WHAT ARE THE RFHD’S?
• An immense and impactful, Rotary-led nationwide
health campaign held over three days in multiple
African countries
• Provides comprehensive free health care and
screening services to citizens at selected sites –
rural, urban and informal identified by partners
• Delivered through a Public/Private Partnership
programme
• Independently assessed PWC value of Programme in
South Africa is US $ 14 500 000

• 9 143 HIV tests
• 11 021 TB tests
• 16 033 Referrals
• 10 710 Referees received further treatment
• 77 % people said their lives changed because of the RFHD’s*
• 56% of those whose lives changed say their health improved*
• 95 % of people felt their RFHD experience good*
• 99 % of people said they were treated with respect and dignity*
• 99 % of people would like to come back the next RFHD*

SINCE THE INCEPTION OF
ROTARY FAMILY HEALTH DAYS
• RFHD has been included on the National Health Calendar of Events
• RFHDs will take place nationally at 120 sites between 12th – 14th October
• The Minister of Health has made determination that the National RFHD Campaign will
be officially launched on 12th October 2016 in the North West Province – Rustenburg
area.
• Target: 100 000 beneficiaries nationally
• Align the recently launched NDOH PHILA strategy and Girls and Young Women
Campaign
• RFHA Target 75 000 people
