Senior Research Leader, Biodiversity Informatics

As Senior Research Leader in Biodiversity Informatics, I lead a team of specialist technologists & researchers tasked with curating, improving access to & exploitation of Kew’s exceptional data resources, including global scale nomenclatural & taxonomic datasets, specimen catalogues and data on the distribution, morphology, usage & traits of plants & fungi. I oversee the development of novel tools & information services to maximise the use of Kew’s data, & to enable it to be efficiently curated. My research is focussed on the use of graph-based data models & the development of tools & services to enable efficient data linking: to build the foundations of the biodiversity knowledge graph
