DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Responsibilities
Start-up, Shut down and continuous monitoring of the plan
Responsible for regulating pumps, valves in the plant and at the control room.
Monitor process variables such as temperature, Pressures, levels, flow rates to
ensure that they meet accepted routine operating parameters of the plant.
Make recommendation for improving unit and/ or optimizing energy consumption
when necessary.
Undertake routine checks and monitor conditions of process equipment such as
pumps, air compressors, columns, control valves etc, and report anomalies for
correction.

Provide day to day support for safety, maintenance, and operations.
Product quality and laboratory analysis.
Ensure proper operation of processing unit to produce quality products-diesel,
naphtha etc.
Check the Viscosity, density (API), flashpoint, initial and final boiling points and
performing full distillation of finished product when required.
Perform analysis on crude oil to know the quality of the crude ,some of the
analysis perform on the crude are full distillation, salt content, water content,
viscosity, density, sulfur content etc .
Calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments and preparation of
standards in accordance with ASTM and ISO procedures.
