Amtrak allows user to make reservation online and all users have to do is go to the

For the Third Quarter SSR Project I chose the book Both Sides Of Time by
Caroline B. Cooney. I settled on this fiction book not only because I ve read all
three books in Cooney s series Time Travelers Quartet, but it just so happens to be
my favorite out of all of them. This book is gripping to me because of the events
happening in the book. A hopeless romantic going back in time, involved in two love
triangles in two different centuries, then forced to leave one that she loves either

Devonny Stratton, Strat s younger sister called the police because she felt bad for
Matthew s family and wanted to know who killed the kind servant and why. Annie
and Strat still kept going on cute, cheesy dates, but never kissed. The next week, in
the library, Mr. Rowwels proposed marriage to Harriet and she accepted. She
thought that now that Ms. Lockwood had Strat s eyes only for on her, she wouldn t
have chance on marrying who she loved, which was Hiram Stratton, and thought
that marriage to someone she didn t love would be better than absolutely no
marriage at all. Mr. Rowwels turned out to be Mathew s murderer and Annie ended
up going back to her own time, in 1995. There, she tells her mother that her father is
cheating on her. Then poor Annie realizes, in the 19th century, Strat is doing the
same thing to Harriet and feels guilty, because it s her fault. So to not interfere with

If I needed to change any part of the story to make it more Hollywood style, it
would be to make some parts of the story a little more intense and dramatic. For

Comparison Of Blake s Songs Of Innocence And Songs Of...
When regarding the different options I had in comparing two of the works we
have already read this semester, my mind automatically went to William Blake s
Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. Blake s examination of the duality of
a single subject s nature lends itself perfectly to a close reading such as this. When
looking at the different options available to me in Blake s volumes, Holy
Thursday (both the Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience versions)
demonstrated this duality clearly. The subject in Holy Thursday stays the same,
however, the nature of the subject is drastically different in each poem. In both
Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience, the poem titled Holy Thursday
occurs on Holy Thursday. This was a special service at St. Paul s Cathedral in
London, which was held on the first Thursday in May. The tradition started in 1782,
and this special service was held for the poorest children in London. These children
would be brought to the church by their parish officers, serving approximately six
thousand children. Both poems focus on this procession of children to the cathedral,
describing the state of the children and the varying attitudes towards the event itself.
These varying attitudes are what divides these poems that are so similar in content

Introduction The United States is a divided country due to the injustice society and
unequal rights many African Americans still suffer through mass incarceration.
The novel, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness ,
focuses on the current problem of mass incarceration that many people are not
accepting of or pretend to be blind to. Due to the election of President Barrack
Obama, there was no longer an effort made towards the mass incarceration although
it is still occurring. Michelle Alexander, the author of the novel, believes that
Barrack Obama s presidential victory was a distraction from the severity of mass
incarceration. Michelle Alexander hopes this novel will shed light upon those who
are not aware of the problem of mass incarceration, as well as to offer support to

The epidemic regarding racism is still an ongoing issue dating back to the colonial
period when African Americans were sold to owners as cheap labor which
resulted in the beginning of slavery. African Americans were placed at the bottom
of the racial caste system which was eventually replaced by Jim Crow. Jim Crow
may have replaced the word slavery but was very similar as blacks were still being
sold, owned and suppressed. The fact that some African Americans have experienced
great success in recent years does not mean that something akin to a racial caste

Immediately, Morris cuts to the red light after Harris interview, which simply
implies a suspicion of Harris guilt. Morris starts pulling our attention from this part
to look back on Adams guilt and Harris accusation. Moving on with his effort,
Morris continues to study the details of the story by continuing to interview Adams
and Harris. The two men continue the story how they came to meet each other until
a shooting event of Wood occurred. Morris does this beginning part to study Adams
case as he believes Adams was wrongly convicted and Morris was a real murderer.
The movie keeps progressing to support Morris belief of unlawful legal
proceedings and unjust conviction. Morris recreates a series of events to prove
his belief by establishing recreations. The first recreation is Adams interrogation
that he was asked to confess to the shooting of Wood but he would not confess to
what he had not done. He says, I do not remember anything after I got back to the
motel. I was not in a car during the shooting and I did not kill anybody. However,
the police officers do not believe Adams and suspect him as a murderer because of
evidence from Harris and the surprise witnesses. They continue investigating the case,

Middle School Observation
Panther points. I read this chapter with both of my observations in mind. My
observation in North Minneapolis with Erik, at the middle school, at first seemed
like I wasn t going to learn anything. However, I think I have seen the example of
what NOT to do in a school environment. My co operating teacher along with all of
the teacher s in the middle schoolhave decided to give Panther points out as a way to
positively enforce good behavior. Eric s yellow and red card system, followed by
removal from class was used as the reinforcement of bad behavior. I directly
witnessed a kid, let s call him Marcus. On day one he was helpful in helping other
kids with projects and was given a Panther point for his awesome leadership. On
day two he even stayed after class to clean up and pushed many chairs in to
straighten up. I even commented he was so well behaved when the rest of the
students were out of control. On day three I saw a change. Marcus was told by Erik
the co operating teacher, that he should be doing these respectful and nice things
without the Panther Points awarded as Erik had given him a lot of points throughout
the days. This child turned his attention not in a good way. His behavior went from
model student back to disruptive in one twenty four hour period. Why? Toshalis

Intro Thesis Statement: Temple of Hera at Olympia is built for serving the wife of
Zeus and the Greek goddess of marriage, Hera. The size of Temple of Herais not
huge, the dimensions of the temple were 18.75 m by 50 m. It is the oldest
building in the site of Olympia, it was built about 600 BC, it is one of the oldest
temples in Greece. The Temple was destroyed by an earthquake in 4th century CE.
The first Olympic game started here at 776 BC and maintained the tradition ever
since. In modern days, people use Temple of Hera as the sacred place for lighting up

Many popular movies these days are based on world famous books and stories, like
The Veldt by Ray Bradbury. Some movies may be very similar to its story, but
usually they re quite different. This is usually caused because the movie will be too
long if they try to include all the details that the book provides. But is it completely
true? This is why I will be comparing a short story to it s short film, called The Veldt
by Ray Bradbury.
First, the characters, in this story they re five main characters, one of them being
George Hadley, the father, George is striker in the story and consistent with his
decision, and Lydia Hadley, the mother was really paranoid but became more laid
back towards the end. In the movie though they switched roles. George was not
consistent with his decisions and was very easygoing at the start of ... Show more
The plot had some major differences as well as its similarities, for example, when
Lydia was frightened by the lions and when Peter and Wendykilled their parents. The
film did follow the same storyline and had the same plot but also had some slight
differences here and there, for example ... In the story, George and Lydia found a
wallet and a scarf in the nursery, but they found a purse in the movie. The children
didn t land in the space ship and they didn t even mention the plastic carnival.
There were no whining or jumping on couch s as referenced in the story when the
kids heard the news about locking up the nursery, they just got mad and ran
towards the nursery. When the Parents were supposedly chased by lions, Lydia
wasn t crying, the story made it seem more dramatic than it appeared in the video.
As well as Peter called George George in the movie instead of Father or Dad, this
was not mentioned in the story, but it did show how he didn t really think of
George as his Dad. There were also a little foreshadowing at the end when George

Writing is a form of art, and like a painting two people are able to look at the
painting and give different interpretations of what they see, and the same is goes for
writing. The author paints the reader a picture with words they use. some artist are
better than others in the same way that some writers are better at expressing
themselves than others. An example of an author that is able to paint a picture into
the reader s mind is Judy Brady in her writing Why I Wanta Wife. She is able to
captivate the reader into her writing by sparking an interest in what she has to say
next. However, looking into her writing, the reader is easily able to see the flaws in
her words. She over uses repetition, transitions points poorly, is over stereotypical,
makes illogical claims, and is overly insensitive.
It is often said in order for a person to retain information they need to read the given
information at least three times. In Why I Want a Wife Brady definitely wants the
reader to remember her purpose, because she repeats the phrase I want a wife
twenty six times her short two page essay. Too much repetition can create a
ludicrous effect (Grammar). From the Title the reader already knows that she
wants a wife and does not need to be told another sixteen times. The purpose for
repeating may have been for added emphasis, but this repetition was interpreted as
more of poor word choice. She may have been more persuasive if she used different
ways to express the same idea

This is helpful because there is a shortage of pharmacist . Another big advantage is
for the elderly . The elderly can not always get around like they need to ; This is
