Labelling Theory Applied To The Criminal Justice System
2) labelling theory can be applied to the criminal justice system by the stigmatization of people it
creates. People which society deem are criminals are placed in a difficult situation of being cast
out in a sense from society. Felonies for example stay on your record and create a story about
you without context or understanding. Criminals also feel more secure with other criminals as
stated in the labelling overview article, Once the person accepts a criminal label, they will most
likely begin to associate with other criminals and increase their own criminal behavior (9), as that
is where they will feel the most comfortable and less judged. In the criminal s justice system, this
creates a caste of individuals who feel because of their

Human Identification
Introduction:
Human identification is one of the most challenging subjects that forensic experts have came
across. Identity is a set of physical characteristics, or a functional or psychic, normal or pathological,
that define an individual.1 Scientific identification of human remains might be accomplished
by п¬Ѓngerprint, dental, anthropological, genetic or radiological examinations.2,3 When it is not
possible to apply the scientific method of fingerprint identification, it demands a forensic medicine
investigation like radiological investigations. The skill process, carried out by using knowledge of
other professional areas, characterizes the medicolegal identification and is based on the application
of knowledge of forensic anthropology.1 Radiological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Did Roman Culture Change Over Time
Ancient Rome In this paper I will be talking about Ancient Rome and the Roman Republic. I will
briefly cover how the Republic began and how it changed throughout time. During this time, I will
provide information about the Romans culture and the different influences that affected said
culture. I will also talk about key people that were alive during this time and the part they played
in the Republic. Finally, I will finish off with how the Republic fell and the Empire rose in its place.
The Roman Republic Rome is believed to have been founded in 753 B.C.E and the Roman
Republic in 509 B.C.E, though this is not known for certain (Britannica). Historical writing in
Rome did not start until the late 3rd century B.C.E, which has left much room for interpretation of
when Rome and the Roman Republic really started (Britannica). The Republic began with the
overthrow of their Etruscan conquerors, who had ruled over them for over a hundred years ( The
Roman Republic ). The Etruscans were lead by Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, the last of Rome s
seven kings (Britannica). Following the overthrow of the Etruscans, The Romans set up a
government in which representatives were elected by citizens to rule on their ... Show more content

conflict with Rome s ( The Roman Republic ). Three bloody wars were fought between the two
sides, known as the Punic Wars ( The Roman Republic ). The first war was over the control of
trade in the western Mediterranean Sea ( The Roman Republic ). A second war started when a
Carthaginian general named Hannibal successfully invaded Italy ( The Roman Republic ).
Though he handed Rome a crushing defeat, he was unable to take Rome itself. After ravaging and
occupying Italy for over a decade, he was finally defeated by Scipio, a Roman general, in the Battle

The Lachman Test
The Lachman Test is an important diagnostic test for detection of Anterior Cruciate Ligament
(ACL) pathology (van Eck, 2013) and is frequently used by sports therapists. Joint arthrometry,
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and diagnostic arthroscopy are all well established methods to
evaluate the knee for the presence of an ACL tear. However, the clinical gold standard, with well
established levels of accuracy for detecting this injury, is the Lachman test, which is performed with
the patient in a supine position and the kneeat 20В° to 30В° of flexion (Benjaminse, 2006;
Ostrowski, 2006). The grading of the Lachman test is based on the amount of anterior translatory
movement (translation) of the tibia relative to the femur and on the end feel perceived by the
examiner. A positive test requires a soft end feel and observable translation of the tibia (Torg, 1976).

The patient s knee joint position during the Lachman s test might affect the grade given. Because
examiners do not agree on the position of the knee joint during the Lachman s test, reliability might
be affected if they do not place the knee in the same position each time they administer the test
(Donaldson 1985 ). Similarly, grading might be affected as experience of therapists differs from
each other. Hence, judgments based on the Lachman s test are inconsistent when made by
inexperienced testers, but such judgments become more reliable as testers become more
experienced (Dehaven, 1980; Noyes,

Andrew Wyeth Christina s World
Known as one of the most famous mid twentieth century paintings by American artist Andrew
Wyeth, Christina s World grows in popularity still to this date. Christina s World is much more
than the traditional landscape painting. It features a woman named Christina, who is a key subject
of the painting overall. Andrew Wyeth depicts Christina, and is able to portray her world in a
detailed manner, from an outward perspective while still being able to convey the relation of his
own struggles.
Now residing in the Modern Museum of Art in New York, this paintingis a direct correlation to the
artist s own emotions at the time. Painted in the summer of 1948, just three years prior to Wyeth s
father s death, the painting shows many changes that most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The grassy landscape is composed of dull browns, and muted greens conveying a sense of
loneliness or grief. This may be because of the inner struggles Wyeth himself was enduring after
the recent passing of his father. However, Christina really seemed to inspire Wyeth, and the
painting of Christina s World shows that. Even though he portrayed a plain, almost grief stricken
background, the main focus is on Christina, placed asymmetrically in the grass. She is wearing a
baby pink dress, which compared to the rest of the scene is contrasting to the other dull colors.
After rendering the figure and beginning to put color on her Wyeth said, I put this pink tone on
her shoulder and it almost blew me across the room. It draws attention to her, and acts as a
glimmer of hope. Hope for not only the struggle of Christina and her disease, but also hope for the
artist himself to find a pursuit of

High Level Of Social Cohesion
Currently, there has been growing importance of social cohesion all over the world. A cohesive
society is where people are safe against nay life risks, are trustful to their neighbors and
governmental institutions, and can have potential power to make better future for themselves
and their families (OECD, 2011). High level of social cohesion helps people can participate in
their civil right more positively and create opportunities for upward mobility, as well as it is a
glue for holding a society together. In addition, since the United Stated has been multi ethnic
country, the norm of social cohesion has been more focused according to growing body of ethnic
diversity. As such, social cohesion and a cohesive society have been becoming key values in the
current U.S. society. Moreover, there are a lot of challenges for adolescents in the current society.
They are struggling with overcome the considerable challenges in their lives, such as academic
pressure, family and peer relationship changes, social shift, and physical and emotional changes
which are result of maturation (WHO Regional Office For Europe, 2008). These factors have a
significant impact on adolescents life, such as their educational outcomes and mental well being.

Valjean In The Secret Life Of Victor Hugo
People have always viewed others who have made mistakes in the past as lesser beings. Victor
Hugo uses Valjean as an ideal figure to represent mistreatment given by the community for his
past mistakes. When Valjean first arrives at Digne, he enters the Croix de Colbas inn and is
forced out without service because it was known that he was an ex convict. As he is forced out,
Valjean, would have seen the innkeeper of the Croix de Colbas, standing at his doorway with all
his guests, and passers by gathered about him, speaking excitedly, and pointing him out, and from
the looks of fear and distrust was exchanged (10). Valjean being an ex convict is rejected by
society without a true reason. The people of Digne have no trouble pointing out that Valjean is an

When all Valjean wanted was to buy food, not to steal or rob but only to buy food, yet he is
thrown out because he is speculated to be dangerous. Not only did the people refuse to serve
him but the news articles lie about his actions. When Valjean reveals that he was the criminal
wanted, stealing again because he was given no option, he was arrested and news articles create
lies claiming he was an extremely dangerous man, a wretch, who is endowed with herculean
strength, managed to escape, but, three or four days afterward, the police retook him,in Paris,
just as he was getting into of the small vehicles, (141). The news conveyed Valjean as menace to
society but in reality it was the other way around. Before Valjean s arrest, he became a great
person for the town of Montreuil sur mer creating a kind community yet all that is overwritten
with the lies fed up by the news. The people completely forget all good in him, caring only for the
trouble he caused. Furthermore, when Valjean reveals to Marius that he is an ex convict, Marius

Explain why banks sometimes seek to merge with with or acquire other banks or financial
institutions.
Great changes have been experiences in banking industry for the past decades. The most apparent
alter is a mass of bank mergers, which have expanded both the average size of banks and their
territories. Other dramatic changes including the development of Internet banking and the
combination of banking with other financial services, for example, insurance and securities
underwriting are also encountered.

For example, the return on average assets in 2003 for the two merger targets, Bank One and Fleet
Boston, were 1.27% and 1.34%, respectively, while the top 50 bank holding companies averaged
1.28%. This indicates that the recent mega mergers are not motivated by economic weakness but
rather by other economic forces. Major changes in the banking system
One significant phenomenon in the nation s banking system is consolidation. The pace of mergers
had been expedited in the 1990s.
Some of these mergers made full use of new laws permitting banks to spread within and across
state lines. Other mergers were pursued to reduce costs, even though parts to be proven in vain.
Merger activity has decreased in recent days, and some specialists anticipate this is just a
momentary pause. Even if merger activity is unable to climb up to its previous levels, mergers
have influenced banking to some extent. One important effect of the recent merger wave has
been an increase in the role of large banking organizations. The biggest change here has involved
the so called mega banks banks with more than $100 billion of assets. Such banks are much less
important in rural markets than urban markets, but their share of rural deposits still increased
considerably during the 1990s from only 1.7% in mid 1990 to 8.2% in mid 2000. The rural deposit
share of regional and super regional banks ($10 to $100

Knights Vs Samurai Dbq Essay
Knights and Samurai are Far More Alike than They are Different Europe and Japan are 5,313
miles away from one another and their warriors at the time were very similar. The similarities
between the two started out by both empires falling and then they both developed feudalism. I think
it s crazy that they two empires so far apart can be so similar, not only their empires but those who
protect them. In this essay I will discuss the feudal system, military similarities, and their feelings
about death. The knights in Europe and the samuraiin Japan are extremely similar. The Samurai and
Knights have similar ways in their feudal systems. Document A shows us that the warriors are the
fourth ones down on the social pyramid. It also says that they both have the same jobs in their
society. Both of the empires developed a feudal system of ruling and gave their warriors the same
job. Document B further explains details of the warriors jobs. Both must be respectful to their lords

weapon training. Not only was the training of both the warriors similar, but their armor was also
similar. Document D says that the Samurai s armor was made of small iron plates and the Knight s
armor was made of chainmail. Chainmail was small metal rings linked together. The chainmail so
evolved into metal plates because of the development of stronger weapons. Both of the warriors

Lord Fogarty Essay
The first poem I will be discussing is Fellow Being by Lionel Fogarty. Sound techniques such as
consonance are used in this poem to invite the reader to understand how Australia can function as
an unwelcoming home to the Indigenous Australians. Fogarty writes in the poem that The kissing
of winds to trees are the love between aborigines . Through the repetition of the soft drawn out s
sound in the words kissing and trees , the quality of the sound portrays a sense of love and safety.
Furthermore, the word kissing , with its connotations of affection and love, and trees with its
inferences of freedom and life emphasises the connection indigenous Australianshad with the old
Australia. The reminiscent style of the poem reveals the inhospitable nature of modern Australia
towards Aborigines.
Fogarty also uses image techniques such as metaphors to describe the interdependent nature of the
relationship the indigenous Australians had with the land. By emphasizing this important
relationship, Fogarty reveals the fractured bond that the white Australians forced upon the
Aborigines. The phrase aboriginal is the bread equates the indigenous ... Show more content on

inhospitable home for indigenous Australians. Noonuccal describes the Aborigines as, A Semi

particular, the word subdued , with its connotations of unresponsiveness and being withdrawn,
further emphasises the conflict between the white and indigenous Australians. This conflict
ultimately separated the Aborigines from their land, resulting in Australia becoming a hostile home

The Importance of Overall Fitness of EMS Personnel
So, what is physical fitness? The definition I tend to use, which also pertains to the EMT in a
physically demanding situation, is old but worth including: Physical fitness is the ability to last,
to bear up, to withstand stress, and to persevere under difficult circumstances where an unfit
person would give up. No one wants to tell a patient in a life threatening state that they have to
catch their breath before they can continue patient care. Beyond the basic definition of physical
fitness, you should be familiar with its three general components: body composition;
cardiorespiratory endurance; and musculoskeletal fitness. These components can be measured
separately, and each assessment will provide information regarding your fitness level in each
specific category. For example, an individual may score well in cardiorespiratory fitness but
poorly in flexibility, or poorly in cardiorespiratory fitness, but well in muscular strength. Bettering
your overall physical fitness improves your ability to perform under physical stress and reduces
your risk of developing chronic lifestyle related diseases, such as diabetes, coronary artery disease
and hypertension. Body composition is used to describe the percentages of fat, bone, water and
muscle in human bodies. Because muscular tissue takes up less space in our

The Effects Of Television On Our Society
Last month Annie, my cousin, told me with anticipation that she will be size zero next week by
eating miracle herbal pill, which she ordered after watching its advert on television. I looked at
her with a contemptuous smile, and said You Wish . She started explaining to me how in the
advert her favorite singer lost 25 lbs. in just two weeks by using this overpriced herbal formula.
After two weeks, I visited her to see the awaited wonder, but I realized that she is one of the
victims of lured advertisements, which are now part of our everyday life. We see
advertisements on the television showing new glamorous lifestyles, hear them on the radio, see
slogans embellished on people s shirts, on the side of the buses, on billboards, in fact
everywhere. Companies spend lot of money researching for their target audiences to make their
product appeal to as many consumers as possible. The wide variety of channels and print media
makes it easy for advertisers to be specific about who sees their product. For instance, children s
channel like Nick Junior is packed with commercials for toys and games, whereas The Cookery
Channel that have an older, mainly female viewership air commercials for perfumes, clothes, and
holidays. The propagandatechniques are essential for the advertisers to create eye catching adverts
because they are in competition with all the other advertisements for the similar product. Examining
advertisements closely reveals that regardless of the similarities and

Armenian Genocide Essay
The world becomes a better place when there is humanity. Humanity exists when there are people
who have the desire to give, instead of take. When these generous people give without the
expectation of taking back, the world automatically offers them the better. There was poverty in all
the villages of Armenia. Armenian Christians were continuously under attacks. The attacks against
Christian Armeniansoccurred throughout the year 1915. This is the age that is well known for the
Armenian Genocide, which was carried out by the Ottoman Turks. Escaping the Ottoman forces, my
grandmother, Sosek Boghosian, found herself as a refuge in Iraq. Horrific acts continued to be
committed to my grandmother s descendants.
Many people had no place to live or sleep. I have interviewed my grandmother to make myself more
educated about the Armenian Genocide. She contributed to the Armenian culture in many different
ways. Mrs. Boghosian studied about the genocide from her beloved mother. Following her mother s
footsteps, she became more generous day by day. She contributed to the Armenian Culture by
teaching her children and grandchildren how to help one another. This was followed by donating
food, clothes and shelter for the kids in orphanages. These unfortunate children lost their guardians
in the genocide, along with 1.5 million other deaths.
The Armenian people lived in a very safe environment until some obstacles beset them. When the

and if the driver notices any difference in his or her driving capability. After completion of the
survey, I will compare the differences and similarities and see if I can come to a conclusion on
how to decrease this from occurring. For example, I will pay attention to which holidays or days
in general that driving while under the influence occurs the most. This will give me an idea as

and muscles. Though this disorder is not common it can be mild with little symptoms, disabling,
where there are a few problems that may occur or it can be life threatening. This disease is called
Epidermolysis Bullosa.
Epidermolysis Bullosa is a genetic disorder that causes the skin to blister even with the slightest

The lives can be cut short if internal organs start to blister. Also those who have EB are more
likely to have skin cancer than those without EB. Another way that life could be cut short is
because EB can cause sepsis which is when bacteria is spread all over the body via blood stream.
There are three main types of EB. Each is caused by a different mutation. The most common type
of EB is Epidermolysis Bullosa simplex (EBS). This variation is unlike the other two in the fact
that it is autosomal dominant. The gene that is mutated is called keratin 14 or KRT14 for short.
This gene in particular codes for keratins, a type of protein that forms skin, hair and nails. There
are over 60 mutations that have been found in people living with EBS from this gene alone. Keratin
14 is located on chromosome 17.
A second type of this disorder is called Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (JEB). This is an
autosomal recessive condition. Unlike EBS this variation of EB is more severe and causes
more blistering and it is easier to blister. Mutations caused on the collagen 17 gene which is
located on chromosome 10 along with laminin 5 which is located on chromosome 20. Just as
there are different variations of EB there are two different forms of JEB. There are Herlitz and
non Herlitz. Herlitz is more severe and often can cause fingers and toes to fuse together. Herlitz
JEB affects all the skin not just certain parts such as the knees, feet, hands and

It also struck me when I saw that they had planned another bombing in New York, this interested
me especially since it is so close to home. Now there are reports that the attack was supposed to
be done on the Fourth of July. This raises curiosity about security during the holiday and if we
will all be safe. I believe that everyone, at the time, was worried about there safety and anyone
would have chose this topic to do research on since it was still in the public eye. I learned quite a
bit about the psychological impact of the Boston Marathon Bombing. After researching the
effects, I realized how much trauma these innocent people went through during a moment that
was supposed to be joyous. People that were healthy and filled with life were either severely
injured or had there life taken away by a senseless act. Some of the injured victims will never be
able to walk again, others, never able to see their loved ones again. Martin Richard, an 8 year old
boy whose life was taken during the attack, will never get to see his family one more time. The
amount of grief the Tsarnev brothers caused can never be taken back and it has left a
psychological effect on the viewers and the victims runners, adults and children. Viewers across the

It is dawn in the Ugandan village. Bali awakens to the sound of her little brother stirring in his
sleep. She gets up and coos in his ear little sounds of endearment hoping to lull him back into a
placid slumber. Fortunately she is successful and her little brother continues his rhythmic snores,
but Bali does not get to continue resting. She must collect water, stone and wood; she must prepare
clean dishes and clothes. She must pound cassava root and collect fish; she must prepare food for
her family. By the time she finishes, it is 3:30 in the afternoon and she is enervated. Her juvenile
stature is much too frail for the amount of work expected of her, but it must be done. Though Bali
is six years old and should be attending primary school, she can not because she has to survive. Not
many children, especially in developing countries, have the opportunity to go to school. However
just because the children are immersed with chores, does not mean it is morally correct to neglect

Food Consumption And Cultural Identity Paper
The experience of food consumption is something shared amongst all humans across the world;
however it is also something that can separate or differentiate us from one another. Food is
greatly intertwined with identity in that is our food choices can say a lot about our personality,
What we eat and how we eat can reveal a lot about our personalities. In terms of culture, the foods
we cosume or don t consume can play a role in defing our identity. Culture is defined as the
values, beliefs and attitudes practiced and accepted by members of a group or community. Culture
is something that is learned and not inherited. Eating is a daily reaffirmation of one s cultural

Many of the locations in the movie within the USA corresponded to a certain mythological
location. A notable example of this would include the location of the third pearl that the
protagonists, Grover, Annabeth, and Percy went to retrieve, which was set in Lotus casino, Las

on the mythological country of the Lotus eaters . Evidently, as they enter, they are encouraged to

It is clear that the film is directed at young children and family viewers with the purpose of
educating the audience of ancient Greek mythology in a modernised, child friendly method.
This is clear in the portrayal of the gods in their common modern American apparel instead of
traditional Greek clothing(see appendix A and B). A further example of this is when Percy
Jackson uses the reflective back of an iPod for combat with Medusa, as it allowed him to view
her indirectly. In mythology, Perseus used the reflective shield of Athene for the same purpose.
The switching of the shield to an item of modern technology emphasizes the modification of
Greek myths in the film. Additionally, Hermes winged boots were portrayed as winged Converse
sneakers(See appendices C and D), given to Percy by Luke, demigod son of Hermes/Hermes
archetype. Converse sneakers are extremely popular in the most recent generations/children of the
modern day world, along with iPods, so the overall effect of this modernisation of mythology is that
no piece of equipment looks out of place. Moreover, since the mythology in this movie has been
modernised, it is a great way to entertainingly educate people about ancient Greek mythology. To
conclude, the target audiences of the film determined how it adapted and modernised mythology

REAL MADRID CASE STUDY
Summary
Real Madrid is one of the most storied sports franchises in the world. It is one of the few sports
teams with international appeal to a very broad fan base. This case delves into how Real Madrid
transitioned from a good soccer team with a winning history into the global sports juggernaut we
know today.
We first examined Real Madrids revenue streams and found that from their inception through the
1970s their business model was based almost entirely on their ticket sales. After the 1970s up until
2003 they had some media rights, a small merchandising department, and some other negligible
streams of income. It was in 2003 that team President Florintino Perez decided to make Real Madrid
into a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Execution of each stage allowed Real Madrid to take in revenue through several streams such as
match day and international competition, marketing(merchandise sold at the clubs web site and
stores, sponsorships, fan cards, etc. ), broadcast and pay tv revenue (Exhibit 1).
The club further evolved to identify 4 brand drivers that Perez stated would nurture and project the
Real Madrid brand worldwide. The first was the size of the audience, secondly the frequency in
which the audience engaged with the brand, thirdly, the socio demographic characteristics of the
audience and lastly, bridges that could be built to link the brand and the audience. Each of these
changes reflected the clubs transition to a global brand with marketing capability.
Growth opportunities for Real Madrid existed in both new and existing markets. With content seen
as the product, opportunities to provide new content to current markets were available through
pay tv and new technologies like movies, video games and use of the Real Madrid website. The
website could also be used to for additional merchandising as well. For new markets, winning on
the field was translated to good content and provided Real Madrid with an advantage over other
clubs in the battle to recruit new fans from international markets.
The greatest risk to Real Madrid s revenue streams was the prospect of losing on the field. Ideally,

Based on the monthly returns, the standard deviation or variability of each stock has been
calculated. The standard deviation for California REIT is 9.23% and the standard deviation for
Brown Group is 8.17%. This standard deviation is the monthly standard deviation for each of the
stocks. On the other hand the standard deviation of Vanguard Index 500 Trust is 4.61%. This shows

Q 4. How might the expected return for each stock relate to its riskiness? The expected return for
each of the stocks has been calculated by the Capital Asset Pricing Model. The risk free rate is one
of the variables used in the CAPM formula. The risk free rate has been assumed here at 7% based
on historical statistics as no information has been given regarding it. The second variable is the
return on market. This return has been estimated from the average monthly return by transforming
it into effective expected annual rate of return. Finally, the third variable used in the CAPM
formula is beta which has been calculated in the third question. This beta incorporates the
systematic risk in the formula to calculate the expected return for a particular stock. The
expected return for Brown Group is 14.87% and for California RIET it is 8.00%. This shows that
the expected return for Brown Group is much higher than the expected return of California RIET.
The reason for this is that Brown Group stock is much riskier than that of California RIET;
therefore, to compensate the high risk, higher return must be paid. When the potential investors
will come to invest in the Brown Group stock they will demand extra premium to compensate
them for the extra risk they are taking by investing in this stock. This is because of the basic
principle of risk and return, which says that higher the risk higher should be the return. Now it will
depend on the risk

people in social situations or speak to others in large groups. As a result of this, others often see

how I have adapted to this label over the course of my life. Within the study of deviance, the

The last option that Warren explained was rationalization of the relationships between two tax bases
such as income and social security taxes, state and federal taxes, and federal corporate and
individual income taxes. Integration of the corporate and individual income taxes has come to
mean eliminating the double burden of the corporate and individual income taxes, where it exists,
and substituting a system in which investor and corporate taxes are interrelated in a manner that
eliminates or reduces the foregoing distortions. The goal is to produce a uniform levy on capital
income, whether earned through corporate enterprise or not (Warren 9).
One popular method of tax reform that some of the experts in this field think is worth considering
is implementing a flat tax also known as a consumption tax. J. D. Foster says that any tax with a
single tax rate could be considered a flat tax. An article from the website Tax Policy Center defines
consumption as being income less savings (Gale). The major difference between an income tax and
a consumption tax is the way savings are taxed. With an income tax all income is taxed when it is
earned and again when interest is earned on any savings. Critics of an income tax say that this is

Argumentative Essay Boxing
Boxing a violent cage fight, or a crowd pleasing sport? Boxing is a high intensified sport that can
be seen as helping the fighter in life or permanently damaging the fighters future. Many say that
boxing is one of the safest sports; however, boxing can leave permanent brain damage from constant
punches to the skull. The sport boxingis for managers to earn money while their fighter is in the
ring fighting against another human until one gives up, or gets knocked out. A fight could be
the end of one s career, or even one s life. Boxing should be banned because the money earned
does not trump the risk of death, the mixed messages from fighters in the ring confuse the laws
regarding assault, and the constant punches to and athletes head leaves permanent damage. The
death of one is not worth the money earned from winning a fight. This is important to realize
because the expense of one s life is worth way more than the winnings of a cage fight. In On
Boxing, Joyce asserts directly why she thinks boxing is not a humanized sport: In the boxing
ring, even in our greatly humanized times, death is always a possibility which is why some of
us prefer to watch films or tapes of fights already past, already defined as history (source c). Joyce
is stating that many watch tapes from the past when boxing first started because it was much safer
then, than it is now. Also in On Boxing, Carol states directly her opinion for the sport boxing: In no

Diagnostic Coding And Procedural Coding
Medical Coding Essay Academic Essay Diagnostic coding and procedural coding lend themselves
well to the improvement of healthcare efficiency. Both have accurate recording for diagnoses and
the procedures enable the analysis of information for the patient s care, research, performance

chapters, sections, subsections, and subcategories (1). A coder should become familiar with all
of the codes before the individual moves on. It is very important to understand when an
additional code or codes are needed, what codes are secondary, and when additional information
may be needed to complete the code (1). Also, the coder should always code the reason why the
patient sought medical advice as the main diagnosis (1). There are many rules when using
diagnostic and procedural codes. By using the national diagnostic and procedural coding system
correctly the coder will have no trouble on finding the right codes to use for the case scenarios.
The information the coder needs to get from the health records is very important because this will

People which society deem are criminals are placed in a difficult situation of being cast out in a sense from society. Felonies for example stay on your record and create a story about you without context or understanding. Criminals also feel more secure with other criminals as stated in the labelling overview article, Once the person accepts a criminal label, they will most likely begin to associate with other criminals and increase their own criminal behavior (9), as that is where they will feel the most comfortable and less judged. I will briefly cover how the Republic began and how it changed throughout time. During this time, I will provide information about the Romans culture and the different influences that affected said culture. I will also talk about key people that were alive during this time and the part they played in the Republic. Finally, I will finish off with how the Republic fell and the Empire rose in its place. The Roman Republic Rome is believed to have been founded in 753 B.C.E and the Roman Republic in 509 B.C.E, though this is not known for certain (Britannica). • 5. The Lachman Test The Lachman Test is an important diagnostic test for detection of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) pathology (van Eck, 2013) and is frequently used by sports therapists. Joint arthrometry, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and diagnostic arthroscopy are all well established methods to evaluate the knee for the presence of an ACL tear. Even though he portrayed a plain, almost grief stricken background, the main focus is on Christina, placed asymmetrically in the grass. This indicates that the recent mega mergers are not motivated by economic weakness but rather by other economic forces. Major changes in the banking system One significant phenomenon in the nation s banking system is consolidation. The pace of mergers had been expedited in the 1990s. Some of these mergers made full use of new laws permitting banks to spread within and across state lines. Other mergers were pursued to reduce costs, even though parts to be proven in vain. Merger activity has decreased in recent days, and some specialists anticipate this is just a momentary pause. Even if merger activity is unable to climb up to its previous levels, mergers have influenced banking to some extent. One important effect of the recent merger wave has been an increase in the role of large banking organizations. The biggest change here has involved the so called mega banks banks with more than $100 billion of assets. Such banks are much less important in rural markets than urban markets, but their share of rural deposits still increased considerably during the 1990s from only 1.7% in mid 1990 to 8.2% in mid 2000. The definition I tend to use, which also pertains to the EMT in a physically demanding situation, is old but worth including: Physical fitness is the ability to last, to bear up, to withstand stress, and to persevere under difficult circumstances where an unfit person would give up. No one wants to tell a patient in a life threatening state that they have to catch their breath before they can continue patient care. Beyond the basic definition of physical fitness, you should be familiar with its three general components: body composition; cardiorespiratory endurance; and musculoskeletal fitness. These components can be measured separately, and each assessment will provide information regarding your fitness level in each specific category. For example, an individual may score well in cardiorespiratory fitness but poorly in flexibility, or poorly in cardiorespiratory fitness, but well in muscular strength. Bettering your overall physical fitness improves your ability to perform under physical stress and reduces your risk of developing chronic lifestyle related diseases, such as diabetes, coronary artery disease and hypertension. A notable example of this would include the location of the third pearl that the protagonists, Grover, Annabeth, and Percy went to retrieve, which was set in Lotus casino, Las Vegas, Nevada. This is an extremely significant setting, as it is named after, and therefore is based on the mythological country of the Lotus eaters . Evidently, as they enter, they are encouraged to eat lotus cookies, presented to them by each passing staff member. These lotus shaped cookies make them lose track of time, dulls their senses, and keeps them prisoner there, as they lose the will to leave. In Greek mythology, it was the flowery lotus fruit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is clear that the film is directed at young children and family viewers with the purpose of educating the audience of ancient Greek mythology in a modernised, child friendly method. This is clear in the portrayal of the gods in their common modern American apparel instead of traditional Greek clothing(see appendix A and B). A further example of this is when Percy Jackson uses the reflective back of an iPod for combat with Medusa, as it allowed him to view her indirectly. In mythology, Perseus used the reflective shield of Athene for the same purpose. The switching of the shield to an item of modern technology emphasizes the modification of Greek myths in the film. Additionally, Hermes winged boots were portrayed as winged Converse sneakers(See appendices C and D), given to Percy by Luke, demigod son of Hermes/Hermes archetype. Converse sneakers are extremely popular in the most recent generations/children of the modern day world, along with iPods, so the overall effect of this modernisation of mythology is that no piece of equipment looks out of place. Moreover, since the mythology in this movie has been modernised, it is a great way to entertainingly educate people about ancient Greek mythology. To conclude, the target audiences of the film determined how it adapted and modernised mythology for entertainment, as well as educational ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Real Madrid Essay REAL MADRID CASE STUDY Summary Real Madrid is one of the most storied sports franchises in the world. It is one of the few sports teams with international appeal to a very broad fan base. This case delves into how Real Madrid transitioned from a good soccer team with a winning history into the global sports juggernaut we know today. We first examined Real Madrids revenue streams and found that from their inception through the 1970s their business model was based almost entirely on their ticket sales. After the 1970s up until 2003 they had some media rights, a small merchandising department, and some other negligible streams of income. Execution of each stage allowed Real Madrid to take in revenue through several streams such as match day and international competition, marketing(merchandise sold at the clubs web site and stores, sponsorships, fan cards, etc. ), broadcast and pay tv revenue (Exhibit 1). The club further evolved to identify 4 brand drivers that Perez stated would nurture and project the Real Madrid brand worldwide. The first was the size of the audience, secondly the frequency in which the audience engaged with the brand, thirdly, the socio demographic characteristics of the audience and lastly, bridges that could be built to link the brand and the audience. Each of these changes reflected the clubs transition to a global brand with marketing capability. Growth opportunities for Real Madrid existed in both new and existing markets. With content seen as the product, opportunities to provide new content to current markets were available through pay tv and new technologies like movies, video games and use of the Real Madrid website. The website could also be used to for additional merchandising as well. For new markets, winning on the field was translated to good content and provided Real Madrid with an advantage over other clubs in the battle to recruit new fans from international markets. How variable are they compared with Vanguard Index 500 Trust? Which stock appears to be riskiest? The stock returns for each month are given in Table 1. Based on the monthly returns, the standard deviation or variability of each stock has been calculated. The standard deviation for California REIT is 9.23% and the standard deviation for Brown Group is 8.17%. This standard deviation is the monthly standard deviation for each of the stocks. How might the expected return for each stock relate to its riskiness? The expected return for each of the stocks has been calculated by the Capital Asset Pricing Model. The risk free rate is one of the variables used in the CAPM formula. The risk free rate has been assumed here at 7% based on historical statistics as no information has been given regarding it. The second variable is the return on market. This return has been estimated from the average monthly return by transforming it into effective expected annual rate of return. Finally, the third variable used in the CAPM formula is beta which has been calculated in the third question. This beta incorporates the systematic risk in the formula to calculate the expected return for a particular stock. The expected return for Brown Group is 14.87% and for California RIET it is 8.00%. This shows that the expected return for Brown Group is much higher than the expected return of California RIET. The reason for this is that Brown Group stock is much riskier than that of California RIET; therefore, to compensate the high risk, higher return must be paid. When the potential investors will come to invest in the Brown Group stock they will demand extra premium to compensate them for the extra risk they are taking by investing in this stock. This is because of the basic principle of risk and return, which says that higher the risk higher should be the return. Now it will depend on the risk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Boxing is a high intensified sport that can be seen as helping the fighter in life or permanently damaging the fighters future. Many say that boxing is one of the safest sports; however, boxing can leave permanent brain damage from constant punches to the skull. The sport boxingis for managers to earn money while their fighter is in the ring fighting against another human until one gives up, or gets knocked out. A fight could be the end of one s career, or even one s life. Boxing should be banned because the money earned does not trump the risk of death, the mixed messages from fighters in the ring confuse the laws regarding assault, and the constant punches to and athletes head leaves permanent damage.
