`` Moral Machines `` By Robert J. Sawyer And Gary Marcus
Myths are a good representation of how technology works in a society. This is due to their valuable
lessons which relate the impact of technological history on society over a period of time. Two authors
by the names of Robert J. Sawyer and Gary Marcus elaborate the connection between science fiction
and ethics to technology which compares to Prometheus s myth. Sawyer explains the relationship in
her essay The Purpose of Science Fiction in which he justifies that science fiction can portray the
outcomes of future technology. Marcus justifies this connection in his essay Moral Machines when he
describes how automated machinery should include ethical moralities in reference to how they are
being used in real life scenarios. Sawyer and Marcus reveal the relationship of science fiction and
ethics to technology which relates to the themes of Prometheus through science fiction and ethical
motives. Prometheus was well known for giving the human race the gift of fire. He delivered fire to
the world by stealing it from Zeus due to a conflict between the two. Prometheus was punished for his
wrongdoing in which Zeus chained Prometheus to a boulder so an eagle would come to eat his liver
every day. Prometheus s actions can represent a theme of progress in which he helps humans proceed
around nature s boundaries. Humans encounter obstacles in their lives to achieve a better life and live
comfortably, but the fire is the stepping stone to human success. Prometheus s gift to the world

Biological Psychology When most hear the words biological/psychology, many tend to have trouble
rapping their mind around it. Psychology is the study of behavior, so how does biology fit into this
equation? Well we have to assume that our brain has influence or somehow effects are behavior. In
order to prove or disprove this theory, we have to research the biology and psychology of both the
brain and our behavior. So how do we do this, well first we have to understand the brain and how it
functions, as humans we have roughly 100 billion nerve cells in the brain. This is an overwhelming
amount to keep track of at one time but ever so important to researchers. Nerve ... Show more content

The same with alcohol and drug addiction is it biological or an implication of a weak character? These
are just a few of the question s psychological biology theories hope to answer one day through
reasearch. It is important to understand how the behavior and brain are connected. There are many
alcoholics and homosexuals who would be eternally grateful to know for a fact that there disease is
biologically based and it is not something they them selves have done wrong. So where do we go in
the way of biopsychology? In each disorder the tramition of the neurons is disrupted, meaning that if

Thermodynamics and Ideal Gas
First Law Exercise:
Problem 1: A volume 10 m3 contains 8 kg of oxygen at a temperature of 300 K. Find the work
necessary to decrease the volume to 5 m3, (a) at a constant pressure and (b) at constant temperature.
(c) What is the temperature at the end of the process in (a)? (d) What is the pressure at the end of
process in (b)? (e) Show both processes in the p V plane. Problem 2: The temperature of an ideal gas
at an initial pressure p1 and volume V1 is increased at constant volume until the pressure is doubled.
The gas is then expanded isothermally until the pressure drops to its original value, where it is

First Law Additional Exercises:
Problem 13: A system executes a quasi static process from an initial state 1 to a final state 2, absorbing
80 kJ of heat and expanding from 2.0 m3 to 2.25 m3 against a constant pressure of 1.5 bar. The system
is brought back to its initial state by a non quasi static process, during which it rejects 100 kJ of heat.
What is the work done during the second process? Problem 14: Three kg of air in a rigid container
changes its state from 5.0 bar and 75oC to 12 bar while it is stirred. The heat absorbed is 195 kJ.
Assume air to be an ideal gas with cv = 0.714 kJ/kg K. Determine the final temperature, change in
thermal energy and work done. Problem 15: Two kg of air at 2.5 bar and 30oC forms a closed system.
It undergoes a constant pressure process with heat addition of 450 kJ. Compute final temperature,
change in enthalpy, change in thermal energy, and work done. Assume air to be an ideal gas, with a

Sallie House In The Exorcist And The Amityville Horror
Due to the level of unexplained defiances, the majority of the neighbors on 2nd Street in Atchison,
Kansas have concluded that the possible reasons for the quick evacuations in one otherwise quaint
home is that the plumbing is bad, the electric bills are really high or that it is so haunted that nobody
can get a moment of peace so that they can figure out what is really going on so they just give up and
leave. The events in the home are a justifiable mystery and professional ghost hunters along with
psychic investigators claim that the events that took place in the Exorcist and the Amityville Horror
cannot even begin to hold a candle to the random paranormal occurrences that possess the Sallie
House on a daily basis. The Sallie House has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Extracurricular Activities And Academic Success
Surveys show that around eighty percent of students participate in extracurricular activities.
Participating in an extracurricular activity involves balance between the activity and academics while
gaining positive impacts. Many people do not see or understand the importance of extracurricular
activities. Critics might argue that extracurricular activities may harm student academic success, but
what they do not realize is the benefits from extracurricular activities. The following argument started
when the question was raised of how students were spending their leisure time and what they gained
from their involvement. After school hours are the peak time for bad behaviors and crime for students.
However, extracurricular activities provide a shelter for students for fun activities. Extracurricular
activities contribute positively to student academic success by teaching responsibility, time
management, and team building skills. Responsibility is a substantial skill developed from
extracurricular activities that impact academic success. Responsibility promotes students to be held
accountable for their actions.
For example, students learn that they cannot always count on their parents. Students learn there will be
times when they have to do things on their own and figure out life by themselves. Parents are not
always going to be there by your side. Thankfully, extracurricular activities allow students to use
responsible skills in and outside of school. Responsibility gives

Man is curious by his nature and space travel is utter most curiosity for mankind. Few in million
people got chance to sort their curiosity but what about rest millions?? When a common man would be
able to fulfill his dream destination?? Millions of questions pertain in mind but there was no answer
for this couple of years ago. However, the distant dream of exploring space by common man turned
into reality by the introduction of space industry. People would like to experience space travel for
various reasons. This paper aim to give brief idea about space tourism ... Show more content on

Over the course of human history there has always been a strong drive to explore and travel to new
and exciting places. Space exploration has captured the imagination of the general public for the last
30 years; it is only natural that people are now beginning to ask if and when they too might venture
into space. Space and tourism have both developed at an equally rapid pace, and the potential of both
together is definitely going to grow further. Although human spaceflight is currently the privilege of a
few space exploring nations, recent advances in space technology and entrepreneurship are about to
change the status quo. China, with the assistance of Russian technology, was able to place an astronaut
in space in 2003 in a fraction of the time that it took other space powers, such as the USA and USSR,
to do this. The first credible private space tourist venture is already a reality. The first space tourist,
Denis Tito, flew in 2001 in a government vehicle, although his flight was privately funded, whilst in
2004 the first spaceship became a reality.
Thus,
Space tourism: providing services for humans to access and experience space for adventure and

(also space traveler, space client, space passenger).

Going into this project I only knew barely anything about it. I knew Bridget Bishop and her role
though. I also knew that in the witch trials many people were killed. I chose this topic because I didn t
know much about it. Also chose this topic because it interested me. I also chose this topic because I
like to learn new things. I think this time period really shaped America and how it evolved. It really
showed people how evidence can be altered and twisted. During the trials many people were accused
but many people were not guilty. Most evidence given was spectral evidence and this is now not used
or valued highly in court. During this time many false accusations were made and then dropped just

The Birth Order Of A Child
In the order of which you are born are so important in some families. In some cultures, the most
important order to be in for a child was to be the oldest. Being the oldest, you could be first for the
throne or first as a prince or princess. Different spots of birth order create certain differences between
children belonging to this or that spot inside the family. These differences show why siblings are not
alike. The term siblings are used to identify children who are brothers and sisters coming from that
same mom and dad. The commonly known words sibling rivalry may be understood as a phenomenon
caused directly by the order in which you were born in. From the research of Alfred Adler, the birth
order of a child is the predictor of his future characteristics. Adler said that, the firstborn children are
dethroned when the next child comes along and that they may never recover from that. Adler believed
that the true reason for the differences between siblings is the desire to be different and have different
characteristics, to be individual and not compared to their other sibling, and to stand out from the
crowd of other children. Siblings ranging in age are always competing for the love of the mom and
dad. Also, the oldest and the youngest always seem to have to fight for power over one another to gain
control of the situation. I m the oldest, so I m going to be in charge! Or you hear the youngest one say,
I m going tell mom you re being bossy! You re not the boss

The Gendering Of Gender And Gender Roles In Advertising
The gendering of programming allows the industry to provide the proper audience for advertisers by
constructing shows pleasurable for the target audience to watch, and one aspect of this construction is
in the gender portrayals of characters (Craig, 188). Advertisers use many approaches to make their
product more attractive for us to purchase. One form of using different approaches is using
stereotyping by gender. This idea is focused on attraction; for example, a woman is going to be more
attracted toward the handsome looking man and associate that product with him or associate the
product with personable looks. Using this idea, advertisers intentionally put attractive men or women
in their advertisements to create a more attractive theme for their product. In most of their
commercials, Fiat, has tried to make their commercials distinctly different or interesting. Analytically
pulling apart one of Fiats commercials can show how advertisers are using different non conformist
plot ideas, the idea of a man s woman, or a perfect woman from the man s point of view, and the idea
of a shifting geek culture.
Imagine a younger, geeky man walking down the busy city street, one second minding his own
business, but the next second, he is blown away by a beautiful woman. He stops in his tracks as she
bends down to scratch her ankle. She clandestinely catches him checking her out while she is wearing
her red and black business dress. He attempts to stealthily look away,

Analysis Of The Film Nightcrawler
There are always two sides to every coin. For example, without evil, there can be no good. Is being a
good person all about the things one does or is it about the reason one does the things they do? There s
good and bad in everyone. Humanity isn t perfect, and our lives are so complex. In the film titled
Nightcrawler, Louis Bloom shows viewers first hand what it is like to be a journalist in the fast pace
city of Los Angeles. Throughout the film, Louis attempts to manipulate the other characters and uses
their weakness against them to get whatever he desires. Even though a person may be considered as a
bad person they still could possibly commit actions that a good person normally world and vice versa.
For many people, it may be easy for them to characterize Louis as a bad person, due to the choices and
decisions he makes through the movie. After watching the film several times, I am still pondering over
what exactly it means to be a bad or good person. Everyone makes mistakes; it is inevitable. But the
thing that separates a good person from a bad person is that a good person learns from those mistakes
and never repeats those same mistakes again. Making mistakes is part of what makes us human. They
not only help one learn from our experiences, but they also help shape one into the individual they
would like to become. A good person is comfortable with both their strengths and weaknesses, treat
others with respect, and are aware that their inner intentions are truly what

Comparing The ICTY And The International Criminal Tribunal...
At the end of the Cold War, a more widespread interest in post conflict reconstruction was becoming
more prevalent. The main components of this interest during the post reconciliation period were
accountability and reconciliation. To facilitate this in two different post conflict environments, two
respective tribunals were established. These tribunals were known as the ICTY (The International
Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, est.1993) and ICTR (International Criminal Tribunal for
Rwanda, est.1994) . The ICTY was formed to address the conflict in former Yugoslavia. The situation
started when two of the six republics of Yugoslavia, Slovenia and Croatia, declared their independence
after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This sparked a lengthy and lethal conflict within the territory. The
atrocities that allegedly had been committed included but were not limited to, genocide, rape, and
enslavement. Many of the victims were civilians. Because of this the ICTY was created during the war
as an international criminal court that applied humanitarian law. It s purpose was to gather
information, create an account of events, and prosecute those responsible for committing crimes .
The ICTY is considered the first international court. Since it was the first of it s kind, the court was not
without controversy. From the beginning, the method of establishing the tribunal was up for debate.
The ICTY did not have the legal authority to establish itself. Some states wanted a treaty to

An external applicant would not know of the debate and decision of deciding between the two jobs
offers. He or she would not know the social structure and the company. This would be a positive
benefit due to the fact that if Archer chooses one of the positions, either Kessel or Mangini will have
hard feelings towards Archer or the other party who she decided to take the job. Mangini made the
decision seem as a competition when he challenged Kessel to win Archer s decision. Kessel should
appeal emotionally to the benefits of the position to Archer. Kessel s position is one that is a long term
career move where she would have longevity with the company with the opportunity to move upward
within the organization. This position also gives her the leadership opportunity that she desires, as
well as nominal travel. She would be basically stationary which would be very welcome to her after
her long stint of extensive travel for RetailMax. This case study allowed for a real possible situation in
the realm of leadership. I was able to analyze the situation with enough information to form an
opinion, scenario and outcome for Archer, Mangini and Kessel. I feel this was a touchy and difficult
situation and the ultimate decision was Archer s. This exercise allowed me to see how difficult some
decisions are at the highest level of leadership.

The Warning Of Ambition In Macbeth By William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare wrote in his play Macbeth, If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown
me. In many ways throughout this play, Shakespeare was giving the warning of ambition to the
audience. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth was a simple man. Respectful and obedient to his
King, Macbeth wanted nothing but to please. When three witches came to him and his good friend,
Banquo, and told them their destinies, this began something ghastly. Mysteriously, they informed
Macbeth he was to be king. This sparks something in Macbeth that is dangerous and eventually leads
to his demise, ambition. Wickedly, Macbeth and his wife plan to murder the king during the night so
that Macbeth may be crowned sooner. The driving force of this accord

DEVELOPING A STRATEGIC PLAN FOR INCREASING EVANGELISM AND MISSION
INVOLVEMENT AT NEW BIRTH CATHEDRAL OF PRAISE IN SHERMAN, TEXAS
The Great Commission has been left to the Body of Christ by Jesus Christ. The instructions have been
given in Matt 28:19 20. The heart of this mandate is to make disciples of all nations. There are many
congregations but one church. Christ is the head of the body, the church (Col 1:18). The churches and
their congregations must share the gospel by way of evangelism. We must be obedient so that Christ
receives the glory and his Kingdom is advanced by making disciples of all nations. New Birth
Cathedral of Praise is part of his plan; however, the reality is that the church is not fulfilling the
commission to the degree that they ought or could in the power of the Holy Spirit. .
Context
This ministry project is designed to develop a strategic plan for increasing evangelism and mission
involvement among the members of New Birth Cathedral of Praise . My observation as an active
member of New Birth is that it has the right environment to make disciples. The church is welcoming,
loving and genuinely caring for one another. The word of God is preached with power, conviction and
clear application. The environment is welcoming for the lost person or the new believer.
However, the congregation of 50 people thinks that the primary responsibility for evangelism rests
upon the pastor alone.. The current practice demonstrates this belief as only the

At the start of this play Macbeth is mentioned by witches which doesn t give him credibility with the

deserves that name...Like Valour s minion. But soon after he has his meeting with the witches he is

Macbeth even has his best friend murdered, but, uncharacteristically baulks at doing the deed himself
and hires others to complete his dirty work for him, which also involves murdering a 10 year old boy,
Banquo s son. However, the news of the escape of Fleance shakes Macbeth to the core.
Later on in the play, Macbeth has Macduff s entire family murdered out of spite for Macduff, which
seems very brutal even by Macbeth s impressive standards.
One thing I did notice to be consistent throughout the play was the deterioration of both Macbeth s
and Lady Macbeth s mental condition. This all starts about the time of the murder of Duncan, when
Macbeth sees a mysterious dagger leading him towards Duncan s chamber, and becomes even more
apparent after the murder of Banquo, when Macbeth sees an apparition of Banquo, covered in blood.
This could be his conscience. Lady Macbeth also begins to hallucinate and picture her hands covered
in blood whilst she still sleeps. There is a lot of such bloody and violent imagery throughout the play.
She eventually dies, although Shakespeare omits to mention how, and we are left to speculate.
Macbeth becomes increasingly wild and unpredictable and by the end of the play all but the most
faithful to his cause, those too stupid to see its doom, and those too afraid to turn traitor against it have
abandoned Macbeth in

The Blue Planet: Seasonal Seas
Like how seasons are the changes on land, they can also be apply to oceans in temperate latitudes. The
most productive seas on the planet are the seasonal seas because they border the temperate parts of the

Pros And Cons Of Pay For Equal Pay

representatives for the women s team, and even less knowledge of what is being discussed within
these meetings. As of now all that anyone knows for sure is that the women s team current deal is
coming to an end. Dure points out that the debate at hand includes all forms of equality between the
US men s team and the US women s team; such as equality in pay, travel amenities, and field location
accessibility. However, while there are many parts to this debate Dure choses to focus on the
difference in pay. Dure emphasizes the difference in the payment systems, bonuses for championships,
and gap between two star players that play the same position. Dure makes sure to add that this debate

Explain How the Social and Economic Changes Affected Gaucho Life
Due to the huge migration to Latin America, foreigners introduced the gauchos to many changes that
would have a lasting effect. Two of the main changes felt by the gauchos included social and
economic restructuring. One must understand that history about the gauchos can potentially be biased.
This is due to the fact that only news that is interesting is reported and only bad news is interesting.
This clash of recorded history and actual history causes us to question what actually occurred during
this time period. The gauchos lifestyle suffered greatly because of these social and economic changes.
New institutions, values and beliefs all aided the transformation ... Show more content on

Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the
new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown
destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also impacted
other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change from a ranching
to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work. These fences also kept
animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill roaming horses for fun, cattle
for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set territories that kept the gaucho from
wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from wandering freely involved vagrancy laws.
The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos
now had to carry something similar to a travel permit. This again restricted their unique lifestyle.
Because the government viewed the gauchos as good fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the
military. This impacted their lives socially and economically. Gauchos social lives slowed down
enormously because of the military. They had to work continuously. Economically they benefited
because they no longer had to look for ways to support their basic needs. The government took care of
making them sustain life.

Preparing A Hurricane
Hurricanes are a yearly event, and they can create deadly destruction. If you live near the coast or in
an area prone to hurricanes, it is important to be wary of how to prepare for one of these storms to
ensure that you are protected. Preparing for a hurricane can be accomplished in these steps. To prepare
for an upcoming hurricane, one needs to first gather essential materials. During a hurricane, lighting,
strong winds, and flash floods may occur, so it is important for you to stay indoors and off of roads.
Blackouts may also occur, so make certain you are prepared beforehand and gather nonperishable
food items, bottles of water, flashlights, and plenty of batteries. One can also stay prepared for power

Hurricanes can have detrimental effects to your house, so be certain you board up the windows on the
outside to keep them from shattering. To do this, use thick plywood to cover up the windows and the
areas around them using nails or screws to secure the wood. After this, walk around your yard and
gather up anything valuable that might be swept away by strong winds. Also you need to be certain
that nothing that can be damaged or can easily float away is left outside. This includes children s toys,
chairs, and tools. If not safely sealed away, these objects could be thrown against your house, causing
damage such as shattered windows and broken panels. Moreover, you also may wish to invest in
sandbags to protect your home from flood waters. Watch the local news to figure out where sandbags
are being distributed. IT can also be a wise move to move anything valuable off the floor and on top of
cabinets incase rising floodwaters become too much for the sandbags Before the weather worsens,

Missions
In the 18th century, what is now California was populated mostly by Native Americans. Late in the
century, Franciscan missions sponsored by Spain and the Roman Catholic church played an important
role in establishing European settlement in the region. The Spaniards, who had already colonized parts
of Mexico to the south, wanted to protect those colonies and extend their influence northward. The
Roman Catholic church wanted to convert Native Americans to Christianity. The mission system
supported both goals. The first Franciscan mission in California (Mission San Diego de AlcalĂĄ) was
established by Father JunĂpero Serra in what in now San Diego. Fifty four years later in 1823, the
Franciscans founded their last of 21 missions at San Francisco Solano. Each mission had an armed
presidio to protect it. Each sought to teach the Native Americans both Christianity and European
farming methods. Many of the mission churches remain today as living examples of

Satan in Paradise Lost
Seeing Satan in a different light in Paradise Lost Satan is a character that has been ridiculed and teased
in our modern world because of his symbolization of evil, combined with the underlying hypothesis
that good will always triumph over evil ultimately questioning and mocking his presence. In Paradise
Lost John Milton frays from the typical view of Satan as the devil on your shoulder by having the
readers absorbed in the idea that they actually feel sympathetic towards this evil creature. Within lines

Here the reader sees Satan describing how God doesn t have to do anything, he accomplished
something once and is now valued while Satan has to constantly try and justify himself. God is held
up by old repute , that he will sit on his thrown and won t be touched because he is God and there is no
hope for Satan to overcome this reputation. When Satan goes on to tell the reader that God just being
God tempted our attempt, and wrought our fall (1.642) he is providing the image of going into battle.
Ultimately it wasn t his fault he had to perform such a task but it was God s old repute that made him
go forth with the battle. That maybe then Satan would get his own solid image instead of being
compared to various towers [without the implication of there always being a taller one]. It is through
these humanizing images presented that the reader is able to feel sympathy towards someone who is
said to be feared due to his excess evil. By looking at Satan through different eyes it is although he
becomes somewhat relatable to humans and suggests that he is misunderstood. That possibly there is

Character Analysis Of Lady Macbeth
In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the character Lady Macbeth and her various qualities
are used to reinforce the idea that being ambitious can be beneficial, however it can also have dire
consequences. This Shakespearean tragedy is set in Scotland during the Middle Ages, and follows the
tale of Macbeth, a Scottish Thane, who succumbs to temptation in an attempt to fulfil a set of
prophecies and become King. During the play he becomes consumed by his dark desires and
murderous ambitions, which ultimately lead both himself and his wife to their deaths. The author s
various messages surrounding being ambitious are shown through; the immense determination of
Lady Macbeth, her successful manipulation of her husband, and her callous nature. These qualities
and their implied messages to the audience are explored in the play through the use of; dialogue,
symbolism and other various language features.
One of Lady Macbeth s greatest strengths is her drive and determination to succeed in life. Moreover,
she was willing to do anything, even kill her own child and dash d the brains out of it to get what she
desired. Consequently this shows the immense lengths to which she is prepared to go to and it is also
highlights of the fact that sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order for your objectives to be
realised. The greatest sacrifice which Lady Macbeth makes is to that of her feminism, Make thick my
blood, stop up the access and passage to remorse. This imagery of blood is an extreme example which
shows that Lady Macbeth is willing to stop being a woman because of her great male ambitions.
However, as with all the recurring blood imagery throughout the play, it is also a show of that fact that
she will not feel any guilt for committing the atrocities she does nor will she regret the fact that she
abandoned her womanhood. Consequently, the reason Lady Macbeth has been developed in such a
way by the author is to show the cosmic power of females. Women have historically been oppressed
and so Lady Macbeth would have had to fight her entire life in order to achieve greatness, whilst men
like Macbeth get everything handed to them on a golden platter. Social constraints would have denied

Tambrands is a company that uses single product strategy to advertise their product known as
TAMPAX. This product is the best selling product with 44% of the global market share. Out of this
44%, approximately 90% of its sales come from North America and Europe. One of the main reasons
for tampax being successful only in North America and Europe is because tampons still have not
gained popularity as a result of various cultural resistance, religious resistance and/or myths associated
with using a tampon. This case study discusses the various issues that Tambrands had to overcome in
order to create a global demand for its product.
Question: What are the Problems in the case? What are the decisions to be made?
Despite being the best selling tampon in the world, the companies earnings dropped by 12 percent in
1996. Even though ups and downs in profits are part of any business, this 12 percent drop was a
serious concern as the company uses a single product strategy, also they compete against rivals such as
Playtex Products and Kimberly Clark, this makes the stakes high. At the same time, it s difficult to get

to expand globally; upon research Tambrands officials viewed the global market as a huge opportunity
as only 100 million out of the worlds 1.7 billion women use tampons.

Effective Cervical Jm Dosage Is A Common Condition,...
1. INTRODUCTION
Neck pain is a common condition, ranking as the fourth most burdensome disease worldwide.
Evidence suggests that rates of recurrence and chronicity are high (Borghouts et al., 1998; Hoving et
al., 2001), which results in considerable functional and economic implications (Vos et al., 2012). Joint
mobilization (JM) is widely acknowledged as an effective intervention (Childs et al., 2008). However,
a Cochrane review indicated that the most effective cervical JM dosage has yet to be determined
(Gross et al., 2010). Multiple studies have established a sympatho excitatory effect resulting from
cervical JM (McGuiness et al., 1997; Vicenzino et al., 1998; La Touche et al., 2013). On the contrary,
Yung et al. (2014) developed a distinctive dose using anterior to posterior pressures (AP) of the
cervical spine that resulted in a reduction in systolic blood pressure (SBP) and heart rate (HR),
suggesting a sympatho inhibitory effect. Therefore, it is indeterminate whether cervical JM results in
sympatho excitatory or sympatho inhibitory effect if the dosage (Yung et al., 2015) is different from
the traditional 3 sets of continuous 30 90 second regimen.
Maitland s (Maitland et al., 2005) unilateral posterior to anterior glide (PA) is an entry level form of
JM commonly used by physiotherapists worldwide; and it appears to be more efficacious for pain
relief and outcomes in patients with unilateral neck pain compared to other JM techniques such as
transverse pressures and

Why I Should Be A Teacher
I want to be a teacher to continue to serve. I have served twenty years as officer in the United States
Army and I want to continue to serve others in a different capacity. Through my time in service and
later as member of the civilian work force I have seen the struggles of workers and employers as they
struggle to find sustainable matches. One of the answers to this struggle a is better prepared work
force. However, there are segments of our country that have been systematically left out, and I want to
address that.
I grew up in Seattle during the de segregation, and it was normal for me to be the only black kid in my
class. As society around me came to grips with the change in the city, I had to go to school. I could
wait for programs and understanding to take hold and remove the old ways. I was labeled one of those
kids , a disruptive child in the class, until at the behest of my parents and school administrators, I was
tested. The test show I was not challenged by the normal material which lead to the behavior and soon
I was challenged.
However, my story doesn t end there. I still had to face the challenges that our current disadvantage
students face and there was a time where my future was in question. However, by the grace of a few
dedicated teachers, I was able to overcome my obstacles and find some success in the classroom,
because of that I want to pay it forward to the next generation. Because of the efforts of so many, I

Hot Air Balloon In A Wall Of Fire Rising
A massive, air filled balloon wandering mindlessly in the sky thousands of feet high is likely what
comes to mind when you think of a hot air balloon, but this is not the case in the story A Wall of Fire
Rising. In this story, the hot air balloon mentioned has such a deeper meaning to Guy. Characteristics
of a hot air balloon include being filled with air, but hollow, free flying, and non stationary. These four
characteristics define the symbol in a whole other light; they describe hopefulness, trapped, destined,
unattainable freedom and escape. As the story evolves Guy s perspective and the meanings on the
symbol changes as well.

As hopeful as Guy was, is anything he was trying to accomplish even in his reach? All the things he
wants to do for him and his family seem so farfetched; it s questionable where this hope even comes
from. When the Haiti got their freedom from the French, Guy mistakenly took this notion as a
beginning to freedom. He was stuck in a predestined future; he was poor and without a job. He was
hopeful to have his name on the job list because this meant an opportunity. As time went by, he
realized the hope was back up nothing. He was so far buried down on the job list that it was nearly
impossible to ever get out of the situation he was stuck in. Throughout the whole story he was the
most hopeful person, and it was easily seen by his determination and effort. He has high hope for a
job, freedom, escape and an opportunity even for his family. As the story developed, he became weary.
He sees all the unachieved hopes he had was pointless. He became hopeless and trapped inside his
destined fate. He was stuck inside a life that didn t give him opportunities, second chances, promises,
freedom or escape. He lived the life in the same shoes his father did. Ultimately every factor he tries to
accomplish backfires and he s trapped back at square one. He hoped for a better life apart of the life he

Benefits Of A Family History
There are a number of pros and cons that come with therapists taking a detailed family history. An
advantage in taking a full family history is that it allows therapists to help their clients learn from their
family history by developing a healthy perspective on their past. Instructing the clients to reflect on
their past can help them come to terms and provide a sense of comfort in facing their past. Another
reason is that it helps the therapist gain a fuller understanding of the family. Getting full details of
family history is important to understand the past events that have occurred. Here the therapist may
have plans for the family s treatment for therapy and therapeutic goals each member can obtain.
Asking the right questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many benefits of making it mandatory for the entire family to attend the initial session. In
the initial session, the therapist goes over the confidentiality of the therapy, goals of treatment, share
what the family will expect, and listens to each member s viewpoint of their problems and the reason
why they are seeking treatment. The initial session can show the therapist how the family
communicates and gets to observe the dynamic of the family. Also in the initial session, the therapist
will establish a therapeutic alliance with the clients. The therapist is here for each member of the
family and will remain objective. Clients are not just in therapy to talk about their problems, they are
here to become stronger as individuals and as a family as a whole.
A limitation of making it mandatory for the entire family to attend the initial session is that it may be
hard to control. When the whole family is together, it may lead to lots of shouting which can cause the
session to take a negative turn. The members can get out of control and ultimately the session will be
counterproductive to the treatment process. It is important that members speak at one time and give
each member a chance to express their feelings. Another limitation is that some members may prefer
to speak individually rather than in a larger group. When required to participate in a group therapy,
they may feel uncomfortable and be unwilling to engage.

There are five basic types of martial arts. The five basic types are Dragon, Snake, Crane, Tiger, and
Leopard. Bodidharma, a monk from India, came up with the five styles of fighting. Shaolin monks
adopted these fighting styles to defend themselves from thieves. More than 1,000 years later we now
have the many different types of martial arts. The Leopard is one of the five basic fighting styles. The
Leopard is strong against the Dragon fighting style. It is weak against the Snake fighting style. The
leopard is an offensive animal, so it is based off an offensive attacking style. The Leopard uses fast
unceasing attacks and a nonstop rapid fire barrage. The Leopard uses multiple hits at one time to
defeat an opponent rather the one big hit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tiger uses simple and direct approaches. It is of simple and direct strategies and tactics. There is
no need for complex stepping, diverse techniques, involved tactics, and no need for blocking. The
Tiger style relies on the user s size, attitude, strength, power and purpose. Its techniques are powerful.
Tiger style attacks directly at the most vulnerable and direct point of the opponent which is the throat.
If the throat is covered then the objective is to remove, and the Tiger goes for the throat. With its size
and strength a tiger cannot afford long fights as it will make them vulnerable to lesser attackers. The
Tiger operates with overwhelming power, determination, and fearlessness. It is best for the muscular,
strong, and large martial artist. The Tiger Stylist is an aggressive, offensive, and sometime harsh
fighter with the little grace, avoiding pinpoint strikes for large, sweeping movements that act as both
blocks and attacks in the one motion. The Tiger is a personality that prefers action rather than words.
They are leaders and prefer the front while others are still thinking about the origin of the problem,
Tiger stylists are already ready when others are still researching, thinking or consulting on the matter
at hand. The nature of Tiger is also not to know when to give up. There are no opponents, only
obstacles, no impossibilities, just other people s incompetence, nothing that cannot be done,

Coacervates Experiment
The purpose of this lab was to investigate how the concentration of ammonia affects the formation of
coacervates. It was hypothesized that as the ammonia concentration increase, so will the number of
coacervates until it reaches the optimal state, then would start to decrease. For this experiment 4 mL of
gum arabic solution (carbohydrate) was mixed with a gelatin solution (protein) and was placed under a
microscope to observe the number of coacervates. According to Oparin, combining organic
macromolecules would create coacervates. The first run was the control so no ammonia was added but
after each run, 2 drops of ammonia was added to see its effect of coacervates. On run 1, 49
coacervates was recorded. This data confirmed Oparin s theory ... Show more content on

Another error could be the small sample space. Only vial was tested so the data is not very reliable. If
more vials were tested, it could help disprove the mistake of this experiment or confirm it by making it
more legitimate with consistent results. The unequal amount of solution on each microscope slide
could also be an error. Even though only 1 drop of solution was dropped onto the slide each run, the
pipets are not precise and could lead to some drop being bigger than other. The bigger drop would
have more coacervates than the smaller drop. This could make the data less reliable since a variable
was added which makes it harder to understand the effect of ammonia on the formation of
coacervates. Understanding the impact of chemicals in the atmosphere and the presence of water is
very important in identifying life. Scientists are currently observing other planets in the universe and
determine their potential to sustain life by studying the planet s atmospheric makeup. By comparing
its atmosphere to Earth s atmosphere, scientists can determine if life exist on a distant planet without
going there

Food Intake 3 Days
The Encyclopedia of Women s Health (2004) defines nutrition as the sum of processes involved with
the consumption of food. The human body depends on nutrients from carbohydrates, proteins, fats,
water, and fiber to function. Nutrition, exercise, and an appropriate diet work cohesively to maintain
that the body is working productively and at full capacity. This week s assignment required the
recording of daily food intakes for a span of three days. Data from each meal was inputted into the
IProfile food journal program, and reports were evaluated to determine how nutrition, diet, and
physical activity are dependent on each other and impact health. The ... Show more content on

The body needs lipids to generate energy, but a surplus in lipid intake contributes to the development
of heart disease (Nall, 2011). The honey baked ham and chicken that my family enjoyed did have a
fatty film of saturated fat. I also tend to cook with milk and butter that is another saturated fat. On top
of my bread pudding on Saturday was a tablespoon scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Personal Intake
After reviewing foods that provide the body with protein, carbohydrates, and lipids, it was imperative
to review my own personal intakes. My personal intake for the duration of the study was 2011kcal
with my recommended DRI at 2204 kcal. Most of my daily intakes were within the recommended
range, but there are areas within my diet that I need to adjust.
Protein
My protein DRI was to stay within 55 193g of which I consumed 72 g still within the recommend
range for my individual parameters. Proteins are essential for growth, tissue repair, and enzyme
protection (Cespedes, 2012). This project was eye opening as I realized the need to manage and
balance what I eat with my physical activity to offset my consumption intakes.
Complete Protein
It is noteworthy that majority of the meals I consumed centered on complete proteins. Some meals had
both complete protein and incomplete protein such as rice and corn. A complete protein source affords
all necessary amino acids

Romans 14-17
Children of God
Romans 8:16 tells us that The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of
God. This is a doctrine that receives strong emphasis in the LDS church. From the time they enter
Primary they sing the hymn I am a Child of God. In Young Women s they recite We are daughters of
our Heavenly Father, who loves us and we love him. As LDS members, they live their lives knowing
that they have a loving Father in Heaven. Though other Christian churches share the belief that God is
the Father, their understanding of this fact is different than the LDS view. Other churches interpret the
scripture block Romans 8:14 17 to mean that we are adopted children of God, whose adoption is
conditional on our good behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To claim a God as our parent is either to claim ourselves as Godkind, or claim that God is human.
However, we are told that God made us in His own image, not just in appearance, but in form. LDS
members do not believe that God is Eternal Spirit (ucg) but rather that he is material and humanoid
(bills). Though there is a difference between God and mankind, LDS doctrine tells us that The
difference...may be one of advancement...rather than one of kind or ontological difference (white). We
are the offspring of God, not just in form, but also in disposition: Bills tells us that contrary to the
popular belief of learned men, man is created in both the physical and moral image of God (Bills). In
all senses of the word, we are a chip off the old block. Though not yet posessing the power of God, as
his children, we have the potential to be Gods. The number one thing we must understand is that even
though God is infinitely more than us, he is also similar to us. He is our Father, and we are His
children, therefore there must be similarity. However, if you believe that we are merely adopted
children of God, we lose out on this great insight into the character of

Saving The Music Foundation
Saving the Music In the United States, a notably charitable nation, there are many organizations
created solely for the betterment of the human race. These groups serve a wide variety of purposes
ranging from helping the homeless to fighting disease. Some are large nonprofit companies making
sizable donations to a cause, while others are school clubs improving their communities a single step
at a time. However, many overlook these charities, having no understanding of their work. In fact,
many organizations provide only a small glimpse into the effects of their efforts. The VH1 Save the

Once companies make large contributions, they can send worthy volunteers to events held by the
foundation on their behalf ( What s Going On ). Lucky volunteers may even meet celebrity artists and
make connections in the music industry. In fact, the foundation is holding its 20th Anniversary Gala
next fall in New York City, where famous musical artists such as Mariah Carrey and Jason Derulo
have attended in past years ( What s Going On ). The gala is based on the Pay It Forward campaign,
with the organization describing the concept as, a good deed is done for you and, in return, you pass
that good deed forward to someone new ( What s Going On ). Anyone involved with this campaign
would be paying forward the benefits of music to countless communities across the United States,
furthering their effectiveness as an educator and increasing their contributions to music education
itself. But aside from benefiting the skills of its volunteers and setting up celebrity meetings, the VH1
Save the Music Foundation provides diligent workers with a sense of pride in knowing that they have
allowed young people a more well rounded education ( What s Going On ). The foundation even
provides information entailing possible positive outcomes of their work, stating, The benefits of music
education are astounding, and studies have consistently exposed the

  • 2. `` Moral Machines `` By Robert J. Sawyer And Gary Marcus Myths are a good representation of how technology works in a society. This is due to their valuable lessons which relate the impact of technological history on society over a period of time. Two authors by the names of Robert J. Sawyer and Gary Marcus elaborate the connection between science fiction and ethics to technology which compares to Prometheus s myth. Sawyer explains the relationship in her essay The Purpose of Science Fiction in which he justifies that science fiction can portray the outcomes of future technology. Marcus justifies this connection in his essay Moral Machines when he describes how automated machinery should include ethical moralities in reference to how they are being used in real life scenarios. Sawyer and Marcus reveal the relationship of science fiction and ethics to technology which relates to the themes of Prometheus through science fiction and ethical motives. Prometheus was well known for giving the human race the gift of fire. He delivered fire to the world by stealing it from Zeus due to a conflict between the two. Prometheus was punished for his wrongdoing in which Zeus chained Prometheus to a boulder so an eagle would come to eat his liver every day. Prometheus s actions can represent a theme of progress in which he helps humans proceed around nature s boundaries. Humans encounter obstacles in their lives to achieve a better life and live comfortably, but the fire is the stepping stone to human success. Prometheus s gift to the world ... Biological Psychology Biological Psychology Melissa Thompson University of Phoenix Biological Psychology When most hear the words biological/psychology, many tend to have trouble rapping their mind around it. Psychology is the study of behavior, so how does biology fit into this equation? Well we have to assume that our brain has influence or somehow effects are behavior. In order to prove or disprove this theory, we have to research the biology and psychology of both the brain and our behavior. So how do we do this, well first we have to understand the brain and how it functions, as humans we have roughly 100 billion nerve cells in the brain. This is an overwhelming amount to keep track of at one time but ever so important to researchers. Nerve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Participating in an extracurricular activity involves balance between the activity and academics while gaining positive impacts. Many people do not see or understand the importance of extracurricular activities. Critics might argue that extracurricular activities may harm student academic success, but what they do not realize is the benefits from extracurricular activities. The following argument started when the question was raised of how students were spending their leisure time and what they gained from their involvement. After school hours are the peak time for bad behaviors and crime for students. However, extracurricular activities provide a shelter for students for fun activities. Extracurricular activities contribute positively to student academic success by teaching responsibility, time management, and team building skills. Responsibility is a substantial skill developed from extracurricular activities that impact academic success. Responsibility promotes students to be held accountable for their actions. For example, students learn that they cannot always count on their parents. Students learn there will be times when they have to do things on their own and figure out life by themselves. Parents are not always going to be there by your side. Thankfully, extracurricular activities allow students to use responsible skills in and outside of school. Responsibility gives ... Over the course of human history there has always been a strong drive to explore and travel to new and exciting places. Space exploration has captured the imagination of the general public for the last 30 years; it is only natural that people are now beginning to ask if and when they too might venture into space. Space and tourism have both developed at an equally rapid pace, and the potential of both together is definitely going to grow further. Although human spaceflight is currently the privilege of a few space exploring nations, recent advances in space technology and entrepreneurship are about to change the status quo. China, with the assistance of Russian technology, was able to place an astronaut in space in 2003 in a fraction of the time that it took other space powers, such as the USA and USSR, to do this. The first credible private space tourist venture is already a reality. The first space tourist, Denis Tito, flew in 2001 in a government vehicle, although his flight was privately funded, whilst in 2004 the first spaceship became a reality. • 10. The Birth Order Of A Child In the order of which you are born are so important in some families. In some cultures, the most important order to be in for a child was to be the oldest. Being the oldest, you could be first for the throne or first as a prince or princess. Different spots of birth order create certain differences between children belonging to this or that spot inside the family. These differences show why siblings are not alike. The term siblings are used to identify children who are brothers and sisters coming from that same mom and dad. The commonly known words sibling rivalry may be understood as a phenomenon caused directly by the order in which you were born in. From the research of Alfred Adler, the birth order of a child is the predictor of his future characteristics. Adler said that, the firstborn children are dethroned when the next child comes along and that they may never recover from that. Adler believed that the true reason for the differences between siblings is the desire to be different and have different characteristics, to be individual and not compared to their other sibling, and to stand out from the crowd of other children. Siblings ranging in age are always competing for the love of the mom and dad. Also, the oldest and the youngest always seem to have to fight for power over one another to gain control of the situation. I m the oldest, so I m going to be in charge! • 11. The Gendering Of Gender And Gender Roles In Advertising The gendering of programming allows the industry to provide the proper audience for advertisers by constructing shows pleasurable for the target audience to watch, and one aspect of this construction is in the gender portrayals of characters (Craig, 188). Advertisers use many approaches to make their product more attractive for us to purchase. One form of using different approaches is using stereotyping by gender. This idea is focused on attraction; for example, a woman is going to be more attracted toward the handsome looking man and associate that product with him or associate the product with personable looks. Using this idea, advertisers intentionally put attractive men or women in their advertisements to create a more attractive theme for their product. In most of their commercials, Fiat, has tried to make their commercials distinctly different or interesting. Analytically pulling apart one of Fiats commercials can show how advertisers are using different non conformist plot ideas, the idea of a man s woman, or a perfect woman from the man s point of view, and the idea of a shifting geek culture. Imagine a younger, geeky man walking down the busy city street, one second minding his own business, but the next second, he is blown away by a beautiful woman. In the film titled Nightcrawler, Louis Bloom shows viewers first hand what it is like to be a journalist in the fast pace city of Los Angeles. Throughout the film, Louis attempts to manipulate the other characters and uses their weakness against them to get whatever he desires. Even though a person may be considered as a bad person they still could possibly commit actions that a good person normally world and vice versa. For many people, it may be easy for them to characterize Louis as a bad person, due to the choices and decisions he makes through the movie. After watching the film several times, I am still pondering over what exactly it means to be a bad or good person. Everyone makes mistakes; it is inevitable. But the thing that separates a good person from a bad person is that a good person learns from those mistakes and never repeats those same mistakes again. Making mistakes is part of what makes us human. They not only help one learn from our experiences, but they also help shape one into the individual they would like to become. A good person is comfortable with both their strengths and weaknesses, treat others with respect, and are aware that their inner intentions are truly what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Comparing The ICTY And The International Criminal Tribunal... At the end of the Cold War, a more widespread interest in post conflict reconstruction was becoming more prevalent. The main components of this interest during the post reconciliation period were accountability and reconciliation. To facilitate this in two different post conflict environments, two respective tribunals were established. These tribunals were known as the ICTY (The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, est.1993) and ICTR (International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, est.1994) . The ICTY was formed to address the conflict in former Yugoslavia. The situation started when two of the six republics of Yugoslavia, Slovenia and Croatia, declared their independence after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This sparked a lengthy and lethal conflict within the territory. The atrocities that allegedly had been committed included but were not limited to, genocide, rape, and enslavement. Many of the victims were civilians. Because of this the ICTY was created during the war as an international criminal court that applied humanitarian law. It s purpose was to gather information, create an account of events, and prosecute those responsible for committing crimes . The ICTY is considered the first international court. Since it was the first of it s kind, the court was not without controversy. From the beginning, the method of establishing the tribunal was up for debate. Christ is the head of the body, the church (Col 1:18). The churches and their congregations must share the gospel by way of evangelism. We must be obedient so that Christ receives the glory and his Kingdom is advanced by making disciples of all nations. Later on in the play, Macbeth has Macduff s entire family murdered out of spite for Macduff, which seems very brutal even by Macbeth s impressive standards. One thing I did notice to be consistent throughout the play was the deterioration of both Macbeth s and Lady Macbeth s mental condition. This all starts about the time of the murder of Duncan, when Macbeth sees a mysterious dagger leading him towards Duncan s chamber, and becomes even more apparent after the murder of Banquo, when Macbeth sees an apparition of Banquo, covered in blood. This could be his conscience. Lady Macbeth also begins to hallucinate and picture her hands covered in blood whilst she still sleeps. There is a lot of such bloody and violent imagery throughout the play. She eventually dies, although Shakespeare omits to mention how, and we are left to speculate. As of now all that anyone knows for sure is that the women s team current deal is coming to an end. Dure points out that the debate at hand includes all forms of equality between the US men s team and the US women s team; such as equality in pay, travel amenities, and field location accessibility. However, while there are many parts to this debate Dure choses to focus on the difference in pay. Dure emphasizes the difference in the payment systems, bonuses for championships, and gap between two star players that play the same position. Dure makes sure to add that this debate has been going on for a long time and not only in the US. At this moment it is unknown if they are looking for exact pay as the men s team. The USA women s national team are demanding equal pay. Is it realistic? by Beau Dure, is an informative article written with the purpose to tell the reader the facts in the debate over equal pay between men s and women s soccer. Explain How the Social and Economic Changes Affected Gaucho Life Due to the huge migration to Latin America, foreigners introduced the gauchos to many changes that would have a lasting effect. Two of the main changes felt by the gauchos included social and economic restructuring. One must understand that history about the gauchos can potentially be biased. This is due to the fact that only news that is interesting is reported and only bad news is interesting. This clash of recorded history and actual history causes us to question what actually occurred during this time period. The gauchos lifestyle suffered greatly because of these social and economic changes. New institutions, values and beliefs all aided the transformation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also impacted other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change from a ranching to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work. These fences also kept animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill roaming horses for fun, cattle for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set territories that kept the gaucho from wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from wandering freely involved vagrancy laws. The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos now had to carry something similar to a travel permit. This again restricted their unique lifestyle. Because the government viewed the gauchos as good fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the military. This impacted their lives socially and economically. Gauchos social lives slowed down enormously because of the military. They had to work continuously. Economically they benefited because they no longer had to look for ways to support their basic needs. The government took care of making them sustain life. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Character Analysis Of Lady Macbeth In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the character Lady Macbeth and her various qualities are used to reinforce the idea that being ambitious can be beneficial, however it can also have dire consequences. This Shakespearean tragedy is set in Scotland during the Middle Ages, and follows the tale of Macbeth, a Scottish Thane, who succumbs to temptation in an attempt to fulfil a set of prophecies and become King. During the play he becomes consumed by his dark desires and murderous ambitions, which ultimately lead both himself and his wife to their deaths. The author s various messages surrounding being ambitious are shown through; the immense determination of Lady Macbeth, her successful manipulation of her husband, and her callous nature. These qualities and their implied messages to the audience are explored in the play through the use of; dialogue, symbolism and other various language features. One of Lady Macbeth s greatest strengths is her drive and determination to succeed in life. Moreover, she was willing to do anything, even kill her own child and dash d the brains out of it to get what she desired. Consequently this shows the immense lengths to which she is prepared to go to and it is also highlights of the fact that sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order for your objectives to be realised. The greatest sacrifice which Lady Macbeth makes is to that of her feminism, Make thick my blood, stop up the access and passage to remorse. This imagery of blood is an extreme example which shows that Lady Macbeth is willing to stop being a woman because of her great male ambitions. However, as with all the recurring blood imagery throughout the play, it is also a show of that fact that she will not feel any guilt for committing the atrocities she does nor will she regret the fact that she abandoned her womanhood. Consequently, the reason Lady Macbeth has been developed in such a way by the author is to show the cosmic power of females. Women have historically been oppressed and so Lady Macbeth would have had to fight her entire life in order to achieve greatness, whilst men like Macbeth get everything handed to them on a golden platter. • 30. Effective Cervical Jm Dosage Is A Common Condition,... 1. INTRODUCTION Neck pain is a common condition, ranking as the fourth most burdensome disease worldwide. Evidence suggests that rates of recurrence and chronicity are high (Borghouts et al., 1998; Hoving et al., 2001), which results in considerable functional and economic implications (Vos et al., 2012). Joint mobilization (JM) is widely acknowledged as an effective intervention (Childs et al., 2008). However, a Cochrane review indicated that the most effective cervical JM dosage has yet to be determined (Gross et al., 2010). Multiple studies have established a sympatho excitatory effect resulting from cervical JM (McGuiness et al., 1997; Vicenzino et al., 1998; La Touche et al., 2013). On the contrary, Yung et al. (2014) developed a distinctive dose using anterior to posterior pressures (AP) of the cervical spine that resulted in a reduction in systolic blood pressure (SBP) and heart rate (HR), suggesting a sympatho inhibitory effect. Therefore, it is indeterminate whether cervical JM results in sympatho excitatory or sympatho inhibitory effect if the dosage (Yung et al., 2015) is different from the traditional 3 sets of continuous 30 90 second regimen. Maitland s (Maitland et al., 2005) unilateral posterior to anterior glide (PA) is an entry level form of JM commonly used by physiotherapists worldwide; and it appears to be more efficacious for pain relief and outcomes in patients with unilateral neck pain compared to other JM techniques such as transverse pressures and ... Bodidharma, a monk from India, came up with the five styles of fighting. Shaolin monks adopted these fighting styles to defend themselves from thieves. More than 1,000 years later we now have the many different types of martial arts. The Leopard is one of the five basic fighting styles. The Leopard is strong against the Dragon fighting style. It is weak against the Snake fighting style. The leopard is an offensive animal, so it is based off an offensive attacking style. The Leopard uses fast unceasing attacks and a nonstop rapid fire barrage. The Leopard uses multiple hits at one time to defeat an opponent rather the one big hit ... There is no need for complex stepping, diverse techniques, involved tactics, and no need for blocking. The Tiger style relies on the user s size, attitude, strength, power and purpose. Its techniques are powerful. Tiger style attacks directly at the most vulnerable and direct point of the opponent which is the throat. If the throat is covered then the objective is to remove, and the Tiger goes for the throat. With its size and strength a tiger cannot afford long fights as it will make them vulnerable to lesser attackers. The Tiger operates with overwhelming power, determination, and fearlessness. It is best for the muscular, strong, and large martial artist. The Tiger Stylist is an aggressive, offensive, and sometime harsh fighter with the little grace, avoiding pinpoint strikes for large, sweeping movements that act as both blocks and attacks in the one motion. The Tiger is a personality that prefers action rather than words. They are leaders and prefer the front while others are still thinking about the origin of the problem, Tiger stylists are already ready when others are still researching, thinking or consulting on the matter at hand. • 43. Coacervates Experiment The purpose of this lab was to investigate how the concentration of ammonia affects the formation of coacervates. It was hypothesized that as the ammonia concentration increase, so will the number of coacervates until it reaches the optimal state, then would start to decrease. For this experiment 4 mL of gum arabic solution (carbohydrate) was mixed with a gelatin solution (protein) and was placed under a microscope to observe the number of coacervates. According to Oparin, combining organic macromolecules would create coacervates. The first run was the control so no ammonia was added but after each run, 2 drops of ammonia was added to see its effect of coacervates. On run 1, 49 coacervates was recorded. This data confirmed Oparin s theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another error could be the small sample space. Only vial was tested so the data is not very reliable. If more vials were tested, it could help disprove the mistake of this experiment or confirm it by making it more legitimate with consistent results. The unequal amount of solution on each microscope slide could also be an error. Even though only 1 drop of solution was dropped onto the slide each run, the pipets are not precise and could lead to some drop being bigger than other. The bigger drop would have more coacervates than the smaller drop. This could make the data less reliable since a variable was added which makes it harder to understand the effect of ammonia on the formation of coacervates. Understanding the impact of chemicals in the atmosphere and the presence of water is very important in identifying life. Scientists are currently observing other planets in the universe and determine their potential to sustain life by studying the planet s atmospheric makeup. By comparing its atmosphere to Earth s atmosphere, scientists can determine if life exist on a distant planet without going there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The honey baked ham and chicken that my family enjoyed did have a fatty film of saturated fat. I also tend to cook with milk and butter that is another saturated fat. On top of my bread pudding on Saturday was a tablespoon scoop of vanilla ice cream. Personal Intake After reviewing foods that provide the body with protein, carbohydrates, and lipids, it was imperative to review my own personal intakes. My personal intake for the duration of the study was 2011kcal with my recommended DRI at 2204 kcal. Most of my daily intakes were within the recommended range, but there are areas within my diet that I need to adjust. Protein My protein DRI was to stay within 55 193g of which I consumed 72 g still within the recommend range for my individual parameters. Proteins are essential for growth, tissue repair, and enzyme protection (Cespedes, 2012). This project was eye opening as I realized the need to manage and balance what I eat with my physical activity to offset my consumption intakes. Complete Protein It is noteworthy that majority of the meals I consumed centered on complete proteins. Some meals had both complete protein and incomplete protein such as rice and corn. A complete protein source affords all necessary amino acids ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Romans 14-17 Children of God Romans 8:16 tells us that The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. This is a doctrine that receives strong emphasis in the LDS church. From the time they enter Primary they sing the hymn I am a Child of God. In Young Women s they recite We are daughters of our Heavenly Father, who loves us and we love him. As LDS members, they live their lives knowing that they have a loving Father in Heaven. Though other Christian churches share the belief that God is the Father, their understanding of this fact is different than the LDS view. However, we are told that God made us in His own image, not just in appearance, but in form. LDS members do not believe that God is Eternal Spirit (ucg) but rather that he is material and humanoid (bills). Though there is a difference between God and mankind, LDS doctrine tells us that The difference...may be one of advancement...rather than one of kind or ontological difference (white). We are the offspring of God, not just in form, but also in disposition: Bills tells us that contrary to the popular belief of learned men, man is created in both the physical and moral image of God (Bills). In all senses of the word, we are a chip off the old block. Though not yet posessing the power of God, as his children, we have the potential to be Gods. The number one thing we must understand is that even though God is infinitely more than us, he is also similar to us. He is our Father, and we are His children, therefore there must be similarity.
