John Willis, Director of Ecosystem Development at Docker, Inc., gave a presentation on the state of DevOps. He discussed common DevOps frameworks like CAMS (Culture, Automation, Measurement, Sharing) and ICE (Inclusion, Complexity, Empathy). Survey results showed high performing organizations have high trust, cross-functional collaboration, and shared responsibilities. Willis also covered DevOps in the enterprise, with working groups on security compliance and test automation. He advocated for concepts from lean manufacturing like kaizen, jidoka, and genchi genbutsu to drive continuous improvement.
