Essay 5 Paragraph
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay 5 Paragraph" can be more challenging than one might
anticipate. The difficulty lies not in the simplicity of the topic itself but in the expectation to
encapsulate a comprehensive discussion within the confines of a structured five-paragraph
format. The constraints imposed by this format demand a concise yet thorough exploration of the
subject matter, requiring adept organization and precise articulation of ideas.
Firstly, condensing complex thoughts into introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs
necessitates a meticulous selection of content and a clear delineation of key points. Each
paragraph must seamlessly transition into the next, fostering a coherent progression of
arguments. Striking a balance between depth of analysis and brevity poses a formidable task, as
delving too deeply risks overshadowing subsequent points, while superficial treatment
undermines the essay's efficacy.
Furthermore, the rigidity of the five-paragraph structure may stifle creativity and inhibit nuanced
expression. Crafting compelling arguments and providing sufficient evidence within the confines
of this format demands a high degree of conciseness and precision in language, leaving little
room for expansive exploration or elaborate prose. This constraint challenges the writer to distill
complex concepts into digestible nuggets of information, sacrificing depth for breadth.
Moreover, the demand for adherence to a standardized format may foster a sense of formulaic
writing, detracting from the originality and authenticity of the author's voice. Striving to meet
the expectations of a predefined structure risks sacrificing individuality in favor of conformity,
potentially compromising the essay's ability to engage and resonate with readers on a personal
level.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "Essay 5 Paragraph" presents a unique set of
challenges, requiring adept navigation of the constraints imposed by the format while
endeavoring to maintain depth of analysis and originality of expression. Successfully navigating
these challenges demands a keen understanding of the intricacies of the topic and a mastery of
the art of concise and effective communication.

What Is The Role Of Women In The Spanish Civil War

Project Proposal
The Spanish Civil war was a complex and tumultuous whirlwind of combating
ideologies through the resulting emphasis on gender differences and maternalism, it
played the catalyst in the bolstering prevalence of gender discourse. Although unlike
traditional feminist movements, the women of the Spanish Civil War, specifically the
Milicianas and Mujeres Libres were primarily in search of a voice in ongoing social
revolution and less concerned with the acquisition of political equality. By taking into
account the history of the social conditioning of Spanish women, I hope to analyze
the changes in the sex gender system, wrought on by revolution and war by furthering

Mg 42 Dbq
The MG 42 was invented by the German firm Grossfuss Johannes and used by
German soldiers being the fastest machine gun of it s time. It was capable of firing at
around one thousand eight hundred rounds per minute, roughly twenty five rounds
per second. At Omaha beach there were five MG 42 heavy machine gunbunkers. This
concludes that if all five MG 42 s were firing at one landing craft door, they would
be hitting the landing craft with one hundred and twenty five rounds per each
second. This caused most soldiers to jump out of the sides of the landing craft,
which they were told to never to do. Since carrying one hundred pounds of gear, the
soldiers would sink to the bottom and some would drown. However, the water

As The Attitudes Of American Households Begin To Shift,
As the attitudes of American households begin to shift, the FCC should enact a
new regulation to best fit the changing viewership of consumers. At its simplest
form, this new rule would allow television consumers to have the option to pick
and choose the individual television channels they desire to pay for, instead of
having to pay for an entire cable package , while still including the basic cable
service. Essentially, this new regulation would force cable TV providers to allow the
option for an Г la carte pricing rate for expanded cable televisionservices. While the
proposed rule would make cable providers deviate from market driven logic, the
overall effects of it would alter the medium of television for the better. (Lotz... Show

The 1992 act subjected cable rates to regulation under most circumstances excluding
cable systems that were subject to effective competition. (Public Access Awareness
Association) Also, it allowed the FCC to regulate rates for other service tiers if they
found that a cable system s rates were unreasonable under FCC regulation.
(McCarthy)
Nevertheless, the 1992 act was followed by the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
During this time, shifting cable policies and deregulation of ownership had
massive implications for the industry s operation (Lotz 52) Thus, because of its
intent to create a competitive market, the FCC was no longer able to regulate the
rates for non basic service tiers. According to the FCC, basic cable service rates
may be regulated by local franchising authorities such as the city, county or other
governmental organizations, but are not required to do so. On the other hand, the
rates you pay for other cable programming and services, such as expanded cable
channel packages, premium movie channels and pay per view sports events, are set
by your cable TV provider. (FCC) So, in actuality, the FCC still does not regulate
any rates charged by cable providers, thereby giving them the monopolistic power of
rate regulation and overall ability to engage in rate inflation.
Although the FCC has attempted numerous deregulatory/regulatory measures, it still
has not provided for what the

Psychology 5/13/16 Driving Miss Daisy is a movie based off a play that portrays
the life of Miss Daisy, Jessica Tandy, and her driver Hoke, Morgan Freeman. After
Daisy crashes her car, her son decides to hire someone to drive his elderly mother
around. As Daisy tries to retain her autonomy she refuses to let Hoke drive her, but
eventually she gives in allowing Hoke into her life. As the years past their
relationship begins to shift from professional to personal and they develop an

This shows the key signs of memory deterioration as well as reasoning which are
common in Alzheimer s ( Meyers, 2011, p. 460). These symptoms are present
when Daisy keeps believing that she is a teacher and tries to convince Hoke too. A
cause of this is the lack of the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine in the brain. As people
grow older the neurons that make Acetylcholine can start to deteriorate and no
longer produce this vital neurotransmitter, which is key in both learning and
memory (Meyers, 2011, p. 57). Lack of Acetylcholine explains why when Daisy
got older she showed the symptoms of these two degenerative diseases. Parkinson
s disease is also common in the elderly population like dementia and Alzheimer s.
Daisy shows symptoms of Parkinson s such as bradykinesia which causes Daisy to
move slowly as she walks. She also shows the key signs of tremors as shown when
she attempts to eat the pie and cannot stop shaking with the fork in her hand.
Another symptom that Daisy shows is a change in the way she speaks, her speech
pattern becoming slow and drawn out (Mayo Clinic). Parkinson s disease can be
caused by a lack of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is integral
in functions such as bodily movement, emotion, and attention. When the brain is
devoid of dopamine it can create tremors which cause a loss of
Essay on money laundering
Money laundering is the routing of illegal profits from bank to bank to disguise its
existence. The illegal profits are usually made through activities such as drug
trafficking, prostitution rings, illegal arms sales, and various other things.
Unfortunately money laundering is a serious crime that is still prevalent in the
United States and other countries. The Russian mafia, the Triad or Chinese mafia, and
the Columbian drug cartelare just a few of the groups that partake in money
laundering. No one knows exactly how much money is laundered yearly but it is
estimated to be about $100 billion in the United States. The United States is not the
only country affected by these numbers. The estimated amount of... Show more

Most of the money laundered today is done by some sort of organized crime,
whether it is a drug cartel, illegal arms sale, smuggling, prostitution rings, the Mafia,
or corporations. Organized crime has existed in the United States for many years.
Some of the organized crime groups known for money laundering are: the Russian
Mafia, the Triad, other wise known as the Chinese Mafia and the Yakuza. All of
these groups are known for a variety of illegal activities that involve receiving
substantially high profits. Some of these activities may include drug trafficking,
illegal arms sale, and various other things. Recently law enforcement has
discovered that corporations have been helpers in laundering money. This
discovery leads back to the Black Market Peso Exchange. These corporations do
not have a direct involvement with the laundering, but are a helping hand at times.
Many times corporations are the supplier of goods for the broker. The perks that
go along with being the supplier entail getting an exchange rate better than the
market. An example of this is if a corporation has pesos that they need to exchange
back into dollars, and the exchange rate is 1,000 pesos for 1 U.S. dollar, the broker
may discount the rate to 880 pesos for 1 U. S. dollar.
The initial stage occurs when a criminal, or a group of criminals, involved in an
illegal activity make a substantial sum of money. The money is then put into the
Laurie Halse Anderson s Speak Book Analysis
Melinda Sordino is raped weeks before her freshman year, but nobody knows.
Coming from a struggling family and friends that ignore her, Melinda has no one to
tell. As her grades fall and her self esteem with it, she must choose to speak up
against her rapist when he tries to take advantage of her again. In Laurie Halse
Anderson s Speak, the uses of the author s life, the events that show the time period,
and the philosophy of speaking up all contribute to why she wrote the novel.
Laurie Halse Anderson faced many struggles as a young adult and shares her
battles through the endeavors of the main characters in her books. From the
beginning, Anderson wasn t the best student, spending much of her time
daydreaming in the back row (Lew 11). Anderson started school as any other
student. Good grades came easy and she was liked by her peers. Anderson also had
a vivid imagination; she would imagine stories in her mind during random times of
the day (Lew 11). Anderson also attended Onondaga Community College in
Syracuse, New York for a two year associate s degree and then graduated from
Georgetown with a bachelor s in language and linguistics (Lew 18). She has always
enjoyed writing, and decided to pursue her dream of being an author because she felt

As for her adolescent struggles, she highly suggests seeing a therapist or a trusted
adult for advice (Angelou and Anderson). Therefore, a conclusion can be made that
Anderson s work, Speak, uses the author s life, certain events that happen in the
novel, and the ideology of speaking up to emphasize why she wrote the book.
Melinda s life closely resembled Laurie Halse Anderson s, and the author has stated

Chipotle Incident Summary
This report was commissioned to examine the Chipotle E.Coli outbreak that took
place in the last quarter of 2015 and the internal crisis that ensued causing stocks to
plummet and customers slow to regain trust. This research draws attention to the
managerial strategies attempted after the outbreak to bounce back from the Foodwith
Integrity broken promise. Chipotle started off strong in 1993 with its creative new
take on a fast foodrestaurant by using fresh ingredients, which was sustainably
grown, and showed respect for the animals, land, and farmers. This aspect of
Chipotle is what helped it stand out amongst its competitors. The diligence put into
preparing and catering the food to the guests is the epitome of exceptional customer
service; thus leading to an exponential rise in sales and stock value for the company.
Debatably, the root of Chipotle s issues has been leadership challenges and teamwork
mismatches. This report re counts the events that took place after the catastrophe and

coming from CEO Steve Ells and Co CEO Monty Moran portrayed repudiation. One
of the first decisions made in reaction to the E. coli outbreak was to purchase full
paid advertisements. This marketing tactic was a ploy to mask the severity of the
epidemic, soothe investors, and retain loyal customers. In addition to paper ads,
Chipotle decided to advertise using direct mail and television advertisements (Wahba,
2016). This practice did not correlate with traditional chipotle advertising; before the
outbreak, their last paid advertisement took place in 2012. Chipotle has always
operated in a fashion that let their brand, and high quality products speak for
themselves. However, both Ells and Moran felt that the time to promote their brand

Why We Crave Horror Movies
In his article Why We Crave Horror movies, Stephen King stresses the fact that we
are all mentally ill, and explains why watching horror films is an effective way to
deal with our inner insanity. According to King, we are all insane by human nature,
and are made up of anticivilization emotions. These emotions are integral parts of
our personalities, and in order to stay healthy, they demand periodic exercise. But
living in society has taught us to repress these emotions, which is why he argues that
watching horror films provide us with this psychological relief, allowing us to
indirectly deal with anticivilization emotions. According to King, horror movies
deliberately appeal to the worst in us, and therefore, perform the dirty job of
satisfying our inner monsters. I disagree with King because horror movies can also
have negative effects. In addition, people have different ways of channeling out
uncivilized emotions.
Horror movies can have negative psychological effects. Although some people enjoy
the thrill and nastiness of horror movies, I, for one, do not. Watching horror films
give me nightmares, and make me extra paranoid. Rather than my inner psyche
feeling satisfied, I feel disturbed. Watching horror films can also cause heightened
stress and anxiety. Under more serious conditions, horror films can even cause
PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. A woman named Caroline appeared on the
Dr. Phil show, who after watching a horror filmcalled Psycho,
Government Tackles Tax Evasion
U.S Government Tackles Tax Evasion
Many U.S citizens disagree with the Internal Revenue Code when it comes to the
percentage they must pay out of their earned and unearned income; as a result, many
of them might use some type of strategy in order to report less income to the Internal
Revenue Service (IRS) and don t pay that much in taxes. For example, many
taxpayers decide to use tax planning strategies such as timing strategies, income
shifting strategies and conversion strategies to reduce their before tax income. All
these strategies mentioned before are an example of tax avoidance, which is a legal
way to minimize tax liability. On the other hand, there are also some strategies that

R22 Freon Phase Out
Most people depend on their air conditioners. It is the only way to stay cool when
you are inside of your home or office and the temperatures are soaring into the 90s
and beyond as it often does in Fort Meyers and other areas of south Florida. The
thing is, most older air conditioning units are not able to keep up with the heat as
well as most people want for them to. Also, many people are now having to deal
with the R22 Freon phase out that is taking place and it is causing a lot of people to
suffer in misery. What is R22?
R 22 is a type of propellant or refrigerant that is a colorless gas. It is a hydro
chlorofluorocarbon that, until recently, was the primary gas used in air
conditioners both inside a vehicle and homes. It is a gas that causes very little
damage to the ozone, and was at one time considered very safe to use. However,
when you consider how many people are now using air conditioners, it is still

Freon is a gas that is added to the compressor of an air conditioning unit. It is then
added to a closed loop system that ensures there is a constant recycling process that it
goes through. The way it works from there is when you turn on your air conditioner
the compressor compresses the Freon. This makes it become hot and then it travels
through coils that are inside of your unit. As the Freon liquid flows through, it
evaporates and becomes cold. The now cold gas will continue through the air
conditioners coils to absorb heat and then push cooler air into the building or
Reflection Of Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Art
Sigmund Freud established and originated the psychoanalysis with the emphasis on
helping the patients of neurotic illnesses. Freud formulated his method through
Joseph Breuer s hypnotic method that is the free association. He revolutionalized the
ideas of how the human mind works; He challenged the long standing identification
of the self with the conscious thinking subject. Freud established the theory of the
unconscious. This becomes a controversial one that is comparable to the Copernican
revolution that the sun is the center of the universe and Darwin s theory of evolution
that man is a descent of the apes; in this analogy, Freud, argued that a large part of
what makes up the mind is often hidden from the subject person as a conscious...

The first part is an exposition of Sigmund Freud s aesthetic theory. This discussed
the beginning of Freud s perception of art as an escape to reality. However, of all
the works of art, Freud give high regard to literature for it forms some kind of
apprehension what exactly it is unlike those of paintings that affirmatively can
evoke an effect or a feeling but it does not have the sense of apprehension in it. It is
also in this part that Freud s formulation that a poet is regulated by both the fantasy
and reality as he proposes the first poet and the second poet . In the second part of
the part of the chapter, discuss the three fold personality structure of personality,
the id, the ego, and the super ego. The id is the seat of the unconscious, it
comprises of the desires and the wishes that are seeking for fulfillment, and it
primarily conforms to the pleasure principle. The ego is the rational conscious
part. It acts as the intermediary between the super ego and the id as well as strive
for the fulfillment of the demands of the id, the super ego, and the reality. Unlike
the id the ego is regulated by the reality principle. And the super ego is developed
with the help of the external influences that which is taken from the other people
external authority. It mainly concerns on the operation of man in the society. And
on the latter part, it states that an art is produced with the influence of the three
fold personality structure. The id is the source of inspiration, the ego gives an art a
unity and the super ego makes an art to be a form of sublimation. The last part of
the second chapter is the two mental functioning. The primary process conforms to
the id while, the secondary process serves as a guide to the ego. These two are
related to the pleasure and reality principle, respectively. Any work of art is working
towards the reconciliation of the pleasure and reality

Jewellery or jewelry is a form of personal adornment, manifesting itself as brooches,

usually gemstones, precious metals, beads, or shells. Factors affecting the choice of
materials include cultural differences and the availability of the materials. Jewellery

other purpose than to look appealing. Items such as belts and handbags are
considered to be accessories rather than jewellery.

Atomic Theory In The Late 1800 s
An atom is made of a nucleus accommodating protons and neutrons (Atomic
Structure Prezi). An atom is the particle that retains the properties of an element.
Atoms are spherically shaped, mostly empty space, and are made up of three
fundamental subatomic particles, the electron, proton, and neutron (Atomic
Structure Prezi). Protons are of a positive charge, electrons are negatively charged
and neutrons are neutral. Atomic theory is the theory that all matter is made up of
tiny indivisible particles also known as atoms (Notes). In the late 1800 s a chemist

and electric fields. These experiments determined the ratio of its charge to its mass.

change the role of the federal government? Roosevelt s first task upon taking office
was to alleviate the panic that was threatening to create chaos in the financial
system. He did so in part by force of personality and in part by constructing very
rapidly an ambitious and diverse program of legislation. Much of Roosevelt s
success was a result of his cheerful personality. Beginning with his inaugural address

Although there was a lot of opposition to FDR s new legislation, it was also given a

Two days after taking office, Roosevelt issued a proclamation closing all American
banks for four days until Congress could meet in special session to consider
banking reform legislation. So great was the panic about bank failures that the bank
holiday, as the president euphemistically described it, created a general sense of
relief. Three days later, Roosevelt sent to Congress the Emergency Banking Act, a
generally conservative bill designed primarily to protect the larger banks from being
dragged down by the weakness of smaller ones. The bill provided for Treasury
Department inspection of all banks before they would be allowed to reopen, for
federal assistance to some troubled institutions, and for a thorough reorganization of
those in the greatest difficulty. On the morning after the passage of the Emergency
Banking Act, Roosevelt sent to Congress another measure the Economy Act designed
to convince fiscally conservative Americans that the federal government was in safe,
responsible hands. The act

that is difficult to lift, but you are able to do it with some effort. As that weight gets
easier to lift, add more. The idea is to build up slowly so you donГt risk injury
Historical Context
The act of dividing history into separate sections is often the focus of debate amongst
historians. Historians have a common understanding for these divisions of time which
assist in providing a platform for which to explore beyond. Critical history should be
as much concerned with contrastive fields and rejections of the norm as with
similarities. But the conventional must be known before the unconventional can be
recognized. This notion described by Alastair Fowler will ultimately result in a
defined focus on the minute variances within history. Therefore, subdividing history
into these periods will assist in finding idiosyncrasies of the composer s from that
era. This consensus offers a generalised idea of the social context that is crucial...

Furthermore, studying history, which entails encompassing ideologies, has caused
additional confusion in regard to the parameters of individual terms. Although a
comprehensive focus to detail is produced from periodization, important factors are
left unidentified leading to crucial links missing from the timeline of music history.
The social, political and economical aspects associated with these musical periods are
often broad and neglect the occasional shifts in these factors. Period terms produces
additional difficulty when analysing a particular composer with regard to determine
individuality. These overlooked shifts are concealed by the generalised notions of the
societal discourse present within a certain period. Ralph Cohen states that change and
development in literary texts ought to be analysed in terms of their genre over a
period of time, the duration of which is, in turn, determined by identifiable changes in
the texts belonging to that particular genre. Similarly, Mattix expands on this point
and indicates that it would be more beneficial to think of history in regard to changes

This perception when studying music history will effectively assist in contrasting the

further. Further confusion is created between historians and, an authors credibility

confined segmentations so as to allow historians to explored purposely without the
Council Of Chalcedon Essay
However, a diverse group ranging from the monks at Constantinople to Egyptian
bishops loyal to Dioscorus opposed the definition. They considered themselves as Pro
Nicene and anti Nestorian, but they worried that the council was being heretic .
Ultimately, the Chalcedonian definition stated that after the incarnation, Christ was
in two natures without mixture, change, division or separation .
Furthermore, part of the disagreement between the Eastern and Western Church was
because the definition stated that Christ is acknowledged in two natures, which come
together into one person and one hypostasis. The critics (some Eastern churches)
understood this to side with western Christology, they felt that it diverged from the
teachings of Cyril of Alexandria who said that Christ has one nature. The church of
Alexandria felt that the definition should have stated that Christ is to be
acknowledged as out of two natures and not in two natures . However, some scholars
argue that the language of two natures also derives from Cyril . Ultimately, the

In the case of Nestorianism, if the incarnation was a case of a male son of Mary
being indwelt by the divine son of God, then Jesus Christ is not different from a
Christian because Christians believe that they are indwelt by the son. If that was the
case, then the incarnation did not take place. This would make the doctrine of
atonement null and void because it would suggest that Christians were saved by a
human being leading to whether human suffering can atone for sins. In the case of
Eutychianism, if Christ s humanity was swallowed up in his divinity, then the
incarnation (God becoming man) did not really take place, but it seems to be more a
case of man extinguished and lost in God, thereby also making the incarnation null

The Battle Of Little Bighorn
This paper takes a look at the victory disease as illustrated in the historic example of
the Battle of Little Bighorn when Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer and
210 of his men where annihilated by some 2500 warriors from the Sioux and
Cheyenne Indian nations. Throughout history the United States military has suffered
from an invincible mentality, arrogance, and complacency all built upon by
numerous victories and a national psyche that creates military leaders who expect
overwhelming victories in any armed conflict we find ourselves in. The Battle of the
Little Bighornembodies many of the victory disease symptoms, as evidenced by
LTC Custer s over confidence and failure to follow orders. Historians and scholars
continue to analyze and critiqued the decisions made in combat by our military
leaders, for those decisions we make in combat effect the lives of many. This paper
will attempt to re dissect the battle and Custer s decisions in an attempt to find
additional courses of actions that may have been taken, and learn from his analytic
mistakes.
Battle of the Little Bighorn, over wise known as Custer s Last Stand, and the Battle
of the Greasy Grass by the Indians who were involved, took place on 25 26 June
1876. During this armed engagement between some 2500 members of the Sioux and
Cheyenne Indian nations and 600 Soldiers from the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the
United States Army a clear illustration of the cause and effect relationship between
Electric Cars Vs Gas Cars
Electric Cars vs. Gas Cars In contemporary world, the gasoline s price has increased
so much that there are less people to buy gasoline cars. Therefore, a newly
developed car which use the electricity as power comes into people s sight. There
are some comparisons and similarities between the electric cars and gas cars. The
electric vehiclesmashes the gas engine in terms of pollution. A study conducted by
the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power found that electric vehicles would
reduce emissions substantially over 100,000 miles, producing just 75 pounds of
pollutants, compared to the gas engine s 3,008 lbs. of pollutants. What is more,
electric cars and gas cars emit some similar pollution. However electric cars are also

The Effects Of Consumerism
Consumerism comes from the verb consume, which is rooted in the Latin word
consumere, meaning to use up or to waste. The noun consumerism also refers to a
movement that promotes the interests of consumers that is, people who purchase
goods, use them, and then buy more especially the protection of these consumers
from things like fraud or price gouging ( Consumerism). Consumerism has changed
over the thousands of years that people have been living. Some people believe that
consumerism is great where it helps stimulate the economy, but other people see it
as an evil force because it hurts people and makes them care less about their self and
the world around them. I can agree with the people that says it is good for the
economy; however, I have seen for myself that consumerism hurts people on different
levels that other factors can not compete with. I believe that excessive consumerism is

It often makes people think that they have to have the newest items, but an
experiment taken on by Alex Martin proves different. Alex Martin is a resident
from Seattle who decided to wear the same dress for a year in a way to protest
against consumerism in the fashion industry (Holt 2). In an interview that I have
read from NBC Learn, she had mentioned that she had seen that people did not
really notice that she had the same dress on every time they saw each other. She
said, We re all so concerned on about our own lives what we re wearing and our work
and our families we don t keep a mental tally of what people are wearing (Holt 2). I
can see her point of view from this angle and I say that I would have to agree with
Alex one hundred percent. From previous experiences, I have seen people wear the
same thing multiple days in a row, but my colleges have not noticed and tend to
believe that they are wearing something new everyday. This is not the mentality
people need to have on a day to day

Feminism in Northanger Abbey and Persuasion by Jane
Austen
Feminism in Northanger Abbey From my point of view, Jane Austen should be seen
as a feminist writer. As she wrote in one of her novel Persuasion, she considers that
Men have had every advantage of us in telling their own story. Education has been
theirs in so much higher a degree; the pen has been in their hands. I will not allow
books to prove anything (Anne Elliot, in Jane Austens Persuasion). Such feminist
ideas are expressed in many of her literary works. In her another novel Northanger
Abbey, there are various issues discussed, which include not only marriage, social
criticism and Gothic, but also feminism as well. The essay is to discuss Jane Austen
and her feminist thoughts by analyzing Northanger Abbey. The analysis will cover
three aspects. First of all, in her book, Jane Austen expresses the view that both
genders possess equal creative and intellectual qualities, and thus women are born to
be equal to men. Second, she expresses her skepticism towards the degree of
rationality and justice of the common social norms about female behavior. The third
aspect is that Austen also insists that women should act for themselves in a rational
way rather than merely trying to impress or to please the other sex. First, though Jane
Austen s Northanger Abbey is not completely categorized as a feminist novel, by
portraying the protagonist Catherine in the way Jane Austen does, she expresses her
opinion that women have been individuals with
Failure To Meet Zoning Laws
City governments are tasked with writing and enforcing zoning laws that define all
aspects of private use of property within the city s district. In order for businesses
and other groups to build and use plots, or zones, of land that they own within the city
s district, they must get approval from various city government officials. Failure to
meet zoningrequirements for the specific use proposed, as interpreted by certain
officials, results in denial of the entity from using their land for that purpose. On
March 22nd, I attended a meeting of the Salt Lake City Planning Commission (PC).
The meeting concerned approving group s proposed usage of propertythey own.
Specifically, I will write about the Other Side Academy s (OSA) proposalto build...

The meeting resolved the issue of theRuby s proposal to build townhouses, but the
status of the OSA s expansion is still uncertain. They cleared the first hurdle by
having the PC conditionally approve it, but they still need to appeal to the city
council to change zoning laws. I learned how zoning laws impact every aspect of
use of private property. This includes the proposed usage of each building and the
impact all structures have on the flow of foot and car traffic. I also learned all
about the good OSA are doing in trying to solve the problems of re incarceration,
homelessness, and drug addiction. I do not feel the meeting should be conducted in
a significantly different way. Having STAFF present the proposal from a neutral
perspective sets the facts down, so that the representatives of the program can
address the concerns of STAFF while also telling the PC their vision and positive
impacts of their program is a good order of
Psalms In The Hebrew Bible
Looking at the Hebrew Bible, the Psalms fall into the Ketuvim, or Writings. The
Hebrew Bible has Psalms listed as tehillГў; a derivative of hДЃlal. This root connotes
being sincerely and deeply thankful for and/or satisfied in the lauding a superior
quality(ies) or great, great act(s) of an object. The book of Psalmsrenders itself to
speak into every situation a person could have; in times of sadness, happiness,
when looking for some wisdom, or just feeling thankful for who he is and all he
has done in your life. Dr. Cartledge stated in his lecture on Psalms that the central
overriding theme of Psalms is the presence or absence of God. In the Jewish
tradition, there are descriptions at the beginning of the psalms that will tell either
who wrote it, who it is written to, or the song tune. When reading this scriptural
passage, the first thing I asked myself was,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Ernest Nicholson s review of The Sons of the Korah by Michael Goulder he found
information that dates it to the pre exilic times.
Goulder s thesis is that these psalms originated in northern Israel at the sanctuary
of Dan where they were related to the liturgy of the annual Festival of Tabernacles
in the month. Such evidence as they now contain of a setting in Jerusalem is
because they were transferred there and edited after the fall of the Northern
Kingdom in 722 BC. Two phases in the history of the collection in northern Israel
are discerned. In a first stage (ninth century) Ps. 84 (a pilgrim psalm) marked the
arrival of worshippers, and Ps. 85 (a national lament) marked the first day, 14th
The Relationship Between The World And Me, By Coates

In the novel, Between the World and Me, Coates writes a letter to his fifteen year
old son. He uses his personal experiences in order to explain the realities of being
African American to his son. He also reveals the scathing truth on the constant fear
present in society while growing up. Coates successfully shows how black people
experience of America was essentially different.
In the first part, Coates begins by introducing the idea of race. He explains how race is
an unchangeable characteristic, which is used to reduce and dehumanize people.
Furthermore, he states that attributing names based on personal appearances were not
originally used to characterize people, instead it was used originally to implement a

interested him. He especially emphasizes Malcolm X, where he describes Malcolm
s writings to be very honest. Lastly, Coates mentions how Howard University was
his Mecca. He explains how his views expanded after attending Howard and how
his different love interests influenced him. In the second part, Coates begins by
recounting when he got pulled over by the PG County police. He describes the
thoughts and fears present in his mind during the wait. The numerous the different
news stories, where there were reports of officers choking, shooting, and abusing
people, invaded his mind. However, the officer simply gave back Coates his
license and offered no explanation to why he was pulled over. Unfortunately,
Coates had read an article which reported the death of Prince Jones later that month.
Upon learning the story, Coates was in utter shock. The article stated that the Jones
was shot because he attempted to run over the officer. Coates was adamant over the
fact that the officer was lying and refused to give forgiveness. Furthermore, he was
indignant towards the final verdict, where it was decided that the officer would be
set free. In addition, Marx continues on by describing his life in New
The United Methodist Church’s Book of Discipline
Essay
The United Methodist Church s Book of Discipline states, Wesley believed that the
living core of the Christian faith was revealed in Scripture, illuminated by tradition,
vivified in personal experience, and confirmed by reason . This statement outlines the
concept of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral. Interestingly, John Wesley never actually used
the term quadrilateral and the American Methodist scholar, Albert C. Outler, who
later stated that he regretted doing so as it has been misconstrued, named it. As for
John Wesley, he was an 18th century British Evangelist who is credited for founding
the Methodist Christian movement. The Wesleyan Quadrilateral provides the format
for an organized study of Theology. The four properties are... Show more content on

It is imperative that we as humans study scripture reasonably and not view it in an
irrational manner. Tradition Tradition is the next aspect of the Quadrilateral.
Wesley recognized that traditions that the biblical followers of God and Christ
developed are of extreme importance and we should embrace, emulate and teach
them to each of our generations. Traditions allow us to remember where we came
from and the heritages that were developed and shaped us. Traditions like baptism
and communion are examples of actionable traditions that keep us aware and
focused on Christ and that He is alive in our hearts and minds. He also realized that
man inspired traditions make the Word of God ineffectual and we should not fall
prey to recognizing them as having merit. Experience Experience is the remaining
and probably most powerful aspect of the Quadrilateral. Wesley believed that our
personal experience with God leads us through life. It confirms God s presence in
our lives and the world through both practical experiences and the presence of the
Holy Spirit in our life. It is to be noted that this is not just any experience that a
person has, but the Christian experience that confirms Christ is now abiding in our
lives. It is the experience of the Holy Spirit and proof of the existence of God that we
are His children. Experience is also
Literary Analysis Of A Farewell To Arms
A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway is a well crafted novel that teaches its
readers about the causalities of war and the reality of life itself through a tragic love
story that captivates the audience s attention from the first line. I was cheering on
Catherine and Mr. Henry s relationship from the time they met in the villa garden
where she and Helen Ferguson were waiting. This work contained multiple themes,
including the reality of war, loveand the games involved, and many motifs such as
masculinity and femininity. After reading this novel, my understanding of how harsh
war is changed. As readers learn about the many deaths that occur on the front and
the heartache that soldiers and their loved ones feel as a result of these causalities.
This well written book had its fair share of symbols, like countless other works of
literature, which added depth to the storyline.
Hemingway has a realistic approach towards writing, and his descriptions in the
novel made me feel as though I was with Mr. Henry in Milan, Gorizia, or any of the
numerous European cities mentioned throughout the book. He is also very
descriptive about the different settings that Mr. Henry traveled. For example, in
one scene where Henry was in a coffee shop in Milan, Hemingway writes, It
smelled of early morning, of swept dust, spoons in coffee glasses and the wet
circles left by wine glasses (Hemingway 237). This style of writing is extremely
appealing to the senses, as Hemingway described sights,

Transhumanism In Eugenics
In Francis Galton s Eugenics: Its Definition, Scope, and Aims the purpose of
eugenics is to improve the human race. Eugenicists view the undesirable qualities in
a population as aspects of humanity that can be improved upon and developed
through the careful regulation of breeding within a society. If the breeding of
specific traits were to be controlled, the best possible offspring would be produced.
The desire to improve the humanraceis a theme also found in Nick Bostrom s

This is accomplished through the sterilization of those who are considered inferior. If
only superior humans breed, the rising generations of people will continue to
improve, resulting in the improvement of the society as a whole. The determination
of an individual s worth leaves too much room for opinion, resulting in an increased
risk that eugenics will be abused by those with racials biases. Transhumanists view
the purpose of transhumanism as being the enhancement of the human race
through highly regulated research/clinical trials and equal opportunity for all
races and classes of people to have access to the technology being used. The careful
control of technological advances and the focus on all classes and types of people
leaves very little room for the ideology to be abused by those with any kind of
racial biases. Both eugenics and transhumanism want to improve the human race in
one way or another, but they vary in the execution of their ideals. Eugenicists
scarcely acknowledged that their ideology could be misused and did not provide
safeguards in case it were to be misused. Transhumanists fully acknowledge the
risks involved with their ideology and carefully designed their ideology so as to have
preventive measures in place in case it were to

using Thomas Bertels and Arne Buthman s 10 Criteria for Evaluating Six Sigma
Project, using Low, Medium and High are enumerated below:
1.Link to Strategic Imperatives
This entails the act of creating short and long term plans to guide an organization to
continued and increasing success in this highly competitive business environment.
Project managers oversee specific projects ultimately designed to make progress
toward strategic planning objectives. Implementing projects putting planned projects
into action is important to both strategic planning efforts and project managers in a
number of ways.
High; This case is rated high on this parameter based on the fact that, there is a
greater link to strategic imperatives; improving the route review process and route
quality that the organization is determined to achieve.
2.Application of Six Sigma Tools
Six Sigma is a method that provides organizations tools to improve the capability of
their business processes. This increase in performance and decrease in process

examine the different fashion and stereotypes of infant clothing in different retail
stores. Different retail stores that sell infant clothes are Children Place, Walmart,
Carters, and several others. Infant s clothes are made up of many different types of
fashion. Fashions are many different popular styles or the latest trend in which a
person dresses or wear. According to Corley (2017), infants are babies from ages 0

is important because it can help the first time mom understand and have the
knowledge of knowing different prices, colors, sizes and styles of infant clothing. It is
also important because it tells what stores you can best shop at and the different

My Experience In Middle School
I knew that it would take some time to establish myself. While I was new to the
community, I believed I would and could be successful with some work. After all,
I had done so well in middle school. And then it happened; I entered the campus filled
with energy as I walked into the big brown building. It appeared to be so extravagant,
standing tall and surrounded by the bare trees. I knew what I was capable of and I
told myself, Don t let anyone get in the way . As the first bell rung, I was worried. I
took my seat at 8:15 and I already began to lose my focus. I stared at all the new faces
although I had yet to learn the names of my new peers. My staringcontest was

the teacher told me I was correct, but slipped under the desk as I was told it was not

not Knight Island (Dean et al. 2000). 19 sea otters were rescued and nourished
back to health from the Knight Island area which would all total to 165 sea otters
found in that area (Dean et al. 2000). There was a survey performed between the
years of 1993 to 1998 on the island and around it was observed that there were around
90 sea otters in the area, and in 1997 and 1998 there was only 76 sea otters (Dean et

The Importance Of Privacy And Data Encryption
In today s world we are so much dependent on technology, that the need for privacy
and data encryption has become more important to protect the importance of
information, such as credit card numbers, email messages, confidential company
information, banking details and other personal information. For example, when you
are at an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM), you do not want someone looking over
your shoulder for your PIN number. The same applies for email accounts, bank
accounts, Social networking accounts. And we do not want an unauthorised person
or a third party to monitor our movement over the internet. So as the computer
technology and Information technology have evolved, so is the need to secure date
increased. Internet usage has increased at an alarming rate, and now every person is
using the Internet for various purposes. Researchers have been working hard for a
very long time to make Internet and data sharing as safe as possible. They are trying
to find new methods of securing and transferring data across the internet and extranet.
History
Encryption is not new or limited to Internet. It has been into practice for a very long
time, in fact began thousands of years ago, however in a different format. The use of
cryptography dates back to 1900 BC, in Egypt which uses mystery paintings and
figures. In those days, it was not so much aimed for secrecy as it was to create
mystery or amusement for literate readers. Secret messages were used by the Greek
army, which
Secure Data Center
The Secure Data Center In today s world, data and access to that data are vital. The
speed and growth of technology have increased the uses and development of data
centers all over the world. Medical data is one such type of data that is pushing the
growth of these kinds of facilities. As increasingly organizations that provided
medical care move into the uses of digital medical records, the need for medical
data centers increases. In fact, some predicted that over the next five years, this need
would increase significantly (Jones, 2012). This paper is about building a physical
security data center for medical data collected and used by a United States Agency.
The Customer
While a part of the American Armed Forces, this agency provides medical services
and maintains records separately from the Department of Defenses. They utilize this
data to track and monitor the health of their almost forty thousand members, who
must be ready for worldwide deployments (Cummings, Mueller, Quan, 2011). They
have many small medical facilities all over the U.S., and medical date must safely
store and accessible always. The agency must be able to know the location of the
information while their members are deploying out of the country and around the
U.S. This is important to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This place is chosen for a couple of different reasons. Primarily is that the agency
already has a data center located in the area nearby, that manages pay and personal
records (U.S. Coast Guard Pay and Personnel Center, in press). Since this data
center is already located in the area and has been for many years, we know the
location works well for the access of the agency information. It also provides local
support, and an alternate way to communicate with all should the new records data
center have communication issues. There is also a large military Army base nearby
that provides support to the agency and the families of
Theme Of Barbie Doll And The Death Of Marilyn Monroie
Poetry has a way of expressing its rage, grief, and irony at society and its social
pressures. Although each poem is different, they can carry a similar message that
resonance with its audience. Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy and The Death of
Marilyn Monroe by Sharon Olds express how beauty weighs women s lives and
cause a tragic end from being the perfect specimen. Both discuss a similar theme but
carry the message out a difference way. In order to understand its similarities and
differences it is necessary to analyze the text to find its denotation and connotation.
The poems Barbie Doll and The Death of Marilyn Monroeshare the themes of death
and beauty, and how beauty affects society.
In Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy it tells the story of a ... Show more content on

Both poems use names from iconic beauty icons. Barbies are seen by little girls and
are the first things to influence how they should define beauty. Normally the dolls
have skinny bodies and small noses and are able to have multiple careers and are
admired by men. Thus, little girls grow up wanting to be like Barbie. Marilyn
Monroe is a sex icon who looks other women began to copy. Unlike Barbie she was
curvy and had an acting career, but she was also adored by men. Both icons
influenced women on how to look and impress men, but the influence becomes
problematic and difficult to maintain because only dolls and superstars to can
survive that life. Even idols cannot survive that life, as proven by Monroe. Only
Barbie, an object can be seen as the perfect woman. Both poems use these names to
highlight how impossible it is for women to seen as normal or to be accepted as
they are. Thus, an early death can happen when the pressure is too much to handle
and each poem has a tone of sadness at both women s death. However, the Death of
Marilyn Monroe encourages women to live and not be like the icons they admire,
while Barbie Doll see s it fit to strive for beauty until the

Essay 5 Paragraph. How To Write An Informative Paragraph Utaheducationfacts.com

  • 1. Essay 5 Paragraph Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay 5 Paragraph" can be more challenging than one might anticipate. The difficulty lies not in the simplicity of the topic itself but in the expectation to encapsulate a comprehensive discussion within the confines of a structured five-paragraph format. The constraints imposed by this format demand a concise yet thorough exploration of the subject matter, requiring adept organization and precise articulation of ideas. Firstly, condensing complex thoughts into introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs necessitates a meticulous selection of content and a clear delineation of key points. Each paragraph must seamlessly transition into the next, fostering a coherent progression of arguments. Striking a balance between depth of analysis and brevity poses a formidable task, as delving too deeply risks overshadowing subsequent points, while superficial treatment undermines the essay's efficacy. Furthermore, the rigidity of the five-paragraph structure may stifle creativity and inhibit nuanced expression. Crafting compelling arguments and providing sufficient evidence within the confines of this format demands a high degree of conciseness and precision in language, leaving little room for expansive exploration or elaborate prose. This constraint challenges the writer to distill complex concepts into digestible nuggets of information, sacrificing depth for breadth. Moreover, the demand for adherence to a standardized format may foster a sense of formulaic writing, detracting from the originality and authenticity of the author's voice. Striving to meet the expectations of a predefined structure risks sacrificing individuality in favor of conformity, potentially compromising the essay's ability to engage and resonate with readers on a personal level. In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "Essay 5 Paragraph" presents a unique set of challenges, requiring adept navigation of the constraints imposed by the format while endeavoring to maintain depth of analysis and originality of expression. Successfully navigating these challenges demands a keen understanding of the intricacies of the topic and a mastery of the art of concise and effective communication. What Is The Role Of Women In The Spanish Civil War Natalie House Dr. Delay Historian s Craft February 27 2017 Project Proposal The Spanish Civil war was a complex and tumultuous whirlwind of combating ideologies through the resulting emphasis on gender differences and maternalism, it played the catalyst in the bolstering prevalence of gender discourse. Although unlike traditional feminist movements, the women of the Spanish Civil War, specifically the Milicianas and Mujeres Libres were primarily in search of a voice in ongoing social revolution and less concerned with the acquisition of political equality. By taking into account the history of the social conditioning of Spanish women, I hope to analyze the changes in the sex gender system, wrought on by revolution and war by furthering examining

It was capable of firing at around one thousand eight hundred rounds per minute, roughly twenty five rounds per second. At Omaha beach there were five MG 42 heavy machine gunbunkers. This concludes that if all five MG 42 s were firing at one landing craft door, they would be hitting the landing craft with one hundred and twenty five rounds per each second. This caused most soldiers to jump out of the sides of the landing craft, which they were told to never to do. Since carrying one hundred pounds of gear, the soldiers would sink to the bottom and some would drown. However, the water actually became an advantage
  • 4. As The Attitudes Of American Households Begin To Shift, As the attitudes of American households begin to shift, the FCC should enact a new regulation to best fit the changing viewership of consumers. At its simplest form, this new rule would allow television consumers to have the option to pick and choose the individual television channels they desire to pay for, instead of having to pay for an entire cable package , while still including the basic cable service. Essentially, this new regulation would force cable TV providers to allow the option for an Г la carte pricing rate for expanded cable televisionservices. While the proposed rule would make cable providers deviate from market driven logic, the overall effects of it would alter the medium of television for the better. (Lotz... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 1992 act subjected cable rates to regulation under most circumstances excluding cable systems that were subject to effective competition. (Public Access Awareness Association) Also, it allowed the FCC to regulate rates for other service tiers if they found that a cable system s rates were unreasonable under FCC regulation. (McCarthy) Nevertheless, the 1992 act was followed by the Telecommunications Act of 1996. During this time, shifting cable policies and deregulation of ownership had massive implications for the industry s operation (Lotz 52) Thus, because of its intent to create a competitive market, the FCC was no longer able to regulate the rates for non basic service tiers. According to the FCC, basic cable service rates may be regulated by local franchising authorities such as the city, county or other governmental organizations, but are not required to do so. On the other hand, the rates you pay for other cable programming and services, such as expanded cable channel packages, premium movie channels and pay per view sports events, are set by your cable TV provider. (FCC) So, in actuality, the FCC still does not regulate any rates charged by cable providers, thereby giving them the monopolistic power of rate regulation and overall ability to engage in rate inflation. Although the FCC has attempted numerous deregulatory/regulatory measures, it still has not provided for what the

After Daisy crashes her car, her son decides to hire someone to drive his elderly mother around. As Daisy tries to retain her autonomy she refuses to let Hoke drive her, but eventually she gives in allowing Hoke into her life. This shows the key signs of memory deterioration as well as reasoning which are common in Alzheimer s ( Meyers, 2011, p. 460). These symptoms are present when Daisy keeps believing that she is a teacher and tries to convince Hoke too. A cause of this is the lack of the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine in the brain. As people grow older the neurons that make Acetylcholine can start to deteriorate and no longer produce this vital neurotransmitter, which is key in both learning and memory (Meyers, 2011, p. 57). Lack of Acetylcholine explains why when Daisy got older she showed the symptoms of these two degenerative diseases. Parkinson s disease is also common in the elderly population like dementia and Alzheimer s. Daisy shows symptoms of Parkinson s such as bradykinesia which causes Daisy to move slowly as she walks. She also shows the key signs of tremors as shown when she attempts to eat the pie and cannot stop shaking with the fork in her hand. Another symptom that Daisy shows is a change in the way she speaks, her speech pattern becoming slow and drawn out (Mayo Clinic). Parkinson s disease can be caused by a lack of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is integral in functions such as bodily movement, emotion, and attention. When the brain is devoid of dopamine it can create tremors which cause a loss of

Most of the money laundered today is done by some sort of organized crime, whether it is a drug cartel, illegal arms sale, smuggling, prostitution rings, the Mafia, or corporations. Organized crime has existed in the United States for many years. Some of the organized crime groups known for money laundering are: the Russian Mafia, the Triad, other wise known as the Chinese Mafia and the Yakuza. All of these groups are known for a variety of illegal activities that involve receiving substantially high profits. Some of these activities may include drug trafficking, illegal arms sale, and various other things. Recently law enforcement has discovered that corporations have been helpers in laundering money. This discovery leads back to the Black Market Peso Exchange. These corporations do not have a direct involvement with the laundering, but are a helping hand at times. Many times corporations are the supplier of goods for the broker. The perks that go along with being the supplier entail getting an exchange rate better than the market. An example of this is if a corporation has pesos that they need to exchange back into dollars, and the exchange rate is 1,000 pesos for 1 U.S. dollar, the broker may discount the rate to 880 pesos for 1 U. S. dollar. The initial stage occurs when a criminal, or a group of criminals, involved in an illegal activity make a substantial sum of money. The money is then put into the

Coming from a struggling family and friends that ignore her, Melinda has no one to tell. As her grades fall and her self esteem with it, she must choose to speak up against her rapist when he tries to take advantage of her again. In Laurie Halse Anderson s Speak, the uses of the author s life, the events that show the time period, and the philosophy of speaking up all contribute to why she wrote the novel. Laurie Halse Anderson faced many struggles as a young adult and shares her battles through the endeavors of the main characters in her books. From the beginning, Anderson wasn t the best student, spending much of her time daydreaming in the back row (Lew 11). Anderson started school as any other student. Good grades came easy and she was liked by her peers. Anderson also had a vivid imagination; she would imagine stories in her mind during random times of the day (Lew 11). Anderson also attended Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York for a two year associate s degree and then graduated from Georgetown with a bachelor s in language and linguistics (Lew 18). She has always enjoyed writing, and decided to pursue her dream of being an author because she felt the need to share her life experiences with others.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, a conclusion can be made that Anderson s work, Speak, uses the author s life, certain events that happen in the novel, and the ideology of speaking up to emphasize why she wrote the book. Melinda s life closely resembled Laurie Halse Anderson s, and the author has stated before that the purpose of her writings are to influence young people who are going through the same struggles of

Chipotle Incident Summary This report was commissioned to examine the Chipotle E.Coli outbreak that took place in the last quarter of 2015 and the internal crisis that ensued causing stocks to plummet and customers slow to regain trust. This research draws attention to the managerial strategies attempted after the outbreak to bounce back from the Foodwith Integrity broken promise. Chipotle started off strong in 1993 with its creative new take on a fast foodrestaurant by using fresh ingredients, which was sustainably grown, and showed respect for the animals, land, and farmers. This aspect of Chipotle is what helped it stand out amongst its competitors. The diligence put into preparing and catering the food to the guests is the epitome of exceptional customer service; thus leading to an exponential rise in sales and stock value for the company. This marketing tactic was a ploy to mask the severity of the epidemic, soothe investors, and retain loyal customers. In addition to paper ads, Chipotle decided to advertise using direct mail and television advertisements (Wahba, 2016). • 9. Why We Crave Horror Movies In his article Why We Crave Horror movies, Stephen King stresses the fact that we are all mentally ill, and explains why watching horror films is an effective way to deal with our inner insanity. According to King, we are all insane by human nature, and are made up of anticivilization emotions. These emotions are integral parts of our personalities, and in order to stay healthy, they demand periodic exercise. But living in society has taught us to repress these emotions, which is why he argues that watching horror films provide us with this psychological relief, allowing us to indirectly deal with anticivilization emotions. According to King, horror movies deliberately appeal to the worst in us, and therefore, perform the dirty job of satisfying our inner monsters. I disagree with King because horror movies can also have negative effects. In addition, people have different ways of channeling out uncivilized emotions. Horror movies can have negative psychological effects. Although some people enjoy the thrill and nastiness of horror movies, I, for one, do not. Watching horror films give me nightmares, and make me extra paranoid. Rather than my inner psyche feeling satisfied, I feel disturbed. Watching horror films can also cause heightened stress and anxiety. Under more serious conditions, horror films can even cause PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. A woman named Caroline appeared on the Dr. Phil show, who after watching a horror filmcalled Psycho,

[Document I]. Two days after taking office, Roosevelt issued a proclamation closing all American banks for four days until Congress could meet in special session to consider banking reform legislation. So great was the panic about bank failures that the bank holiday, as the president euphemistically described it, created a general sense of relief. Three days later, Roosevelt sent to Congress the Emergency Banking Act, a generally conservative bill designed primarily to protect the larger banks from being dragged down by the weakness of smaller ones. The bill provided for Treasury Department inspection of all banks before they would be allowed to reopen, for federal assistance to some troubled institutions, and for a thorough reorganization of those in the greatest difficulty. On the morning after the passage of the Emergency Banking Act, Roosevelt sent to Congress another measure the Economy Act designed to convince fiscally conservative Americans that the federal government was in safe, responsible hands. The act

Historians have a common understanding for these divisions of time which assist in providing a platform for which to explore beyond. Critical history should be as much concerned with contrastive fields and rejections of the norm as with similarities. But the conventional must be known before the unconventional can be recognized. This notion described by Alastair Fowler will ultimately result in a defined focus on the minute variances within history. Therefore, subdividing history into these periods will assist in finding idiosyncrasies of the composer s from that era. Furthermore, studying history, which entails encompassing ideologies, has caused additional confusion in regard to the parameters of individual terms. Although a comprehensive focus to detail is produced from periodization, important factors are left unidentified leading to crucial links missing from the timeline of music history. The social, political and economical aspects associated with these musical periods are often broad and neglect the occasional shifts in these factors. Period terms produces additional difficulty when analysing a particular composer with regard to determine individuality. These overlooked shifts are concealed by the generalised notions of the societal discourse present within a certain period. Ralph Cohen states that change and development in literary texts ought to be analysed in terms of their genre over a period of time, the duration of which is, in turn, determined by identifiable changes in the texts belonging to that particular genre. Similarly, Mattix expands on this point and indicates that it would be more beneficial to think of history in regard to changes within genres rather than in arbitrary period terms. Therefore, both Mattix and Cohen advocate this method as a substitute focal point as opposed to a focus on the period. This perception when studying music history will effectively assist in contrasting the characteristics of the composers and compositions as well as build a greater understanding of the music, composers and sociological factors. This, consequently, creates a gap in the transformation of music and divides these segments of time even further. Further confusion is created between historians and, an authors credibility can become undone as the result. Therefore, music history should not be limited to confined segmentations so as to allow historians to explored purposely without the

They considered themselves as Pro Nicene and anti Nestorian, but they worried that the council was being heretic . Ultimately, the Chalcedonian definition stated that after the incarnation, Christ was in two natures without mixture, change, division or separation . Furthermore, part of the disagreement between the Eastern and Western Church was because the definition stated that Christ is acknowledged in two natures, which come together into one person and one hypostasis. The critics (some Eastern churches) understood this to side with western Christology, they felt that it diverged from the teachings of Cyril of Alexandria who said that Christ has one nature. This would make the doctrine of atonement null and void because it would suggest that Christians were saved by a human being leading to whether human suffering can atone for sins. In the case of Eutychianism, if Christ s humanity was swallowed up in his divinity, then the incarnation (God becoming man) did not really take place, but it seems to be more a case of man extinguished and lost in God, thereby also making the incarnation null and

As she wrote in one of her novel Persuasion, she considers that Men have had every advantage of us in telling their own story. Education has been theirs in so much higher a degree; the pen has been in their hands. I will not allow books to prove anything (Anne Elliot, in Jane Austens Persuasion). Such feminist ideas are expressed in many of her literary works. In her another novel Northanger Abbey, there are various issues discussed, which include not only marriage, social criticism and Gothic, but also feminism as well. The essay is to discuss Jane Austen and her feminist thoughts by analyzing Northanger Abbey. The analysis will cover three aspects. First of all, in her book, Jane Austen expresses the view that both genders possess equal creative and intellectual qualities, and thus women are born to be equal to men. Second, she expresses her skepticism towards the degree of rationality and justice of the common social norms about female behavior. The third aspect is that Austen also insists that women should act for themselves in a rational way rather than merely trying to impress or to please the other sex. First, though Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey is not completely categorized as a feminist novel, by portraying the protagonist Catherine in the way Jane Austen does, she expresses her opinion that women have been individuals with

Wesley recognized that traditions that the biblical followers of God and Christ developed are of extreme importance and we should embrace, emulate and teach them to each of our generations. Traditions allow us to remember where we came from and the heritages that were developed and shaped us. Traditions like baptism and communion are examples of actionable traditions that keep us aware and focused on Christ and that He is alive in our hearts and minds. He also realized that man inspired traditions make the Word of God ineffectual and we should not fall prey to recognizing them as having merit. Literary Analysis Of A Farewell To Arms A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway is a well crafted novel that teaches its readers about the causalities of war and the reality of life itself through a tragic love story that captivates the audience s attention from the first line. I was cheering on Catherine and Mr. Henry s relationship from the time they met in the villa garden where she and Helen Ferguson were waiting. This work contained multiple themes, including the reality of war, loveand the games involved, and many motifs such as masculinity and femininity. After reading this novel, my understanding of how harsh war is changed. As readers learn about the many deaths that occur on the front and the heartache that soldiers and their loved ones feel as a result of these causalities. This well written book had its fair share of symbols, like countless other works of literature, which added depth to the storyline.
