Catholic Faith Essay Sample
The catholic faith encourages us to help out and give our time to our community. The catholic
faith also encourages us to follow God s mission. I gave my time at the Women s Health Clinic
in Hartford. I spent all five hours working on a pamphlet that they will put in the waiting room.
Once I made it the next thing I did was make copies. I was happy to help out at the clinic because
it gave me an opportunity to learn. Also the doctors do not need to waste their time making a
pamphlet. They have many other important tasks to focus on. I took away much more than I had
expected. One thing I took away was doctors have more jobs than just taking care of patients. The
doctors have to create pamphlets, but I stepped up to the job. I had lots of fun creating this
pamphlet and would love to make another one in the future. The beatitude that I modeled through
my service was Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. You can show mercy in
many different ways, not just by forgiving. The way I showed mercy to others was by teaching
women. I have shown compassion to others by helping mothers. The pamphlet teaches the mothers

I have realized how much I love helping out my community. Once I finished my service, I felt
good about myself. I am proud of myself because I put hours in to help someone besides myself.
I also felt in that moment that God appreciated what I did and was happy I followed in his
footsteps. I also felt worthy of God s love. I realized that I have shown compassion to others
because I did teach them how they can help their baby. Helping out makes many people feel good
about himself, but make sure you put the hours in. When you put hours into your life you will
most likely take something out of your community service. I have followed God s mission by

Large, monolithic satellites are slowly being overtaken by Distributed Space Systems (DSS)

Domestication In The Americas Essay
Moving away from Eastern Asia, it is now time to focus on the development of agriculture of the
Americas. In a similar way as to what happen in China, agriculture originated independently in
three different areas: Mesoamerica, the Andean region in South America and eastern, mid
continental North America. The earliest evidence for domesticates so far comes from
archaeobotanical remains found in caves, in all three origin centres. These remains are usually
recovered in a state of remarkably good preservation, as a result of the dry climate that prevents
the decay of organic materials. The caves in which these remains are discovered, usually also
display evidence for the presence of small groups of hunter gatherers. These particular aspects led
researchers to suggest that the domestication process in the Americaswas initiated by nomadic or
seminomadic groups of people, possibly in a higher setting, although this theory is now being
questioned by new lines of evidence (Smith, 1994: 174).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
mays). This is believed to have originated in southwest Mexico, from where it subsequently spread
to the areas of mid continental North America and the Andes. However, maize was not the first
plant to undergo the process in domestication in the Americas, and, even after having spread out
throughout the continent, people still consumed a variety of other plant species, with a few
differences depending on the specific region. For example, people in southwestern United Stated
maintained species such as beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), squash (Cucurbita pepo ssp. pepo), and
sunflower (Helianthus annuus var. macrocarpus) as important components of their diets, even after
the establishment of maize as a staple

Women Were Not For The Public World
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it was widely believed that women were not
suited for the public world (p.493). It is no secret that women were treated less than a man, and
that belief proves it. Women took a stand for themselves by creating groups for women with
similar beliefs to come together and show the world that they are equal to men. The groups they
established aided the community in several different ways. Some supported local public places
and others passed laws that improved women s and children s quality of life. Through the hard
work of these groups, many different career paths opened up to women that were originally
labeled a man s job. If it wasn t for the women who asserted their authority back then, I may not
have been granted the rights I have today to even be in this class. Originally women s
employment options were limited, as jobs were often sorted by gender. Job openings in
industrial work were often filled with men. The few women that broke the mold and worked in
an industrial setting were more likely to be laid off or to experience wage reductions (page 573).
This seemed to be a common trend amongst other male driven careers. Although women with an
education could work their way into male driven professions like physicians, lawyers, engineers,
scientists, and corporate managers (page 493), most women found security being employed in
careers such as teaching, nursing and social work. Many social work job opportunities

Character Analysis Of Bushberry s Bushwick
Bushwick, directed by Johnathan Milott and Cary Murnion, is a frantic storyline of cat and mouse
and becomes obnoxious the more you watch. The storyline premises more excitement than is
displayed, and the characters fail the glue this story together.
A college student named Lucy (Brittany Snow) comes back to her hometown in Brooklyn on a
subway, when she walks into a civil war outbreak within the streets of Brooklyn s Bushwick
neighborhood. The state of Texas is abiding by the government operations and militia forces have
been sent to destroy and wreak havoc in the streets of Brooklyn, so that they can claim this
territory as their East Coast base. Lucy then becomes acquainted with a burly war veteran, Stupe
(Dave Bautista), who helps her travel across the city into safety. The intense escape extends for a
treacherous five block course and becomes bloodshed after each block. Lucy and Stupe must
depend on each other to survive the militia forces.
Brittany Snow and Dave Bautista do a great job showing their emotion throughout the film, yet it
might have been too much. This film was directed poorly, after every ten to fifteen minutes, the
characters would cry hysterically, even while the war is going right outside the door. This made it
difficult to watch, because the characters would stop to talk about their personal lives, yet their
major priority should be getting to safety. This was one of the major faults throughout this film.
Brittany Snow is an incredible actress

Character Foils for Odysseus
The Odyssey is the epic that has been read time and time again, by varying ages, digging its way
into our hearts, becoming an instant classic. Odysseus and the adventures of his homecoming
create a much different tale than Homer s other work, the Iliad, provided. The epic is not about
bloodthirsty men trying to get their hands on kleos anymore; it is about the homecoming of a man
who uses his wits, not his weapon. In the Odyssey, the characters balance Homer provides
contrasting characters to show the readers the traits that Odysseus holds and how it builds his

Agamemnon was stabbed to death by the vengeful tag team. Agamemnon s son, Orestes,
unleashed vengeance upon his mother and her lover. Agamemnon s family is a foil for
Odysseus family life. Odysseus family loves him very dearly and has done no wrong as he was
away. Penelope, unlike Clytemnestra, stays loyal to Odysseus and even creates an ingenious
plan to keep the suitors off her back. Telemachos on the other hand has to deal with the suitors
who are trying to marry his mother and have been dishonoring his father, Odysseus, eating their
fill since they sat their butts on the stools they deem as weapons. Telemachos can t even stand
up to the suitors as Agamemnon s son took revenge on the people who killed his father. This
shows how Telemachos should be as a son and will soon be as he grows up to be more like his
father. Menelaos had a long homecoming due to the gods, just as Odysseus had. Menelaos
angered the Egyptian gods, due to the lack of knowledge of Egyptian customs. He was able to
get home with all of his crew, unlike Odysseus, who was a lone survivor. Although Menelaos had
an easier homecoming than Odysseus, he did not have a faithful wife, just like Agamemnon.
Helen was the reason for the Trojan War; for Menelaos it was not easy to forgive an unfaithful
wife to that degree. He cannot rejoin the present as easily due to all that was lost in Troy, destined

The Garment and Textile Industry in Bangladesh Essay

September 3, 2014
Bangladesh is a south Asian country and has an approximate population reaching 164 million. The
manufacturing industry is what Bangladesh is known for. That industry also accounted for almost
12% of GDP in 2009 and 2010 with employing over four million people (The Bangladesh Accord
Foundation, 2014). The labor force is made up of young, urbanizing, mainly women. Bangladesh
accounts for approximately 78% total exports (The Bangladesh Accord Foundation, 2014), which is
second to China.

Bilateral agreements with 28 countries and Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) of the EU
are key reasons for Bangladesh RMG products having access to global markets (Board of
Investment Bangladesh, 2012).
Best alternative
The best alternative would be improve the infrastructure, and increase the price of exporting, but
still lower than any other country. Bangladesh would make a larger profit and could put more
money on fixed and creating the ports and roads which in return will make it easier for the buying
countries. If the prices continue to stay low, the country may not have enough money for
infrastructure. Bangladesh would have more money to help with the electricity outages which can
also help business buy producing more and exporting more.
Implementation plan The implementation would be analyzing the competitions textile export
prices, and then increase the price to keep it right below the competition. This will allow
Bangladesh to gain more profit and place that into infrastructure. They would also want to focus on
the electricity so labor improves and more textiles can be made. This plan will allow for easier
flowing importing and most importantly exporting. This will also create a better working
environment in the textile mills and will create more production.

The Sixties Exposed in Takin it to the Streets and The Dharma Bums
One cannot undertake any study of the 1960s in America without hearing about the struggles for
social change. From civil rights to freedom of speech, civil disobedience and nonviolent protest
became a central part of the sixties culture, albeit representative of only a small portion of the
population. As Mario Savio, a Free Speech Movement (FSM) leader, wrote in an essay in 1964:
The most exciting things going on in America today are movements to change America ( Takin it to
the Streets, 115). His essay is critical of those that maintain the status quo and oppose change in
America. It seems quite obvious that change has occurred as a result of the efforts ... Show more

The rebellion against automation and middle class prosperity of the sixties is portrayed in Kerouac
s The Dharma Bums. Ray and the other dharma bums lived on little money and enjoyed nature.
Ray traveled cross country hitchhiking and jumping on trains from California to North Carolina
and back more than once on only a few dollars and while at home in North Carolina for
Christmas he sat in the woods with his dog much of the time and preferred to sleep in a sleeping
bag outside on the porch rather than inside his mother s home. This love of nature and desire to
live a very meager lifestyle in opposition to the working class prosperity seems to be more in
opposition to the changing culture, which was becoming more automated and industry driven, than
it was trying to illicit change. Regarding automation and middle class prosperity, it seems that
Kerouac and others feared the loss of nature to industry as well as one s time to be able to enjoy
nature.
The fight against automation was however, somewhat subservient to the goal of social change
regarding individual rights. The civil rights movement sought changes to the system of racial
injustice. Resistance to this movement helped bring about the FSM and the fight for one s rights to
free speech and assembly. The FSM was a movement dedicated to promoting equality and individual
rights, yet it maintained the

termed as best payday loan. It is only after the purpose for which the loan was taken gets satisfied
that we start thinking critically of the loan. It will be wrong to term this tendency as selfishness.
Payday loans are actually made dearer by loanproviders. Many borrowers actually decide to take
loans at any terms stated by the lenders because of the urgency involved in the situation. Lenders
will not miss to profit of this opportunity. Thus, we find best payday loans costing dearly to its
borrowers. High rates of interest and large fees are often appended to the payday loan, thus

Depending on the needs of the borrowers and the lending policy adhered to by the lender, the
borrowable amount may further go upwards. These funds will be used by borrowers to expend
with ease.
Payday loans are short term loans. The amount has to be returned with the interest within a month;
sometimes within weeks. Lenders may employ different methods to get back the money. The most
popular of these is the post dated cheque system. The cheque is dated for presentation on the
desired date. On the specific date, the amount is automatically cut from the borrowers account. For
this purpose, some loan providers would require the borrower to have a checking account.
The post dated cheque may also serve as collateral. In this sense, Best payday loans may also be
regarded as secured loans. Borrowers, who desire to have best payday loans without the clause of
collateral, will have to further search the UK financial market. The concept of unsecured payday
loans is fast catching up with lenders in the UK, and it may not be much difficult to have best
payday loans without collateral.
There are certain essentials that the borrower needs to have in order to become eligible for best
payday loans. The borrower needs to be employed with a regular income that is transferred directly
into his bank account. The borrower must have a chequebook and a checking account as mentioned
before.
An important advantage of best payday loans is that credit history

Morgan Le Fay Essay
During the Medieval times of England, society was created as a pure patriarchy by the Christian
church, and nearly everything was made male dominated where the men held the power and their
female counterparts held little to no power at all. Arthurian texts such as Sir Gawain and the Green
Knight showcase many of the characters mostly following these traditions with the men being
portrayed as strong hearted knights who follow a code of chivalry, and the women as passive and
submissive beings to the men. However, Arthur s half sister Morgan Le Fayis featured in Sir
Gawain, and she does not play any parts given to her as a woman, as she is portrayed as an
enchantress and an evil, manipulative woman, which is an archetype that was given to women
who did not follow their given gender roles. Morgan Le Fay subverts the traditional roles for
women by having her own power in the play, and overall presents herself as the antithesis to the
church and the patriarchy of the Medieval times.
Morgan Le Fay is not physically present for all of Sir Gawain, however, at the end of the play it is

Infection Prevention In Healthcare Settings
Introduction:
Hand hygiene is recognized by infection prevention and control experts as the single most important
intervention in decreasing the spread of infection in both healthcare and community settings.
Because the hands are vectors for transmission between people as well as inanimate objects such as
environmental surfaces (i.e., blood pressure cuffs), it is critical to practice frequent hand hygiene
using the traditional soap and water or an alcohol based hand rub as appropriate. The 2009 World
Health Guidelines for Hand Hygiene for Healthcare Settings identifies five ways the nosocomial

Infections
Infection prevention and control is required to prevent the transmission of communicable diseases
in all health care settings. Infection prevention and control demands a basic understanding of the
epidemiology of diseases; risk factors that increase patient susceptibility to infection; and the
practices, procedures and treatments that may result in infections.
Infection control precautions are a set of standard recommendations used to reduce the risk of
transmission of infectious agents from body fluids or environmental surfaces that contain infectious
agents.

The Deregulation and Growth of Financial Markets
Q1. How did deregulation of financial markets and the large flow of capital between countries
contributed to vulnerability of the contemporary global financial system.
Deregulation is defined as the removal of rules and restrictions, when this occurred within the
financial markets it allows financial institutes more freedom, it encouraged new ways of lending
and made funds more accessible to lenders.
Deregulation has been ongoing in financial markets for more than 30 year, this has allowed
financial institutions to self regulate and ultimately police themselves. Former Federal Reserve
chairman Alan Greenspan supported by successive administrations and congress were actively
pushed by powerful financial industry at every turn to strip away safeguards that would have
avoided vulnerabilities in the contemporary global financial systems. U.S. government allowed
financial firms to pick their preferred regulators. From 1999 to 2008, the US financial sector
expended $2.7 billion in reported federal lobbying expenses; individuals and political action
committees in the sector made more than $1 billion in campaign contributions. What is most
troubling is the extent to which the nation was deprived of the necessary strength and independence
of the oversight necessary to safeguard financial stability . (Commission, 2011)

I became interested in computers during the early 1990s and it happened right in my house. Within

programmers were the engineers the circuits and processors. In April 1990, I volunteered to help

John Marshall Research Paper
To listen well is as powerful a means of communication and influence as to talk well. John

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ( Ocd )
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder:
A Brief Overview Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder that is
characterized by constant intrusive thoughts (obsessions) that normally cause anxiety or distress
which can only be alleviated by performing repetitive actions (compulsions) (Rahimi, Haghighi,
and Shamsaei, 2015). Nearly everyone has experienced something similar to these obsessions
and compulsions at some point in their life but this experience can only be labeled as OCD
when it occurs at least one hour per day and correlates with high levels of distress (Abramowitz et
al., 2010). It s important to distinguish the differences between the actual psychological disorder
and informal use of the term OCD. For example, many people claim they have OCD because they
are particular about how something is done such as doing the dishes or making the bed in the
morning. However, true sufferers of this disorder suffer from great anxietyand torment from their
obsessions and cannot restrain themselves from giving in to their compulsions (Huffman Dowdell,
2004, p. 462). OCD, according to the World Health Organization, is among the top ten most
disabling medical conditions (Rahimi et al., 2015). There are two main components to obsessive
compulsive disorder: obsessions and compulsions. The first component, obsessions, are unwanted
intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that will constantly plague an individual s mind and cause tem

There are different ways of determining what О» should be and I will cover how to obtain such
values by using the error terms of the sequence |x_k x^* | and |x_(k+1) x^* | which can be denoted
e_k and
гЂ– eгЂ—_(k+1) respectively.
By comparing different methods and using them on the same problems we will be able to find
out if and where different methods will be suited to different functions. In some instances one
method may not work because it is may not be able to find a descending path to follow hence
unable to find a minimizer, or possibly one method may take and ascending path firstly so it
could descend. By the end of this research I will be able to recognise such conditions and
restraints when applying a method to a function problem, as well as being able to use a correct
method of optimization and picking one with a high order of convergence to obtain a minimizer as
quickly as possible.
Due to there being multiple dimensions I will also look at when there is only one dimension to
worry about, these methods will include the Secant, Bisection and Fibonacci Methods, by looking
at these I can show my opinion on what would be the best type of method if the function problem
was in only one dimension, as perhaps a method which can be used for n dimensions may have
unnecessary work for a problem with a single dimension, I will do multiple comparisons between
the one dimension methods and then with methods that are used for multiple dimensions,

Social Disorganization In The Dark Knight Rises
Social Disorganization theory is a theory that looks at deviant behavior and the community it
arises in. The way people are raised and what environment they are raised in effects who they
become when they are older. Factors such as poverty, industrialization, immigration, shifting
social values, city population and more can all effect ones way of thinking and their actions
(Buccellato 2017). In the film Dark Knight Rises city of Gotham is a unique environment that
definitely pushes people to do things they normally would not do had they not been in this
certain environment. In the Dark Knight Rises people are left to fight for their own safety and
they did not have social capital, collective efficacy, and they were not in The town of Gotham

are working for him on the bad side. The people of Gotham turn to theft and lose control of their
sanity because of their fear of dying. Bane made people lose their minds due to fear and uncertainty.
These factors pushed them over the edge into committing crime. Social Disorganization researchers
perceived criminals and delinquents to be normal individuals whose criminal acts were stimulated
by their environment (Rafter and Brown 2011: 50). Bane put up a TV for Batmanto watch his city

An examination of the sonnet from Petrarch to Browning....
An examination of the sonnet from Petrarch to Browning.
A sonnet is a poem, which traditionally contains the subject of love.
The creator of the sonnet was a man named Francesco Petrarca who was usually referred to as
Petrarch. Petrarch wrote many of his sonnets based upon himself, and his lover, Laura. The
conventional format of a sonnet contains fourteen lines, and is segregated to illustrate two
arguments. Every sonnet takes the conventional format of fourteen lines, although the way the
arguments are split up, may be different.
For example, Petrarch and Elizabeth Barrett Browning s sonnet both take the format of an octave
and a sestet, whereas Shakespeare s sonnet takes the format of three quatrains and a rhyming
couplet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Petrarchan sonnet is in the form of an octave and a sestet, which explores the persona s
experience of unrequited love. In the octave,
Petrarch is searching for his lost lover, Laura. This can be proven in the first line of the sonnet, A
thousand times to make my peace I sought. The persona describes his deep love for Laura by
using descriptive and metaphorical language. He elevates Laura to a high point by using religious
imagery, while he is still below her. And offer you my heart; but little thought had your proud
spirit to look down so low. This line also tells us that the persona had offered his love to Laura, but
she rejected it; she did not return his affections.
From the fourth line and onwards, love is described as being imprisoned. Yet if another would
that heart enchain, is an example of this. He believes that Laura is not accepting his love because
she has changing dreams and hopes, which are just imaginary. She lives in fickle hopes and
dreams untrue. He is also speaking about how any other woman would have hopes and dreams
about capturing his heart because it is bound to Laura. In the seventh line of the octave,
Petrarch has mentioned about how the persona has things in common with his lover Laura. For
example, he hates the things that she hates.
Since I despise all the things that you disdain.
In the sestet of, Sonnet XXL, the subject changes from the search for love, to the journey of love.

The flashy advertisements broadcast in television generate impulse shopping in children.
Children, after watching the glitter of commercials, often lose the ability to live a life without
materialistic joy. The kids usually get more attracted towards the costly branded products, such
as jeans and accessories. They disregard the inexpensive, but useful, ones that are not shown in
the commercials. Advertisements have an indirect effect on the behavior of children. They
might develop temper tantrums, when deprived of the latest toys and clothes that are shown in
the commercials. The personal preferences in clothing, toys, food and luxurious of children are
altered by the advertisements, to a great extent. Junk foods, such as pizzas, burgers and soft

The United Sates is the clear leader among modern, stable democratic nations in its rates of

In the past years until now, violence among children has increased dramatically. Cases have been

their teachers and classmates. Things of that sort are very much a reality for schools around the
country. Is the reason for these acts of violence that children are becoming more aggressive at
younger ages? Does, the media have to do something with the increase in violence of young
children, the fact that the media has more violence in it than any other point in history? It could be
a combination of things, including work, single parents, peer pressures, etc. The true concern is that

Compare And Contrast Serfdom In Russia
A typical belief of serfdom in Russia s history versus slavery in America s history is that they are
grouped together. However, serfdom in Russia is a completely different system of servitude
compared to slavery in America. Slavery is the condition in which one person is owned as property
by another and is under the owner s control especially in involuntary servitude (Free Dictionary
Website) whereas Serfdomis a member of the lowest feudal class, legally bound to a landed estate
and required to perform labor for the lord of that estate. (Free Dictionary Website). Therefore, Serfs
have a better lifestyle and treatment compared to slaves. In serfdom system of Russia, the Russian
czar needed revenue to rule his country such as infrastructure projects, businesses and supplies for
the war. The only source of revenue is through the people. Since the land was vast and needed
constant control, the Czar granted lands to nobles, in which their production would generate
revenue for the czar. The nobles needed to cultivate the land they were allotted and therefore
needed people to grow crops and secure the land from other nobles. The nobles would then hire

Physical space can inform researchers on how people interact with that space, and influence social
behavior. Applied anthropologists have a very important tool in their practitioner s toolkit that
allows them to disseminate behavior, actions, and help create spaces that will meet the needs of the
population using ethnography. Ethnography allows practitioners to use their observational skills to
improve the design of a product, landscape, environment, or assist with an infrastructural design
based on the needs of the individuals that will access such facilities (Rijsberman 2012). To do so, it
is extremely important to know the impact of physical surroundings and environmental behavior
and understand that environments have a strong influence on people s interaction with the physical
landscape.
The chapters assigned for this week focused on observing physical spaces and observing
environmental behavior. It is important to observe physical traces, physical surroundings, which
display how people interact with other individuals and that environment (Zeisel 2006). One of the
big topics of chapter 8 was how individuals change their environment to meet their needs. For

These men would create images of Paris that fit their styles, Hemingway the cynical realist and
Fitzgerald the romantic. Hemingway s rational for moving to the Montparnasse district of Paris in
late 1921 had much to do with the triving literary community already established there. Ezra Pound
had convinced James Joyce to move there, and Joyce was held in the highest esteem by the
young American writers: That awesome presence alone, and of course the publication of
Ulysses in 1922, made Paris the capital of the literary world for many young writers,
Hemingway and Fitzgerald among them. 2 In addition, Paris was free from the restrictions of
Phroibition, and food and drink at the local cafes cost about as much as a sandwich and soda at
a convieninece store back home.3 Despite the cheap cost of living, Hemingway took it upon
himself to affect as much of the bohemian lifestyle as possible. In A Moveable Feast, he
describes the literary joys of viewing CГ©zanne while hungry: There you could always go into
the Luxembourge museum and all the paintings were sharpended and clearer and more beautiful if
you were belly empty, hollow hungry. I learned to understand Cezane much better and to see truly
how how he made landscapes when I was hungry. 4 The act of taking on elements of the personas
of the artists that these writers tried to emulate and outdo was almost as important as their own
works. Hemingway also

How Is It Smart To Stay Out Of War
Patience creates power and wealth. By staying out of the war, the U.S. had time to develop it s
army and they re game plan. In my opinion the U.S. was smart to stay out of the war to figure out
who their allies were and so they had every soldier healthy and ready for war. The U.S. tries to stay
out of the war. Germany,Italy, and Japan had not yet declared war on the U.S.. Therefore they
had nobody threatening them, nor did they have a reason to waste money on war. We are also
slowly exiting the Great Depression at this time. And if we joined the war we would have some
major problems to deal with. Plus war costs a lot of money and time. The stress between war,
money, time, and the great depression are huge. Other countries weren t killing large amounts of

Musical Development From The 50 S
Musical development from the 50 s to the present day
1950 s
The 1950 s was a very important decade in the development of music as it saw the birth of rock n
roll. Artists such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry took the style of playing already established
in genres such as blues and country music and completely renovated it. They took the idea of a
12 bar blues pattern and sped it up and added rhythmic, catchy hooks to make the music easy to
dance to. The lyrics of songs about the genre itself as well as teenage love and sex, although the
latter was only referred to through slang terminology, appealed greatly to teenagers of the time due
to their rebellious nature.
Rock n roll also saw the bass guitar replacing the upright bass in most ... Show more content on

Songs such as hound dog and jailhouse rock made him one of the most renowned performers of all
time and still influence music greatly even today.
While Presley was no doubt the most successful and best known artist of the decade, there are
several other performers who were key figures in establishing rock n roll as the music of the era.
Artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Bill Haley and the comets played an integral role
in creating rock n roll and making it a success with songs such as Johnny B Goode and rock around
the clock .
1960 s
Without a doubt the most influential event in the development of music in the 1960 s was what
became known as the British invasion. With the televised beatings of peaceful civil rights protestors
the American youth became disenchanted with their government and the music that was produced
up until 1963 began to reflect that. After 1963 however acts that had been hugely successful in
Britain began to make appearances in America, most notably the Beatles. The band, later known as
the fab four, became an overnight success in the states and very few American artists maintained
any semblance of popularity as a result of the ensuing beatlemania as it

History Of The Dead Sea Scrolls
The Dead Sea Scrolls are ancient Jewish writings that were found in caves a slightly north west of
the Dead Sea in Israel. All together, their parts make up missing, or copied, sections of many books
in the Roman Catholic Bible Canon, with the largest amount being from the book of Psalms,
Deuteronomy, Genesis, Isaiah, and Exodus, which are all present in the current day Roman
Catholic BibleCanon.
The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered by a group of Shepherds in the mid 1940s. One of the
Shepherds, Muhammed Edh Dhib, was the first to adventure into the caves that the Dead Sea
Scrolls were found in. Over the course of a year, many of the scrolls were found by these same
shepherds, and soon after, they found their way into the hands of the Government

James M. Gustafson s An Examined Faith
In An Examined Faith James M. Gustafson uses a hypothetical student to discuss how studying
different subjects affects her thoughts and views of the human and religion. Should she deny new
scientific sources and explanations, or accept and deny her religious beliefs, or find some way to
accommodate the various sources? I had contact with several different subjects, most about biology,
with different explanations during my high school and college time, and I can say it affected me.
The hypothetical student was nurtured in the Christian religionbackground. She believes that human
was created in the image and likeness of God, and to rule over the rest of the nature. Gustafson

The factor that makes slightly changes between one individual to another is the mutation. It is said
that mutation occurs randomly and with no control, and by this the natural selection happens, and
the individuals more suitable to the environment passes the genes, and the mutation that guaranteed
the survival is going to operate in the next generation, and it keeps happening. It seems so
meaningless to address the reason of the existence of humans, and all nature to multiple random
events in the genes. In addition, what about the beginning of life? The theory of origin of life
(Abiogenesis) says that by the combination of various inorganic chemicals, the first living
unicellular appears spontaneously. I am also very unlike to believe that all began with a simple
spontaneous event. I accommodate both Christian beliefs, and the scientific theory. I think that,
there is something like a trigger inside the DNA of all living beings, which drives certain
individuals to differentiate from the others, and it makes them to survive. I believe that God, a
divine force, conduct this trigger to make sure that the survival happens. About the theory of the
origin of life, I also believe that is was not spontaneous. I think the divine force guided somehow
the biological interactions between the abiotic factors to generate the appropriate conditions for life
on Earth, and to create the first living

I gave my time at the Women s Health Clinic in Hartford. I spent all five hours working on a pamphlet that they will put in the waiting room. Once I made it the next thing I did was make copies. I was happy to help out at the clinic because it gave me an opportunity to learn. Also the doctors do not need to waste their time making a pamphlet. They have many other important tasks to focus on. I took away much more than I had expected. One thing I took away was doctors have more jobs than just taking care of patients. The doctors have to create pamphlets, but I stepped up to the job. • 5. Domestication In The Americas Essay Moving away from Eastern Asia, it is now time to focus on the development of agriculture of the Americas. In a similar way as to what happen in China, agriculture originated independently in three different areas: Mesoamerica, the Andean region in South America and eastern, mid continental North America. The earliest evidence for domesticates so far comes from archaeobotanical remains found in caves, in all three origin centres. These remains are usually recovered in a state of remarkably good preservation, as a result of the dry climate that prevents the decay of organic materials. The caves in which these remains are discovered, usually also display evidence for the presence of small groups of hunter gatherers. These particular aspects led researchers to suggest that the domestication process in the Americaswas initiated by nomadic or seminomadic groups of people, possibly in a higher setting, although this theory is now being questioned by new lines of evidence (Smith, 1994: 174).... However, maize was not the first plant to undergo the process in domestication in the Americas, and, even after having spread out throughout the continent, people still consumed a variety of other plant species, with a few differences depending on the specific region. For example, people in southwestern United Stated maintained species such as beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), squash (Cucurbita pepo ssp. pepo), and sunflower (Helianthus annuus var. macrocarpus) as important components of their diets, even after the establishment of maize as a staple ... • 6. Women Were Not For The Public World In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, it was widely believed that women were not suited for the public world (p.493). It is no secret that women were treated less than a man, and that belief proves it. Women took a stand for themselves by creating groups for women with similar beliefs to come together and show the world that they are equal to men. The groups they established aided the community in several different ways. Some supported local public places and others passed laws that improved women s and children s quality of life. Through the hard work of these groups, many different career paths opened up to women that were originally labeled a man s job. If it wasn t for the women who asserted their authority back then, I may not have been granted the rights I have today to even be in this class. Originally women s employment options were limited, as jobs were often sorted by gender. Job openings in industrial work were often filled with men. The few women that broke the mold and worked in an industrial setting were more likely to be laid off or to experience wage reductions (page 573). This seemed to be a common trend amongst other male driven careers. Although women with an education could work their way into male driven professions like physicians, lawyers, engineers, scientists, and corporate managers (page 493), most women found security being employed in careers such as teaching, nursing and social work. The storyline premises more excitement than is displayed, and the characters fail the glue this story together. A college student named Lucy (Brittany Snow) comes back to her hometown in Brooklyn on a subway, when she walks into a civil war outbreak within the streets of Brooklyn s Bushwick neighborhood. The state of Texas is abiding by the government operations and militia forces have been sent to destroy and wreak havoc in the streets of Brooklyn, so that they can claim this territory as their East Coast base. Lucy then becomes acquainted with a burly war veteran, Stupe (Dave Bautista), who helps her travel across the city into safety. The intense escape extends for a treacherous five block course and becomes bloodshed after each block. Lucy and Stupe must depend on each other to survive the militia forces. Brittany Snow and Dave Bautista do a great job showing their emotion throughout the film, yet it might have been too much. This film was directed poorly, after every ten to fifteen minutes, the characters would cry hysterically, even while the war is going right outside the door. This made it difficult to watch, because the characters would stop to talk about their personal lives, yet their major priority should be getting to safety. Telemachos on the other hand has to deal with the suitors who are trying to marry his mother and have been dishonoring his father, Odysseus, eating their fill since they sat their butts on the stools they deem as weapons. Telemachos can t even stand up to the suitors as Agamemnon s son took revenge on the people who killed his father. Menelaos angered the Egyptian gods, due to the lack of knowledge of Egyptian customs. He was able to get home with all of his crew, unlike Odysseus, who was a lone survivor. Although Menelaos had an easier homecoming than Odysseus, he did not have a faithful wife, just like Agamemnon. The Sixties Exposed in Takin it to the Streets and The Dharma Bums One cannot undertake any study of the 1960s in America without hearing about the struggles for social change. From civil rights to freedom of speech, civil disobedience and nonviolent protest became a central part of the sixties culture, albeit representative of only a small portion of the population. As Mario Savio, a Free Speech Movement (FSM) leader, wrote in an essay in 1964: The most exciting things going on in America today are movements to change America ( Takin it to the Streets, 115). This love of nature and desire to live a very meager lifestyle in opposition to the working class prosperity seems to be more in opposition to the changing culture, which was becoming more automated and industry driven, than it was trying to illicit change. Regarding automation and middle class prosperity, it seems that Kerouac and others feared the loss of nature to industry as well as one s time to be able to enjoy nature. The fight against automation was however, somewhat subservient to the goal of social change regarding individual rights. The civil rights movement sought changes to the system of racial injustice. Resistance to this movement helped bring about the FSM and the fight for one s rights to free speech and assembly. Morgan Le Fay Essay During the Medieval times of England, society was created as a pure patriarchy by the Christian church, and nearly everything was made male dominated where the men held the power and their female counterparts held little to no power at all. Arthurian texts such as Sir Gawain and the Green Knight showcase many of the characters mostly following these traditions with the men being portrayed as strong hearted knights who follow a code of chivalry, and the women as passive and submissive beings to the men. However, Arthur s half sister Morgan Le Fayis featured in Sir Gawain, and she does not play any parts given to her as a woman, as she is portrayed as an enchantress and an evil, manipulative woman, which is an archetype that was given to women who did not follow their given gender roles. • 16. The Deregulation and Growth of Financial Markets Q1. How did deregulation of financial markets and the large flow of capital between countries contributed to vulnerability of the contemporary global financial system. Deregulation is defined as the removal of rules and restrictions, when this occurred within the financial markets it allows financial institutes more freedom, it encouraged new ways of lending and made funds more accessible to lenders. Deregulation has been ongoing in financial markets for more than 30 year, this has allowed financial institutions to self regulate and ultimately police themselves. Former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan supported by successive administrations and congress were actively pushed by powerful financial industry at every turn to strip away safeguards that would have avoided vulnerabilities in the contemporary global financial systems. U.S. government allowed financial firms to pick their preferred regulators. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ( Ocd ) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: A Brief Overview Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder that is characterized by constant intrusive thoughts (obsessions) that normally cause anxiety or distress which can only be alleviated by performing repetitive actions (compulsions) (Rahimi, Haghighi, and Shamsaei, 2015). Nearly everyone has experienced something similar to these obsessions and compulsions at some point in their life but this experience can only be labeled as OCD when it occurs at least one hour per day and correlates with high levels of distress (Abramowitz et al., 2010). For example, many people claim they have OCD because they are particular about how something is done such as doing the dishes or making the bed in the morning. However, true sufferers of this disorder suffer from great anxietyand torment from their obsessions and cannot restrain themselves from giving in to their compulsions (Huffman Dowdell, 2004, p. 462). By comparing different methods and using them on the same problems we will be able to find out if and where different methods will be suited to different functions. In some instances one method may not work because it is may not be able to find a descending path to follow hence unable to find a minimizer, or possibly one method may take and ascending path firstly so it could descend. By the end of this research I will be able to recognise such conditions and restraints when applying a method to a function problem, as well as being able to use a correct method of optimization and picking one with a high order of convergence to obtain a minimizer as quickly as possible. Due to there being multiple dimensions I will also look at when there is only one dimension to worry about, these methods will include the Secant, Bisection and Fibonacci Methods, by looking at these I can show my opinion on what would be the best type of method if the function problem was in only one dimension, as perhaps a method which can be used for n dimensions may have unnecessary work for a problem with a single dimension, I will do multiple comparisons between the one dimension methods and then with methods that are used for multiple dimensions, ... The creator of the sonnet was a man named Francesco Petrarca who was usually referred to as Petrarch. Petrarch wrote many of his sonnets based upon himself, and his lover, Laura. The conventional format of a sonnet contains fourteen lines, and is segregated to illustrate two arguments. Every sonnet takes the conventional format of fourteen lines, although the way the arguments are split up, may be different. In the octave, Petrarch is searching for his lost lover, Laura. This can be proven in the first line of the sonnet, A thousand times to make my peace I sought. The persona describes his deep love for Laura by using descriptive and metaphorical language. He elevates Laura to a high point by using religious imagery, while he is still below her. And offer you my heart; but little thought had your proud spirit to look down so low. This line also tells us that the persona had offered his love to Laura, but she rejected it; she did not return his affections. From the fourth line and onwards, love is described as being imprisoned. Yet if another would that heart enchain, is an example of this. He believes that Laura is not accepting his love because she has changing dreams and hopes, which are just imaginary. She lives in fickle hopes and dreams untrue. He is also speaking about how any other woman would have hopes and dreams about capturing his heart because it is bound to Laura. In the seventh line of the octave, Petrarch has mentioned about how the persona has things in common with his lover Laura. For example, he hates the things that she hates.
