Triton s Modern Influences
Have you ever watched the little mermaid or Spongebob and wondered, Who is Triton? Most
likely, you have. These two children s cartoons are both perfect examples of Triton s modern
influence. I m Nicholas Torres and I will be speaking about Triton. Born to Poseidon and
Amphitrite, Triton was always in some way or another like his father. Triton carries a trident and
uses a conch shell as a trumpet. Not much is known about Triton s childhood. One of the few
things that is known about Triton is that he lived in a golden palace under water with his parents
and that he really enjoyed traveling to the coast of Libya, where he met his lover, Libya. He had
many siblings. Triton had about 50 half siblings. Some of them are Theseus, Orion, Belus,

The Man that Was Muhammad Ali Essay
Eleanor Roosevelt once quoted The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their
dreams. Most people look at those kinds of quotes and similar to me, laugh at it because we
realize that following your dream will lead you to a high percentage of failure in life. Famous
people and programs such as Disney channel, tell us to follow our dreams and never quit. Most of
the time, we refuse to listen by switching the channel or just turning off the TV. Although,
Muhammad Aliwas different. He challenged himself. He didn t switch the channel or refused to
hear it. Instead, he didn t give up his dream that later on rewarded him with becoming the best
boxer in the world. Unlike us, he had huge objects blocking his path in the time he... Show more

As a result, young men were being drafted to go and serve in the military. When Ali was noticed
for his fighting, political figures decided to draft him due to his useful fighting skills. Although, Ali
rejected. He rejected because he had just won his heavyweight boxing title and because he did not
want to go to war to kill people. Because of this decision, Ali s heavyweight boxing title was
taken away and he was put in a five year prison sentence. Coming out of prison was hard for Ali.
Because of his racial color, he would get rejected from places such as restaurants. A lot of people
turned him down and he wasn t allowed to fight back in the ring. But, Ali didn t give up and soon
found an opportunity that brought him to become the first person in history, to win the
heavyweight champion title three times. Muhammad Ali was not only the first person in history
to win the heavyweight champion title three times, but he was also a person who never gave up
his dream. We quit our dream jobs because there are such obstacles in our path such as expenses,
lack of education, or simply because of laziness and complicatedness but not Muhammad Ali. In
fact, he faced much bigger problems than us such as segregation and going to jail however he did
not quit. He fought through it in order to become the best boxer in the world. He never gave up his
dream in order to achieve in something he wanted to fulfill. Muhammad Ali never gave

Stanislavski Set Affects The Actor
The second part of this essay looks at how the set affects the actor. Something that is very
prevalent in almost all of the pictures we see of Stanislavski on stage is his almost cluttered
looking stage. Being a fan and believer of Naturalism his goal would be to bring the audience and
even the actors into this world he d created. Having a fully immersive set yields positive and
negative effects for the actors.
The positive for this is as I stated earlier a full sense of immersion. Should the set looks and feels
exactly as it should be then then less imagination is required from the actor. They can effortlessly
work with their surroundings and focus all energy into their character. If all of these pieces come
together the actor can receive

The Protestant Reform Movements On The European Continent...
Following the Evangelical reform movements on the European continent against the Roman
Catholic Church, England also experienced its own reform movements and reformists. During the
fifteenth century and the early sixteenth century, the English monarchy was Catholic, and thus
opposed to reform, prosecuting evangelicals as heretics. In the first half of the reign of Henry VIII,
the second Tudor monarch, this pattern continued under the administration of Cardinal Thomas
Wolsey as Lord Chancellor, and later with Sir Thomas Morein that same office (Marshall 31).
However, in 1526, Henry VIII was in love with Anne Boleyn, and the delay of Pope Clement VII to
grant him an annulment of his marriage to Katherine of Aragon set in motion the events... Show

Despite at the time reassuring Katherine, saying, if it is a daughter this time, by the grace of
God, boys will follow. We are both still young, Henry later revealed he had had his doubts that
his marriage to Katherine was valid (Weir, The Six Wives of Henry VIII 119). Sons were crucial
in achieving a peaceful succession in Henry s mind, since England had just emerged from the War
of the Roses, a civil war between the royal houses of Lancaster and York, when Henry VII, Henry
VIII s father, took the English throne in 1485.
Henry was very Catholic in his religious beliefs and well versed in Scripture, producing a work
with the aid of Richard Pace, Thomas More, and Bishop John Fisher in 1521 against Martin Luther
entitled Assertio Septem Sacramentorum adversus Martinus Lutherus (A Defense of the Seven
Sacraments against Martin Luther) which earned him the title Fidei Defensor (Defender of the
Faith) from Pope Leo X (Weir, Henry VIII: The King and His Court 231). Henry in this work takes
the Pope s authority for granted, stating that he would not wrong the Bishop of Rome so much, as
troublesomely, or carefully to dispute his Right, as if it were a matter doubtful.... For he [Luther]
cannot deny, but that all the Faithful honour and acknowledge the sacred Roman See for their

Leadership Class Analysis
Over the course of this class I have learned about the kind of leader I am as well as the kind of
leader I prefer when being the follower in a situation. Whether or not it is common I am not
sure, however I react to a different leadership style than the one I implement myself. Above I
have created my own leadership model that I feel covers all of the aspects it takes to being a
successful leader. There are three elements to being a productive leader in any given situation
and it starts with you as a person. In order to be a leader I feel that you must first understand who
you are as a person, you need to know what drives you to succeed, and what motivates you. As the
leader of an organization, business, or large group you have to be able to... Show more content on

Beginning with yourself and moving through the phases until reaching your final outcome. One
of the lectures from week two, Cunningham Skills, is a great way to begin understand yourself as
a leader. If you as a leader can embrace and understand how to implement the six skills
Cunningham believes are necessary to be a successful leader than you have the first element of
my leadership model taken care of. My absolute favorite skill Cunningham discusses is the idea
of managing symbols (Strong, 2016, Cunningham Skills), I believe the reason it sticks out so
much to me is because becoming a teacher is something I have wanted for a while now and you
have to know and understand how to conduct yourself in a manner that represents who you are
as well as who your school is. It is so important in today s society to remember how much access
others have to your personal life, whether your social media is private or not. Therefore, creating an
image for yourself is so essential and should begin long before your become a leader of a large

Tarquinia Research Paper
Large underground burial chambers hewn out of natural rock were a norm at Tarquinia. Mural
paintings adorn many of these underground tombs. Banqueting couples, servants, and musicians
celebrate the joys of the good life, and scenes of dancers occupy the flanking left and right walls. In
characteristic Etruscan fashion, the banqueters, servants, and entertainers all make exaggerated
gestures with unnaturally enlarged hands. Just like other tombs, this tomb is composed of a single
chamber with wall decorations painted in fresco. Like other tombs of the time, this tomb s ceiling
is painted in a checkered scheme of alternating colors, perhaps meant to evoke the temporary fabric
tents that were erected near the tomb for the actual celebration of the funeral banquet.... Show more

Funerary places are the most abundant archaeological evidence for the Etruscan civilization. The
elite members of Etruscan society participated in elaborate funerary rituals that varied and
changed according to both geography and time. The city of Tarquinia, one of the most powerful
and prominent Etruscan centers, is known for its painted chamber tombs. For the 2nd piece of
artwork, the Fourth Style also incorporates central panel pictures, although on a much larger scale
than in the third style and with a much wider range of themes, incorporating mythological, genre,
landscape and still life images. This piece most likely was Roman because the Romans had these

Evolution Of Eusociality Is Based Upon A Sterile Caste System
Evolution of eusociality is based upon a sterile caste system that consists of workers that
sacrifices their selfish needs to serve the needs of the queen. In eusociality society, genetic
relatedness is very important because it helps the genes of the individual to be passed on to the
next generation. Additionally, in eusociality society, individual members become integrated and
function has a group. In addition, eusocial species favor their sisters over their own offspring
because it helps to increase their indirect fitness rather than focusing on their own direct fitness
by raising their own offspring. The main reason for these females tend have a genetic relatedness
of about 0.5 to her offspring, and to her sister .75. Eusociality is also based on haplodiploidy,
which result in an unfertilized egg that develops into a male, and a fertilized egg that develop into
females. Eusociality can only occur when the relatedness and the benefit is very high. Finally,
evolution of eusociality involves division of labor, cooperativeness, and overlapping generation.

American Society And Ugandan Society
I stepped off the plane and the smell of burning trash immediately flooded my nostrils. The
pungent smell permeated the air. Driving in the absence of lane lines, crosswalks, or any sense of
organization made the eleven hour bus ride from the airport to my final destination all the more
calamitous and fearsome. However, the most shocking of all in this initial experience of a new
culture, was seeing vast amounts abandoned children. The biggest contrast between American
society and Ugandan society is the difference in the value of children. In America, parents
generally highly value their children and are willing to make sacrifices them. For children in Uganda
, the story is quite different; they are exploited, abused, and viewed as burdens. The adverse effects
of military occupation in Uganda can be traced back to the beginning of colonization. European
countries like Britain, Belgium, and France all rushed into Africaat the end of the 19th Century
trying to get their slice of Africa. Some nations were worse than others, but the two common
themes that tied African imperialism together were racism and exploitation. For decades, the
Ugandan people were under rulers that exploited them and treated them as if they could not be
trusted in society. The torn society of Uganda has been affected by years, even decades, of war
and militarized occupation. They face a corrupt government, broken economy, and execrable
poverty. Military occupation of land is a powerful tool

How Do Weapons Affect The World
There are various harmful and helpful discoveries all over the world. Though a number of these
were created to hurt instead of help, many people look to the invention before looking to the
mind of a human. For instance, drugs are used to cure people, while others treat them as an
addiction. Similarly, weapons are used either to kill or protect. Good people choose good, while
evil people make poor choices. Inventions overall improve our world; however, some people handle
them as a detriment.
The most frequently used, harmful, and dangerous weapon across the world is the Automatic
Rifle, which was created in 1887 by General Manuel Mondragon. These powerful weapons were
previously used in the military after generals discovered the horrific demolition it could cause.
Tracing all the way back to its descendants, the AK 47, the M16A1, and the M 14, these rifles are
self loading and capable of delivering fully automatic, deadly weapon fire. Consequently, this

However, he set to work again making wheel thrown vessels and modelling figures, of which, he

exhibition, and in 1945, excluding a number of stoneware figures, he exhibited three works at the

Germination of Mustard Seeds Using Fertiliser
Germination of Mustard Seeds using Fertilisers
1. Abstract
This study was done to look at the effects of fertilisers and identify which fertiliser produced the
fastest results. Four types of fertilisers were used over a four week period and the findings were
that inorganic fertilisers enhanced seed germination rates.
2. Introduction
Fertilisers are widely used in agricultural production because they contain essential compounds such
as phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium that have been depleted from most Australian soil. The
phosphorus is responsible for the development of the plants, providing healthy growth and strong
roots. Nitrogen furnishes a major component of chlorophyll where it s known for its ability to grow
green leaves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

(From left to right: Seaweed, Miracle Growth, Slow Release, No Fertiliser and Blood and Bone)
5. Discussion
Seaweed and Miracle Growth fertilisers did give the fastest results, indicating that plants treated
with inorganic fertiliser s respond quickly. As the liquefied fertilisers directly seeps into the soil
and reaches the roots, plants are able to easily absorb the nutrients that they needed for growth.
However, organic fertilisers need to break down in the soil first which may potentially take time
before reaching the roots. (2)
A pattern was identified that related the form of the fertiliser to the results obtained. Seaweed
fertiliser is a liquefied solution where the components have been mixed and dissolved before hand.
By sending the nutrients directly to the roots, it can focus on nourishing the

Introduction
The tale of the human race and our connection to the ecosystem can be viewed as an unfolding
adventure shrouded in mysterious occurrences. The impacts of the overall climatic change have
signaled danger for a long time, and it is clear that there is a global crisis facing us. One would
wonder where we are headed and if the earth will be able to sustain life in the next century. Global
warming continues to manifest itself to us every day through rapid changes occurring to the climate
system. Some of us still hide from reality and hold on to the notion that climate change is just, but

When carbon dioxide and other toxic gasses are released into the atmosphere, they become too
excessive for all the vegetation to absorb. Such conditions lead to the over accumulation of
gasses that form a layer called a greenhouse. The gasses create a greenhouse effect that prevents
any heat from escaping the earth (Taylor,881). This means that most of the heat being released
from the earth s center as well as that being absorbed from the sun is retained within the
atmosphere. The trapped heat has over time led to the rise in global temperatures which has
subsequently had adverse effects on the ecosystem. In essence, the small changes to a temperature
that have occurred on a global scale over time can lead to significant and human threatening
changes in the global weather patterns. The contemporary warmth has been exhibited by melting
ice lands and glaciers as well as increased floods and famines. Driving forces of this climatic
change Scientists attribute a huge percentage of the gas accumulation to the human activities using
fossil fuels and whose operation leads to the release of significant amounts of carbon dioxide and
other toxic gasses into the air. The rate of temperature rise since the industrial revolution shows a
significant change of 38% due to the constant emission of toxic gasses from human activity
(Lonnie, 153).

Germany s Consolidation Of Democracy
In recognition of the indicators of democratic consolidation in various countries, it is significant to
understand the features that characterize the presence of successful consolidation within a country
s government. Features such as the holding of free repeated elections, peaceful transfers of power
through elections, survival of tribulations, adherence to a rule of law, lengthy survival, and
legitimacy recognized by the populace are all characteristics of a successful consolidation of
democracy. In terms of which indicators would convincingly indicate truly successful consolidation
of democracy, it is evident that legitimacy, survival of tests and tribulations, the presence of free
consistent elections, and an adherence to a rule of law by the public are the most appropriate
characteristics that would indicate or refute veritable consolidation. Each of these democratic...

systems and the conscious choice of political elites to overcome the social divisions and mistakes
that destroyed the previous democracy forged the way towards successful consolidation. The two
prime rectifications in this new democratic system include the decreased polarization of German

Research Paper On Noam Chomsky
Introduction: Language is a prominent part of society and is crucial to the communication of news
or media to a mass amount of people. English linguistics explains why the human language operates
the way it does. This field investigates the reasoning behind sounds, words, and syntax along with
historically how language has evolved. The foremost scholar under this realm of linguistic studies
is, Noam Chomsky. Noam Chomsky s central contribution to the academic world is his
unparalleled perspective in regards to the roots of language, in other words linguistics; along with
this Chomsky greatly contributed to the availability of factual based media to all parts of the

Presentation In The Military
Presentations can be unforgettable. They cause us to envision possibilities and contemplate the
future. Unfortunately they can also be unforgettable in how they make us suffer. They can be
tedious. Both examples were apparent during my 24 year career in the military.
Bovee and Thill state, Planning oral presentations are much like planning any other business

information (p.434). Presentations in my organization accomplish this and other times don t.
Usually one can tell when this has been done and when it hasn t. Several are effective and others

There are basic reasons why specific presentations capture attention and certain don t. One of the
biggest problems with presentations in our workplace is, redundancy. They pound the same
information repeatedly. There have been presentations delivered, where person decided that a word
or point needed to change that would create little to no difference in the presentation; however, we
would be required to view another presentation of the same material, occasionally less than a

My time at the law firm was full of ups and downs a lot like any other job may offer. Throughout
the internship as the semester was ending I began to see a difference in the way I was treated by
the workers and I began to notice a difference in the attitudes of my co workers. Maybe it was
just because the end of the year was coming and stress from outside the work area was entering
the office. Anyhow the drama created by the stress levels of the co workers personal and work
life created many flaws within the office that I feel need to be addressed. The office is full of
problems but financing is not one of those problems. The agency holds 8 civil law attorneys who
pay the business half of all their attorney fees, which can accumulate a lot over a calendar year.
This allows the agency to keep up to date technology in every office. Since money is not a
problem with the firm the main problems faced are the internal issues of the employees. One of
the problems we have is the drama and ill mannered attitudes that is shown towards other
employees. For not being employed very long at the firm I have seen and heard some disturbing
rumors about people that I work with. I do not feel that this rumor spreading is professional and it
should not happen in this agency. However the drama will not stop due to the clique like work
force the agency has. Another well known problem that the employees have to live with is the
insurance rate being outrageously too expensive for sometimes even

New Approaches to Software Testing Essay
INTRODUCTION
Software Testing can be termed as process of validating and verifying a computer program with
intent to check whether it meets the requirements which guided in design and development, ensure
that system works as expected, system is implemented with desired characteristics and satisfies the
needs of its stake holders. This process consumes nearly 50% of product development costs, hence
is a costly and time consuming process. The growing complexity of modern software applications
has triggered tester s interest in leveraging new approaches to improve software quality.
Software Testing is classified into following types based on the various criteria:
Source of test generation.
Life cycle phase in which testing takes place

Test process models classify testing process based on the various Software Development Lifecycle
models adopted in development process like Waterfall model, Spiral model, Agile model, Test
driven development. The testing includes the corresponding tailored models of testing for the
model used in SDLC.
Software testing is intended to find errors and defects during the software product development.
Therefore sufficient effort is required to ensure that system is in line with the requirements of the
corresponding phase. Manual generation of test cases and applying them on the System under Test
(SUT) is a laborious process and depends on skill and expertise of the tester performing the process
of testing. A test Engineer has to keep track of several issues during testing like what test cases shall
exercise the program, ensure maximum coveragability, determine whether adequate testing has
been done, check whether sufficient test cases are available to meet the testing requirements on
time, approaches and methods involved in testing, extent of automation in testing etc.. As the above
process involves much human intervention, the efficacy of the process is not consistent.
To ensure the better outcome as for the result of the efforts, the process of software testing needs to
be automated. Automation of software testing involves testing the software with robust

Bloodletting And Miraculous Cures Character Analysis
Dr. Vincent Lam is a profound Canadian physician and writer. Bloodletting and Miraculous
Cures is his award winning novel that speaks on the reality of what it s actually like to be in
medical school aiming to be apart of a medical profession and the difficult expectations students
must face while still managing to stay sane during those challenging years of their lives. It s a
collection of short stories partly based off of his experiences in the medical field, following the
lives of fictional characters Ming, Fitzgerald, Chen, and Sri as they endure medical school and later
work as doctors. Dr. Lam does a remarkable job at incorporating unique and compelling characters
with intriguing storylines who face common and extraordinary moral dilemmas that seem to shape
their overall characters. Lam introduces themes of love, fear, tradition, drugs, death, self doubt,

The novel seems to orbit around one of the main protagonists, Ming. Ming is a hard working
organized student that prioritizes school and family before anything. While trying to keep her
priorities intact she faces many moral dilemmas that seem to shape her overall character
throughout the novel. Although the characters are very knowledgeable young adults who are
capable of making their own life decisions, just like Ming they deeply value the opinions of
others such as family and friends and often times allow those opinions to manipulate their own
thought process. Ming comes face to face with the theme of duality when she falls in love and
enters medical school and it seems to contradict her traditional belief system. It leaves her in a

Comparing The Road Less Traveled And The Road Not Taken
The song by Lauren Alaina, Road Less Traveled is connected to the poem The Road Not Taken
written by Robert Frost. The poem and the songs are connected through the words and how they are
represented. Both songs are speaking about taking the road that would not get traveled on as much.
Within the poem and the song, I found four connections to each other. The first connection in The
RoadNot Taken was And be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to
where it bent in the undergrowth . This was connected to the line in the song Why do you keep on
staring? . They are connected because the man in the poem is standing in front of both of the paths
staring at them trying to decide which one he should go down. The second connection was in The
RoadNot Taken in the lines where the man says, Because it was grassy and... Show more content on

These are connected by the concept of the path having not been traveled on, and by walking on
it will begin to look worn. Kicking up the gravel is Lauren Alaina s way of saying go do
something no one else is willing to do. The third connection from The Road Not Taken is, Yet
knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back . These lines are
connected to the song when she says So don t hold back and just run it because the man in the
poem is hesitating if he should continue to take the less traveled road or the other one that was
almost the same. Lauren Alaina is telling people to not be afraid and keep going on in life, just as
he does in the poem. The fourth and final connection between the poem and the song are when
Robert Frost wrote, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference . In
Lauren Alaina s song Road Less Traveled the connection is Don t be afraid, take the road less
traveled . They are connected because in the end they both are talking about life and decisions in

Gender Roles In Ecuador
Ecuadorian children become very excited to receive another opportunity to learn and support
their peers. Children in Ecuador have more freedom than those that I have grown up to know. For
example, they have permission to leave school grounds whenever and they may choose to not
come back. Occasionally, teachers will send children home or out from school grounds to find an
object or to bring their parent or sibling back with them ( Being a Kid in Ecuador). Though parents
are fully capable, they usually send their children off to the market to bring back groceries, so that
when they are older they are able to do that on their own. Another way kids show their
independence is through visiting the nearby river to go for a swim, usually inviting... Show more

For example, the people of Ecuador view play as a group activity which inspires community
which is highly valued in the culture; however, in the Japanese culture they view play as a
weakness or an activity that distracts them from their success as an individual. The Japanese
culture focuses more on the academic accomplishments of an individual rather than the success
of a team in a sport or game. The intense focus of an individual is shown through this study of
Japanese children being photographed around their group of friends. Rather than inviting other
children into their picture the children preferred to be alone while show casing the
accomplishments they had made (Izumi Taylor, 2016). While Ecuador differs greatly from Japan
when addressing their types of children s play, the situation is quite opposite when compared to
the Ecuadorian and American views of play. Throughout my childhood, my parents constantly
encouraged us to be social and interact with our neighbors and friends. Because of this, once we
walked into the door from school we would be fed a snack and then be sent outside to play until
dark. When compared to the children s play in Ecuador, the aspect of community is key; hence, the
group games and encouragement to be outside with the neighbors. A few differences between the
Ecuadorian play and mine would be the available time spent outside. As children are released from
school in Ecuador

Berger Family Encounters In Awake And Sing
The struggle the Berger family encounters in Awake and Sing is clearly evident by the setting
Clifford Odets sets up for his audience. Throughout the opening pages of the play, particularly in
this excerpt, the dialogue is chalk full with literary elements of mood, tone, and imagery. These
three elements each complement each other as they all provide the play with a dark, depressing,
and somber overtone. Not only does Odets provide the reader with textual and linguistic setting
elements, but the physical setting portrays a gloomy atmosphere as well. The play takes place in
an apartment in the Bronx, New York City during the Great Depression. Already, the time period of
the play, in addition to the apartment being in the poverty stricken neighborhood of the Bronx gives
context to how hard it is for the Berger... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only thing in his way is the plummeting economy keeping him from a prosperous, successful,
and worry free life. These phrases, although said with hope, evoke emotion and put a sense of
stress on the reader as they learn that this family cannot live comfortably. Ralph takes off his rose
colored glasses and becomes less optimistic when he questions life by saying, What s it for?
(Odets, 42). The audience now sees a man struggling with his identity and purpose. Ralph s
words set a strong, dark, and continuous tone for the play that serves to encompass his entire
family. Ralph continues to focus on his working career and how he still cannot seem to provide
the little things in life that he desires. The reader is confronted with imagery that explains the
reality of the Berger s situation through the eyes of Ralph. The audience comes to realize that
Ralph sleeps on a day bed in the front room (Odets, 42). Odets provides an image of a character
who is questioning his place in life, and who quite literally does not have his own personal space

Obeying the law, or rules is very important. There are many rules you need to follow. The law
that I think is very important, is that children, and students have to go to school. It is a state law. I

students/cadets get to go to school. People all arround the world eather can t go to school, or can t

Sequencing Deficits Are Not Discriminatory Of Any Age
Sequencing refers to the ability to carry out an activity in a logical, timely, and orderly manner
(Early, 2006). Sequencing deficits are not discriminatory of any age and are commonly found in
individuals with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, cognitive perceptual disorders,
and mental health disorders. Some diagnoses that are tied to sequencing deficits are CVA, TBI,
Autism, ADHD, and dementia, to name a few (Occupational Therapys Role in Cognitive Disorders,
2011). Sequencing deficits may range from minor to severe and require occupational therapy to
increase successful completion of everyday activities by providing techniques that improve task
sequencing. Sequencing comes as automatic thought for most individuals when performing a
simple task, such as making a bed or brushing teeth. For instance, individuals whose sequencing
abilities are intact will know that a fitted sheet must be placed onto a bed before a comforter, but
for some with cognitive deficits or learning disabilities, this task may be confusing and difficult to
remember. Due to cognitive decline, individuals that once had the ability to perform tasks in
correct sequences may now have difficulty doing so. These difficulties are common in patients
with dementia as memory declines (Clark et al., 2012). Individuals with sequencing deficits require
some form of visual aid or verbal cueing to complete a task correctly. If an individual who has
difficulty sequencing activities

The Importance Of Sustainable Development On The Environment
Over the course of the past few decades, humans have truly started to understand and study issues
that threaten our environment in great depth. Modern environmental sustainability is defined as the
link between the health of nature and society, population growth, distribution of wealth and the
combined approach to development, equity and conservation not new to social and environmental
policy (Oiamo 23). The definition of sustainabilityhas transformed over time along with our
knowledge and continually evolving understanding of the word. Sustainable developmentis a
process that goes hand in hand with sustainability, however the definition is widely deliberated.
Nonetheless, the most accepted definition was coined from the Brundtland Report in 1987 is
development that meets the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations
to meet their needs (Oiamo 28). Succinctly, sustainable development is only using the essentials
needed to preserve ourselves as of right now, and nothing more. What lead to this present day
concept of environmentalism and sustainability were economic, environmental and social shifts
prior to the 1970s.These are known as the three pillars of sustainability and were contrived by
environmentalists such as Ebenezer Howard and Rachel Carson.
The major event that caused organizations, such as the World Conservation Strategy to develop the
three pillar concept was the industrial revolution and the effects it had on the world. One

A Portrait Of A Rebellious, Independent Mulan
To construct a portrait of a rebellious, independent Mulan, two characteristics that are preferred by
Western audiences, Disney chooses to keep only a few of the functions from the source tale. In
order to set the stage for her climatic moment of redemption, Mulan must have a villain to struggle
against. She is not just in a war, but is locked in a battle with the leader of the opposing army, Shan
Yu, almost singlehandedly saving the emperor. She defeats not only Shan Yu but the gender
restrictions of Chinathat kept her hidden as a male in the army. Outwardly, Disney presents China s
ideology, including what is required of a woman as gender performance, as a given fact, creating a
specific narrative gaze that influences how the global... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As she states in the song, Reflection, I will never pass for a perfect bride or a perfect daughter
(Rita Hsiao). Yet, it is that exact motive, her desire to be a dutiful daughter, in the ballad that
sends her off to war, because Father has no grown up son (The Ballad of Mulan). The source
material of the ballad is highly unfamiliar to American audiences, in particular, but to the global
audience as well. This gave Disney the opportunity to reconstruct the essence of the tale to speak
more about Mulan s individualism and struggle against a repressive culture in which she cannot
show her face. Mulan: Rise of a Warrior presents a very different characterization of Mulan, a much
more mature vision of the female warrior. She witnesses the death of her comrades in battle, and
the struggle of falling in love with another soldier whom she knows at any moment might fall on
the battlefield.
I argue that the lack of positive reception towards Disney s Mulan is a lack of semantic fit. Mary
Yoko Brannen creates this term in her article, When Mickey Loses Face: Recontextualization,
Semantic Fit, and the Semiotics of Foreignnes. She defines semantic fit as taking place on the
discursive level of semiotics, when the signifier, the word or image, is abstracted from its original
context and so its meaning has been lost (602). She argues that

Inside the confines of Earlwood, you will find a small shopping precinct, plentiful parks and

Earlwood is often mistaken for being part of the Inner West, but the Cooks River, the natural

The Risks Of The Wholesale And The Smes.credit Risk
In the recent past, there have been concerns in the companies and businesses such that they have to
show their credit worthiness before they are given a loan. The UK has been fluctuating due to
global inflation rates and therefore this has caused uncertainty of the business. This has made the
lending institutions to be strict in evaluating the credit risks of the wholesale and the SMEs.Credit
riskwill measure the probability of a business getting a loss due to a business failure of settling
loans. This convectional credit risks results from the the possibilities of defaulting of the debts, an
investment or invoice. The defaulting of the loans is the major cause of the wholesale credit risk.
Individuals or businesses will always default because of lack of collateral or guarantors to settle the
debts.
There are various methods that the banks will use to mitigate the wholesale credit risk. The bank
is required to carry out operational and risks management processes to ensure that all the
documents that have been used to guarantee a particular transaction is legal, binding and valid.
There is therefore the need for the bank to carry out sufficient legal appraisal before a conclusion
is made by the bank so as to recognize the credit risks. The CRM techniques will reduce the
wholesale credit risks significantly. Although this technique reduces credit risk, it consecutively
increases other risks such as market, liquidity and operational risks. It is imperative that the bank

glasses....it was the same child the same frail, honey hued shoulders, the same silky supple bare
back, the same chestnut head of hair... (39). He uses his words to relive and revive his adolescent
love of Annabel. HH objectifies Lolita by focusing on the nymphet assets he finds so exciting
though he rarely addresses her inner mind or feelings. He notes her bad moods and bad manners,
Humbert nevertheless remains convinced of Lolita s connection to Annabel, adolescent romance
from his younger years. The connection is important to Humbert and Humbert alone; this
strengthens his belief that only a man like himself could truly understand the rareness of a nymphet
like Lolita. This thinking diminishes Lolita to a secretly held idea of Humbert s and this denies her
the chance to grow in her life. The disconnect between Humbert s passionate yet diminishing view
of Lolita the nymphet and Lolita the girl is found in Humbert s language; which glamorizes the
unglamorous point of view of a pedophile. Humbert describes his illicit desires with sophisticated,
striking prose; making the ideas attractive instead of what would otherwise be vile. This effect of
language is particularly notable when Humbert masturbates against Lolita. Despite the troubling
nature of

Analysis Of Bwi s Ad Campaign
In utilizing hypothesis testing, BWI s ad campaign that states the average airfares from BWI are
lower than averages fares from Dulles. The average (one way) fares from Dulles over
comparable routes is claimed to be $165. If there is a 10% level of significance with over 100
degrees of freedom, there is evidence that the mean sale price is actually not less than those at
Dulles. In Figure 1, the t score equals 1.47. Therefore, the null must be rejected because the
absolute value of T (1.47) is greater than T of alpha (1.28) for the upper tail test. The Dulles
average fare of $165 is greater than the average fares of BWI of $158.33 (from Figure 2).
Average fares at BWI are actually less than the fares at Dulles. Thus, because the null is rejected,
there would be a Type I error. If the null is rejected, but BWI accepts the null as true, then the
Type I error would prove problematic. The univariate estimate of fares in question previous
aforementioned in the above statement, also known as the point estimate method, can be improved
by using another common type of univariate estimation technique. In the point estimate approach,
we randomly choose a fare that would fall under the range most of the fares in the data set fell
under. Yet, the interval estimate method is more accurate to use because point estimate is
technically impossible because probability at a specific point is always zero. So, the interval
estimates for the average fare with a 90% confidence level would be

buddhist temple reflection paper 2 1
My first experience in a Buddhist temple was quite different than anything I have experienced
religion wise. I visited the Quan Am Monastery (Vietnamese American Buddhist) at 3500 South
Goodlet. I got to experience first hand how meditation in a Buddhist temple actually works. I
was very intrigued to find out how someone outside of the Christian faith, worshipped. As one
might expect, the atmosphere was very tranquil. My group members and I called ahead a few
days earlier and a man answered the phone and it was very hard to understand what he saying but
I know I heard him say come on Friday so that s what we did. When we arrived we stepped
outside the vehicle we took a look around and there were two buildings outside. One that had...

While we were meditating he told us to count every breath that we make and if we start to think
of anything start back over at 1. So we closed our eyes and began to meditate. While we were
meditating things kept irritating my face, for example a string of hair, but the thing is before we
started meditating wasn t anything bothering me. Isn t that ironic? After a while it went away when
I stop thinking about it; I truly think it was a figment of my imagination. We meditated for at least
30 to 45 minutes. He hit the dung 3 times to let us know the meditation was ending. When I opened
my eyes I felt so calm and relaxed as if I had no worries in the world. It was so peaceful. The guy
who led meditation opened up the floor for questions, but I really didn t have any questions to
ask because I was so calm and I had already asked all the questions that I needed to know when
were outside. So we ended the question part and he let us take pictures. We went outside and put
our shoes back on and walked around to the back so he could explain the statues to us. He
allowed us to go inside the Vietnamese temple and take a look around and it was the biggest
temple I have ever seen. He told us about what goes inside there. The Buddhist people that speak
English go inside the temple that looks like a house and the ones that don t goes inside the big
one. We took pictures of the building looked around. They welcomed us to come back if we
wanted but I really had enjoyed myself.

The Epistemic Closure Principle By Edmund Gettier
Alexander Jerde Phil 312 10/20/2014
The Epistemic Closure Principle The Epistemic closure principle explains that knowledge can be
gained by the logically implied inferences between a predicate, based on past experience, and a
conclusion. By definition epistemic closure purports that we are justified in believing that our
logical inferences are true. Therefore, we can conclude that our past experience (predicate) is a
reason to believe a proposition. This principle has been used as the basis of various forms of
skeptical arguments against the traditional analysis and inductive/deductive reasoning. Such an
example was presented by Edmund Gettier, whose arguments question if we are justified in
believing our beliefs as knowledge. Also, Hume questioned if we can really trust inductive
/deductive reasoning. In the following I will argue that even though, Gettier s arguments hold some
truth, we are still caused to conclude that the epistemic closure is a logical necessity and true. The
epistemic closure principle states that knowledge can be gained by acceptance of predicates
logically implied relationship with their conclusions. Epistemic closure entails that, deductive and
logical reasoning are sound principles of reaching knowledge. Also that, a conclusion (proposition)
can be known then by understanding that a necessary logical or deductive inference between a
predicate and a conclusion exist. Epistemic closure also entails that we are justified

School Counselor Interview
Making the decision to make a difference
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook published by the Bureau of Labor the
employment of school and career counselors is projected to grow 8 percent from 2014 to 2024,
about as fast as the average for all occupations. Increasing school enrollments should lead to
employment growth of school and career counselors .
Having the opportunity to interview Feliza Martinez, a University of California, Irvine graduate
with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a California State University, Long Beach graduate
with Masters of Science in Counseling gave me a perspective of the type of work that she does as
an elementary school counselor. We both come from the same background and have face challenges

then that would require education beyond a bachelor degree. I had always picture myself having
my own classroom and returning to Kern County to empower and teach students. After talking to a
few social workers in Kern County I became interested in the field, but that would require me to
attend a graduate program. After graduation I could see myself working in the education field

Analysis Of Charge Of The Light Brigade
Good morning and welcome back, to Poetry and Society, lesson 5. In today s lesson we will be
exploring the attitudes and morals portrayed in the poem Charge of the Light Brigade written by
Alfred Lord Tennyson; through the literary devices, themes and form, and how they are relevant to
the Crimean War.
Alfred Lord Tennyson, is a renowned British poet from the Victorian Era. Loving books as a
little kid, lead to him to writing a 6000 lined epic poem at the age of 12. Since that age he
continued to write poems and soon enough in 1850 became the most popular poet in the Victorian
Era. Two years later the Crimean war broke out between the Russians and the British. Tennyson,
intrigued by the war, decided to write about the famous Battle of Balaclava; where the British
Cavalry had in fact attacked the wrong unit whilst in battle. This lead to his most famous poem
Charge of the Light Brigade, which informed both people at the time and people now of the mistake
the British made.
The Crimean war, an attack of the British attempting to take over land in Ukraine on the Crimean
Peninsula. War at the time was used to unify a nation, as well as inform other countries of the
potential and status of one s country. Britain at the time was slowly expanding out to countries,
owning 33 countries at the time. Britain was considered quite patriotic under the ruling of Queen
Victoria, men that went out to fight in the war were doing it purely for their country, and nothing

Segmentation And The Domain Independent Partitioning Of An...
Segmentation The important aim of image segmentation is the domain independent partitioning of
an image into a set of disjoint regions that can be visually differentiated, homogeneous and
meaningful with respect to some characteristics or computed property such as grey level, texture
or colour to enable easy image analysis. Image segmentation is a useful tool in many realms
including industry, health care, astronomy, and various other fields. Segmentation in concept is a
very simple idea. Simply looking at an image, one can tell what regions are contained in a picture.
Is it a building, a person, a cell, or just simply background? Visually it is very easy to determine
what a region of interest is and what is not. Doing so with a computer algorithm on the other hand
is not so easy. How do you determine what defines a region? What features distinguish one region
from another? What determines how many regions you have in a given image? Discontinuity and
similarity/homogeneity are two basic properties of the pixels in relation to their local
neighbourhood used in many segmentation methods. The segmentation methods that are based on
discontinuity property of pixels are considered as boundary or edges based techniques and that are
based on similarity or homogeneity are region based techniques. We have intentionally separated
thresholding technique from region based due the usage of histogram and its simplicity. A lot of
limitations are faced while applying segmentation namely:

Major Themes In The Last Unicorn By Peter Beagle
The unicorn stood still at the edge of the forest and said aloud, I am the only unicorn there is.
They were the first words she had spoken, even to herself, in more than a hundred years. The Last
Unicorn is the story of a unicorn s mystical quest to search for her people. Along her adventure
she s joined by companions, Schmendrick the magician and Molly Grue, who have their own
wishes and desires. They hear of stories that King Haggard and the Red Bull drove them away,
leading them to investigate at King Haggard s castle. The author, Peter Beagle, incorporates a major
theme in the story, wistfulness, because every character had something they strongly desired or
regretted. This wistfulness becomes the basis for the characters actions... Show more content on

I am human, and I love you...I will not love you when I am a unicorn... [249]. Since she must fight
the Red Bull, Lady Amalthea is changed to a unicorn. Seeing Prince LГr defend her, motivates her
feeling of loss and rage to fight. Suddenly the unicorn screamed...it was an ugly, squawking wail
of sorrow and loss and rage, such as no immortal creature ever gave. [265]. All in all, Lady
Amalthea becomes a small part of the unicorn and learns about a human s feelings and mortality.
Lady Amalthea s lover, Prince LГr, was an adopted son of King Haggard. Determined, Prince LГr
tries to gain Lady Amalthea s affection through heroic deeds. Her affection is only won when
Prince LГr comforts her by singing and saves her from her nightmares. This is where their
relationship begins to grow. Moving forward in the story, when Lady Amalthea refuses to change
back, Prince LГr tries to convince her to transform. He understands that her quest must be
completed and in the process he would lose Lady Amalthea. Quests may not simply be
abandoned; prophecies may not be left to rot like unpicked fruit; unicorns may go unrescued for a
very long time, but not forever. The happy ending cannot come in the middle of the story. [251].
When the unicorn faces the Red Bull, his motivation of love for Lady Amalthea drives him to fight
and protect her. I became a hero to serve you, and all that is like you. [252]. After the
transformation she returns to

I. Introduction: Whenever you walk at the campus of the American University of Sharjah, you will
definitely find the young Arab girls wear trendy Western dresses as well as the Arab boys wear
stylish Western clothes. And even students with more conservative dresses seem more Western than
Eastern. No matter how young Arab people wear or look like nowadays, they even tend to be
different in the language they use in typing and communicating. ... Show more content on

However, Kesserwani strongly believes that Arabizi might have severe cultural and linguistic
consequences (Salhani, 2013). Education System and Language
The impact of Arab s over reliance on English based technology has affected many other critical
aspects of Arab society. As Warschauer explained throughout his book, university level courses that
are taught in English are expanding nowadays to further include other linguistic courses such as
Arabic. Consequently, parents are forced to register their children in English based schools so
they can afford a good job in the future and maintain a high status in society (2002). However, this
desire for upward social mobility has led to cultural linguistic dualism (Findlow, 2006). Therefore,
Arab youth can speak, interact and even live with a linguistic mixture of Arabic and English.
However, this phenomenon can lead us to recognize these dramatic concepts language death ,
language loss , language decay and even linguistic genocide , which convey the increasing concerns
about the future of the Arabic language (Findlow, 2006).
Education has a critical role to play in the discourse of how the Arabic language is rapidly
disappearing from new generations lives and heavily displaced by English. Schools nowadays in
the Middle East adopt English as the major language of teaching and as a consequence they are
teaching Arabic to Arab students as a foreign language:

  • 2. Triton s Modern Influences Have you ever watched the little mermaid or Spongebob and wondered, Who is Triton? Most likely, you have. These two children s cartoons are both perfect examples of Triton s modern influence. I m Nicholas Torres and I will be speaking about Triton. Born to Poseidon and Amphitrite, Triton was always in some way or another like his father. Triton carries a trident and uses a conch shell as a trumpet. Not much is known about Triton s childhood. One of the few things that is known about Triton is that he lived in a golden palace under water with his parents and that he really enjoyed traveling to the coast of Libya, where he met his lover, Libya. He had many siblings. Triton had about 50 half siblings. Some of them are Theseus, Orion, Belus, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most people look at those kinds of quotes and similar to me, laugh at it because we realize that following your dream will lead you to a high percentage of failure in life. Famous people and programs such as Disney channel, tell us to follow our dreams and never quit. Most of the time, we refuse to listen by switching the channel or just turning off the TV. Although, Muhammad Aliwas different. He challenged himself. He didn t switch the channel or refused to hear it. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, young men were being drafted to go and serve in the military. When Ali was noticed for his fighting, political figures decided to draft him due to his useful fighting skills. Although, Ali rejected. He rejected because he had just won his heavyweight boxing title and because he did not want to go to war to kill people. Because of this decision, Ali s heavyweight boxing title was taken away and he was put in a five year prison sentence. Coming out of prison was hard for Ali. Because of his racial color, he would get rejected from places such as restaurants. A lot of people turned him down and he wasn t allowed to fight back in the ring. But, Ali didn t give up and soon found an opportunity that brought him to become the first person in history, to win the heavyweight champion title three times. Muhammad Ali was not only the first person in history to win the heavyweight champion title three times, but he was also a person who never gave up his dream. We quit our dream jobs because there are such obstacles in our path such as expenses, lack of education, or simply because of laziness and complicatedness but not Muhammad Ali. • 4. Stanislavski Set Affects The Actor The second part of this essay looks at how the set affects the actor. Something that is very prevalent in almost all of the pictures we see of Stanislavski on stage is his almost cluttered looking stage. Being a fan and believer of Naturalism his goal would be to bring the audience and even the actors into this world he d created. Having a fully immersive set yields positive and negative effects for the actors. The positive for this is as I stated earlier a full sense of immersion. Should the set looks and feels exactly as it should be then then less imagination is required from the actor. They can effortlessly work with their surroundings and focus all energy into their character. If all of these pieces come together the actor can receive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Protestant Reform Movements On The European Continent... Following the Evangelical reform movements on the European continent against the Roman Catholic Church, England also experienced its own reform movements and reformists. During the fifteenth century and the early sixteenth century, the English monarchy was Catholic, and thus opposed to reform, prosecuting evangelicals as heretics. In the first half of the reign of Henry VIII, the second Tudor monarch, this pattern continued under the administration of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey as Lord Chancellor, and later with Sir Thomas Morein that same office (Marshall 31). However, in 1526, Henry VIII was in love with Anne Boleyn, and the delay of Pope Clement VII to grant him an annulment of his marriage to Katherine of Aragon set in motion the events... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite at the time reassuring Katherine, saying, if it is a daughter this time, by the grace of God, boys will follow. We are both still young, Henry later revealed he had had his doubts that his marriage to Katherine was valid (Weir, The Six Wives of Henry VIII 119). Sons were crucial in achieving a peaceful succession in Henry s mind, since England had just emerged from the War of the Roses, a civil war between the royal houses of Lancaster and York, when Henry VII, Henry VIII s father, took the English throne in 1485. Henry was very Catholic in his religious beliefs and well versed in Scripture, producing a work with the aid of Richard Pace, Thomas More, and Bishop John Fisher in 1521 against Martin Luther entitled Assertio Septem Sacramentorum adversus Martinus Lutherus (A Defense of the Seven Sacraments against Martin Luther) which earned him the title Fidei Defensor (Defender of the Faith) from Pope Leo X (Weir, Henry VIII: The King and His Court 231). Henry in this work takes the Pope s authority for granted, stating that he would not wrong the Bishop of Rome so much, as troublesomely, or carefully to dispute his Right, as if it were a matter doubtful.... Whether or not it is common I am not sure, however I react to a different leadership style than the one I implement myself. Above I have created my own leadership model that I feel covers all of the aspects it takes to being a successful leader. There are three elements to being a productive leader in any given situation and it starts with you as a person. In order to be a leader I feel that you must first understand who you are as a person, you need to know what drives you to succeed, and what motivates you. As the leader of an organization, business, or large group you have to be able to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you as a leader can embrace and understand how to implement the six skills Cunningham believes are necessary to be a successful leader than you have the first element of my leadership model taken care of. My absolute favorite skill Cunningham discusses is the idea of managing symbols (Strong, 2016, Cunningham Skills), I believe the reason it sticks out so much to me is because becoming a teacher is something I have wanted for a while now and you have to know and understand how to conduct yourself in a manner that represents who you are as well as who your school is. • 7. Tarquinia Research Paper Large underground burial chambers hewn out of natural rock were a norm at Tarquinia. Mural paintings adorn many of these underground tombs. Banqueting couples, servants, and musicians celebrate the joys of the good life, and scenes of dancers occupy the flanking left and right walls. In characteristic Etruscan fashion, the banqueters, servants, and entertainers all make exaggerated gestures with unnaturally enlarged hands. Just like other tombs, this tomb is composed of a single chamber with wall decorations painted in fresco. Like other tombs of the time, this tomb s ceiling is painted in a checkered scheme of alternating colors, perhaps meant to evoke the temporary fabric tents that were erected near the tomb for the actual celebration of the funeral banquet.... • 8. Evolution Of Eusociality Is Based Upon A Sterile Caste System Evolution of eusociality is based upon a sterile caste system that consists of workers that sacrifices their selfish needs to serve the needs of the queen. In eusociality society, genetic relatedness is very important because it helps the genes of the individual to be passed on to the next generation. Additionally, in eusociality society, individual members become integrated and function has a group. In addition, eusocial species favor their sisters over their own offspring because it helps to increase their indirect fitness rather than focusing on their own direct fitness by raising their own offspring. The main reason for these females tend have a genetic relatedness of about 0.5 to her offspring, and to her sister .75. Eusociality is also based on haplodiploidy, which result in an unfertilized egg that develops into a male, and a fertilized egg that develop into females. Eusociality can only occur when the relatedness and the benefit is very high. Finally, evolution of eusociality involves division of labor, cooperativeness, and overlapping generation. 2.Page 99 question 1 conceptual question? • 9. American Society And Ugandan Society I stepped off the plane and the smell of burning trash immediately flooded my nostrils. The pungent smell permeated the air. Driving in the absence of lane lines, crosswalks, or any sense of organization made the eleven hour bus ride from the airport to my final destination all the more calamitous and fearsome. However, the most shocking of all in this initial experience of a new culture, was seeing vast amounts abandoned children. The biggest contrast between American society and Ugandan society is the difference in the value of children. In America, parents generally highly value their children and are willing to make sacrifices them. For children in Uganda , the story is quite different; they are exploited, abused, and viewed as burdens. The adverse effects of military occupation in Uganda can be traced back to the beginning of colonization. European countries like Britain, Belgium, and France all rushed into Africaat the end of the 19th Century trying to get their slice of Africa. Some nations were worse than others, but the two common themes that tied African imperialism together were racism and exploitation. For decades, the Ugandan people were under rulers that exploited them and treated them as if they could not be trusted in society. The torn society of Uganda has been affected by years, even decades, of war and militarized occupation. They face a corrupt government, broken economy, and execrable poverty. Though a number of these were created to hurt instead of help, many people look to the invention before looking to the mind of a human. For instance, drugs are used to cure people, while others treat them as an addiction. Similarly, weapons are used either to kill or protect. Good people choose good, while evil people make poor choices. Inventions overall improve our world; however, some people handle them as a detriment. The most frequently used, harmful, and dangerous weapon across the world is the Automatic Rifle, which was created in 1887 by General Manuel Mondragon. These powerful weapons were previously used in the military after generals discovered the horrific demolition it could cause. Abstract This study was done to look at the effects of fertilisers and identify which fertiliser produced the fastest results. Four types of fertilisers were used over a four week period and the findings were that inorganic fertilisers enhanced seed germination rates. 2. Introduction Fertilisers are widely used in agricultural production because they contain essential compounds such as phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium that have been depleted from most Australian soil. The phosphorus is responsible for the development of the plants, providing healthy growth and strong roots. As the liquefied fertilisers directly seeps into the soil and reaches the roots, plants are able to easily absorb the nutrients that they needed for growth. However, organic fertilisers need to break down in the soil first which may potentially take time before reaching the roots. The impacts of the overall climatic change have signaled danger for a long time, and it is clear that there is a global crisis facing us. One would wonder where we are headed and if the earth will be able to sustain life in the next century. When carbon dioxide and other toxic gasses are released into the atmosphere, they become too excessive for all the vegetation to absorb. Such conditions lead to the over accumulation of gasses that form a layer called a greenhouse. The gasses create a greenhouse effect that prevents any heat from escaping the earth (Taylor,881). This means that most of the heat being released from the earth s center as well as that being absorbed from the sun is retained within the atmosphere. The trapped heat has over time led to the rise in global temperatures which has subsequently had adverse effects on the ecosystem. In essence, the small changes to a temperature that have occurred on a global scale over time can lead to significant and human threatening changes in the global weather patterns. The contemporary warmth has been exhibited by melting ice lands and glaciers as well as increased floods and famines. Driving forces of this climatic change Scientists attribute a huge percentage of the gas accumulation to the human activities using fossil fuels and whose operation leads to the release of significant amounts of carbon dioxide and other toxic gasses into the air. The rate of temperature rise since the industrial revolution shows a significant change of 38% due to the constant emission of toxic gasses from human activity (Lonnie, 153). ... Features such as the holding of free repeated elections, peaceful transfers of power through elections, survival of tribulations, adherence to a rule of law, lengthy survival, and legitimacy recognized by the populace are all characteristics of a successful consolidation of democracy. In terms of which indicators would convincingly indicate truly successful consolidation of democracy, it is evident that legitimacy, survival of tests and tribulations, the presence of free consistent elections, and an adherence to a rule of law by the public are the most appropriate characteristics that would indicate or refute veritable consolidation. My strategy was firstly to try to know more about the other party s ambitions, goals, strategy etc. Dr Sanchez told me a lot about what he wanted to do with prunes, how much he wanted to spend, what he wanted in the short term and long term since the beginning of the discussion so I decided to trust what he said to me, even if I was maybe wrong doing that, I had the feeling that he was trustful, he was open to me and didn t seem to lie. His strategy was to expose the all situation in order to obtain the maximum he could have from me. I think he knew that he had a really limited budget and that the best thing would be to cooperate and not to compete. The critical moments has been firstly the moment when he told how much he had to spend on it because he gave me an important information, the second one has been when I learnt about his goals because I could analyse the long term and short term strategies we had to ... Along with being a social reform advocate, Chomsky also explored English linguistics and made several breakthroughs on this topic. This included his new theory about knowing the English language at birth. Prior, to his theory it was widely believed that language was not innate in the slightest, rather Chomsky argued that there was a part of the human brain dedicated to language at birth. This key discovery was widely rejected for awhile until it began to gain some prominence with a couple individuals. Children in Ecuador have more freedom than those that I have grown up to know. For example, they have permission to leave school grounds whenever and they may choose to not come back. Occasionally, teachers will send children home or out from school grounds to find an object or to bring their parent or sibling back with them ( Being a Kid in Ecuador). Sequencing deficits are not discriminatory of any age and are commonly found in individuals with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, cognitive perceptual disorders, and mental health disorders. Some diagnoses that are tied to sequencing deficits are CVA, TBI, Autism, ADHD, and dementia, to name a few (Occupational Therapys Role in Cognitive Disorders, 2011). Sequencing deficits may range from minor to severe and require occupational therapy to increase successful completion of everyday activities by providing techniques that improve task sequencing. Sequencing comes as automatic thought for most individuals when performing a simple task, such as making a bed or brushing teeth. For instance, individuals whose sequencing abilities are intact will know that a fitted sheet must be placed onto a bed before a comforter, but for some with cognitive deficits or learning disabilities, this task may be confusing and difficult to remember. Due to cognitive decline, individuals that once had the ability to perform tasks in correct sequences may now have difficulty doing so. These difficulties are common in patients with dementia as memory declines (Clark et al., 2012). The Importance Of Sustainable Development On The Environment Over the course of the past few decades, humans have truly started to understand and study issues that threaten our environment in great depth. Modern environmental sustainability is defined as the link between the health of nature and society, population growth, distribution of wealth and the combined approach to development, equity and conservation not new to social and environmental policy (Oiamo 23). The definition of sustainabilityhas transformed over time along with our knowledge and continually evolving understanding of the word. Nonetheless, the most accepted definition was coined from the Brundtland Report in 1987 is development that meets the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs (Oiamo 28). The source material of the ballad is highly unfamiliar to American audiences, in particular, but to the global audience as well. I argue that the lack of positive reception towards Disney s Mulan is a lack of semantic fit. Mary Yoko Brannen creates this term in her article, When Mickey Loses Face: Recontextualization, Semantic Fit, and the Semiotics of Foreignnes. She defines semantic fit as taking place on the discursive level of semiotics, when the signifier, the word or image, is abstracted from its original context and so its meaning has been lost (602). This suburb offers large blocks of land for residential or commercial development, unlike most of the surrounding suburbs, which makes it a rare commodity indeed. Inside the confines of Earlwood, you will find a small shopping precinct, plentiful parks and playgrounds, rare bushlands, and a beautiful cohesion of food, community, culture, trendy cafes, pizza bars, and natural beauty wrapped up in a setting that brings the old and the new together. Earlwood is often mistaken for being part of the Inner West, but the Cooks River, the natural boundary around its outer limits, makes that classification incorrect. The Risks Of The Wholesale And The Smes.credit Risk In the recent past, there have been concerns in the companies and businesses such that they have to show their credit worthiness before they are given a loan. The UK has been fluctuating due to global inflation rates and therefore this has caused uncertainty of the business. This has made the lending institutions to be strict in evaluating the credit risks of the wholesale and the SMEs.Credit riskwill measure the probability of a business getting a loss due to a business failure of settling loans. This convectional credit risks results from the the possibilities of defaulting of the debts, an investment or invoice. The defaulting of the loans is the major cause of the wholesale credit risk. Individuals or businesses will always default because of lack of collateral or guarantors to settle the debts. There are various methods that the banks will use to mitigate the wholesale credit risk. The bank is required to carry out operational and risks management processes to ensure that all the documents that have been used to guarantee a particular transaction is legal, binding and valid. There is therefore the need for the bank to carry out sufficient legal appraisal before a conclusion is made by the bank so as to recognize the credit risks. The CRM techniques will reduce the wholesale credit risks significantly. Although this technique reduces credit risk, it consecutively increases other risks such as market, liquidity and operational risks. It is imperative that the bank ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Humbert diverts the reader from his ugly actions, as a pedophile, with his pretty words. He goes beyond ordinary prettiness; his constant wordplay and verbal games force the reader to concentrate on language rather than on him. With his ability of enchanting words and wordplay, he develops the ability to freeze time and in turn freeze Lolitain her nymphet state. When Humbert describes Lolita playing tennis in minute detail, he succeeds in locking her into endless nymphet state. Every time he revisits her through prose, he is able to maintain that nymphet state his memory. Humbert writes Lolita in a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... HH objectifies Lolita by focusing on the nymphet assets he finds so exciting though he rarely addresses her inner mind or feelings. He notes her bad moods and bad manners, Humbert nevertheless remains convinced of Lolita s connection to Annabel, adolescent romance from his younger years. The connection is important to Humbert and Humbert alone; this strengthens his belief that only a man like himself could truly understand the rareness of a nymphet like Lolita. This thinking diminishes Lolita to a secretly held idea of Humbert s and this denies her the chance to grow in her life. The disconnect between Humbert s passionate yet diminishing view of Lolita the nymphet and Lolita the girl is found in Humbert s language; which glamorizes the unglamorous point of view of a pedophile. Humbert describes his illicit desires with sophisticated, striking prose; making the ideas attractive instead of what would otherwise be vile. • 41. Analysis Of Bwi s Ad Campaign In utilizing hypothesis testing, BWI s ad campaign that states the average airfares from BWI are lower than averages fares from Dulles. The average (one way) fares from Dulles over comparable routes is claimed to be $165. If there is a 10% level of significance with over 100 degrees of freedom, there is evidence that the mean sale price is actually not less than those at Dulles. In Figure 1, the t score equals 1.47. Therefore, the null must be rejected because the absolute value of T (1.47) is greater than T of alpha (1.28) for the upper tail test. The Dulles average fare of $165 is greater than the average fares of BWI of $158.33 (from Figure 2). Average fares at BWI are actually less than the fares at Dulles. Thus, because the null is rejected, there would be a Type I error. If the null is rejected, but BWI accepts the null as true, then the Type I error would prove problematic. The univariate estimate of fares in question previous aforementioned in the above statement, also known as the point estimate method, can be improved by using another common type of univariate estimation technique. In the point estimate approach, we randomly choose a fare that would fall under the range most of the fares in the data set fell under. Yet, the interval estimate method is more accurate to use because point estimate is technically impossible because probability at a specific point is always zero. So, the interval estimates for the average fare with a 90% confidence level would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I visited the Quan Am Monastery (Vietnamese American Buddhist) at 3500 South Goodlet. I got to experience first hand how meditation in a Buddhist temple actually works. I was very intrigued to find out how someone outside of the Christian faith, worshipped. As one might expect, the atmosphere was very tranquil. My group members and I called ahead a few days earlier and a man answered the phone and it was very hard to understand what he saying but I know I heard him say come on Friday so that s what we did. • 43. The Epistemic Closure Principle By Edmund Gettier Alexander Jerde Phil 312 10/20/2014 The Epistemic Closure Principle The Epistemic closure principle explains that knowledge can be gained by the logically implied inferences between a predicate, based on past experience, and a conclusion. By definition epistemic closure purports that we are justified in believing that our logical inferences are true. Therefore, we can conclude that our past experience (predicate) is a reason to believe a proposition. This principle has been used as the basis of various forms of skeptical arguments against the traditional analysis and inductive/deductive reasoning. Such an example was presented by Edmund Gettier, whose arguments question if we are justified in believing our beliefs as knowledge. Also, Hume questioned if we can really trust inductive /deductive reasoning. In the following I will argue that even though, Gettier s arguments hold some truth, we are still caused to conclude that the epistemic closure is a logical necessity and true. The epistemic closure principle states that knowledge can be gained by acceptance of predicates logically implied relationship with their conclusions. Epistemic closure entails that, deductive and logical reasoning are sound principles of reaching knowledge. Also that, a conclusion (proposition) can be known then by understanding that a necessary logical or deductive inference between a predicate and a conclusion exist. Epistemic closure also entails that we are justified ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In today s lesson we will be exploring the attitudes and morals portrayed in the poem Charge of the Light Brigade written by Alfred Lord Tennyson; through the literary devices, themes and form, and how they are relevant to the Crimean War. Alfred Lord Tennyson, is a renowned British poet from the Victorian Era. Loving books as a little kid, lead to him to writing a 6000 lined epic poem at the age of 12. Since that age he continued to write poems and soon enough in 1850 became the most popular poet in the Victorian Era. Two years later the Crimean war broke out between the Russians and the British. Tennyson, intrigued by the war, decided to write about the famous Battle of Balaclava; where the British Cavalry had in fact attacked the wrong unit whilst in battle. This lead to his most famous poem Charge of the Light Brigade, which informed both people at the time and people now of the mistake the British made. The Crimean war, an attack of the British attempting to take over land in Ukraine on the Crimean Peninsula. War at the time was used to unify a nation, as well as inform other countries of the potential and status of one s country. Britain at the time was slowly expanding out to countries, owning 33 countries at the time. Britain was considered quite patriotic under the ruling of Queen Victoria, men that went out to fight in the war were doing it purely for their country, and nothing more. This lead ... • 47. Segmentation And The Domain Independent Partitioning Of An... Segmentation The important aim of image segmentation is the domain independent partitioning of an image into a set of disjoint regions that can be visually differentiated, homogeneous and meaningful with respect to some characteristics or computed property such as grey level, texture or colour to enable easy image analysis. Image segmentation is a useful tool in many realms including industry, health care, astronomy, and various other fields. Segmentation in concept is a very simple idea. Simply looking at an image, one can tell what regions are contained in a picture. Is it a building, a person, a cell, or just simply background? Visually it is very easy to determine what a region of interest is and what is not. Doing so with a computer algorithm on the other hand is not so easy. How do you determine what defines a region? What features distinguish one region from another? What determines how many regions you have in a given image? Discontinuity and similarity/homogeneity are two basic properties of the pixels in relation to their local neighbourhood used in many segmentation methods. The segmentation methods that are based on discontinuity property of pixels are considered as boundary or edges based techniques and that are based on similarity or homogeneity are region based techniques. We have intentionally separated thresholding technique from region based due the usage of histogram and its simplicity. A lot of limitations are faced while applying segmentation namely: ... However, Kesserwani strongly believes that Arabizi might have severe cultural and linguistic consequences (Salhani, 2013). Education System and Language The impact of Arab s over reliance on English based technology has affected many other critical aspects of Arab society. As Warschauer explained throughout his book, university level courses that are taught in English are expanding nowadays to further include other linguistic courses such as Arabic. Consequently, parents are forced to register their children in English based schools so they can afford a good job in the future and maintain a high status in society (2002). However, this desire for upward social mobility has led to cultural linguistic dualism (Findlow, 2006). Therefore, Arab youth can speak, interact and even live with a linguistic mixture of Arabic and English. However, this phenomenon can lead us to recognize these dramatic concepts language death , language loss , language decay and even linguistic genocide , which convey the increasing concerns about the future of the Arabic language (Findlow, 2006). Education has a critical role to play in the discourse of how the Arabic language is rapidly disappearing from new generations lives and heavily displaced by English. Schools nowadays in the Middle East adopt English as the major language of teaching and as a consequence they are teaching Arabic to Arab students as a foreign language:
