event practice those few lines and perfect them

Confidence is key in networking. Pick 2 elements of your
business that you regard as your competitive advantage
and highlight them in your conversations. You need to be
sure about your business and what you can offer the
people you are networking with.

Do your background research before going for a
networking event. Get details about the organizers, the
theme, the aim and the attendees so that you can know
how you fit in. When you know what kind of event it is
and why you are there, you will be more at ease with your
interactions.
As you do your research, identify common areas of interest
with the other attendees that you can use to initiate
conversation. Pick three common areas to break the ground
when talking to different people e.g same industry, the
economy, relationship with the event organizer etc
