Essay About Lovy
Once upon a time in Fairy land high above the clouds, there lived a young fairy child named
Lovy with her two elder sisters and her Queen Fairy Mother. The youngest Fairy Lovy was not
mature at all she was more interested in what was going around on Earth. While her elder sisters
listened and learned magiclessons from their FairyMother and learned all the fairy tricks, Lovy
giggled and played games and made up stories and used her fairy imagination to think about
children and playing with them in other lands. In fairy land it was forbidden for fairies to talk to
children on Earth, they were supposed to remain invisible through the power of their magic in front
of land people.

ISO 13485: 2003 December 7, 2014 Project Quality Management Assignment 2. Introduction: ISO
13485:2003 is an International Organizational for Standardization published in 2003. This
international standard requires specifications for a quality management system where an
organization needs to provide for designing or manufacturing medical devices. These requirements
are essential for any organization that provides services that are related to medical devices
disregarding the type or the size of the organization. Medical products have to be compliance with
ISO 13485 to achieve compliance with European regulatory requirements. The main purpose of this
international standard is to facilitate compliance to global regulators and requirements as a
management responsibility. In addition, in some countries such as European countries it is
necessary for companies to be certified with ISO 13485 to legally sell or market their medical
devices. On the other hand, ISO 13485 is similar to ISO 9001 but they are slightly different. ISO
9001 is focused on ensuring that an organization must continually improve the quality system and
provide products that satisfy customer requirements. Whereas ISO 13485 ensures that an

Definition Essay On Positivity
Who Am I? I m in 7.125 billion of you, humans, I m a spirit inside of you. I normally don t want
to hurt you, but I have to or else I ll die. I m only active in 350 million people in counting and it s
not fun. They didn t choose this life I chose it for them with your help of course. Together we
caused those 350 million people to hurt themselves and others, and make them feel like a waste of
space. Some humans think that I am switch that other humans can turn on and off. It s not, the only
way to get rid of me is to get treatment and surround yourselves with positivity. Positivity is the only

The answer is simple, they forgot about her, now it sounds sad, but it s true, she d run and stay
with Bakers for weeks and months at a time, and her parents never notice, they were too self
absorbed. Now Kathleen and Vincent heard about a group called the Flames, a group of
Lighters and thought, we ll make a group of Celebrities, to fight back . The named their group of
100 the Socialites. They aren t very organized, all the members , more like servants, just take
orders from Vincent and Kathleen, and most of the time Kathleen and Vincent can t decide on
what the order is and wound up bickering. The Socialites may be unorganized, but they do know
how to fight. By now the Flames have killed over half of the Celebrity population all they have
left is the Socialites and a few outliers. The other outliers should be easy to take out, it s the
Socialites that I m concern about. Kathleen and Vincent have no idea that Astrid runs the Flames,
but Astrid knows her parents run the Socialites. Also, the Socialites aren t that organized, but they
re very skilled with weapons and they all want to defeat the Flames. They ll ban together
somehow, just to defeat the Flames. If you are wondering why they have to defeat the Socialites, it
s because defeating them will take the fear and hold the Socialites have over the rest of the

Why The Imperial System Should Be Abolished Essay
Why the Imperial System Should be Replaced
A few months back, I was in a car with my father driving down the 409, and I wondered, How
many feet are in a mile anyway? So I asked my Dad, who didn t know. This made me wonder if
the imperial system as a whole was just a waste of time. Even though a considerable amount of
people think the US should stay in the imperial system, switching to the metric system would help
prevent doubt of the people in their very own system of measurement, and devastating accidents.
The imperial system is dying, and the people may be losing faith in this dying system. The imperial
system has remained in effect in America since they broke off from the British colonies. Because of
that, one may think that they d make a new system, because they wouldn t want ... Show more

So, the main arguing point for the imperial system s side is Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit is more
specific than Celsius by around 2 times, and has been around longer, but other than that, there
really isn t any other selling points. The imperial system can also be more useful for real world
measurements, such as inches, feet, yards, and cups. This differentiates from the metric system,
dividing by tens, while the imperial system divides by threes, fours, sixes and twelves, like 12
Inches to a foot, 3 feet to a yard, and 4 cups to a pint. The imperial system has a large amount of
units used only in very specific areas, such as furlongs, hogsheads, drams, and long tonnes.
Furlongs are only used to measure horse racing tracks, hogsheads were used to transport tobacco,
and drams used to be used to measure minuscule amounts of fluids. In all honesty, the imperial
system is an outdated tool of measurement on the brink of collapse, and doesn t have a valid
enough argument to stay as the USA s primary system of

Femmer s Murder Is Wrong
The Natural Law Theory suggested that Elmer s murder is wrong because it violates moral
principles. While I do agree with this, Gray makes a strong argument in the sense that the court is
expected to follow the law created by the people in authority. Before Francis s death, there was no
mistakes in the will and the language of the statute governing wills was clearly written, making it a
valid one. In other words, the court is required to uphold the validity of the will. In placing morality
above the demands of the law, the majority judges meets the burden of overruling the written law.
Therefore, positivists would agree that the rules governing wills must be applied as written and that
a benefactor must inherit. It is true that the law can

Sociological Factors Of Abortion On Society
4. Sociological Factors Abortion can have several effects on the society. Some may be noticeable,
and others less. Abortion increases the amount of unintended pregnancies and deaths, and can affect
the economy due to low birth rates (Dailard, 2001). Legalizing abortion reduces the consequences
of having a child which increases the amount of sexual activity (Dailard, 2001). This results in the
large number of children being conceived than there would have been if abortionwasn t as available
(Dailard, 2001). Some women who have unintended pregnancies will seek out an abortion
regardless of its legal situation, even if it can put their lives in danger (Dailard 2001). In many
countries where abortion is illegal, women tend to get abortions at a very high rate (Dailard, 2001).
It is estimated there are around six hundred thousand pregnancyrelated deaths, and out of those,
there were seventy eight thousand that are caused by complications due to unsafe abortions
(Dailard, 2001). As the death rates increase, the birthrates decrease. As shown in a study in New
Zealand, in some developing countries, abortion is leading to lower birthrates ( Impact of
Abortion on Society ). Those lower birthrates can lead to a decrease in sales ( Impact of Abortion
on Society ). In the twenty two years leading up to 1999, there were over two hundred thousand
abortions, which led to the fewer sales of children items ( Impact of Abortion on Society ). As
abortion has not severely effected society

This essay focuses on the theme of forbidden love, The God of Small Things written by
Arundhati Roy. This novel explores love and how love can t be ignored when confronted with
social boundaries. The novel examines how conventional society seeks to destroy true love as this
novel is constantly connected to loss, death and sadness. This essay will explore the theme of
forbidden love, by discussing and analysing Ammu and Velutha s love that is forbidden because of
the Love Laws in relation to the castesystem which results in Velutha s death. It is evident that
forbidden love negatively impacts and influences other characters, such as Estha and Rahel, which
results in Estha and Rahel s incestuous encounter.

Rahel and Sophie Mol visit Velutha and have a tea party, he greeted them with the utmost
courtesy , suggests that he respects and admires the children. It is only now, these years later, that
Rahel with adult hindsight , recognized the sweetness of this gesture. A grown man entertaining
three raccoons, treating them like real ladies , this implies that Velutha is extremely playful with
the children as he lets them paint his nails red as well as they come dressed as ladies in saris and
it is only now that Rahel realises how kind it was of Velutha to play along with their game.
Estha and Rahel accept that they have no Baba, but are immensely influenced when their mothers

Well Being Assessment
The Human Well Being Index 10 Geography Melony Weir This report serves as a means of
explaining and evaluating The Human Wellbeing Index (aka the HWI). Consisting of several
general well being indicators, the HWI was created in hopes of providing a greater insight into
living conditions in various countries. To measure and compare the quality of life for people
across the globe, several well being indicators were carefully selected and analysed. These
indicators were thought to most appropriately represent human well being in each country as they
covered areas such as education, the economy, and population. Having established that the HWI
indicators were used to determine the general living standards in each country, the facts and
figures collected were then used to create an average well being ranking system. This system
ranked each country from highest to lowest levels of life quality and human well being. The
remainder of this report will include a background on general human well being, a description of
each indicator used, the results of the HWI, and finally, an evaluation of its overall effectiveness.

Artemision Bronze Essay
The Artemision Bronze creator is still in debate and has been credited with either being created
by several great sculptors such as Boeotia, Aegina, Sicyon, Argos Onatas, Myron and Nesiotes.
Any of these sculptors could have created this marvel which is questioned to be either Zeus or
Poseidon due to its missing weapon. The Artemision Bronze was said to be created around 460
B.C.E, also known as the Classical Period where Greek Sculptures began to transform into realistic
human forms along with the rise of Democracy and the fall of the Aristocratic culture. As of today,
the Artemision Bronze is held in National Archaeological Museum in Athens, Greece along with
several other important statues like Diadoumenos, the Varvakeion Athena, etc. The statue has been
said to have the theme of Severe Style because of the statue s simplicity and the severity of its

Additionally, it offers a recipe function via the interactive display located on the door, which is
conveniently connected to the user s smartphone through a cloud computing. This smart technology
ceases the days of forgetting products in the fridge and limited immediate access to recipes. In the
following part I will introduce the features of the SmartFridge in detail.
Laser system
The laser system integrated into our product is the main innovation. It enables the exact
determination of which products are located inside the fridge and these are arranged clearly on
the display. The laser system captures the barcode of the products in order to obtain the
information needed. Thereby it also determines the expiration date. Products that are expiring soon
are highlighted in order to ensure a quick consumption. Products that do not have a barcode, such
as fruits, can make use of the silk sensor technology that allows the laser to capture the products as
well. Finally, a manual entry of products can be made via smartphone or at the display.
Heat regulator
The heat regulator enables the constant maintenance of an adequate temperature. This prevents
products located at the top section from freezing while other products at the bottom section are not
kept cool. As a result, the temperature in the overall storing area of the SmartFridge

Analysis Of A Perfect Day For Bananafish
Experience, which destroys innocence, also leads one back to it. James Baldwin. A Perfect Day for
Bananafish by J.D. Salinger, and Home by George Saunders depicts the search the protagonists,
Seymour and Mikey, go through to retrieve their innocence that they once lost while fighting in the
war. Fighting in any war is absolutely terrifying and can leave permanent damage on someone
forever emotionally and mentally, thus leading them to lose their innocence. The effects that the
war has left on them and how it impacts their lives are visible in multiple ways. Both short stories A

He immediately has a sense of where Muriel could possibly be. Likewise in the short story Home ,
the protagonist, Mikey, has also returned from the Afghan war. He expresses his anger towards
the materialism that his respective society portrays. He notices materialism by seeing the extra
amount of cars that his close ones have. One car was a Saab and one an Escalade and the third a
newer Saab...Three cars for two grownups...What a country. (George Saunders). This quote is
referring to the fact that Mikey s ex wife, Joy, and her new husband, Evan, have three cars for the
two of them. Mikey is bothered that society is so full of money oriented people. Furthermore in
Home , Mikey is upset that Renee s in laws can adopt Russian babies and get their cleft lips
fixed; but his own mother cannot even adopt a Canadian baby. He is upset about the difference
in wealth between his family and his sister s family. We can t afford to fly a bunch of Russian
babies over here, but I think, in our own way, we do just fine. (Saunders). Despite the fact that
Renee s in laws did not pay for the treatment for the cleft lips, (the Flemings did), they still play a
role in the process. From this example, Mikey disapproves and sees how superficial and money
obsessed society is. To sum up, both protagonists from the short stories A Perfect Day for
Bananafish and Home display the criticism against the

Cognitive Neuroscience Essay
Cognitive neuroscience is the study of how the brain is able to process and function through the
stimulation of neurons. The broad nature of this field allows much involvement in the scientific
community including not only psychologists working to further understand the functions of the
human brain, but also physicists, mathematicians, and other science related areas of study by
bringing knowledge and simulations from the outside world and relating them to the processes of
our own minds. In addition to researching the basis of normal cognitive functions in an average
brain, cognitive neuroscience studies development of the brain, as well as damage to the brain
including how the damage will affect normal operations of that brain in the future.
The study of cognitive neuroscience began as a result of a movement to, rather than focus studies
on behavioral actions, study the operational characteristics of the brain and how they related to
knowledge, memory, understanding, and other processes. The overall field of cognitive science has
evolved and split into many different subjects including cognitive psychology, cognitive biology,
cognitive neuropsychology, and others which are all based on furthering our understanding of the
mental processes of the brain. Early cognitive neuroscience was based on discovering which parts

Tsunami is not just a single giant wave, it may even consist of ten or more waves which is then
termed as: Tsunami Wave Train . Tsunami possesses kinetic energy and a mass of water which can
cause devastation through kineticism and flooding. There is an international tsunami warning
system and certain regional tsunamiwarning systems are also in placed.
Pakistan is shielded to a greater extent from the Tsunami of the Pacific Ocean and Bay of Bengal
due to the Indian land mass, however, Tsunamis accruing in the Indian Ocean do effect us. In 1935
a Tsunami struck the Pakistan coast killing nearly 4000 people.
Cyclone
Cyclone is basically a low atmospheric pressure region surrounded by high atmospheric pressure
due to which there are powerful winds accompanied by rain. These are normally found in the
tropical and temperate regions of the world. Cyclones are also known as Typhoons, Hurricanes and
Tornadoes. Cyclones are normally found in the sea and finish off in the sea, however, certain
cyclones intrude inland and cause death and destruction.
Pakistan has been lucky that Cyclones in this part of the world are not very frequent. This may
have in part to do with the makeup of the Arabian Sea. However, Cyclones which have occurred in
the past did cause considerable damage to the coastal areas affecting the livelihood of the people
living on the coast.

Self Denial And Self-Denialing In Miss Brill By Katherine...
There are millions of people who live in self denial and self rejection. When one thinks of self
denial, most people picture a young person trying to find his or her way through society without
being ridiculed, but what does it mean when self denial lingers into adulthood? In her acclaimed
short story, Miss Brillauthor Katherine Mansfield does not detail her story in a descriptive,
elaborate style, yet the reader can infer that the protagonist, Miss Brill, is a woman who is self
conscious and yearns to be important to the point she denies her pain and sorrow.
Miss Brill desires to be normal since in the literary article Reductive Imagery in Miss Brill she is
depicted as an a foreigner (in xenophobic France) without friends or relatives (Mandel 474)
Anyone in that situation would try his or her best to fit in and not be mocked. The fur and
pieces of clothing in the story are a symbol of her hidden self denial and low confidence. Miss
Brill goes out to present the clothes so the public would take notice, but the public did not.
People who wear nice clothing want others to notice, and when people notice the nice clothing, a
person s confidence is elevated. Mrs. Brill is hurt that no one takes the time out to compliment or
notice her. She yearns to be important to the public and be a person of significance. Yet, notice
how Miss Brill is so detached from the society she is living in. She is more immersed in living
through society instead of living her life and it produces

Universal Declaration Of Human Rights
According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a doctrine created to ensure a mutual
standard of treatment amongst all humans, every person deserves an equal set of life standards.
According to Article 18 of this 30 Article document, everyone has the right to freedom of thought,
conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom,
either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief
in teaching, practice, worship and observance (Campbell, MacKinnon, and Stevens 98). This
document also states in Article 5, no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or
degrading treatment or punishment (Campbell, Mackinnon, and Stevens 97).
The idea of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is commendable and I believe that
achieving the goals that it states is necessary for ultimate global progress, but it unfortunately falls
flat when put into practice, comparable in assessment to the goals and purpose of the United
Nations versus the actual actions of the United Nations. Many of the declarations in the UDHR
overlap with one another and prevent certain action from occurring. In the contentious issue of
Female Genital Cutting, we can see the above articles clashing with one another. While it is every
persons right to be able to freely practice their religion, it is also apparently every persons right to
be able to be free of any degrading and harmful treatment that

Advertising Connotation In Advertising
Advertising, a process that is perceived as innocuous, is in reality a powerful means that reaches
into the consumer s mind, manipulating their notions of reality. Essentially, all advertisements are
sending through subliminal messages to promote their company s products. In order to unveil these
underlying definitions, advertisement deconstruction takes place. This highlights the subtexts that
are in play, which exhibits the power of advertising. The advertisement that is the focal point for
such a deconstruction involves high class vehicle company, Lexus. The extraction of the signifiers,
which all work as a collaborative unit, reveals the denotations, connotations as well as the
discourses and ideologies that have been formed. Not only does this demonstrate the dismantling of
the text; it uncovers the raw meaning of the advertisement, unclothing what consumers fail to see
with the naked eye.
The Lexus vehicle, as shown in the advertisement above, is the overarching signifier within the text.
It is the advertiser s main objective to sell this vehicle, hence the product is the predominant focus
that grasps the attention of the consumer. The denotation reinforces that a car is on sale, as it is in
the centre of the image. In terms of the connotations, the paint covering the Lexus implies that this
car brand is dominant and reigns at a prestigious level. A silver shade is renowned in Western
society for signifying a position of social power. Even more so, the positioning

Native Americans in the United States and Squanto Essay
Squanto Squanto is a Native American who lived in the early seventeenth century in what is now
the Northeast United States. When the English came to this area of America to settle, they
became very fond of Squanto and used him as a translator due to his unique knowledge of the
English language acquired through an earlier voyage to Europe. Squanto helped the Pilgrims adapt
to their new surroundings by providing them with the knowledge that he and his ancestors used to
survive when they first settled in this area. He became known as a friend to the English and a
spokesman for his Native friends (Johnson p.2). However, in helping the English, Squanto realized

He also acted as an interpreter and a guide to help make the English more comfortable around the
indigenous people (). Without Squanto s help, the Pilgrims would probably have had severe
famine over the next year, and would have lived in constant fear of their indian neighbors (Johnson
p.2); the English could not have survived without the knowledge that Squanto had given them.
However, the friendly side of Squanto is traditionally the only one taught to the American public,
in which he is portrayed as an extremely friendly Native American who devoted much of his time
and effort to helping the European settlers adapt to their newly acquired land. It is true that
Squanto was a great help to the English settlers, however many modern texts, articles, and essays
concerning Squanto neglect to include his betrayal of many Native American tribes in what is
now Connecticut and Long Island(Vine p. 201 ). Many elementary educated students are led to
believe that Squanto simply saved the newcomers from starvation В… and [taught] the Pilgrims
how to survive (David p. 24). This misconception of Squanto is the exact opposite of what many
Natives thought of him(Vine p.201). He became aware of his position with the English and began

did not do what they were told. He also provided the English with certain secrets that allowed them

Many women during this time faced harsh treatment characterized by abuse and lack of equality.
Although the Taliban feel that their treatment of women is justifiable through Sharia law however,
there is nothing within that states that this treatment was justifiable. It is said that the treatment of
women at the time was consistent with treatment in rural areas of Afghanistan that had been
going on for centuries. Women in Afghanistan before the Soviet occupation and the Taliban was
fairly progressive and in comparison to other countries such as the United States and England.
They were able to vote and dressed in what many would call the latest fashion at the time and not
on the conservative side. After the occupation of the Soviets and into the rule of the Taliban,
women were not being granted the same status as men. It is common that when most people
around the world think of women in Afghanistan they think of a woman in full body burqas.
However, before the conflict in 1970 s Afghanistan had been relatively progressive. According to
the article Women in Afghanistan: The Back Story, Women were able to vote in 1919 and in
1950s purdah, gender separation, was abolished and in 1960s a new constitution brought equality
to many lives and political participation. Through Soviet occupation in the 1970s, civil conflict
between Mujahedeen groups, and government forces this progression changed. Under Taliban
rule, women in Afghanistan had their rights increasingly rolled back. The Taliban once in rule
enforced their own version of Islamic Sharia law. This began with women and girls being banned
from: going to school or studying, from working, from leaving the house without a male

The Struggle For Women s Rights
Women Suffrage Throughout history, battles and wars have been fought to gain some type of
rights or freedoms. In 1775, the American Revolutionary War was fought for independence; In
1865, the American Civil War was fought to end slavery. Although no wars were fought, many
battles were waged for women s rights. The struggle for women s rights begin in the mid late
1800s at a time when women were not allowed to vote or own property. Women, as with African
Americans, during this period were not recognized as having any legal and political rights as
men and whites, respectively. This attitude towards women, at the time, was ascribed to the
gender rules in the 1700s where men thought of women as fragile creatures always in need of
male protection and always denied access to the public sphere. (Lecture 2, 6:19). If women wanted
to gain their individualism, rights, and freedoms they were entitle to; they would have to unite and
create opportunities to do so. The inequalities women faced was the foundation of the Women s
Suffrage Movement and many other organizations in support of women. For decades, after
America gained its independence, women rights have been put aside. It has been too long that the
voices of women across this nation have been silenced. America was changing and women had the
right to be part of the process. The time was right for women to rise up and demand equal rights
and justice. As Citizens, women should be given the right to vote, own property, and

What Is The Election Of 1912 Slogan
Presidential Election of 1912 In the presidential election of 1912 the Democrat Woodrow

Eugene Debs all had their opposing views on the issues that concerning the future of democracy
in America. Some of the issues were; the Conservation of Natural Resources, Direct Democracy,
Labor, Race, Tariff, Trusts and Regulation of Business, and votes for Women. Majority of the
people desired change, as would I if I were to have lived during this time period . My vote would
have been for Theodore Teddy Roosevelt, as the change he promises is fair compared to the
other candidates. Labor would be one of the issues that would be most important to me as a
voter. Working is part of life, it s necessary to be able to provide for your family. In 1912, the
working conditions were not safe or healthy. The long working hours, the dangerous work space,
the low pay all would make people desire change. As a voter, I would want to know that in the
future I would be safe at work with good pay to be able not to live in poverty. There were many
strikes that occurred, demanding change in labor in 1912. In the Lawrence Strike, people fought
for higher wages, shorter hours, safer working conditions, regulation of woman and child labor,
and workmen s compensation. Another issue that would be important to me as a voter would be
the tariff. The Tariff is a source of federal revenue. It s a way for the United States

Examining Themes in Heart of Darkness Essay
Joseph Conrad wrote the book, Heart of Darkness, in 1898. He wrote this book touching on many
different themes such as imperialism and commerce, darkness imagery, dream and nightmare,
isolation, mental and physical illness, truth, and journey. Although all the themes are important to
make Heart of Darkness complete, three prevail overall: imperialism and commerce, truth, and
journey. Being the author of the book, Joseph Conradhad a personal connection to it. He took his
own journey down the Congo River and like Marlow, said that as a child his dreams were to grow
up and explore the heart of Africa. A family member also recommended Conrad to a company.

In some inland post feel savagery, the utter savagery, had closed round him, all that mysterious life
of the wilderness that stirs in the forest, in the jungles, in the hearts of wild men. There is no
initiation either into such mysteries. He has to live in the midst of the incomprehensible, which is
also detestable. And it has a fascination, too, which goes to work upon him. The fascination of the
abomination you know, imagine the growing regrets, the longing to escape, the powerless disgust,
the surrender, the hate.
Part 1, page 31
All through Marlow s journey he encounters many accounts of torture, cruelty, and slavery mainly
pertaining to the natives.
It is no accident that the narrator introduced the reader to Marlow while on a journey. The story
Marlow unravels also takes place on a journey. Marlow s apparent journey takes him from his
childhood, as a boy dreaming of filling empty spaces on maps, to the middle of Africa. An intimate
possession to understand the secrets of the unknown pushes him down

Ampicillin VS Inhibition Zone Growth of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and
Enterococcus faecalis
Introduction
The variety of bacteria that lives in our world today is endless. With variety of bacteria comes a
numerous amount of adaptations and enhancements that the bacteria develops, including antibiotic
resistance. Escherichia coli, better known as E.coli, is a gram negative bacteria with several
different types of clones with a variety of effects. E.coli often enters the intestinal tract as soon as
an infant is born and some forms of it are not pathogenic but rather beneficial to the body(Kaper et
al, 2004). When infected with pathogenic E.coli, the body often responds, depending of the type of
pathogenic E.coli, with diarrhea, vomiting, upset stomach. etc. The rate at which E.coli is adapting,
is creating a much more difficult job to find antibiotics that can eliminate the growth of this bacteria
(Tadasse et al., 2002). Enterococcus faecalis is an infectious bacteria that often thrives in extreme
environments (McBride et al, 2007). Enterococcus faecalis is an opportunistic gram positive
bacteria that is usually found in the vaginal tract, intestinal tract or the oral cavity. This bacteria has
a high resistance to many bile salt detergents, heavy metals, ethanol, azide, and desiccation, worries
hospitals due to their variable tolerance (Zhang W et al, 2013). Staphylococcus Aureus is also an
infectious gram positive bacteria that may cause a

The franchise head upon taking over this unit was able to start fresh with an already productive
unit that has become a key partner in the ongoing success of the corporation at large. This has
enabled acceptance of a charismatic style and devoted following. Perception of legitimacy here has
been fostered by crediting and promoting internal projects, teams and individuals to the larger
organization. The followers in this scenario see the franchise head as somewhat revolutionary and
willing to fight for his people often against the wishes of other executives. Key in this success is the
continued successful projects and franchise goals that add to the profitability and intellectual

My Most Thankful Of My Life
Out of all the many blessing I am lucky to have I have to say that one of the blessings I am most
grateful are the many amazing people in my life. The people and pets that I am most grateful for
are my loving puppies, my crazy friends, and my supportive family I love them all so. The support
they give, the love that will neverend, and the endless laughs you share with your pets, friends, and
family.
My companions for life, my best friends I will never lose, the friends who will comfort me
whenever that s my dogs. What could I love more than Calvin and Willie my best friends I could
never live without my two baby boys. I m am thankful for their never ending love, their never
ending support, and of course their adorable little faces I wake up to every single morning. Being a
dog owner is like being a mom at times with your never ending love for them and some of their
clueless actions. I always have a great time walking just around the block with my dogs or
telling them about my day before I drift asleep, saying what I did in elective or what we talked
about in lunch. If they are coming up to me just to let them out or if they want some love or
affection because they didn t get any dinner scraps I will always love them and I will always be
thankful for my two big bundles of joy. In summation, they will always be there for me and that is
why I am so grateful for my adorable baby boys.
Friends many people have them but do you have a best friend? Well, I do and I am so

Tully Constitutionalism
A powerful and compelling case for cross cultural consensus on fundamental constitutional
principles is outlined by James Tully in lectures delivered at Cambridge in 1994 and in essays
based on his involvement in the work of the Canadian Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples
(Tully 1995; 2008). Tully argues that the dominant language in which the claims of Indigenous
people have been assessed is both Eurocentric and imperial. It is hostile to cultural diversity in
general and to Indigenous cultures in particular. But there is another language available to us, in
which the claims of Indigenous peoplescan be put forward and negotiated in ways that are not
prejudicial from the outset and that provides a basis for differential rights and distinct... Show more

As such, it is a precondition for rather than a part of democracy: the rules of political association are
not themselves subject to negotiation. For Tully, this language of modern constitutionalism is not
so much universal as imperial: it served to justify European imperialism and continues to justify the
imperial rule of former colonies over Indigenous peoples (Tully 1995, 96). In response to this
diagnosis, he argues in Strange Multiplicity (1995) that the language of contemporary
constitutionalism is more diverse than is often realised. Alongside the language of modern
constitutionalism there is the language of common constitutionalism, derived from older traditions
that allow for the persistence of diverse legal and political traditions within a given association. This
developed through the English common law tradition and through encounters with the different
languages of non European constitutionalism. In the course of the colonisation of North America, it
led to the emergence of the Aboriginal and common law system of constitutional association,
founded on the three principles of recognition, consent and

Byzantium Feudalism Essay
Though initially economic development of Byzantium was defined by that the emperor was the
supreme owner of land and the state had a considerable fund of the lands belonging only to the
state treasury. These lands were so extensive that the peasants living on them could not always
process them. As a result, the state and imperial lands surrendered in long term rent. The state
widely used practice of grant of lands for service military or state. As a result, in Byzantium there
were feudal forms of land tenure which reminded feudal possession in Western Europe. Also we

Stupid Roo Monologue
How dare he? I thought he knew me better. I thought I knew Roo after seeing him for 17 long

seasons wasted, all because Roo decided to propose. Stupid Roo, why did he have to wreck
everything? It makes me think... does he even know me? Wouldn t you think that over the years
he would know that I don t want to be a silly house wife like Pearl was before her husband passed
away. I m not like Nancy and Pearl, I want to live my life, not be tied to a man until I die. Marriage,
I can t believe he proposed the idea of marriage to me that stupid Roo. Why can t things go back to

husband. I don t want to slave in the kitchen all day preparing meals when my husband is

What, so if I get married I am expected to work harder than my husband?? Work until I have
blisters on my hands? And no I don t get a day off if I am sick unlike my husband I am still

those generations value, they have the power to drive to get the results (Hewlett, Sherbin

Latin School Concert Report
It was January 7th, 2017, the weather alert had been right, there was a pretty darn big snowstorm
outside, but inside, of the Boston Latin School auditorium, the 10th Annual MMEA Eastern Senior
District Festival were filled with excited spirits that were much bigger. There was a smattering of
students from each school in the Eastern District, and many BLS students were part of them. A
feeling of awe and admiration floated through me as I saw them enter the stage. In 4 years, I would
be just like them, I hoped.
There were 4 fantastic music ensembles that would perform: Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band,
and Chorus. Each group had a particular conductor, but all performed with much skill, gusto, and
professionalism.
The first to perform was the Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Emily Threinen (Director of Bands
at the Univeristy of Minnesota School of Music), with pieces such Nitro by Frank Ticheli and
Sheltering Sky by John Mackey. The ensemble s prominent performance, however, was in its last
piece, Scenes from the Louvre by Norman dello Joio. From the opening movement to the last note,

the bassist Charles Mingus, and Body and Soul by George Stone. They also incorporated some
other songs, such as Tuning Up by Toshiki Akiyoshi, and Count Bubba by George Goodwin.
Throughout the entire performance, many soloists popped up and played with such tone and mood
and dedication, with riffs and dazzling techniques. The group also had wonderful cooperation and
harmony with each other. Right after a song ended, the crowd would erupt into cheering

Bloody Hell Rhetorical Analysis
It is evidently true that human beings communicate through more than one medium. When
communicating people express ideas as well as emotions through facial expressions, tone and pitch,
and gestures, which are non verbal languages know as body language. Body language comprise of
our non verbal communication or kinesics, and just like the verbal communication, it is a part of our
culture (Zhou, Zhang, 2008). Gestures are conveyed through the use of our body, mainly through
the movements of our hands and head. All around the world, people use gestures when they
communicate, but what the gestures mean totally depends on the speaker s culture, because just

Though the word bloody and hell are used separately in both Australian English and British
English, the phrase bloody hell has different meaning and usage in Australian culture and British
culture. The phrase does not have the same cultural meaning and usage, in other words, it does not
have a universal meaning, thus it became a controversial issue and as a result, the British broadcast
administration had to ban the commercial because bloody hell was thought to be a crude word.
Many Australians would not consider the phrase bloody hell an obscenity, for example Australian
25th Prime Minister John Howard believes that bloody hell has become part of the Australian
vernacular (Winter, Gallon, 2008, p. 303). This shows that there is an intercultural difference, in
this context of politeness, between variants of English since majority of the British see it as an
obscenity phrase, where as most Australians who use the phrase in normal conversations consider it

King of the Bingo Game
Analysis of King of the Bingo Game Ideas of slavery, identity, and what is acceptable behavior
differ greatly in the past Civil War North and South. Ralph Ellison s King of the Bingo Game
depicts how traditional southern slave mentalities are in conflict even after Lincoln s
Emancipation Proclamation of the slaves, leading many, like the nameless main character to try
and find a new identity and giving him a taste of power to control his life and the lives of others.

Age Of Cathedral Essay
Gothic cathedrals are more often than not very tall. In fact, they are the equivalent of city scrapers
today because they dominate the skyline and emphasize vertically. Church leaders sought an
architectural style that would create a sense of awe in the power and majesty of God for anyone
that went to such churches. Master masons designed and constructed the cathedrals with the aim of
creating uninterrupted vertical space in their structures. These great heights formed a dramatic
interior that served the purpose of reinforcing the power of God and the church.
Gothic architecture did not evolve from dying Romanesque traditions, but from a style that was very
popular. This shift came about in an era of much political and intellectual development... Show

These innovations include the ribbed vault, flying buttress, and the pointed arch. The use of ribbed
vaults created a sense of lightness and height in the building whereas flying buttress supplemented
the strength of the structure.
One such example is the Opening of Psalm 1 in the Windmill Psalter. Illumination of
manuscripts was used to pass theological concepts during the Gothic period. This concept was
achieved by weaving some ideas and stories into single illuminations as was the case in the
example above. As seen in the first two pages, the letter b is achieved by weaving a lot of
pictures in and around it. Biblical tales of Solomon and the story of the creation of Adam and Eve
are included. These different stories as well as others when put together provoked the viewers and

French King Louis IX built many churches and religious houses. The most celebrated being the

For a long time, EDIFACT has been the most broadly utilized convention for EDI messages.
Numerous healthcare associations, and also businesses in different commercial enterprises, have
utilized the EDI approach as a part of request to trade particular space records towards the end of

of linguistically organized information arranged reports. However, over the years it has become
apparent that healthcare communication standards, such as EDI messages, fail to effectively
establish requirements for the internal structure and architecture of communicating systems,
requiring the information in any one system to be mapped twice: once into the message standard
format by the contributing system, and once back into the internal representation of the receiving
system (Dudeck, 1998).Although the EDI approach achieves integration at the data level, it does
not provide process integration. Thus, it has been characterised by many as a complex technology

Medical products have to be compliance with ISO 13485 to achieve compliance with European regulatory requirements. • 6. Why The Imperial System Should Be Abolished Essay Why the Imperial System Should be Replaced A few months back, I was in a car with my father driving down the 409, and I wondered, How many feet are in a mile anyway? So I asked my Dad, who didn t know. This made me wonder if the imperial system as a whole was just a waste of time. Even though a considerable amount of people think the US should stay in the imperial system, switching to the metric system would help prevent doubt of the people in their very own system of measurement, and devastating accidents. The imperial system is dying, and the people may be losing faith in this dying system. The imperial system has remained in effect in America since they broke off from the British colonies. Because of that, one may think that they d make a new system, because they wouldn t want ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, the main arguing point for the imperial system s side is Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit is more specific than Celsius by around 2 times, and has been around longer, but other than that, there really isn t any other selling points. The imperial system can also be more useful for real world measurements, such as inches, feet, yards, and cups. This differentiates from the metric system, dividing by tens, while the imperial system divides by threes, fours, sixes and twelves, like 12 Inches to a foot, 3 feet to a yard, and 4 cups to a pint. The imperial system has a large amount of units used only in very specific areas, such as furlongs, hogsheads, drams, and long tonnes. Furlongs are only used to measure horse racing tracks, hogsheads were used to transport tobacco, and drams used to be used to measure minuscule amounts of fluids. In all honesty, the imperial system is an outdated tool of measurement on the brink of collapse, and doesn t have a valid enough argument to stay as the USA s primary system of ... While I do agree with this, Gray makes a strong argument in the sense that the court is expected to follow the law created by the people in authority. Before Francis s death, there was no mistakes in the will and the language of the statute governing wills was clearly written, making it a valid one. In other words, the court is required to uphold the validity of the will. In placing morality above the demands of the law, the majority judges meets the burden of overruling the written law. • 10. Sociological Factors Of Abortion On Society 4. Sociological Factors Abortion can have several effects on the society. Some may be noticeable, and others less. Abortion increases the amount of unintended pregnancies and deaths, and can affect the economy due to low birth rates (Dailard, 2001). Legalizing abortion reduces the consequences of having a child which increases the amount of sexual activity (Dailard, 2001). This results in the large number of children being conceived than there would have been if abortionwasn t as available (Dailard, 2001). Some women who have unintended pregnancies will seek out an abortion regardless of its legal situation, even if it can put their lives in danger (Dailard 2001). In many countries where abortion is illegal, women tend to get abortions at a very high rate (Dailard, 2001). It is estimated there are around six hundred thousand pregnancyrelated deaths, and out of those, there were seventy eight thousand that are caused by complications due to unsafe abortions (Dailard, 2001). As the death rates increase, the birthrates decrease. As shown in a study in New Zealand, in some developing countries, abortion is leading to lower birthrates ( Impact of Abortion on Society ). Those lower birthrates can lead to a decrease in sales ( Impact of Abortion on Society ). In the twenty two years leading up to 1999, there were over two hundred thousand abortions, which led to the fewer sales of children items ( Impact of Abortion on Society ). As abortion has not severely effected society ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Well Being Assessment The Human Well Being Index 10 Geography Melony Weir This report serves as a means of explaining and evaluating The Human Wellbeing Index (aka the HWI). Consisting of several general well being indicators, the HWI was created in hopes of providing a greater insight into living conditions in various countries. To measure and compare the quality of life for people across the globe, several well being indicators were carefully selected and analysed. These indicators were thought to most appropriately represent human well being in each country as they covered areas such as education, the economy, and population. Having established that the HWI indicators were used to determine the general living standards in each country, the facts and figures collected were then used to create an average well being ranking system. This system ranked each country from highest to lowest levels of life quality and human well being. The remainder of this report will include a background on general human well being, a description of each indicator used, the results of the HWI, and finally, an evaluation of its overall effectiveness. The broad nature of this field allows much involvement in the scientific community including not only psychologists working to further understand the functions of the human brain, but also physicists, mathematicians, and other science related areas of study by bringing knowledge and simulations from the outside world and relating them to the processes of our own minds. In addition to researching the basis of normal cognitive functions in an average brain, cognitive neuroscience studies development of the brain, as well as damage to the brain including how the damage will affect normal operations of that brain in the future. • 30. Self Denial And Self-Denialing In Miss Brill By Katherine... There are millions of people who live in self denial and self rejection. When one thinks of self denial, most people picture a young person trying to find his or her way through society without being ridiculed, but what does it mean when self denial lingers into adulthood? In her acclaimed short story, Miss Brillauthor Katherine Mansfield does not detail her story in a descriptive, elaborate style, yet the reader can infer that the protagonist, Miss Brill, is a woman who is self conscious and yearns to be important to the point she denies her pain and sorrow. Miss Brill desires to be normal since in the literary article Reductive Imagery in Miss Brill she is depicted as an a foreigner (in xenophobic France) without friends or relatives (Mandel 474) Anyone in that situation would try his or her best to fit in and not be mocked. The fur and pieces of clothing in the story are a symbol of her hidden self denial and low confidence. Miss Brill goes out to present the clothes so the public would take notice, but the public did not. People who wear nice clothing want others to notice, and when people notice the nice clothing, a person s confidence is elevated. Mrs. Brill is hurt that no one takes the time out to compliment or notice her. She yearns to be important to the public and be a person of significance. According to Article 18 of this 30 Article document, everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance (Campbell, MacKinnon, and Stevens 98). This document also states in Article 5, no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (Campbell, Mackinnon, and Stevens 97). The idea of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is commendable and I believe that achieving the goals that it states is necessary for ultimate global progress, but it unfortunately falls flat when put into practice, comparable in assessment to the goals and purpose of the United Nations versus the actual actions of the United Nations. Many of the declarations in the UDHR overlap with one another and prevent certain action from occurring. Advertising Connotation In Advertising Advertising, a process that is perceived as innocuous, is in reality a powerful means that reaches into the consumer s mind, manipulating their notions of reality. Essentially, all advertisements are sending through subliminal messages to promote their company s products. In order to unveil these underlying definitions, advertisement deconstruction takes place. This highlights the subtexts that are in play, which exhibits the power of advertising. The advertisement that is the focal point for such a deconstruction involves high class vehicle company, Lexus. The extraction of the signifiers, which all work as a collaborative unit, reveals the denotations, connotations as well as the discourses and ideologies that have been formed. Not only does this demonstrate the dismantling of the text; it uncovers the raw meaning of the advertisement, unclothing what consumers fail to see with the naked eye. The Lexus vehicle, as shown in the advertisement above, is the overarching signifier within the text. Although the Taliban feel that their treatment of women is justifiable through Sharia law however, there is nothing within that states that this treatment was justifiable. It is said that the treatment of women at the time was consistent with treatment in rural areas of Afghanistan that had been going on for centuries. Women in Afghanistan before the Soviet occupation and the Taliban was fairly progressive and in comparison to other countries such as the United States and England. They were able to vote and dressed in what many would call the latest fashion at the time and not on the conservative side. After the occupation of the Soviets and into the rule of the Taliban, women were not being granted the same status as men. It is common that when most people around the world think of women in Afghanistan they think of a woman in full body burqas. However, before the conflict in 1970 s Afghanistan had been relatively progressive. According to the article Women in Afghanistan: The Back Story, Women were able to vote in 1919 and in 1950s purdah, gender separation, was abolished and in 1960s a new constitution brought equality to many lives and political participation. Through Soviet occupation in the 1970s, civil conflict between Mujahedeen groups, and government forces this progression changed. Under Taliban rule, women in Afghanistan had their rights increasingly rolled back. The Taliban once in rule enforced their own version of Islamic Sharia law. This began with women and girls being banned from: going to school or studying, from working, from leaving the house without a male chaperone, from showing their skin in public, from accessing healthcare delivered by men, and from being involved in politics or speaking publicly. • 40. The Struggle For Women s Rights Women Suffrage Throughout history, battles and wars have been fought to gain some type of rights or freedoms. In 1775, the American Revolutionary War was fought for independence; In 1865, the American Civil War was fought to end slavery. Although no wars were fought, many battles were waged for women s rights. The struggle for women s rights begin in the mid late 1800s at a time when women were not allowed to vote or own property. Women, as with African Americans, during this period were not recognized as having any legal and political rights as men and whites, respectively. This attitude towards women, at the time, was ascribed to the gender rules in the 1700s where men thought of women as fragile creatures always in need of male protection and always denied access to the public sphere. (Lecture 2, 6:19). If women wanted to gain their individualism, rights, and freedoms they were entitle to; they would have to unite and create opportunities to do so. The inequalities women faced was the foundation of the Women s Suffrage Movement and many other organizations in support of women. For decades, after America gained its independence, women rights have been put aside. It has been too long that the voices of women across this nation have been silenced. America was changing and women had the right to be part of the process. The time was right for women to rise up and demand equal rights and justice. Some of the issues were; the Conservation of Natural Resources, Direct Democracy, Labor, Race, Tariff, Trusts and Regulation of Business, and votes for Women. My vote would have been for Theodore Teddy Roosevelt, as the change he promises is fair compared to the other candidates. Labor would be one of the issues that would be most important to me as a voter. Working is part of life, it s necessary to be able to provide for your family. In 1912, the working conditions were not safe or healthy. The long working hours, the dangerous work space, the low pay all would make people desire change. As a voter, I would want to know that in the future I would be safe at work with good pay to be able not to live in poverty. There were many strikes that occurred, demanding change in labor in 1912. In the Lawrence Strike, people fought for higher wages, shorter hours, safer working conditions, regulation of woman and child labor, and workmen s compensation. Heidi Torres Ampicillin VS Inhibition Zone Growth of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterococcus faecalis Introduction The variety of bacteria that lives in our world today is endless. With variety of bacteria comes a numerous amount of adaptations and enhancements that the bacteria develops, including antibiotic resistance. Escherichia coli, better known as E.coli, is a gram negative bacteria with several different types of clones with a variety of effects. E.coli often enters the intestinal tract as soon as an infant is born and some forms of it are not pathogenic but rather beneficial to the body(Kaper et al, 2004). When infected with pathogenic E.coli, the body often responds, depending of the type of pathogenic E.coli, with diarrhea, vomiting, upset stomach. etc. The rate at which E.coli is adapting, is creating a much more difficult job to find antibiotics that can eliminate the growth of this bacteria (Tadasse et al., 2002). Enterococcus faecalis is an infectious bacteria that often thrives in extreme environments (McBride et al, 2007). Enterococcus faecalis is an opportunistic gram positive bacteria that is usually found in the vaginal tract, intestinal tract or the oral cavity. This bacteria has a high resistance to many bile salt detergents, heavy metals, ethanol, azide, and desiccation, worries hospitals due to their variable tolerance (Zhang W et al, 2013). Tully Constitutionalism A powerful and compelling case for cross cultural consensus on fundamental constitutional principles is outlined by James Tully in lectures delivered at Cambridge in 1994 and in essays based on his involvement in the work of the Canadian Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples (Tully 1995; 2008). Tully argues that the dominant language in which the claims of Indigenous people have been assessed is both Eurocentric and imperial. It is hostile to cultural diversity in general and to Indigenous cultures in particular. But there is another language available to us, in which the claims of Indigenous peoplescan be put forward and negotiated in ways that are not prejudicial from the outset and that provides a basis for differential rights and distinct... For Tully, this language of modern constitutionalism is not so much universal as imperial: it served to justify European imperialism and continues to justify the imperial rule of former colonies over Indigenous peoples (Tully 1995, 96). In response to this diagnosis, he argues in Strange Multiplicity (1995) that the language of contemporary constitutionalism is more diverse than is often realised. Alongside the language of modern constitutionalism there is the language of common constitutionalism, derived from older traditions that allow for the persistence of diverse legal and political traditions within a given association. This developed through the English common law tradition and through encounters with the different languages of non European constitutionalism. In the course of the colonisation of North America, it led to the emergence of the Aboriginal and common law system of constitutional association, founded on the three principles of recognition, consent and ...
