Police Crime Analysis Essay
Police Crime Data Management Reporting: Software/user licenses needed for crime analysis by the
Morrisville Police Department (MPD). Data driven/predictive policing is an integral component in
crime prevention and reduction. Currently, MPD lacks the necessary software to effectively identiy

mapping for targeted preventive and enforcement activities and enable our residents to track crime
within their communities.

Nursing Self Regulation Essay
A profession can be defined as a prestigious occupation with a high degree of identification among its
member that requires a length and rigorous education in an intellectually demanding and theoretically
based course of study; that engages in rigorous self regulation and control; that holds authority over
clients; and that puts service to society above simple self interest (Schwirian, 1998, p. 6). Nursing is
just that, and with its specific body of knowledge, standards, and codes of ethics, it is only fitting that
it be self regulated (College of Nurses of Ontario, 2012). The College of Nurses works with registered
nurses, registered practical nurses, and nurse practioners to determine whether or not standards and
best practices are met and that the public s safety is protected.
Specific Knowledge
Self regulation is the idea of a professional group entering an agreement with the government to
regulate their activities of their members (Canadian Nurses Association, 2007). This allows the
government to have a small role in the control over the practice of the profession and the services that
the members provide, but they do not have to gain in depth expertise to regulate the profession that
would be needed if it were under direct regulation. Self regulation acknowledges that the profession is
able to regulate its members because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

putting the interests of the public before their own. By establishing a number of requirements for entry

Ancient German Rockets Origin
The first known use of rockets was circa 1232 A.D. when the Chinese and the Mongols were at war
with each other. These rockets were not used as aircraft or transportation but as weapons for warfare.
The rockets used weren t even the rockets we know and consider rockets today, but instead were tinier
combustible rockets attached to arrows used to propel the arrows to go farther to which they were
attached. The chinese were responsible for the creation of these arrow rockets and throughout the 13th
15th centuries the rockets being used increased in size and technology and spread throughout Europe.
This was due to the fact the Mongols invaded Eastern Europe and created rockets of their own
following their disagreements with the Chinese. Following the spread of this technology, a monk in
England by the name of Roger Bacon researched rockets and what could make them go farther. He
used different types of gunpowder during these experiments. While Bacon was working on ... Show

some historians claim there are old legends about the ancient chinese empire using rockets as means
of transportation. An official named Wan Hu during the 16th century supposedly made a Flying chair

rockets were ignited that a huge cloud of smoke appeared and when the smoke cleared Wan Hu was

were meant to eventually explode as they were technically weapons. However there is possibility Wan

Dreams float on an impatient wind, A wind that wants to create a new order. An order of strength and

Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is the undisputed father of India s missile program. He has breathed life into
ballistic missiles like the Agni and Prithvi, which put China and Pakistan well under India s missile
range. It is too exhausting to track Dr Abdul Kalam s achievements to date. In the 60s and 70s he was
a trail blazer in the space department. In the 80s he transformed the moribund Defence Research and

After that, he undertook a preliminary design study on Human Centrifuge. He designed and developed
a vertical takeoff and landing platform, and Hot Cockpit. Three years later, the Aeronautical
Development Establishment(ADE) was formed in Bangalore and he was posted there.
At ADE, Kalam served as a senior scientific assistant, heading a small team that developed a
prototype hovercraft. Defence Minister Krishna Menon rode in India s first indigenous hovercraft with
Kalam at the controls. But for reasons never explained, the project which would have been a
considerable international achievement in those days, was not encouraged. This was probably one of
the reasons why he moved out of ADE in 1962 and joined India s space program.
During 1963 82, he served the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) in various capacities. Here
Kalam initiated Fibre Reinforced Plastics(FRP) activities, then after a stint with the aerodynamics and
design group, he joined the satellite launch vehicle team at Thumba, near Trivandram and soon
became Project Director for SLV 3. As Project Director, he was responsible for carrying out the
design, development, qualification and flight testing of 44 major sub systems. The project managed to

A pediatrician should be able to take any problem and analyze it and think of different ways to solve
it. You should be a pretty social person, you re going to talk and interact with many different people
on a daily you don t want to come off uncertain or rude, it wouldn t make parents want to bring their
child to you. You should remember that you are working with children, who can be a little more
dramatic and emotional than an adult, compassion would be a good quality to have. You need to be

Difference Between Private And Private Sector
Introduction :
The most basic distinction between public and private organizations is that the political community
own public agencies whereas ownership of private organizations belongs to entrepreneurs or
shareholders.
However, there are many other differences between public and private organizations. The funding for
public agencies derives mostly from taxation, which contrasts with private agencies receiving funds
predominately from consumers in the form of fees. In the public sector, organizations are largely
controlled by political forces, which also results in the imposition of constraints by the political
system. Subjection to constraint results in frequent changes in policies within public organizations.
The owners and shareholders of private organizations have a direct incentive to monitor the behaviour
of managers to promote better performance and financial gain.
Summary
The development of the private sector and its expansion in all spheres of society increasingly
emphasizes the attempts to alleviate the differences between the public sector and the private sector.
The collaboration of these two areas demonstrates their interdependence and their role in the overall
functioning of the national economy and of society as a whole.
The widespread use of private sector methods and theories on organizing the management process
points to the fact that private sector ideas can be transferred and can be used in the field of civil
service. It is believed that through

I Was A Long Term Venture
Have you ever felt there must be something more? Something past simply existing? Searching for who

Don t let fear consume you. My shyness and anxiety got in the way from joining what I aspired to do,

Matt 13:3 He told them many things in parables.
13:10 Why do you talk to them in parables?
That s the crucial question: Did God, should God, have intended direct and final communication with
us? If so, Jesus certainly failed his mission. There is little evidence that Jesus appearance cleared
anything up or gave us God directly. Wittgenstein, who wanted our language to be clear, knows well
enough that neither the Hebrew nor the Christian God s words could fall within his constructed

Heaven obviously contains no single, authorized publishing house. And what is now printed in many
instances existed first in oral tradition, that notoriously changeable and often obscure medium. Some
divine czar of communication should have allowed into written form only the authorized versions,
with clear Wittgensteinian definition of all terms. Any authoritarian dictator, bent on preventing
discord, could have done a better job, if put in charge of the divinities printing house. Thus, as the
source of a clear, single, religious creed, all sacred texts are failures. They were too loosely compiled.
Our divinities either need a course in exposition and writing or they never intended to offer us a clear
text in the first place. In God s name, why not? For Heaven s sake, didn t they realize what confusion
would result from their laxity? Wasn t it Nietzsche who remarked: Isn t it strange that, when God
decided to turn author, he should have learned to speak Greek? We have the biblical story of the Tower
of Babel, which explains how we came to have so many obscure and divergent languages. But surely
the heavenly U.N. Security Council could have elected to authorize, and to allow us to speak, only one
language, putting all the rest of our vague tongues to shame.

Sylvia Earle was born on August 30, 1935 in Gibbstown, New Jersey. She was raised by her parents
on a small farm near Camden. When Sylvia was younger she enjoyed exploring the woods that was
nearby her home. She was very fascinated with the creatures and plants that lived in the wild. Sylvia s
parents loved nature as much as Sylvia does. They taught her to respect the creatures of the wildlife
and that she shouldn t be afraid of the unknown. When Sylvia was thirteen, she moved to Florida,
which is on the Gulf of Mexico. Soon Sylvia became very interested learning about the wildlife in the

European Population Trends In The 19th Century
European demographic trends in the eighteenth and nineteenth centu ry thoroughly diverged from the
demographic trend of the periods leading up to this timeline. Unlike the demographic trend of
preceding periods, where a rise in real income would lead to a rise in fertility and consequently in
mortality, the trend of these two centuries were marked by disparate swings as a result of several
occurrences. Population growth in Europe re mained relatively stable in the beginning of the

The rise of literacy paved the path to economic devel opment. During this period, the association
between formal education and economic growth strengthened. As economies developed and became
wealth ier and less rural, science and engineering became more essential. The transition to small
families was in part because of economic development. Real wages rose because of specialisation due
to the Industrial Revolution. The expansion of public education put an end to child labour. Wealthy par

Overpopulation Is A Global Catastrophe
Naturally, as our population grows in size our growth rate increases exponentially. As a result, we face
the issue of overpopulation, one of the many dangerous trends discussed in Anthony Barnosky and
Elizabeth Hadly s Tipping Point for Planet Earth. Currently, if we do not make any changes, it is
expected that we will reach a population size over twenty seven billion people by the year 2100.
Along with this massive increase in population size, we will also face a rise in food and water
shortages, an increase in population density, and an overall loss of quality of life. In order to prevent
these potential effects, Barnosky and Hadly suggested three possible solutions to combating
overpopulation a global catastrophe, a one child policy, or an increase in education, job, and
contraception availability among girls. Any one of these solutions will potentially help us prevent
overpopulation; however, exactly which solution it ends up being all depends on our preparation and
the actions we take now. Ideally, we would like to avoid a global catastrophe that would decimate the
population. But, if we are unable to lower our growth rate another world war, or something like a
pandemic could occur. While no correlation between population density and nation level conflict has
been made, the connection between overcrowding and increased internal conflict has been (Tir 1998).
Thus, it would be preferable to take advantage of the other solutions like the one child policy that

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) growth has meant new opportunities for Canadian
suppliers and has helped create new jobs across Canada. For example to support the launch of the first
Lexus built outside Japan, there have been new suppliers, built plants in communities as well as the
expansion of the suppliers base already there before TMMC moved into Canada. Additionally because
of the lower Canadian dollar compared to the US Dollar, Canadian plants have shown two areas of
high performance, which are quality and high productivity with the third point being cost
competiveness in the corporate income tax rate.
Additionally flexibility, which is very important to Toyota?s Total Production (TPS), does not change
volume by changing of plant layout but increases flexibility in overtime working and general
manpower. This flexibility gives employees the ability to work about 48 hours a week if needed to
meet demands of customers, (Smith, 2005).

The group determined that there are factors beyond its control such as material cost and labor, location

King Richard II And Henry V
Many English monarchs believed in the divine right to rule. This right was given to them by God,
therefore they believed that no one could take their crown or it would destroy the rightful line of
succession. However, this was not always the case and some kings such as Richard II had their crown
forced from them. If a king believed in the divine right he often had a close relationship with God. In
William Shakespeare s comedies, the divine right to rule a kingdom is present in the ways in which
Richard II, Henry IV, and Henry V are come to rule England. Both Richard II and Henry V were
powerful rulers, whose ruling was heavily dictated by their divine right to rule and their relationship
with God. Through exploring the King s relationship to God in Shakespeare s tragedies Richard II, 1
Henry IV, 2 Henry IV, and Henry V, one can see that Henry V is the ideal Christian King. In
Shakespeare s history play Richard II, King Richard II s relationship with God can be explored
throughout the play as he gives up his crown. Richard II is easily seen as weak, making some think
that he is not fit for the role of king. He does not listen to his advisors and takes money from the
nobles. These actions lead Henry Bolingbroke to take the crown. Richard II does not put up much of a
fight as he willingly hands the crown over to Bolingbroke, but he does prolong the process as he
dramatically hands his crown and scepter over. Richard II even speaks out about his power that was
given to him:

Is Lady Macbeth To Blame
Have you ever been tempted to do something that you knew was morally wrong. This happens a lot in
life, but some cases are more serious than others. Sometimes, the people who a person loves love and
trust the most could tempt a person to do terrible things. Macbeth , written by William Shakespeare, is
a play that recognizes that this is possible, even to people who were a good hearted person, in this case
Macbeth. The character who is the most responsible for the downfall of Macbeth is Lady Macbeth
because she constantly taunted and tempted Macbeth to murder King Duncan. Many people believe
that Lady Macbeth was tricked by the Devil to tempt Macbeth to murder Duncan, and they then

When Macbeth was trying to stop things from going too far Lady Macbeth decides to taunt him. But
screw your courage to the sticking place [a]nd we ll not fail (1.7.70 71). During this discussion Lady
Macbeth basically calls Macbeth a coward and that if he follows her plan they will succeed. That was
a major reason for Macbeth actually deciding to murder action. Also Lady Macbeth tries to make him
seem like a traitor when he backs out of the plan, which is the starting point for Macbeth s downfall.
William Shakespeare tries to show readers that even though Macbeth was evil as king, he is not
entirely at fault for becoming filled with greed and anger. Even though people control their own
actions they can be tempted to do wrong things due to peer pressure. Although some can just blame
Macbeth, we need to remind ourselves that Macbeth wasn t going to kill Duncan, until Lady Macbeth
persuaded him to. Even if it was mostly Macbeth s fault for not controlling his actions, Macbeth
reminds us that when more than one person are involved with an action of evil, there is never just one

Transition Mechanism Of The Internet Protocol Essay
Transition mechanism is a technology that facilitates the transitioning of the Internet from the Internet
Protocol version 4 (IPv4) infrastructure
Mechanism to allow a smooth transition to the new version of the IP protocol, without the need for an
abrupt change. With this idea in mind, several of these mechanisms were created in order to facilitate
the coexistence of both versions.
During the early stages of IPv6 deployment it was believed that adoption of the new protocol would
be quick enough and that IPv6 would have gained widespread adoption before IPv4 ran out. This,
however, did not happen which is why transition mechanisms are an even more relevant topic today.
Transition mechanisms can be classified according to the different techniques they apply:
Dual stack
Tunneling
Translation
It is also possible to classify the different mechanisms based on whether they assume that the
underlying infrastructure is predominantly IPv4 or IPv6. Although in the beginning there were IPv4
networks that started gradually adding IPv6 access, as IPv4 ran out, providers started considering the
deployment of IPv6 only networks. This means that transition mechanisms are needed to allow
customers in these IPv6 only networks to access networks that still only support IPv4. Many
mechanisms have been proposed and more are currently being discussed in the IETF. The following is
a description of the most widely deployed and more mature mechanisms.
An IP address consists of 32 bits. Instead of

Spanking
Spanking has been a culturally accepted form of punishment for children between the ages of one to
five until recently due to belief that it may cause more aggressive behavior. Parents have turned to a
warmth parenting style, which includes affection, comfort, concern, nurturance, support, and good old
fashioned love (Lee, Altschul, and Gershoff, p. #2018) . In this study, reseachers look at whether
spanking has a negative impact on children s development, and if they develop aggressive behaviors.
Two questions remain: Are spanking and maternal warmth independently associated with changes in
child aggression over time? And does maternal warmth moderate the extent to which increases in
maternal spanking predict increases in child aggression over time (Lee, ... Show more content on

During these interviews, the mothers were asked various questions regarding how their children
behaved and how they reacted. Parent child interactions were also observed and then rated on seven
items that the observer considered warm feelings . The child s aggressive behavior was then assessed
using a checklist, as well observed home visits. Researches then asked participants various questions
regarding alcohol consumption, depression, intimate partner aggression, as well as child
characteristics. As a result of the experiment, researchers found that children tended to be more
aggressive when punished with spanking. Mothers who spanked their children at age one usually saw
more aggressive behaviors at age three. However, spanking became unrelated towards maternal
affection towards their children by the time their children were between the ages of three and five.
Regardless of mother s warmth, greater use of spanking is associated with increases in maternal
spanking from ages three to five (Lee, Altschul, and Gershoff p.

From Living on the Prairie to Designing Prairie Style...
From Living on the Prairie, to designing Prairie Style Houses When people think prairie style, they
associate it with Frank Lloyd Wright. But why? Frank Lloyd Wright was a famous 19th and 20th
century architect that shaped the style of houses, as we know them today. Although he grew up in a
small town, it didn t hold him back as a successful man. Frank Lloyd Wright is, and will continue to
be, the world s best architect because from the time he was little, to the times he traveled across the
world, he found inspiration in nature all around him. Growing up, Frank Lloyd Wright was inspired
very easily. He was born on June 8th, 1867 in Richland Center, Wisconsin, to the proud parents of
Anna Lloyd Jones and William Carey Wright. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He worked with two companies, before he was hired by Adler and Sullivan. Adler and Sullivan had
started off as two separate architects, but in 1880 they joined forces and created their own firm. Frank
Lloyd Wright signed a six year contract with Adler and Sullivan, as one of their apprentices. Frank
was finally getting back on his feet again.
Frank Lloyd Wright started putting pieces of his life together at this point. He was a man that knew
exactly what he wanted, and how to get to that goal. In 1889, Frank Lloyd Wright married Catherine
Lee Tobin (Rubin, 1994). Tobin and Wright met while he was working for Adler and Sullivan, causing
Anna to object. Frank Lloyd Wright signed a five year contract in return for all of the supplies he
needed. Shortly after negotiating the contract, he bought a lot in Oak Park, Illinois, where he built his
first house. His house reflected the subtleness of prairie style. His house consisted of east coast
shingles, roof gable, and geometric shapes. In this house he raised six children; John Lloyd Wright,
Lloyd Wright, Catherine Baxter, Svetlana Milanoff, Iovanna Wright, David Wright, Catherine Wright,
and Frances Wright. Frank Lloyd Wright saw prices rising, so he decided to accept private residential
commission in Oak Park. When Sullivan found out in 1893, he charged him for breaking the contract.
Wright s first commission was William H. Winslow. Frank added very few aspects of the prairie into

Hmax Model Paper
Final Project: Research about HMAX model
Seok Hee Lee
Abstract In this paper, I investigated some of the models of computational neuroscience used in the
face recognition field. The model to be discussed is HMAX model. The paper contains what HMAX
model is, how it is derived in terms of biological background, and how it is being used for facial
recognition. Also, I simulated the simplified version of the model in MATLAB. The simulation of the
simplified version verified one cell in the highest hierarchy covers the entire retinal space of the given
image. INTRODUCTION First of all, I looked into the paper written by Riesenhuber and how HMAX
model is derived from a biological concept of a visual cortex. It begins with the power of cells found
in macaque inferotemporal cortex (IT). The cells in IT are considered as essential cells for recognizing
an object and IT is the highest area in the ventral visual stream. They are tuned to views of
complicated objects, for instance a face of human. Their response remains almost the same when scale
or position of an object changes, and it is one of the characteristic of these cells. This raises a question:
how can these cells distinguish similar faces? In the other words, this paper talks what mechanism
these cells use to respond differently from the similar inputs. This question is related to the model
proposed by Hubel and Wiesel. In this model, simple cells with neighboring receptive fields feed into
higher hierarchy cell and this

Henequen Wheat Complex Analysis
Walking along the aisles of a local home improvement store or even farm, many would not think or
even be aware of twine s vast history in shaping the world around us. However, to a historian much is
known about this commodity and its relation to the henequen wheat complex as well as its effects on
sustainability, economics, and society in both North America and Mexico as described in Sterling
Evan s novel, Bound in Twine. Not only did the henequen wheat complex itself play a significant role
in influencing many aspects within the two regions, but it had numerous benefits and disadvantages
that ultimately changed the history and lives of many affected by its development, particularly those in
Yucatan.

With the increased desire to produce larger amounts on henequen in the Yucatan to support its
monocrop economy, the complex consequently permanently altered the landscape and overall
environment of the state. As mentioned previously, prior to the development of the henequen complex,
the area could be described as a varied landscape on the remarkably flat Yucatan terrain. However, the
Yucatan later bear more resemblance to a patchwork of haciendas, so much so that with the boom in
henequen at the end of the century, haciendas and even the much venerated cattle ranches were
converted to plantations. Thus, the henequen wheat complex played a significant role in permanently
transforming the once diverse ecosystem of the Yucatan into a uniform landscape solely dedicated to
the harvesting of one crop, the henequen. In addition to these environmental alterations, this complex
as well as the established monocrop economy introduced deforestation and subsequent erosion that
would ultimately cause the ecological improvishment of the henequen zone in which it was
economically benefiting from. However, to others the henequen wheat complex can be considered a
sustainable model since after the severe decline of henequen production following the 1980 s, Yucatan
experienced much ecological improvement. Remarkably,

Relation Between Islamic Spirituality And Sufism Beyond...
Relation between Islamic spirituality and Sufism beyond ordinary understanding. The concept of
Sufism in Islam is a Muslim who believes in Allah and seeks Allah and spent all life in truth.
Following Islam, loving Allah, and seeking direct experience of Allah. Islamic civilization was
flourishing and rising exponentially with the Sufi philosophy in Islam the spread of Sufism has been
considered a fixated factor in the spread of Islam and in the creation of rich Islamic society especially
in Africa and Asia. Between the 13th and 16th century, Sufism was on the rise and became a widely
respected practice and many famous scholars and spiritual masters were educated during this period.
They practiced the Tasawwuf, purification of heart, self discipline, and they guided and teaches people
the discipline of Fiqh and moral lives, and by the end of the 13th century Sufism became a school of
thought and a science of spiritual awakening. Sufism or Tasawwuf is the spiritual path towards Allah
by following the truth and turning the heart away from all else but Allah. Maulana Ashraf Ali
Thanawi, wrote in his book Sufi Study of Hadith, Tasawwuf is a name for the development of the
inner and outer aspects of the individual, and there is not a single Quranic verse or hadith text which is
not in some way related to it (Name, page #). Famous Sufis such as Ali Hujwiri claims that the Sufism

Most Americans like their doctors, while others are on the fence with their opinions of different
medical professionals. There are several surveys that show the majority being completely or very
satisfied, which still doesn t answer the real question. Why don t Americans like doctors? In that same
survey, people were asked whether all things considered, doctors in the U.S. can be trusted ,
Americans showed much more concern than citizens of most other countries (Ubel, 2014). These
results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine by Robert Blendon and colleagues,

Stuff Is Not Salvation Essay
I have really enjoyed being in this English class. Just like the warning we got in the very beginning,
there has been a lot of writing. It was good for me though. I took English 101 over the summer, but
found I had quite a bit of writer s block. It was hard for me to get any kind of energy to write. I found
that interesting because I feel like I like writing is something that is enjoyable to me. With this class,
the activities put forth, meant to help us get the writing gears moving, really worked for me. The first
way we got a jump start was through the article summary assignments based on articles pertaining to
contemporary culture. In all honesty, some of them did cause me to look at things with eyes I had not
used before. One article in particular that sticks out in my mind, is Stuff is Not Salvation, by Anna
Quindlen. Through her use of Ethos, she really brings to light how Americans have this ridiculous
obsession with buying stuff. She notes how we are trying to use junk to make ourselves happier, but in
the end, as Anna puts it, The happiest families I know aren t the ones with the most square footage
(Qtd in Perspectives pg 503). Before reviewing this article, I considered myself someone who didn t
necessarily NEED stuff, but as the assignment went on, I realized how bad it really has gotten for us
as a society. Another article that really made me think was the argumentative article, In Defense of
Sweatshops, by Benjamin Powell. When I first read the title of

Essay about Deaf Again
Book Report on Deaf Again The book, Deaf Again, written by Mark Drolsbaugh, is an autobiography
telling his life story which starts with a young boy growing up who goes through the process of losing
his hearing and then, as he gets older, he struggles with trying to fit in as a normal child. When Mark
was very young, he could hear fairly well then gradually he went hard of hearing until he eventually
went completely deaf. Even though he had two deaf parents, the doctors advised speech therapy and
hearing aids because they did not understand Deaf Culture and they thought that Mark would be a lot
happier if he could hang on to his hearing persona. Throughout the rest of the book, Mark goes

Mark s grandfather tested him by saying a sentence and seeing if he could repeat it, which he could,
then his grandfather would cover his mouth and repeat the same sentence, but this time Mark had no
idea what his grandfather was saying. Mark came to the realization that all along he had been reading
people s lips and he never even knew it. After this discovery, Mark s grandfather took him to all kinds
of doctors trying to find a solution to his hearing loss; a solution that would never come. The doctors
told the family, including Mark s deaf parents, not to use ASL in his presence and they would try to
force him to hear. He went through all sorts of surgeries where the doctors tried to put tubes in his ears
and he was also fitted with all different kinds of hearing aides. None of these solutions were the right
ones because Mark still wasn t able to hear. Mark was always forced into situations where everyone
would be talking in group conversations and having a good, old time while he just sat there pretending
like he knew what was going on. For half of his life, this kind of thing happened constantly where
Mark would have to act like something he is not. A year or so after Mark was diagnosed, it was
obvious that Mark could not survive at Houston School so his grandfather looked around for the best
and discovered Plymouth Meeting Friends School (PMFS). Mark was afraid that everyone would
judge him at a new school, but he was

Administrative controls are to ensure people understand and follow the policies and procedures.
Preventative controls try to stop threats from trying to use a vulnerability to gain access to the network
or computers. Detective controls identity a threat that has hit the network and computers and
corrective controls reduces the effects of a threat on the system. The most common malicious attack
and threat are from viruses and other malware. There are different types of viruses to protect a
network and computers from and viruses can get into the network in different ways, mostly by email
and websites on the internet. The best strategy for dealing with the risk for viruses and other malware
would be risk mitigation. Viruses and other malware cannot be avoided or transferred to another
business since our computers and network is here in the business for people to utilize. Viruses are also
not an acceptable risk, the damages from viruses will outweigh the money spent to protect the network
and computers. For these reasons, the strategies of risk assignment, risk acceptance, and risk
avoidance are not appropriate to use to mitigate the risk. Antivirus software can be purchased and
placed on the computers to help prevent viruses infections would be cheaper than money spent on the
time techs to remove viruses from all systems and replace any hardware that may be damaged by the
virus. The controls needed to mitigate the risk of virus and

  • 3. Nursing Self Regulation Essay A profession can be defined as a prestigious occupation with a high degree of identification among its member that requires a length and rigorous education in an intellectually demanding and theoretically based course of study; that engages in rigorous self regulation and control; that holds authority over clients; and that puts service to society above simple self interest (Schwirian, 1998, p. 6). Nursing is just that, and with its specific body of knowledge, standards, and codes of ethics, it is only fitting that it be self regulated (College of Nurses of Ontario, 2012). The College of Nurses works with registered nurses, registered practical nurses, and nurse practioners to determine whether or not standards and best practices are met and that the public s safety is protected. Specific Knowledge Self regulation is the idea of a professional group entering an agreement with the government to regulate their activities of their members (Canadian Nurses Association, 2007). This allows the government to have a small role in the control over the practice of the profession and the services that the members provide, but they do not have to gain in depth expertise to regulate the profession that would be needed if it were under direct regulation. Self regulation acknowledges that the profession is able to regulate its members because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Ancient German Rockets Origin The first known use of rockets was circa 1232 A.D. when the Chinese and the Mongols were at war with each other. These rockets were not used as aircraft or transportation but as weapons for warfare. The rockets used weren t even the rockets we know and consider rockets today, but instead were tinier combustible rockets attached to arrows used to propel the arrows to go farther to which they were attached. The chinese were responsible for the creation of these arrow rockets and throughout the 13th 15th centuries the rockets being used increased in size and technology and spread throughout Europe. This was due to the fact the Mongols invaded Eastern Europe and created rockets of their own following their disagreements with the Chinese. Following the spread of this technology, a monk in England by the name of Roger Bacon researched rockets and what could make them go farther. He used different types of gunpowder during these experiments. While Bacon was working on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rockets were only known during these early times as weapons for warfare or fireworks. However some historians claim there are old legends about the ancient chinese empire using rockets as means of transportation. The many assistants helping Wan Hu say after the rockets were ignited that a huge cloud of smoke appeared and when the smoke cleared Wan Hu was gone. Experts say Wan Hu was most likely disintegrated by the arrows due to the fact these arrows were meant to eventually explode as they were technically weapons. An order of strength and thundering of fire. from a poem written by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is the undisputed father of India s missile program. He has breathed life into ballistic missiles like the Agni and Prithvi, which put China and Pakistan well under India s missile range. It is too exhausting to track Dr Abdul Kalam s achievements to date. In the 60s and 70s he was a trail blazer in the space department. In the 80s he transformed the moribund Defence Research and Development Laboratory in Hyderabad into a highly motivated team. By the 90s Kalam emerged as the czar of Indian science and ... Three years later, the Aeronautical Development Establishment(ADE) was formed in Bangalore and he was posted there. At ADE, Kalam served as a senior scientific assistant, heading a small team that developed a prototype hovercraft. Defence Minister Krishna Menon rode in India s first indigenous hovercraft with Kalam at the controls. But for reasons never explained, the project which would have been a considerable international achievement in those days, was not encouraged. This was probably one of the reasons why he moved out of ADE in 1962 and joined India s space program. During 1963 82, he served the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) in various capacities. Here Kalam initiated Fibre Reinforced Plastics(FRP) activities, then after a stint with the aerodynamics and design group, he joined the satellite launch vehicle team at Thumba, near Trivandram and soon became Project Director for SLV 3. As Project Director, he was responsible for carrying out the design, development, qualification and flight testing of 44 major sub systems. • 7. Difference Between Private And Private Sector Introduction : The most basic distinction between public and private organizations is that the political community own public agencies whereas ownership of private organizations belongs to entrepreneurs or shareholders. However, there are many other differences between public and private organizations. The funding for public agencies derives mostly from taxation, which contrasts with private agencies receiving funds predominately from consumers in the form of fees. In the public sector, organizations are largely controlled by political forces, which also results in the imposition of constraints by the political system. Subjection to constraint results in frequent changes in policies within public organizations. The owners and shareholders of private organizations have a direct incentive to monitor the behaviour of managers to promote better performance and financial gain. Summary The development of the private sector and its expansion in all spheres of society increasingly emphasizes the attempts to alleviate the differences between the public sector and the private sector. The collaboration of these two areas demonstrates their interdependence and their role in the overall functioning of the national economy and of society as a whole. The widespread use of private sector methods and theories on organizing the management process points to the fact that private sector ideas can be transferred and can be used in the field of civil service. That s the crucial question: Did God, should God, have intended direct and final communication with us? If so, Jesus certainly failed his mission. There is little evidence that Jesus appearance cleared anything up or gave us God directly. • 17. Overpopulation Is A Global Catastrophe Naturally, as our population grows in size our growth rate increases exponentially. As a result, we face the issue of overpopulation, one of the many dangerous trends discussed in Anthony Barnosky and Elizabeth Hadly s Tipping Point for Planet Earth. Currently, if we do not make any changes, it is expected that we will reach a population size over twenty seven billion people by the year 2100. Along with this massive increase in population size, we will also face a rise in food and water shortages, an increase in population density, and an overall loss of quality of life. In order to prevent these potential effects, Barnosky and Hadly suggested three possible solutions to combating overpopulation a global catastrophe, a one child policy, or an increase in education, job, and contraception availability among girls. Any one of these solutions will potentially help us prevent overpopulation; however, exactly which solution it ends up being all depends on our preparation and the actions we take now. Ideally, we would like to avoid a global catastrophe that would decimate the population. But, if we are unable to lower our growth rate another world war, or something like a pandemic could occur. While no correlation between population density and nation level conflict has been made, the connection between overcrowding and increased internal conflict has been (Tir 1998). • 19. King Richard II And Henry V Many English monarchs believed in the divine right to rule. This right was given to them by God, therefore they believed that no one could take their crown or it would destroy the rightful line of succession. However, this was not always the case and some kings such as Richard II had their crown forced from them. If a king believed in the divine right he often had a close relationship with God. In William Shakespeare s comedies, the divine right to rule a kingdom is present in the ways in which Richard II, Henry IV, and Henry V are come to rule England. Both Richard II and Henry V were powerful rulers, whose ruling was heavily dictated by their divine right to rule and their relationship with God. Through exploring the King s relationship to God in Shakespeare s tragedies Richard II, 1 Henry IV, 2 Henry IV, and Henry V, one can see that Henry V is the ideal Christian King. In Shakespeare s history play Richard II, King Richard II s relationship with God can be explored throughout the play as he gives up his crown. Richard II is easily seen as weak, making some think that he is not fit for the role of king. He does not listen to his advisors and takes money from the nobles. These actions lead Henry Bolingbroke to take the crown. Richard II does not put up much of a fight as he willingly hands the crown over to Bolingbroke, but he does prolong the process as he dramatically hands his crown and scepter over. Transition Mechanism Of The Internet Protocol Essay Transition mechanism is a technology that facilitates the transitioning of the Internet from the Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) infrastructure Mechanism to allow a smooth transition to the new version of the IP protocol, without the need for an abrupt change. With this idea in mind, several of these mechanisms were created in order to facilitate the coexistence of both versions. During the early stages of IPv6 deployment it was believed that adoption of the new protocol would be quick enough and that IPv6 would have gained widespread adoption before IPv4 ran out. This, however, did not happen which is why transition mechanisms are an even more relevant topic today. Transition mechanisms can be classified according to the different techniques they apply: Dual stack Tunneling Translation It is also possible to classify the different mechanisms based on whether they assume that the underlying infrastructure is predominantly IPv4 or IPv6. Although in the beginning there were IPv4 networks that started gradually adding IPv6 access, as IPv4 ran out, providers started considering the deployment of IPv6 only networks. This means that transition mechanisms are needed to allow customers in these IPv6 only networks to access networks that still only support IPv4. Many mechanisms have been proposed and more are currently being discussed in the IETF. The following is a description of the most widely deployed and more mature mechanisms. The model to be discussed is HMAX model. The paper contains what HMAX model is, how it is derived in terms of biological background, and how it is being used for facial recognition. Also, I simulated the simplified version of the model in MATLAB. The simulation of the simplified version verified one cell in the highest hierarchy covers the entire retinal space of the given image. INTRODUCTION First of all, I looked into the paper written by Riesenhuber and how HMAX model is derived from a biological concept of a visual cortex. It begins with the power of cells found in macaque inferotemporal cortex (IT). The cells in IT are considered as essential cells for recognizing an object and IT is the highest area in the ventral visual stream. They are tuned to views of complicated objects, for instance a face of human. Their response remains almost the same when scale or position of an object changes, and it is one of the characteristic of these cells. This raises a question: how can these cells distinguish similar faces? In the other words, this paper talks what mechanism these cells use to respond differently from the similar inputs. This question is related to the model proposed by Hubel and Wiesel. In this model, simple cells with neighboring receptive fields feed into higher hierarchy cell and this ...
