Angels And Demons Antimatter Quotes
Humanity has grown and developed an intelligence that allows itself the ability to extirpate every
single human on the planet. Human can make the world into a destitute wasteland with the flip of a
switch. In the novel Inferno, this fear becomes a reality because maniac releases a plague that
spreads around the Earth that renders one third of the population infertile. While in the novel
Angels Demons, Robert Langdon is employed to find the people who have murdered a scientist at
CERN. The situation is ominous and incredibly complex because the murderers have stolen
antimatter which posses the ability to destroy a city. This journal will identify the importance of the
cluster of antimatter and Robert s Mickey Mouse watch in Angels Demons... Show more content on

This statement is supported by this quote: he wore Mickey as a daily reminder to stay young at
heart, (Brown 143). This explains that the Mickey Mouse watch represents that no matter how
professional and aged one is, they must always take some time to lay back and have some fun in a
childish manner. Furthermore, the watch is important because as Robert embarks on his
tremendously imperative and perilous mission to recover the mass of antimatter, he faces difficult
and harrowing situations. The watch will always be there to remind Langdon that he must always
remember to have some fun and remember the bliss of youth. The Mickey Mouse watch is an
innocent childish tokenв є (hyphenated modifier). Moreover, the Mickey Mouse watch relates to
the plot of the novel because of how much it contrasts the situation that Robert finds himself in. In
essence, the watch acts as a foil to the harrowing situation that the antimatter theft creates. The
mention of the Mickey Mouse watch provides irony due to its contrast with the present situation.
Undoubtedly, through the examination of the abovementioned quote it becomes apparent that the
Mickey Mouse watch is not only important in the novel, but also symbolizes youth and

The Growth Of Technology In The 21st Century
The Growth of Technology in the 21st Century and What It Stands For
Technology is continuously advancing in the 21st century, where medical research is being put into
practice, cars being modified to help reduce carbon emissions, and so on, all due to the constant
upgrades in technology. With it constantly advancing as time goes on, so has society and the people
that has lived in it, their lifestyles constantly changing in relation to how technology is changing,
with many benefits that are yielded from it, alongside with the negatives that can bring the society
down. Modern technology has made complex tasks possible with the use of robots and large
machines and tools is used to operate complex tasks, tasks that cannot be done by human skills.
People create and develop new inventions to overcome their physical limitations in what they can
do, and that is what technology does for us letting us do things that are not normally possible
through human actions such as contacting a person from across the world or providing an
abundance of light. Technology is the fruit of human ingenuity and tentative labor, whose
progression in the 21st century should still continue for the betterment of the people, while keeping
certain dangerous factors in check such as hacks and accentuating violence.
Communication has always been a core part of people s lives and it does not seem to be ending
anytime soon. Technology has drastically expanded this core aspect of people s lives, with the usage

Persuasive Essay On The Good Life
The Good Life What is the good life? my friend asked me in a feeble attempt to produce ideas for
his Philosophy paper. Aside from the obvious answer of using material items to generate
happiness, the question drove me consider what made someone s life inherently good. A few
days after our conversation, I read Open Door by Rebecca Solnit. This passage helped me to
eventually answer his question. Throughout Open Door, Solnit defines, exemplifies and reasons,
and explores the ideas of losing one s self in order to achieve the good life. Understanding what it
means to lose one s self is imperative in order to comprehend the rest of this passage. The idea of
losing yourself is, a voluptuous surrender, lost in your arms, lost to the world, utterly immersed in
what is present so that its surroundings fade away (Solnit 16). Taking part in losing yourself will
allow you to find answers to what is unknown to you. The journey to the unknown and the
unknown itself are transformative; however, many individuals do not care for the unknown or are
unaware of it. Those who do not care for the unknown typically fear for what it will bring. In today
s society, adults restrict their children to playing indoors rather than developing an adventurous and
imaginative persona outside of the house, for they believe their children will hurt themselves. Solnit
expresses her concern for this generation by wondering what will come of placing this generation
under house arrest (Solnit 7). She

Music Programs Throughout The United States
Music programs throughout the United States are making quite the hurrah, and yet seem to never
be heard by the classmates and staff that walk the same halls as them. The lack of appreciation of
the music and arts programs throughout America is astonishing, and heartbreaking to many of the
students, parents, and staff that are involved with them. There are more than a few causes that can
be held responsible, however the main three are a lack of funding, lack of support from
administration and staff, and the lack of equal support amongst students involved in different
activities, such as sports, clubs, and musicprograms, all of which have led to a decrease in student
participation in music. However, there may be a solution in sight, with the help of some creative
thinking on the part of the administration, the support of the staff members, and the
acknowledgment of the student body.
There are many benefits to music. It s a way for students to express themselves, create bonds,
learn life skills, and improve their minds. Studies have shown that music can benefit a student
academically, as well as mentally. Not only that, but if introduced in earlier childhood, music can
actually help a child with their linguistic development. As stated by Laura Lewis Brown in her
article The Benefits of Music Education, While children come into the world ready to decode
sounds and words, music education helps enhance those natural abilities. (1). I have been in band

The Conflict Between The United States And The Middle East...
The conflict between the United States and the Middle East is of great concern in the world today
because of the heightened tensions in Syria, which is being terrorized by the radical Islamic group
called ISIS. ISIS is not only creating conflict in the Middle East, they are also a homeland security
threat to the United States because of the fear of terrorist attacks. Scholars and Theorists like
Samuel Huntington have addressed the question of why states are experiencing heightened tension
and have concluded that conflict in states or between states is the result of ethnic differences,
namely religion and culture. Samuel Huntington s essay, Clash of Civilizations, is extremely
interesting because I always questioned what would have happened if every race were to stay in the
territories they inhabited, like North America where Aboriginals settled, and the Middle East where
the Arabians settled. Samuel Huntington s essay invites you to ponder the idea that each
civilization has different cultural and religious differences and that these differences clash and
result in conflict between civilizations. Although Samuel Huntington s essay is intriguing, there are
misconceptions about his ideas regarding Muslims. This essay will analyze the historical
misconceptions that Samuel Huntington portrays, which are his view of Muslims and Christians
always being at war, his lack of knowledge of the Crusades, and his idea of the West is the best .
The first problem with Samuel Huntington s

The 6 Principles Of Persuasion
Define and discuss the 6 principles of persuasion.
SIX PRINCIPLES OF PERSUASION
1 PRINCIPLE OF RECIPROCITY
This principle is born out of societal norm and culture. It is a principle whereby people do things
for you in expectation that you will do something for them. What they expected you to do might
just be verbal or physical action. For instance, when you walk into a shop to buy something, and the
shop attendant goes out his/her way to research for information to enable you understand the
product or service better. You can really see that the shop attendant was not showing any sign of
being busy, rather he was even the one suggesting more things that will lead to her making more
research.
Of course, he expects you to patronize them after putting him through all the stress looking for more
information. Otherwise all his efforts and time would have been in futility.
2 PRINCIPLE OF SCARCITY.
In this situation, the salesperson or sales letter try to create an artificial scarcity based on a
discount, or based on the limited quantity available for supply. For instance, a company sent a
sales letter that first of all showed all the benefit I stand to gain on a package that is worth $29,000,
but they can sell the package on promotion for $5,000 if I buy before 31st December, 2015. In
other words, it is a scarcity based on time and season.
3 PRINCIPLE OF AUTHORITY
This principle bother on how much you know about the product. If you have to exercise the

Sheila Birling Responsibility
The play An Inspector Calls by J.B. Priestley is about a wealthy family in pre war England. At
this period at of time, society was capitalistic, with very strong inequalities between the middle
and upper class and distribution of wealth. The playwright t refers to this family as the father Mr.
Birling is a wealthy manufactory owner and his wife Mrs. Birling is an aristocratic woman who
sees herself as the most powerful, because of her social position. The family is celebrating the
engagement of their daughter Sheila when suddenly the whole atmosphere changes as a mysterious
inspector arrives. Priestley s aim was to reinforce the main themes: Responsibility, Generational

accepts her fault, as she is completely ready to take full responsibility for her actions. To
strengthen the theme of inequality and injustice the playwright shows how even thought not long

anyhow. Now Sheila contradicts with her parents: But these girls aren t cheap labor they are

The Chocolate War Character Analysis
The most memorable character in the book The chocolate War was Jerry Renault in my view
because he was a very influential character and stood up for what he believed in. The first thing
that stood out to me was that Jerry s mother had just passed away which was a very hard thing to
over come. He is also becoming a stronger person because he has decided to stand against the
universe, because he is tired of getting pushed around and told what to do. Also with the vigils
breathing down his neck to complete the assignment of not selling for the chocolate sale was a
big deal and put stress on him. I also feel that Jerry has become a stronger person because he has
to watch after his father. Jerry has become worried that his father is living

Political Participation Of Women Essay
Country: Germany Committee: UN Women Topic: Encouraging Political Participation by Women
School: Williamston High School Delegate: Lia Bommarito Throughout history, women were not
seen as equal to men. Even in 2017, marginalization and oppression still persists in many regions
and states. Because of a long history of sexism and institutionalized that dates back to the first
functional societies, women are discouraged from participating in society politically. Oftentimes
the political participation of a group can be measured by active voting, as well as how many
parliament seats are held by women in each country; as of June 2016, only 22.8 percent of
parlimentarians were women, a slow increase from the measured 11.3 percent in 1995, and... Show

As for parliament participation, Germany is higher than the world average with a 39.1 percent
participation; but still only ranks number 22 in the world for female parliament percentages.
Despite Merkel s leadership, German sexism in politics still exists; despite the Chancellor being a
woman, not many lower or mid level governmental positions are held by women. Alice Schwarzer,
the country s best known feminist, lends her quote to this issue: Since 2005, little girls can decide:
Do I become a hairdresser or chancellor? While the state of gendered politics and participation may
outwardly seem fantastic, Germany still struggles with uplifting women; the climate for German
women in politics is icy, but warmer than most nations. Germany does not have to deal with
fundamental problems, such as removing all de facto restrictions on women s suffrage, or dealing
with assault on women for seeking education or leadership politically. However, Germany attempts
to manage the onslaught of hidden problems such as a wage gap higher than the European average,
lack of political representation in parliament, and feminist being percieved with a negative
connotation. Whether or not Germany must handle fundamental issues, the international
community has many nations still living in the midst of misogyny. There is no nation that still does
not allow women to vote; however,

Casablanca Film Analysis
Casablanca was released in 1942 by the director Michael Curtiz. The film was considered one of
the best motion pictures ever made. The film s multinational cast, strong emotions, and the love
triangle helped it become a classic film remembered for all time. The scene I will analyze is the
last scene in the filmwhere Rick Blaine and Ilsa were saying their final goodbyes as an airplane

history of cinema itself.
This scene had four main characters who were Rick Blaine played by Humphrey Bogart, Ilsa Lund

hand she also says that she is in love with Rick, back when they were in Paris and also after she
arrived to Casablanca. Her feelings are always dreamy and vague which makes it hard to
understand what she wants. Ilsa didn t had an easy life, and one of the greatest tragic in the whole
film is her fate. Finally, at the closing scene of the film, one can feel that the chances of Ilsa living

The First Act Of Terror
For many years now, the United States has been fighting a war on terrorism. The first act of terror,
that was committed on the soil of the United States in my lifetime, was that of September eleventh.
It took nineteen hijackers, to bring America down to its knees by striking both world trade centers,
the pentagon, and flight ninety three which was responsible for the killing of almost three
thousand people. These attacks created a huge burden on our first responders and hospitals. The

Are They All From Down Under? When you think of animals in Australia, you think of koala bears

Australia are originally from there and do not live anywhere else in the world. Wombats, can toads,
and kangaroos are three great examples, native or not, of how these fascinating animals who live
down under survive. Wombats are native animals of Australiaand over the years they have had to

Source 2 discusses, these toads were brought to Australia from Hawaii to try and lower the cane
beetle population. However, these toads had no effect on these creatures, but they do have some
physical attributes which are deadly to other native creatures of Australia. These toads are toxic,
predators who are native to Australia do not have any immunization to this poison (Source 2).
The cane toads poisonous abilities allow it to protect itself from predators it may have in
Australia. These abilities also allow the toads to capture their prey with more ease because their
prey are not immune to their poison. Source 2 states, cane toads kill native predators such as the
quoll, a cat like marsupial . These toads feed on native animals of Australia, whether they are eating
the right animals is another debate. Since these animals feed on native predators of Australia, there
is not a shortage of them in their habitat. The cane toad can easily find food in Australia, therefore
they can easily stay healthy and survive in Australia. Therefore, their reproduction rate is very high.
According to Source 2, the cane toad population has reached beyond two hundred million. Their
high reproduction rate shows the cane toads have not struggled to mate whilst living in the
conditions of Australia. Therefore, since cane toads have easily been able to adapt to life in
Australia, they have been able to continuously reproduce, generation after generation. Even though
cane toads are not native to Australia, they have not struggled to adapt to life

Why Was Hitchcock Considered An Auteur
Every film that is made has a collective group of people who lend their vision to a film. The term
auteur theory, originating in France in the 1950 s, is a French word that means author and in the
world of cinema that would mean the director is the one who is the major creative force behind the
film. As stated in the article The Auteur Theory, the term author carries another association namely,
the idea of a lone, individual creator. With the word auteur being involved it means that the director
is not only the one in charge of directing the film, he would have say or input of other mediums
like for instance a painter or a writer. They are rebels against a collective group effort and instead
go rogue in making decisions on their own disregarding input from the team and most importantly
the studio backing the film. The directors choice to take on full ownership of films leaves... Show

I had seen his version of Psycho and really loved it. Watching Shadow of a Doubt, it proved why
Hitchcock is considered an auteur in many ways. While the term was coming into play,
Hitchcock had a unique vision in his films that differentiated with other filmmakers. He is a
superb master of building suspense and mystery, keeping the audience s nerves always on high
alert. His cinematic technique exemplified camera viewpoints, editing, suspense building. His
shot of facial expressions in the film is startling especially in Shadow of a Doubt because it
showed changes in personality in an instance. When you have films that have strong structure and
shows that he is the one who has complete control over the films he makes. This is his way of
making all his films his, putting a stamp on them. I think what separates him from others is the fact
that he had cameo appearances where he can have his image promoted in his own way. It s like an
artist putting their signature on a painting. Thus making it their own work of

Freudian Theory In The Film Inception
1. Throughout the movie Inception, Christopher Nolan utilizes the Freudian Theory to explain the
many experiences Cobb has within his dreams. The most prominent exemplification of this theory
is Cobb repeatedly seeing a subconscious projection of his wife, Mal, within his dreams. After Mal
committed suicide by perceiving herself in an altered state of conscious (a dream) as she was
attempting to wake up from it; Cobb s guilt of causing her accidental death by performing
inception on her led him to flee his children and abandon his previous life in search of a way to
clear his tainted memories.
Despite these attempts, Cobb s guilt infiltrated its way into his own subconscious and projected
itself in his dreams. The Freudian Theory on Dreaming, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The feelings of unfulfilled desires Cobb has are clearly portrayed by the visions of his children that
he abandoned (not entirely thanks to the help of Professor Miles).
The movie Inception portrays the states of consciousness by using the totems the characters had
created to differentiate their altered states of conscious (dreams) from their conscious. Cobb s
totem was a wedding ring that he would be wearing while dreaming and not when not dreaming.
The final scene left off for open interpretation as it did not portray the state of conscious Cobb
was in, as his wife s totem (a spinning top) was not revealed to have toppled (as it does in reality)
or continued spinning (as it does in his dreams).
2. The movie Inception explains how our mind constructs dreams from subconscious thought
processes that are fueled with hopes and ideas for what we our life to be (what Disney defines as
dreams ). An example the construction of a reality within a dream would be The city Limbo that
Cobb and Mal both created together while undergoing inception. Limbo was Cobb and Mal s ideal
world in which they would use figments of their past experiences from reality (Mal s childhood
home) to construct a subconscious

Wealth Management Is The Process Of Meeting The Needs Essay
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WEALTH MANAGEMENT Wealth management is the
process of meeting the needs and wants of affluent clients by providing financial products and
service. Since ancient Roman senators hired financial advisers to lend out their money, people with
wealth have needed someone to manage it. High net worth individuals thus call upon wealth
managers to help them develop strategies of how to effectively manage their wealth. The term
wealth management started in 1933 and came into more use in the private client divisions of firms
like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. These firms formed divisions which were designed to
deliver different services from those offered to the mass market. Wealth managers provide clients
with a wide range of services, depending on the client s needs and the focus of the firm. Tax

Effects Of Divorce On Well-Being
The purpose of this paper is to further examine the effects of parental divorce on the college
student well being. The effects of parental divorce are often based on adolescent well being,
contrary this paper aims to shed light on the effects on young adults. Research for this paper was
collected from a variety of sources including; web pages and psychological journals, studying well
being. The questions addressed in this paper include how does family and the importance of family
effect college studentwell being and how does a parental divorce effect college student well being.
Keywords: well being, college, student, divorce, family As Brad Henry, the former governor of
Oklahoma once said families are the compass that guide us. They are the inspiration to reach
greater heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter. According to Collins Dictionary
family can be defined as a group of people living under the same house: household, a group of
people who are related to each other, and a group of things having a common source of familiar
features. (Definition of family. (2010)) Family and well being are both subjective and better
described than defined. Personally I view family as a system of individuals who provide
unconditional love and support and well being is the ability to feel content in where I am
personally, this involves finding a reasonable balance. The topic of family and college student well
being is incredibly important, having a support system during

Abstract . The Past Year Election Was One Of The Most...
Abstract The past year election was one of the most controversial elections I have seen. Even the
polls got the winner wrong. Since I have been in this country I have never seen a poll prediction
that has been so far off even the day of the election. In the next couple of pages an attempt to
explain what went so wrong with the polls. From the new era of cellphones, to hidden voters who
lied to the pollsters. To them not counting uneducated voters because they are less likely to vote.
Three lessons that we learned this past electionand one of the most important to me is to remember
that predicting the future is very hard. That no one can have 100% prediction.
What went wrong in 2016?

Pollsters underestimated the amount of Trump hidden votes. The number of people who were
undecided at the time of election day and then decided to vote for Trump. Some of them were not
even aware of their preference until election day.
Cell phones
Prior to cell phones, technology was less advanced meaning people still owned landlines.
Landlines were more accessible; pollsters just had to go to a phone book look at the number and
call. They also set a specific demographic on what county or region would vote for who.
Allowing them to also have a more accurate and random sample pulling. However, when cell
phones came into play, they do not allow to have much of an accurate or random pulling
anymore. One of the problems with cell phones is region. People move homes, with cell phones
they can keep their number even if they move from one state to another. Giving the pollsters
wrong data on region or county. Let s say someone from Miami moves to Frt. Lauderdale, they can
keep their area code number, making it bias for the pollsters.
Another issue with cell phones is that many of us like to keep our information private. Unlike
landlines, there is no phonebook to get the numbers from. Per Vann R. Newkirk II other online
surveys and methods have been tried in order

Candian Health Care
Canadian health care differs quite drastically from any other country. To begin with Canada s
health care system is built upon the Canada Health Act. The Canada Health Act is federal
legislation that puts in place conditions by which individual provinces and territories in Canada
may receive funding and get health care services.(Canadian Health Care, 2004) This act was put
into place in order to obtain the primary objectives of the Canadian health care policy which is to
protect, promote and restore physical and mental well being of residents of Canadaand to facilitate
reasonable access to health services without financial or other barriers.(Health Canada, 2010) There

(Long Term Care Canada, 2011) All in All for this form of service it would be beneficial for this
individual to either have private insurance or for the family to care for them. Palliative or End of
life care is an issue faced in every country, and every country handles this situation differently.
Canada has a rather large support for Palliative care. This form of care can take place in several
different settings such as, hospitals, long term care facilities, home or hospice. The care can be
provided by nurses, physicians, social workers, spiritual advisors, trained volunteers, family and
loved ones. (Health Canada, 2010) Once again this form of care is not required under the Canada
Health Act, it is up to the province/territory to determined coverage. Certain provinces/territories
do include this service in their provincial health plans while others include it in provincial home
care budgets or other health service budgets. While it may be covered, many families still carry
a burden of about 25% for caring for their family members at home or at any facility other than a
hospital (Fact Sheet: Hospice Care, 2012, p. 5). The association that provides the assistance to
every Canadian resident is Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association. Health care procedures
are completed based on the necessity of the procedure. Acute hospital care is covered according to
the Canada Health Act. These services may include, diagnostic

Essay on Overcoming my Fear of Roller Coasters
I have this fear that causes my body to shake. When I think about it, my skin becomes pale and
cold. It s death speeding through my mind. Once I have seen these monstrous roller coasters, the
only thing in my mind was fear. Knowing that I m afraid to go on these rides, I didn t want to look
like a fool in front of my friends. My mindis thinking of deadly thoughts. My palms were sweaty
and I was twitching like a fish. I was petrified of heights.
We pulled into the roller coaster park in our Ford Excursion truck. It was me and my dearest
friends. Our stomachs were growling like mountain lions. We haven t had a chance to get something
to eat during the trip. I opened the container of ham and cheese sandwiches and have had three

My sense of security is screamingly absent. Their main attraction in the park is called, dragster,
shooting out to 500 feet in the sky, with a straight angle going down. My friends have been on
my tail about not being scared and not worrying about anything. The thing is, is that the roller
coasters go so high and fast, with no guard rails on the sides. That places deadly snap shots in
my head. While looking around in my surroundings, seeing huge bulging rocks, a beautiful sky
blue lake with swans swimming and floating mindlessly. We overheard the staff members that
were running this killer ride talking about shutting the ride down. That brought shock into my
eyes. I was nervous once again. It seemed hopeless, as if they were going to shut down the ride
because we were the next ones in line. My friends wanted to go on this ride so bad that we had
waited over an hour and a half in this line. During the last five minutes we had become very
paranoid. Wouldn t it be funny if those brakes at the top weren t working? Joe said, laughing at
something that wasn t funny at all. Just shut up, was the only thing I thought of. All of a sudden we
hear this arcade type noise and lights were flashing. The ride had opened up again. The crowd was
yelling and chanting. Everyone was happy.
We were next in line and my friends were telling me not to be scared and close your eyes while you

The Conflict Of Sophocles Antigone
Sophocles Antigone centers around a familial feud that develops between Antigone and Creon
when Antigone decides to bury her brother and Creon s niece, Polyneices. While Antigone believes
that it is her religious and familial duty to bury her brother, Creon objects, citing the Theban civil
war which took place right before the events of the play. Adhering to Greek literary tradition,
Sophoclesultimately seeks not just to entertain the audience but also to teach a moral lesson, in this
case about the consequences that ensue when a tyrannical ruler disobeys divine rule, violate
religious obligation, and attempt to place government over religion. In developing the plot and
conflicts of the text, Sophocles explores three unique but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When one considers Antigone s actions against period social norms, it becomes apparent that
Antigone serves as a foil to the established stereotype of a traditional Greek woman who is
supposed to be pure, soft spoken, and nearly subservient, much like Ismene is. Antigone s
contradiction to societal norms serves to emphasize the severity of Antigone s rebellion as one not
only against Creon but also against society as well. From this interaction, the audience can glean
that Antigone is not only viewed as rebellious because of her actions, but also because of her
sex, which inherently exacerbates the severity of her crime. Creon s first accusations against the
perpetrator of the burial support this initial claim. Creon refers to the criminal as a he and implies
that Creon cannot fathom that a woman might commit a crime against his rule. Thus, a theme of
gender roles emerges, further showing Antigone s idealism since Antigone believes that she is
able to act in rebellion of the throne regardless of established gender roles and that she has the
same fervor to fight against wrongs perpetrated by the government as any male would have. Such
defiance gives Antigone the characterization of a double minority in Theban society: first because
she is a woman and secondly because she questions Creon s rule. Moreover, as posited by

Bonding Chemical Properties
The overall purpose of this lab was to see how bonding effects chemical and physical properties.
The lab consisted of 6 compounds Dodecanoic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Duodecose, Octadecanoic
Acid, Potassium Bromide and Amylose. Using these compounds, tests were conducted on their
appearance, solubility in distilled water, conductivity and melting point. There are 3 groups these
compounds can be organized into. One group is Dodecanoic Acidand Stearic Acid. Another group
is Duodecose and Amylose and the last group is Sodium Chloride and Potassium Bromide. These
compounds are put into these groups because of their similar structures and properties.
Dodecanoic Acid and Octadecanoic Acid are in the same group because they are both made up
long chains of carbon and carboxyl groups, and are non polar covalent bonds. In non polar
covalent bonds electrons are shared equally, and held together by atoms. Both Dodecanoic Acid
and Octadecanoic are made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. The data shows they are insoluble,
this is because of their long chains of carbon, and a carboxyl group (COOH) at the end causes them
to have increasing hydrophobic which decreases their solubilityin water. The data also shows they
are poor electrical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

them soluble which is supported by the data. Duodecose and Amylose are both bad conductors
because of their polar covalent bond. Since covalent bonds do not contain ions, they don t carry
any charge therefore making Duodecose and Amylose low conductors. Duodecose and Amylose are
in the same group because they both have hydroxyl groups, and are polar covalent

The Consumption Of Wine Consumption
1. Introduction
Forecasting is an essential part to all business as this support the direction the business will be
heading. Looking through wine consumption through previous years will help forecast the future
years. The consumption of wine is growing every year worldwide. Australia is the largest country
that can produce red wines, white wines and other wines in every climate and soil type found
(Australian Government, 2014, para. 14). This report will include a line graph showing the

It shows that the actual volume of pure alcohol and the forecast is nearly the same. It has
increased slightly a little but not dramatically. For the actual result of volume of beverage and the
forecast it nearly the same as well, however the forecast increased in 2014 and 2015. In 2007 the
forecast decreased.
4. Whom and the purpose the forecast is used
The forecast used in this wine consumption shows different trends in the future. Forecast is using
previous data to determine the future information in the wine industry. Hence, forecasting is
important as this can predict how much white table wine, red table wine, other wines and the total
wine consumption for the future. An example can be liquor shops because they can use the forecast
from the wine consumption to see how many wines are being bought from customers in the future
as this can help the liquor shops determine how many wines they need to buy to supply for the
customers. Also bars might like to look through the volume of pure alcohol and the consumption
from customers to see how many they will need to purchase.
However, forecast is never accurate, it is an estimation of numbers for managers to look at so they
have a number to look at so they can purchase the products but forecast is a number that is close to
the actual result.
With forecasting the per capita consumption for wines, Australia s government can use the results

A Brief Note On Coronary Artery Disease Prevention
Coronary artery bypasses surgery, percutaneous angioplasty stent, aspirin use, cholesterol lowering
therapies, and increased awareness of coronary artery disease prevention are the main strategies for
the preventive treatment of SCD [166]. As the main etiology behind coronary artery ischemia is
the plaque rupture, methods to prevent plaque rupture, plaque stabilization, decreasing plaque
formation and searching risk markers for sudden plaque rupture should be discovered. The role of
cholesterol in SCD have been studied in many studies and there are both kind of results, some
suggesting its significant role [39, 167] while other without any significant role [83].Low density

This different expression of cell cycle regulatory proteins may be responsible for apoptosis of
vascular smooth muscle cell and plaque destabilization [171]. Rao et al studied the mechanism
of plaque rupture in carotids and proposed the mechanism by which EGFR activation induced
MMP 1 and MMP 9 decreases the interstitial collagen causing plaque instability and increased
vulnerability of plaque rupture, paving a future direction for translational approach of this
concept for the prevention of myocardial infarction. It was also proposed that for plaque
stabilization, selective blockade of EGFR and MMP 9 may be a promising strategy [172].
Identification of specific markers indicating a plaque prone to rupture and risk predictors for
plaque rupture is an interesting area for further research. Currently we are working on the role of
HMGB 1, RAGE, ENRAGE, TLR 4, TREM 1, TREM 2, MMP 1 and MMP 9 in plaque stability
and destabilization in carotid artery. Acute unstable arrhythmias should be treated with external

Noah s Ark Fairytale
Is the Noah s Ark story true or just a nice fairytale? There are many questions that people wonder
about this biblical story but one of the major ones that people are asking is, could the boat stay

have discovered that in order to float, the object has to exert the same amount of force on the
water as the weight of the water it displaces. If the object had a greater density than the water it
would sink. They calculated that the empty boat would have no problem at all staying afloat on
the ocean. The ark was about the size of a very small cargo ship. It was discovered that the ark

Controlling The Borders Of The United States And Mexico
Controlling the borders of the United States and Mexico has always been a dilemma that seeks
attention and needs a new, innovative way to reduce the amount of immigrants crossing the
border illegally. Many attempts have been made by current presidents as well as previous
presidents who have had different views from each other and are still unable to solve the hurdles
of controlling the border. Mai Ngai makes the struggle known by stating that the previous
attempted laws that have been put in place to solve the problem will end in another failure. She
calls them inhumane and hopes to give immigrants a chance for citizenship. Although I Agree with
Mae Ngai s Idea of putting in a system that stresses the principles of flexibility and fairness,
however I see faults in her view point of welcoming immigrants to the country to work. On the other
hand I do not think that all immigrationshould be cut off entirely, as that may cause negative
effects on the America s economy. Mai Ngai mentions that the United States One size fits all rule
favors northern and western European immigration and is a restriction on densely populated
countries like Mexico. If this law were to allow a higher percentage of immigrants to be
documented and allowed in the United States, then negative effects would ensue in places near the
border like Texas. When the population increases rapidly it will be harder for police enforcement
and may cause an increase in pollution and poverty. This is something UTA

Comparing The Frog Prince By Robert Coover And Joyce Thomas
It has been debated on whether or not the transformation from a slam on a wall to a kiss shows
female empowerment in the various versions of The Frog Prince. Modern writers have
expressed their stance on how the kiss functions within the story to transform characters and
deliver them to their happily ever after. Other implications of the kiss would be it s ability to
serve as a means of empowerment for women and whether it aids to overcome the patriarchy.
Robert Coover s and Joyce Thomas s versions of The Frog Prince offer two contemporary
perspectives on the transformation of the prince and princess and the resulting happily ever after.

Much as they have large roles, though, it is to Genji that the narrative returns time and again. A
major ambition of many members of the aristocracy in the world of Heian court was to present a
daughter to the Emperor, or his Heir Apparent; the supreme goal of a non imperial noble was to
be the grandfather (via his daughter) of an Emperor. As a result, the Emperor usually had a
range of recognized relationships with women, not so much as a result of sexual
acquisitiveness, but because he was virtually required to make his prestige relatively widely
accessible. These ladies did not all have equal rank; those on the lowest rungs had a birth rank
which was too low, and they also lacked the necessary political support. 1. In the table below, list
the characters in the first four chapters, identify their types, and describe their traits. Type your

The Importance Of Objects In My Life
Most individuals have an object that holds a high value to them and affects their life in one way
or another. Behind each object, is a story to be told. Like most people, I have an object in my life
that I cherish dearly and will always appreciate because of the positive effect it has on my life.
The object is soft to the touch, is a variety of colors, and can be made into a tangible object. The
object is extremely important in my life because it has taught me a life lesson that I will always
cherish and the object also reminds me of an individual that pushes me to be the best individual I
can possibly be and strive for greatness no matter the state of a situation. I first encountered this
object when I was about eight years old. I encountered this object when I was at my grandmother
s house on a Saturday. My grandmother was sitting down underneath the porch and I was right
beside her. The view was unbelievably astonishing! Although my grandmother and I were just in
the backyard, I remember the grass, trees, and plants being greener than ever and reflecting the
light off that came from the sun. It was a beautiful day; the weather was warm, there was a slight
cool breeze, birds were chirping, and the sun was glistening beautifully on my grandmother s skin
and mine as well. When I first encountered the object, the only people that were involved was my
grandmother and I. I patiently watched my grandmother precisely while she worked her hands with
the yarn and created

Pros And Cons Of Composite Restorations
I would hope that when a dentist watches a video like I saw, red flags would be waving violently
in their mind with some of the opinions displayed. Let s recap. Three dentists walk into a bar...
sorry, walk out of a lecture on tooth colored restorations. After coming together, the three dentists
had radically differing personal views on composite restorations. I couldn t help but compare the
situation between Doctors Bently, Cruz, and Godwin to a situation every car owner in America
faces often. Choosing between a conventional motor oil and a fancy synthetic oil in front of a
mechanic or sales person has many similarities to choosing between the silver fox of fillings,
amalgam, and the newer tooth colored composite fillings in front of a dentist.... Show more content

One example is Dr. Bentley, who in the film has many eye rolling opinions and even some ethical
breaches. Dr. Bentley is the mechanic that will only put synthetic oil your car. She thinks that
synthetic oil should always replace conventional oil, only wants the upscale market , and will even
swindle you into thinking synthetic oil always has the advantage, even though she knows it might
not be necessary for your car. Nonmaleficence is an ethical principle of doing no harm. If your
amalgam filling, unattractive as it may be, is still serving the tooth well, then nonmaleficence tells
us don t replace perfectly working amalgams with composite just because it is more modern. What
about catering only to the upscale market? That s a justice offense. What about other patients. Do
they not deserve to have their lower end treatments at your boutique office? The worst ethical
principle offense from Dr. Bentley is with veracity. She outright decrees that she only discusses the
advantages of composite, understands that doing composites means she can do more of them due to
reduced longevity, and hits unconvinced patients with that ubiquitous if you were my family tag
line to trigger an emotional decision in the doctor s

Venture Capitalists are a company or wealthy individual who is prepared to invest in a young or
new business . Obtaining Venture Capitalist finance can be highly beneficial to a small business
as it may be able to acquire a large amount of capital, of which would not have been possible
through other methods of finance, such as a bank loan . Venture Capitalist investment is further
financially viable as a business is not obligated to repay the investment it receives. This method
of finance is based upon the investor s decision to take a risk on a business in anticipation of its
success. In addition to its financial beneficence, acquiring this form of capital can provide a small
or new business with valuable business expertise, as investors are able to provide key advice and
guidance as well as industry connections. Making better decisions can be vitally important for a
business growth .
In despite of its advantageous aspects, Venture Capitalist finance upholds the disadvantage of loss
of control for a business owner. Typically, venture capitalists will require 25% 49% of the equity
and a seat on the board so that their investment can be monitored and advice given . This results in
a partial loss of autonomy for the business as the Venture Capitalist is involved in decision making
processes, this would not be the case if an alternative source of finance was obtained. In addition,
securing Venture Capitalist investment is often a difficult and time consuming

Improve Your Sax
One of the most common struggles new saxophone players must overcome is the quality of the
tone. The saxophone isn t the easiest instrument to play, as you need to learn to manipulate the
airflow in order to create the unique and pure tone.
If you are struggling with a rough tone, sudden squeaks or bad intonation, the following tips will
help you improve your control of the airstream. These exercises will improve the tone of your sax
and take your playing to the next level.

Boost Your Vocal Cords
You also want to focus on your vocal cord, also known as the larynx. This is because it regulates
the air speed and will help make the sound clearer.
A simple way to exercise your larynx is to sing sirens up and down. You could also try to sing the
vowel sounds A, E, I, O and U at a steady pitch. This is a great exercise to do right before your
playing sessions.
Focus on Avoiding Puffed Cheeks
Most saxophonists starting out make the mistake of puffing their check when they play. You
shouldn t intentionally puff them, as this will inhibit some of the muscles you should be using to
fix intonation.
Try playing a high E while saying first the word heel and the word pool . Notice the difference?
You can see how the tongue affects the sound of your saxophoneand you can use this to your
advantage.
Learn the Right Mouth Positioning
The embouchure, which is the way you hold your mouth on the mouthpiece, is crucial aspect of
tone development. It is important to pay attention to this right from the start.

Of The Vietnam War Burdens In Tim O Brien s The Things...
Forty two years after the Fall of Saigon, the Vietnam War remains an affliction for Vietnam War
Veterans and their families. Millions of our youth were forced to leave their home and carry
inconceivable burdens. Thus, as a Vietnam War Veteran, Tim O Brien can depict thoroughly our
Veterans burdens in The Things They Carried . His story brings us to First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross
and his platoon in war torn Vietnam. Cross is the commanding officer; however, he does not
concentrate on the war but on his unrequited love. As a result, a Viet Cong kills one of his
subordinates, Ted Lavender. His death traumatizes the platoon, especially its commander.
Furthermore, the narrator also depicts the burden of not only their equipment but also their
psychological distress. In response to O Brien s short story, Steven Kaplan writes a criticism The
undying uncertaintyof the narrator in Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried. . In his criticism,
Kaplan focuses on the uncertainty of the war. He argues that O Brien s ultimate purpose is to
display the undying uncertainty of the Vietnam War (10). Despite his concrete and logical
argument, he fails to address the significance of the soldiers physical and psychological burdens,
which emphasizes the story s theme; therefore, his argument does not delineate the story entirely.
Even though he does not describe the full theme, he uncloaks the general mood of the story.
According to Kaplan, the only certain thing during the Vietnam War was

How Does Shakespeare Use Racial Prejudice In Othello
More than Jealousy and Love: Othello
While reading any literary work, there are lots of conceptions that you have to consider, even if
the genre of it is romantic or comedy, it might have all kinds of hidden things. You have to have
an open mind to see all that. Reading can be an opening for the mind to see how people used to
live and how they are living now. Othello one of the most interesting plays that talk about very
important issues, like love of course, racial prejudice, and being an outsider.

Muslims to attach his place within mainstream Christian Venetian society (http:/www.litcharts.com

Conformity Quotes
The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice, it is conformity. This powerful quote comes
from Rollo May, an American psychologist. This quote acts as a huge indicator as to how hard it is
to break norms. Subsequently, it also reveals that society tends to reject or make it difficult for
those who go against the grain. A few examples of society having adverse reactions to deviation can
be found throughout the world. A significant example is the treatment of women like Malala
Yousafzai who attempt to gain an education. Another event in which society rejected those going
against the norm is ongoing persecution of homosexual men in Chechnya. Additionally, the theme

this prejudice in almost aspect of their lives. While under British rule, lots of migration occurred
between India and Myanmar, as it was considered internal migration it was legal under British rule.
After independence was gained by Myanmar, they declared all the immigration was illegal during
that time and accused the Rohingya of coming to Myanmar illegally. This led to the rejection of
citizenship for those under the Rohingya ethnic group, leading to them being stateless. In response
to their presence, the Myanmar government forced these Rohingyas into ghettos and restricted
almost every single right they once had, eventually going as far as raiding those in Rohingya
camps.. This population faced countless atrocities simply for being of that ethnic group. The
actions of Myanmar s government show the how far extent that persecution against those who

Totalitarianism In Dystopian Literature
Dystopian Literature The Dystopian novel is created by the illusion of a perfect political and social
structure in a community. Dystopian literature exposes the negative results of the poor decision
making of society. Unlike a Utopia, that is an ideal world, a dystopia is the contrary: a world in
which everything is unpleasant, typically a totalitarian or enviromentally degraded one. The
government is usually a controlling one and it tries to maintain a perfect society by using
technological and moral control. These novels often feature different kinds of repressive social

In this literature the society itself is tipically the antagonist, because society is the one against
the aims and desires of the protagonist. The government enacts this oppression then resulting in
the loss of civil liberties like controlling a person s sexual or reproductive freedom. A novel
called Among the Hidden is about a dystopian world in which you can t have more than two
children as a family. The family in the novel have three children and the novel revolts around the
life of the third child that lives hidden in the basement so the population police won t find him
and kill him with his family. To a person that does not care about having children or is fine with
having just one, he does not consider this world a dystopian world, as it is called. Someone who
would like to have more than two children considers this world a dystopian one. The dystopian
novel is determined as one depending on one s point of view. The societies can be depicted as
utopias when they are probably dystopias. In a dystopia, society gives up something for the benefit
of another thing that blinds society of the loss of what they gave up, but after sometime they will
notice the loss is affecting them and that s when they figure out they are living in a dystopia. The

However I have indeed had large groups of people listen to me before, and I ve given speeches in

Some of what i m going to say is boring and I m going to ramble.. well ramble more, and all of

  • 2. Angels And Demons Antimatter Quotes Humanity has grown and developed an intelligence that allows itself the ability to extirpate every single human on the planet. Human can make the world into a destitute wasteland with the flip of a switch. In the novel Inferno, this fear becomes a reality because maniac releases a plague that spreads around the Earth that renders one third of the population infertile. While in the novel Angels Demons, Robert Langdon is employed to find the people who have murdered a scientist at CERN. The situation is ominous and incredibly complex because the murderers have stolen antimatter which posses the ability to destroy a city. This journal will identify the importance of the cluster of antimatter and Robert s Mickey Mouse watch in Angels Demons... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This statement is supported by this quote: he wore Mickey as a daily reminder to stay young at heart, (Brown 143). This explains that the Mickey Mouse watch represents that no matter how professional and aged one is, they must always take some time to lay back and have some fun in a childish manner. Furthermore, the watch is important because as Robert embarks on his tremendously imperative and perilous mission to recover the mass of antimatter, he faces difficult and harrowing situations. The watch will always be there to remind Langdon that he must always remember to have some fun and remember the bliss of youth. The Mickey Mouse watch is an innocent childish tokenв є (hyphenated modifier). Moreover, the Mickey Mouse watch relates to the plot of the novel because of how much it contrasts the situation that Robert finds himself in. In essence, the watch acts as a foil to the harrowing situation that the antimatter theft creates. The mention of the Mickey Mouse watch provides irony due to its contrast with the present situation. Undoubtedly, through the examination of the abovementioned quote it becomes apparent that the Mickey Mouse watch is not only important in the novel, but also symbolizes youth and ... • 3. The Growth Of Technology In The 21st Century The Growth of Technology in the 21st Century and What It Stands For Technology is continuously advancing in the 21st century, where medical research is being put into practice, cars being modified to help reduce carbon emissions, and so on, all due to the constant upgrades in technology. With it constantly advancing as time goes on, so has society and the people that has lived in it, their lifestyles constantly changing in relation to how technology is changing, with many benefits that are yielded from it, alongside with the negatives that can bring the society down. Modern technology has made complex tasks possible with the use of robots and large machines and tools is used to operate complex tasks, tasks that cannot be done by human skills. People create and develop new inventions to overcome their physical limitations in what they can do, and that is what technology does for us letting us do things that are not normally possible through human actions such as contacting a person from across the world or providing an abundance of light. Technology is the fruit of human ingenuity and tentative labor, whose progression in the 21st century should still continue for the betterment of the people, while keeping certain dangerous factors in check such as hacks and accentuating violence. Communication has always been a core part of people s lives and it does not seem to be ending anytime soon. Technology has drastically expanded this core aspect of people s lives, with the usage ... • 4. Persuasive Essay On The Good Life The Good Life What is the good life? my friend asked me in a feeble attempt to produce ideas for his Philosophy paper. Aside from the obvious answer of using material items to generate happiness, the question drove me consider what made someone s life inherently good. A few days after our conversation, I read Open Door by Rebecca Solnit. This passage helped me to eventually answer his question. Throughout Open Door, Solnit defines, exemplifies and reasons, and explores the ideas of losing one s self in order to achieve the good life. Understanding what it means to lose one s self is imperative in order to comprehend the rest of this passage. The idea of losing yourself is, a voluptuous surrender, lost in your arms, lost to the world, utterly immersed in what is present so that its surroundings fade away (Solnit 16). Taking part in losing yourself will allow you to find answers to what is unknown to you. The journey to the unknown and the unknown itself are transformative; however, many individuals do not care for the unknown or are unaware of it. Those who do not care for the unknown typically fear for what it will bring. In today s society, adults restrict their children to playing indoors rather than developing an adventurous and imaginative persona outside of the house, for they believe their children will hurt themselves. Solnit expresses her concern for this generation by wondering what will come of placing this generation under house arrest (Solnit 7). She ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Music Programs Throughout The United States Music programs throughout the United States are making quite the hurrah, and yet seem to never be heard by the classmates and staff that walk the same halls as them. The lack of appreciation of the music and arts programs throughout America is astonishing, and heartbreaking to many of the students, parents, and staff that are involved with them. There are more than a few causes that can be held responsible, however the main three are a lack of funding, lack of support from administration and staff, and the lack of equal support amongst students involved in different activities, such as sports, clubs, and musicprograms, all of which have led to a decrease in student participation in music. However, there may be a solution in sight, with the help of some creative thinking on the part of the administration, the support of the staff members, and the acknowledgment of the student body. There are many benefits to music. It s a way for students to express themselves, create bonds, learn life skills, and improve their minds. Studies have shown that music can benefit a student academically, as well as mentally. Not only that, but if introduced in earlier childhood, music can actually help a child with their linguistic development. As stated by Laura Lewis Brown in her article The Benefits of Music Education, While children come into the world ready to decode sounds and words, music education helps enhance those natural abilities. • 6. The Conflict Between The United States And The Middle East... The conflict between the United States and the Middle East is of great concern in the world today because of the heightened tensions in Syria, which is being terrorized by the radical Islamic group called ISIS. ISIS is not only creating conflict in the Middle East, they are also a homeland security threat to the United States because of the fear of terrorist attacks. Scholars and Theorists like Samuel Huntington have addressed the question of why states are experiencing heightened tension and have concluded that conflict in states or between states is the result of ethnic differences, namely religion and culture. Samuel Huntington s essay, Clash of Civilizations, is extremely interesting because I always questioned what would have happened if every race were to stay in the territories they inhabited, like North America where Aboriginals settled, and the Middle East where the Arabians settled. Samuel Huntington s essay invites you to ponder the idea that each civilization has different cultural and religious differences and that these differences clash and result in conflict between civilizations. Although Samuel Huntington s essay is intriguing, there are misconceptions about his ideas regarding Muslims. This essay will analyze the historical misconceptions that Samuel Huntington portrays, which are his view of Muslims and Christians always being at war, his lack of knowledge of the Crusades, and his idea of the West is the best . The first problem with Samuel Huntington s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The 6 Principles Of Persuasion Define and discuss the 6 principles of persuasion. SIX PRINCIPLES OF PERSUASION 1 PRINCIPLE OF RECIPROCITY This principle is born out of societal norm and culture. It is a principle whereby people do things for you in expectation that you will do something for them. What they expected you to do might just be verbal or physical action. For instance, when you walk into a shop to buy something, and the shop attendant goes out his/her way to research for information to enable you understand the product or service better. You can really see that the shop attendant was not showing any sign of being busy, rather he was even the one suggesting more things that will lead to her making more research. Of course, he expects you to patronize them after putting him through all the stress looking for more information. Otherwise all his efforts and time would have been in futility. 2 PRINCIPLE OF SCARCITY. In this situation, the salesperson or sales letter try to create an artificial scarcity based on a discount, or based on the limited quantity available for supply. For instance, a company sent a sales letter that first of all showed all the benefit I stand to gain on a package that is worth $29,000, but they can sell the package on promotion for $5,000 if I buy before 31st December, 2015. In other words, it is a scarcity based on time and season. 3 PRINCIPLE OF AUTHORITY This principle bother on how much you know about the product. If you have to exercise the ... At this period at of time, society was capitalistic, with very strong inequalities between the middle and upper class and distribution of wealth. The playwright t refers to this family as the father Mr. Birling is a wealthy manufactory owner and his wife Mrs. Birling is an aristocratic woman who sees herself as the most powerful, because of her social position. The family is celebrating the engagement of their daughter Sheila when suddenly the whole atmosphere changes as a mysterious inspector arrives. Now Sheila admits that she is guilty and accepts her fault, as she is completely ready to take full responsibility for her actions. To strengthen the theme of inequality and injustice the playwright shows how even thought not long ago in the paly she has fired a girl from the shop just because she had been in a bad temper anyhow. Now Sheila contradicts with her parents: But these girls aren t cheap labor they are people. • 9. The Chocolate War Character Analysis The most memorable character in the book The chocolate War was Jerry Renault in my view because he was a very influential character and stood up for what he believed in. The first thing that stood out to me was that Jerry s mother had just passed away which was a very hard thing to over come. He is also becoming a stronger person because he has decided to stand against the universe, because he is tired of getting pushed around and told what to do. Also with the vigils breathing down his neck to complete the assignment of not selling for the chocolate sale was a big deal and put stress on him. I also feel that Jerry has become a stronger person because he has to watch after his father. Jerry has become worried that his father is living ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Political Participation Of Women Essay Country: Germany Committee: UN Women Topic: Encouraging Political Participation by Women School: Williamston High School Delegate: Lia Bommarito Throughout history, women were not seen as equal to men. Even in 2017, marginalization and oppression still persists in many regions and states. Because of a long history of sexism and institutionalized that dates back to the first functional societies, women are discouraged from participating in society politically. Oftentimes the political participation of a group can be measured by active voting, as well as how many parliament seats are held by women in each country; as of June 2016, only 22.8 percent of parlimentarians were women, a slow increase from the measured 11.3 percent in 1995, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As for parliament participation, Germany is higher than the world average with a 39.1 percent participation; but still only ranks number 22 in the world for female parliament percentages. Despite Merkel s leadership, German sexism in politics still exists; despite the Chancellor being a woman, not many lower or mid level governmental positions are held by women. Alice Schwarzer, the country s best known feminist, lends her quote to this issue: Since 2005, little girls can decide: Do I become a hairdresser or chancellor? While the state of gendered politics and participation may outwardly seem fantastic, Germany still struggles with uplifting women; the climate for German women in politics is icy, but warmer than most nations. Germany does not have to deal with fundamental problems, such as removing all de facto restrictions on women s suffrage, or dealing with assault on women for seeking education or leadership politically. However, Germany attempts to manage the onslaught of hidden problems such as a wage gap higher than the European average, lack of political representation in parliament, and feminist being percieved with a negative connotation. Whether or not Germany must handle fundamental issues, the international community has many nations still living in the midst of misogyny. There is no nation that still does not allow women to vote; however, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The film s multinational cast, strong emotions, and the love triangle helped it become a classic film remembered for all time. The scene I will analyze is the last scene in the filmwhere Rick Blaine and Ilsa were saying their final goodbyes as an airplane was in the background setting was one of the greatest scenes in the history of romantic films and the history of cinema itself. This scene had four main characters who were Rick Blaine played by Humphrey Bogart, Ilsa Lund played by Ingrid Bergman, Victor Laszlo played by Paul Henreid, and Captain Louis Renault played by Claude Rains. She believes she love Laszlo, but on the other hand she also says that she is in love with Rick, back when they were in Paris and also after she arrived to Casablanca. Her feelings are always dreamy and vague which makes it hard to understand what she wants. Ilsa didn t had an easy life, and one of the greatest tragic in the whole film is her fate. After Mal committed suicide by perceiving herself in an altered state of conscious (a dream) as she was attempting to wake up from it; Cobb s guilt of causing her accidental death by performing inception on her led him to flee his children and abandon his previous life in search of a way to clear his tainted memories. Cobb s totem was a wedding ring that he would be wearing while dreaming and not when not dreaming. When one considers Antigone s actions against period social norms, it becomes apparent that Antigone serves as a foil to the established stereotype of a traditional Greek woman who is supposed to be pure, soft spoken, and nearly subservient, much like Ismene is. Antigone s contradiction to societal norms serves to emphasize the severity of Antigone s rebellion as one not only against Creon but also against society as well. From this interaction, the audience can glean that Antigone is not only viewed as rebellious because of her actions, but also because of her sex, which inherently exacerbates the severity of her crime. Creon s first accusations against the perpetrator of the burial support this initial claim. Creon refers to the criminal as a he and implies that Creon cannot fathom that a woman might commit a crime against his rule. Thus, a theme of gender roles emerges, further showing Antigone s idealism since Antigone believes that she is able to act in rebellion of the throne regardless of established gender roles and that she has the same fervor to fight against wrongs perpetrated by the government as any male would have. Such defiance gives Antigone the characterization of a double minority in Theban society: first because she is a woman and secondly because she questions Creon s rule. The lab consisted of 6 compounds Dodecanoic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Duodecose, Octadecanoic Acid, Potassium Bromide and Amylose. Using these compounds, tests were conducted on their appearance, solubility in distilled water, conductivity and melting point. There are 3 groups these compounds can be organized into. One group is Dodecanoic Acidand Stearic Acid. Another group is Duodecose and Amylose and the last group is Sodium Chloride and Potassium Bromide. These compounds are put into these groups because of their similar structures and properties. Dodecanoic Acid and Octadecanoic Acid are in the same group because they are both made up long chains of carbon and carboxyl groups, and are non polar covalent bonds. In non polar covalent bonds electrons are shared equally, and held together by atoms. Both Dodecanoic Acid and Octadecanoic are made up of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. The data shows they are insoluble, this is because of their long chains of carbon, and a carboxyl group (COOH) at the end causes them to have increasing hydrophobic which decreases their solubilityin water. For the actual result of volume of beverage and the forecast it nearly the same as well, however the forecast increased in 2014 and 2015. In 2007 the forecast decreased. 4. Whom and the purpose the forecast is used The forecast used in this wine consumption shows different trends in the future. Forecast is using previous data to determine the future information in the wine industry. Hence, forecasting is important as this can predict how much white table wine, red table wine, other wines and the total wine consumption for the future. An example can be liquor shops because they can use the forecast from the wine consumption to see how many wines are being bought from customers in the future as this can help the liquor shops determine how many wines they need to buy to supply for the customers. Also bars might like to look through the volume of pure alcohol and the consumption from customers to see how many they will need to purchase. However, forecast is never accurate, it is an estimation of numbers for managers to look at so they have a number to look at so they can purchase the products but forecast is a number that is close to the actual result. With forecasting the per capita consumption for wines, Australia s government can use the results from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many questions that people wonder about this biblical story but one of the major ones that people are asking is, could the boat stay afloat with all of the animals in it? Scientist have discovered that in order to float, the object has to exert the same amount of force on the water as the weight of the water it displaces. If the object had a greater density than the water it would sink. They calculated that the empty boat would have no problem at all staying afloat on the ocean. Controlling The Borders Of The United States And Mexico Controlling the borders of the United States and Mexico has always been a dilemma that seeks attention and needs a new, innovative way to reduce the amount of immigrants crossing the border illegally. Many attempts have been made by current presidents as well as previous presidents who have had different views from each other and are still unable to solve the hurdles of controlling the border. Mai Ngai makes the struggle known by stating that the previous attempted laws that have been put in place to solve the problem will end in another failure. She calls them inhumane and hopes to give immigrants a chance for citizenship. Although I Agree with Mae Ngai s Idea of putting in a system that stresses the principles of flexibility and fairness, however I see faults in her view point of welcoming immigrants to the country to work. On the other hand I do not think that all immigrationshould be cut off entirely, as that may cause negative effects on the America s economy. Mai Ngai mentions that the United States One size fits all rule favors northern and western European immigration and is a restriction on densely populated countries like Mexico. If this law were to allow a higher percentage of immigrants to be documented and allowed in the United States, then negative effects would ensue in places near the border like Texas. After coming together, the three dentists had radically differing personal views on composite restorations. I couldn t help but compare the situation between Doctors Bently, Cruz, and Godwin to a situation every car owner in America faces often.
