Symptoms And Treatment Of Cancer Patients
1.Introduction:
The numbers of people who are dying due to crucial diseases such as cancer have increased, according
to world health organization (WHO) cited in Jane et al (2008), in
2005, 7.6 million people died from cancer, a figure expected to increase to 9 million people by 2015 ,
and increasing further to 11.4 million dying in 2030. Therefore, scientists have attempted to find
appropriate solution for those problems. Since the nineteenth century, solutions have been introduced
by scientists, that use radiation for the diagnosis of diseases instead of surgery (Pope, 1999), which
has led to great
advances in medicine because diagnostic technology such as CT and X rays scanning, nuclear
medicine (PET) and mammography, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

interactions are in two main different ways:if ionizing radiationdirectly interacts,it is
calleda chargedparticle. On the other hand, if it indirectlyinteracts,it is known
uncharged particle (Knoll, 2010).
2.1.1 Charged particle: This type interacts directly with matter, which can be
generatedfrom fast electrons such as Beta particles or from heavy charged particle
such as; alpha particle.
Beta particle:Most radioactive nucleuses are not stable. Therefore, they start
emitting radiation to be stable, Beta particle is of the type radiation (Graham et al,2012).
This is emitted by radioactive nucleus, the atomic mass number of radioactive nucleus
decreases by one .On the other hand ,atomic number remain the same. It can be seen
from the equation:
(_Z^A)X→(_Z+1^A)Y+ÎČ^ ................. (Knoll, 2010)
Thus, z= is atomic mass number of radioactive nucleus
A= Atomic number
X= is radioactive nucleus before emitting
Y= Radioactive nucleus after emitting
Secondly: Alphaparticle produces from the same way of Beta particle; how
ever, the main difference alphaparticle isheavy charged particle and is used in

Baptist Church Experience Paper
In my experience at first progressive Baptist Church I was very much out of my comfort zone because
not only did I not feel as welcomed but it was a little awkward because of all the looks I was
receiving. I felt I was not dressed as they were and felt as if I didn t fit in and right away I just didn t
feel appropriate with my attire. While I was there I actually had people wanting to shake hands and
asking me questions about me coming and there was one man who just stared at me and so it was
uncomfortable and didn t know how to react. While I was there I started to notice that there is a little
difference from the church I go to and the music was way different as well, everyone will talk back
with amen or thank you Jesus. The difference ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think the service was a very good eye opener because I m the type of person to try new things and
like to experience other cultures and as well as religion. I think it s a big deal knowing that I went to
this service with shyness but also facing my fears because at the end of the day I know I tried
something new even when I hesitated to go in the church by myself. Not only did I feel like I was
getting looks I thought I was actually gonna get told to leave just because he color of my skin and I
don t know why I thought that but it was just a feeling I had since I had never been to a African
American church before especially a baptist church. During the service I was actually feeling the
energy that was going on in the room and it made me just want to shout like everybody else but I felt
like it was my primary church in a strange way but I really enjoyed every minute of it regardless of
what I thought at first when I walked in. After the service was done we had a prayer and he went to

The Four Stoke Farm Bikes
 Description of the product: The four stoke farm bikes also known as a quad, quad bike, three
wheeler, or four wheeler, is defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a vehicle
that we can drive on low pressure tires, with a seat that is comfortable and easy to drive for the driver,
along with handlebars for handling control. As the name implies, it is designed to handle a wider
variety of terrain than most other vehicles. Although it is a street legal vehicle in some countries, it is
not street legal within most states and provinces of Australia, the United States or Canada. Each
agriculturist and each homestead bicycle has a particular employment to accomplish, and specific plot
of area to handle. It may be a 2 wheeler ranch bicycle you require, it may be a 4 wheeler, or it may be
both. You might use your farm bike for herding or for tack on towing. For riding to the once more of
the station or for swinging around the way of life piece. It may need to handle the slopes or just take

Essay on Gangs of New York
Picture Manhattan in 1860, a time before the city had been dolled up and gotten ready for the silver
screen, before the glamour and allure took over. Amsterdam Vallan (DiCaprio) is a young Irish man
that migrates to the USA at a young age. Amsterdam s story takes place in Five Points District of New
York, a filthy and dangerous part of the city before it was deleted form history. As a young boy Vallan
witnessed his father s murder at the hand of William Cutting or Bill the Butcher (Day Lewis) during
one of their many gang wars. As Amsterdam s story progresses along side The Butcher they become
inseparable, but Amsterdam had ulterior motive. Ultimately, Amsterdam attempts to betray his new
found ally in order to avenge his father s death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Trouble begun to stir when the new comers needed jobs, and the taxes along with the amount of space
changed drastically. The amount of disgrace bestowed upon the points came across clearly from
Amsterdam s perspective. He saw the filth and hatred, yet he stayed and battles because it was his land
and he had the right. Similarly, Mag s trademark was her ability to bite of rowdy customers, and she
displayed these anatomical trophies in a pickle jar up on the back bar. (Slayton 19), the influent loons
who had lived in the era and were historical characters were present through Amsterdam s life as well.
Though after ruckus upturned by the gangs, street names were changed and Little Water Street was
deleted, in order to clear the slum and undergo the demolition of a shameful part of history. That the
place known as Five points has long been notorious... as being the nursery where every species of vice

The Impact Of Stuxnet Worm On The World s Nuclear Facilities
Another occurrence of cyberwarfare and its power lies within the Stuxnet worm, unleashed primarily
to attack Iranian industrial programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in the nation s Nuclear facilities.
The Stuxnet worm is typically introduced to its target environment via an infected USB flash drive,
and upon being loaded onto a computer running the Microsoft Windows operating system the worm
would then seek out Siemens Step7 software. This software will then allow for Stuxnet to control
Iranian PLCs, collecting information on industrial systems and causing the fast spinning centrifuges to
tear themselves apart. Stuxnet s complexity is evident in its three prong approach to infection: It
unloads a worm that executes all routines related to the main attack, it executes a link file that
automatically activates other copies of the worm on the same network, and it activates its rootkit,
which allows it to hide its processes and activity on the local computer as well as the entire computer
network. Kaspersky Lab, an international software security group operating in almost 200 countries
and territories worldwide, concluded that the attack is a one of a kind, sophisticated malware attack
backed by a well funded, highly skilled attack team and that the attack could only be conducted with
nation state support and backing . In May 2011, the PBS program Need To Know cited a statement by
Gary Samore, White House Coordinator for Arms Control and Weapons of Mass Destruction, in

Essay On The Composition Of Capital Inflows
In figure 3, Cho and Rhee (2014) show the composition of capital flows for all 10 Asian Countries
excluding Hong Kong and Singapore. While the FDI was quiet stable, the portfolio investment part
decreased from 2.2% of GDP in 2007 to 2.9% in 2008. Also, the other investment part of capital
inflows, like bank loans, declined since 2007; nevertheless, it rebounded over than the pre crisis level
and became the major source of capital inflows after GFC. Cho and Rhee (2014) explain the
composition of capital inflows by individual country in figure 4. It is easily to notice that both
financial hubs, Hong Kong and Singapore, have more than 10% of GDP which was led by other
investment part. In terms of two G2 countries, Japan and People s Republic ... Show more content on

Increasing money impacts Asian economy on capital flows and on either exchange rates or housing
prices significantly. The result of this section is quiet interesting. The QE of US brought huge capital
inflows into Asian economies. There are two ways that it can influence: 1) a large amount money
flows into the emerging markets to buy their currencies which investors expected they would increase
values relative to USD; then, the expectation caused the appreciation of currencies. 2) however, if the
central banks of some certain economies try to stabilize their exchange rates not to appreciate, the
effect of QE would show in the housing markets, the most important household assets in most Asian
countries. In real terms, Cho and Rhee (2014) indicates in the figure 5 that the housing prices nearly
double in Hong Kong and India since the fourth quarter in 2008 to 2012. Also, in Taiwan, the housing
prices rose by almost 60%. In Malaysia, it increased by around 30%. Economies with stable or rigid
exchanges suffer from large increasing in the housing prices. Figure 6, calculated by Cho and Rhee
(2014), demonstrates the relationship between exchange rates and housing prices. From the figure 6, it
is obvious that Japan is an outlier. As a result, we show two situations in the figure 6, with and without
Japan. Including Japan in the calculation, the correlation coefficient between exchange rates and
housing prices is o.84.

My Experience At A Young Age
At a young age I became aware of my passion for people. I spent long summers volunteering at
nursing homes, and working with friends to do constructive projects around the community. During
my teenage years I was well known for my loving spirit and compassion for people. I was a problem
solver and as well the go to person for family and friends. This passion continued throughout my
teenage years, as I volunteered at the Department of Veterans Affairs, assisting disable vets. By the
time of adulthood, my love for people and quest to help had become my profession. While attending

I as well learned that forming trusting relationships with people was imperative for future success. I
recall working in the hospital and being known for my humble spirt an active listening skills. I
discovered that active listening help one to receive the message, understand and evaluate the
information being communicated. In fact, when I interned at the Meridian Bridge House Alcohol and
Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, I learned through active listening and evaluation that trauma
correlates strongly with ones inability to stabilize. People suffering from alcohol and substance abuse
addiction had most likely experienced some form of trauma, which resulted in their alcohol and drug
dependency. There stories alone increased my desire to want to help and bring about change in the
lives of so many. No matter our differences I believed in setting aside my personal beliefs and biases
to help improve the lives of others. I recall an incident where I encountered a client who religion
differed from mines. Although, I wanted to touch more on the topic I knew that my morals and values
were not to be imposed. My primary focus was to help my client realize their potential and help them
reach their goals,
I have acquired many skills that are transferable to the field of social work. In fact, from my

Shakespeare was born 1564 in England and was married at a young age. Think he went to school and

wrote 37 plays, 158 sonnets and died april 23, 1616 at age 52. His average vocabulary was 4,000
words and he was the oriben dictionary. He is second most quoted writer in English language. (In class

to Romeo and Juliet book is desire to escape. This theme emerges person vs. self and it is Romeo vs.
himself. It happens at the beginning of the story when Romeo wanted to run away because Rosaline
told him she didn t love him. Out of her favor, where I am in love , (Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
20, 1.1 161). This also happens again but this time is Person vs. person and it is Tybalt vs. his uncle
Capulet. I will withdraw, but this intrusion shall now seeming sweet, convert to bitterest gall,

Green Computing And The Improvement Of Computing
the term green computing refers to the improvement of computing practices in a way that is
environmentally friendly. green computing started in1992 with the introduction of the Energy Star
program. This program awarded computer products that used a minimum energy and still operate at
maximizing efficiency.
Green computing Practices such as how you use, dispose and manufacture computers and computer
technologies are only becoming more relevant. As big companies are looking to keep their energy
usage and costs as low as possible investing and creating new technologies in green computing can
help make computers run more energy efficiently which in turn reduces environmental impact and
creates lower energy costs.

One way is to use a cache to place critical memory access it quickly and easily. As technology evolves
processors have improved and become even faster. The latency is greatly decreased but no matter how
fast a given processor can function, it is still limited to the rate of transfer allowed by the bottleneck.
In most cases, a faster processor only means that it will spend more time idling and will not be fully
utilised.
In a compiled implementation, the original program is translated or compiled into native machine
instructions. These instructions are then executed by the hardware directly.
In an interpreted implementation, the original program is translated into bytecode. Which is a set of
instruction designed specifically for an interpreter program. This program then examines the bytecode
and executes the instructions that are called.
In Java implementation, there are two phases both a compilation and interpretation stage. These are
the compilation stage and the interpretation stage.
In the Compilation stage, a just in time compiler (a JIT) compiles the Java source code and transforms
it into bytecode.
In the Interpretation stage the Java interpreter also known as the Java virtual machine (JVM) converts
the bytecode binary code that is readable by the processor. The binary code is executed and the output
is displayed.

Christianity, By Clive Staples Lewis
In Mere Christianity, Clive Staples Lewis, known as C.S Lewis known best for his writing, and being
a Christian apologist, divides the novel into 4 different section. Each book emphasizes the struggles he
has faced and overcome as well as personal life lessons he has learned. The first section, Right and
Wrong as a Clue to the Meaning of the Universe focus on moral law and the law of nature. Christians
Believe, second section, corresponds with his life because Lewis has had many interviews defending
his faith and studied the Bible thoroughly. In the third book, Christian Behaviour. It talks about all of
the different types of morals and behaviors Christians are called to follow because Lewis has studied
into Jesus s teaching he has a deeper understanding of what Jesus has called his followers to be.
Lastly, Beyond Personality: or First steps in the Doctrine of the Trinity, is about the first steps and the
process of becoming a Christian. Lewis went from an atheist to a highly Christian figure in the church
and believer society resulting into a lot of personal knowledge of the topics in his novel. C.S. Lewis s
life influences his writing in Mere Christianity through his ability to portray the foundation of
Christianity from the growth made from both his believer and non believer life, using the amount of
studies and research done defending the views of atheists and Christians, his studies in people and
Christian behavior, and finally how his intimate growth as a godly person

A Report On Vehicle Communication Network
1. Introduction
Since the market demands get varied and segmented, automotive manufacturers have been focus on
improving users driving experience for a long period while developing advanced electronic based
technologies, with respect to requirements such as convenience, safety, fuel efficiency and etc.
However, with more functions achieved, a large quantity of wires individually connected to different
electronical control units needs to be conducted in order to transfer signals from sensors, thus making
the entire vehicle system significantly complex, heavy, costly and less reliable. This issue was
foreseen by engineers and could not be solved properly until the introduction of vehicle
communication network in which electronic control units interchanges information alone the bus with
much less wirings required.t Within the following sections, in order to ensure accuracy for final
investigation result, a Toyota Prius 2012 model are researched in terms of how information required is
processed by each control unit after being detected by those sensors related. Based upon investigation
mentioned, discussion on benefits of using in vehicle network will be further taken with respect to
weight and cost savings.

The Future of Management
Abstract
Management development strategies of many organizations seemed to converge in the nineties. We
thought the world would stay on a standstill when the millennium loomed. The new word on the street
was Y2K. So what are the concerns for the current state of management development, and what we
expect for the future to hold? This paper will tackle such issue.
The Future of Management
Companies are geared into increase in efficiency and productivity, better choice of goods, more
competitive prices, faster execution and better resource allocation. What was true then, will still hold
true in the future, except it just may double up. Obviously, ideas like these contributed to the call for
far better business management. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If they can find a product on line and save them the trek to the store, they will choose the Internet.
Customers are no longer afraid of the World Wide Web. They are actually what you call Internet
savvy. Companies, management and leaders need to realize that if they want to stay competitive in
today s hard business, they need to enhance their business knowledge of Information Technology.
More and more technological innovations are sprouting. If a company stays within its boundary of
relic technology, it will not survive. The same goes for the managements and leaders of any
organization. The need to shed the old ways of management is a must. For companies to keep
employees, the need to embrace effective leadership and good management style. The organizational
culture needs to be value driven, empowering employees to have the entrepreneurial spirit. Line
managers, top managers and executives need to be able to manage change in a continuous learning
environment while creating and maintaining the appropriate working culture.

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Captivity
Captive animals are abused and exploited in a variety of settings, including research and product

break their pace or gaze. This is what we so often see in zoos the apparent detachment from their

strongly. Also, Zoos, contrary to what many people believe, often cause great suffering and stress to
the captive animals. Animals in zoos are caged for life and deprived of the opportunity to develop and

Significance of Hajj to the Life Muslim Adherents
Analyse the significance of Hajj to the life Muslim adherents (15 marks)
The Hajj is one of the 5 pillars of Islam and ultimately reflects many core Muslim beliefs. Through
spiritual rebirth, the wearing of the Ihram garments, the acknowledgement of Allah s omnipotency and
the experience of following in Prophet Muhammad s footsteps, adherents through the Hajj are able to
reflect the Islamic beliefs of Jihad, Umma, Zakat, and forgiveness in their own lives. By this Muslims
are able to become more intimate with Allah and his will, and are also destined to an afterlife in
heaven by his side. Accordingly, those who do not complete the Hajj in their lifetime will be sentenced
to an afterlife in purgatory. These consequences reflect how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These are very significant principles within Islam. Secondly, the use of the Ihram garments during the
Hajj also reflects core Islamic beliefs, particularly Umma. The white garments are worn by everyone
during the Hajj, resulting in it being impossible to differentiate a wealthy man from a poorer one, or a
sinful man from a cleaner one. This equality is synonymous with the idea of Umma, the unity of the
Islamic community as one religious body with similar views. Through the Hajj adherents learn to live
together and co operate in the name of Allah by also giving up certain mutual activities such as sex.
This unification and sacrifice further allows the adherent to become closer with Allah and also reflects
the Muslim way to live with one another especially during times like Ramadan, where certain actions
are haram. Furthermore, the following of Muhammad s steps as an integral part of the Hajj acts as a
guide for adherents to base their future lives upon. The Hajj traces around the Saudi Arabia region,
highlighting key components of the Prophet s life. This life is one that evidently reflects all core
Islamic values and teachings, and serves as the materialism of Allah s will on Earth. Prayer, such as
rak ah, Zakat, seen in the shaving of the head, and Jihad, present in the physical struggle required, are
all key values reflected in Muhammad s life, while Umma, given through the unity of the

In 1644 john Milton was attempting to preserve the books which were being destroyed through
censorship. He even said, He who destroys a good book, kills reason itself I agree with him.
The Government was pretty much censoring whatever they wanted and even arresting people who
didn t follow it exactly. And the Government was even invading people s privacy to check their books
and burning the books that weren t censored. John Milton, a writer himself, decided to take a stand on
what he believed was right and wrote an essay on his beliefs, along with proofs to back himself up.
Milton was definitely against Censorship. I think he wanted to preserve the books and the ideas of the
people who wrote them. I also believe he wanted to see the book the way the person who wrote it
wished it to be seen. People s names were even being censored out of the books.

teacher and failure is not an option. John F. Podojil. In my opinion, this quotation is very true. If you
do not have the passion to teach your students what is right in the world and what makes them be the
best they can be, then you are not really teaching your students or you have failed and failure is not an
option. I want to not only teach my students important subject manner but be an inspiration to my
students as well. I want to be the teacher that students will come back to in ten or fifteen years and say,

When I first thought about this I thought, Oh my God, I m going to be a role model for most of the
male students in my class! It s kind of overwhelming when you think about it. But then I thought, I m
a great guy and a good hearted individual; I have nothing to worry about except for maybe the first
day! My teaching style will be an eclectic blend of all the teaching philosophies, I think my main
teaching philosophy will mostly be a mix of essentialism and existentialism. As a K 8 teacher I feel
that you should teach the traditional subjects to students this helps to develop their character, which
will affect them for the rest of their lives in society. I also believe that students should be able to
express themselves in some way throughout the school year by the means of playing games to help
them learn to do things and being able to have at least once during the school year a talent day in
which the students show their many talents. I might also have the students keep a journal throughout
the school year so that they can express their own personal thoughts and feelings for the day on paper.
This sometimes helps with students who have emotional problems or problems with other students in
the class get their thoughts out so that there may not be as many fights as there could be. I will use
direct and indirect methods of learning to teach my

The United States And The World Empire Between 1890 And 1945
Throughout the development of one of the greatest countries in the world, the he United States had
created a world empire between 1890 and 1945. In such a short amount of time, the country as a
whole as able to produce a homogenization of life where the measurement of national and
international power and the level of control of economic, military, political, media, institutions,
education, sport, music, etc. came together to form a new kind of American cutlure. However, during
this time, it was all about the projection of the American self and demonstrating characteristics and
qualities that distinguished the U.S. (us) and the foreign outsider (them).

Last but not least, it promoted a sense of national unity among the American people.
During this time, America also saw an extremely productive economy and what was able to come out
of working together as one instead of multiple little groups. Americans had been focusing on literacy
and technical skills that were required in the workplace. Money was being funded into education and
the growing premium. High school, college, and advanced degrees became not only credentials for
employment but also markers of social status. Americans began rethinking gender roles, which would
in time open the way for significant numbers of women to move into higher education and the
workforce (Hunt, 83) . With education being pushed and job opportunities on the rise, the United
States was headed in definitely headed in the right direction in terms of employing their people and
allowing money to be put back into their thriving economy.
As the United States started to build their own empire, the war fighting and peacemaking that marked
the McKinley Wilson years sparked a dramatic growth in the power of the American state. The years
after the war brought the economy out of recession and pushed the GDP in 1918 to twice the figure at

Why Is Tim Tebow Controversial
Tim Tebow is a Minor League Baseball player. He had switched from the National Football League to
play baseball for the Minor League team of the New York Mets. He had switched sports because the
Patriots wanted him to change his position from quarterback. He told them that he couldn t picture
himself as anything other than quarterback before he made the switch. When Tim Tebow switched
there was a big controversy on why he switched. Many football fans believed that he had only
switched because he had enough money to and because he was famous enough to do so. One of his

Mary Kay Case Study
Global Marketing Case
Question 1: Is Mary Kay an international firm , a multinational firm , or a transnational firm as
defined in this course and based on its marketing strategy? Why? Mary Kay, Inc. was founded in 1963
by Mary Kay Ash as Beauty by Mary Kay. Mary Kay is a direct sale type of company, with
independent beauty consultants that sell and market Mary Kay products (2012 Corporate Fact Sheet).
Mary Kay Ash operated with the mindset of God First, Family Second, and Career Third, and always
adhered to the golden rule, do to others as you d want them to do to you (Kerin, Et. Al). Mary Kay,
Inc. first entered the global market in 1971 with its expansion into Australia. Today, Mary Kay is
represented in over 35 global markets (2012 Corporate Fact Sheet). Mary Kay is challenged to ensure
brand consistency across the world, despite differences in cultures from market to market. As such,
Mary Kay would be considered a transnational firm. They tie the similarities between each market
together while celebrating the differences in each market. This strategy allows them to offer Mary Kay

Human Behaviour in the Social Environment
Introduction The article s main social concern is to examine prevention and intervention methods and
their subsequent impact on family poverty and children s mental, emotional and behavioral health. As
a conceptual framework, Yoshikawa, Aber and Beardslee (2012), tackle four aspects of poverty, the
family and child as the main subjects or selection factors, the multidimensional nature of poverty, the
mechanisms through which poverty effects children on an individual, relational and institutional level,
and the multidimensionality of children s outcomes. The authors used two types of interventions. The
first set of interventions were advanced by experts in child and family development, targeting the

Therefore, our analysis will focus on the child, as the person in environment, and the various systems
around him/her. The microsystem, which contains the child s most immediate environment (Greene,
1999), includes the family, school, peers and youth programs; each functioning simultaneously as an
independent whole, and as a part of a larger system (Zaastrow Kirst Ashmas, 2009). Mesosystem,
consists of processes occurring between the child s distinctive microsystems (Greene, 1999).
Exosystem involves processes occurring between two or more systems, one of which is not directly
linked to the developing person (Greene, 1999). Yoshikawa, Aber and Beardslee (2012), explain how
poverty is a family affair; the parents resources directly determine children s access to resources and
their social standing. As mentioned in Yoshikawa et.,al (2012), lack of proper resources limits the
family s ability to purchase goods, schooling, food, and housing, and provide a safe environment for
necessary development. The linkage between family and school is an example of a mesosystem.
Moreover unstable work, an exosystem component, leads to depressed parental mood and marital
conflict, the consequences of which are higher levels of behavioral problems in children, parenting
stress and a lack of effective caregiving (Yoshikawa et., al, 2012). A further illustration of an
exosystem: lack of parental employment contributes to poverty and results in a negative

FISA Pros And Cons
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was first enacted in 1978, and later amended,
including in 1994, by the Patriot Act, and by 2008 it became the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
Amendments. In 1972, the Supreme Court chose the case of United States v. United States District
Court, otherwise called the Keith case, in which the Court considered the legality of an Attorney
General approved warrantless electronic surveillance of a United States citizen blamed for bombing a
Central Intelligence Agency building. The Court rejected the government s appeal to acknowledge a
foreign intelligence special case to the per se warrant prerequisite, holding that the Fourth Amendment
prohibited warrantless surveillance directed at domestic threats to United States national security. The
Court directly refused to choose the legality of warrantless surveillances where foreign powers or their
agents were included, leaving open the issue of the Executive s power to direct such operational
activities at those persons or elements. The Court likewise firmly asked the Congress to supply a
judicially manageable standard appropriate to surveillances conducted for national security purposes.

The analysis of Nike in athletic footwear market based on porter s Five forces model by Duke

Given the demands of today s competitive and dynamic environment, it is quite challenging to

organizational success. Introduction in today s dynamic and competitive business environment,
survival, growth and profitability are the essence goals of all industries. Nowadays, Porter s Five

Successful use of the Porter Model Analysis includes identifying the sources of competition, the
strength and likelihood of that competition existing, and strategic recommendations for the action a
company should take to develop barriers to the various forms of competition (Prahalad and Gary,
1990). With the realization about intensity and power of competitive forces, organizations can develop
options to influence them in a way that improves their own competitive position. The result could be a
new strategic option, e.g. a new positioning; differentiation for competitive products of strategic
partnerships.
Porter s Five Forces can be applied to particular companies, market segments and industries with the
step by step analysis of market structure and competitive situation. First of all, when implementing
this module in organizations, it is necessary to determine the scope of the market to be analyzed.
Following, all relevant forces for this market analyzed and key forces are identified (Gerry and Kevan,
P.117). Actually some organizational strategy and the longer term goals are mainly based on or
consistent with the key forces. Hence, it is not necessary to analyze all elements of all competitive
forces with the same depth. Moreover, the key forces in the competitive environment will vary in
different industry. Different forces take on prominence in shaping competition in each industry

Critical Discourse Analysis ( Cda )
Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is an interdisciplinary approach, which has been further developed
on the basis of Discourse Analysis (DA) since 1970s. The insights have been expanded into a broader
range of social, cultural, psychological and political practices. It is regarded as the textual study
aiming to elucidate the abuses of power residing in the texts by analyzing linguistic/semiotic remarks

sociocultural/socio semiotic approach proposed by Fairclough (1985; 1988; 1989; 1992; 1995; 2003;

The Pros And Cons Of Cartoon Network
Something is happening here, and I m getting a little worried. But first, I m going to jump ahead a bit
and talk in general terms about how it is entirely feasible for us to do everything humanly possible to
cultivate people s minds and refine their judgment. Then, I ll back up and fill in some of the details.
Okay, so to start with the general stuff, Cartoon Network can pervert any established ideology. It is for
this reason that I find it hilarious that it would have the audacity to even pretend that it s a wonderful,
charitable organization. As we all know, the truth is that if Cartoon Network doesn t realize that it s
generally considered bad style to pilfer the national treasure, then it should read one of the many self

Cartoon Network will grasp the concept that we are in trouble when hitherto reputable people recover

all exhibit special qualities and peculiarities. Unfortunately, Cartoon Network s special quality is that
it swears that it acts in the name of equality and social justice. Despite the emphasis that it places on
that asseveration, we all know that it s a willful, malicious, and deliberate lie that serves only to prove
that Jacobinism is a kind of prison. It is also, paradoxically, a haven. It is at once confining and
empowering. And in the absence of

Grip Strength Experiment
This experiment was conducted to see if icing certain muscles in the arm affects grip strength. An
electromyogram and dynamometer was used to test this theory. An electromyogram (EMG) is used to
record muscles contraction, and a dynamometer is used to test grip strength. The superficial muscles
in the forearm that contract when something is being gripped are flexor carpi radialis, brachioradialis,
flexor carpi ulnaris, and flexor digitorum superficialis muscles. When muscles are fatigued, often
times after sports practice or a game, ice is usually the go to. Some athletes take ice baths to relax their

forearm and makes the grip weaker as the muscles are cold.

Times were very hard for Native Americans during the mid to late 1800s. The reasons for their

Power s Influence On The Visual Arts Of Germany

after connection of the oxyhydrogen kit is tabulated in table 3.
1) Carbon monoxide

due to the incomplete combustion of fuel, when enough oxygen is not available, two carbon molecules
combines with a single oxygen molecule and carbon monoxide is thus formed. It is colourless,
odourless, and tasteless gas that is slightly less dense than air. It is toxic to humans and animals when

The Importance Of Checking Bets In Poker
Encountering tough decisions in poker is almost unavoidable, much like in real life, but thankfully, in
poker, a solemn trick helps you overcome some of them, if not all. Not only can you set a price for
yourself to see some other card with the help of a blocking bet in poker, but also overcome the odds of
a big bet from your opponent s end when playing by the river.
Blocking a bet in poker is the best option when your position in the hand is ambiguous. For instance,
consider that you are holding a pair of J and 9 2 2 is the flop that comes your way. You make the call
immediately after betting the call. Your opponent will be pressurized as soon as you make a blocking
bet, considering the fact that must be significantly smaller than the one by which the flop has been
raised (You must also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can easily fool your opponent by calling a rather small blocking bet when a suit s third or a
straight s forth (referred to as a scare card) appears on the turn or by the river. A blocking bet in poker
can come in handy when there s a chance of falling prey to a large bluff. You could always face a bet
big enough if you check, when your pot is driven by two pairs along with a scare card, which happens
to come by the river. The notion of bluffing you would not cross the minds of your opponents if you
manage to call a good enough blocking bet but you could face the heat at this point of the play
provided that you aren t raised in any way.
Making a smaller blocking bet in comparison to the ones made beforehand is a strict nono. It might so
happen that in an attempt scrape through cheaply, your opponent might sniff your intentions and play
possum till he fools you with a huge bluffing bet. Blocking bets seldom backfire, provided that they
aren t too small for the opponent to overlook. Otherwise these bets serve the purpose of retarding the
pace of the game at your opponents end.

Treatment During Childhood Case Study
3. Treatment during childhood
In children, hydrocortisone (8 mg/m2/d) is recommended as starting dose in 3 4 divided doses and
synthetic, long acting glucocorticoids are avoided.
Monitoring by clinical assessment like growth velocity, weight, BP etc.
In PAI with hypoaldosteronism, fludrocortisone should be started with 100mcg/day. In infants and
newborns sodium chloride supplementation is recommended.
C. Treatment of acute adrenal crisis5
Initial resuscitation and fluid correction by normal saline is mandatory. Sodium correction to be done
gradually.
100mg hydrocortisone IV to be started followed by 200mg/24 hours by 6 hourly injection/continuous

Replacement of thyroid hormone without cortisol can precipitate acute adrenal insufficiency.
Patients with hypopituitarism with partial/total ACTH deficiency and on suboptimal cortisol therapy
may develop symptoms of cortisol deficiency upon initiation of growth hormone therapy due to
inhibition of 11 beta hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1.6 9
Once Daily Long Acting Hydrocortisone Therapy
Current replacement strategies require modification due to evidence of impaired health and increased
mortality as result of inappropriate glucocorticoid therapy. Mah et al (2004)10 concluded that a thrice
daily regimen is preferable, but immediate release hydrocortisone with short half life (tœ) cannot
properly replicate physiological cortisol release, so delayed release hydrocortisone are being explored.
Prednisolone and dexamethasone have longer tœ but cause high night time glucocorticoid activity
resulting in detrimental effects on insulin sensitivity and bone mineral density.11 Therefore, there was
an immense need for more physiological long acting preparations:
a) Modified release hydrocortisone (Dual release DR HC) are being investigated in few trials.12
b) Plenadren is a modified release preparation of hydrocortisone licensed recently. It has extended
release core covered by immediate release coating, administered once daily and replicated normal
cortisol rhythm. It showed

The Role Of Women In Mrs. Dalloway, By Virginia Woolf
Throughout Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf uses the characters Clarissa and Lucrezia not only to
further the plot of the story but to make a profound statement about the role of wives in both society
and their marriages. While these women are subjected to differing experiences in their marriages,
there is one common thread that unites each of their marriages: oppression. These women drive the
story of Mrs. Dalloway and provide meaning and reason in the lives of the men in the story; however,
these women are slowly but surely forced to forsake their own ambitions in order to act in accordance
with the social standards set in place by marriage for women. For women outside of many modern
cultures, marriage has been a necessity for a woman s safety and security, and it required her to give
up her freedom and passions and subjected her to an oppressed lifestyle. Ultimately, through the wives
in Mrs. Dalloway, Woolf communicates that marriage is an institution where in women are forced to
suppress their individual desires and passions in order to serve their husband and further his own
ambitions as first priority. From the beginning of Mrs. Dalloway, Woolf establishes that Clarissa s
bright and hopeful spirit has become dulled and burdened when subjected to the oppressive nature of
marriage. During a glimpse into her younger years, the reader is able to see Clarissa. With each
flashback into Clarissa s youth, the reader is provided another image of Clarissa before marriage, one
that highlights her passion and curiosity for life. While Clarissa felt a passion and connection with
Peter, she could not bear to live in a marriage where her freedom was something she had to sacrifice.
The decision she makes is logical in some ways, but her choice also brings into question the fault of
her marriage in the first place. In Clarissa s world, the option for passion and the security of her
freedom was not available nor would it ever be; therefore, she was forced to choose between the two.
Men, however, were not forced to make such decisions and were given the liberty to wait well into
their later years to find a spouse suitable to their liking. By choosing to marry Richard over Peter,
Clarissa forsook the option of passion in

Symptoms And Treatment Of Cancer Patients 1.Introduction: The numbers of people who are dying due to crucial diseases such as cancer have increased, according to world health organization (WHO) cited in Jane et al (2008), in 2005, 7.6 million people died from cancer, a figure expected to increase to 9 million people by 2015 , and increasing further to 11.4 million dying in 2030. Therefore, scientists have attempted to find appropriate solution for those problems. Since the nineteenth century, solutions have been introduced by scientists, that use radiation for the diagnosis of diseases instead of surgery (Pope, 1999), which has led to great advances in medicine because diagnostic technology such as CT and X rays scanning, nuclear medicine (PET) and mammography, ... • 7. The Impact Of Stuxnet Worm On The World s Nuclear Facilities Another occurrence of cyberwarfare and its power lies within the Stuxnet worm, unleashed primarily to attack Iranian industrial programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in the nation s Nuclear facilities. The Stuxnet worm is typically introduced to its target environment via an infected USB flash drive, and upon being loaded onto a computer running the Microsoft Windows operating system the worm would then seek out Siemens Step7 software. This software will then allow for Stuxnet to control Iranian PLCs, collecting information on industrial systems and causing the fast spinning centrifuges to tear themselves apart. Stuxnet s complexity is evident in its three prong approach to infection: It unloads a worm that executes all routines related to the main attack, it executes a link file that automatically activates other copies of the worm on the same network, and it activates its rootkit, which allows it to hide its processes and activity on the local computer as well as the entire computer network. Kaspersky Lab, an international software security group operating in almost 200 countries and territories worldwide, concluded that the attack is a one of a kind, sophisticated malware attack backed by a well funded, highly skilled attack team and that the attack could only be conducted with nation state support and backing . Increasing money impacts Asian economy on capital flows and on either exchange rates or housing prices significantly. The result of this section is quiet interesting. The QE of US brought huge capital inflows into Asian economies. There are two ways that it can influence: 1) a large amount money flows into the emerging markets to buy their currencies which investors expected they would increase values relative to USD; then, the expectation caused the appreciation of currencies. 2) however, if the central banks of some certain economies try to stabilize their exchange rates not to appreciate, the effect of QE would show in the housing markets, the most important household assets in most Asian countries. In real terms, Cho and Rhee (2014) indicates in the figure 5 that the housing prices nearly double in Hong Kong and India since the fourth quarter in 2008 to 2012. Also, in Taiwan, the housing prices rose by almost 60%. In Malaysia, it increased by around 30%. Economies with stable or rigid exchanges suffer from large increasing in the housing prices. He even said, He who destroys a good book, kills reason itself I agree with him. The Government was pretty much censoring whatever they wanted and even arresting people who didn t follow it exactly. And the Government was even invading people s privacy to check their books and burning the books that weren t censored. John Milton, a writer himself, decided to take a stand on what he believed was right and wrote an essay on his beliefs, along with proofs to back himself up. Milton was definitely against Censorship. I think he wanted to preserve the books and the ideas of the people who wrote them. I also believe he wanted to see the book the way the person who wrote it wished it to be seen. People s names were even being censored out of the books. ...books are not absolutely dead things, but do contain a potency of life in them to be as active as that soul was whose progeny they are; nay, they do preserve as in a vial the purest efficacy and extraction of that living intellect that bred them. As a K 8 teacher I feel that you should teach the traditional subjects to students this helps to develop their character, which will affect them for the rest of their lives in society. I also believe that students should be able to express themselves in some way throughout the school year by the means of playing games to help them learn to do things and being able to have at least once during the school year a talent day in which the students show their many talents. I might also have the students keep a journal throughout the school year so that they can express their own personal thoughts and feelings for the day on paper. The microsystem, which contains the child s most immediate environment (Greene, 1999), includes the family, school, peers and youth programs; each functioning simultaneously as an independent whole, and as a part of a larger system (Zaastrow Kirst Ashmas, 2009). Mesosystem, consists of processes occurring between the child s distinctive microsystems (Greene, 1999). Exosystem involves processes occurring between two or more systems, one of which is not directly linked to the developing person (Greene, 1999). Yoshikawa, Aber and Beardslee (2012), explain how poverty is a family affair; the parents resources directly determine children s access to resources and their social standing. As mentioned in Yoshikawa et.,al (2012), lack of proper resources limits the family s ability to purchase goods, schooling, food, and housing, and provide a safe environment for necessary development. The linkage between family and school is an example of a mesosystem. The insights have been expanded into a broader range of social, cultural, psychological and political practices. It is regarded as the textual study aiming to elucidate the abuses of power residing in the texts by analyzing linguistic/semiotic remarks in accordance with the existing (social, political, cultural, etc.) contexts in which those texts circulate (Wodak: 2001, 1 2; Fairclough: 1995; Huckin, Andrus, and Clary Lemon: 2012, 107; Rashidi and Souzandehfar: 2010, 56; Economou: 2009, 42). Blocking a bet in poker is the best option when your position in the hand is ambiguous. For instance, consider that you are holding a pair of J and 9 2 2 is the flop that comes your way. You make the call immediately after betting the call. • 45. The Role Of Women In Mrs. Dalloway, By Virginia Woolf Throughout Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf uses the characters Clarissa and Lucrezia not only to further the plot of the story but to make a profound statement about the role of wives in both society and their marriages. While these women are subjected to differing experiences in their marriages, there is one common thread that unites each of their marriages: oppression. These women drive the story of Mrs. Dalloway and provide meaning and reason in the lives of the men in the story; however, these women are slowly but surely forced to forsake their own ambitions in order to act in accordance with the social standards set in place by marriage for women. For women outside of many modern cultures, marriage has been a necessity for a woman s safety and security, and it required her to give up her freedom and passions and subjected her to an oppressed lifestyle. Ultimately, through the wives in Mrs. Dalloway, Woolf communicates that marriage is an institution where in women are forced to suppress their individual desires and passions in order to serve their husband and further his own ambitions as first priority. From the beginning of Mrs. Dalloway, Woolf establishes that Clarissa s bright and hopeful spirit has become dulled and burdened when subjected to the oppressive nature of marriage. During a glimpse into her younger years, the reader is able to see Clarissa. With each flashback into Clarissa s youth, the reader is provided another image of Clarissa before marriage, one that highlights her passion and curiosity for life. While Clarissa felt a passion and connection with Peter, she could not bear to live in a marriage where her freedom was something she had to sacrifice. The decision she makes is logical in some ways, but her choice also brings into question the fault of her marriage in the first place. In Clarissa s world, the option for passion and the security of her freedom was not available nor would it ever be; therefore, she was forced to choose between the two. Men, however, were not forced to make such decisions and were given the liberty to wait well into their later years to find a spouse suitable to their liking. By choosing to marry Richard over Peter, Clarissa forsook the option of passion in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
