Human beings usually depend on memory to accurately recall or describe the past events that have
happened. However, many researchers have shown that human memories can be imperfect and

There have been many articles published about the transformation of cities in regards to industrial
improvements, communities blooming with mass migrations, and standards of living. A number of
different cultures have migrated to rural and urban populations and among those mass migrations
there were African Americans. Although immigrants went through hardships such as harsh living
conditions and low status, they didn t have to go through as much trouble as African Americans
did. African Americans who moved into the city were not on top of the priority list to most. They
were not given the time of day to their needs. Race affected these urban dwellers because of
discrimination, living conditions, and inequality. The color of their skin, regardless of
abolishment of slavery and social and economic well being was the only obstacle they faced
every day to achieve the same opportunities as the whites did and other immigrants. George

A methodological framework was necessary to organise the project in a systematic and rigorous
way however this methodological framework must be underpinned by a conceptual framework
(Denscombe, 2010), which represents my preferred approach to this inquiry. This framework
supposes that firstly, metacognition holds lifelong value for the pupils and will improve their
enjoyment and achievement. And secondly, that my teaching can be improved by more inclusion

I considered using a case study approach to the research, which would provide deep understanding
to perceptions. It allows one aspect to be studied in depth (Bell, 2010) however this option was
dismissed as it did not allow for changes in practice and their evaluation. If I were to examine the
reasons for the decline in enjoyment of lessons from year 7 to year 8, a case study would be the
preferred mode of enquiry. I feel that action research is the most appropriate research methodology
as it allows changes in practice based on evidence gathered. It enhances the operation and
processes on a department or school backed by the collection of data (Denscombe, 2010). McNiff

Edgar Allan Poe and Nathaniel Hawthorne were writers of the American gothic genre. They both
used the elements of horror and mystery in their writing styles, writing about the dark side of

In this study, Nostoc muscorum, a native cyanobacterial species isolated from a ... Show more
ANOVA of the metalbioremoval revealed that the main (individual) effect due to the metals
were highly significant (P value 0.05) on each other removal. Student t test results revealed that
both Zn(II) and Pb(II) strongly inhibited Cu(II) removal (P value 0.01). Both these metals
(Zn(II) and Pb(II) similarly showed significant negative effect on Cd(II) removal (P value 0.02).
However, in case of Zn(II) removal, whereas Cu(II) slightly inhibited its removal (P value =
0.053), Pb(II) showed a highly significant negative effect (P value 0.001). Besides, Zn(II)
inhibited its own removal in the mixture. The latter observation was true for Pb(II) as well with a
P value of 0.001. All these results not only demonstrated a very good potential of the cyanobacteria
in bioremoval of these metals but also the effect of individual metals on each other removal in
mixture.
