Eras
There are many theories about how earth came to be, and one of them a scientifically detailed
explanation. In this theory, it is said that earth s history has been broken up into four main eras.
The Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic Eras. Each of these eras have there own
accomplishments, or milestone events, that occurred within the time period. From one celled
organisms to dinosaurs, it all eventually leads up to the first sightings of humans. The first era to
occur was the Precambrian Era. One of the first events to happen in the history of the earth is the
Hadean Eon. The Hadean Eon was the time period in which earth s surface hardened and became
solid. Scientists found out the location of the layer that the Hadean Eon occurred... Show more

One of the Cenozoic Era s milestones is development of mammals. Mammals ruled the Cenozoic
Era after being some of the only surviving species after the mass extinction of the dinosaurs.
Fossils of mammals can be found using radioactive dating to show when these mammals
dominated the Cenozoic Era. And the last event to talk about is the placement of some of the
continents and land masses. India collided with Asia between 55 and 45 million years ago, and
Arabia collided with Eurasia 35 million years ago. Scientists can date these events by taking the
direction that the plates are moving and reversing the

Egyptain Foreign Policy In Regards To Israel The United...
The History of the conflict in the Middle East is long and well documented. To both, and to many
biased observers the history of the Egyptian/Israeli conflict is very one sided, with one government,
or one people causing the continued wars between the two neighboring states. But, as any social
scientist of any reputation will state, all international conflicts have more than one side, and usually
are the result of events surrounding, and extending over the parties involved. Thus, using this
theory as a basis, we must assume that the conflict between Israeland Egyptis more complicated
than a partial observer would see it. For the purpose of this paper, we are going to examine the
basic factors of Egypt s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned, the Egyptians saw the formation of Israel as an Imperialist state, and they were
defending the land for the Palestinians, and more importantly for the newly developing arab unity.
While the United States was not actively involved in the war, either by providing arms or providing
much assistance, their actions did create an interesting and volatile atmosphere. As soon as the state
of Israel was created, the United State quickly recognized the state and started diplomatic relations
with the newly formed government. At the same time, the USSR recognized Israel, not wishing the
US to be seen as the champion for the newly found state. Although there is no definitive proof, one
can assume that Egypt, and the rest of the Arab nations felt the need to quickly react to the
situation, in almost a type of fear that powers outside their Arab influence, such as the United
States were quickly impeding on their territory, by using Israel as a means of their peaceful
aggression.
Still, Egypt was clearly the main aggressor in this instance, and was not defending their own
territory, but instead attempting to obtain territory, which they did succeed in acquiring, through
the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian actions quickly set the tone of conflict in the Middle East, giving the
Israelis no option but the take an initial purely military response in defense of their newly formed
state. In the minds of the Israeli leaders, Egypt

President Hoover Failure
The Great Depression was an abrupt decline in the supply and demand of goods and services along
with a meteoric rise in unemployment. President Herbert Hoover thought there should not be too
much government intervention and the crisis would balance itself out after a while, but that was
not the case. His attempts to aid the Great Depressionwere not as successful as hoped and did not
gain him much popularity while he ran again for a second term as president. In 1932, Franklin
Roosevelt won the presidential election by a landslide against President Hoover. President
Roosevelt created policies and programs that later collectively became known as the New Deal.

therefore, it was not as productive as it could have been. Social Security Act (SSA) provided

deductions from workers paychecks, but in reality, slowed economic growth by restraining
consumer purchasing power. The programs and benefits of the Social Security Act were not

However, anyone who shows courage, selflessness, and virtues qualify for the hero archetype.
Steven Spielberg s 1982 film E.T. the Extra Terrestrial narrates the Taylor family s efforts to

Why Advertising Alcohol Is Destroying Public Well-Being Essay

Why Advertising Alcohol Is Destroying Public Well Being When I was nine years old, I remember
seeing the most delectable, mouthwatering commercial on television. It was for beer. Growing up in
a family that did not drink, I never thought beer could look so appetizing. The beverage was
everywhere I looked except for in my own fridge. Not only adults, but kids and teens everywhere
are being bombarded with alcohol advertisements. Many of these youths choose to succumb to
these ads and end up with destructive drinking habits. Not only is alcohol damaging to youth but
also to adults. According to a U.S. study, adults were found to put themselves at severe risk of
harm after having more than four drinks in one session (Medew). This number can change
depending on the gender, size, athleticism, and other factors of the consumer. Although some may
say that alcohol is not too damaging if drunk responsibly, the fact that alcohol is a direct route to
damaging organs like the liver, heart, and pancreas and harming the brain is a red flag
(NIHSeniorHealth). To whatever extent, alcohol weakens the brain s control over movement,
speech, memory, and especially judgement, which often leads to impulsive behavior and other
dangerous activities (NIHSeniorHealth). There are plenty of harmful side effects of drinking, so
the obvious solution to preserving the nation s well being is to not encourage it. One quote by a

Canadian Magazine Dispute Case Study
1.To what extent do you think the U.S. Canadian magazine dispute was motivated by genuine
desires to protect Canadian culture?
I believe a small part of the dispute of the argument was to protect the Canadian culture. The
magazine rotation is Canada is mostly American. There is very little Canadian tradition in these
magazines. Magazines show a large part of a country s culture. That is why many countries do not
carry magazines of different culture or have them in large rotation. Depending on the type of
magazines, many residents look for trends that are going on in their country. If a Canadian opens a
home dГ©cor magazine, for example, and it is American then they will have a completely
Americanized idea of home dГ©cor, not of Canadian trends. So magazines can lead to culture and
culture being lost.

If you were the Canadian government, trying to protect the domestic magazine market, what kind
of criteria would you establish to distinguish between a split run and a domestic magazine?
Lack of enforcement of some existing policies provide competitive advantages to non Canadian
magazines and would appear to undermine enforcement of Canadian (Jamison, 2008).
Lacking of enforcement of pushing more Canadian magazines on the newsstands has caused major
competition with Canada and foreign magazines. I would make sure that the would work with
foreign magazines to use some of the Canadian advertising, publishing as well as modeling
agencies in these magazines. If there can be no other compromise, I would use my position to
make sure that agencies in publications are utilized in these magazines as well so they can seek
profit.

How Did The Fall Of The Berlin Wall
After second world war, the alliance force divided Germany into two states, East Germany and
West Germany. In the years between 1949 and 1961, about 2.5 million people fled from East to
West Germany , including steadily rising numbers of skilled workers, professionals and
intellectuals(1). Their lost threatened to destroy the economic viability of East German. In
response, East Germanybuilt a barrier to close off East German s access to West Berlin ( and hence

The Differences in Laws and Privacy in the United States...
In Computer Security what are the differences in laws and privacy between United States vs.
European Union? Do the laws that a society have in place deter computer hacking or should we
require to have better systems and technology to prevent such an attacks. In reviewing the US s
Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and the changes that have been made to improve computer security
in the private sector, to see if these enough to protect our systems from cybercrimes? Will the
addition of the Aaron law to this act going to improve computer security? Is the government just
playing with terms and phase, or can this amendment true help protect our systems and how will
hacking be handled in the future? I will outline that our government is merely addressing hacking
on a, as it happened bases compared to the European Unionand does not clearly define the modern
issue that we are handling or what they will become.
The Computer Fraud Abuse Act (18 USC 1030) is legislation that was first enacted in 1986 to
clarify the existing computer fraud law created in 1984 it helped to identify and speak to
malicious code and hacking attacks. The legislation identifies what is consider a crime and were
the line are between crime and code are. Even though the Act clearly details what is not
acceptable, it falls short in today s modern time. The act was constructed in a time well before the

Admissions Under the Mental Health Act 1983
The process of civil admissions under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983 may be viewed by civil
libertarians as a violation of the individual s freedom. The state s justification for such a violation is
for the need to protect the individual concerned or to protect others in society. The Mental Health
Act 1983 does not explicitly require that an individual would have to be dangerous in order for that
individual to be admitted to hospital. However, there has developed a dangerousness criterion,

The process of civil confinement requires an application for admission to the hospital from
either an approved social worker (ASW) or the nearest relative (NR) of the individual who is to

The Pros And Cons Of Ida B. Wells
The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting Sun Tzu. Many of the famous
Civil Rights leaders would agree with this quote, but while there also leaders that wanted
violence. Many famous people of this time period had differing opinions on how to make the lives
of African Americans safer. The primary sources from Wells, Washington, Turner, Du Bois, and
Harper showed their separate opinions on how to better the lives of African Americans, and each
person had positives and negatives, but the alternative offered by Ida B. Wells would have caused
larger problems between the black and white communities. Two of the alternatives proposed were
considered radical and almost dangerous to the African Americancommunity. The first radical idea
was proposed by Ida B. Wells. She believed that the African American population needs to stand up
against the government to show that the lynching and unjust treatment in America is unfair. Wells
was famous for her boycotting of the railroads, and she wanted every household to have a gun just
in case of emergencies involving the white people. These ideas were very radical for the time
period because she wanted people to hurt others first, she famously states, The strong arm of the law
must be brought to bear upon lynchers in severe punishment, but this cannot and will not be done
unless a healthy public sentiment demands and sustains such action . Ida B. Wells had passionate

Soul Sisters Come On To My House Summary
In Soul Sisters, Come on to My House Susan Freire Korn argued in her book s introduction that her
purposes were to help people transmit from the state of being aware of the cultural variations and
differences, to a state of susceptibility and willingness to utterly embrace and value these variations
in cultures. This susceptibility was identified as: cultural sensitivity which was destined to help
employees within life and work environments to treat each other courteously, with respect and
dignity (Freire Korn, 2011).
Freire Korn in her book went further and stated that people need more than treating each other with
respect and dignity, but rather need a wider understanding, compassion, kindness, a profound
tolerance and acceptance of others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ethnocentric individuals from seeing and viewing the world equally and reasonably. Hence,
Cultural relativists seek to understand the reason why individuals from another culture dress, speak

own norms because for relativists, no culture is better or worse than another culture. With the
advance of human rights, adherence to ethnicity is not an imposition and compulsion where it

strives to promote an equal vision and perception of all existing cultures and cultural ideologies. Yet
the role of communicative skills and languages is pivotal to accomplish the cultural interaction and
understanding. Accordingly, since the use of English language dominated the globe, it can be used

Cochlear Implants Persuasive Speech
I would give my child cochlear implants at a young age. Some people don t know what cochlear
implants are. Well cochlear implants are a device that are used to help a child hear if they are
deaf or hard of hearing. They are implanted inside the child s head and have a piece outside the
head as well. Having them implant wont just help the child hear, but will provide lots of
opportunities for he child in the future.
Some people say that you don t really know if you want to implant your child until they are

The younger you are implanted the better the chances of being able to fully hear are. The older
you are when implanted the less likely the chances of being able to fully hear are. In 2010 it was
reported that over 40 million Americans are older than 65 years old, of those 40 million many
will most likely experience hearing loss. By the year of 2050, the amount of senior citizens will
increase by 147%(Sladen, D. P., Zappler, A. (2015)). That is more people with hearing loss and
that means a growing need for an implant that may or may not work because of the age of the
user. An estimated 65% of people 10 years and older have a hearing impairment(Sladen, D. P.,
Zappler, A. (2015)). With the older a person becomes the more hearing loss they have. While
losing hearing it would be very difficult to gain hearing back with an implant. By implanting a

In A Station Of The Metro, By Erza Pound
Life is short, spend your time wisely is a common phrase many individuals use to see the
positive side in their everyday life and to forget about the negativity that fills them because they
only have one life to live and there is no time for them to be filled with hatred. Time is forever
but life is not. There comes points in life where one has to accept that death is inevitable, and so
start to analyze the world around them to then realize the beauty of life itself. The following poems
chosen all represent the essence of timewhere psychological issues such as fear, grief, and
memory are apparent when the dealing with the issue of fragility of life. The poem In a Station
of the Metro, by Erza Pound suggests the brevity of life itself as in one glimpse, time has
expired and one s life is over without even realizing. Beginning with the poem s length, it is only
two lines long which emphasizes how life runs at a fast speed. One begins to read the poem, and
as soon as you now it, the poem comes to an end. Life is just like that, one starts off as an infant,
believing that they have all the time in the world to do many things, then without even noticing,
time has passed by in a rapid speed and one is an adult just like that. Pound uses a train as a
metaphor to compare how life speeds away in an instant. The speaker watches the apparition of
these faces in the crowd (267) as the train passes by. The doors open quickly, revealing a sea of

Essay On Veterans Ethics
Over the last decade or so we have seen our country fail our Veterans on so many different levels.
The U.S. Governments treatment of our Veterans has come under fire because so many of our
Veterans are not being adequately taken care of. Some would say this is a mere oversight in our
government, but to me it is a lack of ethics. Menzel defines Ethics as values and principles that
guide right and wrong behavior. When we look at the landscape of our Government beginning with
the Executive office we see a lack of leadership in my opinion. The President of the United States

3.0 Question 2
3.1 Intangibility
Intangibility means the incapacity to assess the value gained from using an intangible service
where it can t be seen, touched, tasted, smelled or stored (Palmer, 2000). In intangibility there
are two different aspects that could be looked into which is the search quality and experience.
The search quality is when they observe the product without experiencing it at first hand. In
reality they would know what they would want to rent like for example kayaks, canoes or a
motorboat by only looking at it but have not experienced it yet. The experience is when the
customer has rented the tangible product and has had an experience using it while being able to
assess whether it is satisfactory or not. Once the service rented is satisfactory, the customers
would tend to return to the same place as they would have confidence on the service obtained.
Services are harder to market to potential customers compared to goods as there is no physical
evidence to showcase. This is where the advertisements, brochures and customers word of mouth
play a big role. The advertisements and brochures has to be crystal clear and direct to capture the
attention of potential customers, giving them an idea of the services that might be purchased,
which in this case is rental of various boats.

a successful demand, and business like Starbucks took over their business. When Starbucks first

coffee while taking a time to relax. Unlike Barnes and Nobel, Starbucks offered a quieter
atmosphere where there were not too many people trying to read a book, buy a book, find an

How Important and Applicable Do You Feel Segmentation Was...
How important and applicable do you feel segmentation was for Gillette
Any market in terms of marketing consists of buyers who differ in their tastes, desires, needs, and,
most importantly, buy goods based on different motivations. Therefore, the entrepreneur must
understand that in diversity of demand, especially in a competitive environment, each person will
react differently to the goods or services offered. Very difficult to satisfy all customers, because
each of them has some differences in the requirements. Production and sale of a limited number of
types and models of products, designed only to a certain average level, without differentiation needs
may not be the best strategy to use the potential of the company. For example, some ... Show more

On the other hand is a management approach to decision making at the enterprise market, the basis
for selecting the right combination of elements of the marketing mix.
According to Geoff Lancaster and Lester Massingham in Essentials of Marketing Management , the
bases used for segmentation should fulfil the following criteria:
1) Measurability: The bases used to segment a market should lead to ease of identification (who is
in each segment) and measurability (how large is each segment).
2) Accessibility: The bases used should ideally lead to marketers being able to reach selected
market targets with their marketing efforts.
3) Substantiality: The bases used should ideally lead to segments that are sufficiently large to be
worthwhile serving as distinct market targets.
4) Meaningfulness: The bases used should lead to segments that have different preferences/needs
and show clear variations in market behaviour and response to marketing efforts.
Thus, in our case study we can see that Gillette s segmentation has been a key factor for its success,
as through market differentiation and segmentation; the company has been able to identify the
different consumer needs and provide each segment with the products that are specifically designed
to meet its needs.
In 2002, Gillette conducted a market research which concluded that

The Negative Consequences Of The Holocaust Genocide
The Holocaust was a mass extermination, otherwise known as a genocide, against the Jewish
population. Genocide refers to an intentional killing of an entire race or ethnicity. Hitler began to
attack the Jews after World War I, when looking for someone to blame for all the trouble and
negative consequences Germanyhad to face after the war. Germany had to face the immense cost for
reparations that were stated in the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler stated in his Mein Kampf (My
Struggle) that Germany had been stabbed in the back by Jews and Communists during the war
(Merriman, 1014). With this mindset, Hitler also developed his theory that the Aryan race (those
with blonde hair and blue eyes) were dominant over others. This pushed Hitler to intentionally
eliminate the Jewish race, through an inhumane environment concentration camps.... Show more

There existed concentration camps throughout Eastern Europe, but they were most prevalent in
Poland. Since before WWII, Poland held the highest number of the Jewish population in Europe.
Therefore, it was the core place for eliminating the Jewish people. In these camps, the people
were either sent to labor or extermination camps. As described by Levi, women, children, people
who were not capable of working were sent to extermination camps. Those who were overworked
in labor camps, faced deprivation of their humanity and of basic rights. As it states in, Reflections
on holocaust and Holocaust by David Caldwell, the disaster of the Holocaust was a failure of
civilization itself (11). Caldwell goes further in describing the chaos, or Shoah, as an exposure for
the human s capability and inclination to commit genocide, as well as others unwillingness to
confront what was happening. There were people in Germany and around the world who were well
aware of the mistreatment happening to the Jewish, but never took

A Story Of Success And Its Impact On The World
I like to visualize our presence in this universe as threads, running from one end to another, each of
the same length as that of our lives. To picture a person s lifetime, I see thousands of these multi
colored threads against a white background. For most part, a thread runs straight, unfettered but
sometimes another thread crosses this one, defining a point in time when a person becomes
associated with an event or is affected by its consequences. Today, I want to talk about two such
events that crisscrossed a hundred other threads. Both of these events catapulted my understanding
of large scale programs and the transformational impact they have on the people they serve. One is
a story of success and the other, failure. It was one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like the autonomic nervous system of a giant, our setup included over twenty five thousand
network switches and thousands of miles of cabling, which would soon carry VoIP (Voice Over

conveyor belts, would talk to each other, through our networks, to find the most efficient path to
move belongings. Even passenger preferences and on demand movies would be wirelessly
transmitted to parked aircrafts, via our networks. My job was to ensure that this network was
delivered. Using a team of 20 engineers, and over 40 technicians, we approached the work with a
strong plan. The next few months saw the network switches being installed and the cabling work
completed. The backbone was ready for the various vendors to plug their systems into but that was
where we hit a roadblock. There were no less than 200 vendors, represented by over 100
nationalities and until this point each team had worked in isolation, chipping away at their share of
the work, giving life to their part of this gargantuan machine. When all these teams were suddenly
brought together, to interface with each other s systems, human interactions became as complex as
they could get. Meanwhile, the DGCA (Directorate

Is The Patriot Movie Historically Accurate
My opinion may be different than yours but here it is . Overall in the movie , scenes / events did

The Future Health And Survival Of The Great White Shark
Today I will be informing you all about the most feared and fiercest predator in the sea. In this
speech I will be discussing the evolution, physiology, ecological niche and propose a postulate
for the future health and survival of the Great White Shark. The Great White is scientifically
known as the Carcharodon carcharias and is considered a carnivorous killing machine. This fish
has been around for hundreds of millions of years and its evolution has enabled it to develop
extraordinary abilities to find and catch prey as well as reproducing to prosper as a species.
However, its success is only guaranteed in an environment with no predators. Man has impacted
dangerously upon sharks due to the significant slaughter of their numbers. Sharks are not able to
respond to this threat. As large and powerful predators, great white sharks play a key role in the
ecosystem and was granted a protected status in South Africa, California and Australia. Great white
sharks live in all coastal temperate waters around the world and have been found in waters as deep
as 300 meters. It had been thought that the Great White Sharkhave descended from the 50 foot
Megalodonalso known as the Megatooth Shark due to similarities in tooth structure and saw like

dinosaurs? For over a hundred and fifty years there has been constant debate about where exactly

Power in International Relations
The conception is power in International Relations is a key to a better understanding of the
discipline. In many cases the definition of power affects the way in which many issues are
tackled in foreign policy or security. There are many theories that try to deal with the conception
of power, however they make a rather large number of assumptions that might make them difficult
to applicable in real life. Furthermore many of them does not take into consideration that power
evolves, therefore if we want to understand and conceptualize power in the international sphere it
is crucial to analyze different theories and conceptions of it.This essay will argue that power is a
broad term that can best be conceptualized and explained in IR by a multiplicity of theories. In
making this argument, this essay will first explain why power power is crucial in the study of
International Relations. Then two theories of power from the realist tradition , one of the
neoliberalist tradition, one of postmodernism and a critical theoryof realism will be outlined. This
theories of power will be explained and compared in order to create a complete conceptualization of
the term power than can be applied to the twentieth first century
The realist view of International Relations explains that power is crucial for International Relations
because every state is in the pursuit of it. Furthermore the words power and powerful are used very
often in the international spectrum, however a definition of it

Toronto Maple Leafs Contenders
The Toronto Maple Leafs cup contenders? Impossible, you might say, and that would have been
the case just a mere two seasons ago when they fell off the cliff and crash landed into the bottom
of the Eastern Conference, but the Maple Leafs are a different team now. They have rebuilt, oted,
and redeemed themselves in a city where winning has become a dot on the horizon. They have
accumulated all of the things that take a team to the playoffs: improved defense, explosive offence,
and unbelievably talented goaltending. With the fresh vision of their head coach, Randy Carlyle,
the Toronto Maple Leafshave become a team with a shot at the playoffs this season. To begin
with, one of the most important reasons why the Leafs have become a contending team this
season is because of their outstanding improvement on the blue line. Putting the puck in the net
has never been an issue nor a worrisome topic in the city of Toronto. Fans hear the buzzer go off
at the ACC regularly and it has been something we have taken pride in. Nonetheless, when your
defense can not defend, there just is not enough goals to score, which is why the case has been
different this season and in as the talented players on this team have finally had their time to
emerge thanks to the defense doing their jobs. Let s be honest , one does not simply find

An Inventory Management System For A Mass Production...
An inventory management system, inventory control and inventory accuracy are paramount to a
mass production manufacturing facility, especially when multiple part types and multiple product
types are being produced. Raw component inventory can account for millions of dollars of an
organizations cash, which is not contributing to profitability until converted to a product and sold.
Therefore, it is essential for an organization to have an inventorymanagement system and an
inventory control process to account for the value associated with each part and ultimately to return
value to the operation.
Inventory inaccuracy can negatively impact the performance of the production control system
(Chan Wang, 2014). It is difficult to account for raw materials at every stage of the manufacturing
process with complete accuracy, thus an error between the actual inventory level and the supply
chain management systems record of inventories cannot be completely avoided. However, when an
inaccuracy exists in the raw materials inventory it creates a negative effect on the material
requirement planning (MRP) systems. The inaccuracy of the material requirement planning
systems has a negative impact on the performance of production planning, scheduling and control,
which contributes to a less than optimal production output and potentially to disappointing
customers with lack of manufactured goods.
In a traditional inventory management system, it is assumed that the raw material stock

Sotomayor was born in Bronx, New York, on June 25, 1954 to parents whom emigrated from
Puerto Rico. The family, including her brother, survived on a very moderate income while
living in government public housing or the projects. Juan, Sonia s father, whom had only a third

Analysis Of She Stoops To Conquer
She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith is a play written in 1771 that premiered in London in
1773. Some theatrical conventions have remained the same, while others have changed.
Consequently, Stolen Shakespeare Guild performance of She Stoops to Conquer strays from the
original production.
One similarity in the plays is the use of female actors. This play first premiered in London in
1773. During this time women actually played female roles unless it was a role such as a witch
or a comic old women. Women even got the chance to play male roles especially if the character
was a female pretending to be a male (britches parts) , or if the character was a feminine male.
Women being on stage was such a big deal that some productions would advertise having all the
parts played by women.
In the version, I saw of She stoops to Conquer women were playing the women roles. As a matter
of fact, the story revolved around the lives of two women Ms. Hardcastle and Constance Neville
and these actresses did a wonderful job portraying these characters. Women playing these roles
designed for women made the play more effective because it added to it s believability. Women
bring a certain softness to stage that I don t think men can offer, and that softness that was brought
on stage by these actresses added a little more to the story. This is one convention that I m glad we
ve stuck with.
One difference in the two performances is the way in which the actor system worked. During the

Andromache s Lamentations In The Iliad Analysis
Throughout the Iliad lamentations provide eulogies of heroic figures, which praise their past deeds
and individual traits, often through the expression of a speaker s personal feelings and attachment.
When Hektor dies, however, Andromache delivers lamentations that deviate from the trend of other
lamentations in the Iliad. Andromache s lamentations are future oriented instead of being rooted in
the past, and deliver narratives about the future of Hektor s family and the Trojans rather than
displaying words of effusive emotion. Moreover, Andromache employs antithesis, a technique that
makes her lamentations more complicated and meaningful than the lamentations of others Briseis,
Helen, or Hekabe, for instance. With these unique... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, Homer s diction is composed of successive terms that possess feminine and domestic
qualities. Compounded with Andromache s innocence, the diction overturns the violent and
gruesome atmosphere of previous battle scenes and brings in warm, domestic serenity. In later
lines, however, the martial qualities are revived and directly contrast with this domesticity.
Andromache runs out of the house like a raving woman with pulsing heart, just like a soldier
whose brother or a close friend had died (22.460 461). When she comes up the wall and sees
Achilles dragging Hektor around, she faints, and this scene even more resembles the death of a
soldier, particularly Patroklos:
The darkness of night misted over the eyes of Andromache.
She fell backward, and grasped the life breath from her, and far off threw from her head the shining
gear that ordered her headdress, the diadem and the cap, and the holding band woven together, and
the circlet, which Aphrodite the golden once had given her (22.466 470).
Not only Homer uses the expression darkness of night misting over the eyes, a common phrase
used to describe the deaths of soldiers, but also Homer likens the way Andromache falls
backward to a dead soldier getting disarmed. In the scene when Hektor kills Patroklos, Patroklos s
iron shod, far shadowing spear, shield, and corselet drop to the ground, one by one (16.801 804).
Similarly, here, Andromache s diadem,

Darwinists and Dissenters
Did God create the universe or did the universe create itself? Ever since Charles Darwin s On the

brought into existence by supernatural means and those who believe in Darwin s theory of
evolution has been fierce. Each side presents compelling arguments that may sway any uneducated
reader to agree with their position based solely on the confidence they portray in their writings.
However, because of the vastness and strength of evidence presented by the proponents of modern
evolutionary theory, Darwinists have proved their point much greater than those who argue in favor
of Intelligent Design. In this essay, four arguments will be presented; two... Show more content on

In other words, the complexity of life and its organisms could not have arisen slowly over time
because if one part of a whole is not present then it cannot function, survive, and therefore possess
the ability to reproduce and evolve. Behe explains this theory using a mousetrap as an example. He
writes that if any one of the components of the mousetrap (the base, hammer, spring, catch, or
holding bar) is removed, then the trap does not function and that because the mousetrap is
necessarily composed of several parts, it is irreducibly complex... thus [proving] irreducibly

Abstract: In this paper we present a load measurement scheme for home energy management system
with energy demand management. The proposed system will have control of various appliances that
are available in the home. It manages household loads according to their predefined priority and
guarantees the total household power consumption below certain levels. The home energy
management system will receive the demand response from the utility side. The goal of the
system is to encourage the consumer to use less energy during peak hours or to move the time
of energy use to off peak times such as nighttime and weekends. Thus the high peak to average
ratio (PAR) of power will be avoided and also we adopt real time pricing. The utility company use
real time dynamic pricing to coordinate demand responses to the benefit of the overall system.
Hence for this purpose we need to measure the power consumed by the various appliances that are
available in the home.

Analysis Of Norman Mailer s The Naked And The Dead Essay
In this excerpt of Norman Mailer s The Naked and the Dead, the story follows an interaction
between General Cummings and his aide Robert Hearn. In their confrontation, Hearn mocks the
legitimacy of Cummings s authority as general. Cummings does his best to assert himself, but he
realizes that his power is illegitimate. In examining this conflict, Mailer s story covers important
sociological concepts, including the characterization of symbolism, legitimacy of rational authority,
the looking glass self, the idea of communion, conflict theory, dominance, anomie, mores, and the
power hierarchy. Symbols transcend objective significance, as their importance comes from the
ideas associated with them. As Emile Durkheim says in his essay, Sacred Objects as Symbols, ...the
sacred character assumed by an object is not implied in the intrinsic properties of this latter: it is
added to them ( Sacred Objects as Symbols ). This idea becomes apparent in Cummings s appalled
reaction to seeing the cigarette butt and match mashed into the floor. Although seemingly

In his essay, Legitimate Order and Types of Authority, Max Weberdiscusses the idea of legitimacy:

Carl Rogers Research Paper
Carl Rogers was an American Psychologist. He was one of the founders of humanistic psychology
and the founder of person centered psychotherapy. He also developed the notion of the fully
functioning person. He focused a lot of the development of self. Carl Rogers was one of the most
influential psychologists of the 20th century.
Carl Rogers was born on January 8th, 1902 in Oak Park Illinois. Carl was the fourth child out of
six children by Julia Cushing and Walter Rogers. He was a very early achiever from an early
age and skipped kindergarten because he could read before the age of 5(Cherry). In grade school,
he was taught in a strict religious environment. He started off college planning to study agriculture
at The University of Wisconsin Madison but soon after decided to switch his major to religion

After his many years of school, he began working in academia. That started his approach to therapy
where he studied non directive therapy. He began doing a lot of research on humanistic psychology
and started testing his theories. He did a lot of work in the psychology field and wrote 19 books
and countless articles(Cherry). In 1946 he was elected President of American Psychological
Association and in 1987 he was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize(GoodTherapy).
Carl Rogers had many big impacts on the field of psychology. He developed client centered
therapy which is his theory that in order for a patient s condition to improve the therapist should be
comforting and genuine(Ackerman). Patients should feel comfortable and be able to speak their

Texas Lobbying Case Study
Prabhat Bachagain Professor Sharifian GOVT 2306 April 5, 2017 Lobbyists and Interest Groups
in Texas Lobbying is the action of influencing or persuading the public official to take a desired
action, usually to pass or defeat a legislation and Lobbyists are the activists who are hired for
lobbying.
In simple words lobbying is way of influencing a person or employee who has the power to make
or change the decision on their favor. Lobbyists especially work for interest groups, law firms and
corporations. 1 Interest groups are non profit and usually voluntary organization who have a
common cause for which they seek to influence public policy without seeking any political control.

It is true that they represent a large influential society but that does not mean that people should
not know about the true expenditures and process that was involved to get their bills passed. The
government should definitely do something to make the transactions transparent. The government
is right about not placing rigid limitations on interest groups as it has placed on individuals
because if those limitations are lifted from the individuals and they have same power as the
interest groups, they will be too many bills demanding their own benefit. In my opinion, the
collective influence of interest groups does override the ability to influence politics as some
citizens may fall into leader s false promises and act for their individual needs but the collective
has a major influence as citizens expect their need to be taken care of. The NARAL (National
Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) is one of the most important interest groups in
the country and On June 26, 2016, the supreme court passed a decision on their favor supporting
the women s right to abortion and reproductive freedom that all the clinics should support abortion
and re open the facilities to make abortion more

Summary Of Stephen Levitt s Freakonomics
When you think of economics, you imagine the business field of finance and commerce; however,
reading Freakonomics you can see that this book defies that stereotype by distinguishing between
how the world works and how we think it should work. Freakonomics, shows the unconventional
ways that the world must operate in its everyday life. Throughout the book Stephen Levitt discusses
how we as humans are driven by incentives daily. Levitt explains the concept of correlation does not
prove causation to show that one thing happening might not have any correlation to the thing it
may cause. For example, he disputes that the more money a candidate uses on his/her election, the
more likely that candidate is to win elections. In the first chapter of Freakonomics, Levitt begins to
tell how if people are given incentives, more times out of none... Show more content on

Although a child s name does not have any impact on the economic success of the child. Levitt
chose to contrast name that black and white parents chose for their children. The name a child is
given at birth seems to be a predictor about who the parents are rather than what the child will
become in their future. A lot of names were also seen to show socio economic status and how
they tend to cycle through higher and lower strata s over time. Another thing we learned was
that many of the names given to a child, despite being white or black, tend to be very dissimilar.
In this chapter, I tended to be more drawn in because I never would have thought that that a child
s name could have any affect (which is does not) on the success of a child. Many people with the
same name, I have learned are not all going to be as smart or as well off as the other. Many
names seem to have good or bad reputations. There was said to be studies found that showed
people with unusual name to drop out of school and become more isolated in

The Problem Of Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is a country mainly known for the origin of Islam and has two holiest places in the
country. Saudi Arabia is an oil producing country with huge reserve fund and its currency is doing
very good on the financial front. Till early nineties country was in the very good state of the
financial as well as population distribution. Most of the Saudis were working and having very low
unemployment situation. With the increase in the population and educated youth demand for work
has increased and those who could not get jobs turned their faces towards other activities like an
illegal business and helping or involving them in terrorist activities. To meet this growing problem
king Suleman tried to analyze the problem and declared some policies about the illegal immigrants
or people overstaying in the country even after their immigrationtime has expired. The rule has
been so critical and changed the definition of the immigration that people staying in the country
after the expiry of their visa will be treated as an illegal immigrant. The police have taken very
strong action against the illegal immigrants. This all is done to accommodate their own people in
certain jobs so that they can be employed and the illegal activities can be curtailed down. The aim
of the policy is to satisfy the local people that the government is worried about their problem and
taking action in the right direction. But the analyst says that the certain work which can be

Why Use Bloom Taxonomy In Lesson Planning
Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning
Introduction
Bloom Taxonomy is a useful planning tool for teachers. It contains of six cognitive domains, which
are known from the year of 1956 as knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and
evaluation. However, the bloom taxonomy was later revised in 2001 to remember, understand,
apply, analyze, evaluate, and create (Ugur, Constantinescu, Stevens, 2015). Using Bloom Taxonomy
in lesson planning will help teachers to develop lesson objectives based on students level of
proficiency.
Why Use Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning? Bloom Taxonomy was established to meet the
needs of students based on the learning outcome expectation or curriculum aims. It has been said,
Bloom taxonomy helps teachers to formulate lessons that practice and develop thinking skills
over a wide range of cognitive complexity (Hess, Jones, Carlock, Walkup, 2009, p. 1). The six
cognitive domains of bloom taxonomy helps teacher to develop lesson objectives, because it
explains the process of learning. According to Shabatura (2013), Before you can understand a
concept, you must remember it. To apply a concept you must first understand it. In order to
evaluate a process, you must analyze it. To create a conclusion, you must ... Show more content on

Without Bloom taxonomy in lesson planning, the teacher will only rely on one domain rather it is
remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, or creating. If that happens, students
will never expand their level of thinking skills throughout their entire school life. So, it is important
to utilize bloom taxonomy in lesson planning. However, Bloom taxonomy can also raise the
teacher s expectation of students based on their level of proficiency. This is where teachers began
to use more advance questions to assess students understanding of a

My Observations At Rose Rock School Commenced
My observations at Rose Rock School commenced at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, I climbed
the steps to get the doors and knocked on the door and only then noticed a small sign that said
for people to use the back door. The front door was then opened by a woman that asked if I was
Megan, I said yes. When I walked in I noticed that the roomshad no doors and the first room had
most likely been a living room and the room next to it a dining room. The lady that had let me in
said she would get Shanah and let her know I was here. I met Shanah and she explained that I
would be observing in the room that is next to the living room and that parents start dropping off
their children at eight in the morning.
While we talked, I asked Shanah how many children are in her group and she said thirteen
children, which included her own son that is one and a half years old. As we talked, the children
started arriving and she got them to sit down at the table and told them that they were going to
make art craft for their mother for mother s day. While Shanah was cutting the cloth, another
caregiver came into the room and I asked her what the ages the children in this group was and she
replied that the children in this group were between 1 ВЅ and 6 years old. After this caregiver left, I
noticed one of the older children asked who I was and she responded that I was watching their
class to learn.
While I was observing the group, I noticed that the 1 ВЅ year old child was at a small wooden desk

John Locke and the Unequal Distribution of Wealth Essay
It is stated by John Locke that in the state of nature no man may take more then he can consume.
...make use of any advantage of life before it spoils...whatever is beyond this is more than his
share and belongs to others. Nothing was made by God for man to spoil or destroy. (Locke 14)
Locke then goes on to say, God gave the world to man ... for their benefit and the greatest
conveniences of life they were capable to draw from it, it cannot be supposed he meant it should
always remain common and uncultivated. He gave it to the use of the industrious and rational and
labor was to be his title... (Lock 15)
Both of statements can stand alone, each could be argued. For starters, it is not only selfish to take

Which brings us to the head of the serpent.
In Locke s opinion the idea of fair unequal distribution of wealth came about with the creation of
money. Before money, things could not be saved fairly. Over stocking by some would lead to
spoilage, and leave others with nothing. Once money was introduced though, this allowed the
accumulation of wealth, without waste, so Locke says ...thus came in the use of money some
lasting thing that men might keep without spoiling, and that by mutual consent men would take in
exchange for the truly useful but perishable supports of life. (Locke 20). Now one man could have,
... a disproportionate and unequal possession of the earth... (And) ...fairly possess more land than
he himself can use the product of...(Locke 22) . The word fairly in that last statement should jump
off the page.
When speaking on the state of nature Locke s main concern is spoilage or waste of commodities,
but with the introduction of money he sees this problem solved. When in fact a floodgate for
spoilage and waste is opened. Today the market is flooded with products, and products supposed to
be better then the other product, the leading brand, and the other leading brand. Combine this with
the introduction of digital property such as television and the Internet, all other forms of mass
media marketing, and we have a whole new concept of hoarding and spoilage.

The Causes And Consequences Of Grade Inflation
Grade inflation has been a widespread issue that has been affecting many institutions. It may be in
a way where the instructor raises a students grade by one letter, or by raising a failing grade to a
passing grade. Many colleges and universities to this day use the typical letter grading system which
is A,B,C,D,F. Some universities, on the other hand feel that this grading system is under estimating
students intelligence and abilities. Also, many universities are suffering from the problem of grades
that are expanding. Professors and teachers who over evaluate the quality of the students work or
assignment and consequently assign a gradehigher than what the student deserves mainly cause the
problem. Causes that might cause grade inflation is portrayed through personal motives, target of
getting an A grade and avoiding an F and students being in competition with their classmates.
One of the causes of grade inflation is portrayed through personal motives or high expectations
from parents to their children. Many parents put pressure on their children to get good grades. As
a result, the children demand to get A s to meet one of their parents expectations, which is to good
a good job. They get motivated to only get the best of grades. This later becomes a students
personal motive. The students get motivated by letter grades and believe that an A is the only
acceptable grade and a doorway to a brighter future. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Role Of The Wto On Addressing Labour Standards
Appropriate role of the WTO in addressing labour standards
Introduction
The relationship between international trade and labour standards is a key issue today. The relation
defines the link between developing countries and advanced industrialized nations. International
enforcement of labour standards is justifiable from two frontiers of arguments. The first one opines
that unfair labour conditions and practices exist in many countries and trading partners and call for
the need to offset an occurrence through appropriate trade policy measures in a bid to level the
playing field (Elliott Richard 2003, p. 67). The proponents of the argument include organized social
and labour activists. Secondly, other social activists contend that ... Show more content on

147). Such standards are aimed at enforcing the adherence to WTO agreements by trading
countries that have signed and ratified the WTO agreement. Most issues dealt with by the WTO
derive from previous trade negotiations such as the Uruguay Round (1986 1994). All measures are
taken with the view of raising standards of living and ensuring full employment (Brown 200, p.
971). To achieve its objectives, it undertakes a series of trade liberalizing agreements reached on
consensus from the WTO s members forming the General Council.
Labour standards under the World Trade Organization(WTO)
Labour Standards in the World Trade Organization refer to the binding rules forming part of the
principles and jurisprudence applicable within the rule making structures of the World Trade
Organization (WTO). The labour standards play a critical role within the WTO. Despite them being
a backbone in the WTO, they form a prominent issue facing the WTO hence generating academic
and economic debates (Rodrik 1997, p.37). The scope to which the WTO recognizes labour
standards is based on the principles established in Conventions of the International Labour
Organization (ILO), and renowned human rights treaties such as the International Bill of Human
Rights.
Core Labour Standards
The core labour standards are identified by the Declaration of the Fundamental Principles and
Rights at Work by the International Labour Organization (ILO). They are widely acknowledged for

Neil Simon Reflection
Intelligence and emotion sure do have their boundaries, but when they lie in the palm of your
hands, being able to grasp them comes at an obstacle, especially when you re saving a town from
a curse or writing an essay to the teacher who just directed the play you re writing about. At
Bartlett High School on November 3, 2017, I watched a play called Fools by Neil Simon. Fools is
about a determined, young schoolteacher named Leon Tolchinsky who travels to the village of
Kulyenchikov and teaches Sophia Zubritsky, the daughter of the only doctor within the village. As
he arrives, he meets a handful of people, including a something, something shepherd, postman,
butcher, and vendor, and discovers that the towns lack of intelligence was due to a two hundred year
old spell that has the ability to be broken by the intelligence or marriage of Sophia. With
Kulyenchikov s fate in Leon s hand, he and his growing love for her attempts to teach Sophia in
order to avoid letting her go to be married by Count Gregor and saving the village from lost
knowledge forever. While going in to watch this play, I had very low expectations because I ve
always been the person who believed any theatrical performances in schools where you don t know
anything about the story beforehand is not going to be as great. Once those two hours passed by, I
was enthralled with this play. From the loveable characters, the terrific acting, the simple set design,
and the never ending humor, it was a play I certainly

Analysis Of Veve And El Nino
Veve and El NiГ±o are two very different, yet similar foreign films that discuss the dealing of
drugs in order to progress in society in each of the character s own individual way. Veve, directed
by Simon Mukali, depicts a story that takes place in Kenya and involves the lives of many who
are trying to discover themselves in a world of corruption, revenge, and love. This drama packed
film illustrates the numerous problems that are occurring within Kenya in regards to the affects and
economic importance of veve, which is a drugalso known as khat. Although the film s native
language is mainly in Swahili, the director s cinematography and style allows the audience to get a
basic understanding of the problems portrayed in this film. El NiГ±o, a Spanish film directed by
Daniel MonzГіn, depicts a thrilling movie of two teenage boys who enter the drug trafficking
world to better their lives financially, and two police officers wanting to eradicate a drug
trafficking network. This action packed crime film demonstrates the drug problems that are
currently happening with Strait of Gibraltar. Although both these films were created in two
different places, they share the same underlying plot. However, in order to understand the
meanings of these two films, it is important to analyze and dive into the deeper meaning of this
film as it relates to the notion of space through the concepts of mobility and gender. Simon Mukali,
born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, directed the film Veve due

from foam, plastic, and vinyl, mannequin heads are most frequently used to model hats. Rather
than waste the funds and space to display hats with full size mannequins, mannequin heads are
clearly more ingenious and they can be grouped jointly to display more than a few hats on a small

The Court Of Justice Of The European Union
Jaouad El Majdoub v. CarsOnTheWeb.Deutschland GmbH.
Judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Union (Third Chamber) of 21 May 2015
I.Introduction
With its almost recent ruling the Court of Justice of the European Union (hereinafter, CJEU) in the
case of Jaouad El Majdoub has focused on the concept of click wrapping agreement and its
compatibility with Article 23(2) of the Brussels I Regulation. Exclusively, the question of whether
the jurisdiction clauses which are incorporated within the general terms and conditions of the
electronic contracts via click wrapping method could be regarded as a durable record. The case
that was referred for a preliminary ruling to the CJEU by the Landgricht Krefeld German Court was

III.Procedural History
As to the matter of jurisdiction, El Majdoub alleged that the Landgricht Krefeld is the competent
court to proceed with the case because, Cotw as the defendant in the main proceedings is the party
to the sale contract which has been concluded between them also it is based in Germany (not in
Belgium).
On the contrary, Cotw argued that the courts in Germany are not competent authority to proceed
with the case based on two reasons. Firstly, on the website there is an agreement within Article 7 of
the general terms and conditions of online sales contracts that grants the jurisdiction to a court in
Leuven, Belgium. Furthermore, the defendant in the main proceedings contended that the real
party to the contract is the mother company which is established in Belgium while the plaintiff in
the main proceedings is well aware of that because the invoice which was sent to him contained the
contract details of the mother company and the money was paid to a Belgian bank account.
In spite of this, El Majdoub argued that the choice of court agreement acknowledged in Article 7
is not in writing, so it does not comply with Article 23(1) (a) of the Brussels I Regulation. In
addition, the general terms and conditions of the sale contract were incorporated in a webpage
which opens through clicking on a click box indicating to click here to open the

  • 4. Egyptain Foreign Policy In Regards To Israel The United... The History of the conflict in the Middle East is long and well documented. To both, and to many biased observers the history of the Egyptian/Israeli conflict is very one sided, with one government, or one people causing the continued wars between the two neighboring states. But, as any social scientist of any reputation will state, all international conflicts have more than one side, and usually are the result of events surrounding, and extending over the parties involved. Thus, using this theory as a basis, we must assume that the conflict between Israeland Egyptis more complicated than a partial observer would see it. As mentioned, the Egyptians saw the formation of Israel as an Imperialist state, and they were defending the land for the Palestinians, and more importantly for the newly developing arab unity. While the United States was not actively involved in the war, either by providing arms or providing much assistance, their actions did create an interesting and volatile atmosphere. As soon as the state of Israel was created, the United State quickly recognized the state and started diplomatic relations with the newly formed government. At the same time, the USSR recognized Israel, not wishing the US to be seen as the champion for the newly found state. Although there is no definitive proof, one can assume that Egypt, and the rest of the Arab nations felt the need to quickly react to the situation, in almost a type of fear that powers outside their Arab influence, such as the United States were quickly impeding on their territory, by using Israel as a means of their peaceful aggression. Still, Egypt was clearly the main aggressor in this instance, and was not defending their own territory, but instead attempting to obtain territory, which they did succeed in acquiring, through the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian actions quickly set the tone of conflict in the Middle East, giving the Israelis no option but the take an initial purely military response in defense of their newly formed state. In the minds of the Israeli leaders, Egypt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

President Herbert Hoover thought there should not be too much government intervention and the crisis would balance itself out after a while, but that was not the case. His attempts to aid the Great Depressionwere not as successful as hoped and did not gain him much popularity while he ran again for a second term as president. • 8. Why Advertising Alcohol Is Destroying Public Well-Being Essay Brenna Clarine Mrs. Vanwormer C.P. Reading Writing 6 May 2016 Why Advertising Alcohol Is Destroying Public Well Being When I was nine years old, I remember seeing the most delectable, mouthwatering commercial on television. It was for beer. Growing up in a family that did not drink, I never thought beer could look so appetizing. The beverage was everywhere I looked except for in my own fridge. Not only adults, but kids and teens everywhere are being bombarded with alcohol advertisements. Many of these youths choose to succumb to these ads and end up with destructive drinking habits. Not only is alcohol damaging to youth but also to adults. According to a U.S. study, adults were found to put themselves at severe risk of harm after having more than four drinks in one session (Medew). This number can change depending on the gender, size, athleticism, and other factors of the consumer. Although some may say that alcohol is not too damaging if drunk responsibly, the fact that alcohol is a direct route to damaging organs like the liver, heart, and pancreas and harming the brain is a red flag (NIHSeniorHealth). To whatever extent, alcohol weakens the brain s control over movement, speech, memory, and especially judgement, which often leads to impulsive behavior and other dangerous activities (NIHSeniorHealth). There are plenty of harmful side effects of drinking, so the obvious solution to preserving the nation s well being is to not encourage it. One quote by a Seattle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Canadian Magazine Dispute Case Study 1.To what extent do you think the U.S. Canadian magazine dispute was motivated by genuine desires to protect Canadian culture? I believe a small part of the dispute of the argument was to protect the Canadian culture. The magazine rotation is Canada is mostly American. There is very little Canadian tradition in these magazines. Magazines show a large part of a country s culture. That is why many countries do not carry magazines of different culture or have them in large rotation. Depending on the type of magazines, many residents look for trends that are going on in their country. If a Canadian opens a home dГ©cor magazine, for example, and it is American then they will have a completely Americanized idea of home dГ©cor, not of Canadian trends. So magazines can lead to culture and culture being lost. 2.To what extent do you think the government of Canada was pressured to seek to protect its market because of the ... If you were the Canadian government, trying to protect the domestic magazine market, what kind of criteria would you establish to distinguish between a split run and a domestic magazine? Lack of enforcement of some existing policies provide competitive advantages to non Canadian magazines and would appear to undermine enforcement of Canadian (Jamison, 2008). Lacking of enforcement of pushing more Canadian magazines on the newsstands has caused major competition with Canada and foreign magazines. I would make sure that the would work with foreign magazines to use some of the Canadian advertising, publishing as well as modeling agencies in these magazines. Do the laws that a society have in place deter computer hacking or should we require to have better systems and technology to prevent such an attacks. In reviewing the US s Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and the changes that have been made to improve computer security in the private sector, to see if these enough to protect our systems from cybercrimes? Will the addition of the Aaron law to this act going to improve computer security? Many of the famous Civil Rights leaders would agree with this quote, but while there also leaders that wanted violence. Many famous people of this time period had differing opinions on how to make the lives of African Americans safer. The primary sources from Wells, Washington, Turner, Du Bois, and Harper showed their separate opinions on how to better the lives of African Americans, and each person had positives and negatives, but the alternative offered by Ida B. Wells would have caused larger problems between the black and white communities. Two of the alternatives proposed were considered radical and almost dangerous to the African Americancommunity. The first radical idea was proposed by Ida B. Wells. She believed that the African American population needs to stand up against the government to show that the lynching and unjust treatment in America is unfair. Wells was famous for her boycotting of the railroads, and she wanted every household to have a gun just in case of emergencies involving the white people. These ideas were very radical for the time period because she wanted people to hurt others first, she famously states, The strong arm of the law must be brought to bear upon lynchers in severe punishment, but this cannot and will not be done unless a healthy public sentiment demands and sustains such action . This susceptibility was identified as: cultural sensitivity which was destined to help employees within life and work environments to treat each other courteously, with respect and dignity (Freire Korn, 2011). The U.S. Governments treatment of our Veterans has come under fire because so many of our Veterans are not being adequately taken care of. In intangibility there are two different aspects that could be looked into which is the search quality and experience. The search quality is when they observe the product without experiencing it at first hand. In reality they would know what they would want to rent like for example kayaks, canoes or a motorboat by only looking at it but have not experienced it yet. The experience is when the customer has rented the tangible product and has had an experience using it while being able to assess whether it is satisfactory or not. Once the service rented is satisfactory, the customers would tend to return to the same place as they would have confidence on the service obtained. Services are harder to market to potential customers compared to goods as there is no physical evidence to showcase. This is where the advertisements, brochures and customers word of mouth play a big role. An inventory management system, inventory control and inventory accuracy are paramount to a mass production manufacturing facility, especially when multiple part types and multiple product types are being produced. Raw component inventory can account for millions of dollars of an organizations cash, which is not contributing to profitability until converted to a product and sold. Therefore, it is essential for an organization to have an inventorymanagement system and an inventory control process to account for the value associated with each part and ultimately to return value to the operation. Inventory inaccuracy can negatively impact the performance of the production control system (Chan Wang, 2014). It is difficult to account for raw materials at every stage of the manufacturing process with complete accuracy, thus an error between the actual inventory level and the supply chain management systems record of inventories cannot be completely avoided. However, when an inaccuracy exists in the raw materials inventory it creates a negative effect on the material requirement planning (MRP) systems. The inaccuracy of the material requirement planning systems has a negative impact on the performance of production planning, scheduling and control, which contributes to a less than optimal production output and potentially to disappointing customers with lack of manufactured goods. Some theatrical conventions have remained the same, while others have changed. Consequently, Stolen Shakespeare Guild performance of She Stoops to Conquer strays from the original production. One similarity in the plays is the use of female actors. This play first premiered in London in 1773. During this time women actually played female roles unless it was a role such as a witch or a comic old women. Women even got the chance to play male roles especially if the character was a female pretending to be a male (britches parts) , or if the character was a feminine male. Women being on stage was such a big deal that some productions would advertise having all the parts played by women. In the version, I saw of She stoops to Conquer women were playing the women roles. As a matter of fact, the story revolved around the lives of two women Ms. Hardcastle and Constance Neville and these actresses did a wonderful job portraying these characters. Women playing these roles designed for women made the play more effective because it added to it s believability. Women bring a certain softness to stage that I don t think men can offer, and that softness that was brought on stage by these actresses added a little more to the story. • 33. Andromache s Lamentations In The Iliad Analysis Throughout the Iliad lamentations provide eulogies of heroic figures, which praise their past deeds and individual traits, often through the expression of a speaker s personal feelings and attachment. When Hektor dies, however, Andromache delivers lamentations that deviate from the trend of other lamentations in the Iliad. Andromache s lamentations are future oriented instead of being rooted in the past, and deliver narratives about the future of Hektor s family and the Trojans rather than displaying words of effusive emotion. Moreover, Andromache employs antithesis, a technique that makes her lamentations more complicated and meaningful than the lamentations of others Briseis, Helen, or Hekabe, for instance. With these unique... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here, Homer s diction is composed of successive terms that possess feminine and domestic qualities. Compounded with Andromache s innocence, the diction overturns the violent and gruesome atmosphere of previous battle scenes and brings in warm, domestic serenity. In later lines, however, the martial qualities are revived and directly contrast with this domesticity. Andromache runs out of the house like a raving woman with pulsing heart, just like a soldier whose brother or a close friend had died (22.460 461). When she comes up the wall and sees Achilles dragging Hektor around, she faints, and this scene even more resembles the death of a soldier, particularly Patroklos: The darkness of night misted over the eyes of Andromache. She fell backward, and grasped the life breath from her, and far off threw from her head the shining gear that ordered her headdress, the diadem and the cap, and the holding band woven together, and the circlet, which Aphrodite the golden once had given her (22.466 470). Not only Homer uses the expression darkness of night misting over the eyes, a common phrase used to describe the deaths of soldiers, but also Homer likens the way Andromache falls backward to a dead soldier getting disarmed. In the scene when Hektor kills Patroklos, Patroklos s iron shod, far shadowing spear, shield, and corselet drop to the ground, one by one (16.801 804). Similarly, here, Andromache s diadem, ... Ever since Charles Darwin s On the Origin of Species was first published in 1859, the debate between those that believe life was brought into existence by supernatural means and those who believe in Darwin s theory of evolution has been fierce. Each side presents compelling arguments that may sway any uneducated reader to agree with their position based solely on the confidence they portray in their writings. However, because of the vastness and strength of evidence presented by the proponents of modern evolutionary theory, Darwinists have proved their point much greater than those who argue in favor of Intelligent Design. The proposed system will have control of various appliances that are available in the home. It manages household loads according to their predefined priority and guarantees the total household power consumption below certain levels. The home energy management system will receive the demand response from the utility side. The goal of the system is to encourage the consumer to use less energy during peak hours or to move the time of energy use to off peak times such as nighttime and weekends. Thus the high peak to average ratio (PAR) of power will be avoided and also we adopt real time pricing. The utility company use real time dynamic pricing to coordinate demand responses to the benefit of the overall system. Hence for this purpose we need to measure the power consumed by the various appliances that are available in the home. • 39. Analysis Of Norman Mailer s The Naked And The Dead Essay In this excerpt of Norman Mailer s The Naked and the Dead, the story follows an interaction between General Cummings and his aide Robert Hearn. In their confrontation, Hearn mocks the legitimacy of Cummings s authority as general. Cummings does his best to assert himself, but he realizes that his power is illegitimate. In examining this conflict, Mailer s story covers important sociological concepts, including the characterization of symbolism, legitimacy of rational authority, the looking glass self, the idea of communion, conflict theory, dominance, anomie, mores, and the power hierarchy. Symbols transcend objective significance, as their importance comes from the ideas associated with them. As Emile Durkheim says in his essay, Sacred Objects as Symbols, ...the sacred character assumed by an object is not implied in the intrinsic properties of this latter: it is added to them ( Sacred Objects as Symbols ). This idea becomes apparent in Cummings s appalled reaction to seeing the cigarette butt and match mashed into the floor. Although seemingly inconsequential, Cummings views the cigarette butt mashed into the floor as a sign of disrespect to his authority. In his essay, Legitimate Order and Types of Authority, Max Weberdiscusses the idea of legitimacy: a public respect for and acceptance of power that is based on tradition, rationality, or charismatic traits of the leader. Further, Weber comments on the efficacy of deviance to curb these types of legitimacy, For so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At Bartlett High School on November 3, 2017, I watched a play called Fools by Neil Simon.
