Drafting A Proper Network Design
Drafting a proper network design is a critical step in building a network infrastructure that
provides top notch performance while at the same time minimizing the administrative workload.
Network design should also accommodate potential future scalability issues, ensuring that the
network can grow with the organization while minimizing disruption and downtime. The
UMUC network design presented below presents a plan that includes these factors, along with
infrastructure longevity and security. It is essential that the proper physical medium be
deployed to ensure that the signals transported by the medium deliver a strong signal to all
intended locations. However, the quality of the signal must be balanced with cost and
regulatory considerations. So for the UMUC network, CAT6 UTP shall be installed (with the
exception of one classroom and the Admissions office) because it costs less than either fiber
optics or CAT6 STP (shielded twisted pair) and is capable of delivering gigabit speeds within
100 meters (nearly every location in the building). The Admissions office and classroom located
on the floor above the Admissions office will connect into the network using fiber optics (62.5
micron multi mode fiber) because the distance to each room from the main IT closet will be just
over 100 meters in length. Wireless media will implement the 802.11g/n standards with 802.11b
disabled to prevent the network from dropping down to a slow 11 Mbps if legacy systems were to
connect to

Vigilantism In Batman
Journal 03 Vigilantism When I hear the word vigilante, there s one thing that comes to mind:
Batman. From the time I was a little girl watching the Batman movies, I have always supported
the idea of a vigilante. To me, seeing Batman deliver justice on criminals had always been very
exciting. As I grow older and wiser I ve developed more of an understanding of the corruption that
does destroy our justice system which makes me support vigilantism even more. Though real life
isn t quite as dramatic as the Batmanmovies, I like the idea of a masked vigilante protecting those
who cannot protect themselves. Vigilantes are the heroes that every community needs to swiftly
deal out justice. Traditionally, there will always be two sides to the

Differences And Similarities Between Lennon And Cobain
INTRODUCTION Everybody loves you when you re six feet in the ground, was once said by
John Lennon. The finest day I ever had was when tomorrow never came, Kurt. Though they died in
the midst of their career, John Lennon and Kurt Cobain amazed people with their successes,
obstacles, music. John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England ( John
1). At the time, World War II was going on (Burlingame, John Lennon
: Imagine14). His parents,
Alfred Alf Lennon and Julia Lennon divorced when he was a child (Burlingame, John Lennon:
Imagine 21) and he had to move in with his aunt and uncle (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine
25). In elementary school, he played guitar and harmonica, always enjoying music (Burlingame,
John Lennon: Imagine 32). The first song he ever learned was That ll be the Day by Buddy
Holly (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 33). As music took over his life, John got distracted
and his aunt told him that he could not make a living by playing guitar (Burlingame, John
Lennon: Imagine 36). When John was teenager, he started writing and composing music (Canale
1) as well as drawing and writing books. He wrote two books, In His Own Write and A Spaniard
in the Works (Watson 2). Similarly to Lennon, another musician got their inspiration at a young
age. Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20, 1967 in Aberdeen, Washington to Wendy and
Don Cobain (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 11). He came from a musical family and was
introduced to music at an early age. When he was three years old, he wrote his first song, Corn
on the Cops. When he started playing guitar, he held it backwards because he was left handed, and
played popular Beatles songs like Hey Jude (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 12). He was
fourteen years old when he received his first electric guitar (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well...
18). Like John, Kurt was involved with the visual arts and enjoyed drawing, whittling, and painting
(Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 13). The two musicians background allowed them to prosper
in the future. In 1956, John Lennon formed his first band, The Quarrymen, who had their first
concert in 1959 (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 38). Later, in 1960, the band

United Arab Emirates
The gulf country that I chose as my analysis topic is UAE (United Arab Emirates). In this essay I
have mentioned touch languages, religions, life style, economy and political factors. The
population of UAE was 9.27 million in 2016, with the GDP of 3.847 billion USD, these statistics
show that United Arab Emirates is a developed and economically strong country situated in Middle
East.
United Arab Emirates (UAE) could be a country on the Arabian Peninsula set on the southeastern
coast of the Persian Gulf and the northwestern coast of the Gulf of Muscat and Oman. The UAE
consists of seven emirates and was based on a pair of Gregorian calendar month 1971 as a
federation. Six of the seven emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al... Show more

This is why I chose this country(UAE) as my topic where people from different backgrounds ad
cultural value celebrate their differences together.
The United Arab Emirates is home to an upscale cultural heritage that has been powerfully
influenced by its distinctive setting. The region s varied piece of land, desert, oasis, mountains and
coast, settled the normal lifestyles that evolved over the centuries. A resilience and resourcefulness
necessary to survive in these harsh conditions was fostered by society s old social group structure:
every family was historically sure by obligations of mutual help to his immediate relatives and to
the tribe as well. Among the tribe a personality s unselfish welcome was the supply of his honor and
pride. a standard faith, Islam, conjointly provided the cement that made the society stick together
through thick and thin.
The largest group, the Bani Yas, roamed the large sandy areas that cowl most of the emirates of
Abu Dhabi and metropolis, also alternative tribes, too, like the Awamir and Manasir, shared this
difficult setting for various generations. All the subtribes and clans were acquainted with wander

Theme Of Choice
A connection between my studied texts was the theme of choice which was shown by characters
in my texts. Also, how the setting impacted the choices made. By this, I mean how the time and
place impacted what people did. My studied texts are, The Man I Killed and, On the Rainy River
by Tim O Brien, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, The Merchant of Venice by William
Shakespeare and the film Alice in Wonderlandwhich was directed by Tim Burton.
On the Rainy River, by Tim O Brien shows the theme of choice due to the setting of the text. In this
short story, Tim is sent a letter of conscription to enlist in the Vietnam War however he did not
want to fight in this war as he tells us by saying, I was conscripted to fight a war I hated. ... Show

Italy during the 16th century which is key to the choices, or lack of choices available to the
character Portia. Portia is the beautiful daughter of a rich merchant who lives in the city of
Belmont. Due to the laws of primogeniture at the time when Portia s father dies she is unable to
inherit the wealth that he has and has to marry whoever solves a riddle that her father left for the
suitors who would inevitably come. Portia is a strong willed girl who likes to make her own
choices but is forced to obey her father s wishes by the laws of primogeniture. This takes away
all of her choice in the matter which is evident that she doesn t enjoy when she says, I may
neither choose who I would nor refuse who I dislike. So is the will of a living daughter curbed
by the will of a dead father? This clever play on words shows that due to the laws of the time
Portia has been robbed of all choice that she might have in the matter of her future husband. This
is similar to The Kite Runner as they both include the influence of important people in the life of
whoever is faced with the choice or the lack of one. In the Kite Runner Amir was influenced by
his father seemingly loving Hassan more than he did Amir. This caused Amir to feel a pang of
jealousy against his friend and decide to leave him to the mercy of the bullies. In the Merchant
of Venice, Portia has restrictions placed on her to whom she can marry due to her father s. Even
though Portia ends up with the man that she wants to end up with it isn t due to her choice. This
shows how some of the people closest to us can influence our decisions. On the Rainy River also
is similar to The Merchant of Venice in the respect that there are similar social pressure put on the
people involved. Portia was denied a choice because she was a female and the rules of the time
made it impossible for a female

Shale And The Shale Formation
Introduction
Over the past few years, new technology has led us to the discovery and development of large
supplies of natural gas within shale plays across the United States. A shale play is a defined
geographic area containing an organic rich fine grained sedimentary rock. Shale gas in the United
States is rapidly increasing as an available source of natural gas.
The purpose of this report is to discuss estimated ultimate reserves of gas, oil, and NGL. Also, to
discuss the drilling and development costs per well for the Eagle Ford shale, the Bakken shale,
the Marcellus shale, and the Tuscaloosa Marine shale. Next, I will comment on the first
exploratory well and the company responsible for the discovery well. I will then discuss the ... Show

The shale play had a $60 billion impact on the local South Texas economy in 2012 and supported
116,000 jobs. Record drilling levels were reported, as well as some wells producing over 4,000
barrels a day. The Eagle Ford shale is the most active shale play in the world with over 200 rigs
running and is best known for producing dry gas, wet gas, NGLs, and oil. According to the US
Energy Information Administration, the average estimated ultimate recovery (EUR) of wells
during 2008 2013 was 168,000 bbl / well. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the
estimated amount of technically recoverable oil is 3.35 billion barrels.
Petrohawk Energy received credit for drilling the first modern day EFS well in 2008. Petrohawk
also completed the discovery of the horizontal well with 10 frac stages along 3,200 ft lateral. Lewis
Energy claims to have drilled the first EFS targeted well in 2002. Wells cost $6.5 to $7.0 million to
fully develop.
Bakken Shale
The Bakken shale ranks as one of the largest oil developments in the U.S. in the past 40 years.
The shale play has driven North Dakota s oil production to levels four times higher than previous
peaks in the 1980s. The Bakken shale play is located in Eastern Montana and Western North
Dakota. Oil was initially discovered in the Bakken play in 1951, but wasn t commercial on a large
scale until 10 years ago. The Bakken oil production is economic due to modern horizontal drilling
and hydraulic fracturing. The U.S.

In To Build A Fire Symbolism
In literature, imagery is used to evoke certain images and feelings in the reader s mind, to show
the reader the story instead of merely telling it. On the other hand, metaphors, and symbolism are
used to represent a concept and gives nuance to a story. Jack London uses imagery, metaphors,
and symbols to give his stories meaning that is both authentic and realistic. London uses
symbolism and imagery to reinforce the theme of the cycle of life and environmental adaptation
in In to Build a Fire and in A Piece of Steak. As one grows older, one has more limits and cannot
perform or adaptation as well. In to Build a Fire a man travels alone through the harsh environment
of the Yukon trail in extreme cold. As he travels, he faces problems

He is defeated by this younger opponent, making the theme of this story is that as one grows
older, one loses physical capability and it is harder to adapt. It is the cycle of life, only once is
one young and grows old to then, later die. Imagery and symbolism are vital tools in this story
because adds power to the theme and makes it more interesting. King fights against Sandel to be
able to feed his family and pay the bills because he lost all his money throughout the years.
London emphasizes this concept when he describes King s clothes as ... old and slouchy... his
cotton shirt, a cheap, two shilling affair, showed a frayed collar and ineradicable paint stains
(Jack London 256). In addition, to help the reader visualize his appearance, King is described, ...
lips were shapeless and constituted a mouth harsh to excess... jaw was aggressive, brutal, heavy.
The eyes, slow of movement and heavy lidded... They were sleepy, lion like the eyes of a
fighting animal. The forehead slanted quickly back to the hair, which, clipped close, showed
every bump of a villainous looking head. A nose twice broken and moulded... and a cauliflower
ear... (256). In addition, Tom King s name symbolizes he once was the King of boxing, but now
Youth is his enemy. Additionally, London called this story A Piece of Steak because the steak that
is in the title symbolizes that Tom King has a stake at winning the fight against Sandel. However,
as the story reaches the resolution, King accepts his fate in the world and accepts the fact that he
has no more fights in him since he is not able to go against Youth, thus symbolizing peace. Even
though, Tom King tried to adapt to his environment, he could not. Overall, the title has a deep
relationship with the story and symbolizes various things that make the story have a

The Pros And Cons Of Super Power
Many of us since we are little, imagine what it would be like to have super powers. Not only
that, but we also put into consideration which superpower would be the best, and why. Every
time someone asks which super power you think is the best you actually start to carefully list
cons and pros in order to get to the best super power. If I were to choose a super power, which
one would I chose? I would probably choose teleportation, also known as, teletransportation. I
would choose this super power because I could travel wherever I wanted to go. Not only would I
be capable of doing that, but also I would be able to do it without wasting any money. Unless you
decide to walk, every other method of transportation has a cost, but if you have teleportation you
would be able to move places in a free way, and also a lot faster. You could also get there in a
matter of seconds. Say for example, you have an emergency, and you need to get fast somewhere,
for instance the hospital, you could simply teleport there. You would save a lot of time that could
probably save your life.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you decide to use teleportation a difficulty you may encounter with is the following: you will
find yourself unable to enjoy the trip, for example the car ride to your beach house, the airplane
flight to another country, etc. For some people the trip is what really matters to them, not the
destination. Of course, if you are one of these type of people then you won t think of
teleportation as a great super power. Most people care only about getting somewhere fast and
without wasting too much money, if you are one of these type of people, then you will definitely
enjoy this super power. Besides that there really is no other limit in this great super power. If you
compare and contrast the cons and pros it s pretty obvious that this superpower has a lot more pros
than cons, therefore making this a great super

English The Official Language
The United States of America, despite being the most diverse country in the world, does not
have an official language. It has had an English only advocacy since 1919 when the 26th
president Theodore Roosevelt claimed We have room for but one language in this country, and
that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as
Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house. (Miller)
His point was clear: if you were an American who did not speak English, you simply were not
American. Therefore, there were not as many minorities back then as there is now. Many people
who agree on having the USA s official language be english say that allowing this to happen would
encourage immigrants to learn and adapt to America s culture. A certain article that accepts this
states, Making English the official language would encourage new immigrants to learn the
language of the country they have adopted as theirs. The end goal is to unite the American people,
while improving the lives of immigrants and native born inhabitants. (Tylt) Many people including
myself agree with this. If we have one official language for the US, it would be practically
effortless for others to communicate with each other. Some people will try to counter argue with
how forcing people to speak a single language is fundamentally un American (Tylt) when in
actuality, it will be easier and cheaper than the alternative. In Los Angeles in

Operation Nordwind Research Paper
One of the least know battles of World War II would become a crushing blow to a once world
dominating force. The battle that would become the last offensive operation for the Waffen SS
(Armed Squadron) it would be known as Operation Nordwind (Unternehmen Nordwind) (Chaisson,
2017). There were two offensive operations that were planned to occur almost simultaneously in the
French Alsace Lorraine territory. Operation Nordwind was not the only relative operation planned
to fight off the Allied force from entering Germanythru France. Operation Baseplate (Unternehmen
Bodenplatte) was the Germans aerial offensive operation designed to weaken allied forces in
northwestern Europe ( Ardennes Alsace, 2003). Ultimately, the second operation greatly depended
on the successful outcome of Operation Nordwind. They were both planned by the Chancellor of
Germany (Adolf Hitler) and his Commander in Chief West Field Marshal (Gerd von Rundstedt) in
the winter of 1944 ( Ardennes Alsace, 2003). Furthermore, as with... Show more content on

1,000 battle tanks and 2,000 guns, deployed across a 60 mile front. Its combat power rivaling that

The Learning Organisation
Organisational learning and learning organisations have been the focus of a great deal of evaluation
within management literature since the 1990 s (Senge, 1990; Michaux, 2002). This paper aims to
define and critically evaluate the concept of a learning organisation by drawing on the writings of
core authors to both support and demonstrate criticisms of the learningorganisation concept.
The Learning Organisation
Organisational learning is a continual process whereby an organisation adapts to its environment by
constantly improving performance through evolving knowledge and understanding by its members
and the organisation (Hartel, Strybosch Blyth, 2006). A learning organisation, on the other hand, is
an organisation which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The level of organisational learning required by an organisation will be dependent on its own
distinctive characteristics and considering the type of organisation and its operating environment, it
may not always be beneficial for an organisation to be a learning organisation (Hartel et al. 2006:
292).
The concept of the learning organisation gained wide acceptance from the works of Peter Senge
who is most well known for his body of work entailed The Fifth Discipline. Here, Senge (1990: 3)
introduces the notion of systems thinking and defines a learning organisation as one where people
continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive
patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are
continually learning to see the whole together . However, the concept of systems thinking has been
around since the 1950 s but it was not until Senge s writings that it gained popularity and
momentum.
Whilst it is necessary for an organisation to apply adaptive or survival learning an example which
would be adapting to changes in the current environment, Senge (1990) asserts that a true learning
organisation is characterised by generative learning which is learning that enhances its capacity to
innovate and create. Generative learning and the

What Affects The Gender Make Up In State Legislators And Does Gender
Matter?
Introduction
Does the relationship between the percent of state legislators who are women influence the policies
and laws that are passed in states? And, if so, what are the important areas that women exert greater
influence over? Is it abortion laws? Religiosity? Unemployment rates?
These are the questions that I will seek to answer throughout this research paper. Specifically, there
will be two main objectives: whether or not certain attributes of a state constituency contribute
negatively or positively in regards to the amount of seats held by women, and, if these attributes
do impact in a positive or negative manner, how big of an impact, once elected, do these women
exert power on a variety of issues.
I believe that not only would it be interesting to find out whether or not certain variables determine
a states legislature gender make up, but I think it is also important to know how big of an impact,
if there is an impact at all, that women legislatures have across a variety of issues and how their
views on these issues impact policy making decisions. We can use these variables to determine
how to better help increase gender equality and representation in the long run, especially with how
society has evolved in the last couple of decades alone. what President Barack Obama said is true
during the 2014 state of the union address and that women are still making

Colin Kaepernick s Views On Racism
Try This 2.3 I am using the same blog I did in the previous assignment. It is about Colin

stand. During the interview that night this is the statement he made. Passage I chose: I am not
going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of
color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.
There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. ... This
is not something that I am going to run by anybody. I am not looking for approval. I have to
stand up for people that are oppressed. ... If they take football away, my endorsements from me, I
know that I stood up for what is right, said Colin Kaepernick during his interview. This puzzled
me. I was angry, just like a lot of other americans, that Kaepernick would disrespect our country
like that. Even though there are problems in our country today, this isn t how you address it.

Theme Of Marriage By Gregory Corso Marriage
What causes people to contemplate marriage? Many would like to believe the answer is love,
but that is not always the case. People who think of an ideal marriage would think of two people
loving each other and sharing a personal bond or goals together. Marriage is usually defined as the
legally or formally recognized union of two lovers as partners in a personal relationship. This
suggests there is an actual connection between two people in marriage, but do people actually
consider this when committing to loveand support their partners forever? As research and studies
have shown, people ultimately get married for the incorrect reasons, in which love is not included
or even a part of. This philosophy can be easily applied to the short poem, Marriage by Gregory
Corso. In this emotional poem, the author argues marriage is more effectively understood or known
for culture and convenience rather than through the abstract considerations of love. Corso finds
himself confused multiple times, wondering if he should marry to not be lonely, for tradition and
for his physical and mental health. He disregards love, a relationship or a connection with his future
wife. The author ponders the decision weighing the options. He highlights which ones are the right
and which ones are the incorrect reasons, according to his opinion. General ways of convenience
like coping with loneliness, health and economic status, and navigating cultural stereotypes and
religion are often the true

The Importance Of Tanning Bed
It s summertime in Brevard County, and that means even more blazing temperatures! Atlantis
Vision Center in Indian Harbour Beach, FL, has provided expert optician care for 15 years, and so
we are recommending tips about keeping your eyes safe this summer.
Exposure to sunlight may increase the risk of developing growths on the eyes and cataracts. Don t
forget that this risk applies to using tanning beds, and always protect your eyes from indoor UV
light. When sunlight reflects off water and sand, it can lead to a painful condition called
photokeratitis (which is also responsible for snow blindness and is like a sunburned eye).
Since UV radiation is so damaging, always wear UV blocking sunglasses, and start wearing proper
eye protection at an early age.
More eye smart safety from the American Academy of Ophthalmology is below:... Show more
content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sunglasses need to block both UVA and UVB rays, and have a UV400 or 100% UV protection label.
A great style is the wraparound kind, so that the sunlight rays cannot enter from the side.
You still need sunglasses even if you wear UV blocking contact lenses.
Wear a hat! Broad brimmed hats are good options.
Clouds do NOT block UV light: The sun s rays pass through clouds and haze, so sun damage can
occur any time of year.
UV intense conditions: Sunlight is strongest mid day to early afternoon, when reflected off water,
and at higher altitudes.
Enjoy the summer sun safely and protect your vision! Visit http://www.atlantisvisioncenter.com

Active Learning Is The Best Option Of Learning
Active learning is productive, enhances opportunities and is supported or directed by technology.
However, that is not to say that active learning is the best option of learning for all. To determine
how well students learn while not physically in a classroom we need to evaluate how well learning
takes place in on line classroom environments. Skorton (2013) documented that an online course
has the potential to transform higher educations with substantial benefits for students, their
eventual employers, and participating communities. Therefore, evaluation of learning
environments indicates a real measure of the effectiveness of what is learned. Experiments have
shown the way that it is beneficial to a person s daily activities or student however; from
experiences, there should be a means to demonstrate what is learned. Did learning take place, at
least to meet defined objectives from a class or other learning environments? To me learning via
collaborative, instructional, and with a team of mixed backgrounds can promote a higher degree
(Jones 1995). My initial thoughts on this subject were that active learning seems to be a bit more
difficult in an online course that it would be sitting in an actual classroom with the personal and
physical interactions of others. That is unless there are sessions providing interactive, near real
time or live online classes. Learning in a classroom or while sitting at home on the couch accessing
classrooms through online resources is

know what is good for them or not? Parents play a big role. Parents are the role models of their
children. Parents spend most time with their children under a normal circumstance; therefore they
are the most influential figure in their childhood. According to the study from Healthy Day
Reporter, As if working mothers don t have enough to feel guilty about, a new study suggests that
the more time they spend working, the heavier their children become. (Behen, 2011, P.1) Parents
need to spend more time with their kids to watch and teach them what to eat right. Good habits are
easier to form while they are still young. More importantly, to educate them what a balanced diet is
so that in the future when parents are around their children, they can trust them to make the right
decision. One other very crucial aspect is the communication between parents and

Spanking In Children
Everyday parents are faced with the challenges of disciplining their children. We all wish there was
an instruction booklet that we could magical pull out and get them back on the right path, but no
such thing exists. Often times, your child pushes you to the edge of your personal limitations. At
this moment it is often we correct our child s behavior by spanking. Spanking is considered a form
of discipline that is acceptable by most and an unacceptable to a smaller crowd. Spanking can
lead to psychological problems in early adolescent, which long term can lead to emotional and
anger retention. Spanking is like smoking cigarettes. Having one or two cigarettes in a lifetime

Many of these parents who support spanking feel it is their right to do so. This is justified by the
simple fact as when they were a child they were spanked and said I turned out okay . This is
probably true for most of them, but 2017 is a different world from when they were children.
Supporting parents often say they know when and where to draw the line. At least 1,200 children
are killed every year at the hands of their parents in the name of physical punishment. (Guidance of
Effective Discipline, online). As I stated early, there is no written guideline to follow, so how do
we know when enough is enough? There is a huge grey area that is undefined and the true answer
is they don t. Parents sometimes forget that it is there duty to teach and educate to help our children
reach their full potential. Parents need to stop justifying their rights to discipline as a parent and
focus on changing the culture by using alternative methods and

We All Learn From Our Mistakes Essay
Everyone, at some point in their life, has made a mistake. Sometimes we get lucky and only falter
a little, making it through the problem relatively intact. Other times, we mess up a lot and have to
fix what was damaged over a long period of time. However, the same is true for most, if not all
cases those who make the mistakelearn from it. Often times, our failures teach us valuable lessons
that we only gained because of the experience we gathered after messing up. I have personally
achieved a wealth of knowledge and experience just from all of my own little mishaps, and a few
major ones.
One instance of a failure that taught me well was when I tried to find a quick solution for boiling
eggs. I was so tired of what I considered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s obvious that the mistake I made taught me a very useful lesson that day never try to boil eggs in

Another turbulent time that taught me through failure was when I tried to arrange a birthday
party for my sister. Everything was supposed to be arranged by me, so I went out a bought the
invitation cards, party favors, balloons, decorations, food, and a few gifts. I filled out the
invitations early and put them in a box to store them until I was ready to send them. Time flew
by fast between daily life with my kids and responsibilities, and before I knew it the day of the
party was upon me. Quickly that morning I decorated and cooked and prepared everything. As the
hour of the party came and went, no one showed up but the birthday girl, whom I had called
personally. Later it occurred to me that I hadn t sent out the invitations! That was why no one had
come. I soon learned from that mistake to be more organized and manage my time better when
planning events.
Yet another example of a failure that became instructive was when I tried to tilemy bathroom floor.
I simply did not want to dish out the big bucks to have a worker do my tiling, which I assumed
would be an easy job. I bought the necessary items and dove into the project with an eager do it
yourself attitude and absolutely no clue about what I was doing. I tried diligently to tackle the task,
but in the end, I only managed to get grout everywhere and

Dhcp, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ( Dhcp )
DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), allows a computer to join a network
without a statically assigned Internet Protocol (IP) address (Mitchell, n.d., para 1). With DHCP a
device can be assigned a unique IP address, as it joins the network (Mitchell, n.d., para 1). DHCP is
done on a server, and parameters are set on the pool of IP addresses that can be assigned (Mitchell,
n.d., para 4). In Server 2012 there are options to allow for fault tolerance for DHCP. The three
options available including, a failover cluster, setting up a split scope DHCP, and a DHCP failover
(De Clercq, 2014). It is recommended that Kris Corporation uses fault tolerance for DHCP. The
recommended method of fault tolerance is DHCP failover, which is new in Server 2012. This
option can replicate a complete DHCP scope to another DHCP server (De Clercq, 2014). When
configuring there is an option to use a hot standby or to do load sharing (De Clercq, 2014). Hot
standby uses one server as the active DHCP server, the second server is only used if the first DHCP
server is not available (De Clercq, 2014). Load sharing uses both DHCP server at the same time,
and the request are shared between the two servers (De Clercq, 2014). Load sharing is the default
option, and the recommended option for Kris Corporation. Kris Corporation is interested in
tracking IP addresses of all of the devices on the network. This can be done using IP address

Social Labeling Theory Essay
Labeling theory emerged during the mid 1960s and into the early 1970s due to the United States
experiencing a rapid social change caused by economic and political conflict. Labeling theory
focuses on the role social labeling has on the development of crime and deviance. The theory
stresses how an individual who has been labeled as deviant from societal norms might initiate them
to continue their involvement in crimeand deviance. Deviant behavior can be defined as conduct
that is disapproved by the public and is typically subject to some form of sanction. In simpler terms,
deviant behavior is socially constructed.
The roots of labeling theory can be traced back as early as 1902 to Cooley s looking glass theory on
the self, which simply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This concept referred to formal sanctions. It defined the youth s behavior as evil and extended to
the individual involved, characterizing him or her as evil too (Johannes Knutsson, 1977). Mead
was an innovator of symbolic interactionism and believed an individual s self awareness was
created through interaction with their environment. Theorist Edwin Lemert further developed this
idea by explaining how labeling affects criminality and recidivism among those who are categorized
as deviant. His theoretical approach distinguishes between primary and secondary deviance.
Primary deviance referred to individuals who commit nonviolent behaviors, sometimes referred to
as rule breakers. It should be noted that an individual does not reach this level of primary deviance
unless they are caught and labeled. When an individual is stigmatized and treated as deviant, they
began to identity themselves with groups who also labeled, resulting in them adjusting their
behavior to fit this identity as deviant. For Lemert, secondary deviance exists when an individual
chooses to accept and employ to their deviant status, committing more frequently and more violent
crimes. However, criminologists began to

Diagnostic Medical Sonography Essay
Diagnostic Medical Sonography was introduced into my life suddenly when I was 15 years old.
At that time, I was told that I had a blood clot running the length of my leg starting in my popliteal
vein. Ultrasound after ultrasound I found myself becoming more and more interested with what
was happening on the screen. Since I went to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for
majority of my ultrasounds, I always had a student coming into my exams. On my very last exam, I
started asking the sonographerquestions about the exam. This meant that not only could the

(Mattson and Simon, 1996)
WHAT IT IS
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or commonly known as MRI, is a technique used in medicine for
producing images of tissues inside the body. It is an important diagnostic tool because it enables
physicians to identify abnormal tissue without opening the body through surgery. MRI lets
physicians see through bones and organs. MRI does not expose the patient to radiation, unlike tests
that use X rays. MRI provides an unparallel view inside the human body. It is the method of choice

MRI technology is still in its infancy. The first MRI exam on a human being ever taken was on
July 3, 1977. MRI has been in widespread use for less than 20 years (compared with over 100 years
for x rays). There is still a long future for MRI. It is only the beginning. We can now image in
seconds what used to take hours.
Here are a few of the developments:
1. Very small scanners for imaging specific body parts are being developed.
2. Functional brain mapping (scanning a person s brain while he or she is performing a certain
physical task such as squeezing a ball, or looking at a particular type of picture) is helping
researchers better understand how the brain works.
3. Research is under way in a few institutions to image the ventilation dynamics of the lungs through
the use of hyperpolarized helium 3 gas.
4. New, improved ways to image strokes in their earliest stages is ongoing.(

Military Budget Essay
In late October 2016 the Russian government announced it was preparing to slash government
spending across the board over the next three years. Deep cuts are looming for health, education
and defence which is slated for a 27 per cent reduction in expenditure in 2017, according to a
draft budget that the government submitted to parliament. The government forecasted that gross
domestic product has dropped by 0.6 per cent in 2016, a third straight annual contraction. As part
of its plan to reduce Russia s fiscal deficit from 3.7 per cent of GDP this year to 1.2 per cent in

Moreover, most have families, and thus no fewer than 40,000 people are suffering as a result of

been the chronic deficiency in officers. In February 2017, the chief of the Main Directorate for
Personnel within the Russian Ministry of Defence, Colonel General Viktor Goremykin,
announced that, in 2016, the Armed forces found 11,000 officers for positions that otherwise
would have gone empty (Krasnaya Zvezda, February 5). In his words, the military used non
standard methods to fill these staffing gaps. Reserve officers who left the Armed Forces were

personnel in 2015, 15,000 troops previously dismissed had been returned to service (TASS

the United States otherwise known as the Hull House ( Settlement 1). It was located in a city

The Benefits Of Sun Exposure In The Sun
Everyone encounters sun exposure every day of their lives. This occurs in all parts of the
spectrum ranging from high levels of exposure to lower levels of exposure. The high end may
include going to the beach, playing in the park, or playing basketball with friends. The lower end
includes taking walking to the car, shopping at a strip mall, or going to the mailbox. Being
exposed to the sun can have many effects like tans, sunburns, and diseases. However, many people
are unaware of the benefits of sun exposure. This leads to the main question: How much sun is too
much sun? The average person should spend 5 30 minutes in the sun twice a week. This helps
increase vitamin Dlevels, decrease the chance of skin cancer, and reduce the risk of many diseases.
Being outside in the sun is better for a person s overall health and well being.
Spending time in the sun causes an increase in vitamin D levels. According to the Assistant
Professor at Touro University, Kim Pfotenhaur, wearing sunscreen prevents this vitamin gain.
Pfotenhaur states that sunscreen essentially nullifies the body s ability to produce vitamin D, (

Summary Of Drug Policy And The Public Good
Marijuana is the most popular and widey used illegal drug internationally. According to Room et al,
4 percent of the adult around the world population used marijuana(Room et al, 2011, pg.1). This
number represents much more than other illicit drugs used combined, including cocaine and other
extreme serious drugs. However, our global attention on drugproblems focus on the serious drugs
which is known to be very harmful, and destructive when the number of marijuana users are
consistently rising every year(Schelling, 2011).
Our current drug policies are definitely minimizing the negative effects caused by the

A New Product Line Of Cedar Dollhouses And The Ceo Of The...
Introduction The ABC Company is looking to add a new product line of cedar dollhouses and
the CEO of the company is trying to decide if it can be afforded. The purpose of this paper will be
to determine if the ABC Company can afford to add the new product line of cedar dollhouses. The
paper will discuss the cash flowof the business, riskfactors involved in adding a new product line,
and possible depreciation. Finally, the paper will recommend whether the CEO is making a worthy
business decision.
Risk Analysis First we will discuss the overall risk profile of the company based on current
economic and industry issues. The economic issues the company may face includes a potential
rise in raw materials. This could make it difficult to determine the cost of production for one
unit. Industry issues the company may face include developing the new product and employee
loss. The company has to develop the new product which is a trial and error process; the market
for this product may also be filled causing the product to fail. The company also plans to use the
same facility, equipment, and staff which will definitely mean added expenses and a risk of losing
employees.
Cash Flow Analysis A cash flow statement represents a compilation of all operating, investing, and
financing activities that cause a change in cash (Wainwright, 2012). The cash flow statement is
primarily used to get an idea of what the company s total financing and investing activities look

Literature Review On Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation
Literature Review
Introduction
Every day, men and women suffer from a stroke, when the arteries that bring blood to the brain are
clogged, essentially suffocating the brain. This then damages the brain, leaving the victim unable to
walk or speak properly. Oftentimes, these stroke patients can become hemiparetic, meaning that part
of their brain was damaged, and half of their body became disabled or unusable. However,
neuroscientists and physical therapists have developed a way to train the gait of these hemiparetic
stroke patients, allowing them to walk properly again, using Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation(Cha,
2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). As brain plasticity is damaged
severely during stroke, therapists must consider increasing the plasticity of the brain using
repetition, which RAS utilizes(Cesqui, 2017, Gloag, 1985, Habib, 2009, McIntosh,
2010,Särkämö, 2008, Schneider, 2010, Suh). Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation utilizes repetitive
rhythms in order to develop specific connections between the auditory and motor functions (Cha,
2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). The direct links between the
auditory and motor functions become critical in RAS, as the stimulation of the auditory functions
directly benefit the motor areas of the brain throughout RAS, benefiting gait in hemiparetic stroke
patients (Cha, 2013, Gloag, 1985,Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Morris, 2009, Särkämö, 2008,
Schneider, 2010, Suh, Thaut, 2010).

Differences Of The Protestant Church And The Roman...
During the Reformation, Martin Luther found problems within the Roman Catholic Church and
decided that he no longer desired to follow their ways. As a follower of Christ, he instead turned to
the Bible to rediscover truths that the Church had twisted. Now, because of Luther s then radical
ideology, we have two different bodies of Christ: the Protestant Church and the Roman Catholic
Church. Today, there are many differences between them concerning fundamental beliefs and how
the church should operate.
One difference between Protestants and Catholics is where they get their teachings from.
Protestants focus only on the Bible. They believe that it is the only source of information about
who God is and what He has done. They only use the Bible for the foundations of their faith and
for how to live out your faith in your daily life. From the Hebrew Bible of twenty four books,
Protestants made thirty nine books with the exact same information. The Catholic Bible includes
several more books that are derived from another Hebrew canon called the Septuagint. During the
Reformation, the Protestants decided that these books shouldn t be in the Christian Bible because
they aren t in the Hebrew Bible, but the Catholic Church disagreed. Secondly, Protestants differ
from Catholics because Christianity splits into many denominations, whereas Catholics have no
denominations. They are all one Church, under the Pope, sharing the same beliefs in every Catholic
church. Even though Protestants

A Native Conformation Of Protein And Aggregation Of Proteins
A native conformation of protein is only marginally stable than unfolded states, and most of
proteins are prone to aggregate in liquid state to form non native supra structures. The loss of
unique globular structures and aggregation of proteins are problematic in biopharmaceutical
formulations due to the reduction of therapeutic potency and the possibility of inducing undesired
immune responses[1]. For several decades, it has been pursued to develop formulation methods of
preserving the proteinstability. One of effective way to improve protein stability is mixing
cosolvents in protein water system[2, 3]. The present of excipient molecules such as salts,
carbohydrates, amino acids, and surfactants change the equilibrium of protein denaturation and
aggregation[4 10]. A great interest has been raised in understanding of the effects of excipients on
proteins in an effort to find ideal formulation recipes[11].
One of fundamental concept in addressing the impact of excipients on proteins is their preferential
interactions in the system[12 16]. The interactions of additives can be attractive or repellent to
proteins, resulting the concentration of cosolvents in the local domain near proteins differs from
that in the bulk solution. Such a discrete population of cosolvents influences the thermodynamic
properties of the protein inducing a significant change in conformational or colloidal stability. A key
parameter to quantify the preferential behavior of excipients is the

International Business Systems And Porter s Diamond Model
Porter s Diamond Model provides companies with four reliant factors that fully depend on the state
of each other to achieve success within a competitive environment. However, Curran (2001) claims
that Porter s Diamond Model does not fully explain a country s competitive advantage since only
two factors provide evidence of their competitive position. The used factors are company rivalry,
strategy, and factor endowments. With reference to the competitive positions of countries within
major economies, factor endowments comprising of land, capital, labor, advanced technology and
materials as stated in Porter s theory, a government is responsible for contributing toward a

Music And Its Effects On The Digital Age

Music Professor explores the social dynamic of taste shaming in the digital age.
In some form or another, we ve all been exposed to musical taste shaming.
If you re a fan of the Eagles, Rush, Drake, or god help your soul, are passionate about the music of
Nickelback, you ve certainly received your share of barbs. As agents in what many have coined as
the age of hipsterism, none of us are safe from the smug judgment of those who perceive their own
musical tastes as a cut above the rest of us rubes.
Of course, hipsterism is just another term for yet another age that mimics the same social and
cultural elitist behaviours that have been occurring for centuries. Pomposity has always existed
and generally speaking, it is a personality trait of someone who is lacking a degree of authentic
social awareness. I mean, surely we can agree that it s myopic to judge someone s character based

Matharu, Mishra, Singh, Upadhyay (2015, p. 1) state that, agile methods are characterized by
shorter development cycles, higher customer interaction, incremental delivery, frequent redesign
with accommodation of changes necessitated by dynamic user requirements. The Agarwal et al.
text explores three of the most popular agile methods, Scrum, Extreme Programming (EP), and
Kanban. All of these agile methods follow The Agile Manifesto (Beck, et al., 2001).
Scrum. Scrum manages the full SDLC in short iterations called sprints. Each sprint is a smaller,
full, SDLC. There are three very important roles within a scrum process, the scrum master,
development team, and product owner. Collaboration is at the center of this methodology. Scrum
attempts to utilize unique skills within the team to their maximum ability. Daily meetings are
called to review the status of the project and assign resources where they are needed. A product
and sprint backlog are maintained to provide insight on tasks, steps, and requirements to complete
and meet for the ongoing project. Through a series of sprints, the backlogs are completed in an

Cheesecake Factory Analysis
Theme Paper: The Anomaly that is The Cheesecake Factory The Cheesecake Factory is a name
that rings familiar across America. Ranked the #1 casual dining chain, The Cheesecake Factory s
affordable food and large portions appeal to the masses ( Consumer Picks 2016: Casual Dining
Results ). A vivid portrait of American capitalism, The CheesecakeFactory has transformed its
strange design concepts into an established theme, convinced its fans that its inexpensive style is
that of luxury, and coaxed its customers into thinking that its menu choices are a blessing, not an
inconvenience. It has twisted its incompetence into a competitive strategy a true deviant that still
manages to be at the top of the ratings. The Cheesecake Factoryis a true anomaly in the world no
other restaurant has pulled this concept off on such a large scale. The restaurant industry stands in
awe of the giant that has become The Cheesecake Factory.
The Cheesecake Factory, according to its CEO David Overton, has broken all the rules in order
to become successful ( 2017 Golden Chain Award Winner ). For example, their strategies go far
beyond Porter s understood and standardized theories of low cost versus differentiation (Porter,
1980, 35 and 41). The Cheesecake Factory manages to provide apparently luxurious food to its
customers for cheap, thereby both keeping its food low cost and differentiating their products.
Instead of relying on one strategy to become successful, The Cheesecake Factory has the best
combination of differentiators: its price and its quality. As a result, The Cheesecake Factory
benefits from having the best of both of Porter s strategies for competitive advantage, thereby
conferring upon itself a tremendous marketplace advantage (Hambrick and Fredrickson, 6).
This multiunit restaurant chain s style has a bizarre combination of ancient Egypt with Victorian
style architecture crossed with Las Vegas extravagance and giant leathery booths. The Cheesecake
Factory chain became successful immediately at its start, and thus the design budget allocated to
the future restaurants outweighed most normal restaurants of the same size. Regardless, this does
not explain the off putting amalgamation of themes that this restaurant

  • 2. Drafting A Proper Network Design Drafting a proper network design is a critical step in building a network infrastructure that provides top notch performance while at the same time minimizing the administrative workload. Network design should also accommodate potential future scalability issues, ensuring that the network can grow with the organization while minimizing disruption and downtime. The UMUC network design presented below presents a plan that includes these factors, along with infrastructure longevity and security. It is essential that the proper physical medium be deployed to ensure that the signals transported by the medium deliver a strong signal to all intended locations. However, the quality of the signal must be balanced with cost and regulatory considerations. So for the UMUC network, CAT6 UTP shall be installed (with the exception of one classroom and the Admissions office) because it costs less than either fiber optics or CAT6 STP (shielded twisted pair) and is capable of delivering gigabit speeds within 100 meters (nearly every location in the building). The Admissions office and classroom located on the floor above the Admissions office will connect into the network using fiber optics (62.5 micron multi mode fiber) because the distance to each room from the main IT closet will be just over 100 meters in length. Wireless media will implement the 802.11g/n standards with 802.11b disabled to prevent the network from dropping down to a slow 11 Mbps if legacy systems were to connect to ... From the time I was a little girl watching the Batman movies, I have always supported the idea of a vigilante. To me, seeing Batman deliver justice on criminals had always been very exciting. As I grow older and wiser I ve developed more of an understanding of the corruption that does destroy our justice system which makes me support vigilantism even more. Though real life isn t quite as dramatic as the Batmanmovies, I like the idea of a masked vigilante protecting those who cannot protect themselves. • 4. Differences And Similarities Between Lennon And Cobain INTRODUCTION Everybody loves you when you re six feet in the ground, was once said by John Lennon. The finest day I ever had was when tomorrow never came, Kurt. Though they died in the midst of their career, John Lennon and Kurt Cobain amazed people with their successes, obstacles, music. John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England ( John 1). At the time, World War II was going on (Burlingame, John Lennon : Imagine14). His parents, Alfred Alf Lennon and Julia Lennon divorced when he was a child (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 21) and he had to move in with his aunt and uncle (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 25). In elementary school, he played guitar and harmonica, always enjoying music (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 32). The first song he ever learned was That ll be the Day by Buddy Holly (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 33). As music took over his life, John got distracted and his aunt told him that he could not make a living by playing guitar (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 36). When John was teenager, he started writing and composing music (Canale 1) as well as drawing and writing books. He wrote two books, In His Own Write and A Spaniard in the Works (Watson 2). Similarly to Lennon, another musician got their inspiration at a young age. Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20, 1967 in Aberdeen, Washington to Wendy and Don Cobain (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 11). He came from a musical family and was introduced to music at an early age. When he was three years old, he wrote his first song, Corn on the Cops. When he started playing guitar, he held it backwards because he was left handed, and played popular Beatles songs like Hey Jude (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 12). He was fourteen years old when he received his first electric guitar (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 18). Like John, Kurt was involved with the visual arts and enjoyed drawing, whittling, and painting (Burlingame, Kurt Cobain: Oh Well... 13). The two musicians background allowed them to prosper in the future. In 1956, John Lennon formed his first band, The Quarrymen, who had their first concert in 1959 (Burlingame, John Lennon: Imagine 38). Later, in 1960, the band ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The level of organisational learning required by an organisation will be dependent on its own distinctive characteristics and considering the type of organisation and its operating environment, it may not always be beneficial for an organisation to be a learning organisation (Hartel et al. 2006: 292). The concept of the learning organisation gained wide acceptance from the works of Peter Senge who is most well known for his body of work entailed The Fifth Discipline. Here, Senge (1990: 3) introduces the notion of systems thinking and defines a learning organisation as one where people continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are continually learning to see the whole together . However, the concept of systems thinking has been around since the 1950 s but it was not until Senge s writings that it gained popularity and momentum. Introduction Does the relationship between the percent of state legislators who are women influence the policies and laws that are passed in states? And, if so, what are the important areas that women exert greater influence over? Is it abortion laws? Religiosity? Unemployment rates? These are the questions that I will seek to answer throughout this research paper. Specifically, there will be two main objectives: whether or not certain attributes of a state constituency contribute negatively or positively in regards to the amount of seats held by women, and, if these attributes do impact in a positive or negative manner, how big of an impact, once elected, do these women exert power on a variety of issues. I believe that not only would it be interesting to find out whether or not certain variables determine a states legislature gender make up, but I think it is also important to know how big of an impact, if there is an impact at all, that women legislatures have across a variety of issues and how their views on these issues impact policy making decisions. People who think of an ideal marriage would think of two people loving each other and sharing a personal bond or goals together. Marriage is usually defined as the legally or formally recognized union of two lovers as partners in a personal relationship. This suggests there is an actual connection between two people in marriage, but do people actually consider this when committing to loveand support their partners forever? As research and studies have shown, people ultimately get married for the incorrect reasons, in which love is not included or even a part of. This philosophy can be easily applied to the short poem, Marriage by Gregory Corso. In this emotional poem, the author argues marriage is more effectively understood or known for culture and convenience rather than through the abstract considerations of love. Corso finds himself confused multiple times, wondering if he should marry to not be lonely, for tradition and for his physical and mental health. He disregards love, a relationship or a connection with his future wife. The author ponders the decision weighing the options. Skorton (2013) documented that an online course has the potential to transform higher educations with substantial benefits for students, their eventual employers, and participating communities. Therefore, evaluation of learning environments indicates a real measure of the effectiveness of what is learned. However, the same is true for most, if not all cases those who make the mistakelearn from it. Often times, our failures teach us valuable lessons that we only gained because of the experience we gathered after messing up. I have personally achieved a wealth of knowledge and experience just from all of my own little mishaps, and a few major ones. One instance of a failure that taught me well was when I tried to find a quick solution for boiling eggs. I was so tired of what I considered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another turbulent time that taught me through failure was when I tried to arrange a birthday party for my sister. Everything was supposed to be arranged by me, so I went out a bought the invitation cards, party favors, balloons, decorations, food, and a few gifts. I filled out the invitations early and put them in a box to store them until I was ready to send them. Time flew by fast between daily life with my kids and responsibilities, and before I knew it the day of the party was upon me. Quickly that morning I decorated and cooked and prepared everything. As the hour of the party came and went, no one showed up but the birthday girl, whom I had called personally. Later it occurred to me that I hadn t sent out the invitations! That was why no one had come. I soon learned from that mistake to be more organized and manage my time better when planning events. Yet another example of a failure that became instructive was when I tried to tilemy bathroom floor. I simply did not want to dish out the big bucks to have a worker do my tiling, which I assumed would be an easy job. I bought the necessary items and dove into the project with an eager do it yourself attitude and absolutely no clue about what I was doing. Dhcp, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ( Dhcp ) DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), allows a computer to join a network without a statically assigned Internet Protocol (IP) address (Mitchell, n.d., para 1). With DHCP a device can be assigned a unique IP address, as it joins the network (Mitchell, n.d., para 1). DHCP is done on a server, and parameters are set on the pool of IP addresses that can be assigned (Mitchell, n.d., para 4). In Server 2012 there are options to allow for fault tolerance for DHCP. The three options available including, a failover cluster, setting up a split scope DHCP, and a DHCP failover (De Clercq, 2014). It is recommended that Kris Corporation uses fault tolerance for DHCP. The recommended method of fault tolerance is DHCP failover, which is new in Server 2012. This option can replicate a complete DHCP scope to another DHCP server (De Clercq, 2014). When configuring there is an option to use a hot standby or to do load sharing (De Clercq, 2014). Hot standby uses one server as the active DHCP server, the second server is only used if the first DHCP server is not available (De Clercq, 2014). Load sharing uses both DHCP server at the same time, and the request are shared between the two servers (De Clercq, 2014). Load sharing is the default option, and the recommended option for Kris Corporation. Kris Corporation is interested in tracking IP addresses of all of the devices on the network. • 23. Social Labeling Theory Essay Labeling theory emerged during the mid 1960s and into the early 1970s due to the United States experiencing a rapid social change caused by economic and political conflict. Labeling theory focuses on the role social labeling has on the development of crime and deviance. The theory stresses how an individual who has been labeled as deviant from societal norms might initiate them to continue their involvement in crimeand deviance. Deviant behavior can be defined as conduct that is disapproved by the public and is typically subject to some form of sanction. In simpler terms, deviant behavior is socially constructed. The roots of labeling theory can be traced back as early as 1902 to Cooley s looking glass theory on the self, which simply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This concept referred to formal sanctions. It defined the youth s behavior as evil and extended to the individual involved, characterizing him or her as evil too (Johannes Knutsson, 1977). Mead was an innovator of symbolic interactionism and believed an individual s self awareness was created through interaction with their environment. Theorist Edwin Lemert further developed this idea by explaining how labeling affects criminality and recidivism among those who are categorized as deviant. His theoretical approach distinguishes between primary and secondary deviance. Primary deviance referred to individuals who commit nonviolent behaviors, sometimes referred to as rule breakers. It should be noted that an individual does not reach this level of primary deviance unless they are caught and labeled. When an individual is stigmatized and treated as deviant, they began to identity themselves with groups who also labeled, resulting in them adjusting their behavior to fit this identity as deviant. For Lemert, secondary deviance exists when an individual chooses to accept and employ to their deviant status, committing more frequently and more violent crimes. However, criminologists began to ... • 33. Literature Review On Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation Literature Review Introduction Every day, men and women suffer from a stroke, when the arteries that bring blood to the brain are clogged, essentially suffocating the brain. This then damages the brain, leaving the victim unable to walk or speak properly. Oftentimes, these stroke patients can become hemiparetic, meaning that part of their brain was damaged, and half of their body became disabled or unusable. However, neuroscientists and physical therapists have developed a way to train the gait of these hemiparetic stroke patients, allowing them to walk properly again, using Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation(Cha, 2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). As brain plasticity is damaged severely during stroke, therapists must consider increasing the plasticity of the brain using repetition, which RAS utilizes(Cesqui, 2017, Gloag, 1985, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010,SГ¤rkГ¤mГ¶, 2008, Schneider, 2010, Suh). Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation utilizes repetitive rhythms in order to develop specific connections between the auditory and motor functions (Cha, 2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). The direct links between the auditory and motor functions become critical in RAS, as the stimulation of the auditory functions directly benefit the motor areas of the brain throughout RAS, benefiting gait in hemiparetic stroke patients (Cha, 2013, Gloag, 1985,Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Morris, 2009, SГ¤rkГ¤mГ¶, 2008, Schneider, 2010, Suh, Thaut, 2010). ... During the Reformation, Martin Luther found problems within the Roman Catholic Church and decided that he no longer desired to follow their ways. As a follower of Christ, he instead turned to the Bible to rediscover truths that the Church had twisted. Now, because of Luther s then radical ideology, we have two different bodies of Christ: the Protestant Church and the Roman Catholic Church. Today, there are many differences between them concerning fundamental beliefs and how the church should operate. One difference between Protestants and Catholics is where they get their teachings from. Protestants focus only on the Bible. They believe that it is the only source of information about who God is and what He has done. They only use the Bible for the foundations of their faith and for how to live out your faith in your daily life. From the Hebrew Bible of twenty four books, Protestants made thirty nine books with the exact same information. The Catholic Bible includes several more books that are derived from another Hebrew canon called the Septuagint. During the Reformation, the Protestants decided that these books shouldn t be in the Christian Bible because they aren t in the Hebrew Bible, but the Catholic Church disagreed. Secondly, Protestants differ from Catholics because Christianity splits into many denominations, whereas Catholics have no denominations. A Native Conformation Of Protein And Aggregation Of Proteins A native conformation of protein is only marginally stable than unfolded states, and most of proteins are prone to aggregate in liquid state to form non native supra structures. The loss of unique globular structures and aggregation of proteins are problematic in biopharmaceutical formulations due to the reduction of therapeutic potency and the possibility of inducing undesired immune responses[1]. For several decades, it has been pursued to develop formulation methods of preserving the proteinstability. One of effective way to improve protein stability is mixing cosolvents in protein water system[2, 3]. The present of excipient molecules such as salts, carbohydrates, amino acids, and surfactants change the equilibrium of protein denaturation and aggregation[4 10]. A great interest has been raised in understanding of the effects of excipients on proteins in an effort to find ideal formulation recipes[11]. One of fundamental concept in addressing the impact of excipients on proteins is their preferential interactions in the system[12 16]. The interactions of additives can be attractive or repellent to proteins, resulting the concentration of cosolvents in the local domain near proteins differs from that in the bulk solution. Such a discrete population of cosolvents influences the thermodynamic properties of the protein inducing a significant change in conformational or colloidal stability.
