30. Accountability, in its present form has led educators to
promote a victim mentality. We often act helpless to change
because accountability frustrates our creative and innovated
practices. Now, we have the ability to showcase our
professional competence and illustrate high quality learning
in our classrooms, our schools and our systems. This
assurance to our public will place accountability in the right
light and should enhance our professional status.

31. How is the accountability perceived in your world?
60. So call me crazy but I decided to email out to our
teachers asking for their help in determining just what
we mean by “transformation” or “innovation.” When I
say crazy, what I did was craft an email to over 5000 of
our teachers asking if they would mind inviting me to
their class to see what they call transformative and then
I want to hear from them what this means to them and
what support did they need to get there.

are inaccessible…
their influence and
impact slowly
deteriorate. Confusion
replaces clarity as
trust slowly falters
and eventually fails."
