Bobsledding History
Competition
There are many sports in the Olympics and Bobsledding is one of them. The goal of the event is
to be the fastest on the bobsled track. In order to win the race your team has to have the fastest
time at the end of the race. They use timers for the race to get the score. Winner will be given
their medals at the end of winners are picked. The current world record is 125 mph set by Andre
Lange, Rene Hoppe, Kevin Kuske, and Martin Putze. They record was broken in the 1990 s. Men

most of this race is muscle. Most competitors in this race have been in track before and done
running events. They will usually sprint twice a week. So when training they will weight lift, but

The Importance Of Small Business In America
Small businesses in America have existed since civilizations first settled, whether people traded
goods in the place of currency, or offered services and talents for money. Over the past 100 years,
the small businesses and entrepreneurs of America have evolved in ways no one could have
predicted. From the invention of the internet to the sliding scale that is the American economy,
small businesses have seen their times of great success and struggle alike. With the changing
culture, obstacles may morph into opportunities, and, conversely, opportunities can turn into
obstacles. The presence of social media is an opportunity for businesses today but an obstacle for
businesses of the early 20th century; demand was an opportunity for businessowners in the 20th
century but an obstacle today; and economic fluctuation is an obstacle found in both time periods.
Unlike small businesses in the early 20th century, small businesses today can greatly benefit from
social media platforms. Not only can businesses run their own pages online, they can pay for ads
that promote their product in a unique and novel way. For example, social media can allow a
smaller business to grow on their chosen platform (such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and
increase the amount of potential customers that view their product(s) or service(s). Everyday, there
is an abundance of advertisements uploaded and viewed on several varieties of social media
platforms and [b]ehind these staggering numbers is a

Research Paper On Coca-Cola Bottlers
Coca cola bottlers incident led to the company s compromised reputation Gladys Loretta in
Surabaya
Sunday 3 May 2015 07.20 WIB
The Coca cola bottlers incident where union members and the workers are murdered started on
the 1990s. This incident is considered as a corporate crime. A corporate crime is a crime made
by a company that harms other people s lives. Sometimes they harm the ecosystem as well.
However, on this case, the Coca cola bottlers did not harm the ecosystem but they hurt their own
workers and the union members. Coca cola bottlers hired illegal paramilitary groups to
intimidate, threaten, and kill their own workers. These paramilitary groups also threatened to
lease a bomb attack on the union headquarters. All they did was to scare the lives of the union
members and the workers. They also hired far right militias of the United Self Defence Forces of
Colombia (AUC) to murder nine union members. Coca cola was able to dodge from this case as
they claimed that they weren t involved with the death of the union members. The killer itself is

In India, Coca Cola destroyed the local agriculture by using the natural resources, which is
supposed to be for public, for themselves (privatizing). This action caused the lack of water in
that area, affecting thousands of communities with water shortages and destroying agricultural
activity like farming. As a consequence, the water became polluted (contains high level of
chloride and contains a lot of bacteria), leading to diseases like scabs (skin disease), eye problems,
and diarrhea in the local population. This problem also supports that Coca cola s company is
somehow correlated to Karl Marx s theory. The action of Coca cola in privatizing the natural water

The Impact of Mental Illnesses and Health Problems from Work Related Stress on Employees in
Office Jobs
Introduction
Year after year a behavioral change began to impact her life; she became irritable, fatigued and
gained almost fifty pounds. She was no longer fun to be around and isolated herself away from
everyone. Her kids would ask if she was okay and knew something was wrong. The work related
stress and harassment she received from her bosses triggered symptoms of depression. The job
took place at Unknown Healthcare where she was an administrative assistant. An office job that
paid fairly well, however, was stressful because of the rigorous demands from the bosses and the
abusive behavior in which they treated her. She was working 9 5 everyday with some days of
overtime while being a single parent with two young kids. She decided it was in her best interest
to quit the job and find something where she would be happier and healthier. However the
damage was already done as she currently, to this day, suffers from chronic depression. After
leaving the job she began taking anti depressants and found a job that she loves. You can see a
huge improvement in behavior, as she has more energy and is enjoyable to be around again. She
will be interviewed in a different segment with regards to the study. Stress in the workplace is a
common safety and health issue in the 21st century and can lead to mental illnesses such as
depression if untreated for years. Not only

based out of London. Pearson began as a building contracting company, and over its 150 year
history, has transformed itself into a publishing company in the early twentieth century, and has
now shifted focus towards education (Pearson, n.d.). Pearson employs approximately forty
thousand employees with one third located in emerging markets (SEC, 2015). The company
officially shifted the corporate strategy towards global education and by streamlining technology in
2013 (Radjou Pradhu, 2013; Pearson, n.d.a). In 2012, Tim Bozik, the president of the higher
education division, began consolidating duplicative groups within higher education ahead of the
broader organization beginning its technology consolidation strategy; these assets were the result of
multiple acquisitions. At the time, higher education had technology divisions scattered across the
United States, India and Sri Lanka. The technology leaders were asked to solve the problem of
removing duplicative technology assets, and smartly execute the existing technology budget to
further higher education s goals. This paper reviews the decision making process the 2012

components of the problem solving process were skipped and how this impacted the outcome, as

popularity. This growing trend has added to an influx of corset companies placing new products on

consumers. On the flip side of the coin, however, are the endless knockoffs that are not offering the

Artificial Nigger and Judgement Day Analysis...
Artificial Nigger Judgement Day Analysis Regarding Color
After reading this story over five times I certainly think I have an understanding of what this
story is about. Mr. Head is an old racist who believes everything that he says is word. He is
domineering and seems to argue with Nelson whenever he gets the chance. Whether it be about
the place Nelson calls home or the color of skin. Nelson is only ten; it makes you wonder why a
man who is supposedly intelligent seems awfully absurd.
O Connor associates the role of color in regards to race. Through her portrayal of race, apart from
color, she draws a link between the roles people play in society. Not only do these elements of race
refer to color and positions in society, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As they dismount the train Nelson soon becomes aware that his grandfather is in fact lost.
When Nelson criticizes his grandfather for having gotten them lost, Mr. Head replies, If you
want to direct this trip, I ll go on by myself and leave you right here. O`Connor then depicts Mr.
Head as being pleased to see the boy turn white. This is very ironic because Nelson is in fact
white skinned. Following much talk of seeing Nigger after Nigger, the reader is left with the
feeling that Mr. Head is not only happy to have silence Nelson, but further emphasizes the very
color of Nelson s face. This solidifies the character of Mr. Head as one who is so disgusted by
Negros that he attempts to turn even his grandson whiter. As Nelson and Mr. Head continue on
in search of the train station to take them home, they come across a rich neighborhood full of
mansions. After having received directions from a passer by, Mr. Head catches the glimpse of a
plaster figure of a Negro just down the road. One of his eyes was entirely white and he held a
piece of brown watermelon. O Connor has chosen her words very carefully. No eye is completely
white, but in depicting this figure O`Connor wishes to show that in this world African Americans
are forced to see the world in white. Whiteness in this regard is being thrust upon them. Not only
are Negros forced to view the world in White, the

The Role Of Ignorance In Literature
Authors all write in different ways. They all have different minds and ideas. Even though
authors think differently, they still are alike in a weird way. They also don t think alike and they
all have their different ways of writing their thoughts. While reading all 4 different essays, I ve
learned a lot about trying to understand how other people think. All four essays have something
in common, and I believe that ignorance is one of the biggest common factors in all of the stories.
They may all have a different way in showing ignorance because every essay has a different story
line. It was easiest to spot out ignorance in Maya Angelous essay Graduation, rather than in Welty s

Edward, was a very ignorant man who thought that whites were the only people who could live up
to success, where she knew the facts and would prove to herself that she was an african american
woman who would be successful in her life.
That man, Edward, reminds me more of Berube s Paying for Freedom essay. Paying for Freedom
goes into say that we don t just get freedom, we have to work for it. Hard. We can t sit around and
wait for everything we want to just fall right into our laps. Nobody in life can be ignorant and
uneducated in the things they are trying to educate someone else about. They also need to
understand how to respect other opinions with certain things like that.
Ignorance is something that people don t always understand in today s time. There is something
about ignorance that people don t always understand. Maybe they don t understand what ignorance
is, but they seem to think that s actually the answer for some things. Ignorance plays a big part in
The Intellectual Free Lunch, by Kinsley. Kinsley goes on to teach us about how we need to know
the facts before we pass it on to others. We aren t allowed to come up with an answer to something
because we think it should be that way, we need to know the knowledge behind everything that we
try to pass onto others. We shouldn t be ignorant because we want an answer to something to be a
certain way, because if we all just came up with our own answers, we wouldn t know the truth
about a lot of things in

In this scenario, where a platoon of enemy combatants has taken refuge inside a school in a

an officer, it is my duty to follow the laws and punish those who break the law. I also must follow

The enemies are going to be alerted at this point that they are being attacked because of the
bombs that have been exploded. They will use villagers as human shields to protect themselves
against possible gunfire, which makes it difficult to save the villagers unharmed. Our
movements around the school need to be quiet and unrecognizable. We know these enemies are
not afraid to kill so, we approach them with caution. A couple of soldiers from the group will be
left outside to take down any enemies who try to escape from the school. Negotiating with the
main leader is our first option, telling the leader that he will have a surplus amount of money
with a safe getaway for the safety of the villagers. If the leader refuses, they could most likely try
to kill us. However, warning the leader, they only have 10 mins to get out the building, if not, the
whole building is blowing up with preset bombs located in the middle of the building. This action
is to show the leader we are not afraid to die, which in actuality, there was no bomb. Gunfire is
bound to happen, lives are going to be brought to an end, and traumatic experiences will never be
forgotten. Being trained soldiers, we have enough potential to make it out of the battle with more
injured than dead. Some mothers sacrifice their lives to save their children and some men gave

Imagine resting on the couch watching TV when a press of a button changes the world forever.
A flash of a shining light plunges everything into a murky darkness. The fading screams erupt
around you. Agony devours your bloody raw body and you look for your family, but they are

The atomic bomb is a weapon of mass destruction. In other words, In the atomic bomb, the very

Final Examination
The active participation of the people regarding their political culture is paramount to the durability
and vitality of their regime. That is, a population that fosters a positive spirit in support of their
government and ardently engages mutually within it will ultimately support a sturdy democracy.
Furthermore, a democracy standing on the virtues of trust and civic engagement within its people
will be able to stand tall and powerful because it s people will be able to cooperate to essentially get
more accomplished.
To begin, the primary element that defines a strong democracy is social capital. Social capital is
defined as, ...features of social organization, such as trust, norms, and networks, that can improve
the efficiency of society by facilitating coordinated actions, (Putnam 167). Putnam posits a very
effective example concerning social capital: ...a group whose members manifest trustworthiness and
place extensive trust in one another will be able to accomplish much more than a comparable group
lacking that trustworthiness and trust, (Putnam 167). In this example he highlights the importance
of a relationship built around trust and how it lends itself to getting more accomplished.
Through social capital, there is a spontaneous cooperation within the people. Spontaneous
cooperation emphasizes the value of trust, and the importance of being both reliable and honest as a

The Age of Exploration was one of the most influential time periods in European history. This

Failed Marriages In The United States Essay
Americans do not seem to be interested in a reality check on the topics of love and marriage.
After all, it seems to be more fun to believe in fairy tales (Hornblow). There is a large number of

examiner had given me mock weather. I also planned on waiting until the night before to check the
real weather and do real calculations.
In the mean time, I did the paperwork and hammered at the little oral exam prep book I had
purchased. By Wednesday, I had filled out the IACRA paper work about four times; it is a good
idea in theory, but leaves a little to be desired in practice. After ironing out all the details, I was

Obligation In Disney s The Little Mermaid
I want to be where the people are. I wanna see, wanna see them dancing . Ariel from Disney s The

opportunities that come with it. Arielis trapped by her father and that fact that she has a mermaidtail

Foils In Romeo And Juliet
What is a foil? Right away some may think of the aluminum sheets to cover or make things out
of. When thinking of a foil in the literature language, it creates a whole different mindset. A foil is
when two characters personalities are completely opposite from one another to accentuate each
other. William Shakespeare, writer of the love story Romeo and Juliet uses foils greatly among the
Montagues and Capulets. The Montagues and Capulets are the two families who have a rivalry
with each other. Their hate for each other causes a lot of unnecessary drama especially when it
comes between the love of young Romeo and sweet Juliet. Foils do make the story more interesting
to show how one can change another with a different personality. Mercutio

Predictably Irrational, by Dan Ariely, is a book that attempts to explain the nonsense
that we apply to our everyday habits. Through different experiments that Ariey and his

All of the principles written about in this book are applicable to today s society, mainly

least three aspects of this period that affected union activity. Be sure to give reasons and
examples to back up any claims made. The first seeds of the union movement in the United States
can be traced back to a few decades before the World War I. The economy of the country was
slowly turning capitalist and the affluent society gaining a strong hold in key decisions regarding
employment in established businesses across the States. This had resulted in the emergence of
political groups (Organized Labor World war, 2007)which were predominantly leftist or socialist in
their orientation. Some of them included organizations like the Socialist Party and the Industrial
Workers of the World (IWW). These movements gained popularity amongst the lower classes of
society through the messages that they consciously trickled down the lines about their objective of

The Danger of Nuclear Weapons versus the Necessity of...
Nuclear weapons continue to present a real threat to humanity and other life on Earth. Scholars of
international relations and policymakers share in the belief that the sheer power and
destructiveness of nuclear weapons prevent them from being used by friends and foes alike. Then
the real question becomes; what is the need for nuclear weapons? Nuclear weapons are defined as,
volatile device that originates its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a
combination of fission and fusion. Both reactions release massive amounts of energy from fairly
small amounts of matter. Nuclear weapons have greatly changed the way war is fought. Along with
these more dominant weapons come ways to control and countermeasure such power.... Show more

So this then is the dilemma: directly and indirectly, both strength and weakness of a county can
upset the balance of security and the status quo in international relations. With the development
of nuclear weapons becoming more and more common, could lead to countries wanting to
achieve an advantage over other. Syria s recent development and controversial testing of
biological weapons being a perfect example. This then begins a never ending cycle for power.
This can possibly lead to countries getting rid of the competition. Luckily no country wants to be
the first to start a nuclear holocaust. I am in favor of both nuclear disarmament and stricter
nuclear arms control. It s hard to trust so much power in the hands of mere man. I am in favor of
nuclear energy because of the reliability a few tons of radioactive can produce the same amount
of energy as hundreds of tons of coal, fossil fuels or natural gas. So significantly less energy is
expended on its transport to reactors. Also there is an increase in efficiency when it comes to the
usage of nuclear energy. Small amounts can give power to city for a longer period of time in
comparison to other convention energy sources. However in my mind the negative aspects
outweigh the positive benefits. Nuclear weapons aren t very precise weapons; they do not attack
the desired party. However nuclear weapons are destructive forces that annihilate anything within
the blast radius. Unlike conventional weapons,

How Is Freedom Shown In 1984
The dystopian society at the center of George Orwell s 1984, although written years earlier, raises
many challenges with freedom of speech and press. The novel mirrors numerous issues with the
media that have arose today, and with remarkable accuracy, especially considering that Orwell
wrote this novel during the the late 1940s. With the threat of Communism creeping towards
America s doorstep, Americans were focused on strengthening the government in order to withstand
the Communist threat. As a result of sharp increases in governmental power that were necessary to
defeat Communism, Orwell and many others began to see a vision of the future in which the

One woman wearing a red Trump hat was pepper sprayed in the face while being interviewed by
[a] CNN affiliate (Lah and Park). These liberal student protesters who are usually the first to
denounce restrictions on their freedoms were so blinded by their collective anger that they
themselves restricted freedom of speech by means of violence.
Orwell satirizes the herd mentality that drives society to conformity with the Two Minutes Hate, a
daily period of two minutes in which everyone must watch a film showing the Party s enemies and
must vigorously express their hatred towards them. Winston, the protagonist of the novel, notes that
the horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that
it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary.
A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a
sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning
one even against one s will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic (19). The Two Minutes Hate
demonstrates how easily fear and anger can be used to manipulate the people in a mob mentality.
When people let emotions run unchecked, violence results; freedom relies on civility, calm
expression of opinion, and respectful communication. In an attempt to silence the hate speech of
Yiannopoulos, the protesters lost control of their own hatred and anger.

Comparing the Beloved in Shakespeare s Sonnet 20 and Sonnet 130
In the hands of a master such as Shakespeare, the conventions of the sonnet form are manipulated
and transformed into something unique and originally emphasized. Both sonnets in one way or
another subvert the conventions of the base Petrarchan sonnet; though they are about love, the
traditional topic of sonnets, whilst in Sonnet 20 the object of desire is unattainable and there is no
evidence of the level of affection being requited, the target is male, and the target of the poet s
affections in Sonnet 130 is the poetic voice s current mistress. It also seems important to note that
love in neither of these cases is of the generic youthful female Aryan stereotype, and ... Show more

The poetic voice s mistress is of nature; no supernal gifts are hers. It is even strongly indicated
that she is beneath the highest forms of beauty nature has to offer (her eyes are nothing like the
sun , coral is far more red than her lips, no roses see I in her cheeks .) But this is to stray beyond
the confines of the original subject, the rest of the verse argues, because the love the voice has for
its lover is as rare as any other; beauty does not have to draw such clichГ©d parallels with nature to
be thought of in the mind of a lover as surpassing everything around it. In reference to this repeated
theme, in the introduction to the Penguin Classics printing of the Sonnets (though in reference
specifically to sonnet 84), editor John Kerrigan concludes:
Which hyperbolic poet , Shakespeare asks, which most sayer, can exceed this sublime truism, that
you alone are you . For you comprise the only things which, in honesty, you can be compared with .
This sonnet serves to invoke a strong sense of realism in love, arguing that as strong an intensity
of emotion as may be held, may be held, without the need for delusions of grandeur, taking the
view that trying to reconcile two essentially different and diverse things as equal is to do true
justice to neither. The beloved in this case thus represents more the need for a character developed
to challenge stereotype than an actual real life woman,

How Did Knights Affect Feudalism
Did you know that knights didn t just fight? Vassals impacted feudalism in many ways. Feudalism
was a system in which all classes needed each other. The church was a part of feudalism and laws
were another way that knights helped with feudalism. The job of the vassal helped feudalism meet
the need of its people.
Knights had many jobs within feudalism. One of the knights jobs was to fight when it was a time
of war. Most of the knights only served in battle when they were called for war by their lord
(Norman 122). If needed, all of a lord s vassals got called to war (Norman 123). The number of
days they would go out to fight varied from castle to castle (Norman 125). Knights were obligated
to do other duties besides to fight in wars. Another duty of the knights was guarding the castles of
their lords (Norman 124). Knights gave protection to the manor (Hooper, Bennett 156). A piece of a

these two people helped contribute to what America is today. The Constitution established America

Causes Of The California Gold Rush
In history whenever there is an event that can benefit or change the course of someone s life for
the better, people try to come and join the cause. This is what happened in the California and

gold was being found in California without a problem, You ll find it anywhere you dig down there.

The main purpose for this research is to explicit what effect humans have had and will have on the

all the world s fishes. The blue fin tuna unfortunately however, has been facing a constant and

The bluefin population has declined at a steady rate for several years and despite some measures
being taken to manage the population in the Atlantic, it still remains to be excessively hunted. The
species is prized by both wealthy sushi consumers due to its rich, fatty flesh and by fishermen who
can sell a single catch for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Currently, this combination has
brought the species to the brink of extinction, with environmentalists claiming the species has no
chance to recover if existing fishing practices are allowed to continue. The issue of the declining
bluefin population is not simply the dismissal of catch limits, but also the ways in which fish are
caught. One of the most wasteful fishing techniques is the use of surface longlines. These lines
reach up to forty miles in length with baited hooks attached along the lines. The lines are deployed
in spawning areas where hundreds of bluefin are caught along with other non target species every
year. Conservationist groups have encouraged the National Marine Fisheries Service to ban the use
of longlines in the Gulf during spawning season to give stocks time to recover. In addition to
longlines, purse seining is another wasteful, yet commonly used, fishing technique. This involves

Ludwig Van Beethoven And The Romantic Era
In order to explore the career of Ludwig van Beethoven, and his bridging the gap between the
classical and romantic eras of music, this essay will examine the style of music and its features,
most commonly associated with the Classical era (1750 1820), and those of the Romantic era
(1815 1820) . It will look at some musical examples from Beethoven s work, how they fit into
each of the eras, and also how they transition from one era to the next. Beethoven s career spans
both eras mentioned above, from his public debut in Vienna in 1795 to his death in 1827. This
essay will strive to explore the reasons why Beethoven is called a transitional composer. To begin
a discussion on the classical era, let us first look at some typical musical features of the era and
how Beethoven used and developed them in his works.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking at melody lines to begin with, composers in the romantic era tended to use longer
phrases which were more songlike. Melodies tended to lead to a climax or peak and the use of
chromaticism and expression increased. Beethoven s development of expression was second to
none, some of this possibly owing to the trauma that he suffered, both as a boy, in the hands of
his father, and as a man with his increasing deafness and the unrequited love. Beethoven s music
sets in motion the lever of fear, of awe, of horror, of suffering, and wakens just that infinite
longing which is the essence of romanticism. Beethoven s symphony in C minor was mentioned
earlier in this essay, and was used to show features of the classical era. This symphony epitomises
the transition from classical to romantic as it contains the forward moving features of the romantic
era as well. The longer melody line climbs and climaxes and leads the listener forward into the

with the people he loves, he will accept. When Mr. Raymond comes to town, he is often seen
accompanied by a bottle in a brown paper bag. The bottle is speculated to be whisky but Jem,
Scout, and Dill learn that Mr. Raymond is only drinking Coca Cola. The children ask why he
lies to the public about being a drunkard and he tells them, It ain t honest but it sure helps[...]
Dolphus Raymond is ahead of the time he lives in and does not want to be bothered for it. He
chooses to be viewed as a man who cannot stay sober enough to realize the situation he is in. If
the town of Maycomb knew Mr. Dolphus is not in fact constantly intoxicated, there would be
outrage around his lifestyle, consequently Raymond would not receive the peace and quiet he
yearns for. His philosophy around this is that if people are going to judge and think bad of him
anyway, he might as well do something to ease their minds when they ask themselves how a white
man can live the way he does. The Finch children and Dill make a point that Mr. Raymond comes
from a wealthy family and surely has the means to live somewhere nicer than the outskirts of town
with the coloured people. Still curious, they ask why he

Heritage Speech Reflection
Heritage Speech reflection
My dependable dad, for my heritage speech I spoke about my dad. I shared on February sixth
how he shows his dedication to both his job and family along with some past memories we ve
shared together and advice he has taught me. Before I shared my speech I was very nervous
because I m know as the shy girl that never raises her hand even if she knows the answer. Although
I was confident I knew my speech and practiced it many times so I knew there shouldn t be
anything to be scared of. My speech had some positives, one of which was the fact that I used the
SA walking method, made eye contact throughout and showed some emotion like laughing or
smiling at the past funny stories. My structure was good and the transitions

Veterinary Clinic Ethical Dilemmas
Ethical Scenario 5: I am a co owner of Happy Pets Veterinary Clinic and I am concerned about
my partner stealing and using drugs from our clinic while working. As the co owner of Happy
Pets Veterinary Clinic, it is my responsibility to make sure the patients and their owners have a
pleasant appointment while here, and their pets get the best care possible. The ethical dilemma is
that Alex, my best friend from college and part owner of the clinic, is stealing ketamine, an
anesthetic that is used to sedate our patients. One relevant piece of information is that one day
when counting stock, I realized that several bottles of ketamine were missing. I also noticed that
Alex had been acting strange over the past few weeks, like he was constantly... Show more content

As a friend, I feel as though we were close enough for him to tell me if anything was wrong or if
he could not handle the stress of the job, and I want him to get the help he needs in the hopes
that he will one day be back to the best friend that I had in college. It was so shocking finding out
that he was using such a harsh drug that he was stealing from the clinic. As Drug Info states,
ketamine is a drug that can change thinking, the way you feel, and timing; it can also cause
personality and mood changes with depression in users who have been using it long term (2014).
Alex s irrational behavior towards me when I asked him about the situation was because he is on
this hardcore drug and if he acted like that towards me, who knows what else that drug will cause
him to do. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association principles, Section II N,
veterinarians who are under the influence should not act as a veterinarian and should seek help
from qualified personnel or organizations (2014). The steps that I have to take are following basic
protocol and ensuring that everyone involved is

  • 3. The Importance Of Small Business In America Small businesses in America have existed since civilizations first settled, whether people traded goods in the place of currency, or offered services and talents for money. Over the past 100 years, the small businesses and entrepreneurs of America have evolved in ways no one could have predicted. From the invention of the internet to the sliding scale that is the American economy, small businesses have seen their times of great success and struggle alike. With the changing culture, obstacles may morph into opportunities, and, conversely, opportunities can turn into obstacles. The presence of social media is an opportunity for businesses today but an obstacle for businesses of the early 20th century; demand was an opportunity for businessowners in the 20th century but an obstacle today; and economic fluctuation is an obstacle found in both time periods. Unlike small businesses in the early 20th century, small businesses today can greatly benefit from social media platforms. Not only can businesses run their own pages online, they can pay for ads that promote their product in a unique and novel way. Research Paper On Coca-Cola Bottlers Coca cola bottlers incident led to the company s compromised reputation Gladys Loretta in Surabaya Sunday 3 May 2015 07.20 WIB The Coca cola bottlers incident where union members and the workers are murdered started on the 1990s. This incident is considered as a corporate crime. A corporate crime is a crime made by a company that harms other people s lives. Sometimes they harm the ecosystem as well. However, on this case, the Coca cola bottlers did not harm the ecosystem but they hurt their own workers and the union members. Coca cola bottlers hired illegal paramilitary groups to intimidate, threaten, and kill their own workers. These paramilitary groups also threatened to lease a bomb attack on the union headquarters. All they did was to scare the lives of the union members and the workers. They also hired far right militias of the United Self Defence Forces of Colombia (AUC) to murder nine union members. Coca cola was able to dodge from this case as they claimed that they weren t involved with the death of the union members. When Nelson criticizes his grandfather for having gotten them lost, Mr. Head replies, If you want to direct this trip, I ll go on by myself and leave you right here. O`Connor then depicts Mr. Head as being pleased to see the boy turn white. This is very ironic because Nelson is in fact white skinned. Following much talk of seeing Nigger after Nigger, the reader is left with the feeling that Mr. Head is not only happy to have silence Nelson, but further emphasizes the very color of Nelson s face. This solidifies the character of Mr. Head as one who is so disgusted by Negros that he attempts to turn even his grandson whiter. As Nelson and Mr. Head continue on in search of the train station to take them home, they come across a rich neighborhood full of mansions. After having received directions from a passer by, Mr. Head catches the glimpse of a plaster figure of a Negro just down the road. Nuclear weapons are defined as, volatile device that originates its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a combination of fission and fusion. Both reactions release massive amounts of energy from fairly small amounts of matter. Nuclear weapons have greatly changed the way war is fought. Along with these more dominant weapons come ways to control and countermeasure such power.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So this then is the dilemma: directly and indirectly, both strength and weakness of a county can upset the balance of security and the status quo in international relations. With the development of nuclear weapons becoming more and more common, could lead to countries wanting to achieve an advantage over other. Syria s recent development and controversial testing of biological weapons being a perfect example. This then begins a never ending cycle for power. This can possibly lead to countries getting rid of the competition. Luckily no country wants to be the first to start a nuclear holocaust. I am in favor of both nuclear disarmament and stricter nuclear arms control. It s hard to trust so much power in the hands of mere man. I am in favor of nuclear energy because of the reliability a few tons of radioactive can produce the same amount of energy as hundreds of tons of coal, fossil fuels or natural gas. So significantly less energy is expended on its transport to reactors. Also there is an increase in efficiency when it comes to the usage of nuclear energy. Small amounts can give power to city for a longer period of time in comparison to other convention energy sources. However in my mind the negative aspects outweigh the positive benefits. Nuclear weapons aren t very precise weapons; they do not attack the desired party. However nuclear weapons are destructive forces that annihilate anything within the blast radius. Unlike conventional weapons, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The novel mirrors numerous issues with the media that have arose today, and with remarkable accuracy, especially considering that Orwell wrote this novel during the the late 1940s. With the threat of Communism creeping towards America s doorstep, Americans were focused on strengthening the government in order to withstand the Communist threat. As a result of sharp increases in governmental power that were necessary to defeat Communism, Orwell and many others began to see a vision of the future in which the government became so powerful that the freedoms of the people no longer existed.... These liberal student protesters who are usually the first to denounce restrictions on their freedoms were so blinded by their collective anger that they themselves restricted freedom of speech by means of violence. Orwell satirizes the herd mentality that drives society to conformity with the Two Minutes Hate, a daily period of two minutes in which everyone must watch a film showing the Party s enemies and must vigorously express their hatred towards them. Winston, the protagonist of the novel, notes that the horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one s will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic (19). The Two Minutes Hate demonstrates how easily fear and anger can be used to manipulate the people in a mob mentality. When people let emotions run unchecked, violence results; freedom relies on civility, calm expression of opinion, and respectful communication. In an attempt to silence the hate speech of Yiannopoulos, the protesters lost control of their own hatred and anger. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing the Beloved in Shakespeare s Sonnet 20 and Sonnet 130 In the hands of a master such as Shakespeare, the conventions of the sonnet form are manipulated and transformed into something unique and originally emphasized. Both sonnets in one way or another subvert the conventions of the base Petrarchan sonnet; though they are about love, the traditional topic of sonnets, whilst in Sonnet 20 the object of desire is unattainable and there is no evidence of the level of affection being requited, the target is male, and the target of the poet s affections in Sonnet 130 is the poetic voice s current mistress. The poetic voice s mistress is of nature; no supernal gifts are hers. It is even strongly indicated that she is beneath the highest forms of beauty nature has to offer (her eyes are nothing like the sun , coral is far more red than her lips, no roses see I in her cheeks .) But this is to stray beyond the confines of the original subject, the rest of the verse argues, because the love the voice has for its lover is as rare as any other; beauty does not have to draw such clichГ©d parallels with nature to be thought of in the mind of a lover as surpassing everything around it. In reference to this repeated theme, in the introduction to the Penguin Classics printing of the Sonnets (though in reference specifically to sonnet 84), editor John Kerrigan concludes: Which hyperbolic poet , Shakespeare asks, which most sayer, can exceed this sublime truism, that you alone are you . For you comprise the only things which, in honesty, you can be compared with . This sonnet serves to invoke a strong sense of realism in love, arguing that as strong an intensity of emotion as may be held, may be held, without the need for delusions of grandeur, taking the view that trying to reconcile two essentially different and diverse things as equal is to do true justice to neither. The bluefin population has declined at a steady rate for several years and despite some measures being taken to manage the population in the Atlantic, it still remains to be excessively hunted. The species is prized by both wealthy sushi consumers due to its rich, fatty flesh and by fishermen who can sell a single catch for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Currently, this combination has brought the species to the brink of extinction, with environmentalists claiming the species has no chance to recover if existing fishing practices are allowed to continue. The issue of the declining bluefin population is not simply the dismissal of catch limits, but also the ways in which fish are caught. One of the most wasteful fishing techniques is the use of surface longlines. These lines reach up to forty miles in length with baited hooks attached along the lines. The lines are deployed in spawning areas where hundreds of bluefin are caught along with other non target species every year. Conservationist groups have encouraged the National Marine Fisheries Service to ban the use of longlines in the Gulf during spawning season to give stocks time to recover. Ludwig Van Beethoven And The Romantic Era In order to explore the career of Ludwig van Beethoven, and his bridging the gap between the classical and romantic eras of music, this essay will examine the style of music and its features, most commonly associated with the Classical era (1750 1820), and those of the Romantic era (1815 1820) . It will look at some musical examples from Beethoven s work, how they fit into each of the eras, and also how they transition from one era to the next. Beethoven s career spans both eras mentioned above, from his public debut in Vienna in 1795 to his death in 1827. To begin a discussion on the classical era, let us first look at some typical musical features of the era and how Beethoven used and developed them in his works.... Melodies tended to lead to a climax or peak and the use of chromaticism and expression increased. Beethoven s development of expression was second to none, some of this possibly owing to the trauma that he suffered, both as a boy, in the hands of his father, and as a man with his increasing deafness and the unrequited love. Beethoven s music sets in motion the lever of fear, of awe, of horror, of suffering, and wakens just that infinite longing which is the essence of romanticism. Beethoven s symphony in C minor was mentioned earlier in this essay, and was used to show features of the classical era.
