Greetings!
As we begin the 11th National Dental Health Month with the theme “Nakangiti ang Kinabukasan Kapag Ngipin ay Pinangangalagaan” we invite you and your members to come and join in the celebration and merriment as we kick off once again with the exciting and entertaining Street Dancing Competition.
With this year’s theme “Hataw Dentistang Pinoy” we encourage everyone to join and have fun as we showcase the talents of Filipino Dentists all over the country. It aims to promote artistic excellence in the spirit of a friendly competition and acquiring the value of working together toward common goal achieving teamwork as the group experience will bring about dependability, responsibility, commitment, sportsmanship, discipline, creativity and awareness of the value of the art of dance.

STREET DANCING COMPETITION 2015
Contest Rules and Guidelines
General Mechanics
1. Open to all PDA Chapters and Affiliates
2. All participating chapter and affiliates shall perform twice. One Focal Presentation inside Cuneta Astrodome, and a Mobile Presentation on the area provided by the committee during street parade. The contingent will join and converge with the motorcade on foot, starting only from a particular designated area.
3. Prizes and special awards shall be given to all participating chapters and affiliates.
Requirements
1. Each chapter or affiliate shall have only 1 entry presentation with a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 25 bonafide members of the PDA participating in the dance proper.
2. Props men and utility men shall also be bonafide PDA members.
3. Each chapter/affiliate shall indicate participation to the competition by submitting to the Chairman a completed Registration Form and a waiver. These may be sent to the PDA Secretariat or through email at ndhmstreetdancing2015@yahoo.com
4. Deadline of submission of forms is on December 31, 2014.
5. Chapter Presidents or their Dance coordinators must attend all meetings called by the Committee organizer to have good coordination among participants.
Mechanics
1. The dance routine maybe in fusion of Jazz, Hip hop, Contemporary, street dance, Pop, Retro or any kind as long as it is modernized/stylized and is in the fast modern/upbeat tempo and must incorporate folk or ethnic dance steps jived in contemporary beat to promote Philippine Dance culture.
2. Each entry shall use Original Pilipino Music (OPM) of any genre such as Pop, Rock, Hip hop, dance 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or any of the Latest Songs. This is to provide each entry with a more artistic freedom from conceptualizing its entry. An OPM is a song in any language but is written by a Filipino artist or composer. Please confer with the committee with your chosen dance or song.
3. Narration is strictly not allowed. This Competition is designed for each entry to tell a story revolving around the theme “Hataw Dentistang Pinoy” showing the talents of Filipino dentist and Dental Awareness through dancing.
4. Groups may wear any costume/attire provided that costumes are decent and secured.
5. Judging will be done in two phases: The mobile performance will comprise 30% of the total score while the final Focal Performance will comprise the remaining 70%.
6. Mobile Presentation shall be presented at the designated area along Roxas Boulevard. Each Chapter shall perform 6cycles of 8beats with the music that the committee shall provide. The music shall be continuous as the parade progresses. At the end of 6 8beats, the group shall continue into progressive steps as they exit the ground proper.
7. Chapters shall provide a brief description of the dance from which they based their presentation. This will be read as they are presented during the performances. (About two to four sentences)
8. Focal presentations shall be done on the dance floor provided inside Cuneta Astrodome. Presentations must be a minimum of 3 minutes to a maximum of 5 minutes. The official time for the performance will start as soon as the music starts and ends as soon as the music stops. Violation of this rule will merit 10 points deduction from the overall score.
9. A copy of the music to be used during the dance shall be given to the organizing committee 1 week before the event. It shall be in Audio CD. However live musical instruments is highly encouraged and may be used to add to the festive mood.

10. Three minutes will be given for the preparation of props and musical instruments for every preparation. The performance time starts as soon as the preparation time lapses or as soon as the contingent is ready to perform.
11. Each group will be given 15 minutes to block on stage on the day of the competition.
12. The sequence of performance shall be decided through drawing of lots to be done prior to the show proper.
13. Safety must be observed. No high lifting or rough acrobatic movements so as to avoid any unnecessary accidents.
14. Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and those that may harm the performance of other groups. Props such as Oil, confetti, fire, water, flammable materials, broken glass, live animals, sharp objects and the like are prohibited. The use of live animal sacrifices and children are also strictly prohibited. A 5 point deduction shall be imposed against those violating this rule.
15. There will be 1 set of Judges for the Street Dancing Competition (Mobile and Focal Presentation). One of them will play as head judge. Incase of a tie, the head judge and the chairman shall discuss, decide and declare the winner.
16. The decision of the Judges is FINAL. Clarifications may be done with the 105th Organizing Committee.
17. Special awards shall be given ( trophies )
18. The winners shall be awarded as follows:
The Champion Php 50,000
The First Runner-up Php 30,000
The Second Runner-up Php 20,000
Consolation Prizes Php 10,000 (for non winning participants)
Certificates for all Participating Chapters and Affiliates
19. The time and place of assembly will be announced before the event.
