through gender, making
them both constructs. Butler argues that the male/female binary is unstable and invalid. She states that
what is called gender identity is a performative accomplishment compelled by social sanction and
taboo (Butler 901).
Butler analyzes sex and gender through a phenomenological framework. Phenomenology is the study
of structures of consciousness as experienced from the first person point of view. Butler claims that
gender is constituted through a

Physics Of Pitching Research
Physics is the study of matter, energy, and the interaction between them. Physics is involved in so
many things, from sports to spacecraft to instruments. One of the sports physics is involved in is
softball. Newton s first law states when an object is in motion it stays in motion until acted upon by an
outside force. This is the key element in softball. When the pitcher pitches the ball it travels on the
path until the batter hits the ball. The softball travels through the air due to the seams (Bauer Westfall,
Motion of a Softball, 2010). The seams cause high and low pressure fronts while the grip determines
how the ball will rotate. Gravity, wind, air drag, velocity, spin, and Magnus are all forces acting upon
the softball when it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the pitcher pitches the softball the ball continues on the path until the batter hit the ball, thus
changing the direction and speed (Bauer Westfall, 2010). The key to getting a good hit is hitting the
ball on the sweet spot of the bat. The sweet spot is where there is the minimal vibration from the
contact with the ball. This maximizing the energy transferred and the distance the ball will travel. The
sweet spot is located about 17 centimeters from the end of the barrel (Bauer Westfall, 2010). The
batter will be able to tell when the ball has hit the sweet spot on the bat because the batters hands will
not sting. To analysis the physics of hitting a softball a person can use an equation and a free body
force diagram (see Appendix A for free body force diagram). A uniform slender rod, pivoted at the
end, represents the bat. FPx is the x factor of the force exerted on the slender rod by the fixed pivot P.
P represents the hands of the batter holding the bat and P is expected to be a frictionless pivot. FPy is
the y factor of the force applied on the slender rod by the fixed pivot P. G is the center of mass of the
slender rod. F is the force utilized on the bat by the ball when it strikes. L is the length of the slender
rod. lF is the distance from the point P to the contact point F. lG is the distance from the point P to the

The Lady s Dressing Room Essay
A Subtle Justice of the Double Standard Humans, by a way of life, are inherently disgusting creatures.
Normal bodily functions are often considered impolite and gross. Beauty is a way of life as well,
which can, at times, be a little unpolished. In The Lady s Dressing Room, the male character and, at
protagonist at first glance, Strephon, seems to go on a vile adventure because of his curiosity and
blinding adoration for his lover, Celia. His blinding adoration became glaring disgust as his adventure
through Celia s dressing room continued. Though at first the poem seemed misogynistic, Swift did not
criticize just women, but people in general. He mocked women and their seemingly revolting task of
beautification, as well as men for their curiosity and false, implausible standards for women and
beauty. My first opinion of The Lady s Dressing Room was that the ... Show more content on

Strephon now is less concerned with her beauty and far more disturbed about how dirty she is
otherwise. Strephon creates a double standard that by doing things like sweating, cleaning her teeth,
and using products in her hair, Celia falls victim to. The evidence supporting Swift criticizing women
is plentiful and obvious. Swift mocking men in The Lady s Dressing Room, is less obvious. While
Strephon searches the room, the reader, at first, is led to believe that Celia (and women in general) are
the main targets of the poem. While they may be targeted, it eventually appears that women may not
have been the only muse for Swift s poem. Men, especially those who place women on pedestals and
compare them to goddesses, are destined to be disappointed once they realize that women are not
goddesses, but, in fact, people. Strephon committing this offense is visible in the second couplet of the
first paragraph: The goddess from her chamber issues, /Arrayed in lace, brocades and tissues (3 4).

Misinterpretation Of Law
Representing oneself as a lawyer in court is known as self representation or self litigation. This
practice is not advised as it can lead to more problems than advantages for the accused. Disadvantages
may include unfair treatment in the court of law, misunderstanding due to minimal or no legal
background, and a greater possibility that the court system will suffer in the process. It is important to
be aware that most individuals who decide to participate in this practice do this out of great
desperation and lack of money (Grant, 2015). This creates panic and uneasiness which reflects how
they portray themselves in the courtroom. For this reason, advocating should be strictly done by
lawyers. According to the Ottawa Citizen, the accused may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is greatly due to the fact that this is cost free for the accused. This may seem like an advantage at
first, but in the end it is definitely not. When litigants choose to represent themselves in the court of
law they are given a great amount of responsibility. They are expected to manage their time wisely, so
that they have enough time to understand the law, interpret it, and organize it into an effective and
efficient way that fits their case (Feldstein, 2016, p.9). All legal documents and important information
relevant to the case must be brought forth in order to achieve the desired outcome. If they do not
understand the material, bring insignificant information and evidence to court then this becomes an
enormous disadvantage to them and to the entire court process. In regards to the court process, there is
a large amount of money that is distributed between court clerks, court reporters, judges, and
courtrooms in general (Makin, 2012). Thus, if self representatives do not come prepared to court, this
wastes a lot of time and money for everyone involved. This practice creates an immense amount of
tension that would not happen if a lawyer was in charge. Self litigation places a great burden on not
only the court system,

Energy Resources And Nonrenewable Resources
Despite only being around for around two hundred thousand years, humanity has accomplished many
great tasks. Humans have been able to conquer most of the land on Earth. They have been able to find
ways to travel across huge landscapes in a matter of hours. They have developed ways to grow and
harvest their own food through agriculture. Humans even were able to send people into space. Despite
these accomplishments, they have all come at a great cost. Humans had to deforest many areas in
order to be able to live in those places. Almost all of the modern transportation relies on the
nonrenewable resource that is fossil fuels. As the population has grown, bigger farms were made that
consume loads of water. Due to these costs, the greatest threat to human sustainability is our reliance
on nonrenewable energy and resources. In order to shift from this path, humanity must continue to
move away from nonrenewable energy and develop renewable energy, and convince businesses that
this path is profitable. In the current system, the greatest threat to the survival of humanity is the over
reliance on nonrenewable energy resources. What generally comes to mind with nonrenewable
resources is fossil fuels, however trees and water can also be applied in this situation. When the topic
is about deforestation, some would argue that trees can grow back making them a renewable resource.
However, at the rate people are cutting them, the trees do not have enough time to grow back.

Biomedical Model Vs Biopsychosocial Model
The biopsychosocial model and the biomedical model are long standing theories that describe how an
individual s mental state affects their physical health. The biomedical model has been used in Western
medicine for a longer time compared to the biopsychosocial model. However, the biomedical model
health in a fashion that separates physical health and mental health. This model says that the two do
not interact with each other in any way that will affect illnesses. The biopsychosocial model connects
physical and mental health saying that they do have an effect on each other. Poor physical health can
lead to poor mental health, and vice versa. This paper will describe what each of the models are, how
they are used in today s medicine field, as well as compare and contrast the models to each other. The

The biopsychosocial model has become more accepted in recent years as physicians and psychologists
have discovered how environmental factors influence health. While both are scientific models, the
biomedical model is more focused on developing new medicines and cures to treat illnesses while the
biopsychosocial focuses on better ways to properly diagnose patients (Engel, 1980). In this way, the
models interact with each other. The biomedical model will discover the biological issues that can be
cured, which allows the bipsychosocial model to properly diagnose individuals and give them the
correct treatments. While the biomedical model and the biopsychosocial model have their differences,
they are both accepted by today s society. The biomedical model does not include factors other than
biological ones, while the biopsychosocial model does include them. They both involve science, but
the biomedical model is more treatment based, and the biopsychosocial model is based on diagnosing
patients. Physicians and psychologists may use both models to properly diagnose their patients and

Crime Is The Strongest Factor Of Criminology
Criminal violations are a major issue in today s society; obviously there will be wrongdoings whether
one wants to believe it or not. In any case, does that imply that individuals are all bound to perpetrate
wrongdoings in the event that they are related to a criminal, in someway? Although there continues to
be a multitude of beings that believe crime is biologically determined, no human s are exactly alike in
decisions; Hence criminal behaviors are not biologically determined. By recognizing that human
behavior is influenced by many factors, by refuting counterarguments that the so called root of the
crime is the biological mindset as a child one will discover this theory will inevitably fall short. By

Due to this, human s are not born greedy entrepreneurs just like how one will not be born a disgraceful
sinner. One is not born to commit white collar crimes or to commit murder. Nevertheless, the
environment may influence a murderer, yet this all revolves around free will not genetics. There is no
doubt that insidiousness develops from the non appearance of sympathy as a mere child. Biology
conducts the biological qualities that a tyke needs to become a killer . However, there is a tremendous
contrast between the way someone is raised and their biological qualities. The saying, like father, like
son, or like mother, like daughter (Monk pg 16) according to experts means that, criminal traits must
be genetic since so many criminals have relatives who are also criminals (Monk pg 16). Somewhere
along the lines in families one has relatives who have done wrongdoings whether it be something
detestable or something small, so the explanation of criminals being genetic is absolutely obscure.
Experts also argue that wrongdoers, attribute biologically flawed genes, physiological deficiencies,
and other inherited defects (Monk pg 16). All intellects inherent deficiencies, yet beings declare young

Video games have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Video games require
players to manipulate images on a screen. In general, those that play video games experience
improvements in hand eye coordination. This is logical, considering the quick movements one must
use to complete a video game. Video games also require the player to perform mental processes
similar to those the player would perform in the real world. With this in mind, it is possible that certain
video games can improve mental processes that are exercised within the virtual world. Studies have

As stated in the study video gamers outperformed non gamers in the dual task situation ts(18) 3.205,

Interesting enough, there was no significant difference in single task performance between the two
groups. While these findings seem promising, there is no way to say that the differences in dual task
and task switching performances were caused by video game play. Therefore, the investigators
decided to perform another experiment. The purpose of the experiment was to see if action video
games are responsible for the difference in performance on these tests. The researchers picked two
video games for the experiment: Medal of Honor and Tetris. Medal of Honor is an action video game
and Tetris is a puzzle game. It was hypothesized that playing Medal of Honor would create
improvements in the dual task and task switching tests while Tetris would not create an improvement.
In the between subjects experiment, 32 college students were randomly separated into three groups, 10
in the Medal of Honors group, 10 in the Tetris group, and 12 in the control group, whom were not
exposed to any video games. The experiment consisted of a pretest, conditioning trials, and a posttest.
During the pretest, all three groups were took the dual task and the task switching tests. After the tests,
the two experimental groups practiced their respective video games in 15 one hour sessions over four
weeks. The control group did not practice either video game. Finally, the three groups retook the two
tests, and the difference in performance was found. The independent variable of the experiment was

choose this character because they are really good actors. Even do the actors are good the movie is
bad. The movie is bad because is supposed to be about aliens, but it doesn t show them very much.
Also because the end has nothing to do with the beginning. So this movie is just terrible because is
terrible.
I don t know why anyone should see this movie. I think this because it has nothing to do about aliens.
I said this because is not actually what I expected. I say this because I expected action or a war, but
that didn t happen. Also because it didn t show the aliens. In my opinion is also very boring because it
doesn t gets the attention of the viewers. It doesn t get the attention of the viewers because it doesn t
get into the interesting part. So this is a horrible movie.
In my opinion I think no one would like this movie because is really bad. The people that like aliens
would not like this movie because it has nothing to do with them. The rating of this movie is PG 13. In
my opinion I don t think why this movie it rated PG 13 because is not even scary. I also think this
movie is really boring like I said before. My final review grade is **/***** because is not that good.

Frida Kahlo Biography Essay
Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo did not originally aspire to become a painter. Her goal in life was to become a doctor but
a tragic bus accident at 18 left her physically and mentally scarred for life. During her months of
recovery, Frida began to take painting seriously, to combat the boredom and pain, as she felt that she
still had enough energy to do something other than study to become a doctor and without giving it any
particular thought she started painting. This was the beginning of a life long career. Part from art
classes in high school and looking at a few books from her fathers collection, Frida had received no
formal training in the arts. As she developed her artistic skills, she created her own unique styles,
which was heavily influenced by a number of things.

A characteristic that Frida took from the 19th century Mexican Portraits is the inscribed banderole

The Vanishing Hitchhiker Essay
The Tale of the Vanishing Hitchhiker The legend of the Vanishing Hitchhiker has been evolving over

the same. A man picks up a young woman hitchhiking and when he turns to bid his unusual hitchhiker
goodbye he discovers that she has mysteriously disappeared from the car. He later learns that his
mysterious passenger had died several years earlier ( The Vanishing Hitchhiker ). Even though some

All they have to study is the accounts of others. The appeal of vanishing hitchhiker lies in the nature
of the encounter an interaction with a ghost that occurs not because the main character went looking
for the supernatural, but because it came to him. Such tales underscore the belief that representatives
from the spirit world can be encountered at any time and by anyone. Adding to the horror factor is the
specter s passing for a living person. That the driver does not recognize it as a ghost during their time
together makes it all that more easy to believe we won t recognize a ghost when we meet one, either. (

The Discovery Of The Earth s Magnetic Field
The Earth s magnetic field
The discovery of the Earth s magnetic field Over 2000 years ago, the Chinese discovered that
lodestone, a naturally magnetised iron ore, would align itself in a north south direction. Hundreds of
years later, they discovered that their compasses didn t point true north and in fact that this position
changed with time. The compass was first used for navigation in the 11th 12th century, only arriving
in Europe towards the end of this period. Then, in 1600, William Gilbert (Figure 1.1) published De
Magnete, Magnetisque Corporibus, et de Magno Magnete Tellue (On the Magnet and Magnetic
Bodies, and on the Great Magnet the Earth). He concluded that the Earth itself was magnetic with a
centre of iron, and this is why a compass would point north. Figure 1.1 William Gilbert (1544 1603) ,
author of De Magnete, the first printed book written by an academically trained scholar based almost
entirely on actual observation and experiment .
The structure of the Earth s Magnetic Field
The Earth s magnetic field can in fact be closely approximated by a magnetic dipole at its centre, tilted
by 11˚ to the Earth s rotational axis, Figure 1.2. The south pole of this magnetic dipole actually points
northwards such that the north pole on a compass will point towards northwards, and more precisely,
to the Earth s magnetic north pole. The magnetic field strength decreases from the poles towards the
equator. Currently the field is 56 ”T at the magnetic north

Compare And Contrast Sumer And Babylon
Impact of Fertile Cresent Cultures
Sumer and Babylon
Both, the people that belonged to Sumer(Sumerians) and Babylon (Babylonians) were part of the
early/ancient Mesopotamian civilizations; however since Sumer was the first civilization on record in
Mesopotamia and started off much more early than the Babylonian civilization, it couldn t have
adapted anything that the Babylonian civilization created. However the other way around.
Babylonians did adapt some things about the Sumerians and had some similarities in their culture, but
they still stayed original in their way.

came and invaded the region.
A similar thing happened to the Babylon empire, it was invaded/conquered by the Kassites in 1595,
staying in power for 400 years but then got overcome by the Assyrians. The Babylon Empire, Neo

The Plan Of The Anaconda Plan
The anaconda plan
At the beginning of the war the Union thought it would be an easy, quick war. The Union leaders at
this time had no actual plan for the war. General Scott saw this and came up with the Anaconda plan.
Scott considered the war a strategy game, and would attack and penetrate the enemy s forces without
destroying all of their troops; focusing mainly on victory. At the beginning of the war Scott, unlike
others, thought that the war would be over in more than two years. The war ended in four years. The
term Anaconda plan came from Northern press trying to explain Scotts plan. Many people thought that
Scotts plan was too passive and difficult. The Union s effort in the civil war increased greatly on April
19, 1861. At this point Abraham Lincoln created a naval blockade, a system of ships that stops all
imports and exports, on the Confederate coastline. This blockade stretched from the Rio Grande to the
Chesapeake Bay. At this time Lincoln s argument was that the Confederacy had no right to secede.
Creating this blockade allowed the National warships to attack privateers. Privateers are privately
owned and run warships. These ships were used to take the Union s trade ships. Getting rid of the
privateers meant that the Union could transport goods easier. Scott s anaconda plan needed the Union
s army and navy to surround the Confederacy. After encompassing the Confederacy the army and
navy would tighten in, and effectively strangle the South. This contained two

Example Of Discourse Community
INTRODUCTION: Finding people who share common interests and enjoy the same activities as
yourself can often be difficult to find, but is necessary to have. Especially during college, a time where
you are receiving your independence, but unsure of what that truly means, feeling lonely is valid and
expected. However, college can offer many resources to aid you in these emotions, by having plenty
of discourse communities you can join, or even offering you the opportunity to create your own. As
quoted by Herzberg in The Concept of Discourse Community, the idea of a discourse community is
not well defined yet (469). Despite the vague concept John Swales offers, he further goes on to
elaborate on what six characteristics discourse communities can be identified through. A discourse
community which one of my roommates participates in is the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA).
The VSA is a cultural club for students at University of California, Davis, who identify as Vietnamese,
and want to come together with others a part of the same background. The VSA is a perfect model of a
discourse community, as it passes the checkpoints Swales provides to identify one.
METHODS: To fully understand how the Vietnamese Student Association operates and functions as a
discourse community, I interviewed a member of the club, Alyssa. Alyssa is a first year biology major
who just joined VSA a mere month and a half ago. Despite her short time participating in the club, she

Children who have been sexually mishandled frequently show depressive symptomatology, elevated anxiety, school problems, anger, sleep difficulties, inappropriate sexual behaviors, social withdrawal and nightmares. Physiological side effects like migraines and stomachaches might be part of the sequelae of child sexual abuse (Smith, 2008). For a percentage of victimized children, these gushing and behavioral side effects continue to show themselves for a couple of years. In different expressions, trauma identified aggravation ought not to be rejected as something that is fleeting and clinically immaterial. Numerous studies affirm that a huge extent of sexually abused children meet indicative criteria for PTSD when assessed clinically. Assessment and medication systems are crucial to manage these youngsters and their families effectively. From a cognitive behavioral perspective and directing variables, we specifically conduct a review of child sexual abuse (Hudson, 2009). Embracing a cognitive behavioral viewpoint, we accept this is a comprehensive analysis to be conducted on sexually mishandled children. Sexually abused children might show symptoms, which reflect the specifics of their misuse and how they cope with it. Freedom is the power or right to act, speak or think independently without hindrance or restraint. Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by impending danger or evil. I do not believe that the idea of freedom from fear has changed in the last seventy years, fear is a basic survival mechanism and although its form may change, it will always be present in one form or another, When Franklin Delano Roosevelt presented his inaugural address in 1941 the United States was in the midst of a great economic depression and although the United States had not yet joined the war, the world was at war. He made a serious speech trying to comfort and bolster the people in their times of hardship and despair. Freedom from fear was the fourth freedom that he spoke about, defining it as a world wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor. Her smile, her smile still gives me butterflies in the pit of my stomach. She walks with such grace, and she is not afraid to show or share her love for Christ! She does so much to make sure that I am more than satisfied. She is an amazing mother to our beautiful 4 year old daughter. As you might have figured out, that woman, she is my wife Amanda! I never thought we would be together; 4.5 years later, we have a beautiful love story. Prior to meeting my wife, we had a mutual friend named Whitney. Whitney showed Amanda a picture of me in an attempt to set us up on a date; Amanda thought I was cute, however, she was afraid to reach out to me. I am not sure why, because, as far I am concerned, she is the real catch. About one week later, Whitney told me that Amanda thought I was cute, so naturally, my confidence just sky rockets! I felt good; I reached out to her, and gave her my phone number. We texted back and forth a few times, but it only lasted for about one week. We both just let time go by, and lost contact with each other. Then we reconnected, and the same exact thing happened about a week later, we just up and quit talking again. The Westward Spread of Inca and Egyptian Culture Essay The Westward Spread of Inca and Egyptian Culture The second half of the twentieth century has seen many changes in theories concerning the mode of colonization of the islands of Micronesia, and the rise of the Inca Empire, with it s striking similarities to Egypt. In the past, it has been suggested that Asians had worked their way through the Pacific, over a period of thousands of years. It was believed that each island group had formed independently, and that the residents, while they were of the same race, had totally different cultures. Since the 1940 s, however, these views have been changing. It is now accepted by many scholars that early Egyptians sailed as far west as South America, in their huge ... These reed boats were the same size and specification of the boats used by Egyptians, and the people who crewed them began, among other things, building pyramids and statues, many of which still stand throughout Central and South America (Ra 3). In fact, the most concrete piece of evidence linking the Egyptians and early Americans is a small stone statue, discovered in Mexico, bearing features that are decidedly similar to those of Egyptian sculpture. The statue was carbon dated 800 BC (Begley, et al 28), long before Europeans were said to have contacted Central and South Americans. The Aztecs and Mayas of Central America also provide evidence of Egyptian contact. The starting date of the Maya calendar is 12, 3113 BC. This is in the middle of the first dynasty of the Pharaohs. If these Indians had already been in the Western Hemisphere for 15,000 years, why was it only after the Egyptians started using calendars that they did, and used such similar methods. • 13. Language And Its Effects On The Formation Of Relative Clauses INTRODUCTION Kiswahili is one of the best documented and most studied African languages and much work has been done in analyzing various aspects of the language. However, one area which has thus far been not enough explored is that of the syntactic elements of the relative clause. To this end, the paper will focus on by providing a detailed (though not exhaustive) analysis of relative clauses without attempting to grapple with morphology. This is done deliberately so that time is not wasted on restating too much previous research as morphology in Kiswahili is already a well researched area. Moreover, Swahili syntax is deceptively simple and can cause one to imagine that it is of no importance. In a language as highly agglutinative as Swahili, it seems that morphology is all that is needed to appreciate the language, however, syntax, as will be shown, does have some powerful implications in the formation of relative clauses. The morphosyntactic glosses provided will follow the Leipzig glossing convention throughout. Given the nature of this research, original data has not been collected, as opposed to the previous study of the NP structure, and all of the examples have been taken from secondary sources namely: Zwart (1997), Lippss (2011), and Ngonyani (2001). Before dealing with relative clause syntax, outlining a few general features of Kiswahili and having an idea of what a simple sentence can be in Kiswahili seems to be useful. Assessment of the SCADA/Stuxnet Worm on U.S. and Global Infrastructures The rapid proliferation of malware and sophisticated computer viruses capable of electronically interrupting and dismantling nuclear sites, key elements of infrastructure to the Programmable Logic Controller device level while learning or accumulating knowledge at the same time is becoming more pervasive. The well known Stuxnet worm, which experts theorize was originally funded and supported technologically by one or more nations to attack Iran s Bushehr reactor (Greengard, 2010) is one of the most strategically lethal cyberweapons in existence today. What makes the Stuxnet worm so lethal is its ability to traverse and navigate Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks, targeting specific devices and programmable controllers down to the manufacturer and operational block level (Network Security, 2010). The Stuxnet worm is widely believed to be designed to quickly navigate the Microsoft based platform of the Iranian Bushehr reactor and disable it from operating, as this nation is widely believed to be using the reactor to produce uranium for their weapons program (Network Security, 2010). The stealth like nature and speed of the Stuxnet worm has also been problematic to catch even in controlled SCADA based infrastructure systems. • 19. Analysis Of The Book Of Cannibals History: Whose Story Is It? Interactions between people are often evaluated in terms of lands gained, lives lost, and valor earned, but there is an arguably more powerful spoil of war that is rarely discussed: the right to write the story. The victorious party gets to tell the tale, and indubitably the defeated are portrayed extremely negatively if at all. Consider the many extant ancient Spanish texts compared to the lack of decipherable Mayan texts: as part of their victory over the Mayans, the Spanish burned the Yucatan almanacs. Cultural genocide of this sort is not rare by any means; imperialism leaves a trail of extinct and dying cultures in its wake. The cannibalistic metaphor in Montaigne s Of Cannibals as well as the essay itself illustrate how history is shaped by dominant narratives, made even more evident in King s discussion of attitudes towards Native Americans in The Inconvenient Indian: A Curious Account of Native People in North America. Montaigne s description of natives consuming the defeated is analogous to European culture displacing native culture. Just as the prisoner of war sang that part of him is his captor s own fathers and grandfathers that he has previously consumed, the European domination of native culture became another chapter in European history. The flesh the prisoner consumed, however, did not retain its original shape. Instead, it was broken down and absorbed into his being. Similarly, the European subsummation of Native American ... Butler argues that the male/female binary is unstable and invalid. She states that what is called gender identity is a performative accomplishment compelled by social sanction and taboo (Butler 901). One of the sports physics is involved in is softball. Newton s first law states when an object is in motion it stays in motion until acted upon by an outside force. This is the key element in softball. When the pitcher pitches the ball it travels on the path until the batter hits the ball. The softball travels through the air due to the seams (Bauer Westfall, Motion of a Softball, 2010). The seams cause high and low pressure fronts while the grip determines how the ball will rotate. As the pitcher pitches the softball the ball continues on the path until the batter hit the ball, thus changing the direction and speed (Bauer Westfall, 2010). The key to getting a good hit is hitting the ball on the sweet spot of the bat. The sweet spot is where there is the minimal vibration from the contact with the ball. This maximizing the energy transferred and the distance the ball will travel. The sweet spot is located about 17 centimeters from the end of the barrel (Bauer Westfall, 2010). The batter will be able to tell when the ball has hit the sweet spot on the bat because the batters hands will not sting. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated in the study video gamers outperformed non gamers in the dual task situation ts(18) 3.205, ps .01, (***). Furthermore, the gamers outperformed nongamers on the task switching therefore. Interesting enough, there was no significant difference in single task performance between the two groups. While these findings seem promising, there is no way to say that the differences in dual task and task switching performances were caused by video game play. Therefore, the investigators decided to perform another experiment. The purpose of the experiment was to see if action video games are responsible for the difference in performance on these tests. The researchers picked two video games for the experiment: Medal of Honor and Tetris. Medal of Honor is an action video game and Tetris is a puzzle game. It was hypothesized that playing Medal of Honor would create improvements in the dual task and task switching tests while Tetris would not create an improvement. In the between subjects experiment, 32 college students were randomly separated into three groups, 10 in the Medal of Honors group, 10 in the Tetris group, and 12 in the control group, whom were not exposed to any video games. The experiment consisted of a pretest, conditioning trials, and a posttest. During the pretest, all three groups were took the dual task and the task switching tests. After the tests, the two experimental groups practiced their respective video games in 15 one hour sessions over four weeks. The control group did not practice either video game. Finally, the three groups retook the two tests, and the difference in performance was found. The independent variable of the experiment was video game, with the levels being Medal of Honor, Tetris, and no game. The dependent variable was change in performance from pretest to ... The Vanishing Hitchhiker Essay The Tale of the Vanishing Hitchhiker The legend of the Vanishing Hitchhiker has been evolving over many years as every town has a slightly different tale to tell, but the gist of these tales have remained the same. A man picks up a young woman hitchhiking and when he turns to bid his unusual hitchhiker goodbye he discovers that she has mysteriously disappeared from the car. The appeal of vanishing hitchhiker lies in the nature of the encounter an interaction with a ghost that occurs not because the main character went looking for the supernatural, but because it came to him. Such tales underscore the belief that representatives from the spirit world can be encountered at any time and by anyone. Adding to the horror factor is the specter s passing for a living person. That the driver does not recognize it as a ghost during their time together makes it all that more easy to believe we won t recognize a ghost when we meet one, either. ( The Vanishing Hitchhiker ). The many recorded vanishing hitchhiker sightings all have one thing in common, the fact that it always seen by one who is not searching for the lore. • 36. The Discovery Of The Earth s Magnetic Field The Earth s magnetic field The discovery of the Earth s magnetic field Over 2000 years ago, the Chinese discovered that lodestone, a naturally magnetised iron ore, would align itself in a north south direction. Hundreds of years later, they discovered that their compasses didn t point true north and in fact that this position changed with time. The compass was first used for navigation in the 11th 12th century, only arriving in Europe towards the end of this period. Then, in 1600, William Gilbert (Figure 1.1) published De Magnete, Magnetisque Corporibus, et de Magno Magnete Tellue (On the Magnet and Magnetic Bodies, and on the Great Magnet the Earth). He concluded that the Earth itself was magnetic with a centre of iron, and this is why a compass would point north. Figure 1.1 William Gilbert (1544 1603) , author of De Magnete, the first printed book written by an academically trained scholar based almost entirely on actual observation and experiment . The structure of the Earth s Magnetic Field The Earth s magnetic field can in fact be closely approximated by a magnetic dipole at its centre, tilted by 11˚ to the Earth s rotational axis, Figure 1.2. The south pole of this magnetic dipole actually points northwards such that the north pole on a compass will point towards northwards, and more precisely, to the Earth s magnetic north pole. The magnetic field strength decreases from the poles towards the equator. Currently the field is 56 ”T at the magnetic north ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast Sumer And Babylon Impact of Fertile Cresent Cultures Sumer and Babylon Both, the people that belonged to Sumer(Sumerians) and Babylon (Babylonians) were part of the early/ancient Mesopotamian civilizations; however since Sumer was the first civilization on record in Mesopotamia and started off much more early than the Babylonian civilization, it couldn t have adapted anything that the Babylonian civilization created. However the other way around. Babylonians did adapt some things about the Sumerians and had some similarities in their culture, but they still stayed original in their way. • 40. The Plan Of The Anaconda Plan The anaconda plan At the beginning of the war the Union thought it would be an easy, quick war. The Union leaders at this time had no actual plan for the war. General Scott saw this and came up with the Anaconda plan. Scott considered the war a strategy game, and would attack and penetrate the enemy s forces without destroying all of their troops; focusing mainly on victory. At the beginning of the war Scott, unlike others, thought that the war would be over in more than two years. The war ended in four years. The term Anaconda plan came from Northern press trying to explain Scotts plan. Many people thought that Scotts plan was too passive and difficult. The Union s effort in the civil war increased greatly on April 19, 1861. At this point Abraham Lincoln created a naval blockade, a system of ships that stops all imports and exports, on the Confederate coastline. This blockade stretched from the Rio Grande to the Chesapeake Bay. At this time Lincoln s argument was that the Confederacy had no right to secede. Creating this blockade allowed the National warships to attack privateers. Privateers are privately owned and run warships. These ships were used to take the Union s trade ships. Getting rid of the privateers meant that the Union could transport goods easier. Scott s anaconda plan needed the Union s army and navy to surround the Confederacy. After encompassing the Confederacy the army and navy would tighten in, and effectively strangle the South. This contained two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Example Of Discourse Community INTRODUCTION: Finding people who share common interests and enjoy the same activities as yourself can often be difficult to find, but is necessary to have. Especially during college, a time where you are receiving your independence, but unsure of what that truly means, feeling lonely is valid and expected. However, college can offer many resources to aid you in these emotions, by having plenty of discourse communities you can join, or even offering you the opportunity to create your own. As quoted by Herzberg in The Concept of Discourse Community, the idea of a discourse community is not well defined yet (469). Despite the vague concept John Swales offers, he further goes on to elaborate on what six characteristics discourse communities can be identified through. A discourse community which one of my roommates participates in is the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA). The VSA is a cultural club for students at University of California, Davis, who identify as Vietnamese, and want to come together with others a part of the same background. The VSA is a perfect model of a discourse community, as it passes the checkpoints Swales provides to identify one. METHODS: To fully understand how the Vietnamese Student Association operates and functions as a discourse community, I interviewed a member of the club, Alyssa.
