3. E-Rate Explained “E-Rate” is the more common term for The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund. E-Rate provides discounts to assist schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access.

6. Goose Creek CISD Technology Plan Overview Providing technology for literacy, integration and transformative learning to prepare students to successfully live, learn and work in the Digital Age. Digital tools include: laptops, smart tablets, interactive white boards, classroom performance systems, iPods, document cameras, and more.
8. Current levels of implementation include: Wireless connectivity for every campus. Classrooms have projection capability. Streaming video (Discovery Channel United Streaming) available for all district users. Campuses have wireless mobile curriculum labs. All secondary math teachers have classroom performance systems and laptops.
10. Implementation Continued: High school students enrolled in Technology courses have 1:1 laptops. Four new campuses have document cameras in every classroom. All campuses have classroom performance systems to share.

13. More Implementation Information: Staff development sessions on Wiki's, Podcasting and Blogging have been introduced. Sessions on Digital Citizenship and validation of Internet resources have been added. All staff have access to real-time student performance data via SchoolNet.

17. SUMMARY E-Rate provides discounts to assist schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access. There are four service plans funded by E-Rate. GCCISD is vigorously pursuing target goals for Technology implementation.
