High Degree Education Of Ceramic Art
River flows from the side of the hill named Xiangshan; Students work in the quiet garden view
campus, which the buildings there are decorated with historical ceramic tiles.
For students and teachers, having a chance to be in this cultural environment is a life s fortune.
Although today s social life is so different than the past, people are getting harder to focus on pure
academic research because of the distractions from daily affairs. Especially for higher degree students
that rely on independent research, which provides freedom, but also brings the problems of shallow
researches. Currently, the higher degree education in contemporary ceramic art of Asian should
construct its own value system that suits Eastern culture and aesthetic. The views of above aspects had
formed the exhibition s main concept.
The Asian art academies are facing the same situation in the higher degree education of ceramic art.
The day to day teaching needs new energy and clear direction; the homogeneity in teaching should be
avoided, and the lack of uniqueness should be made up. So, we need to focus on the root of problem
and plan ahead. The scholar Zhu Xi has asked in his book The Feeling Arisen By Reading: Asking
why the river is so clean; it is because the fresh water always comes from the fountainhead. It is
talking about the happening of developments need fresh ideas. The higher degree education of ceramic
art in Asian academies is like the river, and its developments need newer and update

Anarchist Terror
In the late Nineteenth Century, Europe, and to a more limited extent the United States, was beset by
various acts of terror perpetrated by people broadly identifying or identified as anarchists in some
form. While individual motives and ideologies often varied wildly from instance to instance of
anarchist terror, the anarchists (as well as more thoroughly derived utopian ideologues like socialists
and communists) were driven by desire to radically change the deplorable societal conditions facing
the masses of the working class poor. While many anarchists were not violent in nature, taking more
academic and traditional political routes in their quest for change, terrorists were prevalent among
those who fell under the anarchist umbrella, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously mentioned, the media of the time did their best to whip the public into an anti anarchist,
anti immigrant, and anti labor frenzy in the aftermath of the bombing. While public perception of the
labor movement immigrants both eventually recovered to some degree, the anarchist movement, in the
United States at least, was perpetually marred by this incident. Since the mainstream American media
was controlled by the very people the anarchists were devoted to removing from power, media
portrayal of anarchist acts was consistently, and overwhelmingly negative, in turn shaping public
opinion to be negative. This was not helped by anarchists propensity to keep committing the type of
acts that gets them such negative press, driving home the de legitimization of their motives and
ideology to the masses who, in order to be successful, need at least nominally receptive, if not
favorable to the anarchist

Edison Vs Nikola Tesla
Thomas Edison vs. Nikola Tesla: Who Was More Influential Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison made
major advancements in the field of electrical currents. But which inventor made the greatest
contributions to the industry? Tesla made inventions like the widely used alternating currents, radar
technology, and other crazy ideas such as a death beam. In comparison, Edison was successful with
using amazing direct currents, the useful phonograph and improved the stock ticker with his universal
stock printer. They were both famous inventors with very interesting backgrounds.
Nikola Tesla was born July 10, 1856 in the town of Smiljan, Croatia. He was one of five children.
According to Biography.com, Tesla got his inspiration from his mother, Djuka Mandic, who made
small household appliances in her spare time (Editors). Milutin Tesla, his father, wanted Nikola to be a
priest, but Nikola s interest was with science. He studied at Realschule, Karlstadt; Polytechnic
Institute in Graz, Austria: and the University of Prague (Editors). Later, he moved to Budapest and
worked at the Central Telephone Exchange. In 1884, Tesla moved to the United States to get a job at
Thomas Edison s company. He wanted to work with DC based electrical works, which were becoming

The Freedom And Full Citizenship Of All African Americans
Lincoln was elected president in 1860 and because of this the south seceded and formed the
confederate states of America. Shortly after, the civil war begun with the attack on fort Sumter and
more southern states seceded. During the civil war Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation that
freed all the slaves in the states that seceded, this was the first step to the freedom and full citizenship
of all African Americans. During the time of the civil war and reconstruction period constitutional and
social developments moderately influenced a revolution. The 13th 15th amendments influenced
constitutionally. Socially, Freedmen s Bureau, Ku Klux Klan and Jim Crow laws countervailed a
revolution.
Constitutional developments influenced a revolution because of 13th 15th amendments, these
amendments freed all slaves, gave African Americans civil rights and the right to vote. The fight for
the 13th amendment up roared after uncle toms cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Uncle tom s cabin
showed the horrific truths about slavery and how slaves were treated badly. This turned many people
against slavery and influenced them to fight for the freedom of slaves. Most people wanted the
abolishment of slavery but knew that when slaves were freed that they would want civil rights and
voting rights. Although the federal government was strong enough to free the slaves they were not
strong enough to protect African American voting rights (doc C). This was revolutionary because for

The Mistreatment Of The Zeitoun Family
Renowned journalist and author, Dave Eggers, in his famed novel, Zeitoun, recounts the mistreatment
of the Zeitoun family in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina based on their racial and religious profiles
in a post 9/11 America. His purpose is to reveal the unwarranted injustices faced by Muslim American
Hurricane Katrina victims through a description of the Zeitoun family s experiences, in order to
educate his readers of the impact discrimination has on emergency response. Eggers adopts a
sympathetic tone towards the protagonists as they fall victim to the government s unpreparedness, and
maintains a critical tone to address the American government s failure in protecting the rights of the
hurricane s victims. Eggers employs logos to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
. . other agencies . . . [that] were involved (307), especially paranoia regarding Islamist terrorists from
the 9/11 attack, resulted in the systematic search to incarcerate Muslims like Zeitoun. As a result,
when Zeitoun is about to enter Camp Greyhound and questions a passing soldier why he and his
friends have been arrested, the soldier replies, You guys are Al Qaeda (212), concurring with the
MSSTs purpose of apprehending potential members of major terrorist groups. Obviously, this is not a
rational reason for an arrest, as the men have done nothing illegal. Eggers uses this appeal to authority
(through the quote of a soldier actively participating in the situation) to underline just how much more
of a role race and religion play in Hurricane Katrina s law enforcement than actual criminal behavior.
Zeitoun s only crime is being Arab and believing in Allah in a time when Islamophobia is rampant,
reasons that do not justify the mistreatment he suffers during the next couple of weeks as a supposed
terrorist. Therefore, through the inclusion of credible evidence and quotes, Eggers successfully
harnesses logos to affirm the unmerited racial and religious injustices that Zeitoun faces during and
after his arrest, simply because he is a Middle Eastern, Muslim man. Besides logical appeal, Eggers
also uses stark juxtaposition in his writing, in order to draw attention to the injustices that the Zeitoun
family faces. To depict their life before Hurricane

Horace Miner s Body Ritual Among The.
Prompt #1 Horace Miner s Body Ritual Among the Nacirema was a very entertaining essay. The essay
made made fun of American culture without directly stating the name of the culture, other than
including the word American spelled backwards. Miner bring to the readers attention the odd rituals
practiced in America that the normal citizen would not find strange at all. However, by presenting his
essay in the this form he shows how strange American customs are from the view of someone in a
different country. Miner begins his essay by describing the American culture as if it were a tribe.
Although he does so secretly, Horace Miner does state that the tribe is located between Canada and
Mexico. He then states that they have an a developed market, yet they re main concern is on the body.
He then goes on to talk about the ritual areas in the homes on the Nacirema people, bathrooms, where
the people practice they re odd rituals. He does not use direct terms for the medicine men, nor any of
the other physicians that are seen in the daily lives of American people. Miner continues this process
while only leaving slight hints. Horace Miner does a terrific job in this satire. Once view of this paper
is noticed, the reader can be entertained by the mysterious ways of the Nacerima people. This essay
has brought attention to the ways of American culture, which is not only infomative but very

Natural and Sexual Selection of Vestigial and Wild Type...
Natural and Sexual Selection of Vestigial and Wild Type Drosophila melanogaster
Abstract
In this experiment, vestigial flies as well as wild type flies were used to create some diversity as well
as test one of our hypotheses. Our hypotheses are as follows; 1) The wild type flies will have a greater
relative fitness compared to the vestigial flies based on only sexual selection. The wild type has a
relative fitness of 1 since it has fully functional wings. Vestigial Winged flies are not as sexually
appealing since their wings are not functional and the wing movement is a vital part of their mating
ritual. 2) The vestigial fly will have a greater relative fitness when considering both sexual and natural
selection. With the presence of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the presence of natural selection (fly paper hanging from top of cage) posing a larger threat to
the wild flies b/c they can fly better, this will allow vestigial flies to prosper better.
Materials and Methods
To set up this experiment, two twenty five gallon aquariums, 3 petri dishes, 200 flies, rotten bananas,
and yeast were used. The bananas chosen to be an accelerant for the growth of the yeast and were
frozen so they would be easier to cut. The yeast was used because the drosophila melanogaster prefer
this as a food source. The vestigial and wild type flies were sexed (to determine their sex), sorted, and
counted. An initial population size of 100 total flies was decided so that it would be easier to
determine the phenotypic percentage of the total population. Fly paper was placed in one of the sets of
cages to impose a method of natural selection as well as the sexual selection which is being solely
tested by the other set of cages.
It was decided that there would be 80 vestigial flies and 20 wild type flies to total to an initial
population of 100 drosophila. Next, the flies were anesthetized flies using Fly Nap. The flies were
counted out to reach desired ratio, sexing the flies making sure there are equal amounts of males and
females to be sure there is ample individuals to allow successful mating. The fly s food was prepared
by taking a frozen rotten banana, cutting it in half, mashing up the banana meat, and mixing yeast into
it. The

Predicting Volcanic Eruptions
Predicting when a volcano will erupt is a tricky and complex process. There are a multitude of signals
that will be given off indicating that an eruption is imminent. Sometimes the predicting behaviors will
not lead to an eruption, however. A.M. Sparks states that it is important to first understand the
properties of a volcano and it s processes in order to create an accurate prediction(Sparks, 9). There
are several recent methods that have been discovered as predictors of a volcanic eruption. As
previously stated, it is important to understand a volcano and it s processes in order to predict when it
could potentially erupt. R.S.J. Sparks discusses the importance of understanding volcanoes in his
article, Forecasting Volcanic Eruptions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every little detail about a volcano can influence when it will erupt. It could be simple measures of
temperature or composition that influence when an eruption will occur. Many volcanic processes are
nonlinear and difficult to predict. If there is a sudden rock failure, it could bring the time of eruption
closer to us. If the earth is noted to have changed in any way, it could mean an eruption is immanent.
Seismic activity can be a sign of an eruption as long as it is frequent and long lasting. The presence of
sulfuric gas can mean an eruption is coming. Infrasonic waves, as long as they are in the correct range,
can mean an eruption is imminent. Other features near the volcano, such as a hydrothermal vent can
be used to estimate the time of an eruption using measurements of radon levels. Some methods of
predicting volcanic activity are more faulty than others, so in conclusion, it is best to combine
methods to get a more accurate prediction of when a volcano will

Film Analysis Of Bicycle Thieves
Bicycle Thieves, set in economically devastated post war Italy, where thieves burgeon. Vittorio de
Sica emphasized the daily struggles of ordinary people as a key concern of Italian neo realist directors,
who wished to portray reality in a more faithful manner than the era s dominant escapist studio
product, whether it came from Hollywood or Italy s own Cinecitta (Steffen). Most directors during
that time, portrayed the plight of the everyday Italian with rose tinted glasses, distracting from the real
issues that they were facing every day. De Sica set out to show the opposite while in Europe, the
searching self examination provoked by a devastating war and the revelation of Hitler s death camps
implicated an entire culture, includ[ed] a cinema of complicity and vain distraction, typified in Italy by
the white telephone farces and historical super spectacles of the 1930 s (Cheshire). Both movies
though from very different time periods set out to reveal the flaws in the system against everyday
people. There Will Be Blood had no real social impact in American cinematography, but Bicycle
Thieves, on the other hand, set a reminder that a whole world exists outside the movie theater, to
which our conscience and humanity requires us to pay attention.
There Will Be Blood is an epic film depicting vast landscapes in very thematic shots, while Bicycle
Thieves is a budget film shot in real locations with untrained actors. Bicycle Thieves presents Antonio

Native American Melting Pot
In America, there is a term we use to define the U.S. population, which is, The Melting pot. The
integration of lifestyles, cultures, and beliefs in this metaphorical melting pot, has been simmering
since the early 1500 s. Spanish settlers migrated to new worlds determined to claim land promised to
them by the Crown of Spain. Although, consequently, the natives had not realized that their way of life
and all that it entails, would become among the first ingredients in the pot of U.S. history. Despite
integration beginning with the emigrant settlers, they considered indigenous natives to be savage,
second class citizens on their own soil. In comparison to the superior standards of Spanish customs,
protecting these very ideologies of superiority against the Native Americans happened peacefully, or
by forcefully. The natives were simply out matched in arms, against Anglo Americans, which is why
the legacy of Hispanidad remains disparaged and vague. Therefore, whitewashed accounts of U.S.
history must be revised to include Latino contributions, factors, and influences on the development of
the United States of America, and not just ethnically. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Our military thought that they couldn t get to Pearl Harbor, that it was too long a journey from Japan
to get there, and they proved us wrong Jerry Bruckheimer. This quote helps explains that the United

Pearl Harbor was an attack that came out of nowhere. The first cause of Pearl Harbor is why did Japan

Martin Luther Essay
Martin Luther
Martin Luther was a German theologian and religious reformer, who started the
Protestant Reformation, and whose vast influence during his time period made him one of the crucial
figures in modern European history. Luther was born in
Eisleben on November 10, 1483 and was descended from the peasantry, a fact that he often stressed.
Hans Luther, his father, was a copper miner. Luther received a sound primary and secondary education
at Mansfeld, Magdeburg, and Eisenach. In
1501, at the age of 17, he enrolled at the University of Erfurt, receiving a bachelor s degree in 1502
and a master s degree in 1505 . He then intended to study law, as his father had wished. In the summer

Both the exact date and the location of this experience have been a matter of controversy among
scholars, but the event was crucial in Luther s life, because it turned him decisively against some of
the major tenets of the Catholic church. Luther became a public and controversial figure when he
published his Ninety Five Theses on October 31, 1517.
His main purpose of writing the theses was to show his opposition for the corruption and wealth of the
papacy and to state his belief that salvation would be granted on the basis of faith alone rather then by
works. Although it is generally believed that Luther nailed these theses to the door of All Saints
Church in Wittenberg, some scholars have questioned this story, which does not occur in any of his
own writings. Regardless of the manner in which his propositions were made public, they caused great
excitement and were immediately translated into German and widely distributed .
Luther s spirited defense and further development of his position through public university debates in
Wittenberg and other cities resulted in an investigation by the Roman Curia that led to the
condemnation of his teachings and his excommunication. Summoned to appear before Charles V at
the Diet of
Worms in April 1521, he was asked before the assembled secular and ecclesiastical rulers to recant. He

James A. Robinson also state that even extractive institutions can create economic growth. The writers
claim that even though the extractive institutions are using the wrong means to an end, they still
encourage as much growth as possible in order to have more to extract. This growth however, can be
achieved if these institutions have at least a minimal degree of political centralization. Also such event
can only last in the short run. Another aspect both books agree on is the fact that the only solution to
this huge problem of economic stagnation is the emergence of inclusive institutions. Robert B. Reich
claims that even though in the United States extractive institutions have the upper hand, there is still
hope. He states that This vicious cycle is neither inevitable nor irreversible . He believes that inclusive
institutions have equal opportunities to succeed, and if that happens the economy then will blossom.

The Landscape Of Escort Advertising
The landscape of escort ads in Vegas is unlike any other in the country due to the staggering number
of annual tourists we welcome every year. First time visitors are normally surprised at the level of
attention grabbing advertisements populating Las Vegas Boulevard. From moving billboards, to the
infamous handbills, or escort cards, being peddled on the Strip, escorts ads are everywhere, and there
is no denying they are as tempting as they are plentiful. Is this the first time you have visited, and you
find yourself wondering just how common hiring an escort, or private stripper, is? The plethora of
escort ads are indicative of how common it is for gentlemen and couples to hire Vegas escorts to
perform private strip shows behind closed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though there are many stunning women in this thriving metropolis, there are essentially two main
ways to meet escorts in Vegas. The first of them is through an agency, such as Bunnies of Las Vegas
Escorts. With an agency, you meet performers who have been vetted by the company to ensure they
are licensed, which means they are of the legal working age of 18 and above. The peace of mind that
comes with this is unmatched, but keep in mind that not all agencies are created equal.
There are many escort services in Vegas, but few of them go to the lengths we do to provide the upper
echelon of female companionship. When you insist on a playmate who is the total package, you must
align with an entity that only refers captivating dames who offer charming wit along with smoldering
sexuality. Especially if you extend your date to include a social outing, you must invite someone who
is more of a flirty conversationalist than a wet blanket. Awkward first dates are the worst, and if you
find yourself sitting next to a woman lacking in personality, your **Vegas GFE** will be akin to the
most uncomfortable of first dates. When you count on us to be your connection to an impassioned plus
one, you will not be left feeling bored or uninspired. Companions found here can be your afternoon
date at a popular Vegas party pool, or your elegant accessory at a high brow function. The date is

Dbq Essay On The 18th Amendment
The 18th Amendment dealt with prohibiting the manufacture, transportation, and sale of alcohol. This
amendment was ratified by the U.S. government and was probably one of the most futile proposals
they could have ever came up with. The 18th amendment should have never been approved because it
just gave Americans an alternative to break the law. Also, the government itself lost a great deal .
Americans would ,in a sense, never give up alcholol, leaving the American government helpless with
no other decision then to repeal the ban. To begin, the 18th amendment should have never been
ratified because it gave Americans that spark of rebellion to break the law. Americans did not want to
listen to the 18th amendment and deliberatley set up discreet locations just for them to drink alcohol.
Document 2 states Many people in the U.S. opposed this amendment and violated the law by going to
places called speakeasies to drink Document 2 also states Unfortunatley, many speakeasies make
payments to police for protection. This has led to a widespread corruption in our city government.

These violent groups led to an immense increase in breaking the law from the ratification and,

business, caused by Prohibition, was the start of organized crime in the USA. Both of these pieces of
evidence reveal that organized crime deliberatley got put into place as a result of the alcohol ban.

The hippocampus is the portion of the forebrain that in a part of the formation of long term memories.
The amygdala controls the intensity of emotional memories and is also involved in our emotional
learning. They differ in function because the hippocampus is involved in the development of our long

Carbohydrate Diet Analysis
The second analysis of my diet has allowed me to observe aspects of my diet that can be improved in
order to sustain lifelong benefits and meet dietary recommendations. For carbohydrates, it is suggested
that I consume approximently 130 grams of carbohydrates a day, however, I averaged approximently
250 grams a day. While I averaged 56% of my calories from carbohydrates, which is within the
acceptable range of 45 65%, the amount I consumed was on the higher end of the accepted values.
Also, it is suggested that Americans consume less than 10% of their calories from added sugars each
day. In a 2400 calorie diet, this means less than 240 calories are derived from added sugars. According
to my food details report, I consumed less than 240 calories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Finally, while it is suggested consumers make about half of their grains whole grains, I failed to
consume that much. Rather, each day, my refined grains were atleast double that of my whole grains.
Moving forward, it is essential to ensure that I aim to make more of my carbohydrates benefiticial to
my diet. Consuming carbohydrates from foods such as whole wheat products, like whole wheat bread,
or vegatables, such as sweet potatoes, ensures an adequate amount of carbohydrates while putting
good nutrients into my body. Additionally, because added sugars are not essntial to the diet, it is
important to continue to lower the amount of added sugar consumed and derive natural sugars from
foods like fruits or milk, while eliminating foods high in added sugars such as cookies or ice cream.
While I failed to meet the recommendation of making half of daily grains whole grains, increasing this
can ensure I am meeting this recommendation and increase the amount of fiber in my diet. By doing
this, small changes such as eating whole wheat bread instead of white bread or eating brown rice
instead of white rice can benefit the quality of grains

Belgian Congo vs. Holocaust
The atrocities of the Belgian Congo and the Holocaust are two of the main events in history that have
been responsible for the mass murdering of millions of people. Although these events significantly
changed the course of humanity, and the story behind each one is very different, there are significant
factors that make them alike as well as different. Many would agree that comparing two atrocities that
affected the lives of so many people and gave a 180 degree turn to each of their countries would be
something very difficult to achieve. However, by comparing the behavior of both the perpetrators and
the victims of both cases we might be able to further understand the lack of morality and the
inspiration that led to these awful events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allowed several years of massacre. However, eventually the number of Nazis running
concentration camps diminished, as they needed manpower fighting the war. This is further explained
in The Drowned and the Saved , The Nazism of the final years could not do without these external
auxiliaries, determined as it was to maintain its order within subjugated Europe and feed the front
lines of the war, bled white by their opponents growing military resistance. (Levi pg.42) This
weakening in their system allowed for the Holocaust to end and liberate the Jews from the occupied
Europe. This began the process of the creation of the state of Israel, where the Jews could find refuge.
This gave them a process of healing and allowed them to rebuild the Jewish community. The set of
events for the Belgian Congo was not similar in any way. The ivory company, which exported ivory to
Belgium and the rest of Europe leaded by King Leopold of Belgium, was the responsible for the
atrocities committed in Congo during the 1880 s.
Another key factor that differentiates these cases is the aftermath of the atrocities, and how the
Holocaust was able to utilize the Nuremberg Trials as the first step in achieving justice. In the Belgian
Congo atrocities, Belgium slowly deleted history and refused to take responsibility. In Heart of
Darkness we can find the lack of justice at the very end of the book when Charles

The Magic Barrel Essay
Most people spend much of their life looking for love. They look for love in many different people.
Some people believe that love finds its way to where it needs to be, and some believe that love must
be sought after. In Malamud s story, The Magic Barrel one of his characters says Love comes with the
right person, not before (Malamud 49). This implies that when two people find the right person, they
will find love. Defining love has been one of the most difficult words to define in the English
language. It has become to be used in everyday speech so freely that it has many layman definitions.
For example, a child may claim to love ice cream, or a base ball player may play for the love of the
game, but the dictionary defines love under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It takes a bit of trial and error to do this. Leo met one of the girls and through this trial he learned
about himself. He learned where he was and who he was, and that he did not love her. After this, he
found the one that he did love. This represents that one must know and love themselves before then
can love someone else. For how can one be expected to know how to love another without knowing
how to love him or her self? Leo discovered where he was in his relationship with God through this
experience. All relationships are learning experiences preparing the person for the true thing. When
Leo discovered the one he wanted, Salzman refused to let him have her because she was his daughter,
and he considered her unfit for a Rabbi. This only infuriated Leo and made him want her more. She
was the opposite of him, had lived a more sinful, less protected life, and this intrigued him. Many
times the one out of reach or completely opposite is the one that is meant to be. Leo ended up getting
this woman, but the story doesn t tell how they re relationship ended. From the point of infatuation to
love, many things can happen, but if it is the right person, love will come. Love, a complicated and
emotional subject is played with throughout life. A constant search for

Social Media And Its Effect On Children
Sustained attention was defined by one s ability to maintain prolonged focus during repetitive
activities. Researchers found that the ability to remain focused on a single task was most correlated
with the volume of media consumption, social media usage, multi screening behaviour, and when the
individual adopted a technological lifestyle. As the use and consumption of technology increased, the
ability to focus for a longer term decreased. Age was a variable heavily correlated with these metrics,
however age alone cannot be tied to sustained attention. However, not all of the results were against
using technology. Remarkably, early tech adopters and heavy users of social media showed an
increase in the number of high attention bursts. Selective attention was defined by one s ability to
maintaining response in the face of distracting or competing stimuli. It was found that those that spend
more time multi screening have significantly lower selective attentional scores, and those with higher
scores actively chose fewer distractions. However, a participant s ability to filter out distractions is a
result of their current surroundings, and not their use of media, or device use. If consumers were over
or under stimulated by an information source, multi screeners would switch their attention to
something else. Alternating attention was defined by one s ability to shift attention between tasks
demanding different cognitive skills. From data collected, it appears that digital

Jonathan Edwards s Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God
No one s ever gonna love you more than God, your mama and me. These country lyrics by Florida
Georgia Line portray their views of God as extremely loving and caring, however Jonathan Edwards
has a much different understanding of God. In the short story, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God
by Jonathan Edwards, he views God as strict, oppressive and willing to take action through the
imagery he uses regarding wind, fire and insects in nature.
Wind can be devastating to humans and the destruction can be impressively horrific, which has been
proven throughout history time and time again. Edward depicts the power God has at his disposal
through a storm with intense winds by preaching, The sovereign pleasure of God, for the present, stays

Edwards paints a picture in people s minds of a fire by exclaiming, His wrath towards you like fire; he
looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire; he is of purer eyes than to bear to
have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times more abominable in his eyes, than the most hateful
venomous serpent is in ours (Edwards 3). Edwards paints this picture to display how ruthless God is
and how willing he is to take action against the humans who are despicable to him. From Edward s
point of view towards God, he depicts how God is willing to take action without a second thought
against humans and watch them become engulfed in flames. In the same way Edwards paints this
picture of fire, he creates a more horrific image when he spoke, O sinner! Consider the fearful danger
you are in: it is a great furnace of wrath, a wide and bottomless pit, full of the fire of wrath, that you
are held over in the hand of that God, whose wrath is provoked and incensed as much against you, as
many of the damned in Hell. (Edwards 3). As stated before, God would be willing to take action
against humans and cause agony without a second thought by simply letting them slip through his
fingers into the pit of fire that Edwards describes. This more frightful imagery of the pit of fire
described also shows how strict God is because if humans continue their sinful lives, God can simply

Cardiovascular Attack Research Paper
How would you feel if you were put in a situation where you had to deal with a friend s cardiovascular
attack? Sadly, according to American Heart Association, 70% of Americans would feel helpless in the
event of a cardiovascular incident. This is why all Americans, even young, should learn CPR. The first
reason is because most Americans are unsure of how to perform CPR. Shockingly, only 30 percent of
Americans know CPR! Many lives could be saved by learning the lifesaving technique. A person
suffering a cardiovascular attack may look perfectly healthy from the outside. This is why everyone
should know the symptoms. Over the summer of 2015, I took a six hour babysitting at Notre Dame
Academy at the main topic was CPR. Another reason to know

phenylethylamine in the end. However, this racemic mixture contains two enantiomers of α
phenylethylamine: the (+) enantiomer and the ( ) enantiomer. Since we only extracted the ( ) form of
the enantiomer, the percent yield should only represent about 50% of the overall racemic mixture.
Therefore a value of 32.8% is very close to the theoretical 50% yield that we were looking for.

It dissolves easily in high pH solutions due to the high concentration of free OH ions in the solution.
The high concentration of OH comes from the dissociation of the strong base NaOH. Tartaric acid
contains H+ that can dissociate and react with the OH ions to form water and thus create an
equilibrium reaction. This also allows the tartaric acid to dissolve to form tartrate. In low pH solutions,
there would already be a lot of H+ ions in the solution and so tartaric acid would not be able to

Public Meeting At The City Of Saskatoon Where I Grew Up
Bruno, Saskatchewan, a small town east of Saskatoon where I grew up, is known for its hay farms,
and cherry festivals. Similar to other small towns, you will find the town office on the busiest street in
town the main street. On February 22, 2016, I attended a public meeting in Bruno s town office. The
public meeting was a town of Bruno regular monthly council meeting. I planned on staying as long as
it took for me to get the information I needed on policy and how the council made decisions. Within
this council meeting, the council freely discussed matters, occasionally having some order. In addition,
there was no form of talking stick, which caused Interruptions and over talking.

Even though the decision making process was scattered, shared decision making is what was
happening. On one issue they were all clear, quick and on the same page. On the other issues
discussed they were scattered. There was no one leader of the decision; there were multiple leaders for
a discussion at different times. Therefore, as an observer, this was extremely difficult to follow along.
Bruno council did follow shared decision making and a strategic planning approach. Even though they
used the majority of the steps, the discussion could have been more formally approached. However,
you can take into consideration this council represents a small population. The support for this
approach consists of reform minded policy makers and leaders, which is hard to come by in a smaller
community. These individuals that were sitting at the table are knowledgeable individuals. However,
they do not enable the experiences broader sectors do. Even though, Bruno council lacks the broader
spectrum, they do practice one of the most important benefits of policy making, shared learning.
The first thing on the agenda was revising the employee code of conduct and conflict of interest
policy. The administrator asked if everyone read the code of conduct and the policy, some of the
council said no. One councillor then asked what the objection to the policy was. The councillor in
charge of the policy clarified. She brought forth words that should be changed. Therefore,

  • 2. High Degree Education Of Ceramic Art River flows from the side of the hill named Xiangshan; Students work in the quiet garden view campus, which the buildings there are decorated with historical ceramic tiles. For students and teachers, having a chance to be in this cultural environment is a life s fortune. Although today s social life is so different than the past, people are getting harder to focus on pure academic research because of the distractions from daily affairs. Especially for higher degree students that rely on independent research, which provides freedom, but also brings the problems of shallow researches. Currently, the higher degree education in contemporary ceramic art of Asian should construct its own value system that suits Eastern culture and aesthetic. The views of above aspects had formed the exhibition s main concept. The Asian art academies are facing the same situation in the higher degree education of ceramic art. The day to day teaching needs new energy and clear direction; the homogeneity in teaching should be avoided, and the lack of uniqueness should be made up. So, we need to focus on the root of problem and plan ahead. The scholar Zhu Xi has asked in his book The Feeling Arisen By Reading: Asking why the river is so clean; it is because the fresh water always comes from the fountainhead. It is talking about the happening of developments need fresh ideas. The higher degree education of ceramic art in Asian academies is like the river, and its developments need newer and update ... • 3. Anarchist Terror In the late Nineteenth Century, Europe, and to a more limited extent the United States, was beset by various acts of terror perpetrated by people broadly identifying or identified as anarchists in some form. While individual motives and ideologies often varied wildly from instance to instance of anarchist terror, the anarchists (as well as more thoroughly derived utopian ideologues like socialists and communists) were driven by desire to radically change the deplorable societal conditions facing the masses of the working class poor. While many anarchists were not violent in nature, taking more academic and traditional political routes in their quest for change, terrorists were prevalent among those who fell under the anarchist umbrella, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously mentioned, the media of the time did their best to whip the public into an anti anarchist, anti immigrant, and anti labor frenzy in the aftermath of the bombing. While public perception of the labor movement immigrants both eventually recovered to some degree, the anarchist movement, in the United States at least, was perpetually marred by this incident. Since the mainstream American media was controlled by the very people the anarchists were devoted to removing from power, media portrayal of anarchist acts was consistently, and overwhelmingly negative, in turn shaping public opinion to be negative. This was not helped by anarchists propensity to keep committing the type of acts that gets them such negative press, driving home the de legitimization of their motives and ideology to the masses who, in order to be successful, need at least nominally receptive, if not favorable to the anarchist ... • 4. Edison Vs Nikola Tesla Thomas Edison vs. Nikola Tesla: Who Was More Influential Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison made major advancements in the field of electrical currents. But which inventor made the greatest contributions to the industry? Tesla made inventions like the widely used alternating currents, radar technology, and other crazy ideas such as a death beam. In comparison, Edison was successful with using amazing direct currents, the useful phonograph and improved the stock ticker with his universal stock printer. They were both famous inventors with very interesting backgrounds. Nikola Tesla was born July 10, 1856 in the town of Smiljan, Croatia. He was one of five children. According to Biography.com, Tesla got his inspiration from his mother, Djuka Mandic, who made small household appliances in her spare time (Editors). Milutin Tesla, his father, wanted Nikola to be a priest, but Nikola s interest was with science. He studied at Realschule, Karlstadt; Polytechnic Institute in Graz, Austria: and the University of Prague (Editors). Later, he moved to Budapest and worked at the Central Telephone Exchange. • 5. The Freedom And Full Citizenship Of All African Americans Lincoln was elected president in 1860 and because of this the south seceded and formed the confederate states of America. Shortly after, the civil war begun with the attack on fort Sumter and more southern states seceded. During the civil war Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation that freed all the slaves in the states that seceded, this was the first step to the freedom and full citizenship of all African Americans. During the time of the civil war and reconstruction period constitutional and social developments moderately influenced a revolution. The 13th 15th amendments influenced constitutionally. Socially, Freedmen s Bureau, Ku Klux Klan and Jim Crow laws countervailed a revolution. Constitutional developments influenced a revolution because of 13th 15th amendments, these amendments freed all slaves, gave African Americans civil rights and the right to vote. The fight for the 13th amendment up roared after uncle toms cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Uncle tom s cabin showed the horrific truths about slavery and how slaves were treated badly. This turned many people against slavery and influenced them to fight for the freedom of slaves. Most people wanted the abolishment of slavery but knew that when slaves were freed that they would want civil rights and voting rights. Although the federal government was strong enough to free the slaves they were not strong enough to protect African American voting rights (doc C). This was revolutionary because for generations ... • 6. The Mistreatment Of The Zeitoun Family Renowned journalist and author, Dave Eggers, in his famed novel, Zeitoun, recounts the mistreatment of the Zeitoun family in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina based on their racial and religious profiles in a post 9/11 America. His purpose is to reveal the unwarranted injustices faced by Muslim American Hurricane Katrina victims through a description of the Zeitoun family s experiences, in order to educate his readers of the impact discrimination has on emergency response. Eggers adopts a sympathetic tone towards the protagonists as they fall victim to the government s unpreparedness, and maintains a critical tone to address the American government s failure in protecting the rights of the hurricane s victims. Eggers employs logos to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... . . other agencies . . . [that] were involved (307), especially paranoia regarding Islamist terrorists from the 9/11 attack, resulted in the systematic search to incarcerate Muslims like Zeitoun. As a result, when Zeitoun is about to enter Camp Greyhound and questions a passing soldier why he and his friends have been arrested, the soldier replies, You guys are Al Qaeda (212), concurring with the MSSTs purpose of apprehending potential members of major terrorist groups. Obviously, this is not a rational reason for an arrest, as the men have done nothing illegal. Eggers uses this appeal to authority (through the quote of a soldier actively participating in the situation) to underline just how much more of a role race and religion play in Hurricane Katrina s law enforcement than actual criminal behavior. Zeitoun s only crime is being Arab and believing in Allah in a time when Islamophobia is rampant, reasons that do not justify the mistreatment he suffers during the next couple of weeks as a supposed terrorist. Therefore, through the inclusion of credible evidence and quotes, Eggers successfully harnesses logos to affirm the unmerited racial and religious injustices that Zeitoun faces during and after his arrest, simply because he is a Middle Eastern, Muslim man. Besides logical appeal, Eggers also uses stark juxtaposition in his writing, in order to draw attention to the injustices that the Zeitoun family faces. To depict their life before Hurricane ... Natural and Sexual Selection of Vestigial and Wild Type Drosophila melanogaster Abstract In this experiment, vestigial flies as well as wild type flies were used to create some diversity as well as test one of our hypotheses. Our hypotheses are as follows; 1) The wild type flies will have a greater relative fitness compared to the vestigial flies based on only sexual selection. The wild type has a relative fitness of 1 since it has fully functional wings. Vestigial Winged flies are not as sexually appealing since their wings are not functional and the wing movement is a vital part of their mating ritual. 2) The vestigial fly will have a greater relative fitness when considering both sexual and natural selection. With the presence of natural selection (fly paper hanging from top of cage) posing a larger threat to the wild flies b/c they can fly better, this will allow vestigial flies to prosper better. Materials and Methods To set up this experiment, two twenty five gallon aquariums, 3 petri dishes, 200 flies, rotten bananas, and yeast were used. The bananas chosen to be an accelerant for the growth of the yeast and were frozen so they would be easier to cut. The yeast was used because the drosophila melanogaster prefer this as a food source. The vestigial and wild type flies were sexed (to determine their sex), sorted, and counted. An initial population size of 100 total flies was decided so that it would be easier to determine the phenotypic percentage of the total population. Fly paper was placed in one of the sets of cages to impose a method of natural selection as well as the sexual selection which is being solely tested by the other set of cages. It was decided that there would be 80 vestigial flies and 20 wild type flies to total to an initial population of 100 drosophila. Next, the flies were anesthetized flies using Fly Nap. The flies were counted out to reach desired ratio, sexing the flies making sure there are equal amounts of males and females to be sure there is ample individuals to allow successful mating. There are a multitude of signals that will be given off indicating that an eruption is imminent. Sometimes the predicting behaviors will not lead to an eruption, however. A.M. Sparks states that it is important to first understand the properties of a volcano and it s processes in order to create an accurate prediction(Sparks, 9). There are several recent methods that have been discovered as predictors of a volcanic eruption. Every little detail about a volcano can influence when it will erupt. It could be simple measures of temperature or composition that influence when an eruption will occur. Many volcanic processes are nonlinear and difficult to predict. If there is a sudden rock failure, it could bring the time of eruption closer to us. If the earth is noted to have changed in any way, it could mean an eruption is immanent. Seismic activity can be a sign of an eruption as long as it is frequent and long lasting. The presence of sulfuric gas can mean an eruption is coming. Infrasonic waves, as long as they are in the correct range, can mean an eruption is imminent. Other features near the volcano, such as a hydrothermal vent can be used to estimate the time of an eruption using measurements of radon levels. Some methods of predicting volcanic activity are more faulty than others, so in conclusion, it is best to combine methods to get a more accurate prediction of when a volcano will ... Vittorio de Sica emphasized the daily struggles of ordinary people as a key concern of Italian neo realist directors, who wished to portray reality in a more faithful manner than the era s dominant escapist studio product, whether it came from Hollywood or Italy s own Cinecitta (Steffen). Most directors during that time, portrayed the plight of the everyday Italian with rose tinted glasses, distracting from the real issues that they were facing every day. De Sica set out to show the opposite while in Europe, the searching self examination provoked by a devastating war and the revelation of Hitler s death camps implicated an entire culture, includ[ed] a cinema of complicity and vain distraction, typified in Italy by the white telephone farces and historical super spectacles of the 1930 s (Cheshire). Both movies though from very different time periods set out to reveal the flaws in the system against everyday people. There Will Be Blood had no real social impact in American cinematography, but Bicycle Thieves, on the other hand, set a reminder that a whole world exists outside the movie theater, to which our conscience and humanity requires us to pay attention. There Will Be Blood is an epic film depicting vast landscapes in very thematic shots, while Bicycle Thieves is a budget film shot in real locations with untrained actors. The integration of lifestyles, cultures, and beliefs in this metaphorical melting pot, has been simmering since the early 1500 s. Spanish settlers migrated to new worlds determined to claim land promised to them by the Crown of Spain. Although, consequently, the natives had not realized that their way of life and all that it entails, would become among the first ingredients in the pot of U.S. history. Despite integration beginning with the emigrant settlers, they considered indigenous natives to be savage, second class citizens on their own soil. In comparison to the superior standards of Spanish customs, protecting these very ideologies of superiority against the Native Americans happened peacefully, or by forcefully. The natives were simply out matched in arms, against Anglo Americans, which is why the legacy of Hispanidad remains disparaged and vague. His main purpose of writing the theses was to show his opposition for the corruption and wealth of the papacy and to state his belief that salvation would be granted on the basis of faith alone rather then by works. Although it is generally believed that Luther nailed these theses to the door of All Saints Church in Wittenberg, some scholars have questioned this story, which does not occur in any of his own writings. Regardless of the manner in which his propositions were made public, they caused great excitement and were immediately translated into German and widely distributed . Researchers found that the ability to remain focused on a single task was most correlated with the volume of media consumption, social media usage, multi screening behaviour, and when the individual adopted a technological lifestyle. As the use and consumption of technology increased, the ability to focus for a longer term decreased.
