Why Is American Samoa s Unhealthy Culture
In contrast, American Samoa is the country with the highest obesity rate, with 74.9% of the total
population classified as obese. The country has cultivated an unhealthy culture. Since most healthy
and natural ingredients are imported from other countries to the island, they are often more expensive.
Fast food restaurants offer cheaper, more easily accessible alternatives. In addition, the traditional
foods of the islands such as fresh fish, meat, and local fruits and vegetables have been replaced by
rice, sugar, flour, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, soft drinks and beer. The diet is high in
calories and with little nutritional value. According to cdc.gov, research shows that actions to promote
healthy eating, such as providing calorie information, were rare among restaurants. This site ... Show

However, in both grocery and convenience stores, several of the healthier option items were more
expensive than the corresponding regular (less healthy) option items. The majority of both providers
also had signs/displays that encouraged less healthy eating (e.g., promotional signs encouraging
purchase of canned corned beef). In addition, costs of healthier items were more expensive than less
healthy items in American Samoa restaurants. Healthier entrées and side items were more expensive
than the less healthy entrées and side items. There were also minimal efforts to promote healthy
eating, such as providing calorie or other nutrition information, identifying healthy items with menu
labeling on menus, and having menu notations that encourage healthy requests. The absence of
government intervention, regulation, and public awareness in relation to the rate of obesity and levels
of nutrition suggests a correlation between the efforts of food providers and healthy

Analysis Of The Ocean At The End Of The Lane
The Ocean at the End of the Lane, written by Neil Gaiman, was awarded a National Book Award in
2014. This novel delves deep into a childhood story recalled from memory. It explains and discovers
the life of a boy as he undergoes significant changes and realizations throughout his life. Throughout
much of the novel, the narrator finds his safety in the Hempstocks home as they shield him from
Ursula and the portals to the supernatural world. The novel explores the idea of liminal spaces and
how the narrator is constantly trapped between the familiar and the complete unknown. Ursula begins
to bring the supernatural world into the narrator s life. Throughout The Ocean at the End of the Lane,
Gaiman explores the life of a young boy who is constantly battling the supernatural world. The
narrator discovers gates and portals that either shield him from danger or expose him to the
supernatural world and all it holds. The narrator grew up lonely, he never had any friends, he was not
outgoing, and he found solemn and comfort in reading books. In the beginning of the novel, the
narrator begins to identify himself with his childhood and how he grew up. The Hempstock women
become a shield for the narrator as he tries to defend himself from the ever changing supernatural
world. The narrator no longer feels safe and secure within his own house and his own family and he
turns to the Hempstocks for safety, I wished my parents would send Ursula Monkton away, and then I

Eternal Punishment vs. Universalism and Annihilationism
Christians throughout the world profess to serve a merciful and loving God. And indeed, many
Christians have experience this love and mercy first hand throughout their lives. Those outside the
religion, however, have leveled several criticisms against it, one of which is the idea of eternal
punishment and how Christians could possibly promote the idea of a loving God on the same level as
a deity who would eternally and painfully punish those who committed a crime no greater than not
believing in him in a very specific way. My personal view is, however, of a God who is indeed
merciful and just. Those who would see souls cast into eternal punishment, in my experience, have all
been human who claimed to understand the mind of God. On the other hand, critics who would
criticize God for such a harsh punishment are equally in ignorance of a mind of the divine. Eternal
punishment is the most traditional view held by most Christians. It dictates that all who die not
believing in God (or Christ as Savior) will be cast, with the Antichrist, into an eternal lake of fire. This
is the main point of contention usually raised by non Christians such as Pinnock against the religion.
The Universalist view is, however, is that all people who died, even those who died not believing, will
ultimately be brought back to eternal life. A third group are the an nihilists, who believe that those
who die without Christ will be completely annihilated in soul and body, which refers to the eternal

Land reform: involves the changing of laws, regulations or customs regarding land ownership. Land
reform may consist of government initiated or government backed property redistribution, generally of
agricultural land. Land reform can, therefore, refer to transfer of ownership from the more powerful to
the less powerful, such as from a relatively small number of wealthy owners with extensive land
holdings such as plantations, large ranches, or agribusiness plots to individual ownership by those who
work the land (Rosegrant Hazell 2000).
Land reform may also entail the transfer of land from individual ownership even peasant ownership in
smallholdings to government owned collective farms; it has also, in other times and places, referred to
the exact opposite: division of government owned collective farms into smallholdings. For example, in
Zimbabwe this process of land reform is in progress whereby the government is take land to the white
and gives it to the black native Zimbabwean and the government is trying to do this to make sure that
poor people do have land to cultivate hence reducing poverty since the large area of land was
controlled by the whites.
Another issue is of land tenure reform which is also under the same land reform program. Land tenure
is system how land is owned. It is important for the government to put policies

Energy and Human Beings in Ancient Times
Introduction
Energy and human beings in ancient times:
In ancient times human muscles and animals were the primary source of energy. Man utilized this type
of energy into his daily life activities by producing more work with least amount of human effort and
time. So this form of energy was used in preparing weapons and other human controlled hearths to
change the form of other metals for its use. Energy can be transformed from one form to another that
can be either used for beneficent or destruction purpose. Greeks also completed their energy
requirement from sun light. The ancient Greeks used the solar energy not only for domestic purpose
but they used it as a weapon of mass destruction. They used great mirrors on their harbor to reflect the
sunlight on enemy wooden ships to burn their sails. Form Of Energy :
Energy is defined as ability of body to do work is called energy.
Energy can be measured in the following units.

I m Considering Becoming A Sports Fan
We come across many different cultures and fashion in our society. Some may indicate that the culture
influences one s fashion while others may oppose and state that each aspect stands alone. Fashion and
culture fall into the following identity categories: chosen and assigned. Culture affects many parts of
an individual, in some cases you can determine an individual s culture by their speech and clothing; in
addition to traditions and the environment in which they were raised. Whereas fashion may be
impacted by culture and tradition, but it may also not interact with culture at all.
When it came to Arab culture there were many restrictions and less freedom with appearance and
fashion. Even though the Arab culture may have many restrictions when it came to fashion it has been
modernized. The Arab culture prohibits a few dress codes that may be considered norm in American
culture. As an individual who grew up in an Arab culture household you have to adapt to the culture
and rituals. Just as Andy Hinds mentioned in his article, I m considering Becoming a Sports Fan How
Do I Pick a Team? In both of these exchanges, I had that old familiar feeling of not having a clue
about something that was supposed to be important to me as an American male. It may also prohibit
multiple actions that may be dealt and interpreted in other cultures in a different way. Arab culture is
made up of hundreds of years old traditions. Many fashion styles are considered disintegrating in the

Significance Of Magna Charta
Magna Charta is a Great Charter agreed by King John of England in 1215. It was an important symbol
of political freedom. Charter became a part of English political life but after English Parliament
passed new laws, it lost its significance. After hundreds years Magna Carta was used by Parliament to
protect itself from a powerful king. It gave no real freedom to the majority of people in England.
Magna Charta was a peace treaty between the King and the rebel barons. The nobles wrote it and
forced King John to sign it. They wanted to be sure that John didn t go beyond his rights as feudal
lord. Magna Charta established common laws which replaced the old feudal rules. Common law
applies to everyone without exception. In its original form Magna ... Show more content on

inequalities between men and women, and in particular the way women played a very limited part in
public affairs. In Charter there are given the names of 34 men. Three women are mentioned: John s
queen, and the sisters of King Alexander II of Scotland. We see in this articles that barons wanted to

between the king of England and the nobles. Kings were rulers of the whole country in the feudal
system. The lords were the vassals of the kings. It was also a way to see who had what power and end
the power struggles. Four original 1215 copies of Magna Charta still survive; one in Salisbury

Hinduism Religion
Considering that Hinduism lacks a uniting belief system, what makes up the Hindu religion is
Sanarana Dharma, which is also known as Hinduism, an alternative label that is preferred today.
Hinduism is the traditional religion of India. Sanatan Dharma is one of the oldest religions known to
mankind and Hinduisms religion is still in practice today. The spiritual expressions of Sanatana
Dharma range from extreme asceticism to the extreme sensuality, from the heights of personal
devotion to a deity to the heights of abstract philosophy (Fisher, M.P., 2005). Hinduism have been able
to hold itself together for several years; Hinduism is still one of the major religions in the world, so,
the factor that it is more than a way of life, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another belief is that though Hindu mythology mentions a class of evil beings, opposed to the
celestial spirits, essential Hindu philosophy does not believe in any concept of a central Devil or
Satan. This does not mean that all the evil in the world is attributed to God, but that the evil deed is
ascribed to human ignorance (Fisher, M. P., 2005). These actions determine the course of life and the
life cycle for the soul in its subsequent life. Virtuous actions take the soul closer to the Supreme
Divine, and lead to a birth with higher consciousness. Evil actions hinder this recognition of the
Supreme Divine, and the soul takes lower forms of worldly life. All existence, according to Hinduism,
from vegetation to mankind, is subjects to the eternal Dharma, which is the natural law

A Separate Peace Summary
A SEPARATE PEACE SUMMARY
A Separate Peace begins when the narrator Gene Forrester returns to New Hampshire where he went
to Devon school 15 years ago with his friend Phineas. The story shifts back 15 years to when Gene
and Phineas went to school. At the time lonely, and Phineas was the handsome, taunting daredevil
athlete. One during school Phineas had an idea to climb a very tall tree, and jump from the tree into a
river. Gene was eventually shamed into jumping. Gene was surprised of the outcome of the jump.

Phineas expresses a desire to see Gene succeed. Gene decides to jump of the tree again with Phineas,
when they got to the top of the tree, Gene loses balance which caused the tree to shake, and caused
Phineas to fall off. That fall ended Phineas athletic career, and Gene felt a great deal of guilt. Gene
goes to confess to Phineas that he purposely made him fall, but Phineas refuses to believe that. Gene
goes back to school, and tries to avoid any athletic activity. World War II was in full operation and all
the boys at Devon school are eager to enlist. Phineas does not plan to enlist into the military because
of his injuries, but he expects Gene to take his place as the schools athlete of the year. Gene, and
Phineas had a disagreement. Gene believes that sports are no longer important while the war takes
place. Phineas believes that the war keeps young men from experiencing older authorities. Gene trains
for the 1944 Olympics in place of Phineas. During this time Gene gets a telegram message from Leper
Lepellier. Leper was the first one in their class to enlist. The message says that he has escaped, and
needs Gene to come to his home in Vermont. Gene goes to Vermont, but only to see that Leper has
gone mad. Leper believes that Gene was responsible for Phineas accident, so does there classmate

Comparison Of Bluffing And The Painted Door
Often times in relationships people tend to drift apart from each other due to their inability to be
committed to each other for an extended period of time. Liam and Gabriella from the short story
Bluffing by Gail Helgason demonstrate their incompetence to maintain a full commitment to one
another, which results in Gabriella realizing that her relationship with Liam has come to a fork in the
road. Liam has to choose between her, and his hiking career. Whereas John and Ann from the short
story The Painted Door by Sinclair Ross exhibit their ability to stay together as well as be
understanding, truthful, and communicative with one another. They have all the fundamental keys to a
healthy relationship.

John and Ann are able to display this through their thoughts and actions. For instance, John was being
truthful when he told Ann that he would come home through the terrible storm. Before they were
married no matter how [hard] it stormed, [he came] twice a week...[he] never missed (Ross 226). This
exemplifies the fact that John was being truthful when he told Ann that he would come home to her
whether she believed him or not. Ann was being truthful about how she felt after she had an affair
with Steven. She realized that she made a terrible mistake and she would try and make amends (243)
with John. Before Ann slept with Steven she felt lonely and desperate for more companionship, but
afterwards it was clear that she knew now John was the man(243) that she wanted to spend the rest of
her life with. Although John and Ann are able to be truthful to each other, Liam and Gabriella have
trouble with the task. For instance, when Gabriella proposed the idea of a hike she camouflaged her
true intentions. She wanted to talk to Liam about the lease, so she d called it one last outing before the
snow comes (Helgason 1). She wanted to make him realize that he has great terrain for hiking right
where he is, and that they have a life in Jasper. Because of her insecurities, she wanted to make certain
that he was not going to leave. Also, Gabriella was not truthful about

1.1Purchase Intention . Purchase Intention Is Defined By
1.1 Purchase Intention
Purchase intention is defined by Shan et al. (2012) as a kind of decision making that emphasises
consumers reasons to buy a particular brand.
Mosinez et al. (2007) states that it is a situation where consumers tend to buy certain products under
certain conditions. Similarly, Gogoi (2013) recognises that both internal and external motivations
influence purchase intention. However it could be argued that all of these aspects are determined by
perceived value, as Liu et al. (2013) claims that purchase intention may be changed under the
influence of perceived value, as it is a key point for consumers to assess and evaluate specific
products.
1.2 Perceived Value
Perceived value has been widely discussed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ECSI (European Customer Satisfaction Index) model divides common factors of perceived value
into four main elements: Image, Expectation, Perceived Quality of Hardware (tangible aspects), and
Perceived Quality of Humanware (affective aspects) (Martensen et al., 1999; Gronholdt et al., 2000).
It claims that perceived value consequently results in satisfaction and loyalty, however, Ziniel (2013) s
graphical model links perceived value directly to purchase intention. Ziniel (2013) also claims that
perceived quality directly influences perceived value, focusing on human ware (brand) and hardware
(price) aspects. His emphasis on the work of Richardson et al. (1996) and Sweeney et al. (1999)
indicates the strong positive relationship between perceived value and purchase intention which forms
the basis of his research model and is used here to extend the ECSI model. 1.1.1 Image
Existing literature has covered several aspects of image referring to both tangible and intangible
components (Mazurssky and Jacob, 1986). Functional Image (Dempsey, 2004) refers to the tangible
aspects such as product quality and price. Affective image is linked to intangible aspects such as brand
personality (Aaker, 1996; Mazursky and Jacoby, 1986), associations in memory (Keller, 1993),
consumer emotions (Faircloth et al, 2001; Rossiter and Bellman, 2012), and reputation (Gossi and

The Pros And Cons Of Aneuploidy Testing
Chromosome aneuploidies are common genetic defects that can lead to diseases such as Down
syndrome. Current methods of aneuploidy testing exist, primarily in the form of chorionic villus
sampling or amniocentesis. Although precise, these tests are invasive and may result in intrauterine
infection and miscarriage.
Of recent, fetal genetic material, found in maternal blood, has been used to screen for fetal aneuploidy
in high risk women. This allows a potentially safe and easy means for detecting chromosomal
abnormalities during pregnancy by means of a simple blood draw. However, limitations of cell free
DNA screening performance creates issues for expecting parents. Failure of cell free DNA screening
ranges from approximately 1% to 8% and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maternal mosaicism, undetected tumors, the vanishing twin syndrome, and confined placental
mosaicism, as well as technical errors, are possible causes of NIPS false positive results. However,
correct identification of the causes and eliminating the false positives of NIPS may improve the PPV.
Using MPSS with GC sequence bias corrections, the authors developed a wide separation of Z score
thresholds for affected and unaffected pregnancies. Affected pregnancies had a Z score 8 and
unaffected pregnancies had a Z score 4. Further investigation led to the correct identification of the
abnormality due to maternal microduplications and global maternal copy number variation. Although
rare, these causes for NIPS false positive results could be identified using the new detection screen
and improve the PPV.
Unfortunately, the authors report that 10% of the women in the trial that received positive NIPS results
for trisomy 21 elected to terminate the pregnancies without confirmation by amniocentesis. They
remark that biological and technical issues can still account for false positive results and that NIPS
should remain a screening test

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder In Combat Veterans
To effectively treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD in combat Veterans and service members,
therapists use different techniques, which are preceded by addressing any underlying pain associated
with the disorder. In their research, Chard et al. (2011) reported significant modifications to the CPT
protocol for use with patients in a TBI PTSD residential treatment facility, including increasing the
number of sessions per week, combining group and individual therapy, and augmenting the treatment
with cognitive rehabilitation. However, their research was marred with the use of few participants

Their research, however, does not provide many references to support the study. Levi, Bar‐Haim,
Kreiss and Fruchter (2016) provide effective psychotherapy approaches for treating combat veterans
with chronic post traumatic stress disorder, which they show their efficacy with a great deal of
support. The research is more comprehensive than most studies as it provides an assessment of the
psychiatric status at baseline, post treatment and 8 12 months follow up using the Clinician
Administered PTSD Scale, the PTSD Questionnaire, the Montgomery and Asberg Depression Rating
Scale and the Psychotherapy Outcome Assessment and Monitoring System Trauma Version
assessment questionnaire. However, the researchers did not conduct randomized controlled trials to
determine treatment efficacy. Litz et al., (2009) added to the research on the treatment of PTSD by
stimulating a critical examination of moral injury. The study makes use of the available literature and
offers a working conceptual framework and a set of intervention strategies designed to repair moral
injury, which is a strength also evident in Peterson et al. (2011). Lunney, Schnurr and Cook, (2014)
compared the severity of PTSD symptoms in treatment seeking older and younger U.S. veterans with
PTSD. The study uses a wide number of participants, which provides credibility to the research and
can be relied upon on information regarding the effective treatment of PTSD. The researchers

The Negative Effects Of Television And Video Game Violence
On average, an American encounters approximately 200,000 violent acts before the age of eighteen.
However, these exposures do not influence an individual to exhibit violence. Concerns regarding
whether television and video game brutality has a negative effect on the public by promoting cruelty,
dates back to the 1950 s and is still prevalent today. Studies and research conducted on the issue are
unable to prove that the two variables have any correlation to each other. In fact, statistics demonstrate
how the amount of violent crimes has decreased significantly throughout time, despite the growing
video game popularity. Lastly, in society, people look for anything to transfer the blame, especially in
regards to a situation that may threaten an individual s community. As a matter of fact, by reviewing
the extensive research the conclusion was drawn stating, exposure has no effect on barbarity.
Therefore, television and video game ferocity does not have a negative effect on the population.
Studies and research conducted on the issue is irrelevant. Specifically, the studies conducted fail to
assess accurate information essential in the process of proving cause and effect. Not to mention,
previous studies that revealed a link between the two factors only focused on short term effects and
did not take other factors into account. In reality, children get riled up over images they may see and
are likely to act out for a short period of time. However, this does not prove overall

Most major sites have expertise in the area they talk about and will back up their claims with quotes
from highly regarded professionals. As a result of the heavy social media usage among the upcoming
generation combined with the fact that large quantities of people gather their information from these
social media sites, it is imperative that the issue of fake news is addressed. The social media platform
is the ideal breeding grounds for fake news since information can be spread with the click of a button
with little to no fact checking. The reader must remember that fake news exists solely to provoke a
response and if the material seems outlandish or impractical, then it probably is. One way to address
the growing problem is to question what we read. We should get in the habit of comparing the
information provided to other sources to see if the facts line up. Also, Melissa Zimdars offers solid
advice by assessing the domain. Information from washigntonpost.com.co, NBCnews.com.co.
ABCnews.com.co, UnderGroundNewsReport.com, nationalreport.net, and many others are fake news.
Lastly, becoming aware with the more common fake news sites is another way to combat spreading of
fake news. By doing so, one can start reporting the fake news to the social media administrator and
blocking further information from those sites. If we can all make an effort to question the sources and
information we read then we can take the

1. ¿Cuánto debemos gastar en TI?
2. ¿Qué procesos de negocios deben recibir nuestros ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Symbolism of the Purse in Theft by Katherine Anne Porter
The purse in Katherine Anne Porters short story, Theft , is linked to several episodes and in each event
reveals the main character s inner personality. The first episode is her encounters with three men. The
second event is the theft of her purse. Lastly, the protagonist confronts the thief. In each episode the
main character displays her intimate personality.
After an afternoon cocktail party, a Latin man named Camilo escorts her to the subway station through
the rain. Camilo makes several gracious gestures to try and pay for her, but she refuses, as she is afraid
he may fall on the rainy steps when returning. She states that he made an effort to small courtesies but
ignored the larger and more troublesome ones. Here we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She then makes reference to a letter that had made her mind up for her. This indicates that she knows
she is indecisive. Roger comments on her beautiful purse and she responds that is was a birthday
present and that she likes it. Here we see she is proud to own something that someone else admires.
Her third encounter is with a man with whom she wrote an act for one of his plays. He complains
about his financial situation and shows her the new rug he bought. She then starts thinking of her
empty purse and how he owes her fifty dollars for the act she wrote for him. He downplays her writing
and says her stuff was no better than mine, and she says, let it go. Later we see that she is used to
letting things go.
The next event is the theft of her purse. While she is in the bathtub the janitress knocks and comes in,
needing to inspect the radiators. When she gets out of the bathtub to get a cigarette from her purse, it is
gone. She knows that the janitress has taken the purse. Her purse made of gold cloth symbolizes all
property. The purse represents the difference between the haves and the have nots. As she is going
over whether or not to confront the thief she thinks it would cause a great deal of ridiculous
excitement. She again decides to let it go.
With let it go in mind, one may believe that blew the lid off the kettle. She decides to confront the
thief and when the janitress

A Brief Note On Concentration Of Protein And Number Of...
4. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The Table 1 shows the main results obtained by Method 1 (Full recycle with addition of protein). As it
is possible to see, this experiment was carried out in duplicate. In the first run, it was made 3 recycles,
and during the second run, it was carried out 2 recycles. The data of protein concentration in function
of the number of recycles was plotted on a graph.
Table 1: Results obtained by the full recycle with addition of protein
Run Recycle Total protein used (%) Protein added (g) Protein used per recycle (%) Concentration (%
w/v)
1 0 32.0 20.0 32.0 3.1
1 1 44.4 7.2 12.4 4.1
1 2 62.8 9.6 18.4 3.6
1 3 95.8 5.3 33.0 2.4
2 0 44.4 24.42 44.4 2.1
2 1 74.6 12.08 30.2 3.4
2 2 92.7 4.53 18.1 3.7
Figure 9: Concentration of protein versus number of recycles Method 1 Analyzing the data of
concentration, it was obtained two opposite answers. In the first experiment, the concentration
decreased along the recycles, while in the second experiment, the concentration raised. So, these
results are not totally conclusive. More experiments should be carried out in order to check the
repeatability of the data.
However, it is expected the second run represents the real behavior of the process. During the
reutilization of the solution, the process efficiency supposes to be lower as it is made new recycles due
to the low quality of the remaining protein solution. If the process efficiency is reducing, it means that
the concentration is increasing.

The Case Of Young Sandy
In the case of young Sandy there are many things that need to be taken into consideration when
planning on how to deal with his case. There are many factors that need to be understood about his
case and these factors need to be dealt with on in depth level to truly understand what will be the best
course of action for his future treatment, whether that will be going to a young offenders institution or
other forms of rehabilitation.
From a young age Sandy never had a stable childhood, coming from a deprived area of the city, which
had high levels of crime and low levels of employed citizens in the area. As expected in such areas of
a city, living there can cause a negative up bringing for any child that lives there and Sandy is no
exception to this. To start off with Sandy s Father was never around when he was younger, as he was
constantly in and out of prison as his son was growing up. This meant that Sandy never had a positive
male role model growing up as he lived with his grandmother. Looking into Sutherland, Parson and
Cohen s sex role theory (Sutherland (1947), Parson (1937) and Cohen (1955, cited in Walklate, 2007,
pg 91 93)) you could explain that as a result of Sandy having no masculine role model in his life and
only have a female role model. Which would only give him a tender and gentle influence in his life
and he would ve felt conflicted in his upbringing and would assume an attitude opposite to that of his
female role model and would become masculine by

Indie Rock Research Paper
Indie and Alternative Rock Generation Z to Generation Y is fueled by indie/alternative rock. These
generations were raised during the beginning of alternative music. The style of indie and alternative
music helped form these generations and represent how they act today. Music affects generations in
every way possible. Generations Y and Z are very diverse compared to the other generations. These
generations could be more diverse because of the music that influenced them throughout their lives.
Alternative and Indie music began in the early 80 s and late 70 s. The rise of Indie music was inspired
by the underground punk rock scene. Alt/indie didn t become popular until the 90 s because it was so
underground and unheard of. The musicians were called alternative because they were independent
and unsigned artists. Today Indie rock is still not as popular as mainstream artists. Alternative
musicians stick to their roots and remain underground. The future of alternative music is looking
bright. With more artists making alternative music the genre is becoming more popular. The sub
genres of alternative and indie music is what truly forms the genre as a whole. Indie rock is a term that
represents artists who remain unsigned to major record labels. Punk rock is very similar to indie rock
but it is more intense. Grunge is a genre that began in the 90 s and is a perfect combination of indie
and punk rock bands. Grunge bands are just as intense as punk ... Show more content on

region, Europe and Central Asia region, Middle East region, and Asia and Pacific region. The
principles enunciated in the first Geneva Convention were subsequently revised and amended at
conferences held in 1906, 1929, and 1949 (Smith, 2000). Regional segmentation is followed by

Sammy as a Representation of a Misunderstood Generation in...
John Updike presents us in his story A P, through Sammy s actions, the protest of young and
misunderstood generation which he sees in his story, as rebellious and visionless by older generation
for which all that does not obey to society s standards is unusual, unaccepted, and accentuated by the
fineness of details and nuances, a deep insight intuition of choosing revealing moments of 1960 s, in
which sexuality was taboo. With this Updike is announcing a big change in the culture, and of the
times that he noticed it as such, expressing better through his writing, and presenting Sammy his
protagonist which wants to be noticed along with signs of anxiety and insecurities, but follows his
instincts which are recorded in a universe where his actions are completely different from what other
aspects, bringing into focus the originality of character. In A P we can see through John Updike s
description each feeling Sammy, a 19 year old, has which is working in a market store. He lives in a
small town, having a quiet life and a future that was not offering many opportunities, but along with
the arrival in store of the young barefoot girls which were wearing only bathing swims, he starts
having all the mix feelings. The sexuality that promoted by the young girls outfit was not welcome in
the setting of A P, and against the policy store, even though the girls were focused only of what they
come to buy, without any purpose of attracting other people s attention. The girls

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Multiplier
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Multipliers play a key role in many high performance systems. As the technology advances, the
demand of high speed digital systems increases or we can say the demand of high speed multiplier
increases because the multiplier is a main component in every digital system. Multipliers are used as
small blocks in large digital systems like FIR filters, microprocessors, digital signal processors,
communication systems etc. So to find performance of a large digital system is measured by the
performance of the multiplier because the multiplier is mainly the slowest element in the large
systems; consequently multiplication dominates the execution time of most DSP algorithms, so a high
speed multiplier is always required. As compared to other operations in an ALU, the multiplier also
uses more power. Thus scientists have always been trying to design a multiplier which utilizes less
power, time and area and increases speed. Multiplication is such a mathematical operation in which a
number i.e. multiplicand is added to itself a given number of times as indicated by another number i.e.
multiplier to form a result.
A digital circuit used to multiply two numbers is called a multiplier. Multiplication, as in mathematics,
consists of shifting and adding the partial products. The same concept is used here in digital
multipliers. For unsigned number multiplication, AND gates are utilized for ... Show more content on

Analysis Of Green Day By George W. Bush
Art is an essential form of protest in a time of crisis or for political or social reforms. George W. Bush
is one of the most controversial presidents in history and prompted some of the loudest outcries from
the public. The music world became very involved in this particular fight, many artists from multiple
generations and genres protested Bush. American Idiot by Green Day is one of the best examples and
the most well known protest of Bush and his administration. However, despite its popularity and
acclaim it did receive a lot of criticism. Going against such a powerful and influential person in
society, the band subjected themselves to the possibility of censorship by the media and accusations of
being unpatriotic. Another uproar was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Green Day felt the weight of the darkness that covered the country during Bush s first term...They
found a voice in an era that was disorienting for many (D Ambrosio, Green Day Never Gives Up ).
Although the album did not stop Bush s re election, it was both a harbinger and beneficiary of the
Bush administration s plummeting approval, selling steadily through 2005 (Pareles, Jon. The Morning
After American Idiot. ). American Idiot sold 267000 copies in the US and was number 1 on multiple
chains, like Billboard s top 100. It received the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2005,
Favorite Pop/Rock Album in 2005 at the American Music Awards, Best International Album in 2006
at the BRIT Awards, and won and was nominated for multiple other awards. The awards, critical
acclaim, and general popularity amongst the public shows that a quality record that contains a well
thought out message can still appeal to a broad market (Newman, A Smart Start For Green Day ).
Green Day maintains the idea of being punk insurgents, rebellious musicians who push boundaries
and more closely align with teenage angst rather than adults. In spite of their reputation, Green Day
was criticized by fans of going sappy, especially in regards Wake Me Up When September Ends
which was centered around the profound effect the death of his father had on Armstrong. In their video
for Wake Me Up When September Ends, Green Day exploits their watchers emotions to gain

Media Negatively Affects The Self Esteem And Body Image Of...
The media negatively affects the self esteem and body image of young girls. The media is known for
broadcasting thin models and not taking into consideration the affect that it could have on millions of
young women. When young girls see thin models that they aspire to be on TV increases their concerns
about their bodies and that causes young girls to develop eating disorders, such as excessive dieting,
bulimia and anorexia. It is very vital for every young girl to feel comfortable in her own skin and not
be influenced by what the media portrays. These young women should not let the media, such as
advertisements, cartoons, magazines, movies, and TV shows define their definition of beauty based on
what society says. The media negatively affects young girl s self esteem because when they are young
they tend to be more gullible to advertisements shown on TV. They notice the petite, perfect, models
and instantly want to become skinnier. Girls believe the lies on TV s and resort to unhealthy measures
to try to shape or fit themselves into the impossible perfect mold. The goal of being healthy and
skinny is no longer a priority, instead, the main priority is to become the media s self image. The
media puts so much pressure on young girls to look like the perfect image and it has a harmful effect
on the self esteem and body image of young girls. I think that the media suggests that appearance is
more important than personality. This statement is prime example of how the media

  • 2. Why Is American Samoa s Unhealthy Culture In contrast, American Samoa is the country with the highest obesity rate, with 74.9% of the total population classified as obese. The country has cultivated an unhealthy culture. Since most healthy and natural ingredients are imported from other countries to the island, they are often more expensive. Fast food restaurants offer cheaper, more easily accessible alternatives. In addition, the traditional foods of the islands such as fresh fish, meat, and local fruits and vegetables have been replaced by rice, sugar, flour, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, soft drinks and beer. The diet is high in calories and with little nutritional value. According to cdc.gov, research shows that actions to promote healthy eating, such as providing calorie information, were rare among restaurants. This site ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, in both grocery and convenience stores, several of the healthier option items were more expensive than the corresponding regular (less healthy) option items. The majority of both providers also had signs/displays that encouraged less healthy eating (e.g., promotional signs encouraging purchase of canned corned beef). In addition, costs of healthier items were more expensive than less healthy items in American Samoa restaurants. Healthier entrées and side items were more expensive than the less healthy entrées and side items. There were also minimal efforts to promote healthy eating, such as providing calorie or other nutrition information, identifying healthy items with menu labeling on menus, and having menu notations that encourage healthy requests. The absence of government intervention, regulation, and public awareness in relation to the rate of obesity and levels of nutrition suggests a correlation between the efforts of food providers and healthy ... • 3. Analysis Of The Ocean At The End Of The Lane The Ocean at the End of the Lane, written by Neil Gaiman, was awarded a National Book Award in 2014. This novel delves deep into a childhood story recalled from memory. It explains and discovers the life of a boy as he undergoes significant changes and realizations throughout his life. Throughout much of the novel, the narrator finds his safety in the Hempstocks home as they shield him from Ursula and the portals to the supernatural world. The novel explores the idea of liminal spaces and how the narrator is constantly trapped between the familiar and the complete unknown. Ursula begins to bring the supernatural world into the narrator s life. Throughout The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Gaiman explores the life of a young boy who is constantly battling the supernatural world. The narrator discovers gates and portals that either shield him from danger or expose him to the supernatural world and all it holds. The narrator grew up lonely, he never had any friends, he was not outgoing, and he found solemn and comfort in reading books. In the beginning of the novel, the narrator begins to identify himself with his childhood and how he grew up. The Hempstock women become a shield for the narrator as he tries to defend himself from the ever changing supernatural world. The narrator no longer feels safe and secure within his own house and his own family and he turns to the Hempstocks for safety, I wished my parents would send Ursula Monkton away, and then I would go down to the ... • 4. Eternal Punishment vs. Universalism and Annihilationism Christians throughout the world profess to serve a merciful and loving God. And indeed, many Christians have experience this love and mercy first hand throughout their lives. Those outside the religion, however, have leveled several criticisms against it, one of which is the idea of eternal punishment and how Christians could possibly promote the idea of a loving God on the same level as a deity who would eternally and painfully punish those who committed a crime no greater than not believing in him in a very specific way. My personal view is, however, of a God who is indeed merciful and just. Those who would see souls cast into eternal punishment, in my experience, have all been human who claimed to understand the mind of God. On the other hand, critics who would criticize God for such a harsh punishment are equally in ignorance of a mind of the divine. Eternal punishment is the most traditional view held by most Christians. It dictates that all who die not believing in God (or Christ as Savior) will be cast, with the Antichrist, into an eternal lake of fire. This is the main point of contention usually raised by non Christians such as Pinnock against the religion. The Universalist view is, however, is that all people who died, even those who died not believing, will ultimately be brought back to eternal life. A third group are the an nihilists, who believe that those who die without Christ will be completely annihilated in soul and body, which refers to the eternal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Land reform may consist of government initiated or government backed property redistribution, generally of agricultural land. Land reform can, therefore, refer to transfer of ownership from the more powerful to the less powerful, such as from a relatively small number of wealthy owners with extensive land holdings such as plantations, large ranches, or agribusiness plots to individual ownership by those who work the land (Rosegrant Hazell 2000). Land reform may also entail the transfer of land from individual ownership even peasant ownership in smallholdings to government owned collective farms; it has also, in other times and places, referred to the exact opposite: division of government owned collective farms into smallholdings. For example, in Zimbabwe this process of land reform is in progress whereby the government is take land to the white and gives it to the black native Zimbabwean and the government is trying to do this to make sure that poor people do have land to cultivate hence reducing poverty since the large area of land was controlled by the whites. Some may indicate that the culture influences one s fashion while others may oppose and state that each aspect stands alone. Fashion and culture fall into the following identity categories: chosen and assigned. Culture affects many parts of an individual, in some cases you can determine an individual s culture by their speech and clothing; in addition to traditions and the environment in which they were raised. Whereas fashion may be impacted by culture and tradition, but it may also not interact with culture at all. When it came to Arab culture there were many restrictions and less freedom with appearance and fashion. Even though the Arab culture may have many restrictions when it came to fashion it has been modernized. The Arab culture prohibits a few dress codes that may be considered norm in American culture. As an individual who grew up in an Arab culture household you have to adapt to the culture and rituals. Just as Andy Hinds mentioned in his article, I m considering Becoming a Sports Fan How Do I Pick a Team? In both of these exchanges, I had that old familiar feeling of not having a clue about something that was supposed to be important to me as an American male. Hinduism is the traditional religion of India. Sanatan Dharma is one of the oldest religions known to mankind and Hinduisms religion is still in practice today. The spiritual expressions of Sanatana Dharma range from extreme asceticism to the extreme sensuality, from the heights of personal devotion to a deity to the heights of abstract philosophy (Fisher, M.P., 2005). This exemplifies the fact that John was being truthful when he told Ann that he would come home to her whether she believed him or not. • 12. 1.1Purchase Intention . Purchase Intention Is Defined By 1.1 Purchase Intention Purchase intention is defined by Shan et al. (2012) as a kind of decision making that emphasises consumers reasons to buy a particular brand. Mosinez et al. (2007) states that it is a situation where consumers tend to buy certain products under certain conditions. Similarly, Gogoi (2013) recognises that both internal and external motivations influence purchase intention. However it could be argued that all of these aspects are determined by perceived value, as Liu et al. (2013) claims that purchase intention may be changed under the influence of perceived value, as it is a key point for consumers to assess and evaluate specific products. 1.2 Perceived Value Perceived value has been widely discussed, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ECSI (European Customer Satisfaction Index) model divides common factors of perceived value into four main elements: Image, Expectation, Perceived Quality of Hardware (tangible aspects), and Perceived Quality of Humanware (affective aspects) (Martensen et al., 1999; Gronholdt et al., 2000). It claims that perceived value consequently results in satisfaction and loyalty, however, Ziniel (2013) s graphical model links perceived value directly to purchase intention. Ziniel (2013) also claims that perceived quality directly influences perceived value, focusing on human ware (brand) and hardware (price) aspects. His emphasis on the work of Richardson et al. (1996) and Sweeney et al. (1999) indicates the strong positive relationship between perceived value and purchase intention which forms the basis of his research model and is used here to extend the ECSI model. 1.1.1 Image Existing literature has covered several aspects of image referring to both tangible and intangible components (Mazurssky and Jacob, 1986). Functional Image (Dempsey, 2004) refers to the tangible aspects such as product quality and price. Affective image is linked to intangible aspects such as brand personality (Aaker, 1996; Mazursky and Jacoby, 1986), associations in memory (Keller, 1993), consumer emotions (Faircloth et al, 2001; Rossiter and Bellman, 2012), and reputation (Gossi and ... Current methods of aneuploidy testing exist, primarily in the form of chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis. Although precise, these tests are invasive and may result in intrauterine infection and miscarriage. Of recent, fetal genetic material, found in maternal blood, has been used to screen for fetal aneuploidy in high risk women. This allows a potentially safe and easy means for detecting chromosomal abnormalities during pregnancy by means of a simple blood draw. However, limitations of cell free DNA screening performance creates issues for expecting parents. Failure of cell free DNA screening ranges from approximately 1% to 8% and ... Maternal mosaicism, undetected tumors, the vanishing twin syndrome, and confined placental mosaicism, as well as technical errors, are possible causes of NIPS false positive results. Using MPSS with GC sequence bias corrections, the authors developed a wide separation of Z score thresholds for affected and unaffected pregnancies. Affected pregnancies had a Z score 8 and unaffected pregnancies had a Z score 4. Further investigation led to the correct identification of the abnormality due to maternal microduplications and global maternal copy number variation. Although rare, these causes for NIPS false positive results could be identified using the new detection screen and improve the PPV. Unfortunately, the authors report that 10% of the women in the trial that received positive NIPS results for trisomy 21 elected to terminate the pregnancies without confirmation by amniocentesis. However, these exposures do not influence an individual to exhibit violence. Concerns regarding whether television and video game brutality has a negative effect on the public by promoting cruelty, dates back to the 1950 s and is still prevalent today. Studies and research conducted on the issue are unable to prove that the two variables have any correlation to each other. In fact, statistics demonstrate how the amount of violent crimes has decreased significantly throughout time, despite the growing video game popularity. Lastly, in society, people look for anything to transfer the blame, especially in regards to a situation that may threaten an individual s community. As a matter of fact, by reviewing the extensive research the conclusion was drawn stating, exposure has no effect on barbarity. Therefore, television and video game ferocity does not have a negative effect on the population. Studies and research conducted on the issue is irrelevant. Specifically, the studies conducted fail to assess accurate information essential in the process of proving cause and effect. • 30. Advantage And Disadvantage Of Multiplier 1.1 INTRODUCTION Multipliers play a key role in many high performance systems. As the technology advances, the demand of high speed digital systems increases or we can say the demand of high speed multiplier increases because the multiplier is a main component in every digital system. Multipliers are used as small blocks in large digital systems like FIR filters, microprocessors, digital signal processors, communication systems etc. So to find performance of a large digital system is measured by the performance of the multiplier because the multiplier is mainly the slowest element in the large systems; consequently multiplication dominates the execution time of most DSP algorithms, so a high speed multiplier is always required. As compared to other operations in an ALU, the multiplier also uses more power. Thus scientists have always been trying to design a multiplier which utilizes less power, time and area and increases speed. Multiplication is such a mathematical operation in which a number i.e. multiplicand is added to itself a given number of times as indicated by another number i.e. multiplier to form a result. A digital circuit used to multiply two numbers is called a multiplier. Multiplication, as in mathematics, consists of shifting and adding the partial products.
