President Obama s President Bush Essay
Incumbent politicians spend their time in office voting on legislation to benefit their constituents,
crafting legislation to fit party principles, building a reputation for reelection, and crafting a legacy
that will ensure them a spot in history. President Obama s choice to act unilaterally in signing the Paris
Agreement solidifies his legacy by finally putting into effect an international agreement that has been
a work in progress for two decades. The Republican ruled Congress has been opposing what they
claim to be a war on coal since President Obama made climate change a focus of his second term.
Obama s bypass of Congressional approval for the Paris Agreement, an agreement many see as a
treaty, will strain Congressional/Executive relations for terms to come by encouraging members of
Congress to be cautious of unilateral actions while encouraging the President to take advantage of
them. The Paris Agreement is made up of 195 nations who plan to cut their greenhouse gas emissions
in an attempt to slow down the increase in the global temperature. President Obama s decision to sign
this agreement does not only promote his personal climate change legacy but the climate change
legacy of the United States of America. Since this environmental pact is only legally binding when at
least 55 countries representing 55 percent of global emissions sign on, a United States signature could
very well be the difference between a revolutionary global climate change policy and

Physics of Aristotle Essay
The great Greek thinker Aristotle was born in 384 B.C. in Stagirus, a city in ancient Macedonia in
northern Greece. At the age of eighteen Aristotle went to Athens to begin his studies at Plato s
Academy. He stayed and studied at the Academy for nineteen years and in that time became both a
teacher and an independent researcher. After Plato s death in 347 B.C. Aristotle spent twelve years
traveling and living in various places around the Aegean Sea. It was during this time that Aristotle was
asked by Philip of Macedon to be a private tutor to his son, Alexander. Aristotle privately taught
Alexander for three years before he returned to Athens after Philip gained control of the Greek capital.
During this period back in Athens Aristotle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Physics Aristotle deduces that there must be two main principles of change. These principles
are 1) matter and 2) form. Matter stays the same in general composition throughout change much as a
rock would stay the same even after being broken into several small pieces. Form, however, is what
changes through various processes.
In order to prevent an infinite regression of argument, Aristotle came up with the his famous idea of
the Prime Mover, which exists outside the earth somewhere in the heavens and is ultimately
responsible for all change on earth.
Aristotle s physics separated the universe into two main areas: the terrestrial realm and the celestial
realm. The terrestrial realm was composed of the four elements: earth, wind, water and fire, which
could each be either hot, wet, dry or cold, and the celestial realm made of ether, or what Aristotle
called the quintessence.
The basic assumption of Aristotelian physics was that the natural state of terrestrial matter is at rest,
and that earth air and water would continually strive to reach their natural place at the center of the
earth unless impeded by an impenetrable surface like the ground or a ceiling. He assumed that the
natural resting place of fire was somewhere above the earth but below the moon. this model held that
the complicated nature of the circulation of the air was a result of the conflict between fire, which was
trying to

Analysis Of The Article Battle Of Hastings
The article from Wikipedia called Battle of Hastings is about the historical Battle of Hastings, fought
on October 14, 1066. Part of the Norman conquest of England, it was between the Norman French
army of William, the Duke of Normandy, and an English army under the Anglo Saxon King Harold
Godwinson. Taking place approximately 7 miles northwest of Hastings, East Sussex, England, it was a
Norman victory. This significant battle was fought due to the death of childless King Edward the
Confessor which caused Harold to be crowned king shortly after King Edward s death. However,
Harold faced invasion of Duke William as Duke William claimed he had been promised the throne by
King Edward and that Harold had sworn to this agreement (Battle of Hastings, 2016). The battle lasted
from about 9 a.m. to dusk, with estimates of around 10,000 men fighting for Duke William and about
7,000 men for Harold. The battle ended with the death of Harold which had led to the defeat and
retreat of most of his army (Battle of Hastings, 2016). Many historians have their theories about the
possible outcomes of the Battle of Hastings. One was Harold had to defend against almost two
simultaneous invasions. Some historians will fault Harold for not gathering up enough, troops after the
previous battle he had in the previous month. Another reason Harold is blamed for the outcome, and
loss of England, is because Duke William was a much more experienced military leader than Harold.
In the end, Harold s

The 12 Basic Principles Of Motion Graphics
Motion graphic is consist of two words. Motion is the action or process of moving or of changing
place or position; movement. power of movement, as of a living body. A bodily movement or change
of posture; gesture. ( the definition of motion, n.d.). Graphics is the art of drawing, Movies,
Television. the titles, credits, subtitles, announcements, etc., shown on the screen before, or as part of,
a film or television program. ( the definition of graphic, n.d.)
The term motion graphics was first posed by John Withney, the well known animator, in 1960. Saul
Bass was the first one who outstandingly took advantage of motion graphics in his works (Yu, Li,
2008).
But, there is no universally accepted definition of the term Motion Graphics. It generally refers to the
movement or animation of words, letters, shapes, or artistic elements, sometimes within three
dimensional space.
II.1.3.1 Principle of Motion Graphic
There are 12 basic principles in motion graphic based on The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation book
(Thomas, F., Johnston, O. 1995), which are fellows :

The At The North Texas Teen Book
Hi everyone! This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending The North Texas Teen Book Festical
in Irving, TX. It was so much fun, and honestly it was one of the best weekends of my life. This post
is just an overview of some pictures and the things I did. Let s begin! (All the bloggers/booktubers I
mention will be linked at the end!)
Friday
Friday was educator s day, but they had an author luncheon that was open to the public. The authors at
the luncheon were Sarah Dessen, Ruta Sepetys, and E. Lockhart. I met up with my friend, Avery, to go
to the event. As we were sitting in the lobby, we saw Marie Lu walk in and I started freaking out. I
wanted to go and ask for a picture, but I was too shy to go up to her. We went inside and sat at a table
close to the front (closest to the reserve author table).
As we were sitting there, I look in the corner and Ruta Sepetys (AKA ONE OF MY FAVORITE
AUTHORS) is standing in the corner. Avery and I went over to talk to Ruta, and she was absolutely
adorable. If you ever have the chance to meet Ruta, please seize your opportunity because she s
absolutely brilliant. Avery and I got a picture with her.

We finally got the courage to take a picture with Marie Lu, so here s my picture with Marie:

I was able to get my entire Legend trilogy signed by her the next day. I didn t get a chance to talk to
her during the signing because there wasn t enough time.

Literary Techniques In Dorothea Mackellar s Poem My Country
In Poetry authors use a range of literary techniques. These techniques can include the use of rhyme,
alliteration, personification, similes, metaphors and imagery. The poems that will be compared in this
essay include: My Country by Dorothea Mackellar, The Eagle by Alfred Lord Tennyson and Old Man
Platypus by Banjo Patterson.
The Poem My Country, by Australian poet Dorothea Mackellar, depicts the diverse land of Australia
and why she loves it so much. This poem makes me feel proud to be Australian because I am lucky
enough to live in such a vast and beautiful country, as the poem describes. The constant flow of this
poem is created by the rhyme scheme where the second and fourth lines of each stanza rhyme and so
do lives six and eight. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem makes me feel lighthearted and it makes me smile through its clever language use to
describe the individuality of the platypus. Techniques used in this poem include the use of rhyme, like
the two poems previously mentioned. In this poem line one, three and four rhyme and lines two and
five also rhyme with each other in each stanza. Also like the two previous poems, Old Man Platypus
employs personification. For example the poem gives the platypus the human quality of talking in
stanza five he talks in a deep unfriendly growl . Alliteration is used in this poem, like the others, such
as in the first line of stanza three: he shares his burrow beneath the bank . Similes are also found in
this poem in stanza four where Patterson writes, They sleep like little brown billiard balls . This image
of the sleeping platypuses is emphasized by the use of alliteration. Unlike the other two poems
mentioned, Patterson uses humor in this poem while he is describing the platypus. For example he
playfully refers to the platypus as Old Man Platypus and writes that he descends from a family most
exclusive . The use of the word exclusive would not usually be thought of to refer to the ancestry of
the platypus and this is where the humorous tone of Patterson s writing comes

Tsunami And Hurricanes Compare And Contrast
Tsunamis and hurricanes are often confused because they are both storms that can cause mass
destruction. Both can be extremely catastrophic, end lives, and destroy homes, towns, and/or cities.
Tsunamis and hurricanes are both natural disasters that have many similarities and many differences.
There is often a lot of confusion between tsunamis and hurricanes. They are both natural disasters that
involve a lot of water, they can both cause a lot of destruction and/or death, and they can both ruin or
end people s lives. After each natural disaster there can be a lot of damage to homes, buildings, and
cities. Each can cause a wide range of deaths and lost family members or friends. One good similarity
that both Tsunamis and Hurricanes posses,

Ice Breaker Acitivity
BLOW WIND BLOW
For this icebreaker game you ll need to set up your chairs in a circle facing inwards. Make sure there
is one less chair than there are players.
Select one player to start off in the middle. They must begin by calling out Blow wind blow . The rest
of the group must respond blow what? Then the middle player can say some kind of conditional
statement like everyone with red hair or everyone not wearing shoes . All the players that fit into that
category must get up and switch chairs with another player. This allows a chance for the middle player
to steal a chair also. Once everyone has finished switching as quickly as possible, there will be one
player left stuck in the middle. Then the process repeats!

Note:
This is a high energy activity, so it is very important to keep safety in mind. Yes, pool noodles are soft
and generally won t hurt someone, but a pool noodle in the eye or mouth sucks. So, setting parameters
on where you can hit someone with the pool noodle before the game starts is a good idea. Also,
anyone who doesn t physically feel comfortable jumping or ducking should opt out of that part of the
activity.
Look Up Look Down |
Material Needed: None
Time Required: 10 minutes
Group Size: 10 200
Purpose: Physical energizer 1. Arrange participants into groups of 12 20 members. 2. Have
participants stand in a tight circle, shoulder to shoulder. 3. Explain that when you (the facilitator) says,
look down everyone must look at the ground. And when you say, Look up everyone must look up and
stare directly at the face of another person. If two people look up and stare at each other, they must
scream and then step out of the circle. The rest of the participants who didn t make eye contact with
another person will continue staring until the facilitator says, Look down again. Play continues until
there are only 2 3 people left in the circle.
Variations:
If you have more than one circle of Look Up Look Down going on, you will want a facilitator who
knows the rules in each group.

Becoming A Certified Medical Assistant
What is a CMA? A CMA, also known as a certified medical assistant, is an individual that has been
awarded a certification credential through the Certifying Board of the American Association of
Medical Assistants(AAMA). CMA has been educated in a wide scope of general, clinical, and
administrative responsibilities. They were also tested. CMAs play major roles in the medical field, by
aiding other professionals to help patients. Being a certified medical assistant takes time, the process
maybe complicated but in the end of the day it may be worth it. To become a CMA, there are certain
education requirements. The CMA is the only certification that requires graduation from a

One pro is, being able to help people. Some are in it just to help people and cure them of their
sickness. Just to be able to help someone is an enjoyment to them. CMAs can work anywhere,
between nursing home facilities, offices, and hospitals of course. Some build relationships with their
patients and some may say that isn t a pro but it isn t good to just be rude and dull to a patient. It s
better to be happy and optimistic around a patient. You can be certified to work in any state. Instead of
being tied down to one state only, the certification allows the person to work anywhere across the
country. You work regular hours. Unlike some workers in the medical profession: nurses, doctors, etc.
CMAs get off at the exact time that s on their schedule, no overtimes or anything and they know their
schedule. There are plenty of jobs. The field is to grow at least by 23% by 2022. The drawbacks of
becoming a CMA is it can be very tiring. Especially working in a hospital or a nursing home, the
patients could be a little too much or extremely sick and they may need extra care and that may be
tiring. Some CMAs should perform both administrative and clinical duties which can become very
frustrating and overwhelming. Another drawback is the pay rate and the amount of schooling. CMAs
typically receive lower wages than most medical professions and do about the same amount of
schooling as doctors and nurses and doing much more, they don t get much at all. Compared to RNs
they make $31,000 less and compared to doctors they make $171,000 less. But most people that go
into that field probably aren t in it for the

Critically Discuss How Human Resource Management Can...
Human resource management is the function within an organisation that deals with recruitment,
management and communication. The size of an organisation s HRM is dependent on the general size
of the organisation a small businesses may for example only have one member of staff responsible for
HRM where as a multinational company would have a huge HRM department in its head office. This
assignment will look at how much HRM is responsible for improving organisational performance.
Human resource management is clearly an integral part of any business and without it a business may
not achieve a greater level of success as it would have by employing a successful human resource
management operation. By employing staff to conduct human resource ... Show more content on

Self managed teams encourage middle managers to have more authority and then feel more motivated
its encourages more independence however organisations should be aware that giving individual
manager more independence risks creating more individualism within the different segments of the
organisation and a company that HR strategy is to maintain a strict overall way of running all
segments/branches will not want to encourage managers to have too much freedom. High pay is
essential for improving performance as it stated in Maslow s hierarchy of needs, employees need to
feels that they are being rewarded suitably for the work they have done
In order to assess the extent in which HRM, in particular strategy is linked in organisational
performance it s important to understand the different research and theoretical perspectives behind it
as well as the reasons for a company needing a certain type of strategy. As would be expected when
implementing a strategy to improve the performance of an organisation. A business would have to
look at the environment it is in before deciding its strategy as can be imagined. A company in very
predictable environment such as HEINZ KETCHUP would probably have in place a very strict and
fixed strategy as to how to manage their organisation. This is because there are not

Mr Darcy Quotes And Analysis
13 February 2018 The Meaning of Letters In 2018, many forms of technology such as the computer,
iPhone, and social media apps allow many people to stay connected with one another every day. In
fact, many people incorporate technology into their house and workplace. As technology continues to
grow, the meaning of words communicated through technology seems to stretch farther from the truth.
In other words, as technology has become more readily available to public, more people have
communicated less about how they actually feel. However, before any of the common types of
technology were invented, many people relied on letters for honest communication. Letters were used
to express varying types of information, from sharing personal family ... Show more content on

Darcy s letter to Elizabeth, Mr. Darcy s character such as his gentle nature, social class belief, and his
gentlemen personality are uncovered. In chapter 35, Mr. Darcy said, I had detached Mr. Bingley from
your sister, and the other, that I had, in defiance of various claims, in defiance of honour and
humanity, ruined the immediate prosperity and blasted the prospects of Mr. Wickham., I am under the
necessity of relating feelings which may be offensive to yours, I can only say that I am sorry (Austen).
Before this letter, Elizabeth viewed Mr. Darcy as a cold and overconfident person that purposely
separated Mr. Bingley and Jane. However, this quote reveals that it was not his intention to
purposefully separate Mr. Bingley from Jane; he convinced Mr. Bingley that Jane did not have
romantic feelings towards him. Furthermore, this quote reveals his gentle nature and love towards
Elizabeth because he sincerely apologizes to Elizabeth for causing her distress. In the middle of his
letter to Elizabeth, Mr. Darcy said, The situation of your mother s family, though objectionable, was
nothing in comparison to that total want of propriety so frequently, so almost uniformly betrayed by
herself, by your three younger sisters, and occasionally even by your father (Austen). This quote
reveals that Mr. Darcy believes in the importance of social classes and appearances to fit society. Even
though he believes that Elizabeth belongs to a crazy family, he explained how he views Elizabeth
separate from her embarrassing family. Even though the difference in social classes would keep an
average couple apart, Mr. Darcy s and Elizabeth s love is so strong that they overlook their differences
in social class. Towards the end of the letter, Mr. Darcy said, I thought too ill of him to invite him to
Pemberley, or admit his society in town. In town I believe he chiefly lived, but his studying the law
was a mere pretence, and being now free from all restraint, his life was a life of

Annotated Bibliography On Video Surveillance
ABSTRACT
The importance of Video Surveillance is increasing significantly everyday as organizations seek to
safe guard their physical, information and capital assets. With the same vigour, the necessity to
observe large number of people on roads, tourist spots, traffic lights, etc. is increasing to seek and pull
more and more useful information. These demands calls for Smart Video Surveillance, analogous to
traditional analog human force consuming approaches. This report is focussed to study such various
technologies and ideas for implementation in Video Surveillance System. A lot of human resources is
used for tracking and surveillance.
The effort for this report is guided for occlusion, tracking mechanism, camera shift and spacio

The Normal Distribution Is A Continuous, Unimodal And...
The normal distribution is a continuous, unimodal and symmetric distribution. For a typical normal
distribution, a mesokurtic (which means to have a moderate peak and tails for a graph), definition is
one that has a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1. While this is the case, there might be other
normal distributions with means that are not 0 and a standard deviation that is not 1, for these cases,
we use their means and standard deviation. For example, if a normal distribution had a mean of 2 and
a standard deviation of 3, then in order to clarify that it is indeed a normal distribution, we write N(
2,3). Among the normal distributions, we have a standard normal, exponential, uniform and beta.
These are varieties of distributions we can get within a normal distribution based on factors like
number of cases for example and where the cases were drawn from. At times when it gets complicated
to distinguish between the standard deviation of a variable and that of a sampling distribution, there is
a solution. The standard deviation for a sampling distribution is called a standard error and this
literally means that if a sampling distribution is normal, then 68% of its samples will lie within one
standard error of the mean and 98% within 1.98 standard error of the mean. The normal distribution is
useful not just due a random variable following a normal distribution, but also because the Central
Limit Theorem, which is a theorem that shows the sampling distribution of the mean

Cannery Row also includes realistic details that give readers a good seuse of what daily life was like

The Causes And Cons Of Chemistry In Chemistry
After completion of the transesterification reaction employed at the optimal conditions, the catalyst
was collected from the reactant mixture by filtration; the catalyst was washed with hexane several
times to remove the adhered oil particles, and then dried at 110°C for 2 hr. The catalyst was reused
several times without further treatment to obtain FAME from WCSO.
To evaluate catalyst stability, the optimum amount of CaO that was obtained by examining the
operating condition was stirred with 38ml methanol at the optimum conditions obtained. After the
catalyst was separated, methanol was mixed with 30 ml WCSO and the reaction was carried out under
the optimum conditions, 65°C, methanol: oil ratio 30:1, 3 hr. and 300 rpm.
3. Results and discussion
3.1 Catalyst characterization
The synthesized CaO catalyst was subjected to different temperatures and times of calcination. The
calcination time and temperature change the catalyst structure; consequently, this affects catalyst
activity and the concentration of FAMEs produced. The impact of different calcination temperatures,
700 °C, 750 °C, 800 °C, 850 °C, and 900 °C, and durations, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 hr, were tested for the

The Current State Of Cybersecurity

The Sea At A Steady Speed
THE ROYAL QUINQUEREME cut thru the sea at a steady speed, its ten tiers of oars five on each
side rowing in perfect harmony, all synchronized with the thudding cadence of the Hortator s heavy
hammers. Its massive square rigged sail was billowing majestically as the wind blew from the west,
aiding the banks of rowers on the benches, pushing the giant warship across the water and ever closer
to Alexandria. The skies were sunny and the seas were calm, perfect weather for a long sea voyage. A
few days earlier, the galley, along with its escort of two naval triremes, had traversed the narrow
Straits of Messina, and now cruised east to the southern tip of Greece, fast approaching the island of
Crete. From there it was only five days to Egypt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

HIPAA Essay
The Health Insurance Portability and Accounting Act (HIPAA) is geared towards the protection of
anyone with Protected Health Information (PHI). It was passed in 1996 by congress placing new rules
to protect PHI under the enforcement of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Under
HIPAA anyone who handles health care information such as, clearinghouses, health care plans, and
health care providers who transmits certain types of healthcare information electronically is
considered a covered entity subject to regulation under HIPAA. HIPAA sets up two major rules
addressing privacy and security. The first, the Privacy Rule, addresses the need to keep PHI

The first is when the owner of the PHI requests it. Although the covered entity may deny the request if
it believes it will cause harm to the life or physical safety of the requester or another person. The
second is in the event of an HHS investigation. There are several other important individual rights
under the Privacy Rule. Covered entities are required to keep records detailing the disclosures of a
person s PHI. Although covered entities do not need to detail every disclosure, but rather specific
types as detailed in the Privacy Rule. Also, any notices given to people about their PHI must be
written in a simple, easy to understand manner. Other things to note are requirements to report
breaches, and in the event that a person requests access to his or her own PHI, the covered entity must
respond within 30 days with a possible extension of another 30 days with notification. The other major
part of HIPAA is the Security Rule. The purpose of the Security Rule is to ensure that PHI is secure
and requires that certain types of safeguards be put in place. This rule has three different types of
safeguards put in place. The first category has to do with administrative safeguards. These are as

A leader must be positive, have a servant s heart, follow through, exhibit growth potential, by loyal, be
resiliency, have integrity, see the big picture, be disciplined, and express gratitude (Maxwell, 1995). A
leader realizes that he cannot win an argument (Carnegie, 1936). A leader must speak in terms of the
follower s interest and sincerely make him an integral contributor to the organization (Carnegie,
1936). There must be a willingness to understand others and an appreciation for differences in an
organization (Maxwell, 2003b). I see myself as being likeable and agreeable. I try to get along with

Problems with Drinking and driving
Driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated, drunken driving, drunk driving, operating
under the influence, drinking and driving, or impaired driving is the crime of driving a motor vehicle
while impaired by alcohol or other drugs including those prescribed by physicians. In the case of
alcohol, a drunk driver s level of intoxication is typically determined by a measurement of blood
alcohol content or BAC. A BAC measurement in excess of a specific threshold level, such as 0.05% or
0.08%, defines the criminal offense with no need to prove impairment. In some jurisdictions, there is
an aggravated category of the offense at a higher BAC level, such as 0.12%. In most countries, anyone

One study suggests that already a BAC of 0.04 0.05% would slightly increase the risk whereas some
studies suggest that a BAC of 0.01 0.04% would slightly lower the risk, possibly due to the drivers
being more cautious. Both the influential study by Borkenstein et al. and the empirical German data
on the 1990s demonstrated that the risk of accident is lower or the same for drivers with a BAC of
0.04% or less than for drivers with a BAC of 0%. For a BAC of 0.15% the risk is 25 fold. The 0.08%
BAC limit in Germany and the limits in many other countries were set based on the study by
Borkenstein et al. Wuerzburg University researchers showed that all extra accidents caused by alcohol
were due to at least 0.06% BAC, 96% of them due to BAC above 0.08%, and 79% due to BAC above
0,12%. In their study based on the 1990s German data, the effect of alcohol was higher for almost all
BAC levels than in Borkenstein et al. Also in the Grand Rapids study by Alsop, 0.01 0.03% BAC lead
to a mere 80% 96% crash risk, possibly due to extra caution. Many employers or occupations have
their own rules and BAC limits; for example, the United States Federal Railroad Administration has a
0.04% limit for train crew. Certain large corporations have their own rules; for example, Union Pacific
Railroad has their own BAC limit of 0.02% that, if violated during a random test or a for cause test for
example, after a traffic accident can result in

Why The Nurse Interacts With A Family Managing A Chronic...
There are many factors to consider when the nurse interacts with a family managing a chronic illness.
The nurse must consider the structure of the family and how they interact while also identifying how
the family and individual with the chronic condition, manage their condition. They must identify any
risk factors that may impede their ability to manage their chronic condition or protective factors that
improve their abilities to self manage. An analysis of the developmental stage the family or individual
along with the stage of illness they are experiencing is necessary to successfully build relationships
and help guide the family through chronic illness management. Commendation of the family s efforts
and abilities to manage difficult situations revolving around illness may enhance the family s
confidence and improve self management (Wright and Leahey, 2013). These components will be
explored and discussed regarding the family structure of two sisters, R.C. and J.A. R.C. has Marfan
syndrome and J.A. is an active participant in helping her sister manage her condition. This family
structure will be discussed in relationship to their family management style, their individual and
family risk factors, and their management of R.C. s chronic condition. Contextual components will
include the lifestyle stage as defined by Wright and Leahey (2013), and the phase of chronic illness
and its developmental challenges as outline by Rolland (2005). This information was collected during

I pushed the paper to the side and reached into my top drawer for my bottle of Advil, eager to make
the throbbing in my temples subside. Don t take pills on an empty stomach. The last thing I needed
was nausea on top of everything. I pulled out my bottom desk drawer, the secret snack drawer, and
pushed the old chip bags and empty candy wrappers aside, searching for something to nibble on.
Yummy, a half eaten granola bar and mystery Tupperware. I took my chances with the granola bar,
deciding against the food poisoning that would come with week contents of the mystery Tupperware.
After cramming the stale granola bar into my mouth I pulled the wrinkled pages of the essay back in
front of me.
The throbbing in my head intensified with every poorly constructed sentence. At least it doesn t get
worse. The consistency is nice...consistently bad. I had to give the kid points for creativity. The
prompt had been to write a story with two of the characters; a mother and child. This was certainly the
most entertaining rendition. Every other story had been about an angst filled argument between a mom
and her teenage kid, but at least they had known which to to use.
I finished marking up the page and tallied up the score in accordance to the rubric I had provided. The
final grade came it a solid 63%, a failing grade. I thought back again to the creativity and effort the kid

Moral Dialogue In Akira Kurowasa s Film Rashomon
Rashomon and it s significance in moral dialogue Akira Kurowasa s film, Rashomon, (released in
1951) is a remarkable detective/crime film which revolutionized the film making industry and won
many prestigious awards, and was said to the best foreign film out there. The scene took place in the
Ancient Japan. The story of murder talked and showed a Japanese woman who got raped, and her
husband getting killed in a sword fight. The Woodcutter who was one of the protagonists claimed that
he saw the testimony through his very own eyes. However, there are four distinctive points of view,
each telling their own side of the murder. Unfortunately, many of the Western movie critics
misunderstood the film, or just simply oversimplified its meaning. They believed the true meaning of
the story was the subjectivity of the truth, which is not what the story talked about but rather it s about
the quicksand of ego. The quicksand of ego is an important term since its one of the many moral
implications shown in Rashomon which ties nicely with philosophical topics as well as moral dialogue
itself. Rashomon effect which is defined as Kurosawa saying the film is not about the truth, but the
quicksand of ego, which Priest who was another main character refused to accept. The true and pure
meaning behind the Rashomon effect is that we cannot see the truth in everything, because we as a
society are questioning our true believes and goals in life. It is very difficult to find truth, especially

The Importance Of Characterization In Troilus And Cressida
From how people structure their speeches to how they use words, the audience can understand a lot
about their traits and personalities. This is used by many authors in literature, and it is called
characterization. Characterization is the method in which the author reveals the attributes of
characters. In the play, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare uses speeches by two Greek leaders to
further their characterizations. This story takes place during the Trojan War, in which the Greeks
fought the Trojans over the theft of Menelaus wife, Helen. While the main story of the play revolves
around the two lovers, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare incorporates many aspects of the war as
well. In Act I Scene III, Agamemnon, the general of the Greek army, encourages the Greek army by
motivating them to persevere through the long lasting war. He believes that the Gods are trying to test
them, and Troy will eventually crumble if they show constancy. On the other hand, Ulysses, one of the
Greek leaders, responds to Agamemnon with another speech emphasizing that the reason for the
failures of their camp is the absence of hierarchy. This exchange exhibits Agamemnon s imperfect
character and Ulysses intelligence through their rhetoric, which also relates to their roles in the Greek
army. Throughout his speech, Agamemnon is unnecessarily verbose in sharing his predictable point,
and the repetitive structure of his speech displays incompetence in leadership. At the start of his
address, he poses a rhetorical question, What grief hath set the jaundice on your cheeks? (1.3.2),
asking his soldiers about why they look so downhearted. He replies to this by stating that all people
have their checks and disasters, (1.3.5), referring to obstacles and setbacks, and that they should
continue to be persistent. He uses the imagery of a knot that diverts the course of growth and how the
growth of the Greek army will be prevented with the lack of determination. As the speech continues,
he presents another rhetorical question: Why then, you princes,/Do you with cheeks abashed behold
our works/And call them shames, (3.1.17 19) which was essentially the identical as the opening
question. It also has the same word choice of cheeks, and

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Small States
There is no sure definition for small states however, it was noted by Commonwealth Secretariat that it
is one with a population of 1.5 million or fewer. Besides population, small states also face similar
challenges that have led them to be defined as small states as stated in the Commonwealth, decline in
global trade, limited capacity to harness growth opportunities, dependent of outsourced imports,
problematic governance capacities, vulnerability to external shocks and natural disasters, high
transportation costs due to insularity and remoteness, small size, dependence on a narrow range of
exports, lack of readily available information for investors and trading partners. The small states are
not able to prosper because they lack resources. According to Hillman and D Agostino, since the
1990s, various indices of economic vulnerability have been developed by the United Nations and the
Commonwealth Secretariat. These small states share measures of openness to trade, export
diversification, access to and reliance on external financial flows, export dependence, international
transportation costs, and vulnerability to natural disasters. (Hillman and D Agostino, 2009).
Many argue that size is a major weak point for small states in the Caribbean. Small states are
overlooked because of their size and population. According to Paul Sutton, while small states are weak
authorities they are not necessarily weak states. But small states can be strong states and can use that

Quentin Tarantino s Film Pulp Fiction
Quentin Tarantino Quentin Tarantino has made a reputation for himself for using very specific camera

It s Time to Demand More from Corporate America
Michael Moore exposes corporate America s dark side in Roger and Me, Pets or Meat: The Return to
Flint, and The Big One (Moore). These show that corporate America is committing a form of domestic
terrorism by dehumanizing and exploiting their workers then forcing them to the streets to survive.
The actions by individuals such as Roger Smith and Phil Knight are perfect examples of capitalists
constantly oppressing the working class described by Karl Marx. By dehumanizing workers business
owners are able to push them to the streets by closing factories and remain a good public image. Who

After successfully breaking down the working class the CEO is able to close down factories and move
them to countries with lower worker standards to increase profit. This disregard of human life pushes
workers to the streets forcing them into poverty. What do these people have to look forward to after
losing their homes? They live in dirt, disease, and fear with many having to choose between food and

Differences Between The Taliban And The Taliban
It all started in 1920 1924 when Al Qaeda supported the Taliban while Nazis were supported by a lot
of germans.During the Third Reich, the Nazis were against a few writers, artist and so had destroyed
all their work as it was degraded. Whilst the Taliban in the Middle East were focusing on destroying
religious monuments. Both of them had the same perspective, To Liquidate things that did not
represent or respect their faith. The one thing they had in common was ruling others through violence
and intimidation. They were the best at it.
Taliban was an Islamic Fundamental Political movement in Afghanistan. While they had the power of
Afghanistan they had imposed strict laws which were called the Islamic laws.Taliban mostly consisted
of Afghan tribal men. Soon after that Al Qaeda set of to support them. Saudi Arabia supported them
financially, but Taliban use that wealth to wipe out the afghan civilians.
The Taliban had ruled Afghanistan from between 1996 to 2001. The primary act the world didn t like
about Afghanistan was their treatment to the woman and their involvement in terrorism. They are
represented by a huge forces of armed men. In 1994, a group of well trained men were chosen by
Pakistan and sent to Taliban.Their role was to Protect a fleet of men who were trying to open a trade

The Causes Of The Earthquake
In the blink of an eye, everything can change. From a monstrous magnitude 9 earthquake, to a series
of terrorist attacks, to migrating from a third world country that is dangerous to live in, any experience
can transform a lifestyle forever. The earthquake that took place occurred in Fukushima, Japan in
March of 2011 took the lives of 15,894 people, as well as leaving 6,156 injured and 2,546 missing.
This monstrous disaster unleashed a raging tsunami that wiped out the east coast of Japan. The
tsunami initiated a nuclear disaster that released highly toxic wastes into the atmosphere, making it
dangerous for civilians to be outdoors. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 were a series of
four coordinated attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al Qaeda that place in New York City and
Washington D.C. taking the lives of 2,996 people. The U.S. Mexico border has approximately more
than 7,000 deaths from people attempting to cross the border since 2000.
In the midst of the terror, one can learn lessons to last them a lifetime. The people who lived through
these events went through a series of obstacles, both mentally and physically. For all three of these
occurrences, there were a vast amount of family members lost, which is never an easy pill to swallow.
Nothing defeats the mental hardship of leaving one s grandmother behind in order to escape and
survive a tsunami. In the midst of these disasters, there were instances of both selfishness and
selflessness. From loss of

Research Report On Marine Calcareous Microfossils
Marine calcareous microfossils are extensively utilized as geochemical proxy archives. Among the
traditional isotope proxies, δ18O and δ13C of foraminiferal tests are used as geochemical tools to
determine numerous paleoceanographic parameters, such as, paleo temperature, sea ice volume, paleo
sea level, variation of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) in the seawater, paleo productivity and ocean
circulation pattern (Urey et al., 1951; Epstein et al., 1953; Emiliani, 1954; Boyle and Keigwin, 1985;
Duplessy et al., 1988; Spero et al., 1997; Miller et al., 2005; Katz et al., 2008; Katz et al., 2010).
However, the reconstructions of environmental parameters from traditional isotope proxies are not

In recent years, technological advancement in analytical geochemistry has offered a new suite of non
traditional geochemical proxies developed from trace metals (e.g., Sr/Ca, Mg/Ca, Ba/Ca, B/Ca) (Lea

complementary to the traditional foraminifera based isotopic proxies. Moreover, the emerging metal
isotopic proxies have potential to reconstruct past variability in seawater chemistry and thereby
contribute strongly to understanding the long term variation in metal cycling (e.g. Ca, Sr, Mg) that are
directly linked to the global carbon cycle (Richter et al., 1992; Zhu and Macdougall, 1998; de La

Hip Hop s Influence On American Culture
It was not to long ago when Nas said that he believed that Hip Hop was dead which left people
offended and confused by his views of Hip Hop music. Nas album Hip Hop is Dead was the eighth
album by the American Rapper , which was dropped during the year of 2006 and successfully charted
at No. 1 on the U.S Billboard 200 chart, which sold over 350,00 copies in its first week. Hip hop has
had many deaths, he said during his interview with VH1. First was when it changed from the park
jams and went to corporate America. It became a business, then there was an element lost ( VH1, Bene
Viera). Hip Hop has transitioned to a place where it has lost its originality or in other words we can

The music industry seems to allow very minimal Black cultural contribution to even do that, as
opposed to the history of American music has told the same story over many times whereas African
Americans creates a musical style or genre, only to later be replaced by white artists with more
mainstream appeal. This trend can be seen in everything from Rock n Roll, Country music, Pop music
to more recently Hip Hop and RnB where white artists like Iggy Azalea, Macklemore, Robin Thicke
and Justin Timberlake dominates today s Hip Hop/R B charts. White people may be able to participate
in or appropriate Black styles, but they rarely innovate or enhance them, so the genre slowly withers
away ( Clutch, 1). This act all ties in with commercialization and the Whites using Hip Hop as a
source of income to stay on top, and this goes back to back in the early eras when Euro Americans
came to the Americas and took control of everything driving the Native Indians, using Africans as

Rhetorical Strategies In Abigail Adams Letter To John...
Abigail Adams evidently uses rhetorical strategies in a letter to advise her teenage son, John Quincy
Adams, during a voyage to France with his father and his brother. The three of them embarked on this
journey during the Revolutionary War to take care of diplomatic affairs between America and France,
however, J.Q. Adams was reluctant to attend. A. Adams writes a letter to reach out to her son and to
offer her motherly advice. It is clear that she ultimately wishes for her son to embrace the opportunity
he has been given and to expose himself to new situations. The rhetorical strategies A. Adams utilizes
to advise her son include tone, comparison, and personification all of which effectively contribute to
the careful guidance of her child. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While it is certainly natural for a mother to have a gentle manner towards her child, it is rather
impossible for her compassion throughout the letter to go unnoticed. The first issue A. Adams clarifies
was that if she had thought his apprehensions were supported with proper judgment, she would not
have urged him to join. She seeks to reassure her son that he possesses all of the superior advantages
necessary to succeed and that nature has not been deficient. By offering a sense of comfort, A. Adams
calms her son so that he will put aside his worries and listen to her. Granted, she knows her son is still
young and that it will take years before he finds his understanding opening and daily improving.
Nevertheless, A. Adams attempts to elaborate on her underlying message that it is crucial for a young
man to step out of his comfort zone and to expose himself to unfamiliar experiences. She hopes to
motivate her son to see the benefits of the journey by ensuring that wisdom and penetration are the
fruit of the experience, not the lessons of retirement and leisure. A. Adams offers this piece of advice
to remind her son that he will only obtain wisdom through firsthand lessons. Her benevolent, motherly
tone ultimately serves to convince her son that she is on his side and that she firmly believes he made
a sensible decision by attending the expedition with his

The Influence Of Realism In The Clash Of Civilization
The core claim of The Clash of Civilizations is that the greatest threat to world peace in the post cold
war world is not political, ideological or economic, but cultural. A civilization according to
Huntington (1996) is the highest cultural grouping of people and the broadest level of cultural identity
that helps people distinguish themselves from who they are not and who they are against (21). This is
also evident on page 20 when Huntington (1996) states, for peoples seeking identity and reinventing
ethnicity, enemies are essential, and the potentially most dangerous enmities occur across the fault
lines between the world s major civilizations. The understanding of the self in one culture is totally
different in another civilizations context and this leads to misinterpretation and misunderstanding.
Other factors than the culture of civilizations better help explain and understand military conflicts and
the Clash of Civilizations. In fact, Huntington s claims are nothing more than recycled Cold War
realism updated to replace the Green Scare for the Red Scare.
The principle of international relations during the Cold War, realism, completely disregards the impact
of culture on interactions between states. For realists, the imperative actors on the international scene
are states and their ultimate goal is maximizing the power they can ultimately possess. In general,
realist theory coincides with the idea that no matter the time period or the state, actors all have one

Totalitarian Autocracy
First of all, Friedrich and Brzezinski (1965) distinguish between traditional autocracy and ancient
tyranny, and in the other hand, totalitarian dictatorship. In their view, totalitarian regimes exemplified
by communist and fascist dictatorships are qualitatively different from traditional autocracy in that
they harness modern means of communication and a mass party in systematic effort to exert control
over the subject population, primarily for ideological purposes. In all autocratic regimes, the ruler is
not accountable to anyone else for what he does and the one who make the decisions. Totalitarianism
is an autocracy based upon modern technology and mass legitimation. The Soviet Union and its East
European satellites, Nazi Germany and fascist Italy, Mao s China and Castro s Cuba are given as
examples of totalitarian regimes. According to F B, totalitarian systems have 6 traits: 1 An ideology
that is the declared enemy of religion, or which seeks to subsume religion within itself, turning
churches and clergy into collaborators of the regime; 2 A single mass party, typically led by one man,
the dictator, consisting a relatively small percentage of total population (up to 10 percent) which acts
as a political vanguard, infusing all parts of society and state with official doctrine; 3 A system of
physical and psychological terror extending over the entire nation, including essential parts of the state
such as the military, secret police, bureaucracy and the cadres; 5

Apart from these classic hallmarks, increasing evidence has demonstrated uncontrolled glial activation
and neuroinflammation in AD brain may contribute independently to neural dysfunction and cell death
(Akiyama et al., 2000; Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). Robust activation of microglia has been found
in and around the area of amyloid plaques in the AD brain, and reactive astrocytes have been shown to
form a halo surrounding the amyloid plaques (Itagaki et al., 1989; Ho et al., 2005). Additionally,
numerous proinflammatory factors have been reported to be elevated in both patients with AD and
transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al., 2000; Ruan et al., 2009).
Whether alleviation of neuroinflammation will offer therapeutic benefit for AD remains unclear.
Epidemiological studies show a possible association between suppression of inflammation and
reduced risk for AD (in t Veld et al., 2001; Vlad et al., 2008). Therefore, drugs targeting
neuroinflammation might provide benefits for the prevention and treatment of this devastating disease.
In the central nervous system, microglia and astrocytes are the major type of glial cells, and activation
of these cells has been involved in all neurodegenerative diseases (Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002).
Nevertheless, the

Homo Habilis Essay
Homo Habilis
Hominids with a brain absolutely and relatively larger than that of the australopithecines appeared
about 2.3 million years ago. These hominids are classified in our own genus: Homo. The earliest
species to appear was the Homo Habilis. It was the first of our ancestors to show a significant increase
in brain size and also the first to be found associated with stone tools. These characteristics resulted in
this species placement into the human genus, Homo.
Discovery
The first fossil was found in 1960 when a team led by scientists Louis and Mary Leakey uncovered
the fossilized remains of a unique early human at Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania.

Dental microwear studies suggest that the diet of H. habilis was flexible and versatile and that they
were capable of eating a broad range of foods, including some tougher foods like leaves, woody
plants, roots, berries and some animal tissues (birds and insects), but that they did not routinely
consume or specialize in eating hard foods like brittle nuts or seeds, dried meat, or very hard tubers.
They also were scroungers who even ate dead animals that they found left by other larger predators.
Surviving and Toolmaking
Homo is a Latin word meaning human or man . The word habilis is based on a Latin word meaning
handy or skilful . This species is known as handy man because stone tools were found near its fossil
remains and it is assumed this species had developed the ability to modify stone into tools.
Homo habilis is thought to have mastered the Lower Paleolithic Olduwan tool set which used stone
flakes. These stone flakes were more advanced than any tools previously used, and gave H. habilis the
edge it needed to prosper in hostile environments previously too formidable for primates.
By a method called direct percussion, a core stone called a biface was hit with a hammer stone to
produce flakes. The biface was made into choppers called the Oldawan pebble

  • 2. President Obama s President Bush Essay Incumbent politicians spend their time in office voting on legislation to benefit their constituents, crafting legislation to fit party principles, building a reputation for reelection, and crafting a legacy that will ensure them a spot in history. President Obama s choice to act unilaterally in signing the Paris Agreement solidifies his legacy by finally putting into effect an international agreement that has been a work in progress for two decades. The Republican ruled Congress has been opposing what they claim to be a war on coal since President Obama made climate change a focus of his second term. Obama s bypass of Congressional approval for the Paris Agreement, an agreement many see as a treaty, will strain Congressional/Executive relations for terms to come by encouraging members of Congress to be cautious of unilateral actions while encouraging the President to take advantage of them. The Paris Agreement is made up of 195 nations who plan to cut their greenhouse gas emissions in an attempt to slow down the increase in the global temperature. President Obama s decision to sign this agreement does not only promote his personal climate change legacy but the climate change legacy of the United States of America. Since this environmental pact is only legally binding when at least 55 countries representing 55 percent of global emissions sign on, a United States signature could very well be the difference between a revolutionary global climate change policy and ... • 3. Physics of Aristotle Essay The great Greek thinker Aristotle was born in 384 B.C. in Stagirus, a city in ancient Macedonia in northern Greece. At the age of eighteen Aristotle went to Athens to begin his studies at Plato s Academy. He stayed and studied at the Academy for nineteen years and in that time became both a teacher and an independent researcher. After Plato s death in 347 B.C. Aristotle spent twelve years traveling and living in various places around the Aegean Sea. It was during this time that Aristotle was asked by Philip of Macedon to be a private tutor to his son, Alexander. Aristotle privately taught Alexander for three years before he returned to Athens after Philip gained control of the Greek capital. During this period back in Athens Aristotle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Physics Aristotle deduces that there must be two main principles of change. These principles are 1) matter and 2) form. Matter stays the same in general composition throughout change much as a rock would stay the same even after being broken into several small pieces. Form, however, is what changes through various processes. In order to prevent an infinite regression of argument, Aristotle came up with the his famous idea of the Prime Mover, which exists outside the earth somewhere in the heavens and is ultimately responsible for all change on earth. Aristotle s physics separated the universe into two main areas: the terrestrial realm and the celestial realm. The terrestrial realm was composed of the four elements: earth, wind, water and fire, which could each be either hot, wet, dry or cold, and the celestial realm made of ether, or what Aristotle called the quintessence. The basic assumption of Aristotelian physics was that the natural state of terrestrial matter is at rest, and that earth air and water would continually strive to reach their natural place at the center of the earth unless impeded by an impenetrable surface like the ground or a ceiling. He assumed that the natural resting place of fire was somewhere above the earth but below the moon. this model held that the complicated nature of the circulation of the air was a result of the conflict between fire, which was trying to ... • 4. Analysis Of The Article Battle Of Hastings The article from Wikipedia called Battle of Hastings is about the historical Battle of Hastings, fought on October 14, 1066. Part of the Norman conquest of England, it was between the Norman French army of William, the Duke of Normandy, and an English army under the Anglo Saxon King Harold Godwinson. Taking place approximately 7 miles northwest of Hastings, East Sussex, England, it was a Norman victory. This significant battle was fought due to the death of childless King Edward the Confessor which caused Harold to be crowned king shortly after King Edward s death. However, Harold faced invasion of Duke William as Duke William claimed he had been promised the throne by King Edward and that Harold had sworn to this agreement (Battle of Hastings, 2016). The battle lasted from about 9 a.m. to dusk, with estimates of around 10,000 men fighting for Duke William and about 7,000 men for Harold. The battle ended with the death of Harold which had led to the defeat and retreat of most of his army (Battle of Hastings, 2016). Many historians have their theories about the possible outcomes of the Battle of Hastings. One was Harold had to defend against almost two simultaneous invasions. Some historians will fault Harold for not gathering up enough, troops after the previous battle he had in the previous month. Another reason Harold is blamed for the outcome, and loss of England, is because Duke William was a much more experienced military leader than Harold. In the end, Harold s ... • 6. The At The North Texas Teen Book Hi everyone! This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending The North Texas Teen Book Festical in Irving, TX. It was so much fun, and honestly it was one of the best weekends of my life. This post is just an overview of some pictures and the things I did. Let s begin! (All the bloggers/booktubers I mention will be linked at the end!) Friday Friday was educator s day, but they had an author luncheon that was open to the public. The authors at the luncheon were Sarah Dessen, Ruta Sepetys, and E. Lockhart. I met up with my friend, Avery, to go to the event. As we were sitting in the lobby, we saw Marie Lu walk in and I started freaking out. I wanted to go and ask for a picture, but I was too shy to go up to her. We went inside and sat at a table close to the front (closest to the reserve author table). As we were sitting there, I look in the corner and Ruta Sepetys (AKA ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS) is standing in the corner. Avery and I went over to talk to Ruta, and she was absolutely adorable. If you ever have the chance to meet Ruta, please seize your opportunity because she s absolutely brilliant. Avery and I got a picture with her. img_5994 1 We finally got the courage to take a picture with Marie Lu, so here s my picture with Marie: IMG_0612 I was able to get my entire Legend trilogy signed by her the next day. I didn t get a chance to talk to her during the signing because there wasn t enough time. After getting a picture with Marie, I sat down to start ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These techniques can include the use of rhyme, alliteration, personification, similes, metaphors and imagery. The poems that will be compared in this essay include: My Country by Dorothea Mackellar, The Eagle by Alfred Lord Tennyson and Old Man Platypus by Banjo Patterson. The Poem My Country, by Australian poet Dorothea Mackellar, depicts the diverse land of Australia and why she loves it so much. This poem makes me feel proud to be Australian because I am lucky enough to live in such a vast and beautiful country, as the poem describes. The constant flow of this poem is created by the rhyme scheme where the second and fourth lines of each stanza rhyme and so do lives six and eight. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This poem makes me feel lighthearted and it makes me smile through its clever language use to describe the individuality of the platypus. Techniques used in this poem include the use of rhyme, like the two poems previously mentioned. In this poem line one, three and four rhyme and lines two and five also rhyme with each other in each stanza. Also like the two previous poems, Old Man Platypus employs personification. For example the poem gives the platypus the human quality of talking in stanza five he talks in a deep unfriendly growl . Alliteration is used in this poem, like the others, such as in the first line of stanza three: he shares his burrow beneath the bank . Similes are also found in this poem in stanza four where Patterson writes, They sleep like little brown billiard balls . This image of the sleeping platypuses is emphasized by the use of alliteration. Unlike the other two poems mentioned, Patterson uses humor in this poem while he is describing the platypus. For example he playfully refers to the platypus as Old Man Platypus and writes that he descends from a family most exclusive . The use of the word exclusive would not usually be thought of to refer to the ancestry of the platypus and this is where the humorous tone of Patterson s writing comes ... There is often a lot of confusion between tsunamis and hurricanes. They are both natural disasters that involve a lot of water, they can both cause a lot of destruction and/or death, and they can both ruin or end people s lives. Then the middle player can say some kind of conditional statement like everyone with red hair or everyone not wearing shoes . A CMA, also known as a certified medical assistant, is an individual that has been awarded a certification credential through the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants(AAMA). CMA has been educated in a wide scope of general, clinical, and administrative responsibilities. They were also tested. CMAs play major roles in the medical field, by aiding other professionals to help patients. Being a certified medical assistant takes time, the process maybe complicated but in the end of the day it may be worth it. To become a CMA, there are certain education requirements. The CMA is the only certification that requires graduation from a postsecondary medical assisting accredited by an authorized body recognized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One pro is, being able to help people. Some are in it just to help people and cure them of their sickness. Just to be able to help someone is an enjoyment to them. CMAs can work anywhere, between nursing home facilities, offices, and hospitals of course. Some build relationships with their patients and some may say that isn t a pro but it isn t good to just be rude and dull to a patient. It s better to be happy and optimistic around a patient. You can be certified to work in any state. Instead of being tied down to one state only, the certification allows the person to work anywhere across the country. You work regular hours. Unlike some workers in the medical profession: nurses, doctors, etc. CMAs get off at the exact time that s on their schedule, no overtimes or anything and they know their schedule. There are plenty of jobs. The field is to grow at least by 23% by 2022. The drawbacks of becoming a CMA is it can be very tiring. Especially working in a hospital or a nursing home, the patients could be a little too much or extremely sick and they may need extra care and that may be tiring. Some CMAs should perform both administrative and clinical duties which can become very frustrating and overwhelming. Another drawback is the pay rate and the amount of schooling. CMAs typically receive lower wages than most medical professions and do about the same amount of schooling as doctors and nurses and doing much more, they don t get much at all. Compared to RNs they make $31,000 less and compared to doctors they make $171,000 less. But most people that go into that field probably aren t in it for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The size of an organisation s HRM is dependent on the general size of the organisation a small businesses may for example only have one member of staff responsible for HRM where as a multinational company would have a huge HRM department in its head office. As technology continues to grow, the meaning of words communicated through technology seems to stretch farther from the truth. In other words, as technology has become more readily available to public, more people have communicated less about how they actually feel. However, before any of the common types of technology were invented, many people relied on letters for honest communication. Letters were used to express varying types of information, from sharing personal family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Darcy s letter to Elizabeth, Mr. Darcy s character such as his gentle nature, social class belief, and his gentlemen personality are uncovered. In chapter 35, Mr. Darcy said, I had detached Mr. Bingley from your sister, and the other, that I had, in defiance of various claims, in defiance of honour and humanity, ruined the immediate prosperity and blasted the prospects of Mr. Wickham., I am under the necessity of relating feelings which may be offensive to yours, I can only say that I am sorry (Austen). Before this letter, Elizabeth viewed Mr. Darcy as a cold and overconfident person that purposely separated Mr. Bingley and Jane. However, this quote reveals that it was not his intention to purposefully separate Mr. Bingley from Jane; he convinced Mr. Bingley that Jane did not have romantic feelings towards him. Furthermore, this quote reveals his gentle nature and love towards Elizabeth because he sincerely apologizes to Elizabeth for causing her distress. In the middle of his letter to Elizabeth, Mr. Darcy said, The situation of your mother s family, though objectionable, was nothing in comparison to that total want of propriety so frequently, so almost uniformly betrayed by herself, by your three younger sisters, and occasionally even by your father (Austen). This quote reveals that Mr. Darcy believes in the importance of social classes and appearances to fit society. Even though he believes that Elizabeth belongs to a crazy family, he explained how he views Elizabeth separate from her embarrassing family. Even though the difference in social classes would keep an average couple apart, Mr. Darcy s and Elizabeth s love is so strong that they overlook their differences in social class. Towards the end of the letter, Mr. Darcy said, I thought too ill of him to invite him to Pemberley, or admit his society in town. In town I believe he chiefly lived, but his studying the law was a mere pretence, and being now free from all restraint, his life was a life of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Normal Distribution Is A Continuous, Unimodal And... The normal distribution is a continuous, unimodal and symmetric distribution. For a typical normal distribution, a mesokurtic (which means to have a moderate peak and tails for a graph), definition is one that has a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1. While this is the case, there might be other normal distributions with means that are not 0 and a standard deviation that is not 1, for these cases, we use their means and standard deviation. For example, if a normal distribution had a mean of 2 and a standard deviation of 3, then in order to clarify that it is indeed a normal distribution, we write N( 2,3). Among the normal distributions, we have a standard normal, exponential, uniform and beta. These are varieties of distributions we can get within a normal distribution based on factors like number of cases for example and where the cases were drawn from. At times when it gets complicated to distinguish between the standard deviation of a variable and that of a sampling distribution, there is a solution. The standard deviation for a sampling distribution is called a standard error and this literally means that if a sampling distribution is normal, then 68% of its samples will lie within one standard error of the mean and 98% within 1.98 standard error of the mean. The normal distribution is useful not just due a random variable following a normal distribution, but also because the Central Limit Theorem, which is a theorem that shows the sampling distribution of the mean ... The Causes And Cons Of Chemistry In Chemistry After completion of the transesterification reaction employed at the optimal conditions, the catalyst was collected from the reactant mixture by filtration; the catalyst was washed with hexane several times to remove the adhered oil particles, and then dried at 110°C for 2 hr. The catalyst was reused several times without further treatment to obtain FAME from WCSO. To evaluate catalyst stability, the optimum amount of CaO that was obtained by examining the operating condition was stirred with 38ml methanol at the optimum conditions obtained. After the catalyst was separated, methanol was mixed with 30 ml WCSO and the reaction was carried out under the optimum conditions, 65°C, methanol: oil ratio 30:1, 3 hr. and 300 rpm. 3. Results and discussion 3.1 Catalyst characterization The synthesized CaO catalyst was subjected to different temperatures and times of calcination. The calcination time and temperature change the catalyst structure; consequently, this affects catalyst activity and the concentration of FAMEs produced. The impact of different calcination temperatures, 700 °C, 750 °C, 800 °C, 850 °C, and 900 °C, and durations, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 hr, were tested for the transesterification of WCSO to produce biodiesel. A BAC measurement in excess of a specific threshold level, such as 0.05% or 0.08%, defines the criminal offense with no need to prove impairment. One study suggests that already a BAC of 0.04 0.05% would slightly increase the risk whereas some studies suggest that a BAC of 0.01 0.04% would slightly lower the risk, possibly due to the drivers being more cautious. Both the influential study by Borkenstein et al. and the empirical German data on the 1990s demonstrated that the risk of accident is lower or the same for drivers with a BAC of 0.04% or less than for drivers with a BAC of 0%. For a BAC of 0.15% the risk is 25 fold. The 0.08% BAC limit in Germany and the limits in many other countries were set based on the study by Borkenstein et al. Wuerzburg University researchers showed that all extra accidents caused by alcohol were due to at least 0.06% BAC, 96% of them due to BAC above 0.08%, and 79% due to BAC above 0,12%. Moral Dialogue In Akira Kurowasa s Film Rashomon Rashomon and it s significance in moral dialogue Akira Kurowasa s film, Rashomon, (released in 1951) is a remarkable detective/crime film which revolutionized the film making industry and won many prestigious awards, and was said to the best foreign film out there. The scene took place in the Ancient Japan. The story of murder talked and showed a Japanese woman who got raped, and her husband getting killed in a sword fight. The Woodcutter who was one of the protagonists claimed that he saw the testimony through his very own eyes. However, there are four distinctive points of view, each telling their own side of the murder. Unfortunately, many of the Western movie critics misunderstood the film, or just simply oversimplified its meaning. They believed the true meaning of the story was the subjectivity of the truth, which is not what the story talked about but rather it s about the quicksand of ego. The quicksand of ego is an important term since its one of the many moral implications shown in Rashomon which ties nicely with philosophical topics as well as moral dialogue itself. • 32. The Importance Of Characterization In Troilus And Cressida From how people structure their speeches to how they use words, the audience can understand a lot about their traits and personalities. This is used by many authors in literature, and it is called characterization. Characterization is the method in which the author reveals the attributes of characters. In the play, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare uses speeches by two Greek leaders to further their characterizations. This story takes place during the Trojan War, in which the Greeks fought the Trojans over the theft of Menelaus wife, Helen. While the main story of the play revolves around the two lovers, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare incorporates many aspects of the war as well. In Act I Scene III, Agamemnon, the general of the Greek army, encourages the Greek army by motivating them to persevere through the long lasting war. He believes that the Gods are trying to test them, and Troy will eventually crumble if they show constancy. On the other hand, Ulysses, one of the Greek leaders, responds to Agamemnon with another speech emphasizing that the reason for the failures of their camp is the absence of hierarchy. This exchange exhibits Agamemnon s imperfect character and Ulysses intelligence through their rhetoric, which also relates to their roles in the Greek army. Throughout his speech, Agamemnon is unnecessarily verbose in sharing his predictable point, and the repetitive structure of his speech displays incompetence in leadership. At the start of his address, he poses a rhetorical question, What grief hath set the jaundice on your cheeks? (1.3.2), asking his soldiers about why they look so downhearted. He replies to this by stating that all people have their checks and disasters, (1.3.5), referring to obstacles and setbacks, and that they should continue to be persistent. He uses the imagery of a knot that diverts the course of growth and how the growth of the Greek army will be prevented with the lack of determination. As the speech continues, he presents another rhetorical question: Why then, you princes,/Do you with cheeks abashed behold our works/And call them shames, (3.1.17 19) which was essentially the identical as the opening question. It also has the same word choice of cheeks, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Small States There is no sure definition for small states however, it was noted by Commonwealth Secretariat that it is one with a population of 1.5 million or fewer. Besides population, small states also face similar challenges that have led them to be defined as small states as stated in the Commonwealth, decline in global trade, limited capacity to harness growth opportunities, dependent of outsourced imports, problematic governance capacities, vulnerability to external shocks and natural disasters, high transportation costs due to insularity and remoteness, small size, dependence on a narrow range of exports, lack of readily available information for investors and trading partners. The small states are not able to prosper because they lack resources. According to Hillman and D Agostino, since the 1990s, various indices of economic vulnerability have been developed by the United Nations and the Commonwealth Secretariat. These small states share measures of openness to trade, export diversification, access to and reliance on external financial flows, export dependence, international transportation costs, and vulnerability to natural disasters. (Hillman and D Agostino, 2009). Many argue that size is a major weak point for small states in the Caribbean. Small states are overlooked because of their size and population. The Influence Of Realism In The Clash Of Civilization The core claim of The Clash of Civilizations is that the greatest threat to world peace in the post cold war world is not political, ideological or economic, but cultural. A civilization according to Huntington (1996) is the highest cultural grouping of people and the broadest level of cultural identity that helps people distinguish themselves from who they are not and who they are against (21). This is also evident on page 20 when Huntington (1996) states, for peoples seeking identity and reinventing ethnicity, enemies are essential, and the potentially most dangerous enmities occur across the fault lines between the world s major civilizations. In all autocratic regimes, the ruler is not accountable to anyone else for what he does and the one who make the decisions. Apart from these classic hallmarks, increasing evidence has demonstrated uncontrolled glial activation and neuroinflammation in AD brain may contribute independently to neural dysfunction and cell death (Akiyama et al., 2000; Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). Robust activation of microglia has been found in and around the area of amyloid plaques in the AD brain, and reactive astrocytes have been shown to form a halo surrounding the amyloid plaques (Itagaki et al., 1989; Ho et al., 2005). Additionally, numerous proinflammatory factors have been reported to be elevated in both patients with AD and transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al., 2000; Ruan et al., 2009).
