In his work Stradano creates fantastical and mythical depictions of what the new world would look
like. In a way I think this is really refreshing, because despite all of Burgkmair s efforts, he would
always be playing a game of telephone, receiving his information second hand rather than
grasping it with his own eyes. This in turn make his efforts a bit futile since they are not exactly

did not pretend to know what the new world looked like, or how the people of that world acted or
