21. CONCLUSION
• Almost all the respondents addicted to
PAAN consumption and 50% consumers
know one or other in society who faces
severe health problem due to PAAN
consumptions.
•Though majority of respondent knows that
PAAN consumption causes cancer but still
47% consumers have never thought of
quitting Paan.
•Majority still feels that advertisement
22. CONCLUSION
•More than half of consumers (58%) start
consuming sweet PAAN with friends and
spent up to 20 RS on daily basis.
•Existing health problem like Tooth Problem
are strongly agreed, Cough and
Constipation got neutral review where as
Allergy and Mouth Ulcer problem were
disagreed by consumers.
•Cutting Lips and acts as mouth fresheners
were strongly agreed by consumers.

•Sample size of survey = 38
•Some statistical values of duration of
PAAN consumptions come out to be :
•MEAN (Average duration of consumers
consuming PAAN) : 4 yrs.
•Median (Half of consumers consuming
PAAN, since) : 4 yrs.
•Mode (Maximum number of
times/frequency of occurrence of year is) : 3
yrs.
•Std. Deviation (How far values in data set
deviates from Mean): 3yrs.
24. SUGGESTIONS &
RECOMENDATION
•Paan consumption is linked with the
culture and lifestyle of Varanasi, So Paan
should be rinsed in fresh water before
eating, remove dust, soil, insects etc
sticking on their surfaces.
•Paan should not be eaten more than 3-4
times a day. Sleeping with paan in mouth is
strictly forbidden. Tobacco filled paan is
also very harmful.
•Those who suffer from diseases of tooth or

•Excessive eating of paan destroys the
elasticity of the tissues of mouth as result

affects teeth to the point of its decaying.
•Because of its few medicinal effects its sale

•Government should publish
advertisements against chewing of paan
and ban in public place, just like against
